7- SUMIRE/VIOLET REDESIGNS MY BELOVEDS god y'all don't know how i love em. As much as i love the canon outfit they SHOULD'VE given her a redesign, small as it may be. Love it when people give her different hairstyles too, shout-out to the short hair sumis out there i love every single one of em. I'm not a part of em personally but i believe in their beliefs.
Also extra shout-out to that one Transmasc Sumire post I think about it always and i love that for him. in love tbh.
7.5 i need more positivity after last post - When people see her past the "hello senpai uwu im so cutesey and shy" personality and treat her issues like they do, say, Akechi's for example. She's an interesting character guys they couldve done so much with her, she isn't just the Badly Interwoven Royal Marketable Plushie guys plea
8- Probably the inverse of the 7.5 point AND when they make her just "akeshu's child" or "akeshu's thirdwheel" or just. make her revolve around them, yknow? ESPECIALLY when it's Royal Trio stuff. She would be mildly concerned about their Doomed Yaoi Swag, of course, but it wouldn't be her sole character trait. Also, when they make her into this permanent doormat-type, fragile little girl. Please, Sumire literally asks Makoto to teach her how to physically clock a bitch in the Theives Den, she's the first one who rushes into battle during Maruki's palace before The Revelation (AND she's verbally told to slow down by AKECHI), she kills three shadows SINGLEHANDEDLY during the intro to the game WHILE LANDING BACKFLIPS. ON HEELS. Sumire is by no means weak or shy in battle and she would be willing to knock a man unconscious if need be.
12 (except it's multiple bc i love her) - She'd be a featherman fan. Maybe not a fanatic, but she'd enjoy the show greatly! She'd also like Disney movies (though not the company itself because Fuck Disney) and taught herself how to pirate TV shows and films so that she could enjoy them in her spare time. Lastly i think she'd enjoy sewing, while Kasumi would have enjoyed embroidering. Two sisters fixing and embelishing clothes, two parts of a whole, you feel me?
12.5 - She's 16 during Royal. Listen, i know she's a first year, but it is stated IN GAME that "the girl who died [Kasumi] was 15" and Sumire is brainwahsed by Maruki on the twins' birthday (according to the wiki) so she would be 16 instead of 15 and that innacuracy drives me a little nuts i think. However we know that fandom wikis aren't the end all be all of characetr info so correct me if i'm wrong
15- I guess i enjoy shu/sumi and sumi/taba* sometimes – their stuff can be rly cute tbh – but i think we were robbed of a bond between Akechi and Sumire. They're the only two theives who arent really members of the theives (Sumire being openly against their methods since they'd make society over-rely on them, Akechi being Akechi), They're both people who pretended to be someboy they weren't because of a single man who thought himself holy, they reunited with eachother at their realest moment (Akechi being Crow, Sumire awakening to who she really is). Akechi would have the opportunity to open himself up at his own pace with her instead of traumadumping to strategically get closer to chosen people, Sumire would get to be more walls-down and feel bad instead of just pretending to be ok. Sumire would learn to be more blunt with others and Akechi would get to be less defensive and mellow down. They're both more honest with eachother than with other people. do you see the vision?
Now i wouldn't say i ship them, moreso i see a Warriors Bond between them where saying friends is too simple but neither would want to kiss eachother on the mouth like That by any means (That is a Gay Man and a Lesbian your honor). They're two ppl who have their worst moments near eachother for an hour and then proceed to cuddle on the couch watching featherman to calm down.
(also because a full on romantic ship would be a little weird considering their ages and all)

Hi, it is true that erehisu was going to be canon but the writer decided to change it in the last chapters to eremika?
Hello anon,
nobody is in Isayama’s mind, so nobody has a definitive answer. However, as a reader I think the answer is no.
Eren and Mikasa’s relationship was always meant to be a key one in the series.
First of all, Mikasa is one of the three MC, while Historia is not. Usually relationships among MCs are bound to be more important story-wise and more emotionally charged than those among other characters.
Of course they do not have to be romantic, but in Eremika’s case... it has always been obvious that Mikasa’s feelings for Eren were romantically-coded. Sure, they were not just that, but romance was a part of it that became more and more obvious as the story went on. And this makes sense imo because as one grows, they are gonna be pursuing romantic relationships more clearly.
If one had any doubts, Mikasa and Eren’s interaction in the Clash of the Titans arc is clearly a love confession:

She is literally blushing. And Eren’s answer to this confession is not a refusal:

He is basically saying he will affirm their bonds forever...
At the same time, Eren answering to Mikasa’s intimate confession with violence and fighting is symptomatic of Eren’s flaw and inability to accept vulnerability. It is not by chance that he is honest about his feelings for Mikasa with Armin, rather than Mikasa herself. It is because in the end he can’t really be completely vulnerable. This is why they can’t end up together (thematically).
Finally, if someone still had doubts, this scene should have cleared them:

Eren is basically asking for Mikasa to declare her love for him once more... Again the scene is romantically coded... Mikasa is clearly blushing and the whole chapter shows that Mikasa regrets she could not confess her feelings to Eren then.
In short, Mikasa and Eren have been romantically coded since the beginning. Sure, this does not mean it had to automatically result in the two characetrs loving each other in the end, but it was clear that it was meant to be key.
Finally, their bond is not simply a subplot... it is literally the main plot. The title of the first chapter is not about Eren, but about Mikasa and Ymir. The one who answers Ymir’s call is Mikasa in the end and this was clearly planned.

Because I Finished Binging Persona 4 Golden About A Month Ago And I’m Still Not Over It:

So hi everyone. Yes, I still exist. No, I’ve not become Cryptid 2.0 just yet. (If we’re being perfectly honest I probably should have put that on the last Mod answer I did. Oh well.)
Anyway, this year has been... well you all know. However, there was at least one golden ray of hope amidst the sea of despair. 
As the title suggest, I’m of course referring to Persona 4 Golden’s port to Steam.

I LOVED this game. Absolutely adored it. And it clearly wasn’t just me; the response this port got has seemed to catch Sega’s attention. We can only hope, but I think this may mean more ports in the future. About time.
Now, obviously after playing this game I got to thinking a bit. Specifically, what if the Persona users ended up in Hope’s Peak? What would their ultimate titles be? How would they interact with other members of the DR cast (not including DRV3. Still haven’t played it, know all about the plot but not enough about the characters to figure out interactions here)? So, I’m going to go over that right here, in the first of a... okay a many many part post.
Yeah, I know, kinda a let down that I can’t have it all at once but as I was writing it up I realized that this was going to end up being huge. I couldn’t do it all in one post. I thought that maybe I could then divide it by game and have three posts, but as I finished doing just two members of SEES I realized that wouldn’t work either. There’s just too much to write about. So, due to this, I’ll be doing a single post per character and when it comes to relationships with canon characetrs I’m going to try and limit the amounts of characters to just 3 to 5, depending on how much there is to say.
Anyway, without further ado,
Presenting: SEES, the Investigation Team and the Phantom Thieves as SHSLs/Ultimates!
(The title isn’t exactly amazing I know.)
Group 1: SEES
Part 1: The Protagonist(s)
Makoto Yuki/Minato Arisato/Hamuko Yuki/Minako Arisato: 
SHSL Luck/Ultimate Lucky Student: I figure this makes sense for all the Wildcards. In Makoto’s/Hamuko’s case specifically, we got the fact that they survived the car crash that killed their parents, we got the fact that they were ‘lucky’ enough to end up in the Velvet Room and be a Wildcard and ‘lucky’ enough (or unlucky) to be caught up in the Dark Hour insanity. Plus the ‘luck’ of being able to find meaning to life again with SEES. 
Alternative SHSL/Ultimate: -While I was hoping to do this for all the Wildcards, we happen to run into a major issue from the start. Simply put, it is VERY difficult to think up an alternative talent for these two due to how their Social Links and personality choices are. None of the clubs they join can really be argued is ‘their’ amazing talent and unlike Yu they aren’t exactly the most... sociable/friendly of the Wildcards. At least Makoto isn’t given his portrayal in spin-offs and other media that give him his own voice and just general dialogue options (I’m pretty sure there are more harsh ones for him than there are for Yu). I can only assume similar for Hamuko. And as much as I kinda want to, SHSL/Ultimate Savior only works if they aren’t actually around and are busy being a door. Plus the people who decide on that wouldn’t know that they’re busy being a door. So yeah, gonna have to leave this one empty sadly.
Unlike Makoto’s hilarious stream of Lucky/Unlucky incidents and Nagito’s own INSANE cases, Makoto and Hamuko are rather... ‘normal’ for Lucky Students. In fact, one would think they’d be reserve course students. The truth is very few people besides themselves even realize the full ‘depth’  to their luckiness. If anyone else even. I have no doubt the Steering Committee is quite annoyed about this and questions if the raffle messed up somehow this year. In addition, this means that there is a LOT of enmity from all sides towards these two. The Reserve Course despises them because these two are basically just them just having been lucky enough to win the raffle AND NOTHING ELSE. On the other side, there are plenty in the Talent Course who look down on them even more than a typical lucky student. And it doesn’t help that at least in Makoto’s case he would likely not bother going to far out of his way to try and bridge any gaps with these people.
Major relationships within the DR cast: From the get-go we know that as Wildcards these two are potentially limitless in ideas for interaction with characters and forming relationships. Bearing that in mind, I think there are a few very specific characters they’d have some connection to: -Hajime Hinata: As stated above, the ‘luck’ that Makoto and Hamuko have is very different from the typical lucky student’s and they don’t even seem to fit the ‘ultimate’ moniker. As such, I could seem them gravitating towards Hajime due to simply feeling like they really don’t belong here, even more than Makoto (Naegi) and unlike a lot of the reserve course, Hajime just doesn’t seem like the type of guy to really fault them for winning the raffle. Bonus in Makoto’s (Yuki) case as he just drips sarcasm and bit of apathy and I imagine he’d get along well with Hajime’s own personality.  -Sonia Nevermind and Gundham Tanaka: Assuming a full crossover with personas, the full collective unconscious and such, both Sonia and Gundham would have a very similar fascination with these two. Sonia’s interest in the occult would make her very interested in any Wildcard and the tarots that they inevitably would have her draw if she tried (like Igor). While that may be slightly interesting to Gundham though there is a far more pressing matter for him. Because if he does have some supernatural connection there is no doubt in my mind he’d somehow catch on to these two harboring death and be very interested in it. -Junko Enoshima: Junko is... difficult to figure out here. On the plain surface (or in a crossover without the supernatural bits of Persona) there’s no reason Junko should have any special interest in these two over anyone else without having very special knowledge that not even freaking Itkutski seemed to have. On the other hand, should Junko find out about their wildcard and how it works she would be keeping a VERY close eye on them, realizing that she cannot leave them be since their S.Links would be far too dangerous against despair. And then there’s the giant elephant in the room. Should Junko discover that the two are harboring the literal manifestation of humanity’s desire for death there is no way in hell Junko would ever ignore that. And considering the BS Junko is able to pull, I could conceive it possible that she would somehow find out. As such, I would put it like this. If Junko never finds out about their ‘gifts’ she wouldn’t care. If she found out about the Wildcard somehow and what it meant (I don’t know, Nyarlothep decides to be a bit more involved in his bet with Philemon and pushes Junko in the right direction) she’d be very on top of them, perhaps even actively sabotaging their abilities to form S.Link or trying to break them, thereby inflicting a decent bit of psychological damage to them and thinking that could drive them to despair (which I don’t think it could since Makoto at least would be far too apathetic to really be in despair but that’s a bit up to interpretation how such things would affect a wildcard). Should she find out about Death, then all hell breaks loose as she would try and probably team up with someone like Ikutski to make The Fall occur for the ultimate final despair. Because not even the Tragedy was the absolute end of the world. The Fall though? That’s game over. -Nagito Komaeda: Nagito is yet another difficult option. If he knew what was really going on with them he would probably worship the ground the step on, even moreso than most ‘Ultimates’. However, he doesn’t have a reason to (though with his BS luck who knows, he may accidentally stumble onto all the secrets). Without knowing, we get into a problem. Nagito already looks down on himself as not being a ‘real’ ultimate. So, how does he look at other lucky students? I need to sit down and watch DR3 and see if there are any major interactions between him and Makoto before Makoto becomes the Ultimate Hope and see how he treats him. Even if he does treat him well though, Makoto at least has very obvious cases of good/bad luck even if it isn’t on the level of Nagito’s. These two though? It would be near non-existent. And that maybe enough to cause Nagito to despise them, perhaps even more than his disgust towards the Reserve Course. These two won the raffle and yet show as much ‘talent’ as a reserve course student? I could see him looking at it as a bigger mockery than the reserve course itself. As such, there would for sure be something there with Nagito but I can’t be certain if it would be a decent relationship with another lucky student or an animosity that’s the worst we’d ever seen from him.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #16-18 Thoughts

Previous thoughts here. 
This arc is a mixed bag.
Previous arcs of RYV tended to give one of the family members more priority than the others. It wasn’t exactly that we’d have an MJ arc then a Peter arc then an Annie arc exactly, but which characters got more focus did shift around. The Venom arc for example was more MJ’s story with Peter playing support and Annie more in the background. The X-Men arc was more Annie’s arc with her parents splitting the second fiddle role.  The penultimate arc before the time skip was another more Annie centric storyline, actually probably the most Annie centric story since issue #3.
Houser’s opening arc put the spotlight on each family member culminating in Annie herself, but Annie was still being developed through Peter and MJ’s eyes in those issues. This made a lot of sense since she’d be the most important thing to either of them and we already know who Peter and MJ are. Even if they’re 8 years older that’s not going to amount to them being as significantly different as the now teenaged Annie whom we’d not yet met.
This arc is another Annie centric arc which initially seems like Peter is going to be an important backup player, sort of like how the Venom arc was MJ’s arc first and foremost but Peter still played an important role. This was indicated by us getting Peter and Annie’s thought captions in issue #16 and the story revolving around Peter working at Annie’s school.
Issue #17 drops Peter’s captions and point of view and the story becomes Annie’s totally now revolving around her two new friends abruptly introduced at the end of issue #16. Peter however had three poignant scenes in the book implying that going forward he would be an important character to the pay off the arc. This did not happen because issue #18 thrusts forward with the story about Annie and her new friends, now with Normie as an important player. Peter shows up but only as part of the ‘parental collective’ alongside MJ and gets just one scene with just him and Annie at the end of the book, which serves to simply reiterate the sentiments from the earlier scene with MJ and to payoff that Annie and him are more at ease about both being at Midtown High.
Now there are two ways of interpreting all this.
The optimistic and diplomatic way is that the arc is about Annie growing more independent via forming a new friendship group. Issue #16 nicely sets up that Annie, like many teenagers, is trying to find where she belongs in the high school jungle as she and her old friends have drifted apart as unfortunately happens as kids grow older. Her Dad’s continuously diminishing role across the issues as her relationships with her new friends (and old friend Normie, whom she reconnects with which is maybe pay off to what I just talked about) grows is symbolic of her becoming more independent as she grows up.
The more cynical view is that...this arc is just disjointed. That Houser wanted to set up the status quo of Peter at Midtown high and dedicated the first part of the arc to that but also had it half act as a transition into the meat of the arc, which is about Annie befriending Lacey and Reece...oh but Normie is also involved too.
Unfortunately I’m inclined to think the latter is more likely.
It almost feels like Houser was seeking to set up the general status quo for the family in her first arc running through issues #13-15, then was setting up Annie’s personal status quo with this arc.
Like imagine this was not a Spider-Man family title but a Spiderling title. You establish her school, her social situation, her Dad being a teacher, her older friend in Normie. The only thing you arguably don’t have set up here is her parents or the fact that they are superheroes but that’s because you’ve already read the previous issues. Heck issue #16 even has Annie swinging solo on the cover, almost like it could be the cover to a Spiderling solo book.
The focus upon Peter in issue #16 feels like I dunno...lip service to the fact that this supposed to be a team book and not an Annie solo book.  Feeling exacerbated as his presence diminishes as the arc goes on. It wouldn’t be that bad perhaps if the arc supplanted his presence with MJ’s but that doesn’t happen. MJ is a slightly more distant third fiddle in this arc.
Now conceptually having an arc so focused upon Annie isn’t all bad. If you looked at Houser’s run and the post time-skip era in isolation, dedicating a focus arc to her and her status quo makes a lot of sense. However considering the arc just before the time skip gave her the lion’s share of panel time and she’s also had a lot of play in the X-Men arc and Conway’s opening arc AND how Houser’s opening arc dedicated a lot of time to developing Annie...you see where I’m going with this.
She’s stealing too much lime light from Peter and MJ at this point, even if this arc was hypothetically afforded them more panel time.
But how does this connect with those two points I raised up top?
Connected with this is the issues raised from the time skip itself.
When the time skip was announced the big criticisms surrounding it mainly revolved around:
a)      The jump abandoned the status quo we’d been building for 12 issues b)      Making Annie a teen is derivative of Spider-Girl/Mayday Parker
Jameson and the Bugle are used organically for what little they show up. Jonah also looks noticeably aged, although that does raise the question of why nobody else does.
Annie is well characetrized and believable as a teenager who is both unreasonable about the cringe factor of her Dad teaching at her school and well over her head in getting mixed up with Lacey and Reece. Her growth in the story is also done well as she has to become more akin to a parent and grows to accept her Dad’s place at her school. Fundamentally Annie is played as a nice balance between trying to be responsible but tripped up by youthful arrogance and deep need for independence. Does that remind you of anyone Spider-Man fans?
·         Houser continues to play Peter Parker, out of touch Dad (complete with Dad jokes), believably
·         MJ as the mediator between Peter and Annie also feels very believable for the characters
·         The mugging scene was funny
·         Houser throws shade at Slott’s shitty Peter Parker paparazzi arc
·         Peter being a teacher again is lovely although it’s in a different field to what he was teaching in the JMS run. This is actually a good way of allowing something comfortingly familiar yet also unique for RYV, and is possibly set up for Houser to use going forward. Best of all it comes out of relatable financial problems that have been common to Spider-Man since day 1.
·         Annie adopting a tech role in the school drama club is an eloquent way of having her find something that’s both a reference to her mother and father’s passions
·         All of conversations between Peter and MJ and between Annie and her parents were done well...with one sort of exception but we will get there
·         Bringing Normie back into the picture, for all the problems I discussed, is an eloquent way of reinstating him into the post time-skip status quo and his reconnection with Annie brings things full circle from Annie’s other friends drifting away
·         The Normie flashbacks were adorable
I’ll get this out of the way...Mister Sinister. Let’s put aside how so far he’s done nothing in the book, his presence in a Spider title is just unwanted·         Peter, even in issue #16 where he is more present, feels rather...undermined. I’m trying to figure out a more political correct way of saying this besides ‘Peter is kind of a Beta here’ but off the top of my head I just can’t. It just doesn’t feel right when Peter is played as immature as his teenage daughter to the point where he ignores a crime in progress and is insulted along with his daughter by MJ, or where Annie is angrily telling him off when he’s in costume in school and he passively just agrees with it. This was something knocking around a little bit in the previous arc when Logan was telling him off in issue #13 too and was sort of there a little bit under Conway. Its never been as bad as here though, but I guess it’s a nitpick at the end of the day. Heck the MJ comedy bit was very funny for what it was.·         Stockman’s art isn’t bad and is pretty similar to Roche’s from the previous arc. But there is this unrefined quality to it. It’s not as good as his issue #5 art and of course such a major step down from Stegman. Also it dipped noticeably in issue #18·         The kids turning out to be if not bad then on the dangerous side was incredibly predictable·         The resolution was seriously not great. Reece having feelings for Lacey was not set up until the issue where it was going to become the key to resolving the plot, it should’ve been introduced earlier. In fact the entire Reece/Lacey plot shouldn’t have been brought up towards the end of issue #16 but played out throughout that issue. Similarly the end of the three issues randomly telling us that Lacey and Reece’s abilities had totally faded was trite and far too convenient. Throwing a line in earlier on, even the issue before, that the powers might be temporary would’ve alleviated things.·         Peter and MJ’s confronting Annie in part 3 was a nice scene but the ending where they just pat themselves on the back and say ‘we did good’ felt rote and not really true. A sign the arc was kind of falling apart a bit towards the end.
  Over all I’d give this arc a C-

Control codes are very interesting to me cos its another one of those things that I was like ‘WHAT THE FUCK’ when i realized it wasn’t just an rpgmaker thing and that actual tiple A rpgs all use the same sort of systems too. Like when I started hacking Pokemon Platinum to find evidence of my dumb grandpa headcanons and found out they use the same sort of overworld grid programming like all animated items being characters in disguise instead of tiles, all more than one tile size animated objects actually being one tile with an image size larger than its own tile, and all the text for any given conversation being contained inside the character who talks first, just with codes like ‘grab characetr 2 and make them move while character 1 says ‘character 2: says the thing’‘. Srsly, so hard to explain out of context, lol...! This is why the pokemon hacking is good as a comparison! Well basically the lava pool tiles in Stark Mountain are actually big 3D objects spawned by one singular tile in the middle, so they deactivate and leave a big void if there’s an error with it loading. You can also walk thru all of the tiles except the one in the middle, cos you can’t walk through characters. And that’s also why walk thru walls is hard to use for the Rotom Room event, cos the entire dissappearing wall is actually three or so characters that just have the sprites of a wall and two fake black background squares. Its interesting cos the wall dissappears, fake black background 1 dissappears, and fake black background 2 changes sprites into a door! So you can’t get through that door at all even if you manage to walk through another wall in the same area and take the long way around. I think nintendo just wanted to spite me personally by making it only the actual event I wanted to find that used this Super Extra way of programming everything! XD oh and also in grandpa’s first scene his character event literally does not do anything, it’s really just Mars’s character saying “Charon: [dialogue]” and he’s basically a floating sprite changing here and there and pretending to be a real overworld object. The player could never reach that side of the table so nobody would ever know, lol!
Anyway this article is more about specifically dialogue control codes, which is another thing that I got used to doing in rpgmaker and was surprised to know that I’d accidentally developed a skill that’s used in general programming for every game genre ever! It’s also like The One Big Reason I Do Not Like Pokemon Essentials, aside from also the very limited sprite size that’s only suited for gen 3 and 4 styled fangames. Pokemon essentials does not let you use ANY control codes except [playername]. That’s fuckin it. Not a flaw in the plugin itself but rather just the fact that its only compatible with like THE oldest version of rpgmaker, before control code functionality advanced a lot. but its really especially awkward for pokemon fangames cos it means you can’t have any dialogue that reflects your gender choices- stuff like /F[she] or whatever isn’t possible. And it can also cause awkwardness in the standard dialogue of stuff like the move deleter, cos you’d have to program a bunch of ‘conditional branch: if [move] play [version of event with that move name], if [other move] play [entire cloned process of events written out all over again with one line of dialogue changed]’. So people could technically do gendered dialogue like that but its generally considered too much work considering how often a pronoun would come up :/ So yeah that’s what a control code is! You can just write some random shortcut like /n or [NAME] and it’ll autocorrect that to whatever the variable is, instead of having to make multiple text boxes containing the whole sentence including the change. Now you know that it exists, it can be interesting to look back and try and find the earliest games that didn’t allow you to name your character, or let you name them but never brought it up again in dialogue. That could be the key to figuring out when that control code was first introduced into gaming! Could be fun to try and find out what the earliest control codes were, and what order they all became commonplace and stuff? And I wonder if any other elements of programming didn’t exist for ages? Like were rpgs the first things with grid based overworld systems, or hell, did some early rpgs not make their overworlds in the same way, and it was just created as a shortcut after several game generations had passed...? man i cant imagine how hellish it would be to have to program each individual background element into a coherant whole, in the first ever game that had done such a thing...

Process behind final movie poster

I first ‘scanned the drawing I did on paper into photoshop. I didnt actually scan it as I didnt have one, so I had to improvise and take a photo. I mean it worked so I see nothing wrong with it. I made sure I was taking the photo from directly above so that it was as close to scanning as possible.

The final result of me going over the lines. I also did the black outline in rough of the vector art and I planned to revise it in illustrator to make it a lot neater. I made some adjustments to the silhouette of the head as it was a little out of proportion and didnt look all that right.

I then started looking at existing vector art for a colour scheme as I was unsure on what I wanted the colours to look like. I chose this as I really like that there was no black used and only brown, which allowed it to blend into the background nicely and allowed the pink outines to look like light.

I then started adding the colours and crease details into the characters. However I felt that the characters blended into each other too much and you couldnt differ them from one another. I also wanted the characetr in the front to stand out more.

To overcome this I decided to make the characters a different colour from the other main one. I did this by putting a clipping mask over the two characters and changing the blending mode to ‘colour’.

I still felt that it didnt really fit the theme I was after (cyberpunk) so I decided to scratch the colour scheme I currently had into a more vibrant neon scheme. I searched on google for a bunch of cyberpunk art pieces so I could steal the colours as I’m not that good at making my own palatte. This scheme was heading in the right direction but I felt it needed a really bright colour for the lighting, something that made the main character ‘pop’

I then found this, literally scrolling through pinterest for ideas or colours, and I thought it was perfect. The cell shading was also exactly what I was after so I decided to steal this idea and add it into my own work.

I changed the colour of the light blue into this and altered some of the other colours to make the piece flow a little better and for the yellow to stand out further. I wanted the cell shading to allow the character to be the centre of focus and to add a little artistic style to the piece which I think the yellow really did allowed for.

After I had a rough drawing for what the colours and where the details were, I planned to put it into illustrator and finalize/polish it. However... I didnt realise that I didnt own it and the free trial had run out. So I had to polish it in photoshop. Honestly I am a little glad that I decided to do this however as there was a lot more painting involved than I thought, especially on the hands. Here is a before the clean-up.

This is an after, at least for the hands which took a lot longer as it was quite messy and I felt that it was a big focal point.

The hand on the other side I had to change a lot as it didnt look quite right. This was actually a pain to do and I soon realised that i lacked a lot of knowledge in drawing hands. I will need to learn the anatomy of hands properly.

This is the final drawing without any writing. It took a while to polish up but Im really proud of this drawing. I think its exactly what I was aiming to make as it all flows into the silhouette of the head, while keeping relevant to the book I chose and also just looking visually pleasing. I wanted the characters hand to go off the main drawing as I took the idea from the judge dredd poster from my artist research as I felt it looked cool.

I then added the text for the name of the movie. I first simply added text and warped it to fit an area, then painted over the text so that it fit into the area. I tried to do it in the style of the austin powers poster, however there wasnt an image to go over the top and I felt that this looks a lot better than the one in the poster anyways.
