Ansy PKMN Timeline

When I started posting Diamond x Pearl REWRITE on my instagram, I did quite a bit of set up for new readers, including a full timeline for both Ansy & Ikrit. The mister & I (the players behind these characters) have been playing Pokémon since very beginning (though I had a very long break between Blue & Black), & now we play Pokémon together! 🩵

Ansy was born in Kanto, had a very coming-of-age story in Unova, & considers the latter her home region. It’s where Ikrit & she live to this day when they’re not running around other regions (maybe in Nuvema Town, moving from Undella in favor of a little town still near the ocean but more affordable & quiet). She isn’t the strongest battler, but she’s definitely gotten better since Ikrit started training with her. Strange things seem to happen around her though…

Her design is often inspired by the female PC, though she’s often holding an umbrella as her trainer class is usually Parasol Lady (she likes rain teams, mostly Water PKMN). 🌧️ Exceptions are in Blue (Lass) & Sword (Gardener).

PS: So I got confused with which Legendary you got in BW & BW2, so while I just played Black when I realized that’s the one with Reshiram lol, I just rewrote White 2 - I didn’t realize the Reshiram you help in the game was N’s Reshiram, so I pretended it was Ansy’s Reshiram instead (as my hc is that players more befriend Legendaries than catch them like in the anime). 😅

PPS: the time skip between BW & BW2 is officially 3 years, but since I didn’t really want to jump from 10 (when I played Blue) to 22 (when I played Black), I made it about 9 years.

I always think that boss battle themes are actually something less inherent to the world of Pokémon and more like a more modern development to enhance gym battles. The music will play over speakers to add tension to the battle, and even some trainers will play battle music from their phones. So at the subway, the Battle Subway theme would play over the speakers! Volo did make his battle theme as that started to become popular and Cynthia revamped it for her own battles and eventually implemented it in her champion fight. It probably wouldn’t be until Volo volunteers to play his battle theme would people be like: ._. Hey wait a minute

This has probably been asked before, before I’m really curious given yours takes place alongside DP! What is the generals reaction and overall thoughts to trainers with legendary Pokémon?

Whether they’re like Lakota and just… befriended a Mewtwo, so it’s less trainer Pokémon and more a friendship, to actual trainer and Pokémon! Where they battle and go on all sorts of goofy adventures!

Also is there a different reaction to let’s say someone having a Latias, a legendary that’s more “common” and reproduces. To something like a reshiram where there may only be the one? ;0

I go with the personal headcanon that the bigger legendaries like Dialga, Palkia, Groudon, Kyogre, etc. who are classified as gods in the pokemon universe, there can only be one of each (Arceus definitely, cause he's literal God lol). Whereas with the smaller legendaries like Latias, Latios, Lugia, Celebi, etc. there can be multiple. I've never delved too much into the topic, but I'm sure there has to be some form of hierarchy or status ranking amongst the legends.

That being said, it's considered unwise to catch the higher legendaries because they have roles that keep nature and the world itself balanced, so catching them can possibly disrupt that. But with the smaller legendaries, there are likely more occurrences of trainers catching them. It's probably still a rare occurrence to see a traveling trainer walking around with a Latias following them or something though. So naturally, people's reactions would be to gawk or stare in awe. XD

Submas Pokemon Ramble

I've been thinking about their Pokemon as a reflection of themselves because I think Pokemon add to a trainer's personality. I'm pretty sure they share Pokemon, but who they really belong to has me curious.

Rambling under the cut!

From my understanding, Emmet has a penchant for Electric and Bug Pokemon. Or Pokemon that have yellow in their color schemes or are seen as weak/ glass canons. Electric types fit with his outgoing and bold personality. As for Bug, there's been a trend for trainers that specialize in this type to be creative. (Burgh, Viola, Katy, Guzma since he created a gang from nothing.)This extends to Emmet for his love of double battles and the different combinations in battle. The highest form of creativity in battling IMO. (Don't let this man find out about Tera types lol).

Boldore breaks this idea but shhhh. However! It is found in Chargestone Cave... an electric cave.... Also, I'm 50% sure it glows when it attacks but don't quote me on that. Archeops breaks this idea as well but it fits into the glass canon aspect.

The bottom line is the man likes Electric and Bug Pokemon.

But what about Ingo's preference? His team is more diverse in typing since he runs the Singles Line. But the only semblance I can think of is the Pokemon he chooses are stronger/scary-looking. Or the fact they all have a frown like him. In PokeMas, the Karrablast, which has a frown, belonged to him before trading with Emmet. The other explanation is what he represents, i.e. ideals and the need to continuously strive forward. This extends to his ability to train a variety of Pokemon to be the strongest they can be.

The trend sort of follows in PLA but I see his team as a reflection of his subconscious and lost memories. Or just with Emmet in general.

Gliscor - who smiles like Emmet

Magnezone - reminds him of modern technology etc. He's familiar with electric types bc of his brother.

Probopass - which originally was a Nosepass is found in the Coronet Highlands. Its entry states it always faces North which fits his motto of always moving forward

Machamp - The dex entry from Pearl states it can knock a train with a punch. But other than that, with all its limbs, I see it resembling Emmet as well because of his open body language and tendency to swing his arms in the manga.

Tangrowth and Alakazam are a bit harder to place. Alakazam and its line are found in the Icelands, and I think he had just caught the Tangela when we first battled him.

Kleavor - Bug/Rock = Crustle

Wyrdeer looks like Drayden to me I'm sorry lol (Or he uses it to ride around like the player)

Basulegion - Water/Ghost contrasting Chandelure Fire/Ghost

I'm just thinking about this and I'm sure this has been thought of before but this is just my take on their teams!

Edit 1: I just realized Archen/ Archeops reflects Emmet being the representation of Reshiram/realism/truth. Opelucid City changes depending if you play White or Black. But in White’s version the city has rustic architecture. Along with the existence of White Forest instead of the futuristic Black City. Archen/Archeops are fossil Pokémon. They’re prehistoric Pokémon who were revived to the modern day. By who? Emmet of course!

TL;DR I'm reaching like crazy and coming up with reasons Game Freak never thought of haha.

trying to brainstorm cool challenges and gimmicks in pokémon that could make for difficult and interesting moments:

•de-evolution. imagine you’re in the middle of battle and your opponent pulls some devious new trick on you and suddenly your final evo is a baby/teenager again. granted there may be advantages to this in certain situations but generally i think it would be a problem lol. could be a brief temporary issue that lasts the duration of the battle or it could be a thing where it’s actually difficult to get it back up to an evolution level of exp. if not de-evolution it could just be like a reduction in levels and stats. perhaps it even forgets certain moves (but you’re at least prompted to remember older weaker moves)

•arrogant cheating trainer who just keeps sending out more pokémon even after you’ve defeated their six. yes i’m thinking like volo but on crack. just keep going straight up and give no indication of when they’re gonna stop. perhaps it’s even nearly infinite and it’s a fight you’re not actually even supposed to win; just a battle to see how long you can hold out. someone in this universe other than the player character who has several boxes full of pokémon and somehow manages to access those files during battle so they can just draw out hordes of pokémon almost infinitely

•something where you as the trainer temporarily lose the ability to command your pokémon, and for a few turns they just wing it and try using any moves they know on their own. i’m thinking like horrible ai here. you can act otherwise (really just use items) but you can’t call out to your pokémon to either tell them to use moves or to switch them out, and there’s no item to fix whatever happened to make it this way. the reasoning could be something like your pokémon is experiencing a special type of confusion (like a lack of comprehension of human speech. or it could just be temporary deafness), or it could be like some sort of magic barrier got put up in between you two, or someone karate chopped you in the throat and now you can’t speak lol. or there was interference with the bond you two share within your hearts or w/e idk. maybe it was never about physically speaking at all idk how it works. you basically just have to wait and pray for a couple turns in a row that your team can act intelligently on its own. bonus if your success in this is dependent on preexisting friendship/affection

•not even a gimmick just. trainer with a good ai who can use all the same items in battle that you can. including revives. also their mons all have good held items

•again not even a gimmick but. trainers who specialize in a type should have a lot more dual types on their teams

•something where the type chart gets randomly shuffled around- suddenly you actually don’t know what’s super effective against what anymore. every move is a gamble. you click water against fire but reality has been turned 45 degrees today and for some reason fire is immune to water. ice is now good against normal. universe is having a silly goofy day and your ground type gets completely eviscerated by an electric type move. flying is weak to fire. bonus points if this isn’t just like the new normal in whatever gimmick region/game this is, but if it literally does change every time. bonus bonus points if there really is a secret pattern though that you can study to at least give you some idea

As a Pokémon breeder, my Garchomp has just given birth to their NINTH KID and I’m a professor not a breeder! Any tips for this old man?

I don’t breed Gible, so I’d say go to someone who is more experienced with Gible, but from what I know, Garchomp have LOTS of pups throughout their lives even if they’re not being bred. Nine really is not very many. I’d say that if you can, you should see if you can adopt any of the pups off to trainers you can trust! If you can’t, I’m sure a shelter would be willing to take in at least one of the little guys. I specifically don’t fuck with Gible because I know I can’t handle them lol. Good luck man!

I'm not sure they'd get a good score given their gremlin nature, but how about morgrem? I think they'd be neat to keep around if you've got a black thumb (like me lol), but idk.

Let me preface this by saying that I also love morgrems. I love the whole evolution line. That being said, I’m not so sure that keeping a morgrem as a pet would be the best idea.

Morgrems are a good size for a pet, pretty lightweight for their height. Unfortunately, they don’t seem particularly friendly. Disingenuous is the word I’d choose. These mischievous pokémon are quite intelligent, using their charm and crocodile tears to lure people into a false sense of security before striking (Shield, Sword). They are known to falsely apologize for attacking targets in order to bring them in close enough to stab with their “spear-like hair” (Sword). They also have a bit of a history of disappearing people into the woods for unknown reasons (Shield). Unfortunately, morgrems draw strength from negative emotions (Violet). This has made them pretty popular with trainers who tend to think on the gloomy side, but it also incentivizes them to keep an owner in a bad mood. They’re anti-emotional-support pets.

There is one silver lining to morgrems, which you pointed out in your request. Morgrems are said to have a peculiar ability to make crops grow (Shield). This will no doubt make them popular among those who struggle to keep plants alive (those with black thumbs, as you put it), who are willing to look past the species’ antisocial tendencies. This isn’t a very kind-hearted species, so they would likely need some coercion through treats and prizes to get them to help you. I’d say there’s probably other pokémon who would make better gardening partners, but if you love morgrem like I do you’ll be willing to look past that.

Thankfully, morgrems aren’t particularly lethal pokémon. There’s a reason that this species relies so much on trickery to get by: they’re not very confident in their combat abilities (Scarlet). Like the other species on their evolution line, morgrems have sharp, hardened hair that they can use as a weapon, specifically through the spear-like length on the back of their heads. Using this makeshift weapon, morgrems can use a variety of dark-type moves like Foul Play, Assurance, and their signature move False Surrender to menace enemies. We don’t really know if morgrems go out of their way to harm humans through violence, but we do know that you’ll never know when they’re tricking you into a false sense of security to strike. To put it simply, it’s difficult to trust a morgrem. They could hurt you pretty badly if they wanted to.

Morgrems are, at the very least, an acquired taste. While they seem to have the ability to help plants grow, they are sneaky tricksters with a spear built into their hair. My cat often goes into goblin-mode, but adopting an actual goblin might be a step too far. But hey, I love goblins. If you really want to make a pet morgrem work, you could, but they’re certainly not going to be the best fit for every home.

Please tell me about the deltarune pokemon au. I wanna know about the teams

apologies this took me a bit to put together, i have had a Night LOL

this started as just a thing i like to do for a lot of fandoms where i make a handful of pokemon teams for characters, but it’s kind of expanded into its own concept in my head now X) i’ve been watching a lot of pchal’s videos lately and so my image for a full project with this au would likely be a romhack but i doubt it’ll ever actually get made lmao 

basically, you play as kris still in it. they’re beginning their journey as a pokemon trainer a couple years after their brother asriel left on his own. almost all of their party will depend on what the player catches, but they have a starter honedge (can fully evolve it) that you cannot remove from the party. honedge is a fun choice to me because it doubles as both the knife they have in the light world and their weapon being a sword in the dark world.

susie, ralsei, noelle, and berdly are rivals. the latter two are more of the professors assistant (professor is alphys probably) type rivals, though- berdly in particular would focus on filling up his pokédex and would brag about all the pokemon he’s caught. susie is your traditional asshole rival and ralsei your friendly one. the idea i have for noelle is that she is like… a walking glitch cause, lmao. i always loved watching pokemon glitch compilations when i was little and think its a really fun idea for her. it could start with small things- like, a scene in the school where the curtains turn black when she enters and go back to normal when she leaves, up until she starts getting some REALLY weird shit like the bad egg in her party. unsure what exactly the climax would be for that but i think it’ll be really fun to mess with haha

i think that each chapters main boss would be leaders of their own evil team. i could see it like… king leader of team spade and queen leader of team cyber, maybe? rouxls could be a team spade admin (and maybe lancer i initially didn’t think of that but the idea of there being a like 8 year old as an evil team admin makes me lose it) and swatch & tasque manager as team cyber admins.  unfortunately being rouxls brained means i’ve thought quite a bit for him in this au lmao, i think it’d be funny if he was a former member of basically every evil team imaginable but just kept getting kicked out for being incompetent 😭

as for the teams, i currently have

kris with their starter honedge

susie with a final team of hydreigon, hydrapple, druddigon, tyrantrum, scrafty, and toxtricity. all funny lizards, lol. in particular, hydreigon was chosen for a few reasons- one, i’m biased because the deino line is one of my favorites, but also because the progression of deino and zweilous having their eyes covered, the whole ravenously hungry thing, and all that fit susie very well imo. hydrapple was also chosen specifically because of the whole apple thing she has with kris.

ralsei has an umbreon, absol, altaria, cacturne, comfey, and zoroark. i initially wanted to give him a mono dark team but felt altaria and comfey fit him better than my previous picks. umbreon is a cute dark type with a fluffy prevo, absol is a fluffy dark type and i feel that its whole omen of disaster thing fits nicely with ralsei delivering the prophecy, altaria is fluffy + the whole soothing song thing fits well with ralsei’s pacify spell, cacturne looks like his hat lol, comfey is a healer and has the flowers thing like that one fuckass fangamer shirt i think about constantly, and zoroark is fluffy and ralsei himself has his whole mimicry thing going on.

noelle has an alolan ninetales, sawsbuck winter form, venusaur, azumarill, kabutops, and mew. alolan ninetales was chosen because she needs at least one ice type lmao, sawsbuck because Winter Deer, venusaur because a lot of glitch Pokémon will default to using bulbasaur’s sprite due to it being first in the dex, azumarill both because of the transgender marill glitch and the pikablu rumors pre gsc, and kabutops because one of the sprites that missingno can use in gen 1 is a fossil resembling it, and mew because Mew Under The Truck. i really want her team to be mostly themed around glitch/playground runor stuff but i'm a bit worried that these picks aren’t that recognizable/don’t make as much sense for her because of that 😅

rouxls has a leavanny, vivillon (polar), frosmoth, larvesta, dunsparce, and orthworm. leavanny has the Sewing/Caretaker thing as well as being an early bug evo, vivillon polar form in particular looks like him and is an early bug (easy to get), frosmoth is shiny and is a friendship evo meaning it doesn’t take much effort to evolve, larvesta is little worm, dunsparce is worm adjacent and has the whole “useless silly thing” going on as well, and orthworm is big silly worm. i tried to only chose evolutions that wouldn’t require a lot of effort, which is why larvesta and dunsparce are both unevolved. additionally, i didn’t actually realize this til i was sharing the team with gummy and it pointed it out, but he has a couple friendship evos, which is just always fun when evil team members have those lol.

lancer has a gastly, spheal, voltorb, gible, galarian darumaka, and munchlax. silly and round….

the rest i don’t have full teams for yet, but have some sort of idea for

i want king to have a mono dark team, particularly of more imposing pokemon. i currently have him down with a pangoro, obstagoon, and tyranitar. i really want to give him a guzzlord but im unsure how to be able to justify him having an ultra beast in universe haha. maybe the fountains could be like ultra wormholes and each main boss could have one?

queen has an electivire because. wires lol. and also a tsareena because queen pokemon + kick attack + i like it a lot that’s always been one of my favs lol

swatch has a smeargle, staraptor, porygon 2, indeedee, and spritzee (thank you jay for helping me with the last one lol). i still feel like im struggling a bit to find a real direction for their team though :p

i think it would be funny if tasque manager had a team full of luxray but im unsure how much im willing to commit to it lol

in theory i want berdly to be a bird trainer, but he could also fit well with other pokemon like alakazam for his smart boy gimmick. unsure what direction to go for him as well

ah, also! i think it would be very funny if jevil, spamton, and any other secret bosses had their own weird mechanics for fights, but im unsure exactly what. my first thought was jevil’s fight locking you into hardcore nuzlocke rules and spamton trying to steal your pokemon throughout the fight but the first feels a bit too morbid and the second im unsure how that would actually work so XD will probably go for something different there lol. also reminds me, i think it would be fun for the shopkeepers to still be shopkeepers, and each sell different items like tms or held items used for competitive play!

my unhinged rant about how Save Me by Muse is the perfect silver & dad!lance song

okay hi lemme preface with i haven’t played any of the johto games so, all of this is 2nd hand knowledge + headcanons so feel free to correct me!! my evidence will be taken almost entirely from pokemas lol 

!! this is abt game silver and not the pokespe iteration !!

also for my sake i will be referring to silver with she/her pronouns bc it genuinely feels wrong for me to refer to her by anything else. you can criticize any other part of this mini-analysis/rant but if you criticize a headcanon i hold very, very dear to me i will not hesitate to block you :>

okay right off the bat “save me from my superstitions, now i’m free from this old condition” is 100% about silver’s abandonment issues. my poor girl she’s been through so much

“hold me cause i’m sure i’m hated, promises they are overrated” do i even have to say it. it’s explicitly stated in pokemas that she sees herself as an inherently bad person due to her heritage and her previous actions (stealing + mistreating her pokémon). as such, she doesn’t trust ANYONE, including her closest friends, as she worries they’re going to leave if they find the ‘real’ her (the one who is supposedly malicious and cruel and just like her father).

(the scene when lance is trying to convince her to go find ho-oh with the MC + the gang / johto villain arc when she’s asked to not face giovanni alone). the analysis writes itself.

“wait just a while, while i’m drowning in denial”. i really love this lyric in relation to silver and her father - just a quiet ‘wait’. she’s getting there. she’s not a good person yet, she’s trying so hard, she’s not there yet. she doesn’t know if she CAN be a good person, hence drowning in denial. but once again it’s lance that picks up his daughter and says that she’s drowning in DENIAL; silver is a good person, she’s just having a hard time seeing it.

(a day with SS silver if i remember right, discussing the actions of team rocket back in johto and how she sees herself in relation to those actions / once again, lance convincing silver that she should go to find ho-oh)

“watch me, cause i’m on a mission”do i even have to say anything??? team rocket radio tower. lance’s original dialogue in GSC about being worried for silver. her never-ending quest to be the strongest also factors in here.

(johto arc again, saying how she’s going to take on team rocket alone, much to the dismay of the johtrio)

“hold me back, so i’m forced to listen” can be taken a few different ways. i like to see it as she needs to be held back by her friends/family from throwing herself headfirst into both team rocket headquarters and self-doubt spirals. we know she has a vitriol for TR, so i 100% see her trying to enact her own justice by taking them down on her own (much like her pokespe counterpart). HOWEVER i do think it can be taken more metaphorically, with her having to be forced to listen to the facts; people love her and she’s not going to be abandoned for perceived weakness. 

(lance convincing silver / johto arc / i forgot where this was whoops 💀 i think it’s paulo related, anyways she lost to lance and he said “great battle! you almost had us.” she responds with this, which highlights what she needs to be held back from: her self-deprecation when she’s a formidable trainer in her own right.)

“don’t let me go, ‘cause i’m nothing without you” does NOT feel like a silver line in the slightest lmao. she’s proven herself to be very independent. however i do think you can read this as her taking to her pokémon here. even with her threats of leaving them behind, she never does. her SS story is explicit in stating that she is developing herself for the sake of her pokémon.

“turn me into someone like you” just SCREAMS silver and lance. sure, she hates him initially, but it’s ultimately out of envy. how is HE so powerful? how is HE able to talk to her about strength when HE doesn’t know half of the things she’s done to survive? doesn’t know the lingering, taunting pain that is being beaten at every turn and still refusing to make the same mistakes your father did by never abandoning a pokémon? sure, she parrots it a lot, but when does silver’s team change? when do we ever see her straight-up abandon a pokémon? she desperately craves his strength, yes, but in the end what she also really wants to be is a trainer people can be proud of. she wants to stop hiding in her hole of self-loathing and worries that she’ll only be a repeat of giovanni and just wants to have a legacy she can be proud of. (does anyone have that line of lance saying the cape is almost like a dragon master uniform? cus that’s what i mean to put here.) she wants a background she can be part of, something to embrace, not to be ashamed of.

admittedly, “find a place that we can go to, run away and take me with you” are less strong when it comes to silver herself. she very much does NOT want to run away, she knows the pain of abandonment all too well. i do think, though, that she would want pure privacy in moments of vulnerability, so when saying something along the lines of the previous lyric (‘turn me into someone like you’) and explaining the reasoning behind her actions (it’s trauma), she’d much rather do it with nobody else around. we all know how she feels about weakness, after all.

a day with silver and ho-oh(?), talking about how much she can still grow)

“don’t let go, i need your rescue” is just. can we please appreciate how good this song is? okay cool, back to business. this is definitely a post-arc silver, where she’s less afraid to express her need for safety. even without her arc, it’s once again a callback to one of her most traumatizing moments: being left by giovanni. she’s never really gotten over that fear of being left behind, and all she really is, is a scared little girl desperately calling out to her father. she’s terrified. but to be terrified is to be weak and weakness will get you left behind, so she covers it up with a rude exterior. finally letting those walls down is her ultimate show of strength, revealing how clingy she can be just to feel safe and reassured. and to share that with her father, to have lance be the dad she always needed, it just warms my heart :)

Think I gotta go with some kinda Pokémon ROM Hack wherein the characters of FF7 (Crisis Core preferably lol; I luv my Sane!Seph!) go through the events of the game, except they’re obviously all Pokémon Trainers with their own distinct teams 🤣❤️ Each gym leader is a different timestamp in the story: Gym 1 can be Fort Tamblin, Gym 2 Banora, Gym 3 Hollander, etc!! <3 Perhaps Angeal can even pass down an egg of his partner Pokémon after defeating him…? >:3c Perhaps Minerva is the blessed legendary that Genesis is seeking <3 Perhaps Jenova is the other legendary and, depending on whether you’re able to defeat her the first time or not, you can save Sephiroth from going insane!~ Evil team can be ShinRa, ofc, with Hojo/the Prez being the leader 🤣 Aerith can be someone who periodically heals you along the way, with Cloud being that Wally-esque rival who’s training alongside ya!~ And, ofc, because this is me, it ends with everyone safe and sound from ShinRa’s clutches <33 CREDITS ROLL LOL!

special announcement!!

I’ve finally decided on the final member of our team!! Her name is Crystal, and she’s a young Alolan Vulpix.

She has a particularly special story, in that I adopted her from a shelter for Pokémon rescued from less-than-good environments. Crystal specifically had a Trainer who was not taking care of her properly. Because of this she’s very shy and anxious around humans, hence why I haven’t posted a picture of her (yet! Hopefully soon she’ll be more comfortable with us).

It’s definitely going to be a big change considering how recently Astrid was born, but I definitely think this is the right final member of our team! Plus, Cherry absolutely adores the little creature—when we first met her at the adoption center a month or so ago she instantly decided that she loved Crystal lol.

So yeah!! Crystal definitely isn’t going to be the last Pokémon I train, but since I have a full team now, we’re going to take our focus away from training to focus on caring for Astrid and Crystal, at least until they’re bigger.

I’ll post updates as they happen!!

Okay so with all the stuff Arcues ark master starting and all the promotion around it makes me think that we’re going to be getting more characters with Arcues fits and we might be getting one for each, so here are the characters I would pick while both keeping in line the theme that’s going on these being trainers with strong vans with their Pokémon and also being realistic with what the Pokémon company could probably pick

Fire: either red or Leon, both could work thematically, both are popular, and both have the Pokémon company’s third fav Pokemon Charizard

Psychic: Lillie, she loves nebby with all her heart and would anything for them! So give her Lunala Or Solgaleo

Fairy: sycamore come on guys he studies, mega evolution. This would work so well

Dark: Arven, WE ALL SAW WHAT HE DID FOR HES DOG!

Electric: N, has a very unique bond with his Pokémon due to being able to understand what they’re saying, (and also my man is popular)

Ice: irida, do to being from Hisui her connection with her Pokémon will be very different than the rest of the characters and she is outright said that glaceon is like a sister to her 

Grass: Adamin same case as irida, plus they’re likely not going to do one without the other

Ghost: Lear, now I know this one is probably unlikely, but I think it would be interesting. Considering a good chunk of the beginning of Pokémon master story was about this guy learning to no longer be the worst and now him, and hoopa are back to being besties 

I think the very last person to get an outfit during all of this is probably going to be Rai whether he’s going to be paired up with arcuse or not who knows so either he’ll be a bonus 19th one or he’ll be taking the normal type 

I’ll probably come back and add some of the other characters and some of the other types later when I think of stuff currently it’s 2:27 in the morning lol

((i shift into Play Pokémon mode again)) oooh ok so in any game i enjoy periodically returning to the home town and visiting the player’s mom and stuff. the last few times i visited mom in nuvema town i was kinda surprised by how flippant her dialogue was. it was like ‘ok now that that’s taken care of better get back your journey!’ like hi honey get out of here?? anyway i’m not sure exactly which story event triggered it buuut now she has more interesting things to say

she comments on cheren and bianca and hoping they’re finding themselves on their journeys too (i care them!!!). she talks about what makes a good trainer (someone who cares a lot about their pokémon). she directly mentions the player’s father having gone on a pokémon journey once (yet not where he is now. lol) i love to see it!!!!!!

Okay!! I finally wrote out some hcs for the mer AU for Colress and Faba—

-Both Faba and Colress are royalty (princes) but of different kingdoms.

-Colress’ kingdom lives in deeper, darker and more open water and therefore mer living there dress more defensively than Faba’s clan does, putting practicality above aesthetics. They’re used to being on the look out for and wrestling with larger predators such as Gyarados. Colress has the ability to discharge electricity from his tail and uses it to defend against these predators as well as aid in his inventions. Lantern’s electricity also helps with this- and lights up the dark. Speaking of! Colress has some bio luminescence markings on his tail which constantly emit a soft glow.

-Meanwhile Faba’s kingdom lives in warmer, shallower water— they’re more used to the sun and less used to dealing with predators, so dress to impress with little armour. If any Pokémon become aggressive, Faba has poisonous spines which come in useful to either get them to back off or kill them outright. Against the large predators that live around Colress’ kingdom however, his spines are close to useless. It takes time and a very harsh lesson for his ego to realise this, however. (Bro gets nibbled)

-There are a few other kingdoms dotted around nearby as well… but to be honest I haven’t given them much thought. Maybe Team Skull could be hanging around somewhere in the depths— although they’d be less of a kingdom and more of a band of bandits or something. At least, they definitely wouldn’t be living in palaces lol. More like… a cave.

-In this au Pokémon aren’t kept in Pokéballs, and just sort of… live with their trainers, coming and going as they please. Faba has a few companions: Bruxish, Starmie, Seadra and occasionally Primarina. Colress has Lanturn, Relicanth, Lumineon, and occasionally Empoleon. Empoleon in the mer universe are among the most highly revered Pokémon, and when he discovers Colress’ family has earned the favour of one, Faba is soooo jealous.

-Relations between Elios (Faba’s kingdom) and Achromas (Colress’ kingdom) are tense. A marriage is arranged between the two of them to avoid war, strengthen trade routes, and generally keep the peace.

-Faba appreciates Colress’ respectfulness towards him, but on their wedding night makes it very clear their marriage is in name alone and he has no intention of taking Colress as a mate. Colress is just mildly amused by this strange little man and how defensive he is even though Colress hasn’t made any moves on him, but respects Faba’s wishes for space. All the space in the world can’t save Faba from Colress’ relentless curiosity and endless questions about him and life in shallower water though. They end up agreeing to allow one another three questions a night, for the sake of Faba’s sanity.

-Faba refuses to share a nest. They have to travel between their two kingdoms fairly regularly to fulfil their duties, but always build and sleep in separate nests no matter whose palace they’re staying in. Faba prefers a soft bed of sea grass, and Colress, being more accustomed to the scarce plant life of the depths, prefers sand with perhaps a tiny bit of sea grass to soften the texture. Also, living in an area with so many predators he tends to build the walls of his nest quite high, and constructs a little alcove for himself to make for a more concealing resting place. Not that he needs to- he’s in a well-guarded palace- but instinct, y’ know?

-Colress’ species are hermaphrodites (can either carry or help another conceive young— I rlly hope I got that title right lol), so there isn’t much variation in body types aside from fat level. As a result gender isn’t really a thing in his kingdom, although most mer tend to pick a pronoun and stick with it for convenience. Colress being Colress, isn’t one of these mers. He uses any and all pronouns/royal titles: e.g. Prince, or Princess… although her servants usually just refer to her as ‘Majesty’.

-Colress is responsible for inventing most of the technology within her kingdom. She’s well liked for her inventions, but also her polite disposition.

-Faba on the other hand is despised for his rude attitude and sharp personality.

-Colress is the only mer who can make Faba laugh. At first it frustrates him, but he quickly becomes endeared. Colress likewise is endeared to Faba, because they think he’s so fun. I’ve said it before in vanilla universe hcs, but Colress does like spicy personalities~

-Their marriage was only in name, but eventually Faba finds himself wanting to actually take Colress as a ‘true’ mate. But he’s too stubborn to admit it. Colress is also beginning to feel that way as well, but remembering Faba’s very adamant stance on not wanting to become actual mates, keeps their pining to themselves.

-After Colress saves Faba from a Gyarados attack and sticks with him even after his debilitating injuries (tail fin shredded poor guy, swimming long distances is now exhausting for him), he finally does feel secure enough admit his feelings though.

-Colress eagerly accepts when Faba asks, of course.
