I (M26) just went through this real shitty breakup. So years ago C and W (M37 now) were partners but C was, uh, in a really bad place mentally (S is telling me this is more diplomatic to say than "crazy af") and that situationship ended as badly as a situationship can end. So thats how S and i meet. oops, guess i never introduced S? Feels weird to have to introduce ourself twice, people dont really meet us separately anymore LOL. S (M, ageless) is also C's alter, my partner in life and badassery and brain and body. and obviously freaky sex stuff, that goes without saying but i'm saying it anyway to brag. the swish swish to my stabbing people who really deserve it. i know sectumsempra is like, The Drarry Fodder in the book that's already drarry fodder overall; it is to me as well, though taking off my fudan glasses halfway i see it as a symbolism more than anything else

harry and draco have a funny dynamic throughout books 1-5. they regard each other as 'archenemies' according to harry, yet their fights mostly consist of taunts, quidditch or normal wizard duelling. it's rare to see them actually physically harming each other, and in the rare instances that they do, it's ron and hermione who did it (the first year fight and hermione's slap), or if it's harry, it's because draco went too far with his goading and he was at the angriest point of his life.

only one of these did draco actually try to fight back, and it was with ron. throughout the books he has shown to be aversive of physical fights and pain in general, even neville(who was regarded as a loser for so long) trying to attack him he cowers behind his bodyguards.

i think this is one of the few things that enabled him to regret being a DE tbh. while crabbe and goyle never became a fullfledged death eaters, they support voldemort and have this naivety that makes them think casting killing spells or torturing people is just like playing with a toy. draco does not, atleast when reaching this point.

anyways, so draco is typically aversive to fights that truly harm a wizard, and harry does the same thing, atleast to draco. both of them don't really harm each other. all of their spells are fixable, no matter if the reader finds them mean or too much. and in the instances where they go too far (this is mostly draco tbf), they back off and go back to the status quo.

this is schoolyard fighting to them, even in ootp, when voldemort has came back, draco's taunts and motivation doesn't stem from serving him, it's from getting back at Potter. it's their thing, it's constant. both of them know that subconsciously

but sectumsempra is symbolism of this dynamic ending, end of an era if you will. they Can't return to schoolyard fighting, try as they might. draco has to follow voldemort or risk him or his family killed, while harry has to follow dumbledore and kill vodemort.

harry, in his 'finding out what malfoy is up to' thing, operates as if it's a little mystery to solve. it's not That serious at this point. while he had suspicions that whatever draco is doing is DE related, i don't think he knows the true severity of it. why would he? malfoy is a constant, they've duelled many times before and they don't truly hurt each other. alot of the DE damage is outside of hogwarts as well, hogwarts is safe and untouchable.

sectumsempra marks the end of that. not only draco attacks first in a hostile manner, but their spells escalate as it goes on:

in just one fight, draco tried to torture harry (regardless if it would've worked or not), harry harmed draco with an unknown dark spell that he doesn't know the counter to, and harry basically finds out that whatever draco's doing where he gloated all about it at the beginning of the year is something that's giving him distress. enough to cry and talk to moaning myrtle of all people

it's different from their constant. malfoy shouldn't cry and he should retain his same spoiled brat personality. harry shouldn't dabble in the dark arts especially when he doesn't really know what it does. it rattled him so much (plus losing all the things he was fixated on this school year all at once, not just finding out what draco's up to) it's enough to make harry stop with his investigation and start a love life gmrgmfdgf

when it comes to characters such as lazarus, do you think anyone could trust him with any sort of firearm? or like, does any character know how to use weapons? Esau, Lazarus, Samson, Judas, Eve, (and maybe Eden) look like they know how.

Oh boy now this is an interesting question mhmmm… First we need to keep in mind that my story doesn’t really take place in America. I didn’t really want my AU to take place in a *real* country, I intentionally kept it vague, so that people could fill in the blanks themselves. Reincarnation can take place wherever you want! But since I’m more familiar with Italian legislation, some of it might seep into my setting. Which means: guns are rare and difficult to obtain.

Funnily enough, I have an inside joke with my friend that Isaac owns at least one gun. The boy got tired of all the supernatural bullshit so now he’s fighting back.

With that being said: realistically, I think the only one with some expertise with guns would be Cain. He’s very old, he’s seen a lot of stuff, went through a lot of shit, and knowing how to protect oneself when faced with adversity is really important. He’s probably more used to older stuff tho, I can’t really see him with a high-tech automatic rifle. Maybe a tommy gun lmao. I don’t think he killed anyone else besides Abel tho, he doesn’t really want to go through that again.

As for the others you mentioned… Lazarus and guns seems like a terrible combination, knowing his chronic bad luck that thing would go off on him all the time. And while he can’t really die, accidentally shooting himself isn’t really something I’d wish upon him lol.

Judas would not trust himself with guns. At all. He’s already got some pretty strong self-destructive tendencies and Azazel would never allow a gun in their house. Judas has a problem with offing himself in every life, and Azazel always tries his damn best for it not to happen. He’s failed every single time, but that doesn’t deter him. He’s already pretty on edge with Judas living in a normal house with normal dangerous things (like knives) adding a gun to the equation would make Azazel explode immediately so that’s a big no no.

Esau strikes me as the type of guy who would know about weapons/guns but wouldn’t own them? Idk he doesn’t really seems like the type… Jacob might have an interest in Medieval weapons tho, he’s enough of a nerd for that. He probably tried to rope Esau into some historical reenactments but his brother wasn’t really having it. I can see Jacob taking on something like medieval fencing if he wasn’t disabled. Also Lazarus would make fun of him lol.

Samson wouldn’t really know his way around a gun or any other weapon, so he would be a danger to himself and others. Big no no.

Eve might know something about guns? Maybe her father was a cop, or a hunter. I could see that… tbf I didn’t really think about Eve’s parents, maybe this could be interesting! I can definitely see baby Eve looking at her dad cleaning and assembling his guns. The only gun she uses is the tattoo gun in her shop lol.

Maggy strikes me as a blunt force trauma girlie, she should have a warhammer. Or a crowbar, as a treat.

Lilith can’t see, so she wouldn’t even get close to a gun, or any type of weapon. Too risky.

Bethany is a wee baby, her defense mechanism is just curling up in a ball and hoping for the best.

OKAY now onto Eden and Azazel. They do absolutely know how to use weapons. Every angel has a weapon (usually a sword, Azazel and Eden both had swords) every angel is a warrior of God, and fighting demons is part of their purpose. So yeah, both Eden and Azazel (who used to be an angel) know their way around weapons, Azazel was quite the skilled warrior, and even used to create his own! When he first started living amongst humans he learned how to be a blacksmith and goldsmith, and he was really good at it. Azazel’s weapon is currently under archangel Michael’s care, and Eden lost theirs lol. As for guns, Azazel isn’t too fond of them and Eden wouldn’t really need them anyway even if they technically know how to fire one (they’re a Cherub, and Cherubim are omniscient).

Apollyon, being an angel, also knows how to fight but never ever had to in the billions and billions of years he existed. His main weapon is a spear that doubles as the Key for the Abyss.

I don't think he makes it all the way to Shizue, she's like?? she's normal. like, if that was Saito, wouldn't he just say 'fuck it i can sync here' even if it wasn't his journeyyy it was like. better than not getting his body, no? Currently, I'm writing about Boboiboy's appreciation post but your question instantly made me, "Wait, should I review the second season or wait until all arcs are animated?"

But then I figured if I waited until next year, I already forgot about your question. So I answered now.

Tbf, I wanted to wait for all arcs animated then read the comic, but I reaaaallly curious and adore the art style so much. Usually, Monsta releases comics as an extension after tv/movie aired. However, due to the pandemic, they release the comic first. Even they initially went all comic and no animation. Glad they managed to release per arc in season 2. Eventually, I continued to read about it after watching 3 episodes of Sori.

Okay on to the story!

It's well known that the Comic version was more ruthless than tv/movie ones. There's one tweet mentioned compare this scene below(it's also one of the reasons why I want to read the comics ver.)

So it's not surprising that Season 2 comic book went on the same route. That's also one of my shopping lists when I visit to Malaysia(the shipping cost is higher in Indonesia btw :/)

So my take on this season is ... I am so glad they delve deeper than I thought. AND ended beautifully back their original roots: become the earth's protector once again! (and take care of Tok Aba but I'm not ready for that :'( )

If Season 1 is about the responsibility of being the heroes of galaxy, therefore, Season 2 is about the cost and risk of them.

I love the Kokotiam gang's character journey throughout the arc. Holy shit the conflict on each planet was wild for sure! the intensity, the humor, and the revelation are well-balanced. All the new characters are memorable enough that I can see why people were angry when Sori cut most of them from the early issues. (Manifesting they wouldn't do that for Windara's arc :) )

I'd say I am satisfied with all the action and story of Kokotiam gang's arc!

For elementals, I WILL rant more about this in the next topic. Holy-my head is full of theories and shit, I want to explode myself.

If I choose some takeaways from this season, It's the fusion part. Don't get me wrong, I love the design, the animation, and their attacks, and is the last option when Boboiboy couldn't use his 3rd tier (my personal favorites are Glacier and Supra). I've mentioned it briefly in my previous post.

But when they add personal traits? hooo boy, I...got issues with that.

I don't want them getting too dominant when there are already seven elementals with distinct personalities and upgrades(and their fanbases) other than Boboiboy's original trait. And now there's 5 fusion elementals???

But then, it is what it is... I can't blame them. Their original concept of the Galaxy series was weirder than this but I hope this fusion comes with more cost to Boboiboy's mental health(bro, he's a freaking human being, not superman >:/). His amnesia got worse and I don't think fusion will making him better ^^)'

Anyway! This whole episode, Jack is pretty successfully being raised by The Village of Hunters. Everyone steps in: AU Bobby, Mary, Sam, Cas. (Of note, Jack doesn't feel better, really, until he talks to Cas.)

In this episode, Jack laments the loss of his powers.

In the Sam scene, Sam tries his best to sit with and comfort Jack, and he mostly does okay with that. Interestingly, Sam emphasizes "moving past it," because that's a Sam way of coping. Dissociate and get back to work.

This is a sharp contrast to when Dean comforted Jack about his nightmares in 13x23, which was to tell him, "It's not about being strong," and emphasize taking care of Jack.

Sam in 14x01:

SAM: I talked to Bobby. He says you may have had a rough day today. JACK (sullen, closed off): It was fine. Sam tries some more. SAM: I know it's a lot, I'm sure, but you can get past this. I know you will. I have faith in you, Jack, and I believe in you. (Mary enters; Jack still looks sullen and upset.)

It's a nice attempt, especially for Sam, who comes by connection in a more practiced, careful, "therapizing" manner. The conversation gets interrupted by Nick Vaught waking up. Nevertheless, even before the interruption, Sam's attempt gives off a stilted feeling, like Sam is reading from a self-help seminar.

He says, "You'll get past this," and "I believe in you." Somehow, it doesn't feel like he's coming down to Jack's level and getting real with him, as Dean and later Cas will do.

At the end of the episode, Cas comes into Jack's room, with his own face beaten to a pulp. Cas hasn't healed himself. He's letting Jack see his own weakness here. That it's okay to screw up. They all screw up all the time.

He asks how Jack is, and Jack sullenly mutters (again) that he's fine. Then, Cas tells Jack that he did well, and Jack explodes in a flurry of emotion, easily opening up to Cas: (we’ll see that he is more willing to hurl his genuine emotions at Cas, Mary, Dean…)

JACK: All I did was get punched...in the face! CAS (wryly): To be fair, we all got punched in the face. JACK: That's not--Before, when I had my powers, I-I could've done something. CAS (frankly): Jack, you don't-- you don't have your powers. And you- your grace should regenerate in time. But until then-- JACK: I'm useless. I can't kill demons, I can't find Dean, and Michael is in our world and I can't stop him. I can't do anything. I don't have...anything. CAS: Oh, Jack. That's just not true. You've got me. You have all of us. (touches shoulder) You have...your family. (then, passionately) And we are going to find Dean, and we are going to beat Michael, and we're going to do it together! Because that's what we do.

Cas's message seems to get through to Jack a little better here, though Jack is still uncertain and scared. Cas, like Dean, keeps it real with Jack (just like they keep it real with Claire). It doesn't sound so...canned. (Sorry, Sam. Ilu. You try so hard.)

Cas talks frankly: "Yes, you've lost your powers." He also, like Dean, emphasizes familial support and delivers a message of hope and unshakeable confidence.

You can keep posting that image about seeding but the problem is not that you matched them wrong, it’s the way that your seeding was calculated. Basing seeding off of submissions is a faulty way to calculate because it’s a much smaller sample population than even the people who will participate in the poll. A better option would have been to take the ships and their popularity from ao3, and when/if you accept submissions that aren’t there then to estimate only those based on number of submissions.

Sadly, there is no kiss between Arthur and Merlin given the fact that Bradley wasn't in the film and this is not, in fact, the Following the Beast movie, even though I might have convinced you with these photos and captions. I am sure that someone who has read it had some influence on the look, I swear to God. Btw this is completely how I picture the fic to look like, so maybe I am 100% off and this was all useless.

Also, this dude right here IS Kilgarrah. I swear, they play the same role! If you'll watch the movie you'll know what I mean. And Colin kills him towards the end, which is sorta kinda what happens in the fic... but not really, but TBF it is sort of hinted that Merlin will make the lizard pay for all the bullshit, so really that's the same.

So, I hope I have proved my point today, and also showed once again how unhinged I am about this fic. (or any of footloose's stories, but that's not what this post is about) It's unhealthy.

This post took a while, and it's for the very small demographic of people who happened to watch the film and also read Following the Beast, so some would say that it's a "waste of time" and "you should be studying" and "don't you have four exams in like 5 weeks?", but I would call them haters. Oh also! The bit u said about liking being able to see other people enjoy the fic/talk to them about it is exactly how I feel. I have one friend who I kinda talk to about fics sometimes but he hasn't watched hazbin and doesn't read fandics at all himself so I always feel like it's kinda weird and yeah. Plus kinda annoyed with them atm so yeah no one to really talk to it about(I also kinda forgot to socialise at all over the summer exept when I was on holiday cause I met new friends there and I wanted to spend time with them while I could. But like my lack of socialisation makes it even weirder to message just about a fic they haven't read lol)

But doing this and actually getting to talk about the fic is so mice cause I love talking about things and it's so good being able to ramble immediately and in small bits otherwise all my thoughts like explode in my brain and idk how to explain it. I also always feel like ao3 should do like a lil camera thing in the corner like u have od ourself if you videocall someone and u screenshot it to see ur reaction to big plot twists. Idk it's so stupid but I think it would be such a fun silly idea🤣 I swear my face when I realised the "weird 2 pronged twig" Al was holding after his fight with Vox was his antler my face was like :0

Joe is such a comfort character for me in a very diff way. he makes my daddy issues go brrrrr cos THIS is a dad. THE dad of all time. if i could pick any dad ever to have instead of mine i think i'd pick him.

I think he's so fucking funny first of all. it's my fave thing to put him in a fic and just. mess with him. im poking him with a stick. im watching his blood pressure go up. i'm making him deal with leonard snart and he's about to explode every time they're in a room together. i just. have so many affectionate feelings for him and his seething hatred of this man. and the earth 2 version where he's exactly like that but to BARRY? iconic. no notes. rip earth 2 joe you were a bitch and i miss you sm

THAT BEING SAID there are things about him that make me go "you should have faced more consequences for that. go sit in a corner and think about what you've done." namely bullying iris out of being a cop (acab etc. etc. but still shitty of him), the whole thing where he was like BARRY, WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK MY PERMISSION TO MARRY IRIS (and iris AGREED 🤮🤮🤮 who the fuck was in charge of the writers' room that day, i just wanna talk), the fact that he can be overbearing and controlling of his kids and very jaded in a lot of ways... idk he's a flawed character and every character needs some negative aspects so none of these things affect my love for him but sometimes i am shaking my head in disapproval...

as for canon. this is true of everything but MAN did they drop the ball with him towards the end... i get why they had joe quit ccpd given the political situation at the time and i support that 100% but first of all, having a Black character go "hey the police force in my city is inherently corrupt and i can no longer be complicit in its enforcement" (true and correct) while their white hero just does not acknowledge that corruption and continues to work for the same establishment completely uncritically was... perhaps not sending the message they intended... i mean it's honestly almost funny cos that is very much a reflection of the actual systems but. maybe they could have thought about that one a bit more...

and they really should have given joe something else to do cos he ended up sorta directionless after that. in fairness i know jesse l martin has back problems so i think them having him sitting down chilling at home as a stay at home dad was perhaps borne of necessity in a lot of ways but they defo could have done more interesting things with the character. im not OPPOSED to sahd joe but it does seem like a bit of a waste cos it would just be like. every episode joe shows up for a pep talk then goes back to being the full-time stay at home parent for a child we literally never see except one time when a window explodes in her face, which brings me to my NEXT point---

writing joe out with LITERALLY like 8 eps to go? stupid. again i respect that jesse l martin had HAD it with this show (tbf who hadnt by this point) and he wanted out, of course he had every right to do that, but purely based on the context of the show, i hate that they had him leave central city like that and move so far away when we were so close to the finish line. HAAATE it. the show was basically on life support from that point on. it was possibly worse than when we lost cisco. joe was the heart of it, man. it just wasn't the same :(

but yes I LOVE JOE, he is the only fictional dad i respect and i love ruining his life

so, barring the fact that i generally do not appreciate wolfstar being separated lmao, i don’t necessarily hate this? like tbf i don’t know much about them, it’s not one of my ships and i also don’t think i’ve seen much about them on my own dash (which is fair, I tend to make it so that most people i follow are generally into the same pairings i am).

that being said, i have either direct or second-hand knowledge of the dynamics between these characters in the context of romance, so I’ll just start there ig.

okay, so obviously james with regulus clearly works in my mind in their crazy way that we all know and love. we all know this, no need to go over it again. okay, next!

to be entirely honest with you I personally just don’t really see the whole remus x james thing, but i admit that it could work, because obviously james is definitely someone that can be a source of comfort for remus and also does not get scared of his sharpest edges, while remus clearly sees james for who he is, and i think he’d be able to call him out on a lot of his bullshit in his typical remus lupin way and it would actually be a lot of fun to watch. ((also yes, despite what canon will have you think, remus definitely saw james for who he was, i’d argue that an instance of him talking about james to his son after hE WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED WHILE BASICALLY SAVING THE WIZARDING WORLD is probably not the time he’d launch in an analysis of the complexities of james’ characters)) ((I can talk more about this, please ask me about this, i have a lot of opinions about thisss))

remus x regulus, I have talked about many other times and you can see my in-depth opinion under the same tag i’m using for this ask, but basically i don’t see them in a traditional romantic relationship as i see their bond as very unique and personal, and i feel like mixing that in with the way that james does relationships… idk I feel like it would ruin that a little, but maybe they actually might help james open his mind about how relationships work so it really all depends on how it’s done tbf.

tbh though the main objection I have with this ship is that i don’t like what it can do for remus’ character.

i mean like idk regulus and james both should work in theory with remus because this fandom (and jkr first) has kind of written as being the mirror of two different sides of sirius (i’m not saying this is why people thought of this ship, i’m just pointing out a theme) and to me remus does work particularly well with sirius, but it just… doesn’t for me. i feel like being pulled in the chaos that is the collapse of james and regulus would not be good for remus as he’d end up once again having to pick up the role of the “calm and reasonable” one, whereas he needs someone or more than someone that allows him to collapse and explode as well, exploring both that mischievous side that makes him blend perfectly within the marauders and the more violent side he’s always felt he’s needed to hide away for the benefit of others (lyall and hope specifically). james and regulus singularly might do that for remus, but james and regulus together? they can barely contain the burnt of their own explosion, there’s no way they can absorb the impact of remus and he’d feel that and so he’d keep it inside and that would ultimately not allow him to have the development we (by which i obviously mean me) generally like to see in him.

and i mean. obviously one doesn’t have to only like pairing that are happy and healthy. if you want to write this ship with remus being even more repressed than he’s already without being able to release it with, you know, him growing further and further from accepting that side of him that reminds him way too of his werewolf self… sure you can do that, but tbf i find it way too similar to the way jkr herself has destroyed remus’ character to find anything interesting to be said there.

so yeah it’s not like I hate it, but it’s just a meh. don’t like that. yk?
