There was drama behind the scenes in Community? Do you feel like you want to elaborate?
Oh my gosh there was so much drama 😭😭
I'm surprised you haven't heard about it, it's like the biggest dark cloud that hangs over that show.
Okay, so here we go this is going to be such a long post,
Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase were both competing to be the biggest dick working on the show, in the end Chevy won, mostly because Dan recognized the error of his ways and worked to change, but the point is Chevy saw himself as this big time Hollywood legend due to being one of the first cast on SNL, and so his over inflated ego did not enjoy the long hours on set or the way they were writing his character (of course a lot of how they wrote his character was in response to his own bad behavior) and so he acted like a little bitch all the time, if you've seen the show there's an episode where Pierce throws a tantrum and then goes to hide in a trailer the whole episode, that's basically how Chevy would act on set, most of the cast ended up hating him too because of his behavior and the writers had to find ways to limit his on screen time replacing him with a body double because he did not want to work as long as the rest of the cast and because Community was this insane show that had off the wall concepts for their episodes and scene concepts that would only last two seconds in the final product but would take entire days setting up filming locations and dressing the sets the days and the hours were Long af and so the more crazy concepts the show ventured into the less Chevy wanted to be there and so in turn he ended up clashing heads with Dan Harmon the other dick in this story, now Dan Harmon was the show runner and creator of Community, he is the mastermind behind the whole thing, but at this time he was pretty much at rock bottom for his entire life and his behavior, he was an alcoholic, he was sexually harassing a woman who worked under him, and he happily provoked Chevy Chase's little bitchiness in public, going as far as to play an angry voice message Chevy left him into the microphone on stage at a fan convention to a room full of fans and the media.
In response to all of this bullshit the studio fired Dan Harmon and replaced him with two guys whose only experience running a show was a racist show called Aliens in America about a white family that wanted to get a hot cool European exchange student to make their nerdy son cool, but instead got a brown dorky foreign exchange student with a funny accent and weird food, the show lasted one season and was promptly forgotten by the entire world for very good reason 😬
Anyways these two guys were brought in to showrun the infamous Season 4 of Community, otherwise known as the gasleak year. Now, these new showrunners weren't enough to make Chevy happy and he was still a little bitch most of the time and his coworkers were very unhappy with him for getting the guy who turned this show into a cultural icon fired. But they did season four and it was a big pile of shit, there's a couple episodes from that season that are worth watching, the body swap episode written and directed by Jim Rash is one, but for the most part this season is a write off, it's not that it was bad, it was honestly a lot better than most shows out there, but it was really really bad in the context of the rest of Community. It was a season desperately trying to be the show that came before it and it just utterly failed, trying to capture the magic that was Community without knowing how to do that.
Anyways, after this Joel McHale, the actor playing Jeffery Winger and a man who calls Community the best thing that ever happened to him went to the studio and said, "you gotta bring back Dan Harmon" and ultimately, the new showrunners were sacked, Chevy left, and Dan Harmon was brought back to the show.
Season 5 premiered with an episode called, Repilot that brought our now Greendale six instead of seven back together in a way that felt like coming home again after your first semester at college, bittersweet in that way that makes you feel like everything has changed, but nothing has moved. They lost Donald Glover in the fifth episode of the fifth season playing Come Sail Away by the Styx and now the show only had five of the original cast that made up the community we follow and by the end of season five the show was canceled at NBC and even when the giant cult fanbase raged at them they still refused to bring the show back for that iconic Six Seasons and a Movie Abed so often proclaimed in the text of the show
Until of course a streaming service that no longer exists called Yahoo!Stream came in and spent $42 million dollars for one singular season of Community (and two other shows apparently) and the fans were overjoyed to get their final season even if we also lost another key part of the main cast Yvette Nicole Brown to get it. Now the show had lost almost half the original cast, lost its showrunner, had a shit season, then got its showrunner back, got canceled at its original network, and now brought back for an internet streaming service in the days when Netflix still mailed people DVDs, and so this is the mindset they went into Season 6 for. The final season of the show had lost the fun whimsical tone of the golden age of the first three seasons, but still had the wacky zany adventures now couched in this sad feeling of reality that the end is coming soon, but then the last episode flashes a black screen that says "and a movie" and the fans had hope
Of course until Yahoo!Stream goes bankrupt and blames Community for it and that movie never comes.
Dan Harmon goes on to make Rick and Morty and a podcast called Harmontown where he admits to his horrific behavior on the set of Community and apologizes to his victim in a way that makes her feel vindicated and satisfied that he has changed his ways and moved forward with his life crawling his way out of his rock bottom to make a career far surpassing anything Community ever gave to him. While Chevy Chase has all but fallen into obscurity as he still does not accept that he did a single thing wrong ever. And now in the year 2023 we are getting the final chapter of the Community story in the form of a Peacock streaming movie that will most likely bring back almost every character and actor except for Chevy Chase
And that is the very very abridged version of the bts drama that haunted Community for six seasons and now a movie 😭😭

Summary: The intel? Sketchy. The trio? Exhausted. Hotel? Definitely not Trivago. Sam Wilson is on the hunt for the other Winter Soldiers, but somewhere between making tea and outmanoeuvring evil assassins, he finds time to fall in love. Sam Wilson is the ultimate multitasker.
Six Times Steve Felt Out of Place and Two Times He Didn’t (ao3) - Mikey (mikes_grrl) phil/steve/clint E, 10k
Summary: While things have changed a lot for omegas in 70+ years, one thing society can’t abide is an unbonded omega in a position of leadership. To keep Steve on the Avengers, Alpha Phil Coulson steps up and offers to make Steve his second omega. No one is really happy about it, least of all Steve, who has always had the habit of wanting exactly what he can’t really have.

Summary: Steve likes Bucky (duh.) Bucky likes Steve (double-duh.) Sam likes Steve (kinda duh.) Steve likes Sam (who wouldn't?) Bucky likes Sam (wat)
Sam...likes Bucky? (stop the madness)
The slowest of slow burns. Occasional angst. Much kissing ensues. Maybe more also ensues.
This Mess We Made (ao3) - haveufoundwhaturlookingfor clint/steve/tony N/R, 2k
Summary: Clint is pregnant when Tony and Steve start arguing about the accords, but he doesn’t get the chance to tell either of them because he’s pushed off to the side. Things get worse when the Avengers have to go into hiding, and Natasha starts worrying about Clint and the pregnancy.

also have just passed the origin story episode and the flashback to when they were at the mall all deciding to go to greendale, Don't You, the song at the end of breakfast club was playing, a callback to the first episode where abed kept making breakfast club references. that, and the next episode where jeff graduates and the darkest timeline tries to stop him was such a perfect end.
I know we all said six seasons and a movie, and I want six seasons and a movie too, but season 5 and 6 were bad. they flat out sucked. they're out of character and crazy and they shoved out replacements that didn't work. they could've done it better, they could've saved these episodes for the season 6 finale. I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes but there must have been a change in directors or writers or something. like half the group left, and I know they got rid of pierce cause the actor sucked as a person. but I don't believe that they kicked donald glover or yvette nicole brown out cause they sucked, they probably had other stuff going on or left on their own. which sucks, but I'd rather have these good 4 seasons and a movie than 3 great seasons, a bittersweet but good season, two crappy seasons and a movie that has a million expectations to live up to but can only do a few, and will probably only do the ones we don't want. cause come on, as much as I want trobed to be canon, they'll probably make jeff x annie canon if anything. and again as much as I want it and will take it in the movie vs nothing at all but trobed should've been canon in season 1 or 2 at max. making it canon only after all these years feels like purely just fan service and not because they wrote them to be together because that's how they are
I just have conflicted feelings about where the story could possibly be headed and how it did end. once the movie is over that's it, community is over and what they do then is the last we'll see. it's their last chance to override or add to canon and I have a feeling it isn't gonna be special

thanks @sharpbutsoft for the tag <33
rules: recommend three of your own fics (1 most popular, two hidden gems) then tag some people!
tagging: @mercymorns @warmsafflinas @cathedralbells @stillmadaboutpetra + whoever else wants to (just say i tagged you!)
most popular:
please could you be tender (she-ra; catra/adora childhood friends au; 40k words)
summary: “I mean,” explains Adora, “We were friends for so long, and all that. Don’t you–” she swallows, “–don’t you miss me, too?”
“You can’t miss someone sitting right across from you,” responds Catra. Adora can’t help but disagree. She looks at Catra expectantly, and after a pause, Catra lets out a long breath.
“Fine, fine,” she says. “You’ve always been my favorite ghost, skeleton in the closet, whatever.” Adora frowns over at her. Catra shrugs, evidently unwilling to say anything else. Catra gives her another look that punctuates this, a look that says stop asking for more and Adora, folding her hands neatly, does as she's told. this remains my biggest fic! i had a really good time writing it and it was one of the bigger she-ra fics, which always makes me feel special lmao. i'll always look back on writing this fondly; in terms of confessional fics, man this one has a lot in it. but that's how it goes!
hidden gem 1:
haunted house with a picket fence (stranger things; steve/eddie time travel au, 30k wip)
summary: Sometimes Steve gets these crazy dreams. He wakes up from them shivering, hand reaching for something under his bed that doesn’t exist. The plots of them mostly fade after a minute, so he’s left with unsettling images that haunt him whenever he closes his eyes: vines, pulsing like a muscle; caustic spores stuck in the back of his throat; a creature’s mouth unfolding like a toothy flower. * or, it's 1983, & steve keeps remembering things that haven't happened.
i'm having a LOT of fun with this fic, and in a lot of ways i'm playing with what i learned in a different fic (buried a hatchet) with the sort of weird alternate reality emptiness aspect. it's not perfect, but there's a lot im really happy with right now, and it's a return to fic after 2 years, so that's special, too.
hidden gem 2:
advanced home video & alternate love letters (community; abed/troy; 2k)
summary: Abed, throughout his last two years at Greendale, makes a home movie. It’s buried deep within his files, so that no one finds it; it’s important to him, for some reason, to keep it private. He opens it up, sometimes, in part as a homage just for himself—he sits in the dark and lets it play and pretends it’s just a movie reference. * or, abed makes a missing lover movie for troy. (alternatively, abed & the fallout of troy leaving).
this is one of those fics where it feels incredibly confessional to me, looking back on it, even though it's ostensibly a character study of how abed deals with troy's absence in video format. i reread it a lot, to be honest; in some ways it's to reflect on my july of 2020, writing about videos of people you can't see anymore. i really remember the challenge of writing scene changes (how often can you write "it cuts to xyz" before it gets too repetitive?!)

Being a Gallagher-Milkovich | Mickey & Ian dads x reader
Summary: @beth-gallagher22 requested a cute reader x dads fic. Y/n is Mickey’s and Ian’s adoptive daughter, the oldest of their three kids. She sneaks out one night to go to a party after she's been told not to go by her dads. Her dads find out and go get her. Can Mickey keep his cool when he finds his kid drunk, hooking up with some guy? Wordcount 2400 Warnings: non AN: struggled a bit with the ending but I hope you liked it! xoxo Lexi Mickey = Dad Ian = Papa
No. You were expecting the answer but somehow you still hoped that your dads had said yes, they had a notorious partying-past themselves so you thought that you might have a small chance. You gave your dad the biggest puppy eyes you had in one last effort to get what you wanted. 'No y/n you heard papa you're not going to Eliza's tonight, end of discussion.' You groaned and threw your arms frustrated in the air. 'You just don't understand how important this party is, I'll be the only one who won't be there. They'll think I'm a loser.' Mickey snorted. 'You're a Gallagher-Milkovich you'll never be a loser, doll.' You stormed past them and stomped up the stairs. 'She'll understand one day.' Ian mumbled to Mickey when he wrapped his arms around him from behind while they were standing in the kitchen. 'Yeah, but she'll hate us for quite some time because we want to keep her safe, that's not fair.' Ian chuckled as he saw the frustration on his husband's face. 'As you said, she's a Gallagher-Milkovich, she'll be fine.'
The bedroom door slammed close behind you and you threw yourself on the bed as you left out a frustrating groan. They just didn't get it. Literally, everyone was going even Gemma Garrety from the fucking Northside. You were going, no matter what your dads were saying. You got up from your bed and went through your closet, searching for the perfect dress. Last month papa had given you shopping money for the upcoming summer. Instead of buying a couple of outfits you just went for a beautiful, black dress that showed way too much skin but it was perfect for a heated summer at the Southside of town. You took the dress off the hanger and laid it out on your bed. It was perfect for the party. You grabbed your makeup bag from your bedside table and set up an improvised makeup station, laying everything you needed out in front of you on your desk. Brett Greendale was going to be there so you wanted to look absolutely fire. After you had curled your hair in soft waves you pinned it back so you could start on your makeup. You went for a subtle eye look but went for dark, red lips. When you were done with your makeup you put your bathrobe on and got in your bed so you could pretend you were sleeping as your dads would come to check on you when they went to bed themselves at eleven. So you just waited.
As you predicted your dad popped his head in something after eleven. He lingered in the doorway for a minute or two, looking at his sweet angel with a loving smile on his lips. He and Ian were so happy when they got the news from the adoption agency that they were approved and were eligible to adopt. They got a call in the middle of the night, that they needed to rush to the hospital to be present during your birth and before they knew it they were holding you in their arms, you were sweet as a pea and making them a family of three. That was already sixteen years ago, time had flown by. Mickey stepped back into the hallway, closing your bedroom door behind him. That was your queue. You sat straight up in your bed listening to the sound of their bedroom door falling into the lock. It took them normally ten minutes to fall asleep so you waited patiently. When it was a quarter past eleven there wasn't a sound to hear and you walked over to your window on your tippy-toes. You had done this before, it wasn't your first rodeo. Your room was on the first floor but you could make the jump easily without hurting yourself if you took off your heels. So you did, you threw your shoes, bag and keys out first and followed in a swift movement after landing on your feet in the grass. You slipt your heels on and started walking in the direction of Eliza's place, this night was going to be epic.
A couple of hours had passed and you couldn't remember if this was your sixth or seventh drink, who cared anyway. You had spent the night dancing with some friends in Eliza's living room before Brett had swooped in, stealing you from your girls. The two had chatted for some time in the kitchen, he had made some stupid joke and you pretended that he was the funniest guy on the planet. He wasn't, he was far from being funny but you thought that pretending would play in your luck so you laughed. After some time he pulled you in by your waist so there was no room left between the two of you. He gave you a boyish grin before he leaned in and places a kiss on your lips. They were softer than you had imagined. You grabbed the hem of his shirt with one hand and steadied yourself by placing the other on his waist. You didn't care about anyone else in the room, they could watch all they want. After a minute or two, he leaned back and you almost started frowning when he did but then you realised what he was doing. Your heart was pounding in your chest as he grabbed your hand, dragging you along the stairs. You could hear some of his friends cheering on him as the two of you reached the top, disappearing into one of the empty bedrooms. You didn't have much time to think as he started to tuck on his own shirt, taking it off and throwing it on the ground. You kicked off your heels and stood awkwardly in front of him, not a hundred percent sure about your next move. You might be a Gallagher-Milkovich but this was actually the first time you went this far with a guy. Okay, you had given a blowie once or twice but that was it. You promised yourself that you would only go all the way with a guy you truly liked and you did. Brett could be an asshole sometimes but he could also be sweet and treated you like a princess. He was the right one. He softly ran his arms from your shoulders to your hands and gave them a soft squeeze. 'You sure about this?' All you could do was nod in agreement. 'You need to say it.' It was probably the alcohol in you that was speaking but you really wanted to do this. You placed your hands around his neck and pulled him closer to you. 'Are you going to fuck me or what?' That was enough for him. Whit one firm push he had you laying on your back on the bed and a giggle left your mouth. He crawled towards you and placed one knee on either side of your body, hovering above your face. 'Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?' You shook your head whiles biting on your bottom lip. 'Damn, y/n you look really pretty tonight and that dress, fiew.' He whistled. 'Smoking hot.'
The only thing that you didn't know was while you and Brett were getting cosy upstairs your dad was about to march into the party. He was furious. 'Hun, please think this through. Okay, she disobeyed our request but do you really need to pull her out tonight? You can yell at her in the morning. She will feel so embarrassed if you do this.' Ian did his best to calm Mickey down but it was a lost cost. Mickey was going to get you, even if he had to throw you over his shoulder. 'Ian, you can stay in the car or you can walk in whit me, making sure that I don't beat up a fucking kid okay?' He grabbed the steering wheel, his knuckles turning withe as he did. 'Yeah yeah, let's go then.' The two of them walked up the front door and as they entered everyone looked at them in confusion. Mickey's eyes went over every person in the room but he didn't see you anywhere so he turned to your best friend instead. 'Eliza, where is she?' She didn't say a word only pointed towards the stairs with her finger, almost shaking. She knew you were in big trouble. Mickey only needed a second to understand what she meant and raced towards the stair, going up two steps at a time. Ian followed, but he first apologized to Eliza for barging in and causing a scene.
Before Brett could take off your dress the door swung wide open. 'What the fuck dude?' Brett asked as he turned his face towards the door. 'Get your shittie little hands off my daughter you piece of shit.' Brett didn't even get the time to stumble out of bed, no. Your dad pulled him towards him by his ankles and then threw him against the wall. 'Dad, no stop!' You screamed as you saw the scene in front of you. 'Dad stop, you are hurting him. Let go of him!' Your dad's eyes were spitting fire. 'Mickey, let go of the fucking kid. Y/n, get your stuff and go wait in the car. Now!' Your papa walked over to your dad and yanked him off of Brett before he could hurt him. 'If I ever see you near my daughter again, you're a dead man. 'Ye- yes.' 'Yes who?' 'Yes Mr. Milkovich' Your cheeks were burning red as you stormed down the stairs, you couldn't leave the house as quick as possible. What were they thinking? You're a Gallagher-Milkovich, no one will think you're a loser. Bull shit. Whose parents came to drag their kids home from parties? Let alone out of a room right before they were going to get laid? Assholes. You were the mega loser now. President of losertown. Ian succeded in dragging Mickey downstairs with him, leaving the poor boy in the bedroom. 'You're a dead man walking Greendale.' Mickey yelled over his shoulder as he went with a hand through his black hair. 'Get your ass in the fucking car!' Ian yelled at his husband while he stopped in front of Eliza. 'Honey, I am so sorry for all of this but you know Mickey, y/n is his world and he would do everything for her. I'm so so sorry. Just come over by our place tomorrow okay? I'll make it up to you by making your favourite, homemade pizzas.' He placed a hand on her shoulder while he spoke. 'All good Mr. G, just don't be too harsh on her, please? I begged her to come.' Ian chuckled softly. 'I'll see what I can do.'
The drive home was a silent one. It was a bit scary because you knew that your dad could lash out any second. You did your best to keep your thoughts straight and coherent but the alcohol in your system made it difficult for you to think clearly. 'Dad?' He didn't respond and your papa threw you a soft smile as he turned his head towards you. 'Let's talk when we get home sweety.' You shifted uncomfortably in your seat at those words. You were going to get grounded until you were thirty, you could feel it. 'Okay.'
There you were, sitting whit tears in your eyes at the kitchen table while your two dads were sitting opposite of you. 'Y/n, we told you no so why did you go?' It was your papa who was speaking while your dead was looking angry at you, arms crossed over his chest. 'I-I was the only one who wasn't going.' A tear slipt down your face as you tried to reason your decision. 'This is bullshit y/n, your papa told you not to go and you went anyway and for what? Some boy?' Your dad snapped at you as he slammed his hand on the table. It made your papa give him an angry look. 'I'm sorry dad, I know that I've been stupid.' You wiped away your tears with the back of your hands. 'He's not just some boy, I-I really like him and he's into me and it was a perfect night until you barged in.' Your dad grabbed his head with both his hands, softly pulling at his hair as he heard your words. Mickey made a vow in his head he was going to hurt any guy that would come close to you. 'Doll, you are sixteen. You have all the time in the world to find a guy that loves you. There is no need to rush it with the first Southsider you see.' You shook your head in disbelief, it wasn't like that you really liked the guy maybe even loved him. 'I love him, dad. It was stupid of me to sneak out after you told me I know but I had to see him.' Tears started welling up in your eyes again, troubling your view. 'Honey, you know how we do things around here. Mutual respect and no secrets. You broke both rules, how do you think we feel now?' It was your papa who said those words and this was worse than them being mad. They were disappointed in you. 'I'm a disappointment, I know.' Your dead reached over the table holding out his hand for you to grab. 'You are not a disappointment y/n. Yes we are disappointed right now but that doesn't mean that you're a disappointment sweetie. You are a great kid and we love you very much.' You slipped your hand in his and he gave you a soft squeeze. Mickey promised himself that he would be better than his father and father-in-law. From the first moment he saw you he promised to keep you safe and make you feel loved and wanted. He was overprotective from the first day, Ian had to step in hundreds of times to make sure that he didn't punch anyone in the face that looked longer than five seconds at you. You were is god damn world. 'No more secrets.' Your dad mumbled as he stroked your hands with his thumbs.
'No more secrets dad.'

C Story | Abed Nadir
MASTERLIST | AO3 | KO-FI
Requested by: Anon
Hi! I’ve read all of your Abed ff and I love them! The way you write Abed makes it feel like it’s something he’d actually say/do!! My request is if you could do a ff where it’s break time at Greendale and y/n is in the cafeteria watching a movie (your choice) and through the reflection of the screen they see Abed staring at their screen watching and they confront him, I’m not sure what would come next😂 but hopefully y/n meets the study group and Abed and y/n become good friends (or partners in the future) you can play around with the idea as much as you’d like :)))) tytytytyty!
Relationship(s): Abed Nadir x gn!reader (romantic)
Summary: When watching Cape Fear in the Greendale cafeteria, you catch one of your classmates watching along with you.
Warnings: None! (Let me know if I need to add any)
Word count: 0.7k
(A/N: It feels like I haven’t written for Community in ages, so I’m really looking forward to writing for it (and Abed, my beloved) again. Sorry that this is on the shorter side, but I thought this idea would be better left at this length. Also, if you’re wondering why I chose Cape Fear of all films, I just randomly scrolled through my Letterboxd and thought ‘eh, that’ll do’ (plus it kinda fit).)
ALSO: Shameless self-promotion of my little Trobed vignette/ficlet on AO3. I’m only promoting it here because this is the first Community thing I’ll have posted since then (which was a while ago, admittedly).
With your earphones in and your volume turned up, you were blissfully unaware of your surroundings in the Greendale cafeteria. Absentmindedly, you chewed on a curly fry, resting your chin on your palm as you stared at your laptop screen. You flinched at a sudden loud noise in the movie, though you had anticipated that happening when you were watching a movie called Cape Fear.
The screen darkened, meaning you could see yourself and the things around you in the cafeteria, something you expected.
What you didn’t expect was to see the reflection of Abed Nadir (someone from your film class) also staring back at you.
“Holy crap!”
Hitting pause on the movie, you jumped and turned around. Abed was sat at another table that placed him behind you, sat with his legs stretched over two chairs as he craned his neck to the side to look at the screen. His elbow, helping his palm prop up his chin, was resting on the back of his seat.
“Abed!”
“Hi.” he greeted casually.
“Looming over someone’s shoulder’s the last thing you do when someone’s watching a movie like this.”
You stared at him for a few seconds when he didn’t say anything back, then sighed.
“That can’t be comfortable.” you stated.
“Not really,” Abed answered. “But at least I can see the screen.”
You knitted your brows. “How long have you been watching?”
Abed glanced at how long the movie had been running. “Around 8 minutes and 12 seconds.”
“You know that’s totally creepy, right?”
“I get that a lot.”
You chuckled, and he smiled faintly.
“So, uh, why aren’t you sitting with your friends?” you asked, using your head to gesture over to where Jeff, Annie, Britta, Pierce, Troy and Shirley were sat. You quickly looked away when you noticed Britta staring back at you.
“I’m not part of the A story. Or the B story.” Abed shrugged.
“So...are we in the C story?” you questioned.
“Yep.” Abed nodded.
“Oh. Cool.”
You smiled.
There was a moment of silence between you two, leaving only the chatter of the cafeteria. You removed an earphone from your ear and held it in front of him. He took it, his fingers brushing against yours. Before he could put it in his own ear, you quickly stopped him.
“You can...sit next to me instead of watching it from there. I mean, if you want, of course. You don’t have t-”
Before you could finish, Abed handed you the earphone back and climbed over from his seat to the vacant one beside you. You looked up at him, knowing full well that, if you looked anyone else, you’d see first-hand the confused stares Abed received. He grabbed the earphone from your grasp once again, pushed it in his ear and turned to flash you a small smile.
You stared back at him blankly, your smile delayed.
“Are you gonna unpause, or should I?” he said.
“Oh, right, yeah.” you responded, grinning sheepishly. “Sorry.”
You turned back to the screen and unpaused.
Later that day, the Study Group was sat around their usual table, their textbooks out in front of them (though none of them, bar Annie, intended to actually open them).
“So, Abed,” Annie began with a beam. “We saw you talking to Y/N from your film class.”
Abed looked at Annie blankly without replying. Annie’s expression morphed from one of glee to one of confusion.
“What is it?” Abed questioned, cocking his head to the side and mirroring Annie’s expression.
“You didn’t respond to what I said.” Annie answered.
“You didn’t say anything for me to respond to.” Abed countered.
Annie huffed. “We-”
“I think you mean you.” Jeff corrected, not looking up from his phone. Annie sent him an unimpressed glare.
“Okay, fine, I-” She forced a smile onto her face as she looked back at Abed. “Was just wondering if...maybe there was something there?”
“Like what?” Abed asked.
“Like...Do you like them?” Annie clarified.
“Yeah,” Abed shrugged. “I guess so. They’re cool.”
“Do they like you?” Britta chimed in.
“Maybe.” Abed hesitated. “They invited me over to their dorm to finish the movie.”
Britta smiled, while Annie grinned, squealed and clapped (something that Shirley joined in with).
“What movie is it?” Troy questioned.
“Cape Fear.” Abed replied, a faint smile on his face. No one could tell if he was smiling about you or the movie. “They said we can watch Fatal Attraction after, too.”
Annie, Britta and Shirley exchanged a bemused, slightly disturbed look.
“How romantic.” Jeff quipped.

i still can’t believe community basically completely forgot about britta in the last episode of the series. like i can’t even say i hated the ending they gave her because they didn’t even bother giving her one. they wrote in a random FBI internship for Annie and a job on a tv show for Abed in the literal last episode, you’re telling me they couldn’t have done the same for Britta? It could’ve been so easy for them to have the Dean say something like “oh by the way Britta, Professor Duncan wanted to see you about a potential job offer at Greendale”, who cares if it sounds unrealistic 😭 it would’ve also made Jeff’s ending seem a bit more optimistic while we’re at it. have jeff and britta celebrate the fact that they’re gonna be coworkers, throw in a “who would’ve thought?” from jeff, and boom now there’s a full circle moment for the show (started with jeff/britta, ended with jeff/britta) + a satisfying ending for the characters because it’s just bizarre that there was not a single genuine moment between those two in the last episode considering they were the last two study group members left
#like what was the reason for making jeff’s ending look so bleak 😭 it felt like a regression of his development#bc his ending itself wasn’t that sad they just needed to have him be a little bit more content with it at the end#community#nbc community#britta perry#jeff winger#jeffbritta

Return to Greendale
Zelda Spellman x fem reader
Here is a small snippet of a much longer fic I posted on AO3 a while ago, but in case you're not familiar...
Summary: Takes place in the immediate aftermath of Sabrina's death, the reader returs to Greendale and Zelda after decades apart. Full fic available here:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/31503407
A/N: reader (you) is referred to as Vera, I found it a bit simpler that way, in this long fic.
First time I’m writing on Tumblr🫣
_____________________
Something odd was going on in your mind, flashes of memories from years past flooded your attention as you stepped into the Academy. It was as though you were a mere student again, late for class and planning mischief with Zelda. The sentimental moment passed quickly as you laid eyes on the statue of a young girl. Without knowing what exactly had happened here, you felt it. Evil had passed these corridors, lived in these walls. More frightening than Satan himself, a darkness, an emptiness that left nothing behind. You shuddered, goosebumps trickling your skin.
You came to a halt, regarding the statue once more. The room was lit by hundreds of candles, providing warmth on this sad day. The last time you had set foot in the halls of the Academy, nearly two decades ago, the foreboding eyes of the Dark Lord had stared down at you. A sinking feeling settled in your stomach, as your eyes travelled away from the statue, falling upon the woman with glorious auburn locks.
She stood beside her sister, speaking in a hushed tone, “She looks beautiful, doesn’t she, Hildie?” Zelda was unmistakable where she stood, gazing up at the stone girl. She did not move, not noticing you only a few paces away. You stood frozen, listening to their conversation, your intuition telling you to let this pass uninterrupted.
“Yep.” A pause, “she really does.” Hilda whispered, seemingly unable to find words. A heavy silence filled the large space, and you noticed Hilda turning slightly towards her sister, hesitating, “Zelds, I… Uh- was thinking that Doctor Cee and I, um, we’ll probably just move back into the Mortuary. Because we Spellmans should stick together, I think.” She let out a strangled breath, moving her gaze to the statue once more.
Zelda regarded her for a moment, “All right.”
“Good.”
“If you think so.” Zelda’s eyes remained locked on her sister, hands folded tightly in front of her as she stood, “Why?” she whispered then, a tortured look crossing her face, one that caused your heart to clench in sympathy. Zelda’s hands came up to cover her face as a sob escaped her, “Why did you not preserve her, Dark Mother?” she looked upon the statue of Hecate, a fire of blame in her eyes.
Hilda struggled to remain composed, mumbling her agreement, “I don’t know.”
“It’s not right, Hilda. It’s just not right that she’s gone!”
“No.”
Even seeing her like this, shoulders hunched forward, only her auburn hair to identify her, she evoked every warm and tingling feeling in you, your heart skipping a beat. It was excitement at being close to her again, to know you were about to reach her, fingers touching her skin. It was a dream, yet it was a nightmare. For the one fleeting moment of happiness, there was a darkness looming in return. It was a prominent mist swallowing the light, and you were powerless to it. You could only let yourself be consumed and hope you would find the air to breath. This was the waking nightmare that was watching Zelda in her despair. You allowed yourself this moment, to feel the horror of your love. But it could not be lingering, you had to sustain it for Zelda. Searching within yourself, you pulled at your inner strength, pushing aside your own feelings. This time, you would be everything Zelda needed, even if it killed you.
Swallowing hard, your throat constricting with the threatening tears, you took a deep breath and spoke tentatively, seizing the moment, “Zelda?”
Through the cloud of grief, Zelda’s eyes widened in surprise as she realised who stood before her as she turned, “Vera?” She croaked.
In that moment, you could sense Zelda’s world caving in, instinct telling you to leap forward. Gathering her in a strong embrace, Zelda let out a cry of pain in her dismay, not caring that the entire Academy could hear her. The sound brought tears to your eyes, blurring your vision, and threatened to spill. It was a sound that pierced your core, tearing your very soul. You felt Zelda’s weight against you as she sagged to the floor. Her hands frantically gripped the fabric of your blazer. Desperate to offer any comfort, you started whispering words of comfort into her ear, words of love and affection.
The sound of running feet alerted you, and you looked up to see several students staring at the scene. With a gentle waive, Hilda ushered the others away, a hint of relief in her eyes.
“Vera?” Zelda repeated, as though not quite believing her eyes. She pulled away to regard the woman whose arms were wrapped tightly around her.
You gave a nod, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead in confirmation. In that moment, reality hit you like a tidal wave. Fear and anxiety simmered within you, but you managed to push it away. Having set your inner turmoil aside, you reached forward and stoked Zelda’s soft cheeks with the tender touch of your hands, “Oh my love, I am so sorry.”
Zelda opened her mouth to speak but was unable. Her body slumped once more, and you took her into your arms. Yet again, you found herself focusing on your mantra, lacuane magicae. With your renewed energy, you teleported the two of them into the High Priestess office, seeking privacy. You knew her well enough to know what Zelda needed; she had never been comfortable at openly revealing her state of mind.
The next moment, you were positioned in front of the office fireplace, seated opposite one another in the velvet sofa. Sparing a glance at your surroundings, you saw the office had hardly changed at all. The room was dimly lit, adding to the late-night atmosphere. At the centre of the room, in front of the windows stood a massive oak desk, the very same, as centuries prior. The only changes you could see were a few of Zelda’s personal belongings: an exquisite crystal ashtray; a photograph of Edward with baby Sabrina in his arms; and an ancient sphinx in copper which you recognised to be an object you had once gifted Zelda.
Your eyes locked onto Zelda’s watery gaze, it seemed as though she was carrying the weight of the universe on her shoulders. Reaching out to take her hand, Zelda grasped it between both her own. The touch seemed to have a reassuring effect, grounding her to the present. She took a deep, steadying breath and proceeded to recount the events having passed over the last months. You couldn’t help but wonder how mere months could have wrecked such havoc in their long lifespan. At every harrowing detail, you felt a piece of your heart breaking. Your worst fears were confirmed by Zelda’s words. You had only ever heard tales of the Eldritch Terrors. You could never have imagined that they would manifest themselves in Greendale. Nor could you have imagined it would cost Sabrina her life. Sweet, young, and clever Sabrina. Your gut churned with guilt, settling there with no intention of leaving. If you were honest with yourself, you were at a loss of words. How could you ever be enough for Zelda through this? How could you be so very blind to think you could ever be enough? These voices in the back of your head were incessant, but you managed to push them away. You were here for Zelda; you could not fall victim to your own insecurities. Taking a deep breath, you knelt to the floor in front of the other woman, placing your steady hands on Zelda’s trembling thighs, “I am so sorry, no words I offer could ever be enough.” Tears flowed freely down your cheeks, hot and unwelcome. You would give anything to take Zelda’s pain away.
Zelda let out a strangled sob, “I killed her, Vera!” Her voice a harsh whisper, as though she was confessing a great secret. She fell forward into your strong arms; all you could do was to catch her and share her pain. You were unable to find words, so you merely held her, placing tender kisses to the side of Zelda’s head. Your own tears mingled with Zelda’s, this grief surpassing all else. No words could ever be enough. Zelda had lost a child. It was a loss you wouldn’t wish upon your worst enemy; the cruelty of it.
Many moments passed in each other’s arms; you wished you could stay like this for a little longer. But Zelda was exhausted, not that she would ever admit to such a thing. You knew her, truly knew her, even after all these years.
Summoning strength, you rose to your feet, pulling Zelda up. You never let go of her hands, your link everlasting. Gazing into tired blue eyes, you spoke quietly, “You need rest, Zelda.”
The High Priestess straightened her back in at attempt at composing herself, “We haven’t finished talking, and-”
“Hush, love.” Your velvet voice was enough to persuade her, and she shut her mouth. You regarded her once more, taking in her impeccable stance and beauty. How could she look this perfect, while feeling broken inside? You wondered what she yourself looked like now. Taking her hand, you led Zelda to the adjoining room. It was, as you knew very well, the personal quarters of the Directrix. A brief excitement tingled in your belly as memories flashed by.
The room was dark, but with a whispered spell, candles lit, illuminating the room in warm light. A large bed stood at the centre of the room, sheltered in a canopy of heavy drapes. Without the exchange of words, you guided a numb Zelda to the bed, who immediately laid down on one side, drawing her knees up to her chest. You sat down on the edge, next to her, “Try and sleep.” You whispered gently before bending down to place a soft kiss on Zelda’s lips. Even this fleeting kiss was everything you remembered it was. Soft, she tasted a hint of wine and cigarettes, the sensation spreading warmth in your chest. The moment between you lingered, and you felt Zelda’s hand reach up to caress your cheek, “I have missed you.” She whispered; eyes closed.
“And I, you.”

I hope you like it, would love to hear if you did!
Feel free to suggest something, and I'll see what I can do ;)

Extraordinary Girl
Jeff Winger x reader
Warnings: mentions of smut. did I make Jeff awful? its s1 Jeff, so there's that
A/n: This is based on the Green Day song Extraordinary Girl, but specifically the version from the broadway production of American Idiot (it’s v good, I highly recommend). I know the song is called Extraordinary Girl but I’m going to try to keep it gender neutral. I’m not sure if I actually like this one or not.
Summary: Friends with benefits relationship with Jeff (angst)
She's an extraordinary girl
In an ordinary world
And she can’t seem to get away
You didn’t know too many people at Greendale. You’d been there for a while, but kept your distance from most. You had always planned to do big things once you graduated, but anyone who spent even just a week at Greendale knew that it was near impossible to escape once you were there. Whether that was due to a love for the school that had blossomed over time, or a pure lack of getting an actual education was anyone’s guess.
He lacks the courage in his mind
Like a child left behind
Like a pet left in the rain
Jeff had a bad childhood. His father left him when he was a kid, and it really affected the way he turned out. He refused to even look up his father when he was an adult. He had built up walls, trying his best not to have real relationships with people. He thought it best to meet, hook up, then never see each other again.
When the two of you had met, Jeff immediately took a liking to you. He turned on the old Jeff charm and flirted with you endlessly. You would always laugh at him and flirt back.
It was easy to flirt with Jeff. He was cute, and he was a nice guy.
The two of you drunkenly hooked up one night after you spotted each other at L Street. You woke up the next morning in your bed alone. There were no signs that Jeff had been there at all.
You knew that sleeping with Jeff was a mistake, but he could’ve at least stayed so that you guys could talk about it.
The next day at school you kept an eye out for him, but when he wasn’t present in your history class, you pretty much realized he was avoiding you.
You managed to spot him in the cafeteria sitting with his Spanish group.
“Hey Jeff, can we talk?” You ask, awkwardly holding the straps of your bag.
The study group gives him weird looks. “Sure.” He says as he stands up to follow you out of the cafeteria.
“So about yesterday-” you started.
“It was just a thing that happened. We had sex, and now we’re back to the way it was before, right?” He looked at you expectantly.
“Yeah! Of course! Totally!” You replied. “We’re classmates.” You told him.
You were ready to do your best to avoid seeing Jeff in public for a while, just to avoid any awkwardness.
You didn't have any negative feelings toward Jeff. You didn't really know him too well before you hooked up, so there weren't any feelings you had associated with him.
You were doing fine until you were told you would have to do a project in history with partners. Unfortunately your teacher thought it would be a good idea to assign you and Jeff as partners.
You were absolutely ready to have to face uncomfortable encounters with Jeff as you worked on your project.
Luckily Jeff was good at pretending nothing had happened between the two of you. You were able to finish working on your project without having to talk about it.
Working with Jeff was actually pretty enjoyable. When he wasn't working, which lets be honest, was most of the time, he was trying to distract you with sarcastic comments about your teachers or quips about your classmates.
Jeff offered to walk you to your car as you were leaving the library for the last time.
"Jeff, you don't need to walk me to my car. It's still light out, and I'm pretty sure I could take anyone that tries to hop out of the bushes at me." You raise your fists like you're ready to fight jokingly.
"Oh, I don't doubt that at all." He laughs.
You stop when you get to your car. "I feel like we were able to actually put together a decent project." you say to him.
"I think it's definitely a passable project." he replies.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow Jeff." You turn to get into your car.
"Wait-" he says as he reaches for your arm. "It was nice working with you."
"It was nice working with you too."
"It was nice just being with you, in general." He starts to lean closer to you.
"Yeah?" It's almost as if the closer he gets, the more your brain fogs up.
When he leans down to kiss you, it feels like your brain short-circuits. All you can think about is him. You reach your hand up to grab at his hair, while the other tries to pull him closer to you. Both his hands rest on your waist, holding you against him.
He pulls his lips away from yours to start traveling down your neck. You close your eyes, and are ready to just be completely consumed by him.
"Your place?" he asks hurriedly.
The most you can do is nod your head.
The two of you take your car back to your apartment, and rush up to your door. You fumble with your key as he stands behind you, trailing kisses down your neck.
When you manage to unlock your door you both hurry to your bed. A small part of you says 'no Y/N, don't do this again' but that thought, much like your clothes , is quickly thrown aside.
She’s all alone again
Wiping the tears from her eyes
The next morning was almost identical to the one you had previously experienced. The only difference was now there lay a note on your bedside table. It read:
That was fun
we should do that more often
(XXX)XXX-XXXX -Jeff
Part of you wants to crumple up the note and throw it down the garbage chute. The other part wants you to cradle that note close to your chest, keeping it with you forever.
You don't know why you thought that things would be different with Jeff this time. You don't know why you feel so strongly for him. You feel a tear escape your eye, then all of a sudden, you're crying.
How could you have let a man have such a big part in your emotions? No. You weren't going to let him control how you felt. You grab your phone and shoot him a text:
That was fun, I'd love to 😉
Before going back to school you made sure that you looked your best. You wanted everyone to know that you were confident, and didn't need anyone's approval.
Everyone stared at you as you walked down the hallway. You looked great, and everyone knew it.
You and Jeff continued to sleep together, about once a week. Every time he left you would feel a small part of yourself get more and more tired. You didn't know if you were tired of him, or tired of the situation, but it didn't feel as great as it did at the beginning.
You were sitting in your math class, when it was announced that there was a new student. He seemed nice enough. You took it upon yourself to introduce yourself to him after class. He was actually very sweet. You spent lunch talking to each other about the school and the classes he had.
“I guess I just can’t believe what some of the courses offered here are. Like, why do we need a class called ‘Ladders’?” He asked.
“I honestly don’t know.” You laughed.
“Hey Y/N.” A voice said. Jeff was standing next to your table. He looked kind of uncomfortable. “Can I talk to you?” He asked.
“Sure.” You followed him to the hallway outside the cafeteria.
“Do you wanna hang out later tonight?” He looked at you expectantly. You actually didn’t feel like you wanted to be with Jeff tonight.
“Um, I don’t think I can, I’ve got a ton of homework I need to do.” You told him.
He looked surprised. “Oh, okay, well I’ll text you later.”
“Yeah, later Jeff.” You left him standing in the hallway and went back to your table with Harry. It almost felt like a weight had been lifted from your shoulders.
Some days he feels like dying
She gets so sick of crying
-Jeff’s POV-
Why didn’t Y/N wanna be with him anymore? He could start to feel you slowly slipping away from him.
He liked what the two of you had. It was simple. There were no feelings, no commitments, but you were still able to enjoy each other’s company. You were someone he could go to who wouldn’t question him about his feelings. But now he didn’t know what to do.
He watched as you talked with the new guy. You looked happy. Weren’t you happy when you talked to him? What does this guy have that he doesn’t?
Maybe he should’ve made more of an effort with you. He could’ve at least stayed with you in the morning and made you breakfast. Or, let’s be honest, have takeout for breakfast with you.
And now because he closed himself off from you, he lost you to someone else.

introduction to modern communication
this was not supposed to be as long as it ended up being. this was supposed to be an idea, not a full fic, but i was bored in a long car ride, so here's my take on this. for those who follow me who haven't finished the show, do not read this!! i can't figure out how to put a "keep reading" on my phone so you'll just have to scroll.
the study group created a group chat at some point. perhaps it was suggested by annie, who wanted a faster way to remind everyone about their tests. maybe it was abed, as group-text shenanigans make for great entertainment. it may have been jeff, who mass-texted them all once to save time and didn't think it would turn into anything. however it happened, though, the group chat was born.
everything got texted in that chat. pictures of shirley's children. pictures of britta's cats. confused texts from pierce asking how to send a picture. invitations to movie nights at troy and abed (and annie)'s apartment. britta sending information about current events. but there was also a lot of nonsense, and casual conversation.
when troy left, he stopped sending texts or replying to anything. obviously he couldn't reply while he was in the middle of the pacific, but surely he would come ashore every now and then. the group assumed he had moved on. it hadn't occurred to anybody that even though he was regularly going on shore leave, he was still in other countries, and couldn't yet afford to pay the exorbitant international fee.
troy finally landed off the coast of maine in early 2016. immediately, his phone made a "ding" noise. and then another one, and still more. ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. it seemed to never end. all the messages from the last two years finally reached him.
on his road trip back to colorado, every night, he would stay up and read the messages. he read them in order, and it was annoying to have to scroll all the way up every time he went to read, but his heart filled with such love for these people, his family, really, and he had missed them so much. he had fun, of course he had, and he had had amazing adventures, fought pirates, and saved levar burton from certain death. but at the end of the day, he still dreamed of coming home and seeing jeff, and shirley, and britta, and annie, and abed.
he tried to decipher the cryptic meow meow beans messages, but there were so few it was hard to tell what had happened. he read about jeff's 40th birthday, and shirley's very upset message from a heated game of dungeons and dragons. he learned about subway purchasing the school, and his friends' discovery of borchert's gold, saving the school.
he read all the messages from when this new woman, frankie, arrived at greendale. he read about the panicked texts concerning a dog named ruffles, and even more panicked and angry texts following what appeared to be a mass email leak. he read about abed's movie and chang's brief stint as a celebrated actor. he read about the paintball war, garrett's wedding, and finally, the night before he'd reach greendale, he had reached the end of the texts.
annie was saying goodbye; she was about to board her plane. troy wondered where she was going. apparently, wherever it was, shirley would be visiting and helping unpack that weekend. when had shirley left? that would explain her strange comments about a detective. jeff and britta wished annie well. were they still at greendale? jeff must still be teaching. was britta still a student?
then he saw abed's goodbye text. he was also going on a plane. different from annie's. where was he going?
when troy arrived at greendale, he went to see jeff. troy stood awkwardly at the door, unsure if he'd still be welcomed as a friend. he took a deep breath and knocked on the door. upon invitation, he opened the door to see jeff, looking a little older and more tired than he used to. jeff's mouth fell open, his eyes widened.
"troy."
"hey, jeff."
jeff stood, face revealing no emotion other tha surprise. he walked over to troy, who flinched, afraid of the angry yelling that would surely follow. but jeff hugged him.
"good to see you, man."
troy grinned, relieved to have been welcomed back by someone familiar. jeff stayed there, hugging him for longer than he normally would.
"hey, jeff, it's getting a bit hard to breathe..."
"right. sorry. it's just... you probably don't know, but everybody's gone-"
"i read in the group text. my phone blew up when i got back in the country. i just finished reading last night."
"yeah. i mean, britta's bartending in town, so i've still got her. and i've got frankie and even chang and the dean aren't so bad. i know them, at least. but shirley left to take care of her dad, and annie and abed left to go start their own lives. like you."
"where'd they go?"
"annie got an internship at the fbi. so she's in DC. and abed went to LA."
troy smiled. "of course he did."
"you can still stay in your apartment. britta moved in after you moved out; annie and abed left, but she's still there. you should go see her. she'll be really glad you're back." troy nodded.
so troy went back to apartment 303, and he told britta all about his travels, and jeff came for dinner and he told all the stories again, but his heart was heavy and hollow.
he knew he had no right to expect abed to wait for him. after all, they had to learn to be apart. that was what the boat trip was about. but greendale just wasn't the same without him. it was sad, empty, lacking the magic and life abed had brought to the campus. so that night, when jeff had gone home and britta had gone to bed, troy dialed the number he still knew by heart, that was on speed dial.
"this is abed nadir. i'm not available at the moment, but leave a message and i'll call you back." troy heard a quiet "pew pew" at the end. he imagined abed recording the message, doing his little finger guns. troy was trying to think of what message he could possibly leave that would convey everything he wanted to say, when suddenly there was a click.
"this is abed speaking." and it was then that troy knew what to say.
"hey, buddy."
EDIT: this is also on ao3 now under the same name!!

Valentine Event
In your attempt to escape the vampires that seemed to be taking over Riverdale you’d left town. Not staying very long in one place. You were currently bussing tables in a bar a few towns over. You’d thought about stopping in Greendale when the woman who worked in a milkshake shop offered you a place to stay.
But you decided that the further you were from the vampires, the better off you’d be. “We’re closing.” you said as someone sat at the bar. Last call had been thirty minutes ago and the regulars were filling out of the bar in small groups.
“I’m not here to drink.” You sighed when you saw Fangs.
“What do you want then? Because the customers are off limits too.” You said quickly and held your round tray up against yourself as if to put a barrier between the two of you.
“I’m here for you.” He answered with amusement until he saw the look on your face. “Well I’m here to be away from you so one of us will have to go.” You answered quickly. He shook his head and started to get up from the barstool.
“I can’t accept that answer.” He said in a firm tone. The hair on the back of your neck tingled. “The night we met I knew I needed you.”
His tone had changed. He stepped towards you. The last of the patrons had left. You were alone with him now. Even when you’d first met him. You hadn’t been alone.
“I have a choice. To kill you. Or take you to join us and I can’t do it.” His face stiffened and you backed away.
“You can just let me go.” You muttered as you tried to turn and back towards the door. He let you. Because he knew you wouldn’t make it or he wanted you too, you weren’t sure and didn’t care to find out.
“No. Because then they’ll kill me. I like being immortal. Just a little bit more than I love you.” Fangs said with a smile. It wasn’t a comforting smile. It was something else, a twisted smile that showed you his sharp teeth.
“You don’t love me. This isn't what someone who loved me would do.” You insisted. Just a few more steps and you’d be at the small staircase that led out of the bar.
“I’m giving you forever. With me. Who wouldn’t want that gift?” He insisted. Your heel hit the bottom stepp and there was a pause. The energy in the room peaked. He seemed to be waiting for your next move. You took the first step, not turning to run. He titled his head and watched you carefully. Then a burst of energy crossed the room. You used the tray to slam it against his face which caused him to growl. You hurried up the steps and slammed the door, running out to your car. As you pulled out of the car park you saw the door out to the carpark burst off its hinges. You saw him walk to the edge in the rearview mirror. But as soon as he met the dark he vanished from perceivable vision. You couldn’t stop, you needed help. But who would help you fight against vampires. They’d lock you up and he’d catch up to you.

Christmas at the Spellman’s - Part 1 | Nabrina
Summary: Sabrina takes Nick to her hometown for Christmas
Pairing: Sabrina Spellman x Nick Scratch
Word count: 0.6k
Note: There is no witches/magic in this
part 2 (coming soon)
-
''We don't have to go if you don't want to.''
Nick watched as Sabrina moved around their bedroom, picking clothes and placing them carefully in the open suitcase on the bed along with their toiletries. Their suitcase should've been packed and ready the day prior, but a last minute Christmas gathering with Nick's college friends seemed more fun at the time.
''That's where you are wrong. Aunt Zelda would never forgive me if I missed the Winter Solstice dinner,'' she corrected, knowing her aunt all too well. ''And, I miss my aunties, Ambrose...and Prudence.''
Nick choked a laugh, adding a couple items to his toiletry bag. ''Why do I feel a bitterness, here?'' Sabrina bit back a smile, folding a red sweater and placing it in the suitcase. ''May I ask who is this Prudence?''
''She's my cousin's girlfriend. Pardon me, I meant his fiancée.''
He hummed, taking notes. ''You don't approve, I assume,'' Nick asked, raising an eyebrow.
The blonde racked her brain, trying to find nicer words than saying she's a bitch. Nick wouldn't mind her using the word, but she couldn't keep using such words in her vocabulary. In a couple hours, she'll be in Greendale and her aunties won't approve of such language.
''I've known Prudence since primary school. Let's say, she's not who I would've hoped my dear cousin would chose for future wife.''
Nick cocked an eyebrow. ''Old rival from school, then?''
Sabrina gave him a tight lipped smile, holding her tongue. ''Let's put it like that.''
Chuckling, Nick nodded. ''I'm impatient to meet her. I bet she's a delight.''
Holding her laugh, the blonde tried to remain serious despite her boyfriend's humorous sarcasm. ''Let's finish packing,'' Sabrina decided, picking up a pair of trousers. ''We wouldn't want to be late to dinner.''
.
A couple hours later, they pulled into the driveway of her childhood home, a wave of nostalgia and excitement filling Sabrina's bones. It felt good to be home.
So many memories were made here.
She got her first broken bone from falling off the porch rail when playing circus artists with Ambrose and walking on it. Behind the house, there was the woods that led to Harvey's house, the same woods she found Salem in years ago. Poor kitten was lost and hungry and so cold; Sabrina had to bring him home.
Sabrina smiled. ''Here we are: the Spellman Mortuary,'' she introduced.
Honestly, the house wasn't what Nick had expected. Far from. Sabrina had told him it was an old house, but this was ancient. The architecture, the color of the wood and bricks - even the windows. Everything looked like it was from another century.
''I feel like I'm gonna have dinner with the Addams,'' Nick joked, cutting the contact of the car.
''Nick!'' Sabrina swatted his arm, the smile on her face betraying her offense.
''I don't mind the Addams. They're an interesting family.''
Sabrina shook her head. ''Don't make jokes of the sort to Aunt Z if you don't want to have to find a hotel for the night and the rest of our stay,'' she warned Nick before they exited the car. ''Oh! And don't take the bags. We're already five minutes late. Aunt Z must be fuming.''
.
As expected, Zelda greeted her niece and beau with an annoyed frown.
''You're late,'' the woman pointed out, a cigarette holder on her left hand. ''The least you could do was to arrive on time. Hilda spent all day cooking for this dinner.''
''Sorry, Aunt Z. A car accident caused terrible traffic on the highway,'' Sabrina explained.
''There's always traffic on the highway, Sabrina. You should've known better and left earlier.''
Sabrina looked down and agreed. ''We could've...''
Beside her, Nick watched the interaction between the two Spellmans, not liking the way the tall - and haughty - woman was talking to Sabrina. If it had been anyone else, he would've called it out and told the person off, but he didn't want to argue with Sabrina's family nor cause a scene on their first night. Getting on Zelda Spellman's bad side was not on the agenda.
Zelda turned to Nick, looking at him up and down, studying him. ''You must be Nicholas.''
''Nick,'' he corrected.
She took a drag of her cigarette and blew the smoke out. ''Nicholas.''

Hell Takes Riverdale pt. II
Imagine moving to Riverdale while your father has some business to attend to. While there, you meet some people you find yourself growing attached to. (In which the other three most important serpents accept Y/N and shit goes down).
You can find part one right HERE.
Words: 12.9K Author’s Note: Violence. Somewhat.
For the next couple of days, you're a little bummed that no one other than Jughead texts you to see what you're up to. You respect your friends' decision to distance themselves, but it still hurts. And not even Jughead's words of assurance are enough to ease your mind.
Your mood sours even more when you and your dad are visited by the Plague Kings who are rather pushy and wondering about when their Queen will return to finally marry a Prince of their choosing. Lucifer managed to make you bite your tongue, answering their questions with questions of his own and annoying them enough that they returned to Hell rather quickly.
"I am not marrying Caliban, dad," you tell him. "The only reason they're pushing this marriage is because they don't like a woman in charge. You have no idea how close I am to just putting Lilith in charge in my absence."
Lucifer chuckles. "Fret not, darling. As soon as Riverdale sees the error of their ways I will be returning to Hell to reclaim my throne." You frown and your dad's smile turns genuine, not a hint of mockery in his tone or expression. "I wanted you to rule Hell, but you've seem to have found your footing here on Earth."
"Dad.."
"So I'll reclaim Hell and leave you with Riverdale. All I want for you is to be happy, my darling daughter, and if those in Riverdale give you that happiness, then who am I to take that away and make you rule a place where your subjects would see you dead rather than on the throne?"
"I don't know about that," you mumble. "The only ones speaking to me right now are Jughead and FP."
"The others will come around. Trust me. Especially little miss Pinky. She's been yelling at the boys to get their head out of their asses."
"Yeah? If that were the case then she would have visited me herself with or without the boys."
"Give them a bit more time. It's like FP said- they're a loyal bunch. They just need to wrap their minds around a few things."
"If you say so." You watch as your dad fiddles with his cufflinks. "Well while you're out ruining lives, I'll be downstairs in the theatre. I don't feel like going out tonight."
Lucifer chuckles. "Sweetheart, you haven't been out in the last few nights. Or to school for that matter, but I get it. Shall I tell your friends where you are if they ask?"
"I don't care, dad. Tell them whatever you want."
Before your dad can leave, you head downstairs to the basement where you set up a movie theatre in your free time. Closest to the stairs, a kitchenette of sorts was installed so you didn't have to go far for snacks, a projector hung from the center of the ceiling and was pointed towards the back wall where a large white screen was installed. There's a large sofa in the middle of the room, which is larger than a king sized bed, and a speaker in every corner of the room so you can really enjoy whatever movie or show you watch.
After turning on the projector and searching for something to watch on your laptop, you settle down in the middle of the sofa and snuggle down with a blanket and pillows. You're watching a show where each episode is about a different murder mystery and you're two episodes in when the doorbell rings. You groan and remain laying down, hoping whoever is at the door goes away, when it rings again.
Pausing the show, you roll out of your haven of comfort and trudge upstairs. You yank open the front door upon the third ringing of the bell and not even the sight of three faces you'd been longing to see is enough to pull you from your funk. "What?"
Toni's eyebrows raise at your tone and the two boys grin at your pouty expression. Sweet Pea reaches forward, tugging on a loose strand of hair. "And to think you're the daughter of the devil. You're as adorable as an angry kitten."
You slap at his hand, exhaling loudly as the three of them chuckle. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Can't we visit our friend?" Fangs shrugs. Your expression softens just so at the casual mention of him calling you their friend. "It's been a few days. We missed you glaring the Ghoulies into submission at school."
"That and we might have overheard your dad telling FP about some demons demanding you return to Hell and marry some douchebag prince," Toni says. "No way are you running off and getting hitched before you tell us what the hell that is all about."
You glance between all three of them and, seeing as they're trying, you decide to let them in. "If you're going to stay, shoes come off. We're going to be in the theatre."
"Theatre?" Sweet Pea wonders.
Finally grinning, you step back from the door and gesture them inside. Seeing that you're in socks, Toni readily kicks off her boots. Fangs shrugs and does the same, and Sweet Pea sighs before toeing off his own boots as well.
Afterwards you lead them down into the basement and choke down a laugh when Toni gasps at your setup. "We've been having sleepovers and movie nights at my trailer when you had this beneath your house?!"
"Well to be fair, I couldn't bring any of you over because I couldn't risk anyone from Hell popping in while I had you over." Toni, Sweet Pea, and Fangs all tense and you crawl onto the sofa to get comfortable. "But they've been chased away for now so there's no worry." Slowly but surely your friends crawl in, but only Toni is brave enough to sit directly next to you. Fangs stays on Toni's other side while Sweet Pea lays across the end of the sofa. "So any questions before I restart my murder mystery marathon?"
"Well you can start with these plague kings or whatever the hell your dad was talking about," Sweet Pea says. "What's their deal?"
You sigh, dragging a blanket to cover your lap. "So the thing is," you start to tell them, "the throne was never meant to be mine. Lucifer had his sights set on his first born daughter since she's a witch-"
"Witches exist?!" Fangs exclaims.
"Yep. So do a lot of other things," you muse. "I'd stay away from Greendale if I were you." His eyes widen, but Toni and Sweet Pea merely chuckle. "Anyway, my sister was supposed to take after my dad, but she refused him. She was raised to believe Lucifer was the ultimate evil and she didn't want to follow in his footsteps."
"So when do you come in?" Toni asks.
"About a few years ago," you admit. "When my sister refused him, Lucifer sought me out since I'm only a couple hours younger. He brought me into the fold, showed me and told me everything I'd need to know, and I accepted. I learned all about the ins and outs of Hell, learned exactly who is who, but since I'm still half mortal none of the higher ups don't exactly accept me. My coronation almost didn't happen, but it did and now the Plague Kings have been hounding my dad to marry me off to some prince Caliban since he was quite literally made in Hell."
"Well you aren't going through with it, are you?" Sweet Pea asks.
"Ugh. No," you scoff. "I was meant to rule a lot longer than what I have, but no one could have guessed that I'd get attached to a couple of snakes here in Riverdale." You glance at Toni and nudge her arm. "So as of right now, my dad is closing up a few deals before he reclaims his throne down in Hell and I'm left up here in the mortal realm to do as I please. I'll still be obligated to visit Hell, but my main residence will be here."
"And you're okay with that?" Toni asks. "Giving up the title of queen, I mean."
"Of course. I spent many years not knowing who my biological father was and living life like a normal mortal," you say. "I have quite a few perks now, my dad has made a mortal his best friend for the first time ever, and I- I like it here. I like you guys."
"Aww," Toni coos. "You're giving up a throne for us?"
"I guess so." You glance between all three of them. "So are we going to watch something or are we going to play twenty questions all night?"
Fangs glances around, spotting your laptop and pulling it into his lap to search through Netflix. "If we're watching something, we're not watching murder mysteries. Riverdale is weird enough."
Sweet Pea huffs. "You got that right."
"Fine. Pick whatever you want."
Fangs and Sweet Pea settle on the Conjuring much to Toni's dismay and your amusement. You and Toni prop up a mountain of pillows at your back while Fangs uses Toni's thigh as his pillow. Sweet Pea snags a pillow of his own, laying on his side and shoving the pillow between his arm and head as he faces the screen. You turn out the lights, Fangs hits play, and you watch the tale unfold about a haunted house that terrorizes a family. There are a few eerie moments and jump scares that startle all four of you, but only you and Toni roll into each other giggling while the boys swear at you.
Then after the first movie ends, everyone takes a pee break and you lead Toni into your room so she can find something more comfortable to wear seeing as they plan to watch a couple more movies. When you get back down into the basement, you smile as you realize the boys have made full use of the kitchenette and have snacks and drinks waiting for you all on the sofa, and the Conjuring 2 waiting to be played. When the boys complain about the unfairness of your comfort clothes, you tell them you can grab them pajama bottoms from your dad's dresser for them. They hesitate and Toni rolls her eyes, telling you to grab some pants for them. And a little while later, after the boys have changed into the cotton pajama pants, you can't help but laugh as they boast about wearing the devil's pants.
As everyone finally settles down, the boys join you and Toni at the sofa's backrest. You and her are in the middle with Fangs on her other side and Sweet Pea on yours. The lights turn out again, the movie plays, and you soak in the closeness of your friends. Halfway through the boys collect the bowls and trash, and take it to the kitchenette. You and Toni stretch out then, laying on your sides in the middle of the sofa with you cuddling her from behind as you face the screen. The boys coo and Fangs dives in front of Toni so she can cuddle him and Sweet Pea hesitantly slides in behind you. You grin at him over your shoulder and then try to focus back on the movie.
"Is this okay?" Sweet Pea murmurs, his large hand squeezing your hip.
His lips brushing the shell of your ear makes you shiver. "Mhm." You pause to clear your throat and lean back a little bit until the back of your shoulder hits his chest. "If, uh, if my dad shows up just ignore his orgy comments."
He chuckles. "What?"
"Apparently orgies are common down in the pits. Everyone's been waiting for the Queen- soon to be Princess again- to have her first one, but I don't think I'll ever be ready for that."
"What!?" The movie is paused and Fangs immediately turns around, Toni grunting but turning as much as she can as well. "You're gonna have an orgy?!"
"What? No!" You laugh. You gulp when you feel Sweet Pea squeeze your hip again. "I just said I don't think I'll ever be ready for that."
"Think being the key word," Toni muses and you groan.
"Well if you agree to one, in Hell or Riverdale, think of me. I'll join." Fangs winks at you and Toni laughs.
"Screw it. Count me in too."
You giggle, shaking your head at them. "Guys, you were literally scared of me days of ago because of who I am and now you wanna have sex with me?"
"Well not with you exactly," Fangs says. "Don't get me wrong, you're hot, but someone's already called dibs and-"
"What?" You frown.
Fangs eyes seem to widen then, momentarily darting over your head. "N-Nothing. Nevermind." Toni giggles at his rambling. "But yeah, orgies. Woo."
Having heard enough, Toni pushes Fangs' forehead away from her so he'll turn around. "Can we table the topic of orgies for now? Let's get back to our movie."
Fangs grumbles but turns around nonetheless and the movie resumes.
You get through the second movie with no problem, but before a third could be chosen a loud crack of thunder interrupts the tranquility of the basement.
"Shit." Sweet Pea is the first to rush off the sofa, followed by Fangs and then Toni. Everyone scrambles upstairs and the front door is thrown open, and all three groan at the drizzle that will no doubt turn into a full blown downpour in no time. "We need to move our bikes."
"The garage," you tell them. "Bring them into the garage." Your hurry towards the kitchen where there's a door that connects to the garage, hitting a switch that opens up the door. You step down, watching as your three friends drive their bikes into the safety of the garage so the rain won't ruin their leather seats. "All good?" You ask as they turn off the engines and dismount.
Another crack of thunder has you flinching and hugging yourself. Sweet Pea eyes you warily and you offer him a feeble smile. "You good?" He asks instead.
"Mhm. I'm just- I'm not a fan of thunderstorms."
Toni grins. "Seriously? You see demons on the reg and you're afraid of a little lightning and thunder?"
"I know. It's dumb. Can we go back downstairs now or do you need another change of clothes? You guys can spend the night if you want so you don't have to drive on slick roads."
"We're hardly even damp," Toni tells you. "We're fine."
You flinch yet again when the thunder cracks, louder now, and Sweet Pea chuckles at you. You frown at him, walking back into your house after hitting the switch to close the garage. The others follow you and you head back down into the basement, readily climbing under the blankets.
"Aw. Don't worry, Y/N. We'll protect you." As Sweet Pea crawls back in, he pillows his head on your chest and wraps an arm around your stomach.
For some reason, being weighed down seems to calm you so you lay one hand on his arm over your stomach and the other around his back to let him know you were okay with his position. Fangs grins at you and Toni smiles warmly, her eyes darting between you and Sweet Pea before the two of them settle down on your other side.
Apparently Fangs has taken it upon himself to pick what you're watching and you're so wrapped up in the fact a thunderstorm is raging outside that you don't mind his choosing of the Fast and the Furious. Then during the second movie in that series, the boys have apparently fallen asleep and you know you'll be joining them soon.
"I think I've figured it out."
Toni's voice startles you and you quickly run your fingers through Sweet Pea's hair, gently scratching at his scalp to calm him back to sleep. "Figured what out?" You mumble.
"That serpent you had your eye on." You freeze and she quietly giggles. "It's Sweet Pea, isn't it?"
You mull over her words for a moment until you exhale softly. "Yes, but I'm pretty sure being the daughter of the devil killed any chance we could have had."
"Are you kidding me? That boy is head over heels," Toni says. "Yes, your true identity threw him off a little, but I mean look at him! He's wrapped around you, head on your tits." You can't help but giggle, frowning at Toni when Sweet Pea stirs yet again. "Shut up. You're gonna wake him up."
"You two are adorable. He's not as aggressive when you're around and I've noticed tonight you smile a little bit brighter when it comes to him. I give you guys a couple of weeks top before someone makes a move."
"You're delusional, Topaz. Get some sleep."
She smiles at you. "Just you wait and see, Morningstar. And besides, you didn't see his face when we were talking about orgies. If looks could kill, Fangs would be dead right now."
"Mhm. We'll see."
Over the next couple of weeks, the three friends of yours seem to be at ease with you once more. Jughead was always at ease with you and your dad, so it was a relief when Toni, Sweet Pea, and Fangs started loosening up as well. There were times, however, when Sweet Pea and Fangs would straighten up whenever your dad walked into the room and that highly amused you every single time.
Your basement seemed to become hangout central and Jughead often joked that it was a shame everyone knew about it now. Which then led to Fangs and Sweet Pea ganging up on him for keeping it a secret.
You, Toni, Jughead, and Sweet Pea find yourselves at Pop's one day while Fangs went to visit a family member. You and Sweet Pea are practically sitting thigh to thigh on one side of the booth with Toni and Jug across from you. Toni, to this day, hasn't let you live it down that you have a crush on her longtime friend and it seems Jughead has now noticed it too. It also doesn't help that Sweet Pea is oddly rather touchy and has taken to slinging his arm across your shoulders whenever you're near- something which sets your heart racing every single time and fighting off a telltale blush that threatens to bloom.
"Alright," Jughead muses as Pop delivers your milkshakes, "so we were meant to celebrate the good news together, but Fangs isn't here so we'll just have celebratory shakes instead."
Your brow furrows. "Celebrate what?"
"You haven't heard?" Toni wonders. "Y/N, your dad bought Sunnyside Trailer Park." Your eyes widen and your friends chuckle at your expression.
"He visited my dad a few weeks ago and was appalled at our living conditions."
"Oh no," you mumble. "He was rude, wasn't he? I'm so so-"
"Actually," Toni interrupts, "he wasn't. "Either the devil has seriously gone soft or he's always been this amazing person because not only did he wipe out rent for everyone in the park, but he's also having the trailers renovated. My grandpa is seriously so happy to have his porch and the leaky roof in his bedroom fixed."
"Oh." You allow yourself to relax. "That's seriously really cool of him," you say. "I wonder why he didn't tell me?"
"Y/N!" Your attention is quickly diverted to Veronica Lodge as she marches up to you, milkshake in hand, and Archie trailing after her as he quietly tries to direct her elsewhere. "What the hell is your dad playing at?"
You frown as you stare up at her, Sweet Pea's arm tightening around you as he tries to pull you closer to him. "Excuse me?"
"Every bank account under my family's name, personal and business, has been frozen. Care to explain?"
It takes a moment for her words to sink in and when they do you hold back a snort that wants to break free. Your father was very vindictive. "I don't know what to tell you, Veronica. I don't put my nose where it doesn't belong. Maybe you should take a page out of my book and stay out of it."
She scoffs. "Please. Daddy has eyes everywhere. We know you're in the thick of things as well. You're not fooling anyone, Y/N. You're exactly like your mafioso father."
"Mafioso? You think my dad is part of the mafia?" You giggle. Toni, Jughead, and Sweet Pea share your amusement. "Oh Veronica," you coo, "the only mafioso in this town is your crooked father. And at that he's not very good at it, is he?"
Before anyone can even blink, the strawberry milkshake in her hand is being up-ended on your face. "Ronnie!" Archie is quick to yank her back, stepping in front of her as Sweet Pea growls and moves to stand up.
But since he's stuck between you and the wall, you raise your arm closest to him and drag him back down by his wrist. With your free hand, you wipe away some of the milkshake from your cheek with your forefinger and pop it in your mouth, sucking it clean. "Delicious," you purr. Grabbing the offered napkin from a still shell shocked Jughead, you wipe more of it out of your eyes. "Hate me all you want Veronica, but your family won't be crawling out of this hole your father dug. Enjoy the luxuries you still have while they last because the Lodge's are done." Veronica huffs, stomping away in a fit of anger. You smirk, chuckling as the other few patrons sitting around stare at you in shock, picking up more napkins to clean your face and shirt when you notice Archie Andrews still standing by the booth. "Yes?"
He shoves his hands in his jean's pockets, staring off in the direction his girlfriend left before looking at you yet again. "All I've been hearing for this past month is what a horrible man your father is." You blink at him, wondering where he's going with this. "So give it to me straight, Y/N. Does my dad have anything to worry about with your dad?"
And oh. Okay. Now you understand why he stayed back and why he's worried. Your father basically ruined the Lodge's, but Archie's never been terrible to you so you decide to ease his mind. "Mr. Andrews has nothing to worry about," you tell him honestly. "Apparently my dad's on the track of doing several good deeds for the town of Riverdale and FP told my dad all about Fred Andrews' hard working nature. He only wants to help those he thinks deserve the help. No strings attached."
"It's true," Jughead tells his friend. "Mr. Morningstar bought Southside High and got jingle jangle out of the halls."
"He bought Sunnyside and wiped out our rent," Sweet Pea says. "There's a crew coming in that's going to start hauling out all the junk and fixing up our trailers."
"In the couple of months that Mr. Morningstar has been here, he's purchased and cleaned up the southside rather than tearing our school and homes down and building over it," Toni tells him. "Could you say Hiram Lodge would have done the same for us?"
Archie shifts uncomfortably under everyone's gaze and you say, "Hiram and my dad had business dealings going back to before we were born. He royally messed up and my dad cleaned it up." You then offer him a faint grin. "My dad is not the horrible person you've no doubt heard about from your girlfriend and her family. Keep that in mind."
The redhead nods. "Thanks. And uh, I'm sorry about Veronica. I tried to stop her."
You shrug. "No harm done. The clothes can be washed. You and me are good, but if your girlfriend steps up to me again I won't be settling things with words."
He huffs a small laugh. "Duly noted." He then glances at the occupant across the booth from you. "See you around, Jug."
As soon as Archie takes his leave, your three friends all converge on you.
"Are you okay?" Jughead immediately asks.
"Girl, you have been blessed with the patience of a million people because I would have lunged across this table if it weren't for your calm demeanor," Toni says.
"I was so close to shanking her," Sweet Pea mumbles.
You snort and swat at his chest with the back of your hand. "It's just a little ice cream, guys. No biggie." You pull at your shirt, nose wrinkling. "I'm just going to go clean up in the bathroom. I'll be back."
"Oh hey," Toni climbs over the back of her seat, hopping out of the booth behind her to meet you, "I have some clothes in my bike's bag if you're interested."
"Yeah. Just bring it to the bathroom."
You head to the bathroom, not caring a bit about your clothes and instead turn on the water at the sink to wash off the stickiness of the ice cream that stayed behind on your skin. Toni appears not a minute later, clothes in hand, and you readily strip out of your jeans right then and there. She doesn't bat an eye and tosses you the pants first.
When you catch them, you give her a deadpan stare which she laughs at. "Leather? Seriously?"
"Put them on, Y/N."
You grumble all the while, putting one leg in and then the other, you almost falling a couple of times as you drag the leather up your legs. Toni is no help, she laughing at your misfortune and then at your exasperated, "Fucking hell. How do you breathe in these?" She tosses the shirt at you next and you glare when you see all the mesh involved. "My tits are gonna be out."
"No they won't. There's material sewn in so there no nip slips. You'll just be showing off the perfect amount of skin."
"I hate you." You strip off your shirt, turning around and stripping off your bra as well. You pull the long sleeve shirt on, frowning when you realize there's only a single band of material that wraps around your breasts. Everything else is see through. "I seriously hate you."
"Yeah well you're about to hate me more."
Toni quickly grabs up your discarded clothing and books it out of the bathroom, you lunging after her. She laughs as she makes a break for the exit and you freeze right before you can enter the main part of the diner. Through the windows you can see her stashing your clothes in the bag on her bike and you mumble threats at her as she re-enters the diner, walking towards the boys.
You've worn a couple of risqué outfits in front of your friends by now, but the shirt makes you feel really exposed. So after gathering your wits, and wishing you could just disappear in a swirl of flames, you march out from behind the wall and towards your friends. Sweet Pea is the first to see you and his eyes widen before they glance up and down your form. Jughead and Toni turn around in their seats, Jug's eyes widening before he laughs and Toni snapping a few photos on her phone. You pout at them as you cross your arms over your chest. "I'm ready to go now. Toni's clothes and I do not mix."
Sweet Pea seems to snap out of his stupor long enough to stand up and shed his jacket, then draping it over your shoulders. You exhale in relief and quickly shove your arms through the sleeves, smiling up at him until Toni coos and your gaze darts to her. If looks could kill, your friend would be seriously maimed.
"So are you guys ready for the Whyte Wyrm?" Jughead asks. "Fangs texted that he's on the way there right now."
"Sure, but we're swinging by my house first so I can get back into my own clothes."
"Do we have to?" Sweet Pea's voice rumbles directly above you. "I'm kind of into this look you have going on right now."
You freeze and glance upward, reaching out to poke his chest. "Don't press your luck, Sweets. Now come on. You're driving me."
"Yes, ma'am," he chuckles and follows after you.
Jughead and Toni watch as their friends leave, grinning at the sight of their friend swamped in Sweet Pea's serpent jacket. "Is it just me or is Sweet Pea seriously sweet on the devil's daughter?"
Toni chuckles. "That's nothing. You should see the way they sleep when we spend the night down in the theatre. You would think Y/N would be wrapped around him, but nope. Sweet Pea uses Y/N as his personal pillow and practically glares Fangs to death every time Lucifer brings up orgies."
Jughead's laugh falters. "O-Orgies?"
"Yeah. Apparently they're part of the norm down in Hell. I'm pretty sure Lucifer is gonna give Pea a heart attack one of these days if he keeps mentioning Y/N having her first one."
He shakes his head, chuckling. "Life with the devil and his daughter just keeps getting weirder and weirder."
"Preaching to the choir, Jug."
You're at home, alone for a change, and making yourself something to eat. Every now and then you just needed a day or two for yourself to decompress and it was something that your new friends seemed to understand. Especially since the Ghoulies started to push back, something having changed within their ranks and making them that much more cocky, and you had your hands full with them. But thankfully, they couldn't reclaim the school.
You manage to eat at least half a plate pasta when your cell rings, the unknown number making you frown. You take a sip of water before answering.
"Hello?"
"Y/N?" Toni's voice wavers over the line. "You need to get down to the hospital."
"Hospital?" You sit a little straighter in your seat. "What happened?"
"It's Jughead." She says. "The Ghoulies and Penny beat him. It's not good, Y/N."
The blood in your veins runs cold. You mind blanks before rage seeps in. "They what?" You seethe.
"FP's a mess. And they also stabbed Fangs, but it's nothing serious. And Sweet Pea-"
"What did they do to Sweet Pea?"
"He's fine." She's quick to assure you. "He's the least injured with a busted lip and bruised eye. He's more pissed and worried about Jug and Fangs right now."
You can feel your body trembling. "Toni, is there anyone around you right now?"
"No. The payphone was down some deserted hallway."
"Good. Give me a few seconds and I'll be right there." You hang up on her, pushing up from your chair and rushing down the hall to put on some shoes. You forgo any type of jacket, your cable knit sweater and plaid skirt just going to have to do. You inhale and exhale deeply, closing your eyes and concentrating on Toni. Once you feel like you've sussed her out, you will yourself to be taken to her and the telltale whoosh of flames lets you know they've done their job. When your eyes open, Toni's staring wide-eyed at you. "Take me to the boys."
Toni numbly nods, turning around and rushing down the hall. You're fast on her heels, your rage still boiling beneath the surface. Especially when you're led to the waiting room where your dad casually sits in a chair and FP paces in front of him. Archie Andrews and Betty Cooper are a few chairs down, and Sweet Pea is not far from them.
You completely pass up your dad and FP, heading straight for Sweet Pea. When he sees you, he attempts to stand but you catch his face in your hands and gently cradle it to examine his wounds. "What happened?"
"Ghoulies," he mumbles. His hands come up to wrap around your wrists, trying to smile reassuringly at you, but then flinching when his split lip stretches. "And Penny. She's back and out for your blood."
"She's dead," you murmur.
Sweet Pea's eyes widen. "Y/N-"
"Don't." You meet his gaze and you can see the concern there. You offer him a feeble smile in return, leaning down and pressing your lips to his forehead. "She will not get away with touching what is mine. She's dead."
As you pull back to make sure he understands you're being serious, you see him gulp and tersely nod. You drop your hands and step back from him, and he's quick to stand. Towering over you, he reaches down and grabs your hand within his own. He seems almost nervous about his move, but you merely squeeze his hand in response and lead him towards FP. Your dad stands as you pass him this time, joining you, Sweet Pea, and the elder Jones in the corner of the waiting room.
"I am so sorry, FP," you tell him.
He glances at you, eyes red-rimmed as he smoothes his hair back with one hand. "Not your fault, kid. I should have known Penny wouldn't have been kept at bay so easily. Or that she'd sit idly by as Lucifer took up Ghoulie territory."
You shake your head at him. "Penny doesn't know what we're truly capable of- she only thinks we're good with our fists and blades. She doesn't know that by touching my boys, she just signed her death certificate."
FP blinks at you as Lucifer chuckles. "Ding dong the witch is dead."
"So dead," you quietly seethe. Glancing up at Sweet Pea, you say, "I need you to take me to where they're laying low."
"I'm not taking you directly to them. It's you they're after, Y/N. Penny knew the only way to make you a loose cannon was to attack those closest to you."
"I am not a loose cannon, Pea. I am focused." You squeeze his hand. "I've never been this focused before, but if you won't take me I'll just get my dad to suss her out and you'll miss all the action."
"We'll take you," FP says. "I wanna be there for her downfall."
"And the Ghoulies," you tell him. "Whoever laid a finger on the boys are all going down."
Sweet Pea sighs. "You're gonna be the death of me." Lucifer full blown smirks and FP cracks a grin at the serpent in distress. "Fine. We'll take you, but you're riding with me."
And if they didn't think you were serious before, they know now seeing as you didn't make a joke about riding with FP like you normally would have given the chance.
Toni steps up to the group then, FP grasping her by the shoulder and leaning in to murmur, "Stay with Jug. We'll be back." She looks at you, but you subtly shake your head and she takes a seat in one of the waiting room chairs.
Hand in hand, you and Sweet Pea stalk out of the hospital with FP at your side. Lucifer decides to hang back as well, saying he's just going to check on Jughead as soon as he can and jumpstart the boy's healing process.
On the back of Pea's bike, you hang on to his waist and let the wind whip at your face and hair. Your rage at Penny and the Ghoulies has overcome you, that not even the sting of the cold air or cold drizzle is enough to faze you. It's about a ten minute ride to the clearing and by the time you get there your rage has made you eerily calm. The bikes are shut off and off in the distance, just beyond a bridge, there are several barrels emitting flames. As you climb off, FP and Sweet Pea stand on either side of you as they glance around your surroundings.
"Whatever you see, let it happen. I won't be responsible for what happens if anyone tries to interfere with what I'm doing."
The both of them mumble their acknowledgements and then you're walking. The clearing seems void of any life, but then the blonde bitch you watched Maze beat down and threaten over a month ago saunters out from between the trees. And she's not alone. About ten to fifteen Ghoulies come out from between the trees behind her and spread out.
"Tall Boy?" You glance at FP and follow his gaze, frowning at the semi-familiar Serpent standing with Penny Peabody.
"Told you going after the Jones kid would bring the little bitch out." Tall Boy chuckles and Penny looks like Christmas has come early.
"What the hell, man?!" Sweet Pea shouts. "You sent the Snake Charmer and her junkie little lap dogs after us? Serpents don't betray Serpents!"
"That's rich coming from you, boy." He huffs. Tall Boy points at FP as he says, "He teamed up with outsiders and practically lets them have free reign of the Whyte Wyrm."
"And don't forget he let his little lap dogs take me out of town and cut me up," Penny says. "But now I'm back, better than ever, and I'm out for blood. That," she points directly at you, "little bitch's blood to be exact."
Sweet Pea steps forward in your defense, but you grab his arm and pull him back. FP steps up to your side again, clearly not letting Tall Boy's betrayal go. "So what? Say you do take out Lucifer and Y/N. What is that going to solve? You're out Tall Boy. Exiled. You have no home here. Not anymore."
He shrugs. "Well then I guess I'll take out their king and rule the Serpents myself."
"I'd like to see you try." Everyone glances at you, your too calm tone seeming out of place for the current confrontation taking place. "Let's go, Tall Boy. You and me. Right here, right now."
"Uh, Y/N?" Sweet Pea says.
You step forward, gaze set on the Serpent in question. "What's wrong, Tall Boy? Are you afraid of a little girl?"
Tall Boy, Penny, and all the hopped up Ghoulies laugh, and you step forward. Tall Boy meets you halfway, grinning. "As soon as I'm done with you, my boys are gonna carve up your boys and then I'm gonna make a quick trip down to the hospital and finish what we started with Jughead."
"Oh Tall Boy," you mockingly smile. "Shut the fuck up."
He lunges forward to grab you, but you're quick to duck into a crouch and send your fist flying into his groin. You slide to the right and kick in the back of his knee, then sweeping his legs out from under him. You slap a hand down on his forehead, Tall Boy's screams resonating around the clearing as he convulses beneath your hand. You glance up and meet Penny's gaze head on. Her eyes widen and you sneer at her, and then you look back down at Tall Boy as you release him.
"Exile is too good for the likes of you," you say as he tries to scramble to his feet. On his forehead, there appears to be three claw marks branded there. "So I want you to run like the hounds of hell are after you, Tall Boy. Because they will be." As if on cue, eerie howls rip through the air and you slowly stand tall. Everyone tenses and glances around, but only Tall Boy seems to be staring at something that only he can see. You glance over your shoulder, grinning as two hellhounds step out from the shadows and brush up against FP and Sweet Pea. The two of them freeze and shift to the side, and you beckon the hellhounds closer to you. They stand at your side, under your palms, and you grin at Tall Boy. "Run, Tall Boy. My babies are hungry."
The hellhounds snarl as Tall Boy turns around to run and you click your tongue a minute later to let the hounds loose. Tall Boy can be heard screaming deep into the windows and you smile innocently at Penny and all the Ghoulies. A Ghoulie steps forward, taking Tall Boy's place next to Penny. His wild and curly hair hangs to his shoulders, and black coal is smeared across his eyes which seem a little too wide for any sober person.
"One down," you muse. "Who's next?"
"What the hell did you do to Tall Boy?" Penny seethes. She steps forward and you smile at her.
"Penny, Penny, Penny," you tut. "You're in no position to be asking questions." Your smile drops as your gaze hardens. "You should have listened and stayed out of Riverdale."
"Who the hell do you think you are, little girl?"
"Why I'm the queen of hell, of course." You smile innocently as lightning suddenly forks across the sky and everyone ducks on instinct. Penny and her ghoulish companion look up before they glance warily back at you, and you smirk. "Now kneel." A moment of silence passes before Penny and her friends laugh. Your smirk drops. "I said kneel!" You snap your fingers and everyone standing across from you falls to their knees. They glance around wildly, not knowing why they listened.
You stalk forward, your feet unknowingly leaving behind smoldering prints and lightning flashes ominously across the sky. "You mortals never listen," you seethe, your voice changing and sending chills down everyone's spine. "And now I'm going to finish what Mazikeen should have done the first time around."
Penny spits at your feet. "Screw you. You don't have what it takes to play with the adults, sweetheart."
"No?" You walk forward until you're just in front of Penny, reaching out and walking your fingers along her forehead until she jerks out of reach. "I command a legion of demons, sweetheart," you mock her. "You have no idea what I'm capable of." Penny opens her mouth to no doubt spew some idiot bullshit and you sigh. "Bored now. Bye bye, Snake Charmer." You shove your palm against Penny's forehead, smiling as a glow emits from your palm and seeps into her head.
Her mouth gapes open as she screams, her own eyes and mouth slowly emitting the same glow from your hand before her screams die out and she falls back. Dead.
Her ghoulish companion stares up at you in fear. "What the fuck are you?"
"Don't you listen, Malachi?" You sweetly coo. His eyes subtly widen at you knowing who he is.
"Queen of Hell. Yeah, I got that," he says. Suddenly his resolve seems to harden. "But what you don't seem to know is that you messed with the wrong ghoul. You see, I overthrow royalty." Before you can blink, his arm is raising and you see the glint of a blade a second too late.
The sharpened metal is embedded in your gut and he laughs cruelly.
"Y/N!" Sweet Pea and FP yell.
But you merely stumble back a single step, glancing down at the knife before you grab the hilt and yank it free. Dropping it, you look at Malachi from under your lashes. "That was a very stupid move." He snorts, but before he can say another word you reach forward with both hands and twist his head violently to the side.
As you glance up at the rest of the Ghoulies, you're met with fearful stares. You want to make each and every one of them suffer, every single face staring up at you guilty for having taken part in putting Jug and Fangs in the hospital. Stalking towards the first Ghoulie, you ignore their whimpers and press a single finger to the middle of their forehead. "Death is too harsh at the moment for the lot of you," you say. The Ghoulie beneath your finger screams before passing out, he falling limp to the ground. "So live your life to the fullest," you say as you touch the next one, "because the moment you cease to live, your soul will be dragged to Hell where you'll be tortured over and over and over again." At the next Ghoulie, you chuckle. "You really shouldn't have touched what was mine."
One by one, the Ghoulies fall unconscious under your hand. The clearing is littered with unconscious junkies, and by the time you turn around FP and Sweet Pea are a lot closer than they were earlier. FP is staring at you like he can't believe what he's just seen, but Sweet Pea's gaze is set on your abdomen where your blood has soaked through your sweater. You glance down, pressing your hand to your wound and then bringing your hand away soaked with blood.
"Oh. Well that's not good." You stumble backwards, but hands are quick to catch you before you can fall. Looking up at your savior, you smile shakily at the boy who had quickly won over your affections. "Hey Pea."
"Hey." His own smile is shaky as well, but the concern is clear as day. "You put on quite the show there, babe. What the hell did you do to the Ghoulies?"
"N-Nothing. Just branded their souls for a f-future trip down to Hell. And I made them forget what they'd seen here so they can't tell anyone."
FP comes up to your side then, grinning. "Smart move, Morningstar. Now come on. Let's get you to the hospital. We need to get you checked out."
Your teeth chatter as you nod. "O-Okay."
You gasp as Sweet Pea literally sweeps you off your feet, one arm beneath your knees and the other supporting your upper back as he walks you towards his bike. Instead of reprimanding him for the sudden movement, you lean your head against his chest and let your eyes fall shut. Gosh, you're so sleepy.
"Hey. Y/N, wake up."
"M'tired."
"I know, babe, but you still need to keep your eyes open."
"Five more minutes."
Sweet Pea sighs. "If you don't open up your eyes, you're gonna miss a shirtless FP."
Your nose wrinkles and a moment passes before you crack open one eye. "You're a dirty rotten liar, Pea."
His upper body shakes with his quiet laughter. "Did you really just open one eye to see if I was telling the truth?"
"I'm injured. Don't mock me."
"You're right. I'm sorry," he muses. "Now come on. I really need you to open your eyes. You need to be alert so you don't fall off the back of my bike."
You groan. "Fine. But when I fall asleep at the hospital, you're not allowed to wake me up."
"Deal."
The steady beeping of a machine is what wakes you, your eyelids feeling too heavy to open. You try turning your head the other way, but the beeping continues and it makes you frown. You manage to flutter your eyelids open, blinking a few times until your vision focuses. The first person you see is Sweet Pea, the boy in question sitting in a chair with his head tilted back and mouth agape. You can hear faint snores coming from him and it makes you smile.
You turn your head the other way, smile blossoming at the two sleeping figures of Toni and Fangs.
"So Sleeping Beauty finally wakes." The gruff voice startles you and you have to pick your head up to see where it's coming from. Across the room from you, in a bed of his own, is a severely bruised Jughead who's eating a cup of green jello. "The bed remote is to your right if you wanna sit up."
You turn to your right, spotting the remote hanging from the bed railing and make a grab for it. Figuring out which button is which, you press the correct one to lift the upper half of your bed. You cringe as you do so, head throbbing suddenly. "How- how long was I out?"
"According to my dad, you've been out for three and half days. I woke up two days ago so I heard all about the craziness that went down the night I was brought in."
"Oh." You glance around, frowning. "Do, uh, do you know where my dad's at?"
"He's been in and out. The three stooges around you haven't given up their seats since you were put in here, so he said to call him when you woke up. I texted him while you were ogling Sweet Pea in his sleep."
"I wasn't-" You pause, sighing as Jughead chuckles. "Whatever." Glancing around again, you say, "What does a girl gotta do to get some food in here?"
As if on cue, the door bangs open and both you and Jughead flinch. Toni, Fangs, and Sweet Pea all startle awake. In walks your father, bags from Pop's in hand, and behind him FP walks in with two trays of drinks.
"You," Lucifer points out, "darling daughter, have a lot of explaining to do."
It's then your friends notice that you're up and awake, and you brace yourself as Toni and Fangs practically climb atop your bed.
"Will you be careful, you dumbasses!" Sweet Pea barks. "She just woke up."
"She just woke up," Fangs mocks him, earning a punch to the back.
You laugh, flinching when Toni's arm lays across your abdomen. Thankfully she notices and quickly readjusts her position, not moving from your side. Fangs, however, gets pulled from your other side and Sweet Pea carefully takes his spot. He maneuvers his arm so it's behind your and Toni's heads.
Glancing up at your dad, you accept the bag of food he holds out to you as he asks, "When exactly did your powers fully manifest? FP and Sweet Pea told me what they witnessed, and a sudden show of power like that is what kept you asleep so long. As well as the blood loss. You completely exhausted yourself."
You shift nervously under everyone's sudden gaze. "I, uh, it's all been slowly manifesting over the past couple of weeks. But then hearing about Jughead, it kind of sped up the process in one fell swoop and well.. FP and Pea saw how that ended."
Lucifer tuts. "You're lucky you didn't kill yourself. You know better than to use so much power while still untrained."
"I know," you mumble. You make quick work of digging into the bag that's resting in your lap, pulling out a burger and unwrapping it. You immediately take a bite, groaning as the taste explodes across your tongue. "Can you lecture me later? I feel like I can eat ten of these."
Your dad wrinkles his nose. "Your mortal side is showing. Swallow before you speak."
"That's what he said," Toni mumbles.
You choke on your food and Sweet Pea immediately starts hitting your back in a panic. Eventually your airway clears and you glare at Toni who's smiling innocently at you. "You're a bitch." She laughs, but then your attention is stolen by FP whose handing you a drink. You grin gratefully at him as you suck up some ice cold Cola through the straw. "I hope I didn't leave you a mess to deal with."
"You didn't." He smirks. "I put in an anonymous tip to sheriff Keller about some Ghoulies who'd looked like they overdosed. I also might have told him they were also the ones involved with Jughead's beating. They ain't getting out anytime soon."
"Good."
Everyone makes themselves comfortable around the shared room, FP sitting next to his son's bed while Lucifer sits next to yours, but Toni and Sweet Pea have you squished between them on the bed while Fangs sits in an empty chair.
You manage to eat three burgers, two cartons of fries, and siphon down three cups of Cola when you notice all eyes are on you. Immediately you can feel the flush burning up the sides of your neck and up to your face. Leaning back, you push the rest of the food away and curl in towards Sweet Pea as the room's occupants start to laugh.
"So are you gonna share those burgers or you gonna wolf down every single one?" Jughead muses.
"Don't mock me. You're lucky I even left anything." Fangs chuckles at your pout and gets up, grabbing up the bags from your lap. He takes a burger for himself before walking the food across the room, and you grin as Jughead immediately digs in. FP can only shake his head at his son as Jughead groans in delight. "So," you say as you glance at your dad, "what happens now?"
"Now you heal," Lucifer says. "However, when you're all better we need to take a trip to Hell." Sweet Pea tightens his hold around your shoulders and you quickly glance up at him, smiling softly to reassure him everything would be fine. "I'm just about done with business here on the mortal plane, so we need to transfer roles back down in Hell."
"Ugh. Do I have to stay for the party? Your creepy minions are gonna try to bed me again."
"Well if you'd show up with a consort on your arm you wouldn't have that problem."
You frown. "You know damn well if I show up with a mortal in Hell it'll be chaos."
"But what fun chaos it'll be," Lucifer smirks.
"Hold up," Toni says. "Consort?"
Your dad's smirk widens and you sigh. "For some reason, dad wants me to take a boyfriend. Or husband. He's not picky."
"What!?" She laughs.
"Yeah. He's got his money on Sweet Pea just because he's tall and intimidating." Sweet Pea suddenly chokes and everyone in the room laughs at him. You grin at him, poking him on his side. "Relax. There are no wedding bells in any of our immediate futures. And besides," you say as you let yourself relax into Sweet Pea's side once more, fatigue suddenly overcoming you, "the elite of Hell only approve of a wedding if it's officiated in Hell. And quite frankly, no one I choose will ever step foot down there if I have anything to say about it."
"Wait. Hold on," Jughead says. "Are you saying you can get us in and out of Hell, and you haven't done so?"
FP scoffs. "Don't even think about it, kid."
You grin at Jughead's affronted expression, letting your eyelids fall shut. "We are not taking field trips down to Hell. Now everyone shush. M'sleepy."
It took you a few days before your dad deemed you well enough to visit Hell, making sure you did not show any form of vulnerability in front of the others. So you rested at home during the day and spent your evenings entertaining your friends who wanted to know all about Hell and how long you'd be away. But the truth was, you didn't even know yourself.
So when you and your dad finally left for Hell, you hadn't anticipated just how long you'd be there. You did anticipate, however, several demons being happy over the transfer of power. And that several others would swoop in in hopes of courting you. All of which you happily declined.
Your dad's coronation lasted a full day and you lost track of time after the second day of partying. You caught up with what few companions you actually had in Hell, ate, drank, and danced. It felt like only a couple of days had passed before you decided you'd been there long enough and sought out your father, only for him to happily send you on your way with promises that you'd visit every month. You had waved him off before going back to your rooms to change into regular clothing, and then let a swirl of flames whisk you away.
Reappearing in your house, you glance around happily until you notice it's not quite as you left it. The lights and TV, which had been turned off prior to leaving, are now on and the more you linger in the same spot it's easier to hear the noises coming from the kitchen. Quietly heading in that direction, you stop short at the sight of FP and Jughead preparing what appears to be their dinner.
"Um, hi?"
Jughead and FP's attention immediately snap to you, and Jughead quickly rounds the kitchen island. "Y/N, you're back!"
"Of course I am." You laugh as he wraps his arms around you, returning his embrace as you grin at FP over Jug's shoulder. "I told you I'd be back as soon as possible."
Jughead pulls back from you, hands on your shoulders as he keeps you at arm's length. "I know, but we thought you meant like three days tops, not two weeks!"
"What?"
You look at FP and he nods. "Sorry, babygirl, but he's telling the truth."
Your mind briefly short circuits at the nickname and you glance at Jug, smile slowly blooming. "Your dad called me-"
"Don't."
You laugh as FP snorts, shaking his head at you. "Only joking. I haven't done that in two week apparently," you say. You reach up to pat one of Jughead's hands on your shoulders and he releases. Walking over to one of the stools lined along the kitchen island, you take a seat. "And besides, you know I have my eyes on a certain tall Serpent friend of yours."
"Speaking of which," FP then says as he leans across the counter across from you, "you better text him. He's been bugging us nonstop to see if we heard from you or not."
"I will." Jughead offers you a bottle of water which you accept. "I just- I need to decompress for a little bit. Socializing in Hell kind of took it out of me."
"Well you can always join us for dinner." Jughead looks so hopeful that you actually feel a little bit bad turning him down.
"Sorry, JJ. I've been eating nonstop for days. I kind of just want to sleep it off."
"Oh. Okay sure."
"But before I head upstairs, can I just ask what you guys are doing here?"
Jughead looks like a deer in headlights at the question, so FP takes over. "Lucifer wanted us to keep an eye on the place while you were gone. Said we could crash here if we needed to and our trailer went under renovations two days ago."
"Oh. Okay." You smile at them. "Well you guys are always welcome here no matter what and just because I'm back it doesn't mean you have to leave. I welcome the company," you say. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sleep my dad's coronation off."
"We'll keep your return under wraps, but if anyone stops by we won't lie to them."
"That's fine," you tell Jughead.
After drinking some more of your water, you decide to head upstairs. In the privacy of your room you decide to quickly change into some sleepwear before crawling into the comfort of your own bed.
Sleep finds you fairly quickly and you're not quite sure how long you've been asleep when you're suddenly awoken. The sky is completely pitch black outside your window and the house is eerily quiet. You figure it must be very early morning so it's no use getting up now, but just as your eyes close once more the sound of a chair creaking has your eyes flying open.
On your stomach, you immediately push yourself up until you're sitting on your knees and glancing around your room. "Hey. Hey, you're okay."
Your lamp clicks on and you cringe away from the sudden brightness, only to slowly open your eyes and be met with the concerned expression of possibly your favorite Serpent. "Pea?"
He grins. "The one and only."
"What are- what are you doing here?" You crawl towards the edge of the bed closest to him, sitting down so your feet touch the ground.
"Stopped by for some dinner earlier and Jughead told me you were back. FP took pity on me and let me stay until you woke up."
"So you- you watched me sleep?" Sweet Pea's smile slowly falls as yours grows. "That's kind of creepy, Pea."
"Well I didn't- I didn't know-"
You quickly lean forward, one hand gripping the armrest of the chair to hold you up and the other cradling the side of Sweet Pea's face as you angle it towards yours. You gently brush your lips against his just to test the waters before you pull back just an inch, your eyes fluttering open to gauge his reaction. Sweet Pea blinked owlishly at you before his eyes darted over every inch of your face, lastly settling on your lips as his hands came up to cradle your face and bring you back in.
Smiling against his lips, you allow him a moment of control, letting yourself get briefly carried away in one another. You nip at his bottom lip and when he groans you peck the corner of his mouth before falling back onto the edge of your bed. You lick your bottom lip before biting it sheepishly, eyes shining at a clearly distracted Sweet Pea.
"I'm not gonna lie. I've been wanting to do that for a really long time."
Gathering his wits once more, Sweet Pea scoffs. "You mean to tell me we could have been doing this since the beginning?"
"Well yeah. But I didn't wanna come off as easy."
"You.. easy? Yeah right," he chuckles. Slowly, he sobers up. "But, uh, your dad's not gonna be a problem. Right?"
You shake your head. "Nah. Believe it or not, Lucifer's a cool dad. He doesn't care what I do or who I do it with so long as it's consensual."
He seems to blanch just a little. "Of course. Always."
"Then we're good." You flash him a small smile as you scoot back into bed, tossing the blanket over your legs. "Now will you come to sleep rather than watching over me? I wasn't lying when I said it was weird." Sweet Pea readily stands to strip out of his jacket, laying it across the chair as he toes off his boots. When he starts to walk to the other side of your bed, you say, "Feel free to sleep sans jeans, but only if you're wearing underwear."
Sweet Pea smirks at you as he slowly unbuckles his belt, sliding it out of his jean's loops before tossing that on his jacket as well. You roll your eyes as he unbuttons his jeans and lets them fall, haphazardly kicking them aside before crawling into your bed.
"If that was an attempt to seduce me, you're really terrible at it." He laughs as he lays on his back, you grabbing his arm and picking it up so you can lay close to him. You're on your side, head on his shoulder and arm around his waist. "But you still get an A for effort."
"I wasn't even trying, sweetheart. If I was to seduce you, you'd know it."
"Mhm. I'm sure. Now close your eyes. I have a feeling everyone's gonna be here later on."
- - - - - - - - - -
"Do- do we wake them?"
"No, you idiot, let them sleep."
A sigh. "This is going to be a regular thing now, isn't it?"
You slowly smile, the voices of Fangs, Toni, and Jughead waking you up. "You're damn straight this is going to be a regular thing." Your eyes open and you grin. "I'm going to be climbing this like a tree every chance I get." The chest beneath your cheek rumbles with sleepy laughter. You yawn, stretching at Sweet Pea's side before slowly sitting up. "What time is it?"
"Almost ten," Jughead says. "Dad was going to wake you for breakfast, but he saw you and Sweet Pea and figured he'd let you sleep."
"FP is officially my second favorite Serpent," you say. With his eyes still closed, Sweet Pea smiles and you roll your eyes at his smugness. "I hope you guys have nothing planned. I just want to relax and go to school like a normal person for a few days. I'm all partied out."
"Whatever you want, girl." Toni tells you. "We're just glad you're finally back."
"You and me both."
Over the next few days, your group of friends grow used to the fact that you and Sweet Pea have officially become a thing. Neither of you are fond of the terms boyfriend/girlfriend since it sounds kind of juvenile, but you don't correct anyone when they use that particular label. As far as the two of you are concerned, you are his and he is yours, and that's enough for the two of you.
Another change that seems to have happened is at the Whyte Wyrm, your presence being a great deal more tolerated. You know no one other than a select few knew of your true heritage, so you figure one of your friends name dropped the pet name Princess and now the other Serpents boldly greet you as such, especially FP who takes great delight in calling you that once he realizes you find it annoying.
You're happy you don't have Queenly duties niggling at the back of your mind and that you can just be as normal as you can be with your friends. There are a few instances in which your powers come in handy, but you don't use them as often as you thought you would. Then as the days slowly progress and the weather turns chillier, you find that Sweet Pea is a constant presence in your home. His trailer had been updated, but while he's grateful for it he much prefers coming home to you and your house.
You and Sweet Pea are sleeping down in the basement, the lounging sofa being more comfortable for him to sleep in since he was so tall. You've already ordered a new bed, but for now the two of you happily camp down in the theatre while you wait for your bed to come in.
The doorbell ringing pulls you from your dreams and an arm tightens around your waist. Sleep starts to pull you back under seconds later until the doorbell rings again and you quietly groan.
"Don't answer it," Sweet Pea mumbles. "They'll go away."
You press back into his chest, yawning and willing yourself to fall back asleep. But whoever's at the front door is insistent and the doorbell rings for a third time. "I'm going to smite them," you grumble. "Smite them and then blissfully come back to sleep." Sweet Pea chuckles at your threat, but though you're getting annoyed for having had your sleep interrupted you don't actually do anything about it.
Seconds seem to pass and when the doorbell doesn't ring again you let your body start to relax once more. Sweet Pea curls even more against your back and you chuckle softly at the fact that one of the Serpent's most intimidating secretly loves to cuddle.
And then just as you're fully relaxing and being pulled back under, there are footsteps coming down the staircase. "I knew I'd find you guys down here."
You and Sweet Pea both groan, Jughead's amused laughter making you open your eyes and glare at the teen in question. Betty Cooper is standing just behind him, glancing around your home theatre in wonder, but you bite your tongue on questioning her presence since you know full well that she and Jughead were more stable than they've ever been.
"If you know what's best for you, JJ, you'd walk away."
"It's three in the afternoon, Y/N. You should have been awake hours ago."
"We had a late night."
"First off, ew." His nose wrinkles at you and Sweet Pea, and you, Sweet Pea, and Betty grin at Jughead's comment. "And secondly, dad sent me. We're having a meeting."
Sweet Pea seems to take those words seriously and you whine when he moves to get up. He chuckles, quickly kissing your temple and then turning to crawl out of the comfort of the sofa. You sigh. "And why, pray tell, is my presence needed?"
Jughead smirks. "You'll see."
His vague answer is enough to get you moving, you grumbling all the while. On your way upstairs, you hit Jughead with your shoulder and then smile innocently at Betty while telling her to help herself to whatever's in the kitchen while you and Sweet Pea get ready.
You and Sweet Pea take the quickest showers you've ever taken, separately, and meet Jughead and Betty in the kitchen. Sweet Pea is pulling on his jacket and you're tying your hair up into a ponytail, grinning at Jughead who has a plate of sandwiches in front of him. "So what's the deal, Jones?"
He shrugs. "M'just under orders to bring you to the quarry."
You glance at Betty and she chuckles. "I just came along for the ride. Jughead's actually dropping me off before you go to the meeting."
"I feel like I should be scared nervous, but I'm actually excited nervous." You muse. "I mean, daddy Jones-"
"God you're so gross," Jughead groans. You wink at Betty as Jughead turns to Sweet Pea. "How are you okay with your girl fawning over my dad?"
"Because everyone, including FP, knows it gets under your skin and it's fun to watch your squirm."
You look at Betty and grin. "Have I told you about the time FP called me babygirl?"
"And we're leaving!" Jughead is quick to latch onto his laughing girlfriend's wrist, tugging her out of the kitchen and towards the front door.
You turn towards Sweet Pea, wrapping your arms around his waist as you lean up on your tiptoes to play a chaste kiss to his lips. "I absolutely adore you. Now come on. Let's go see what the boss wants."
Sweet Pea pecks your lips twice more before you fall back flat on your feet, then making your way towards the hall closet. Inside, you pull free a jean jacket and quickly pull it on while Sweets grabs both your helmets. The two of you head outside to see Betty already hanging onto the back of Jughead. You and Sweet Pea readily climb onto his bike, you tucking yourself as close as you can to his back while he follows Jughead towards Betty's house.
Then once Betty's hopped off and heading towards her front door, Jughead signals for Sweet Pea to follow and you're on your way once more. The part of the quarry Jughead leads you to is not familiar to you and you're surprised to see the entire Serpent clan hanging around. And as you climb off the bike, waiting for Sweet Pea who takes your hand and then starts leading you towards your friends, you glance around to take in your surroundings.
A wooden walkway leads down to a boathouse just on the water, trucks and motorcycles parked all around. There are a couple of tapped kegs and barrels of fire scattered about. Between two wooden poles, a Serpent banner hangs just behind some stacked wooden pallets that FP hops up onto.
FP whistles, gaining everyone's attention. "Listen up now!" Some music that had been playing is lowered and everyone turns towards their leader. "I know some of you have recently had your opinions about the way I was running things with the Serpents." Some people boo and FP chuckles, instantly calming them. "Our image has never been as clean as it should have been and certain events led a few of us to make decisions that could have had repercussions against all of us." Some very brave individuals glance at Jughead and you glare at them until they look away. "But then an old friend of mine swooped in and changed everything." At this, some nervously glance at you.
"Some sixty years ago, the very first Serpent meeting took place on these same river banks. So I find it fitting that we meet here to introduce a new snake to the den." Everyone cheers this time, including you, though your amusement falls when FP meets your gaze head on. You freeze. Surely he's not talking about- "You all know about Penny, the Ghoulies, and Tall Boy attacking three of our own- my boy included. What you don't know is that girl," he points directly at you, "that girl right there is who took a knife to the gut avenging us. So Y/N Morningstar, come on up here."
Sweet Pea, Jughead, Toni, and Fangs start the whooping and hollering until the rest of the Serpents all join in. You're gripping tight to Sweet Pea's hand as he starts to drag you towards FP's platform, you nervously grinning at the Serpents who part down the middle to give you a path.
At the makeshift stage, Sweet Pea then nudges you up there and you chuckle nervously as you stand next to FP. He smiles at you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders to keep you close while addressing the crowd again. "The Morningstars, while some of you were against it at first, helped clean up the Serpent image and helped improve the Southside when even our own mayor had given up on us. They've been a tremendous help to us and it all started with an act of kindness from one of the Serpents which then led to my release. So with that said, Jughead will you come on up and do the honors?"
You look out at Jughead, brow furrowing as Toni smirks at you while handing a duffel bag over to the boy in question. He unzips it, pulling free what looks to be a cherry red leather jacket. He holds it, scrunched up in one hand, as he makes his way to the platform. "What's going on?" You mutter.
FP releases you just as Jughead takes his place by your side. He's smiling as he inhales deeply, letting out it loudly before addressing the rest of the Serpents. "When Lucifer left, he asked my dad and I to look after his precious little princess." You scoff, punching Jughead's arm much to everyone's amusement. "And I know some of you are going to say that that's why we've decided to welcome Y/N into the Serpents, but the reason why we're welcoming Y/N into the fold is because she earned her place. She took a knife for us and got rid of our enemies once and for all. I don't know about you, but to my dad and I that makes her worthy of being a Serpent."
Sweet Pea is the first to whoop, followed by the rest of your friends and the crowd of Serpents lingering about.
"So what do you say, Morningstar? Will you don the Serpent jacket and put the fear of the devil into any person who dares smear the name of your brethren?" He asks while grabbing the cherry red jacket with both hands and shaking it open.
You smirk at him, already stripping out of your jean jacket. "As if you even had to ask."
You toss your jacket to Sweet Pea and stand in front of Jughead, placing your arms into the sleeves one at a time. It fits perfectly, Toni's doing no doubt, and you laugh openly at the roar of applause. Turning around, you hug Jughead and then walk over towards FP to offer him the same embrace.
"Who picked the color?" You ask.
"Who do you think?" He muses.
"Dad."
FP releases you with a grin, nudging you towards your friends. "Go on. We'll be celebrating tonight at the Whyte Wyrm."
You offer him one of your genuine smiles instead of the teasing one you usually reserve for him. "Thanks, FP. For everything."
"No problem, kiddo. Now seriously, go. Go have a burger and a shake at Pop's with your friends."
As you turn to hop off the platform, Toni is the first to wrap you up in a hug. "Welcome to the club! You're seriously lucky you didn't have to do the dance."
"I'd have seriously gouged someone's eye out if anyone suggested I do the dance to earn my place."
She laughs and then Fangs takes her place, you hugging him back. Then finally Sweet Pea is standing in front of you and he laughs as you jump into his arms.
"Happy, princess?"
"Ecstatic," you muse as you wrap your legs around his waist. His hands find your ass, supporting your weight as you quickly lean in to kiss him. More cheers erupt all around you, you and Sweet Pea smile against each other's mouths, and Jughead gags behind you. Pulling back, you lay your forehead against his. "Wanna grab some food or go properly celebrate at home before tonight's party at the Wyrm?"
"How about we hit up Pop's for burgers to go, burn off some calories before consuming them right back in the comfort of our own home, and then go to the Wyrm?"
"I like the way you think, Pea. Let's go."
You kiss him once more, Toni cheering you on as Sweet Pea carries you off.
"Just please don't contaminate the basement!" Jughead yells out. "I actually like it down there!"
You wave him off over your shoulder, grinning at Pea. "Who's going to tell him he's a few weeks too late? Me or you?"
"I wanna tell him when he least expects it. Probably when he's laying on the sofa and being a little shit."
"Deal."

Fangs//i bet you're real sweet with her
Request: You my friend are the queeen 👑 of songfics. Any chance you would want to write a fic for the song Bitter by Fletcher? With any of my boys Malachai/Reggie/Fangs/Pea you can choose 😘
hey! brit! @wayward-river this is for you, my love! enjoy! also, this is the last request i have! i did it!! well done me!! requests will be open soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
The world may have moved on and evolved, but when you’re stuck in Riverdale, it feels like you’re still in the same unknown decade, no matter how long you stay for.
Four years after graduation, you’re still waiting tables at Pop’s, despite the rest of your friends moving on. The only people left behind is you, Toni, Sweet Pea and Fangs. But what was once known the four musketeers, now has a huge divide between them.
You still talk to Toni, but she talks more with Fangs. You and Fangs don’t talk to each other anymore due to a very messy ending of an almost six year relationship. Sweet Pea and Fangs only really talk to each other when they have to. Sweet Pea’s pissed because of what Fangs did to you, despite you telling him that you don’t want to be the reason they fall out, but he still sticks by your side. And Fangs is pissed at him for taking your side.
Toni and Sweet Pea are still close but not as much as they used to be. The only plus side is the fact that you and Sweet Pea are closer than before, but that comes at a cost, because he’s stuck in between the messiest breakup in Riverdale history, and there’s nothing he can really do except sit and listen to you complain.
Not that he minds though, as long as you keep giving him secret staff discount on his food, he’s fine listening to you mope about Fangs.
“I just-” You sigh, your head dropping to rest on the table. The clock ticks above you and you can feel some of the other waitresses glaring at you, as they will time to move quicker so they can have their own breaks. “Do you know when you’re on the outside of an inside joke? And everyone else knows it but you have no idea what they’re talking about and it makes you feel really lonely.”
“Lime.” He chuckles and you stare at him confused. “Sorry, you weren’t there.”
“That doesn’t help Sweet Pea.” You slump in the stool and stare out of the coffee machine.
In the reflection you see a group of teenagers sat at the far end of the diner and you’re taken back to when that used to be you. You and the rest of the serpents would sit for hours, just talking and eating. Now those days are far gone, the only time you would ever be in the same place as Fangs would be to fight him.
“Hey. Sorry to interrupt.” An older woman invades your thoughts and casts a shadow over you. You pull your gaze away from the shiny metal and stare up at her. “I really wanted Coke but you guys only seem to have Pepsi.”
“I’m on my break sorry.” You force a smile. The rehearsed customer service voice coming out naturally. “But I’m sure one of my colleagues would be more than happy to help.” You add and point to the various members of staff trying to look busy. You glare at the newest member, Emma, who has the coldest eyes and fakest smile you have ever seen. She’s been a pain in your ass since she got here, and she hasn’t stopped since. You’re just hoping the new girl starting today is going to be a lot nicer.
“Ughhh.” You groan and lean your head on the counter again. “I just remembered I’m training a new girl today.”
“I thought you’d just done that.”
“I have.” You grumble and look up at him. “But because I’m the most experienced member of staff, apparently it’s also my job to make sure they don’t put tea in the coffee machine and to keep the condiments separate.” You add and fiddle with the salt packet lying in front of you.
“Well, I’m gonna be here for a little bit longer. I don’t start till three, so I can keep you company.”
“Thanks.” You smile. “Where are you going today?”
“Just to Greendale and back.”
“Come round when you finish...we can drink what will be left of the night away.”
“Deal.” He smiles and grabs your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. Sweet Pea’s phone lights up beside you and you peer over his arm to see who it is.
“Don’t bother.” You say when he reaches for it. “It’s just your mom.” You add when he looks at you confused and his face soon falls.
“Oh.” He grumbles. “I told her to leave me alone.”
“I’m sure she’ll get the message soon.” You try your best to sound convincing. But you’ve been repeating that sentence for seven years and she still doesn’t seem to get it. No matter how many times Sweet Pea tells her that he’s better off without her.
For a while you thought it had worked. Nobody had heard from her in almost 6 months, but then she popped back up and ruined the progress that Sweet Pea had been making of having a stable life.
“And if not. I’ll make sure she does.” You add making him snort a laugh. A soft smile twitches at your own lips as you watch him laugh and then shove a few fries in his mouth. Your hand reaches out to steal some but he catches it and shoves you away making you pout. “Hey! Technically I paid for those. The least you can do is share.”
“What?” He asks through a mouthful of food and you pull a face. “I can’t hear you over the chewing.” He adds and shoves the rest of them in his mouth.
“You’re disgusting.” You shake you head making him laugh loudly. For a good minute, everything feels normal. It feels like you’re just sat with your friend and praying for time to slow down so you don’t have to go back to work.
But eventually time does catch up with you, and as soon as the clock strikes quarter past you have to haul yourself back up, grab your rag and get on. The song on the jukebox flips and you’re suddenly hit with a wave of nostalgia.
The opening notes float through the air, and all of sudden you can see you and Fangs dancing right in front of you.
3am in December during a snowstorm. The worst Riverdale had seen for years and the two of you were hiding in the warmth of Pop’s until it went away. You were the only ones in and so Fangs decided to make the most out of the empty diner, and the two of you danced stupidity around the entire place, much to the amusement of the very bored and very tired workers.
Tears spring to your eyes and you let out a shaky breath before fiddling with your fingers.
“Y/n?” Sweet Pea asks. “You okay?” You nod and Sweet Pea stares back at you. Your shiny eyes and wobbly lip really doesn’t help your case of ‘i’m over it!’, but for now he decides to leave it. In the three months since you broke up, you’ve already cried more times than he can count, and that’s just at work. He doesn’t want to see you cry again. If he had his way, you’d never cry again. Not ever.
“I’m fine. I know you think I’m stupid but it’s just how I feel.” You shrug and his expression softens. He grabs your hand, stopping you from walking away and you look at your intwined fingers.
“I have never once thought you were stupid.” He says seriously and you swallow thickly. “Well, apart from the time I dared you to steal FP’s bike and you actually did it.” He adds, the atmosphere being too serious for the two of you.
“I never got caught though.” You point your pen at him, a smile curling the corners of your lips and Sweet Pea smiles back at you.
“It was still stupid.” He replies and you roll your eyes.
“Hey, Pea?” You ask. “Do you know if Fangs is with anybody. I just, I can’t shake the feeling that somebody else is in my shoes right now. You know, doing all of the stuff we used to do.”
“I don’t think so.” He shrugs and you nod slowly.
“Good.” You nod and hold your head higher. “I’m the best he’s ever going to have anyway.” You add making him chuckle.
“Very true.” He laughs. “Y/n? Do you think you might be-I dunno, maybe just a bit bi-”
“I’m not bitter.” You defend and he sends you a look.
“Sure you’re not.” He sips his coffee. “You are dressed in yellow though. And what fruit is yellow?”
“A le-”
“A lemon!” He interrupts, a stupid grin taking over his expression as waits for you to answer.
“Okay.” You nod and grab your notepad from the table. “I’m walking away now. There you go Emma, you can sneak out the back to text a man that is definitely not your husband.
“Oh, hi.” Someone taps your shoulder as you’re walking away making you quickly spin around. The girls almost walks into you and a string of apologies fall from her mouth as she quickly looks around to make sure no one saw.
Her brown hair stops at her waist and curls a little bit near the end. Her bright blue eyes sparkle under the florescent lighting, and her pink lips curl into a nervous smile as she looks around. You glance at Sweet Pea and roll your eyes when you see him not so subtly checking her out.
“Can I help?” You ask and she quickly looks back at you, a bright red blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Yes. Hi, sorry. I’m Olivia. I start today.” She says and sticks her hand out in front of you. You shake it and send a glare to Sweet Pea who is still checking her out and he rolls his eyes at you before scrolling through his phone.
“Lovely to meet you Olivia.” You smile. “Follow me and I’ll show you the ropes.”
“I would so not mind seeing either of you with ropes.” Sweet Pea mumbles and you grit your teeth.
“Would you excuse me for just a second?” She nods, eyes wide as she watches you slap Sweet Pea over the head with the rag. He jumps and yelps from the sudden attack before rubbing his head and scowling at you. “Okay, where were we?” You ask, a smile returning to her lips as she just stares at you in disbelief. “It’s fine. We’re friends.” You shrug and walk her to the counter.
“It doesn’t make it okay!” Sweet Pea shouts.
“Do you want your bill yet...your full one?” You add and he slumps back in his seat, his arms crossed in defeat.
“Okay, so do you have any waitressing experience?”
“Yes!” She smiles. “I used to work in a diner like this one back in New York.” She says and your eyes widen at the mention of New York.
“Oh, so you’re an out of towner?” You ask while showing her around. “This is the kitchen. Basically you get an order, you clip it on there and then the food will come through here. The only time we ever really need to go into the kitchen is if there is a mistake or it’s your turn to put the bins out. There’s a rota in the office but I’ll show you that later.”
“Got it.” She nods. “Yeah. I moved here a few months ago. I’ve been trying to find a job since I moved but there’s only so much you can do in a small town.” She explains and you nod knowingly.
“Why would you ever leave New York for Riverdale. Did you get lost or something?” You tease and she rolls her eyes playfully.
“No.” She shakes her head. “I came here just as a little break to get away from the city, and then I met a guy and I haven’t been back.” She says and your eyes widen.
“You stayed for a boy?” You ask in disbelief and she nods, with an embarrassed smile. “Wow.” You add. “This is the main eating area as you can see. We all have our sections, again, the rota, but you’ll be paired with me for today so you won’t need to know where you are until your next shift. And be warned, if you see him-” You point at Sweet Pea and he waves in return. “Ignore everything he says.” You finish and his face falls.
“I’m gonna stop keeping you company if you’re not careful.” He huffs and you roll your eyes.
“How else are you going to spend your free time if not here?” He shrugs and spins around the chair. When you had more friends, you used to need a booth to fit all of you in and even then you had to steal chairs from other tables. Now Sweet Pea just sits on the stools by the till so he can chat to you.
Sometimes when it’s late and you’re nearing the end of a long shift, you’re sure you can see the ghosts of past versions of yourselves sat in the corner booth. Their laugher filling the air and reminding you of a happier time.
“You guys are a cute couple.” Olivia coos and you and Sweet Pea stare at each other in disgust.
“We are not a couple.” You say quickly and distance yourself away from him.
“You would be lucky to be called my girlfriend.” He says and making you laugh.
“Yeah, I’m really missing out.” You reply. “We’re not a couple.” You repeat, looking at Olivia this time and she nods while trying to suppress a smile.
“Got it. Not a couple.”
“Anyway, tell us about this man that seemingly turned your world upside down.”
“He’s amazing!” She starts and you suddenly start to regret asking. This is definitely not going to help the ever growing feeling that you’re going to be alone forever. “He recently got a new job as a truck driver. At the minute he’s just doing to make some money, but it’s not what he wants to do. And he got a new little flat with his friend and it’s great. He’s an amazing cook...like the best. And he’s so handsome. Sometimes I look at him and I seriously wonder if he was crafted by God himself. He is that good, he has made me believe in God.”
“...wow.” You choke a little.
“Yeah...wow.” Sweet Pea adds and the two of you share an impressed look. She chuckles shyly and tucks a piece of hair behind her ear.
“He sounds sweet.” You smile and a blush creeps up her neck as she fiddles with her apron. “Who is he? Maybe I know him.”
“Fangs. Fangs Fogarty.” She replies and your jaw drops. The cup in your hand wobbles and you scramble to catch it before it smashes on the floor. Olivia quickly moves forward to help you, but you stand up before she has the chance and she’s left awkwardly standing just a bit too close to you.
Sweet Pea coughs and coffee dribbles down his chin, making both of you look at him and he forces a smile until Olivia is called away. You and Sweet Pea stare at each other for a few seconds, your eyes wide and jaws slack and then you both start an incoherent flow of words as you try and figure out what the hell is going on.
“I thought you said Fangs wasn’t seeing anyone!” You start and slap him over the head with your rag again. He ducks and catches it, but his face crinkles when he comes in to contact with the soggy fabric and he quickly drops it.
“He said he wasn’t!” He argues. “I asked him the other day if he was seeing anyone and he said no. It’s not my fault he lied.” He adds and you huff at him, crossing your arms while staring at the door.
From your peripheral, you watch him roll his eyes and sigh before mumbling a quiet sorry.
“It’s fine.” You sigh. “It’s not your fault.” The two of you watch her make her wander around the restaurant and talking to a few of the other servers, the smile never leaving her lips and a scowl slowly makes its way onto your own. “If I were her I would start packing my bags already because we all know Fangs does not do commitment. It doesn’t matter if its two months or six years, one day he will just up and leave, turning your whole life upside down because he’s a selfish di-”
“Okayyyy.” He says and grabs your arm pulling you over the counter. “Y/n, listen to me.” He grabs your cheeks. “You have got to pull yourself together. One. you are much hotter than her. Seriously, I only checked her out once and that was when she first got here. But I check you out literally every time you walk into a room.”
“Than-”
“Two. Now that it’s official that Fangs has moved on, it means that you can too and you don’t look like the bad person because he did it first. So Friday night, you’re going to get dressed up and then we’re gonna go to Greendale and go to that club, Brightstars and then you’re gonna get bu-”
“You don’t need to finish that sentence.” You reply and he nods proudly before letting go. You drop back onto the floor and smooth your uniform out.
It’s fine, you got this. You can be the bigger person and you can put any petty differences aside for an easy working environment. Fangs has already ruined enough of your life, he doesn’t need to ruin this to.
Apparently he does though, because not two seconds after you’ve had that life-altering thought, does he walk through the doors of Pop’s. The bell rings to announce his presence and everyone turns to look at him.
Sweet Pea buries his head in a menu, despite having already eaten. You frantically look around the place to try and find somewhere to hide, but instead you just watch as Olivia’s face lights up as she greets her boyfriend. The two of them kiss, his hands grip her waist and there is far too much tongue involved to be doing it in public.
Before you can stop yourself, a disgusted expression has already settled on your face and when Olivia turns around to introduce you to him, you try your best to smile through it.
“Do you guys know each other?” She asks while leading him over to the counter. Sweet Pea shuffles further away and grabs another menu to cover his face. You mumble a few curse words at him and vow than the next break you’re not just going to hit him with the rag, you’re going to choke him with it before you muster the politest smile you possibly can.
“Yeah. We went to school together!” You say before Fangs can say anything. He looks at you surprised and you narrow your eyes at him before looking back at Olivia. “We all did. Didn’t we Pea.” You add and snatch the menu’s from him.
He sits up straighter, forcing an awkward smile before nodding slowly.
“Yeah, we-er. We used to hang out.” He adds and Olivia looks at Fangs surprised.
“You never mentioned a Y/n and a-”
“Sweet Pea.” He says and you grab the empty plate and glass from in front of him.
“Wait, is it because they’re friends with that crazy ex you told me about?” She wonders and you freeze. You raise an eyebrow at him and he gulps. “Fangs used to date this girl and they were together for a really long time, but then he broke up with her because well, I guess he just wanted other things. She was crying and begging him to stay and it was a whole mess. Funny story we met when he was throwing away all her old furniture. I asked him what the smoke was about and he told me he was just burning some bad memories.” She laughs and the glass breaks under your grip. The noise causes you all to jump and suddenly it’s all too much.
Tears spring to your eyes and you quickly dump the apron on the counter.
“I’m gonna go clean this, can you cover for me Pea?” You ask and he stands, his face full of concern as he watches you disappear out the back.
Olivia grabs a dustpan and brush and starts cleaning up while Fangs just stares at the floor. Guilt burrows further into his chest as he stares at the broken glass and his new girlfriend cleaning it up.
“I didn’t mean to upset her.” She says. “Where they friends or something?” She asks and Sweet Pea shrugs.
“Yeah, something like that.” He sends Fangs a glare.
“I’ll go see if she’s okay.” He says suddenly and Sweet Pea’s glare only worsens.
“Do you really think that’s a good idea?” He asks.
“Nope.” He takes a deep breath before following you through the kitchen and into the office. The door swings open and you sigh, too busy trying to pick glass from your hand to look up at it.
“I’m fine Sweet Pea. Could you just pass me the first aid box?”
“Here.” Fangs says and you quickly look up, your eyes widen at the dark haired boy standing in front of you. They soon darken once you snatch the box from him and place it on the desk.
“What do you want Fangs?”
“I’m sorry.” He kneels in front of you, forcing you to look at him. The already small office feels suddenly a lot smaller once you look into his eyes and suddenly you feel like you can’t breathe.
“For what? For breaking my heart, betraying my trust or for telling your new girlfriend, which you found after just a month, that I’m somehow the bad guy in this story?”
“Ye-”
“You know what Fangs.” You stand and slam the box on the table. “I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear about you or your new life or how sorry you are. I don’t give a fuck.” You shout and back him into a corner.
His eyes drop to your lips and your breath hitches under his stare. Was he really thinking about kissing you after everything? But even worse, were you really thinking about letting him? His hands grip your hips, pulling you even closer to him and your lips ghost over his own.
“Do you think about me when you kiss her?” You whisper in his ear and he nods slowly. “Do you think she can taste me when you kiss her?” You add and his eyes flutter closed. The grip on your hips tighten and he leans in, but the door swings open and he quickly jumps away from you.
“Sorry to interrupt.” Olivia apologises awkwardly. “Are you guys okay?”
“Just arguing.” You reply and force a smile. “We’re good now though aren’t we Fangs?”
“Yeah.” He nods. “Just fine.”
“Come on Olivia. Tell your boyfriend to get out because we have work to do.” You say and smile at the two of them. They share a look and a short kiss before Fangs disappears back through the kitchen.
You follow closely and watch from the kitchen door as he looks back one last time before leaving. Olivia forces a tight lipped smile at you before busying herself with cleaning some of the booths down.
“Sweet Pea?” You ask and he hums in reply. “You’re right...I am bitter.”

What About You? What About Me?
Pairing: Zelda Spellman x Reader, Other Character x Reader.
Warnings: Does unrequited love count? Cause that shit hurts.
Co-Writer/Editor: @empatheticroses
A/N: This took a long while mainly because my friend and I had classes up our asses.
You had been pining after her for years. Two, to be exact, but it felt like an eternity with how your attempts to let her know had been disregarded. Specifically, when you would do little things to help her work as the Unholy Choir’s director—bringing her cups of crisp cold water, sometimes cups of hot tea when she had a sore throat. When you would visit the Spellman residence, just to see more of her and to say ‘hi’ to the family, you would help her tidy up, make her drinks, tiny snacks; even helping to clean up after dinner. Your help didn’t go unnoticed by the other residence members, who thanked you with either a hug, specifically a Hilda hug, those were the best or a kind tone of voice.
Whenever Zelda did notice, she would nod and gently pat you on the head. Saying a quiet ‘thank you.’ Perhaps you were petty for wanting more gratitude from the redhead.
Months go by, Zelda was with Marie now, and for a while, you thought you could handle it; and you did for the most part. You were holding it well, all the way up till Hilda and Cee’s wedding reception. After Sabrina had saved the coven from “The Uninvited,” the evening’s festivities continued. Sipping on wine, you innocently looked over, you saw Zelda and Marie kiss, after that, it was over, you had to leave. Tears in your eyes and walking, you accidentally bumped into Hilda. “Darling, what’s wrong?” The blonde asked, her hand gently grasping your forearm. You shook your head, “No, I am fine; I don’t want to ruin your night. I just have to go.” You said, not without looking away at Zelda one last time. Hilda looked at you after you turned your head to her; an understanding look from the blonde was all you needed from her before you left.
Everyone had noticed how you craved the attention and acceptance from the redhead, even her sister. When it came to it, Hilda was your shoulder to lean on when Zelda was seemingly prospering, and you were shriveling, dejection, and hurt filling your soul. When Zelda had married Faustus, you tried your best to support her. Being her friend, you felt you needed it; however, Hilda told you that feeling the way you were, betrayed and hurt, was perfectly fine.
When Zelda had come back from her Honeymoon under the effects of the Caligari Spell, you tried your best to reach her, yet she pushed you away, saying she had always been that way. When she had the spell broken, you were right by her side, placing a hot cup of tea in front of her. You had pushed yourself to dig your happiness’ grave just to please her, your mental and emotional health pushed to the side to prioritize her’s. To say that you were breaking was an understatement. You were already far gone, broken, yet you chose to stay, pampering Zelda as she walked off with another. Hilda held you as you sobbed that night, wailing at the heartbreak that consumed you once more.
Your legs push you to the main foyer of Dorian’s, a quiet ‘lanuae magicae’ leaving your lips as you walk. Your surroundings turn from those of the nightclub to your bedroom; quickly, you move to gather your things, using your magic to finish quicker. Your suitcase, full of your clothes, was ready to be put in your car. Any type of electronic you own is packed separately and carefully. Your bed is stripped of its dark grey sheets and comforter, packed in another suitcase. You were doing it. You were leaving. Finally, after years of pining after Zelda, pampering her every need and want, and your suffering, you were putting yourself first. You decided then and there; you would never let yourself get hurt just to please someone ever again, mainly when they chose not to acknowledge you and your attempts to please them.
Changing your clothes, you place your dress in the suitcase with your clothes, zipping it up and teleporting it to the trunk of your car, your other bags following as well. By now, your trunk and backseat were bound to be full, perhaps even your passenger seat. Walking downstairs, you grab your spare money jar. It was meant for paying bills, but you wouldn’t need to pay them for a while, not until you settled down somewhere else.
Ten thousand dollars in cash, you had ten thousand dollars. That itself was more than enough combined with your current amount in the bank.
With a small sigh, you turn off all the lights with a wave of your hand, and staring back into the darkness of your living room, you shut the door and leave. Your first stop was the Spellman residence. No one would be home, so it was perfect for you to get in, get out, and leave a note for Hilda. An apology. You apologized for so many things in the letter you had no clue what it was about anymore, just an apology, you supposed.
Admitting it hadn’t been hard, but you would miss your chaotic adoptive niece, always causing something to happen in Greendale. Ambrose, still having to help her fix the mistakes. Your little, yet highly elder, nephew. His small spouts of wisdom from all his years of living. Hilda and her kind heart, her ability to calm you down just by existing. And Zelda, there was so much to miss about her, the snooty remarks, the ways she’d reel you in hook, line, and sinker. She was leaving you deft and dim, leaving you to crack and pour.
The letter was addressed to Hilda, and you had hoped that she wouldn’t tell Zelda with the begging inside the note. You hoped she would tell Ambrose and Sabrina and tell them not to let Zelda know. You were moving on. That was that.
What you hadn’t expected when you left and arrived in Scarsdale, a small quaint town outside of Greendale, was to meet a woman. A beautiful, kind, and acknowledging woman. When you had bumped into each other, her coffee spilling all over her, you repeatedly apologized, saying you’d buy her another coffee and pay for her dirty clothes to be cleaned. She nodded and let you guide her to the coffee shop, buying her a replacement drink and a pastry. And then, she asked you on a date. Her name was Edalyn, Eda for short. She was in her thirties, much younger than Zelda, and very foxy. She had bright ginger hair, wild like a lion's mane, yet well kept. Her eyes were very light brown, and in the sun, they were golden.
Eventually, one date turned into two and two into three. Soon enough, five months of seeing each other passed, and you decide to move in together. Eda herself turned out to be a witch.
Yes, it did remind you of Zelda, but you had Eda now. You didn’t need Zelda, and you didn’t crave her affections anymore. You desired Eda’s, and she gave it freely. Whenever you would bring her little snacks or drinks, she would kiss your cheek, take your hand and say ‘Thank you.’
When you would bring her lunch for work- dinner if she stayed later than usual- she would pull you into her lap and nuzzle into your neck, mumbling tiny ‘Thank you’s. Fixing her a bath before bed rewarded you with kisses all over your face, tiny ‘I love you’s leaving her throat. Even if you didn’t do anything for her, she would kiss you, whether it was on your cheek, neck, lips.
This is the affection you always deserved. You reminded yourself.
Eda fixed you, and she said that you set her as well.
This is the affection you deserve.
At night you would cuddle into her arms and fall asleep to the sound of her heartbeat, her chin resting on the top of your head.
You deserve to heal.
Some days, Hilda would apparate to you, checking in on you. She would kiss your cheek and hug you, telling you that when she finished apparating, she would teleport a basket of pastries to you. She would ask you how you were doing if you had met anyone. You told her you had. You told her how happy Eda made you, how well she treated you. Hilda would smile and place her hands on top of yours, “You deserve every bit of affection she gives to you! So long as you return it!” And you did, you told her. Every time Eda would be affectionate, you would be affectionate back. A smile would cross her face, and she would tear up, “May I say something?” You’d nod. “Zelda is… she’s going nuts dear. She hasn’t heard from you, and she thinks you're just ignoring her. Just be careful alright? You know Zelda, she always does something bizarre when she needs an answer.” You had nodded and Hilda frowned slightly, “I have to go now. Sabrina and Ambrose miss you dearly; we all do. And don’t worry, we haven’t told Zelda what happened.” A small ‘thank you’ left your lips, and you smiled at Hilda. “Bring Sabrina next time, okay? Maybe Ambrose if possible.” She would nod, and then, she would be gone.
The next time she visited you, Sabrina was with her, and Eda was home. Hilda approved of Eda quickly and telling you she, as Sabrina would be right back, they disappeared and reappeared, this time there. Hilda’s warm arms welcomed you, and you teared up as you laid your head against her shoulder. Sabrina moved to wrap her arms around you, and she nuzzled into your shoulder.
Tears freely flowed down her face, her brown eyes almost shining. “I missed you, Auntie (Y/N).” A shaky, “I missed you too, kid,” escaped your lips, and you kissed her forehead. You turned your head to look at Eda. “Eda, this is Sabrina and Hilda, Hilda, Sabrina, meet Eda.” Hilda had moved to hug her immediately, thanking her for taking care of you. Sabrina shook her head gently, little chuckles escaping her mouth. After Hilda had finished her ‘thank you’s, she had set out to your kitchen, with yours and Eda’s permission, to cook some dinner.
Sabrina gently put her hand out, “It’s nice to meet you. Auntie (Y/N) talks about you to Aunt Hilda all the time!” Eda chuckled, moving her hand to grips Sabrina’s, “And have I made a good impression?”
“The best.” Sabrina glanced at you. Your hands were busy making the broth for the soup. “Anyone who makes my Aunts happy has my full approval.” A smile graced Eda’s face, and she looked at you. “I make her that happy?” Sabrina Nodded. “Yeah, My other Aunt, Zelda- the one (Y/N) is in hiding from- held (Y/N)’s affection for a long time. One day she had enough and left, finally choosing her happiness and mental health over someone’s Auntie’s. My Aunt Zelda was foolish not to realize what was in front of her all this time, but it’s too late. (Y/N)’s moved on, she’s happy now, and I can’t thank you enough for helping her fix herself, Ms. Eda.”
“Thanks, Sabrina; I’m glad I make her that happy.” Sabrina nodded and walked off to the kitchen, leaving Eda to her thoughts. She never knew how happy she made you and the fact that she knew now? She wanted to give you the best life possible, so she promised herself she would.
Eda’s eyes glanced to look at you as you worked beside Hilda. A smile was plastered on your face, and Eda couldn’t help but smile as well. She walked over behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist and kissing your cheek. She was whipped for you, no doubt.
Another thing you hadn’t expected, after being told that Zelda had no clue you had indeed left, was for her to turn up on your doorstep. She looked paler than usual, her hair was the slightest bit frazzled, and her makeup was much more minimal than usual.
“Thank Hecate. I’ve finally found you.” Blinking rapidly, you open your mouth to speak, “How the hell? How did you find me? Who told you where I was?” Shaking her head, she steps past you into the living room. “No one, but that fact that others knew and I didn’t hurt. Let me guess, and you told Hilda, Sabrina, and Ambrose to hide it from me that you left? Am I right?” A small nod is all you can muster up, eyes glancing up into hers. “Well then, it’s time for you to come home. I’ve realized I made many mistakes when it came to you. You’ve been by my side through everything, and I want you as mine.”
You raise your brows in shock. Is she serious?
“You’re- You’re joking, right?” You say quietly, fists clenched at your side. “No, I’m not. I realized that I’ve been horrible to you. I didn’t even consider your feelings or your mental health; I’m sorry (Y/N).”
A raspy voice calls out to you, “(Y/N), what’s going on, babe?”
Eda!
She rounds the corner and moves to you but stops as she lands her eyes on the redhead. “Who is this?” Closing your eyes tightly, you gently take Eda’s hand. “This is Zelda, Eda. Zelda, this is Eda, my girlfriend.” Zelda’s eyes widen, her hands raise slightly, but she puts them back at her sides. “So you’ve… you’ve taken a lover.” You nod, hand tightening on Eda’s. “Yes, I have.”
A growl escapes Eda’s lips, and she glares at Zelda, “What the hell are you doing here? After everything you’ve done to her, you have some nerve.” Zelda throws her hands up, stepping back slightly, “Trust me, I have no harmful intentions; I just wish to talk to (Y/N).” You place your hand on Eda's shoulder, shaking your head when she looks at you. Now wasn’t the time for Eda to lash out. Truthfully, Eda always had a temper, letting her anger sometimes get the best of her. She was never abusive in any way, instead she tended just to cry or punch a pillow. Her rage was never brought out on you.
“What do you want, Zelda? Why’d you come looking for me?” Zelda gently grabs your hand and moves with you to sit down on the couch. “As I said earlier, I’ve realized how I’ve made you feel. Forgotten, unloved, disregarded: like you don’t matter, but you do, I promise. It took me a while to realize that I’m sorry (Y/N). Please, come back with me, give me another chance, and I promise I will make it up to you. I miss you, darling” A scoff leaves your throat, anger slowly taking over your calm mood.
“You’re joking, right? You’ve got to be. Zelda, why do you think I left? I left because you pushed me to the side and treated me like I didn’t matter. You don’t get to make me feel like shit; you don’t get to parade around my house and throw a pity party for yourself. You had every chance to miss me before, miss me when I was at the wedding, miss me when I left early, but you chose to miss me when I moved to Scarsdale and finally found someone that cherished me! Someone that showed me the love and affection I deserved when you wouldn’t do any of that! You have no right to claim that you’re upset when you didn’t notice how much I craved your attention; how much I cried over you! When you married Faustus, when you fell in love with Marie, Hilda held me while I cried because I felt like you didn’t love me. Hilda held me every time I was hurting because of you- and I chose to stay because even though I was in so much emotional pain, I cared about you more than I cared about myself!” Tears come to Zelda’s eyes; her hands clench against her chest.
“So if anything, fuck you, Zelda Spellman, fuck you for thinking you get to march into my life and confess your love. Go back to Marie; maybe she’ll kiss your ass and make love to you.”
Small sobs fall from Zelda’s lips, her form starts to shake, and she wraps her arms around herself. Your eyes widen, and you glance at Eda. “Marie is gone (Y/N).” You look at the broken ginger before you, sighing, “I’m sorry, but this allows you to grow yourself.” You say, looking at her with compassion despite the storm of anger raging inside you. Zelda looks at you and nods timidly, “I...I will let myself out. I hope you have a good life here, thrive the way you deserve, darling.” Zelda says before walking towards the door, and then she leaves. Eda’s hands gently land on your shoulder and you move your hand on top of hers, “It’s over (Y/N), you don’t have to worry about her hurting you like that anymore.” A nod is all you can muster and you turn around, placing your head against Eda’s chest. Small sobs leave your throat, hands gently holding Eda close by her waist. That was it; you had finally put your foot down, finalizing the burned bridges between you and Zelda- and as much as it hurt, you felt better than before.
