Exiled States the Obvious Pt. 1
Warning: May contain spoilers, may not be 100% accurate, sick ramblings, may break your heart upon debunking common theories
Some canon notes I've noticed and analyzed, this will be placed here not just for safekeeping but for other writers to be known of them too :DD
From Venti's story I; it is said that as a loophole to being refused to be served alcohol because of his appearance, he 'drinks on the job', performing while drinking alcohol the audience gives him instead of Mora (his own suggestion)
Story IV offers some interesting details from Venti's story quest: First, Decarabian truly loved his people and believed that he had done good for them. Second is that Venti was supposed to gift his friend an eagle's feather but wasn't able to do so because he died.
Venti knows how to forge Rex Lapis' signature. Venti knows how to FORGE REX LAPIS' SIGNATURE.
It confuses me how Venti and Diluc doesn't have some kind of estranged relationship knowing how aristocracy/monarchy damaged freedom in Mondstadt.
Venti has been to Celestia and it apparently fucking sucks. That or Venessa told him about it, but it still SUCKS.
The Anemo Archon can and will strip you just to protect his identity/secrets/past. Ask Mona.
Albedo and Klee in his trailer, we can consider this canon: Babysitting Klee includes fucking battles. Best big brother.
The way Venti talks about Albedo speaks of [How Earth is a thing in Space] [Creation of Human Life through Earth] which are direct points to God's (biblical) creation of the universe and humans. With the dialogue, Venti recognizes Albedo has Godly powers that can create such miracles, take this line with a pinch of salt tho.
A connection: The real reason Zhongli does not carry nor care about prices is because of his trailer, THE FUNERAL PARLOR LITERALLY CARRIES ALL HIS EXPENSES
Hu Tao's existence proves that Xiao has a sense of humor and it is MORE THAN LIKELY that the adepti knows and can casually smile or laugh.
This piece of work exists: "Sigils of Permission were once created by Rex Lapis and infused with adeptal power. During the Archon War, such talismans were used by mortals to channel divine power. Now, most of its power has worn off, but adepti will still refrain from harming its holder."
Xiao is actually less hostile/asshole-y in the Chinese version than the English one and should be taken as canon since, well, Mihoyo is a Chinese company. Lots of dialogues or voiceline connotations are lost in translation.
Zhongli's retirement scenario does NOT mean that the adepti will not be needed or will also retire (looking at you Keqing) because as proven by the fight, the adepti are still in need of protecting mankind.
The Qixing and Adepti all know he is not dead, stating he gave hints that he hasn't really died to them.
A huge possibility that Zhongli recites this line whenever he finishes or fulfills a contract: "The contract is fulfilled. That which thou seeketh is now bestowed unto thee, for my promise is solid as stone."
If his words from the cool trailer is to be taken into heart, then Zhongli had long since cared for and protected humans, during the archon war.
Zhongli is not a MORTAL FUNERAL man, he is an ADEPTI FUNERAL man.
This broke God has the AUDACITY to go to operas, and not just any operas no no, "operas by the most celebrated performers."
He does not know shit about poverty because he doesn't know what it's like to be poor. He doesn't need to eat.
Besides the usual, he has more titles, some which are pretty funny: God of History, God of Stove. Liyueans(?) call him Rex Lapis, outside of his nation everyone calls him Morax. And in operas and children, he's more known as the War God.
Zhongli is very likely to cause divine intervention or sightings because a lot of stories and tales in Liyue about him are actually first-hand experience of accounts seeing the God himself.
Wrath of the Rock does not only mean Zhongli smacking asses with a laddle: Qixing of Liyue are officially responsible of punishing contract breakers.
Ningguang's role holds the big bad book of laws, with a whooping page count of 279.
This infomation is mostly for me to clarify Rex Lapis standing in the Seven: He is the first to ascend into Archon-hood, the one out of two remaining of the original Seven (Barbatos is second longest) and that besides him and Venti, the original Seven would also gather for wine in Liyue until they all left Archon-hood.
Zhongli really fuckin did a pest termination arc.
I repeat, ZHONGLI DOES NOT HATE SEAFOOD. To clarify, he hates TENTACLED seafood/cuisines. He can eat seafood tofu, happily.
It's so funny how the concept of "equivalent exchange" exists and is exercised in contracts, but not in a more dangerous aspect such as a l c h e m y.
The reason Jean is working as an Acting Grand Master is because the actual Grand Master is out on an expedition.
It is not normal for the Harbingers to be like Childe.
While battles and sparring is one of Childe's most usual traits, a lot of his character lines point to the fact that he's not outright looking for beating people up 24/7 and that his thirst can also be quenched by thrill or excitement.
General ones:
The other five archons do not uphold/focus on the duty of leading humanity, which was the prior responsibility of the original Seven.
I just realized the Archon War was literally about fighting to get a seat on the Seven. The way Archons are chosen are a mystery, just look at how Venti got his Archon-hood smh.
A pattern that we should consider but may be debunked in the future: A playable character MUST posses a visible Vision. So bye Scaramouche banner :')) pls debunk this Mihoyo
With Morax being unable to make Mora, economy is gonna be wack in Teyvat. In essence, every piece of Mora is valuable and will need to be circulated. Nations may fight to hold the most Mora and the one leading and already found a work around on this is actually the Tsaritsa, who has long since focused on economic power. This may not be coincidence.
Characters who are CANONICALLY good with children, to an extent: Ningguang, Beidou, Xiangling, Baizhu, Albedo, Jean, Childe, Ganyu, Xiao, Lisa. Italicized ones are the to an extent ones.
The Fatui has connections with Mondstadt, mainly the Ordo Favonius.
200 years ago sure is an oddly specific duration in Lisa's story and this might be expanded in the Sumeru chapter.
A clarification to a subtly known fact : It is the combined power of all the adepti that revived Qiqi, not just Xiao.
WILD CARD
Almond Tofu is NOT made of tofu. And in original Chinese recipes, it's not even fuckin Almond, it's goddamn Apricot seeds. But in Genshin it is canon Almond.

James McCloud -- Death and the Lylat System
I’ve talked a lot about Corneria’s theorized history, a lot about Krystal, some about Aparoids, and a little bit about the Star Wolf team.  You know what rumor/theory that I haven’t really discussed on here?  The “is James McCloud alive” theory.  So here’s my hot take on that.
So, in the past, I’ve discussed things like how the Cornerus and the Krazoa could be linked and really that’s the main post you have to look at before reading this post.  Here’s my grain of salt before I jump into this theory: I’m making a LOT of assumptions through very small details.  However, these small details are sometimes the only thing we have to go off of to make the story make more sense.  I’m going to call them Assumptions and they will be listed below!
Just as a note, a lot of this information is from Star Fox 64, which has a dubious canon role given the release of Star Fox Zero, but given that none of this information was outright negated by SFZ, it’s pretty much safe to assume that it’s still accurate.
Tumblr media
Assumption #1-- Venom is near Sauria.
We can assume this from multiple things.  In the opening to Star Fox Adventures, after Krystal is trapped in a crystal (it’s 2017 and I’m still mad about that), it is stated that “Meanwhile, in a lost corner of the Lylat System”, implying that we’re on the fringe of the civilized Lylat System already.  Venom sits in a similar position, described by the SF64 manual as being opposite of Corneria (it is also often depicted as being opposite of Corneria in games such as SF64).  So from this knowledge, we know that Venom and Sauria are on the edges of the Lylat System.  I am not wholly convinced that we’ve ever gotten a true and proper Lylat System map but if we consider that Sauria is referred to as “in a lost corner of the Lylat System” and Corneria is opposite of Venom... well, I’d guess less space travel even happens around Venom, so, probably Venom and Sauria are nearby.  (Slippy also seems to back this up in Battle Begins, when he states that it’s a long way between Sauria and Corneria, so they’re definitely not on the same side of the Lylat System.)
We can also gather that Sauria and Venom are nearby from the events of Star Fox Adventures, which states that Andross’s spirit fled to Sauria.  It would make a hell of a lot more sense that Andross fled to Sauria if it was nearby than on the other side of the Lylat System.  Andross also seems rather familiar with Krazoa Spirits and the nature of the planet, and I feel like this could have come from his home base on Venom being close enough to Sauria so that he could observe Sauria.
Tumblr media
Assumption #2 -- Magic Exists on Multiple Planets
This seems incredibly likely given what we know of Krystal and what we’ve witnessed in the Lylat System.  Krystal is telepathic and her staff is sentient, with the ability to channel and absorb magic as well as send telepathic messages.  We already know Krystal is from Cerinia and her staff has the same design as her armor, which nothing else of that pattern is ever seen on Sauria, so we can probably assume that the staff is also Cerinian.
General Pepper expresses no surprise at Sauria’s situation in Star Fox Adventures when he’s talking with the team about their mission of saving the planet, so clearly magic is a known entity at least to Corneria.
Tumblr media
(No, no, no, not you, James Cameron!)
Assumption #3 -- Magic-Rich Planets absorb magic back into it
Has anyone ever questioned why the Krazoa Spirits are... well, Spirits?  Were they always spirits?  Are they dead?  If so, who killed them?  Or have they transcended mortality?  Honestly... considering that a lot of Saurians speak of the Krazoa in both the past and present tense, I think the Krazoa are dead.  Their empire has very clearly crumbled and they do not really seem to rule like they used to. Instead, their spirits seem to remain to keep the planet from falling apart.
If we look waaaaaay back at Dinosaur Planet, which became Star Fox Adventures, in particular to a section called Blackwater Canyon, the nature of death is explained on Sauria.  When a creature dies, its magic is said to be returned to the planet by the power of an organism called the Tree of Life, which is found in Blackwater Canyon, an ancient dinosaur burial site.  So why haven’t the Krazoa been returned to the planet? Aren’t they beings of immense knowledge and magic?  What little we know of Dinosaur Planet does not explain this and while the section with Blackwater Canyon was removed, the lore surrounding death and Sauria remains... well, frankly, unmentioned at all in the game.
However, let’s make the assumption that it is still the same law-- a magic rich planet re-absorbs magic from organisms (which, to be honest, the name Tree of Souls, makes me wonder if it’s just magic or... rather, one’s spirit that is also absorbed).  It still leaves the question as to why the Krazoa Spirits are still around and seem fully capable of conducting magic spells and why Andross is able to show up to Sauria and not get fully absorbed into the planet.
Yet when you beat up a Sharpclaw or really any other baddie... what happens to their body?  Yep, it poofs.  (Although, I haven’t really figured out why they respawn in a similar animation yet, I can only assume it’s because they wanted a cool way to respawn enemies on-screen and just decided to go with a similar aesthetic).  I think this strange discrepancy can be explained by one thing-- power.  Things that are powerful enough to resist being drawn back into the planet’s circulation of magic energy can resist it.  This will come into play in this theory.
You may ask, “Well, wait, what about those dead HighTops and Thorntails that we see in Star Fox Assault, why haven’t their bodies vanished?”... I’ll get to that in another post, but the tl;dr version is that the Aparoids are in process of turning those dinos into other Aparoids, and I’m sorely disappointed we never got to fight a half-Aparoid, half-dino hybrid.  Moving on!
Tumblr media
Back to the actual theory!
Okay, so now that we’ve established all of that, let’s talk about James McCloud.  James’s exact cause of death is relatively unknown, all that we do know is that it happened on Venom.  I think it’s likely that it happened somewhere on Venom’s surface or in Venom’s orbit.  If we assume Venom is a magic-rich planet and that James is powerful enough to resist being absorbed by its natural magic-planet-flow, then James could have continued to exist in spirit form.  Weakened, probably, due to not being as “advanced” in magic as a Krazoa or even Andross (will get to that in a second), so unable to manifest visually for long periods of time but able to resist the pull.  He remains this way through the events of the Lylat Wars and aids Fox in escaping Andross’s lair before it explodes.  Andross is killed in this explosion, reduced to a state similar to James.  I suspect Andross was aware this could happen and had studied the Krazoa beforehand, using Sauria as a “back up” in case things got really bad in his campaign against the Lylat System.
Andross moves on to Sauria, tricking Krystal into becoming a channeling device, and siphoning off of the energy of the Krazoas gathered at Krazoa Palace until he has enough power to fuse with the Krazoas and become a half-Andross, half-Krazoa entity.  During Fox’s travels on Sauria, he encountered cheat token wells, some of which gave him advice.  This advice came in the form of James’s disembodied voice, which seems to imply that James’s spirit followed Andross over to Sauria-- or, alternatively, that James’s spirit has been looking over Fox as a guardian angel.
I consider Command canon, though perhaps not all of its endings.  I think it’s likely for the scenario Dash Makes a Choice that James has returned to Venom to watch over it, knowing that it is a cursed place where so much evil has come from.  Yet, I’m not really sure if I consider that ending canon or not.  In other endings, I would assume that James’s spirit faded into the planet, as Andross was defeated it would mark the end of James’s mission to keep the Lylat System safe from Andross, thus he would be “at peace” and have no reason to stick around.  But given Command’s nature and Nintendo’s lack of clarification, it’s... really hard to say what the status of the Lylat System is at the end of that game.
Anyways, I’m super sorry this got really wordy and long, but I hope you enjoyed my hot take on James McCloud’s current status.  Obviously this is some headcanon/theorizing stuff and if you’d rather headcanon something completely different, then hey, that’s also great!  I just wanted my 2 cents thrown into the internet.  Now, to eat an absurd amount of chocolate cookies...

Sometimes Two Isn’t Enough, Part IV
Fandom: Supernatural / AU
Characters: Reader, Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Castiel
Pairing: Dean x Reader x Sam
Word Count: 2,281
Part: Four [part one, two, three]
Warnings: None!
Author’s note: Sorry it took so long guys, but here it is! We’ve finally started to dig in a little deeper and discover who the reader is, so enjoy! On a side note, I’m on vacation for a week but plan on taking a good old notebook and pen with me to try and get some stuff done. Next weeks chapter will be a little late, but expect a hunt and more information on who the reader is.
Despite the fact that the gentle lull of the Impala’s engine had put you to sleep, when it cut, you hardly stirred. Which was why your brows furrowed in sleep muddled confusion as fingers dusted hair from your eyes. With a soft grumble, your hand moved to bat away whatever had disturbed you, the other tugging Dean’s borrowed jacket closer to your shoulders. And while your sleep addled brain could hear the deep chuckle, your body still insisted on curling deeper into the soft leather of the back seat, chin nuzzling into the jacket within your grasp.
But the hair in your face was pushed back once more, this time accompanied by a gruff whisper of your name. Upon the realization that someone was going to insist on waking you regardless of any effort you put forth in attempt to avert it, you sleepily opened and squinted your eyes at the figure before you. Only once Dean was firmly in focus did your lips curl slightly.
“Sorry - are we stopping again for the night?”
You could tell that it was late afternoon by the light seeping through the windows of the vehicle, and despite the fact that there were potentially hours’ worth of open road ahead of you, you’d been quick to learn that the Winchesters had been taking you into consideration. You knew little about the past, which made driving for a long distance seem uncomfortable. More than once the three of you had stopped around dinner and stayed put, effectively making your trip to safety a little longer, but also much more comfortable.
“We’re here.”
The two words were enough for any lingering exhaustion to be wiped away and replaced with interest. Scooting across the seat, you carefully exited the Impala, offering Dean his jacket back in the process. You felt… nervous. This was, as Dean had once put it, their home. Or as Sam had put it, home base. Putting two and two together hadn’t been hard. One of them was your soulmate, which meant that this - at least for the time being - would be your home as well. Lacking any real memory, this place was your first home, which made it that much more important and special.
“Where’s Sam?”
“Inside. He figured it shouldn’t take two of us to wake you, so he brought everything in.”
Though your gaze had drifted to look at Dean as he spoke, it didn’t take long for you to offer a soft hum of acceptance at his words, eyes turning to the outside of the bunker. And it wasn’t just the exterior building you took in, but the surrounding woods, the roadway, everything.
You aren’t sure how long you lose yourself in your thoughts, but it’s a gentle brush of knuckles against the back of your hand that has you thrown back into focus. The surprised look you throw Dean is enough to put you both on edge, as he’s quick to withdraw his hand and awkwardly run it up the back of his neck instead.
“We - we better not keep Sam waiting. He might think something got us and send out the search party.”
It’s a poor attempt at a joke, one you mentally kick yourself for immediately, but it propels you toward the first doorway in your sight.
The moment you step into the bunker, your feet draw to an immediate halt - causing Dean to nearly barrel right into you. The scuffling of feet as Dean braces his hand against the rail and carefully steady’s you both is enough to draw Sam’s attention from below. It’s likely the look of complete awe on your features that has the grin of pride and the bubble of laughter escaping his throat.
“I had the same expression when I first saw this place too. Don’t worry, you get used to it.”
He was right, you would get used to it eventually, because this place was going to be your home, which was perhaps the reason you’d stopped and just…  stared. They’d built it up to be something because they had memories in this place - they’d established themselves there, and every time they’d spoken of it on the drive, you’d been under the assumption that you’d come to love it because they did. You’d assumed there would be touches of them, but that it would need some of you too - and you were right, it would - but it still seemed perfect.
You weren’t sure when Sam had moved to stand at the bottom of the steps, looking up at you with a small sense of pride shining in his eyes, and that beautiful grin on his face, but once again it was enough to propel you forward.
“I - I know you stumbled upon this place yourselves and have since discovered more about it as time passes but I - may I have a tour?”
It seemed to be the perfect question to ask, because within moments Dean shucked the jacket you’d returned to the back of a chair and the two brothers sprung into action. The three of you moved through each room at the pace you set, and while they provided as much information as they could about each room - whether it be the initial intended purpose of the room, their use of it, or their experience with cases or memories involved in the space, some question always pushed past your lips. Your interest in their home seemed enough for one brother to begin a story or thought, and the other to pick up on it. It was an action you’d believed others might have perceived as rude -- as if they were interrupting one another, but the exchange of looks, of small shrugs and grins was enough to tell you that, while not completely normal, it was something they would accept.
Once you’d returned to the main living space, the walls lined with books and the floor littered with an array of tables and chairs, Dean gave you once last long look before muttering something about cleaning his gun and unpacking. You watched him leave before turning to look at Sam expectantly. Dean had been reluctant, which meant they’d made some sort of deal about spending time with you.
“So these are the books you’ve been telling me all about? The ones filled with lore, and theories… history?” You asked, eyebrow arching slightly.
“Uh- aha ya.” Running a hand over the back of his neck, Sam’s gaze was quick to move from you to the shelves surrounding you.
“I’m not sure I remember, let alone know how to read,” you mutter, brow furrowing slightly in silent question as to whether or not that’s something you should really be ashamed of, “but could you show me some of the books maybe?”
Sometime during your question, your eyes had moved from Sam out of nervousness, instead taking in the lengthy shelves and surrounding area, so when an answer wasn’t offered forth immediately, you nearly cringed. Swallowing the lump of discomfort that was forming in your throat, you dared to look at him. There was a conflicting look on his face, as if he wanted to say something but wasn’t sure how to phrase it. Sam was quick to snap out of it, his head dipping into a succession of nods.
“Yeah - yeah uh I’ll show you some of my favorites.” There is a quick flash of a smile, but the hesitation in his eyes was still prevalent. “And if for some reason you can’t read… then I’ll teach you. Just - just like I’m sure Dean would - will - teach you about hunting or cars or whatever else you want to learn.”
Your lips quirked - only slightly - into the smallest of smiles. “Thanks Sam. I’d really appreciate that.”
Time passed after that, but you found it hard to distinguish whether it was flying or creeping by. You were relieved to note that most words on the pages of the books Sam showed you, as well as a select few you pulled out yourself, held real meaning. There were a few you asked for clarification on, some Sam pointed out as being newer, or slang, others even he was uncertain on. At some point during your trek around the large room, Dean had reemerged. Seated within one of the more comfortable of the chairs with his feet propped up and a beer in his hand, he busied himself with looking for cases on the computer. But it wasn’t long before you caught him watch you pursue the endless number of books, his lips quirking into a smile that seemed the vanish the second he caught either you or Sam watching him.
“What’s the most unique book you have?” The question is perhaps the first words that have truly broken the silence within the bunker in the last hour, but they seem much needed. Particularly because of the silent conversation Sam and Dean appear to be having via looks and facial expressions can either be a good, or terribly bad thing.
“Oh. Well, the Men of Letters have a few odd books - but most of them we’ve managed to translate. Kevin,  or Castiel can handle most anything we throw at them, but there’s one that neither can crack. Castiel claims it’s older than most Angels.”
You glanced between the two brothers, eyebrow arching slightly.
“And you have this thing here? Can I see it?”
A few minutes later, you were seated at one of the tables, a stone tablet in your hands, and a few thin pieces of parchment beside it.
“We assume someone transferred it from stone to paper a few hundred years ago, but outside of a folder and box with a bunch of question marks, there isn’t much too it.” Sam informed, seating himself opposite you.
You gave him a mildly impressed look before your eyes dropped to the tablet in front of you. Within seconds your brows were crinkling together, a frown tugging at your lips.
“What do you mean Castiel couldn’t read this?” With a glance at the Winchesters, you returned to the papers.
Deans attention waned from the laptop in his lap to looking at you fully, eyebrows arched and beer long forgotten.
“Excuse me?”
“Well, it isn’t that hard to read. It’s about the Daughter of God. It’s pretty vague, but the writer keeps calling this Daughter of God her mother.” You muttered, glancing up.
Before either Winchester can open their mouth to say anything, there is a faint flutter of wings before a man appears at the top of the stairs.
This time, you were certain time slowed. All senses but sight dulled - the sound of the brothers greeting or your chair knocking back as it hit the floor were both vague and distant. The man at the stairs appeared directly in front of you, his seemingly stoic face crinkled in confusion.
“Stay back, Angel.”
The threat ripped from your throat in a near growl, one that seemed to shock the entire room back into motion.
“Y/N. Y/N!” The hands pressing against your arms and then moving to cup your face are what drew you back completely into focus. With reluctance, your eyes ripped from the unidentified man to Dean’s, whose expression was no longer masked but shined bright with worry.
“That’s Castiel, okay? He’s a friend.”
The words ought to have reassured you, but instead your eyes flickered back to look at Castiel, the frown returning to your face.
“Y/N here uh - she can read that tablet.” Sam interjected, clearing his throat awkwardly as a hand motioned over toward the table.
“She is not human.”
Scoffing softly, you gave your head a shake, trying to get around Dean to no avail. “Someone has brilliant observation skills; shall we test out your theory?”
Deans face appeared in front of your almost immediately, his hands leaving your face to grip your arms and direct you back a few steps.
“Y/N. What is with the hostility?”
“You keep telling me that Lucifer - the man who apparently held me against my will and used me against you, the man who I apparently hate to the point of wanting to destroy him - is or was also an Angel at some point or another. You may trust him, but I don’t.”
It was enough for his grip to loosen around you. With a few steps, you were back to where you’d been standing before, eyes narrowing onto the trench coated man as Sam explained who you were, and what you’d found.
“That would explain it. Your presence releases an aura of power, like the essence of God after he leaves a place.” Castiel muttered, gaze turning from the tablet to look at you.
“The Daughter of God is as close to an urban legend as the Angels have. Did the tablet mention who might have transcribed it?”
“Emma.” The reply is as brief as you can make it, and from the tense set of Castiel’s shoulders, you realize he is just as unsettled by your presence as you are his.
“Very well, I’ll return to Heaven and begin the search immediately.”
Without waiting for confirmation, there is a flapping of wings and he is gone. A look is exchanged between yourself and the Winchesters before you sigh and give your head a shake.
“That’s Cas for you.” Sam muttered.
“Come on, I’ll make us some dinner.” Dean replied, turning on his heel to disappear into the kitchen. With one last exchanged look between you and Sam, you offered a shrug and followed Dean.
