can we talk about how hawk and Tory hung out like all the time in seasons 2&3 and yet literally never acknowledge each other when they’re finally on the same side again in season 6. Like even Hawk and Robby in season five had an awkward little acknowledgement of each other being on the same side and how their history made that sorta weird, AND THEY BARELY HAD ANY CONVERSATIONS WITH EACH OTHER. You’re telling me Tory and Hawk “steal a snake together”, “you better watch your back” Tory and Hawk, Tory and Hawk “partners in gang violence for months” having NOTHING to say to each other

One of my favorite details from acofas is that tamlin canonically beat lucien’s ass when he showed up at the spring court after the war but then he felt so bad about it he sent lucien an invitation basically being like “heyyyy sorry for punching you last time you were here would you still like to spend winter solstice together like we always have 🥺” and lucien just went without a second thought.

I’ve seen so many people saying that “of course the straight couple get the happy ending” (meaning ineffable bureaucracy), am I missing something? I thought Beelzebub was nonbinary ? Did I make this up in my head, or have people just forgotten because of the actor swap?

at a skating rink and i thought about valgrace so

valgrace except leo is a pro skater. he can spin around and practically just dance while on wheels but jason? he cannot skate for the life of him.

so leo takes jason’s hands, tells him to bend his knees and find a balance, to find a rhythm in the music and just let go; feel it. jason does, of course, after they skate in their third circle because in reality, he’s been distracted by leo and his bright smile. jason catches the way leo sways to the beat, mouths the lyrics if he knows the songs but brown irises are kept on him, forever him.

it’s in that moment, jason falls in love with leo.

#How You Get The Girl #anita kelly #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #I thought this was okay! kinda cheesy set up but also a lot genuine?#some really great well rounded characters and exploration of identity; careers/futures; fostering; depression/migranes;#the practice dating thing is silly as a set up but it wasn’t drawn out in a similarly ridiculous way -#they dealt with the complex feelings in a realistic way #in general I enjoyed her figuring out her demisexuality but it falls into that common and frustrating trope of acespec characters conflatin #aro and ace experiences and putting them all under ace. half of the stuff she talks about is romance and relationships and dating and it’s #discussed as being potentially separate things.#(other than her best friend saying maybe you like romance but not sex etc but he never says aro & it doesn't feel like she internalises it)#Obviously personal experience is complicated and not everyone can figure out the differences in their own feelings #but if you’re making the point to talk about asexuality; why not bring up aromanticism?#i get the impression that a lot of these authors don’t even consider it at all; their version of demisexuality encompasses both aro and ace #but they’re not fully conscious of that fact.#also I know I made that pissed off post about this thing the other day which yes was after reading this #BUT i’m not super mad about this book specifically as much as the trend. like it’s fine just….Oh Yay This Again. kind of thing.#also I read the audiobook and just now finding out her name is elle not el shocked me LMAO she should have the more butch version...#hey i also appreciate some calling-parents-by-first-name without it being a Thing #also this cover art is unsettling.

espio would make silver a bouquet and go out of his way to choose flowers specifically for their meanings, and silver would actually know what all the meanings are and find this to be the sweetest and most romantic thing anyone has done ever. espio will be riding this high for months.
