Something about the Italian sky seems different. Maybe it’s because you’re not close to a big city, but the stars shine brighter than you’ve ever seen them. It feels like a movie; the stars and moon so visible with no cloud in sight, the small street of Arezzo you’re currently sitting in - a small restaurant with a small menu but a nice older man that speaks decent English. A glass of wine standing on the small table beside you and the first bit of peace you’ve felt in days. 

It’s when you take your next sip of wine you see them. 

Two men straight out of a magazine walking towards one of the free tables next to yours and sitting down. There is nothing you can do but stare. Both of them have dark hair, one of them a bit shorter than the other. They are dressed elegantly, designer shoes and pants, blazers hanging over their chairs. Even if you wanted to - you could not possibly say which one was more attractive. 

What a nice way to end a horrible day, you think. Smiling, you finish your glass and immediately order the next, not entirely used to drinking so much, but not caring since you are miles away from home and no one here knows you anyway. The waiter nods and then proceeds to go over to the newcomers. The one with the slightly lighter hair and the mole on his nose orders in perfect Italian, with just enough of an accent for you to know they aren’t from here. Your choice of table appears to be perfect for watching them, listening to them converse in a language you understand. 

And it all stays innocent like this - they talk about their flight and about friends - until suddenly the conversation sways.

“I honestly- fuck, I can’t believe we’re actually doing this, you know?” The one with shorter hair says and his friend sighs, taking his wine glass and finishing it in one go. Impressive. There was at least half left in yours. 

“I don’t know what to tell you. We committed and now we’re fucked.”

“Just that we aren’t getting actually fucked.”

They look at each other before they laugh, shaking their heads. Meanwhile, your ears perk up. 

“Fuck, I really don’t know the last time she let me hit it, Hoon. I think I’m going crazy.”

“Yeah, same here. Like, yeah, we fucked once the day before her flight. But literally only missionary and she didn’t suck me off.”

“Again? Dude, is she ever even putting her mouth on it?” 

“Nope. Ever since we got engaged she’s like this fucking prude. Is yours like that too?”

“Yeah. I got her flowers and her favorite chocolates and she still wouldn’t even jack me off, like fuck, if it’s gonna be like this forever I can just go cut my dick off.”

Jesus. These two seem to be in very happy relationships. Makes you almost feel better to not be in one. Even if your mother would beg to differ. She’s been desperate for you to find a match for ages. For whatever reason, really, considering her two golden girls were about to get married to rich and handsome heirs. 

“Just one good blowjob, man, that’s all I want, really. I miss getting some good fucking head.”

The way short hair looks at mole - with so much understanding and pity, you can’t help but chuckle. Chuckle loud enough for them to take notice. 

Their gazes burn on your face before you even see them. But when you do your smile dies and instead makes room for horror. They heard you laugh at them. Even worse, they know you’ve been listening. Shit. 

Thankfully, you are three glasses of delicious white wine in and the fourth one is almost empty. Which means you aren’t the sweet little wallflower you’d usually be. Scary, how alcohol can change people.

“Oh, I am sorry. I shouldn’t have eavesdropped.” You apologize, placing your hand over your heart. 

“Agreed.” Short hair says, his eyebrow raised. Now, with both of their eyes on you, it seems like they are even more attractive. Perfect faces with pretty eyes and soft looking hair. Handsome men in unhappy relationships that fail to give them what they need. It’s almost comical how the switch in your head turns over, how the persona you normally never let anyone see until you’re in a secluded space comes out and gives you the courage to speak your next words.

“I just couldn’t believe my ears,” you let your finger glide over the rim of your glass, eyes on the two men with your tongue slipping out to lick over your bottom lip, “how anyone would be opposed to having sex with you.” 

Oh.

Sunghoon and Heeseung’s ears perk up just like yours did earlier. Eyes widen slightly as they understand the innuendo in your words. 

They think about the same thing - the last time they took a girl together. Probably during senior year in college. Back then, they used to do that regularly. Having almost the identical type in women. Instead of having to let her choose, she’d get them both. 

But it’s been years since then. They are in committed relationships now, about to get married. And still - neither of them can deny that you fall right into their usual prey, or well, the prey they’d chosen back in college before their parents had picked out their wives for them. 

It’s the way you look at them, the way your eyes say so much more than your words. It is also the way both of them feel like they are 22 again with nothing but getting their dick wet on their minds. One thing about Heeseung and Sunghoon - they always worked perfectly in a pair. Back in college and now, too. They can almost read each other’s minds at this point, only a short exchange of looks needed to know neither of them gave a single fuck about anything right now.

“Want to sit down with us?” Sunghoon asks and points at the free chair opposite them. You smile. 

“It’d be my pleasure.”

Your heart ices over as you see him there - holding your baby. "No," you breathe.

"Look who it is!" he coos happily. He smiles at your terrified visage in the doorway and kisses June's head. "We missed you, Mommy."

You're just outside the nursery when you hear his voice, and ice cold fear instantly floods your chest. You drop the laundry basket and run into the room, and there he is: seated in the chair you nurse from, reading one of the antique fairytale books that your mom gave at the shower, holding your baby.

"James," you breathe, horrified.

He's been smiling down at June, but now his face smooths out as he looks up at you. He isn't frowning or glaring, but you know him, and there's a storm behind those eyes that makes dread curl heavy in your stomach. "Hi Doll," he says quietly. "It's good to see you again."

Your heart pounds in your chest. You feel sick. One wrong move and who knows what he'll do. You take a cautious step forward, eyes searching James' body and anywhere nearby for a gun. You don't see one. You take another step. "James," you warn,

June makes a happy gurgle at seeing you, and James coos down at her, "Aw, yeah sweetie. I'm happy to see Mommy too."

"You know where (Y/n) is? She was supposed to..." He peered around Tamaki's shoulder, eyes scanning over some clothes on the dark floor, "--Grab some beers."

Tamaki filled up a little more space in the doorway, leaning in an unnatural manner. His mind was scattered and he stumbled over many phrases. Mirio's heart pounded up to his ears.

"What?" He asked, sizing him up and tilting his head. He, too, leaned on the doorway, unafraid of getting close.

Tamaki spoke up, but remained unable to lie very well, "She's- yeah, she said she was gonna get them a while ago," He shook his head and was done babbling, eyes cast to the hardwood floors.

Mirio tilted his head down more, inches from his warm, partially sticky face.

They were speaking very quietly, but the tension was so thick you could cut the air with a knife.

"Yeah?" He tested, lifting his tone.

"Yeahh," Tamaki sighed with a small, sheepish glance forward.

"Yeah." Mirio sighed back, hand sliding off the door.

For a moment, he lingered, ears reddened with embarrassment and insecurity, and Tamaki's breath stilled for fear he would throw a punch, or a shove. But he knew where his jealousy had gotten him before, how pointless an argument would be, especially if his suspicions were somehow false.

"Okay, bud," He walked away with another disapproving glance, but Tamaki was so busy looking at his feet that he didn't see it.

Mirio didn't even try looking around after that. He went straight to the fridge, picked up 7 beers (5 for everyone else, 2 for himself), and joined the commotion outside once more.

So, on the new teaser published on DA Day this year, while I won't even try to go as in-depth as the amazing @felassan already did, compiling everything of note in this excellent post, like the sleep deprived German with limited vocabulary that I am, I'm just gonna add my little two cents to it, hopefully not repeating too much of what has already been mentioned. 😁

So why not start with the caption here!

This honestly made me snort out loud. 😂 I mean, it's like BioWare is not even trying anymore to be subtle about the fact that Thedas has we know it is 100% doomed. lol And yes, I know we all joke about Thedas constantly being in Apocalypse mode, but this time it really feels like some massive change is approaching.

But to be specific, I am pretty confident in that this is referring to both the destruction of the Veil, as well as the freed Evanuris dooming the world through some kind of mega Blight.

When I first read the word "revelation", it immediately made me think of Solas' Tower tarot card. The Tower literally represents sudden, disruptive revelation and potentially destructive change. While "damnation" is the concept of a divine punishment, to be "doomed to suffer in hell forever".

And as felassan theorized, if the last person in the teaser speaking is Elgar'nan, and if he is in fact connected to the Old God Lusacan, who is the God of Night, bringing about the "eternal night" and darkness…

“Lusacan, the Dragon of Night, calls to you. He lives where it is darkest and waits for the day he will rise. Drink of his blood and know the power in darkness: either fear the Night or wield it." "The darkspawn yearn to awaken and corrupt Lusacan to start a new age of darkness." “A night that will never end”

...Whereas the "revelation"/Solas tearing down the Veil, to me at least, always seemed to be associated with light or "purification" (for lack of a better word), with how it was described in Sandal’s prophecy and the way the destruction of the Veil was portrayed in the 2022 cinematic, almost blindlingly bright. (Also, "Solas" literally means "light" in Irish. lol)

„One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just as they were. The shadows will part. And the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see.“

So I think, like this "revelation" contrasts the "damnation", like Light and Darkness, at least in terms of visual language, there could be a hint of a figurative, as well as a literal "clashing" of two opposing forces? Like, both are destructive, but like The Tower represents destruction in order to rebuild/to enforce new growth/for the soul to evolve, while the damnation is nothing but irreparable corruption?

Anyway! So generally speaking, the teaser highlights yet again three of the factions/places we've seen in all the 2020 teaser/concept art/books/comics. It looked absolutely gorgeous and the voice over gave me goosebumps, as well as the amazing score again (that may or may not be composed by Hans Zimmer and/or Lorne Balfe lol I wonder) and the sound design! <3333 Though what’s curious to me, is that neither the Shadow Dragons of Tevinter or the Veil Jumpers from the Arlathan Forest were mentioned this time around…

So, I think this time the teaser might be more about the main plot beats/quests in the game than about the protagonist's potential origins, like how in DAO and DAI, you travelled to various places gathering allies and completed their respective narratives first before facing the main threat. Each of the places shown is coupled with a voice over from what is most likely gonna be an important character in each of these plot beats.

The fact that they changed the word "hero" in the plot blurb on the official DA website to "leader" is also.. interesting. It kinda reminds me of when Mark Darrah mentioned that the "vision statement" for Joplin was gonna be "We would be heroes, but the records are sealed". 👀 Or maybe the new protagonist might not be so heroic after all and more on the morally grey spectrum, which is always nice to explore. lol Makes me also yet again wonder about the "They call me the Dread Wolf. What will they call you when this is over?" line, meaning that, no matter how heroic our actions might be, in the end history might still remember us as the villain.

Antiva

This looks phenomenal and if they actually manage to realize a city as big as what this suggests AND fill it with meaningful content and people (side-eyeing you, Val Royeaux lol), it will blow my mind! lol Like felassan said, I'm very curious if we're gonna do some Assassin's Creed style "parkour" here, like what was kinda described in the short story "As We Fly" from last year! The Crows as the only real military defense of Antiva, particularly in Treviso, seem to be in deep trouble now, having been invaded by the Antaam and if you look closely, you can actually see the banner of the Qunari being displayed in the city!

"We fight for everyone. And we always will. The Crows rule Antiva."

My first thought hearing the voice here was actually Caterina Dellamorte. The lines express authority or leadership and it's also a more elderly sounding voice (to me at least), so Caterina as the First Talon would make a lot of sense to me! There have also been lots of speculation about her grandson, Lucanis, being a potential companion as well.

Rivain

(Oh no, all of Rivain got eaten by a squid. lol)

I've been hoping to go there ever since I first saw concept art of Rivain, and this is still giving me huge Pirates of the Caribbean (but with magic) vibes. 😂 As someone who thoroughly enjoyed playing AC Black Flag like ten years ago, this looks VERY promising! Though please, if we're getting any kind of underwater combat (like with the Vinsomer mentioned in the codex entry from last year), just don't make me fight dragons underwater, I'm still traumatized by the Lagiacrus in Monster Hunter Tri. 💀

As to who is saying this, honestly, no idea. 😂 The blurb on the website mentions dragons in this place acting up for some reason, and the line sounds very cultist. lol But I'm definitely with felassan here, too, that this has to be connected to the Evanuris as well, given this GIANT squid thing on the map and all of the horrifying ocean related stuff linked to Ghilan'nain and her monstrosities, my money is also on her being one of these "risen gods".

And honestly… If I was a simple sailor or pirate and then one day I would see this emerge from the ocean…

….I'd probably start believing in these "gods", too. lmao

Anderfels

Next up, we're going to the Anderfels and Weisshaupt and I don't really have anything to add to what has already been said, other than "Shit is definitely Going Down Here". lol Lorewise, it would be crazy to go there and learn more about the very beginnings of the Wardens at their headquarters, so.. given the lines, the ominous sound of battle in the background here and some *things* from those reddit leaks earlier this year (felassan made a great post about this too, but spoiler warning of course!).. I just hope there will be enough left of Weisshaupt to explore after all this. lol

"Grey Wardens don't hide in our castle. I won't ask good soldiers to turn tail and run."

My first guess was the First Warden as well, but felassan actually made a few very good points here that make me question it… 🤔

I was also wondering what these "pillar ring" things are and while I first thought some kind of magical defense mechanism, I saw a reddit user suggesting that these rings could be part of a griffon training flight path?? Hell YEAH. #BringBackGriffonsInDA4

"Tremors have been creating disturbances of late. Their cause is unknown. Upon the distant horizon, a storm of ominous intent brews and darkens the skies."

That is a very interesting description, given that the sky in *this* concept art (which is definitely also showing Weisshaupt), is quite clearly the opposite of "dark". lol

(*looking suspiciously at the things I mentioned at the beginning here about "Light and Darkness" clashing* 👀👀👀 Maybe Solas came to visit here, too, because he just loves the Wardens, right? lol)

You know, if I read the words "tremors" and "Grey Wardens", my natural conclusion is "Something something Old Gods Underground + Grey Wardens Trying to Kill Them Before They Awake = Nothing Good" (and let's not forget about the eleven(!!) mountains/Ghilan'nain's ancient pools underground mentioned in Tevinter Nights as well), keeping in mind that Solas gets furious about the Wardens deliberately searching them out and slaying them (because he obviously knows what's gonna happen if all of them are slayed(!)), and in DAI there was already something ominous going on at Weisshaupt...

And all of this coupled with the new vinyl artwork and all the promotional stuff for DA4 so far, makes me feel like the Wardens will be busier than ever before...

Seven semi-circles with two of them still "lit" and the "tambourine"/Veil looking more broken with each new update....

Seven Old Gods/Evanuris that were banished when Solas created the Veil.....

Seven mirrors shattering....

Seven gates of the Black City, which Kordillus Drakon prophesied will someday shatter and cover both the mortal and spirit realms in darkness....

And speaking of "DARKNESS COVERING BOTH REALMS".....

Tevinter

One word: TENDRILS. lmao

So the last shot shows a big part of Tevinter on the map, most of it covered in purple clouds and tendrils...

Followed by a voice that had me like

"All the world will soon share the peace and comfort of my reign."

First off, that voice actor sounds SO familiar, omg, who IS that?? Someone suggested Joseph Capp, the voice of the Shadow Prince from Divinity 2 and that fits perfectly (DOS2 has quite a few VAs from DA actually and funnily enough, the Shadow Prince is part of Sebille's main quest, who's voiced by Alix Wilton Regan lol) Whoever it is, they're doing a great job at sending a shiver down my spine. lol Like, you can just TELL, he's the Real Deal. "Peace and Comfort" never sounded more menacing. 👀

Alright, so I'll make this short, and say that I'm also very very confident that this is Elgar'nan speaking.

People have suggested the Archon, the Black Divine, some Venatori or Qunari leader, but honestly guys, none of these make much sense to me when looking at the bigger picture here (aside from the visual hints I've talked about earlier). Like, this teaser is obviously trying to set this person up as a serious threat to *the whole world*, and the only way I can see this work would be if this person held just as much or more power than Solas, because if they don't, they would just end up being a secondary concern, like another Corypheus…

You just don't market a game by suddenly introducing a new smaller threat to *"AAALL THE WORLD"* less powerful than the one we already have, you know. 😂 And imo, the only one "outmatching" Solas in terms of power, at this point, would be Elgar'nan or any of the elven gods. Or literally the Blight itself/the Titans.

And then there's this

"Hundreds of years in the making."

We know who has been directing the course of history for ages behind the curtains… I mean, the entire series has been building towards Mythal getting her vengeance.. and what better way to finally get to that point than to bring her husband into the narrative, the one who was potentially the main instigator of the Evanuris's betrayal and Mythal's murder. 👀

(There's one thing I need to say though, and I know this is the silliest of nitpicks, but.. if that guy really does turn out to be Elgar'nan, am I the only one who thinks it's really funny how he's just… talking British English/the common tongue like that? 😂 I mean, I 100% get why they cannot make the actors talk in ancient elven with subtitles for the whole game (something I personally really appreciated when they did it for some of the ancient elves and spirits in DAI), like Corypheus wasn't talking in the old tongue either, and I feel like there are multiple reasons for why this just wouldn't work. And if we're looking for a lore reason, I guess even the imprisoned Evanuris had somehow enough access to people's dreams over the course of thousand years to learn the languages of present Thedas as much as Solas or any other ancient elf like Abelas or Felassan did, but it's still funny to me nonetheless. lol)

Anyway, the teaser ends with a dragon's growling sound and then another wolf howling in the back, which I interpreted as Solas giving Elgar'nan a fair warning here that he's indeed still the title-giving DAD character. lol If we get to see these guys battling it out for real, like Giant Demon Wolf vs Black City Sized Blighted Dragon, it's already the best game in my book. lol

You just know someone at BioWare is having a blast at coming up with as many references to Solas' Trespasser dialogue to put in these blog posts as possible. 😂 I just hope they can keep this promise, cuz I have a LOT of questions (and I need Solas to answer ALL of them lol).

Hmmm... You "hope so", yes? Well, after *this* teaser I sure *hope* that the sentiment of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" still holds true in this particular situation, because I'd rather still be on Team Solas if I have to choose between "revelation" and "damnation". 👀

I guess we'll see next summer... 😁

Prologue

The whip cracks with a harsh tone, splitting the silence that hangs heavy in the darkness. The man beside him begins to chant; it's apathetic and cold, the words unintelligible to the man who kneels in front of the preacher. 

Dain cannot make out the place that surrounds him, as it hurts too much to open his eyes. But he can feel the floor beneath him; freezing, rigid stone cruel against his aching knees, vibrant pain shooting down his shins and up the muscles in his thighs. His hands are held up above his head in shackles that pull him apart; they have been held up for so long he can no longer feel his fingers and a humming numbness buzzes through his arms, setting at the junctions of his shoulders.  He dare not move, he does not know if he even could.

The flail hits his back and the words the preacher mutter stumbles along a crescendo; he fumbles at his pronunciation, but he does not bother to correct himself. The prayer no longer matters, it stopped holding its meaning many years ago when discipline became twisted pleasure. 

Through spotted vision, Dain takes in what details he can of the man who punishes him for crimes he did not commit. The preacher wears a robe that was, at some point in its life white, the cotton now beginning to stain grey along the seams and hemming as the grime begins to cling harder at the fabric, burying itself like an infestation. It is adorned with a symbol he does not recognise, but it resembles a brilliant, blooming sun (his blood now blemishes the saffron yellow and some part of him believes it to be ironic). Draped over his shoulders are heavy gold chains, coming together to meet the same symbol cast in metal.

Dain burns the blazing sun into his mind, cursing the image in what few languages he remembers.

Dain tastes iron and smoke on his tongue when he coughs. The fractured glass beneath his fingertips threatens to pierce his skin if he is not careful, so he lifts himself slowly, mindful of the pounding in his head, settling contently behind his left eye. His body is aching deep within his bones, muscles stiff, sore and unused. Standing upright on his own two feet grants a pained relief - when he stretches he feels unknown tendons spasm and cramp. 

The ground beneath him feels solid yet moving; it is an odd sensation as if being carried. The rumble of something mechanical, the harsh shudder and swerving of quivering wind. Dain is moving all while staying still. A vessel of some sort?

It takes a moment for his hazy vision to focus and what greets him is the dilapidated hull of unfamiliar surroundings. Unbothered fires burn in the edges of the room, flicking and stroking against the wine-coloured, foreign metal that makes up the walls and fixtures. 

He feels as if he should be panicking; not many would find themselves in a burning room, potentially burning ship, and remain as calm as a fox within its den. However, the fire is (currently) not spreading and the walls are yet to collapse on top of him. Maybe then he’ll run and scream.

What truly worries him is the loss he feels. The untargeted rage and hurt. He searches his mind yet all he feels is a strange sense of regret amidst the fog of his memories. Dain forages and scrambles through a kaleidoscope of images and fragments, unable to piece them in a way which makes any sense. A flash of dark eyes, streaks of red, a flutter of wings, twisted black and a bold sun. The throbbing behind his eye intensifies and he feels his stomach begin to turn with nausea.

He retracts himself from his own mind with a shudder, cold regret seeping through his chest until it stabs at his heart.

‘A second chance, my child. For the both of us.’

“Post Prom” - Teaser

The stars had never shone as brightly as they did that night.

You couldn’t stop staring at them as you walked out of the banquet hall with Eddie by your side, with his suit jacket draped over your bare shoulders, feeling more and more like it was always meant to be there.

“This looks better on you anyway,” Eddie said as he offered it to you. “Just don’t get it dirty, ‘kay, or else Wayne’ll kill me. It’s his one good suit.”

“I’ll guard it with my life,” you promised, only half joking.

And while you thought about this, while you traced your thumb along the silk lining of Wayne Munson’s one good suit jacket, while you walked and talked and stole glimpses of Eddie’s face when he wasn't looking, you couldn’t help but smile and think to yourself,

I’m in a dream, aren’t I?

Yeah, you had to be. The stars were far too bright, and the night too calm. Cars drove up and down the road and passed by without a sound. In the wet, wet grass, crickets chirped and a single sprinkler was still sputtering with life, hissing in the dark with a quiet shhhh-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick. You could hear it so clearly as you and Eddie strolled down the covered footpath together, your shadows illuminated by the soft orange glow of the street lights overhead. Eddie had a ring of keys in his right hand. They jingled as he tossed them up, caught them, and twirled them around his index finger.

I’m in a dream, you thought, and tomorrow morning I’m gonna wake up in my bedroom, alone, with that dusty old journal sprawled open in front of me.

And this made you withdraw into yourself and go silent for a minute. Your steps got slower and slower. Your arms crossed over your body like a shield. Your smile slipped and collapsed into a troubled frown that deepened the further you got from the banquet hall. Eddie glanced over his shoulder, saw you falling behind, then slid his keys back into his pocket.

“Buyer’s remorse?” he said with a chuckle, but there was no humor in his voice, none at all. Then he turned and stepped in front of you, blocking your path with his body. “Hey, y’know we don’t have to go anywhere, right? I mean, we can always go back inside or… or I can just take you home, if you want.”

Eddie muttered the last part under his breath, wincing as he did. His dark brown eyes pierced into yours, nervous and a little afraid, afraid that if he said goodbye to you right now, if he took you home, kissed you goodnight, and watched you walk through that front door, there was a small chance he might never see you again.

And you supposed that was partly your fault, so you put your hand on his chest and gave him a reassuring smile.

“No, that’s not it,” you said. “I was just thinking.”

Eddie raised his eyebrows at you. “You were just thinking?”

“Yeah," you said. "Yeah, I was just thinking…”

If this really is a dream, please, please, please don’t wake me up.

but before i go looking in the tags, let’s talk about my latest gifsets!

what a worker bee i was both yesterday and today with prodigal son AND loki <3 never have i created so many gifs in a short amount of time it’s a damn miracle that my photoshop didn’t straight up cough up blood and keel over. alas, us bitches are stronger than that! if this post gets flagged because of the scenes i included....that would just mean that i made the right decision to exclude those scenes ajsdksajkldsa

when the episode finally downloaded, i took a peek at the ending before it aired to see how it all ends (just in case it doesn’t get renewed </3). GOSH, was i just in a TIZZY when i saw this happen and i couldn’t tell my dad what i saw because we were straight up watching the show as it aired. anyways, keeping my secret knowledge, i got to work on making this gifset. i missed a huge chunk of the episode bc it took me over TWO hours to make the six gif set. i was really torn on the “artistic” approach aka which scene to gif and which to leave out. because i saw the ending before anything else, i couldn’t play it out loud and i didn’t have my headphones to listen so i was like FREE FORMING THE SUBTITLES. plus the captions weren’t synced up so it was really hard to decipher what was being said :( 

i really thought i would be able to create the set before 9 but i was running into unforeseen issues such as the subtitle problem, which on top of that, like i said earlier, my photoshop is c/racked and janky so....you catch my drift. i was actually going to gif the bisexual moment in the cafe which i think would’ve been MUCH easier but i jumped the gun and wanted to make the gifs of the shocking ending. funny part about that is the shocking part wasn’t even included in my set (malcolm driving the knife into martin) because i felt like the scene was too short...anyways, let’s talk about the positives:

i really do like the coloring of this one. i used a psd that i’ve used before and luckily it’s meant for outdoor scenes with greenery so the gif really popped. sharpening, buddy ole pal, love you sm. the caption was kinda last minute but i hoped to save it with the gradient. cropping was a bitch because for some reason, it takes forever when you’ve made multiple gifs beforehand (cache innit) pero we pulled through! i actually started not saving the psd files to try and save time which is very unusual for me pero i was getting frustrated with photoshop so i was like y’know what....so i just gave up entirely and stopped saving. i do save when i’m taking my time but jeez, it’s a bad habit. i like saving the psd file because i never know if there is a mistake i missed in post and when i go to publish it, it’s blatant and it needs to be fixed. please, save your psd files idc if it takes up space u can just delete them later. IT HELPS !! TRUST ME!!

first & “last” appearance

i actually premade gifs for this gifset! unfortunately, i didn’t realize that three of the five gifs were the wrong size (pictured above) because i flipped the ratio. instead of 268 x 250, i made them 250 x 268. i don’t know HOW i managed to fuck that up but luckily i saved the psd files (wink, wink) so the coloring was still intact. i think i had to restart photoshop or it was getting too late so i picked it back up in the morning. sucks that i had to remake the entire gif from scratch but we will take some wins xx

coloring is the same with the previous gifset (listen....it’s a good coloring) and i actually did have an alternative coloring that was very warm pero i didn’t end up using it. almost melted the two with the “last” appearance of gil but ultimately didn’t go through with it. also i was thinking of using baby malcolm as the first appearance because technically, that IS his first appearance in the show but i was like...just use adult malcolm lol. also i know that scene of dani isn’t the “first” but the first scene she has goes really quick and she is planked by gil so there isn’t much of a solo (even though this scene isn’t much of a solo either pero it’s better than the former). the lighting is weird in this episode and my coloring tried their best :/ i know gifmakers make each gif a diff coloring pero i’m lazy okay and looking to be time effiencent. another slight tangent is that i actually queued the post for the morning but since i woke up to a storm, i was like, i’m here so i’ll publish it myself.

other than that...i didn’t run into any other problem. i was actually hesitant to make the caption that because i wasn’t sure how to really describe the team. i have poor memory so if there was ever an official name, i do not remember it. i did a quick google search pero it turned up nothing. i stuck with “dream team” because, well, that’s what they are. plus i didn’t want to tarnish the gifset with any mentions of p/olice (i was thinking about putting sumn along the lines of ‘the nypd team’) so DREAM TEAM IT IS because it’s true! you cannot have the show without these five! also, i should’ve used quotations on “last” because there is a bunch of talk about a renewal pero...just in case... sorry y’all :/

odinson brothers parallels

this was made in the spur of the moment. i saw that the teaser trailer with shirtless loki dropped in hd, i came A-RUNNING! it was posted like 47 minutes after the fact and i was like...somebody probably already made a gifset of the scene so i was like...gosh, to make the gifset or not all the while i was trying to download the video. trying because again, this was in the middle of a storm so my wifi was acting up and wasn’t at its strongest (whatever that may be). so i was getting frustrated because neither cc nor 4kdownloader was downloading this small one minute clip. that’s when i knew i was gonna be too late to make the loki gifset so i was like whatever ig...

then i had an idea.

i love parallels so luckily it hit me that this paralleled with thor and how his hair got chopped off. so, i knew i had ragnarok downloaded and got to work <3 wasn’t sure what dimensions to use so i went with 268 x 268 to make perfect squares. because the loki scene was short, i could only make three so i was like..okay, i can work with this. three for loki, three for thor, they’re brothers and they share! i wasn’t planning to add subtitles but i had written them down for the plain gifset so i was like alright, we’re going all in. i didn’t take that long to make since again, they’re small gifs and i did have a coloring in mind that i always use for ragnarok (it’s my fave for non-marvel edits as well). there was a slight adjustment to the final loki gif because i realized the gif had that dark fade into the scene which i didn’t know if it was an artistic choice for the show itself or was added for the trailer only (it happens when companies cut a bunch of scenes together and it’s not at all how it actually plays out). i didn’t want to take any chances so i cut those parts out. i know the gifs are short on the loki side pero...that’s just how it is in show business.

TW Theory

Hey people. So, it’s almost the new year, and hopefully, we’ll get news that Twisted Wonderland will be released sometime in January or February. Until then, something has piqued my interest. And hopefully yours?

So I was on Twitter, and I came across a post on our Seven Leaders. And it had me thinking....

As we remember from the teaser trailer, we got a look at The Mirror room, with seven coffins and Malleus rising from one of them.

We already know that these seven coffins equalize the Seven Dorm Masters that’ll appear in the game.

Then, in August, we were introduced to the PV song “Piece of my World”, where our seven masters have made their debut all together, as depicted in this final picture.

But look closer. In between the coffins, and barely visible in the background. Or for further examination, look in the inky puddle’s reflection.

There are more coffins!

Could it be possible that there’s more to the lore than we believe? What if the “No Four-years” mystery isn’t the only one we’re gonna uncover in the game? Is there a possibility that there were more villains than the Great Seven introduced? That they, too, led dorm houses at Night Raven, or were regular students there, before a dark tragedy occured, resulting in only seven surviving? Or were the other villains, perhaps, too dangerous and were sealed away, and they’re breaking out of the curse they were trapped in, seeking revenge? Maybe we’ll have a role to play with them when they’re reawakened?

Again this is all just a theory. Not really important to y’all reading this...maybe, probably, most likely. But if you care to talk about this, leave comments or follow for more possible theories. Besides, We’ve still time until the release date drops...

The Awakening Theory

This was back in 2015 I think, when we first heard news about KH3. As seen in that small teaser Sora picked up the Master Defender on the beach of Destiny Islands. We all know who's Keyblade this is.

Papa Eraqus RIP the realest Keyblade Master

So if you remember at the end of Birth by Sleep for Aqua's story, she hid Ven's comatose body in the Land of Departure. Master Eraqus told her after she passed her Mark of Mastery that this land could be protected from any outside danger. And he told her how it could be. So she used her Master's Defender to transform the destroyed Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion and hid Ven in there.

What if...What if Aqua knew her fate wouldn't end well in the Realm of Darkness? What if she knew something bad was gonna happen to her? Something like...

We also notice from the trailer that she picks up a Keyblade, and it's heavily implied she will use that Keyblade too.

What if...What if she sent out the Master Defender out from the Dark Margin in the water? She hoped that someone would find it. We know that objects can be carried through realms for example Kairi's letter which reached Sora from Destiny Islands to the Dark Margin. So why not the other way round?

Maybe Aqua indirectly entrusted the responsibility of finding and awakening Ventus to Sora. Maybe she had a hunch about her fate and knew that Xehanort would be after Ventus again. So she had to do something because she knew she would be doomed but she had to ensure Ventus was safe from Xehanort. If this theory does come true, it would show how intelligent and logical Aqua is especially whilst knowing that her fate won't end well in the Realm of Darkness.

In 2014, NJPW released a few short documentaries on World, before Wrestle Kingdom 9.  They were all released in versions with and without english subtitles; this is my transcription of the english subtitles on part one of Hiroshi Tanahashi’s.  I’ve done this before with plain screencaps interspersed but I wanted to redo it with .gifs, ‘cos I really love these little videos, and ‘cos I can now, and also, just ‘cos.  :)

Caption: New Japan Pro Wrestling holds over  130 events a year.  He posts about NJPW  whenever he gets a spare moment.

HT: “I asked for this situation.  Nobody asked  me.  I just wanted to liven pro wrestling up.   You may think it’s livened up now, but I  still don’t see the top of the mountain.   Even if it’s going well right now, I won’t  cease my efforts.  I must keep going.  As I  continue promoting, I’ve been blessed with  various offers.  I just feel grateful and  happy seeing people exited about and craving  pro wrestling.  Nothing makes me happier.”

(the footage switches to a DVD release event  at Tower Records; Tana makes his way through the crowd to a small stage and immediately poses for pictures, which makes me laugh every time, then joins Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Togi Makabe, and two gentlemen I don’t  recognize for the event talk.  The Blonde One is chatting with  Tana, I’m gonna represent his dialogue with  “TBO” until I know otherwise.  I think here that they’re talking about a recent event in which Tana himself was supposed to perform but decided against it and so Tana’s remarks are self-deprecating, the whole context is a little unclear but that’s my best guess, because he looks a bit sheepish lol)

TBO: “How was part Three?”

HT: “The venue was Namba Grand Kagetsu, a holy  place for comedians in Osaka.  In addition to  young comedians, many big-name comedians  appear there.”

TBO: “That’s right.”

HT: “I was overwhelmed.”  

TBO: “Though the young comedians performed  freely…a legendary comedian was unable to  perform.

HT: “So the roles were reversed.”

TBO: “He was too nervous.”

(we switch back to outside, where Tana is  fiddling with his phone)

Caption: Tanahashi keeps the world posted.   Even while filming, he writes on his blog as always.

HT: “I’m posting on my blog.  I like writing.”  

Staff/Interviewer:  “Have you gotten used to your  smartphone?”

HT:  “Not yet.”

Staff/Interviewer: “How long have you been using it?”

HT: “About a week.”

Staff/Interviewer: “How do you like it?”

HT:  “It’s super handy.”

Caption: He used to stick to a flip phone

HT: “The other day, I went to the office and  boasted ‘I can type so fast.’  And an  assistant said, ‘You’re three years behind.’  (laughs)”

Staff/Interviewer:  “What made you finally get one?”

HT:  “One reason was that my old flip phone was  worn out.  Also, my jobs were hindered  because I couldn’t open attachments.”

Staff/Interviewer: “Your jobs as a writer?”

HT:  “Yeah, but this is really fast.”

(Tana sits down with Koji Uno, an editor with  R25 magazine.  They greet and introduce one  another, then sit down.  

HT:  “This is our second time, right?”

KU:  “Yes.”

KU: “I wanted to feature you in our magazine  after I read your book.  I felt the title was  like a business book, and it was actually  very interesting.”

HT:  “Thank you.”

HT (in voiceover, again from outside):  “It’s a  great non-fiction book.  A positive side- effect of the book is that it reached a new  audience for pro wrestling.  Also thanks to  the book, major mass media outlets,  newspapers, and business websites began to  interview me.  So I’m glad it got published.”

(back inside, where Uno is taking notes as  Tana speaks)

HT:  “Well, I like novels.  When I was in high  school, I was into Yasuo Uchida’s Mitsuhiko Asami series.  Asami pilots the Soarer.  He  isn’t married and he’s laid-back…”

(outside in the rain again)

Caption:  Tanahashi is delighted to have a  hectic work schedule.  Is it because he  endured the hard period dubbed the ‘Dark  days’?

HT: “Looking back, it wasn’t tough at all  because everything was rewarding.  I promoted  pro wrestling and more people came to enjoy  it.  I really love it when they say, ‘It was fun!’  People tend to compare the dark days  with the current situation, but my activities  never changed and will never change.”

Caption: November 15th, Shosen Book Tower  Akihabara.  His 15th anniversary DVD release  party will be held on this day.  30 minutes  before the event, what is drawing his focus?

Staff/Interviewer: “Is that for relaxation during  long tours?”

HT: “I enjoy this during tours.  Since I don’t  have time to go out, I automatically save  money.  (he looks a bit sheepish)  Sometimes  I play too much, and it affects my health. (laughs)”

Caption: 10 minutes before the event, the  meeting finally begins.

(Another white room, with three people  inside.  One has a lanyard on, one is at a  table with a pen, and Tana is seated before a  mirror with a flatiron, fiddling with his  bangs.  They’re going over itinerary for the  event)

Staff: “Then the selected match…”

Caption: The DVD includes Famous Tanahashi  Quotes.

Staff: “’Tanahashi that doesn’t fly is just a  good-looking guy.’”

(Tana starts laughing)

HT:  “Is that on there?”

Staff:  “Yes.”

HT: “When did I say that? (still laughing)”

Staff: “Before your match with Kojima-san”

HT (recalling):  “Right, I couldn’t do my High Fly because of my knee injury.”

Staff: “You were wearing the black shorts.”  

HT (repeating it to himself): “’A Tanahashi  that doesn’t fly is just a good-looking guy.’   I’m still good-looking.  (laughs)”

Staff:  “And still boasting.”

(A quick-cut.  Tana is still backstage, every  time we make a cut he’s got less buttons done up on his shirt.  His whole undershirt has vanished.  He’s taking a huge bite out  of some kind of pastry; it has a fish design  on the top)

HT (noticing the camera): “Ah!”

HT:  “Yum.  I was trying to sneak this, but you  caught me.  (laughs)”

Staff:  “You shouldn’t eat that.  Maybe just a bite.”

HT (laughing a little, to someone else in the room rather than responding to her):  “The event starts in two minutes.”

(Tana laughs and takes another huge bite.   With his mouth full, he says “Yummy!”  Staff  are scurrying around)

Staff: “Did you eat lunch?”

HT:  “Yes I did.  A fan gave me these when I came in. (he indicates a white box with two  other …fish pastry things..inside)  So good!”

Staff:  “Are you ready?”

HT (dramatically): “It’s time.”

Staff: “This way.”

HT: “Okay.”

Caption: To the venue where his fans await

(Tana walks through dimly-lit hallways, there  are boxes piled up everywhere.  We see the  emcee of the event welcoming fans.  There are  over a hundred in attendance.  As we cut back  to the other room, Tana’s music starts  playing out in the venue.  Tana’s buttons are now entirely undone.)

Caption: Backstage, for some reason he bares  his chest.

Caption: Then, something unexpected happens…

HT:  “Hey!  For real??”

(the fans have started singing “Happy  Birthday”; Tana’s birthday was two days after  this was filmed.  Tana looks like a kid at christmas, and claps along with the song a little bit.  Everyone yells happy birthday.   There’s an explosion of giggles as soon as everyone can see him with his inexplicably undone buttons.  The emcee, Haruo Murata,  greets Tana)

HM: “As you can see, we started with a  birthday surprise.”

HT (grinning but also blushing like an anime  character):  “Look at me.  How embarrassing…I  was supposed to make you laugh!  Thank you.”

HM:  “And here’s a cake for you.”

(The little vanilla-frosting cake has 1/100  on top)

HT:  “Ah, my nickname.”

(another explosion of giggles.  Tana picks  the cake up and holds it for a second.  “One  blow” he pledges, and blows his candles out.   Everybody yells happy birthday again, and  Tana thanks them.)

HM:  “This is a great photo opportunity.”

HT (sheepishly):  “Let me do up my buttons.”

(the event begins in earnest; Tana turns up  the charm and starts chatting with Murata,  and telling stories)

HT:  “It’s been 43 years since NJPW was  founded…and 60 years since pro wrestling  began, which means a better wrestler than me  won’t appear for another 40 years.”

HT:  “I think it was 2007 when I became the G1  winner, and I was wearing black shorts…a  reporter from TV Asahi asked me why I was  wearing them, I answered, ‘Because it’s sexy.   Shorts are sexier.’  (to the audience) But  that’s not what fans want, right?”

HM:  “How did the reporter react?”

HT (laughing):  “I don’t remember.  Maybe like  ‘Ok..?’  I used to bother them a lot.”

(quick cut to the photo op portion of the  event.  People keep bringing him birthday  presents, and giggling.  He chats a little with everybody and takes pictures with them.   A little tiny girl gives him a present and  declares “He’s a prince!” before he picks her  up for a photo; her mother carefully places  electric pink birthday sunglasses on Tana’s  head for the picture)

Caption: He keeps a hectic pace to please his  fans.  He says he owes all that to his  family’s support.

(we’re outside again, with Tana in the rain)

Caption: Gratitude to his family

HT:  “I’m always out for training, promotion,  and matches.  The only thing I can do is try  to make the most of the time when I can be  with my family.  I feel bad for making my  wife and kids miss me.  My wife always  prepares me well-balanced meals…and my kids  always give me a big welcome yelling ‘Dad!’  when I return from tours.  I’m so lucky to  have them.”

(nightfall, after the event.  Tana exits a  back gate but as soon as he’s visible,  there’s shrieking from the street.  Tana says  “Whoa.”)

Caption: Tanahashi willingly grants fans requests right until he leaves.

(there’s a little crowd of mostly-girls  looking for autographs.  One of them yells  “Take me home with you!”  “Takeout?” Tana  jokes in response.  He chats with everybody even as he’s actually in the back of his taxi)

Caption: Because NJPW is currently riding a  wave of prosperity

(Tana stands against a wall mural, with the  heavyweight title over his shoulder.  He’s  pontificating a little bit but also grinning because he knows it, and it’s practically self-parody at this point)

HT: “I think some wrestlers get carried away  with that.  But not me.  Still, someone needs  to watch our step…and keep an eye out for  the fans’ needs.  I have to anticipate their  slight emotional changes and cater the  performances to what they want.  Once it  becomes too routine, it won’t excite them.   The best part of pro wrestling is always  changing performances.  But don’t worry,  leave it to Tanahashi.”

Caption: Dreams

(as he’s talking, footage is playing featuring him with two of the kids who were at the event that day; probably siblings.  He picks them up, one in each arm, to pose for the picture)

HT:  “For the future of pro wrestling, I want  more kids to aspire to be pro wrestlers.  We  don’t have farm teams like baseball and  soccer do.  And baseball has the Major League  while soccer has role models like Honda and  Kagawa.  Kids can aspire and work towards  being like them.  I want to show kids that  being a pro wrestler is something they can  also aspire to be.  To make that happen, I  must rise up and show them what it can be  like and hopefully more kids will dream of  becoming pro wrestlers.  Perhaps, they’ll  play pro wrestling at schools.  I vaguely  imagine such a vision of the future. image”

Caption: What is pro wrestling to you?

(The sun has come out.  Tana is in full Inspiration Mode, talking right to the camera.  I’m not gonna lie to you, Tana in Inspiration Mode is powerful stuff, and if he told me to go fight a bear in that confident you-got-this voice, I’d believe him)

HT:  “Pro wrestling is my way of life.  I don’t  feel right saying ‘It is my life’ as my life  will go on even after quitting pro wrestling.   In pro wrestling there are good times and  bad times.  If I endure hardships, then  golden opportunities come.  Then I  counterattack and seize them.  So what I do  in pro wrestling and in my life are closely  linked.  It has taught me so many valuable  lessons.  When people ask me this question, I  always answer, ‘It’s my way of life.’”
