was just softly swaying along to some music to calm myself down from a stressful morning and got hit with the visceral memory of being in high school and my teachers reprimanding me for subconsciously rocking back and forth (or touching my throat, or twisting my hair, or intensely fidgeting with my fingers) to soothe my nerves during oral exams… if only there was a name for such activities. :) yet not one but two separate doctors were like “hmmm but you still got good grades which is something no neurodivergent people achieve. bitch what the fuck is stimming i’ll kill you. :)”
