Okay, so I honestly thought that I'd lose followers for continuing to ship KaiShin which would be understandable and I wouldn't blame anyone for doing so but I've been getting notifications that I've gained a few more followers? Both on tumblr and twitter. I'm grateful, I truly am, and I thank you for wanting to stick around and go along with me on this crazy ride

Also, while appreciated, no need for condolences. I won't speak for other KaiShin shippers, but KaiShin has been one of my OTPs since 2004/2005 and after 20 years of shipping them, this will NOT stop me.

Shimegami-chan's fic from fanfiction.net was one of my 1st KaiShin fics I've read. And then there's yukuro's Fall of the Moon, a fic also from fanfiction.net that has been one of my faves since frickin 2006 (which I still remember the name of the fic title without actually checking my bookmarks which says a lot to how much I've loved this fic)

I can say that I'll continue on shipping them out of spite or pettiness and maybe there'll be times when I'll do just that. But honestly? I hope it'll always be out of love for KaiShin

And i hope that i can be a fan that'll always love KaiShin more than I hate aspects of what's happened in canon. I truly do hope for that

It's okay to like a problematic character and it's okay to like a ship, the problem starts when people justify such problematic characteristics to make them "acceptable", like justifying Neji's treatment at the hands of the Main Family because he was "mean" to Hinata, despite him warning her about fighting him and asking her to forfeit multiple times.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but Hinata chose a side. Ignoring the matter or not giving it the relevance that it has even after her cousin's speech during their match or his match vs. Naruto, is to actively support the system in place; she might truly believe that is for the "greater good," as so his Konoha's mantra, but it doesn't change the fact that she agrees with the practice.

I don't see her as a good person for the reasons mentioned above, no good person sees her uncle being tortured and her cousin being enslaved and believes to be the bigger victim in their dynamic. Furthermore, she did pretty much nothing for anyone who wasn't Naruto; being shy and quiet is not the same as being a good person; she never mentioned being kind-spirited and thus, unable to be a shinobi (like Chöji, which was a full small arc of his character when fighting the Sound Four), but rather, weak.

I understand your wish for Hiashi to die, but Neji succumbing to his fate put an end to the "Hyuga's conundrum" as that's an issue that involves Konoha in itself and not addressing it in Boruto would've been a major problem; furthermore, the problem wasn't just about stopping the Main Family from creating slaves but also them giving reparations to those they enslaved, like Neji. His death was also used to give Hinata a "moment" with Naruto.

She can't, not just because she's weak (Shikamaru doesn't shine because he's particularly strong, he isn't), but also because she often puts her wishes above the safety of those under her command (Koü Hyüga) and can't come up with a basic strategy to fight her opponents. She perhaps modeled her attack pattern following Naruto's (who mostly attacks before coming up with a strategy, as he often relies on overwhelming his enemies), as she often states to look up to him and has spied on him multiple times, but he's far more strong and has much more chakra (plus healing chakra) than her.

I'm not sure Jiraiya knew much about sealing techniques (we only see him erasing Orochimaru's seal), Minato learned from Kushina and not him. Tsunade is likely far more versed on the matter and she never even attempted to take Neji's seal off, so that's where the village stands on the matter.

I adore writing romantical threads, fluff, friends to lovers, enemies to lovers with the right writing partner, little bit of angst -not too much. It's lovely when things happen between muses organically but I'm not opposed to pre-plotted ship scenarios but that depends entirely upon the rapport between me and my writing partner.

I prefer to have a good ooc banter with a partner I'd be down to ship with, it is more comfortable that way and the open line of communication is valuable to have.

IF I am shipping with you/yr muse YOU are not 'bothering me' when you send asks, Dm's, brain dumps about the ship. Or even just chit-chatting about it and proposing what IF situations.

The Little Giant/Tenma thing is definitely one of my favourite plot twists in the manga as well, I never thought we'd actually get to see him + Akaashi ending up as his editor in the timeskip was a wild coincidence! Hinata going to Brazil was a huge surprise as well, and also Oikawa becoming an Argentine citizen and facing all his rivals on the highest stage @ the Olympics was so unexpected and iconic and made me a bit crazy ngl 😵‍💫

3x11 “su’kal”

acting. captain. tilly.

i know osyraa takes the ship from her (and is pretty hot in the process, ngl), but the way she holds her own in their first few confrontations was pretty badass. and i love, love, loved michael’s pep talk to her and everyone being so completely behind her.

this episode starts a three-episode arc that wraps up all of the season’s plot lines in a satisfying way while also just being an extremely well-structured story as its own entity. saru, michael, and culber go on a rather unique away team mission with a ticking clock. by the end of the episode, the away team is actually saru, culber, and adira after book swoops in to bring michael back to discovery and adira stows away because they’re a badass.

this episode is definitely more about setting the stage for the last two episodes of the season, whereas those episodes are more about all kinds of shit happening omg, but it still manages to be a damn good episode in its own right. a-rank

3x12 “there is a tide…”

michael burnham IN space die hard.

also, admiral vance and osyraa’s negotiations are badass. the conflict between the emerald chain and the federation is made explicit when osyraa actually says the word “capitalism” out loud. vance and the federation are actually totally interested in peace with the chain as long as osyraa steps down and faces justice for her many, many crimes.

acting captain tilly really, really shines when her crew stages a jailbreak. she’s just totally on top of everything, and issuing orders like she’s been doing it her whole life.

but, yeah. space die hard starring michael burnham is the main attraction here, and it totally works. and it’s fully justified by the narrative.

you guys, season 3 managed to do the same basic idea that drove me crazy in season 1 (michael burnham vs. the world), and make it actually good??? this is how you do an individual hero story. by making her part of something more, and not having that thing be an abstract idea that everyone around her should theoretically agree with. instead, you make her part of a family, and have her explicitly fighting for them.

even the heart-wrenching bit of storytelling where she sends an unwilling stamets off the ship for his own protection and he explicitly describes this as a betrayal while begging her not to contributes to this. it explicitly morally imperils burnham by attaching the stakes to her family.

it also shows her making a difficult command decision. the kind we’re told over and over, including by michael herself, that a captain needs to be able to make.

in a way, this was always where this was going. this whole show, i mean. it still surprised me the first time i saw it, i had just kind of come to accept the status quo of her being the central character of the story without being the captain. but looking back over the series as a whole leading up to this point… what else could it have been leading to?

the idea of michael having a command of her own is introduced in the very first episode of the series. it’s explicitly what phillipa was preparing her for. and this season has been all about michael’s growth, getting her to the point where she was really, truly ready for the center seat.

but to make this okay, we need something for saru that’s more important than the center seat. and he finds that in su’kal, the lonely, traumatized kelpian boy who caused the burn. it’s very sweet seeing saru patiently establish trust with him. despite the urgency of their situation, he knows not to push too hard too fast. it makes their bond feel extremely earned.

also also also, gray gets a (temporary, holographic) body!! and gets to meet hugh and they’re such a great family and hugh explicitly promises that they’ll find a way to bring gray back permanently and aaaaaaa.

so, uh, yeah. that wraps up… maybe the best single season of any star trek show… ever? it’s hard to say, because we’re talking about over 40 seasons. but… yeah. regardless, this one really stood out.

-> heisei generations forever (officially non-canon to the main timelines of both build and zi-o, though still a good enough homage to build's main story with a decent amount of ryusen) -> build new world: kr cross-z -> i heard the idol otaku is dating his fav special (basically just kazumi/misora nonsense from what i've heard, unfortunately) -> build new world: kr grease (i saw that you weren't keen on both new world movies as most build fans i know also weren't esp. bc of the het shenanigans (+ the weird evolt stuff that i've heard kinda feels like it's invalidating we already saw/learned in the main show, and it feels more like they just brought him back because they were milking his sheer popularity as a kr villain) that are apparently pretty typical of v-cine movies when compared to heavier gay coding in the main shows, sadly, so you can also take a page out of those other fans' book and not consider the nw movies canon or only cherrypicking the elements you like, but wrt the banjou stuff in cross-z specifically, i don't think him and yui are meant to be an unambiguously canon couple the way kazumi/misora and gentoku/sawa became in grease, as you can see a clear difference in how romantic both latter couples acted (even if i don't like both lmao, though i tolerate gentoku/sawa more than i do kazumi/misora simply bc i think g/s has funnier scenes than k/m, even with gentoku's unnecessary sexual proposition towards sawa in ep. 1 back when he was evil) vs. b/y, and also just the way banjou treated kasumi, his only 100% clearly canon girlfriend, vs. how he treated yui up to the end of the movie, and the girlfriend/date/best match comments in the movies seem to feel more like just jokes/trolling in hindsight (esp. since the b/y "date" at the end was literally just them selling stuff *sento* made, like something something sento is always somehow involved with banjou and his girlfriends, or 'girlfriend' in yui's case, so... lol. anyway), and also banjou appears to blatantly check out a shirtless killbas before they find out about him being the villain so ig the bi-coding was technically still going strong, plus the fact that yui just straight up disappears in grease which is supposed to be a direct sequel to cross-z and just isn't mentioned in any way (on which i have some bts info to spill btw, more on that in my next message) while sento and banjou continue to act like partners as usual, and in fact get paired up in a way that sets them alongside the pairing up of k/m and g/s in the same movie - so tl;dr: aside from the fact that we can just straight up ignore those movies, i don't think we have to worry about the yui stuff as a genuine invalidation of ryusen's romantic subtext-that's-practically-text, though it's still unfortunate they tried to pull this shit in the first place even if ultimately very half-assed and halfhearted, and you just kinda have to laugh at the audacity of doing all that *after* banjou made his little speech about sento being his hero, like you said)

-> kr jeanne and kr aguilera with girls remix (a revice spin-off included here on a technicality bc of sawa's presence, along with female characters from a few other kr seasons both in the heisei and reiwa eras alongside the titular female riders who i think i've told you before are the first major example of a lesbian-coded pairing in kr, though iirc they sadly also get hit with some plausible-deniability "they're like family/sisters" comments here though not really in the main show) -> kr outsiders (basically fanservice cash-grab slop from what i've been told that essentially is a suicide squad-esque project where various villains/evil riders from different seasons are assembled to battle a bigger bad guy, and evolt and misora are there in like a couple of episodes so 😔) [4/?]

as for the stuff ive watched, i finished the main eps first and then went for basically everything i could find that i knew had the build charas/story involved, so the only stuff from everything u mentioned that im missing are the 4 eps from zi-o, the revice spinoff, outsiders and the stageshows. i was thinking of leaving the crossover movies for later at first but then i also didnt wanna wait for if/when i watch ex-aid or zi-o so i just went for them (esp since u mentioned banjou chara development for one of them which i was Rlly curious about) and i enjoyed both, non-canon as they might be akfjdksf.. i think ill check out those zi-o eps but i probs wont watch the whole show (yet at least)

but yeah it rlly was a rollercoaster holy shit that entire final arc in the show was fucked up and evil?? in the best way possible??? i was crying literally the entire last three eps help ... the silly little rabbit w a death wish was too real...... i def saw what u meant by the end bit being weaker but honestly it didnt feel too bad to me, it probably wouldve been better executed if they had more eps to work w (which ik are strictly consistent for every season) + those actors that werent able to film, but i feel like for what they had to work with they did a rlly good job bc i was still hooked and Invested(tm)

also the rogue spinoff like i went in already liking gentokus chara a Lot after seeing the whole story so i was biased but i think they showed his desperation and spiral into insanity (? if it makes sense) rlly well there, it was def a lot more brutal but somehow i ended up liking the fight scenes in there more than the main story ones maybe bc they didnt have much of the cgi? either way it was a good insight into gentokus past/chara (and a little bit of takumis too who i always like seeing) and now i can Genuinely put him in the 'poor little meow meow who killed people' box so yay :) my silly shirt man i care him :)

then theres the new world movies which.....sigh......... Yeah............ those sure were movies ......... the comphet honestly didnt even bother me that much bc im so used to ignoring when writers pull shit like that (tho the whole banjou/yui thing did give me a fic idea in a way that i started outlining afkjdksgj) but the way they just undid the entire logic of the new world with the point of it being that its entire existence is only possible w evolt and the pandora box no longer existing is just. LMAOO i’ve been going to the gym for a while but i never lift heavy enough to get swole i will leave that for my bfs 🤩 i start off on the treadmill for anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on what i’m doing…if it’s an answering asks on the treadmill kind of day i’ll go at the 6 incline at a 2.5-3mph pace until i’m done clearing my inbox (usually 30ish mins plus or minus 5) and if it’s a day when i just want to be in and out i do a 15 incline at a 3mph pace for 10-15 mins!! after that i lift weights but nothing crazy/above 50lbs 😭 i’m not trying to be jacked so i’m not trying really hard to hit a PR as long as i feel like i worked out!! some of my fav exercises w weights are squats, romanian deadlifts, and the lateral pull-down machine!! after lifting i’ll do yoga to stretch out the muscles i used that day 😄 i go to the gym like twice a week and then horse riding once a week so i work out in a dedicated way only 3x per week and the rest of my steps come from walking around in general HAHA

I have done this in the form of the crackerbarrel posting but as far as non mostly a shitpost aus go I've been seriously considering a cracked out idea that is, combining the lore for fire force and g gundam and making some fucked up combo world where 90% of the events of each stay the same.

Idk why, maybe it's youtube, but I just seem to verge on Ted/Robin videos...and idk why because I don't ship them endgame.

Don't get me wrong. I actually really love them, and I love the story centering around them but I always had the impression that it was a story of Ted moving on from Robin and finding someone who...wants the same things as him or is willing to go and work with what he wants along with theirs, kind of like the compromise relationship that Marshall and Lily has...which I think is how a relationship should be. It's unrealistic to expect a couple to wanting the same things though Ted and Tracy seem to come very close to that with how similar they.

Much like Robin, Lily never truly wanted to get married or be a mother and even admits sometimes she wishes she wasn't and she hates herself for it. But with Marshall, it's like all those things were okay and not so daunting and I think that's what makes them great and why I am okay with Lily and Marshall as opposed to Robin/Ted because Robin continues to push against marriage and kids. It's clear this is a firm NO. And I love that! I love that Robin is like this. I love that she's a career-first woman but because of that, she and Ted wouldn't work because Ted wants a wife and a mother and Robin cannot be those things that he wants her to be.

So I love their love story and I loved how it seemed to have been about letting go of Robin to finally find Tracy. I think the ending through off so many people because the story was about "How I Met Your Mother", that was what the audience was expecting so it threw everyone off when in the end the twist was, "This isn't really a story about how you met mom, but how you're still in love with Aunt Robin" like what? This is yeah it's clear Ted has had affections for Robin but...idk I guess it just threw me off

Especially with how much of the latter seasons from S3 or 4 and onwards was centered on Robin and Barney and they really did seem perfect for each other...but there was ngl some red flags. Like how Barney kinda manipulated and made Robin crazy to finally propose to her and I was shocked that she said yes. To me, that didn't make sense. I would've been angry if my ex who I still have feelings for was deliberately making me jealous all along just to finally propose to me. It's like...does Barney not know how to conduct a relationship without manipulation?

I'm not saying this to diminish the Barney/Robin relationship. There is something there and to me they do seem perfect. I think they understand each other much more deeply due to similar parental abandonment issues, mainly daddy issues. And they're able to have fun. Not that Robin doesn't have fun with Ted, but it's more like Ted's a nice guy and the perfect boyfriend, but with Barney, you see Robin and him having fun and being bros. There's an equal dynamic there...but there was some stuff about Barney that needed development, like problematic stuff that in some ways I think Robin helps making him a better person...like how for once he rejected a date and sex and gave his weekend getaway carriage ride to Robin, or all the other times he was willing to be vulnerable for Robin.

So it kinda pisses me off that the proposal was the way it was...it showcases Barney didn't change and that he still resorts to manipulation even if this was the last act in the book of schemes he had to get women laid...

or perhaps this was... a symbol for Robin, him being vulnerable again, telling her that she's the one he'll marry and have sex with his entire life. That this isn't just about getting laid...

In any case, Robin's work is revealed to be the reason why they divorced...

So if her work gets in the way of her relationship with Ted, and her relationship with Barney.

Why not just keep her single in the end?

I feel like that would've been more powerful then Ted trying again with Robin the billionth and ten times.

Alice and Robin for character opinion bingo!

I put blue for Alice and green for Robin since it matches their eye colors and the characters’ themes. I love these characters so much as they are flawed but strong women that both love each other deeply to the point where they’re awkward and don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings! Both blorbos in their own respects XD. NGL, I tend to project some of myself or feelings in the moment onto them when writing fanfics or when it comes to a situation they’d probably relate to.

I’ll go through them one by one, starting with Robin since I put down her circles first. They are super cool with or without glasses! I mean the girl knows how to hunt, shoot a bow and arrows, stands up for others in the face of danger, and knows how to make anything look good or flawless while making snarky one liners. 

I repeat, 👏 She knows how to make an entrance! 👏

While we do get some background on her and how she grew up pretending to be someone she’s not, either popular mean girl in high school or Robin Hood’s successor, she doesn’t have much storyline or nuance besides that. I’m entirely sure that we see Margot and her aspirations more than we see Robin, not that I mind her caring and worrying about Alice by being all lovey dovey (bc that shit is cute). I think Robin had ‘wasted potential’, in the sense that there was so much more that we could have seen had we had a second season continuation of season 7. I think she was underutilized at times but the writing team and Tiera did well in those circumstances bc I connected to her/fell in love with her in a short time. 

As for Alice, they are so CUTE looking. I find myself thinking about this character and writing about them most often on here. It’s funny but I was intrigued yet disapproving of Alice when I first saw her because she was based on the Lewis Carroll counterpart and how I thought she could be written as the standout crazy person. Let's be real, mental illness is not the easiest thing to portray well on screen and I can see why the writers would avoid using a version of the character in the show unless it was a spinoff, where they could build the world to just be fitting. 

However, after the Beauty episode, I found Alice really endearing and I think Rose’s portrayal of her helped because the chaotic, emotional, and energetic traits could have felt extreme or disjointed had it been any other actress. Yes, I’m attributing Rose to this as I can’t see anyone else playing Alice and the same goes for Tiera playing Robin. Point is, Alice drives me nuts by how no matter what she is going through, you want to root for her when things are going good, cry when she does, and just comfort her because she deserves the world! If there was one strong point this character had on me, it was her resilience. I mean she grew up in a tower from birth, imprisoned there for just existing, and she still managed to make it through and try to find her bearings in an ever changing environment.

I genuinely would love if she was just taken around “in a handbag like a tiny dog” because she’d have so much to say and I love driving around to different cities to explore stuff when I can. Think she would like that too and how she’d definitely be able to put up a lot of conversation for thought.

I really do think Alice wasn’t given a chance by most fans just because she was in Season 7, which is fine bc most of the main cast left, but the thing is, she was and still is treated horribly/”done dirty” by the toxic side of the fandom, especially those who are CS shippers. I’m truly sorry to the real Captain Swan shippers for this toxic minority that bring down the fandom’s ship title because you guys are lovely and I still consider myself part of the bunch. What I’m trying to say is most of the things I’ve read from those who hate on her are reasons like because she acts like a child, therefore “Robin has to be stuck annoyed and taking care of her” (that’s infantalizing! ew), could potentially kill anyone and is the villain bc she’s “crazy”, and is the bad replacement for Hope. I would understand that last one if she broke CS, but it’s not even the same Killian Jones and the writers made sure that those two had the same happy ending route they did before. I’m not going to even argue the rest as it goes to show some people just want to hate rather than watch and appreciate the her for who she truly is in the season. Part of the reason why I tag “ouat s7″ so that people can choose if they want to see it and it helps filter out the bad seeds.

Onto Curious Archer/Madarcher topics since the rest of my circles have both of them in it. 

Ahhhh *swoon* “The Girl in the Tower” Pretty sure I can’t state enough about how much I love this episode where the two of them shine the most and get the most screen time with one another. It’s here where we truly see them as individuals and “deeper than they seem”, realizing that they’re more than just their stereotypes or how they are perceived by others. That’s why I put “they work better as part of a dynamic” because even though they can hold their own, they make each other’s lives better being around one another. 

Look at these cute beans that make heart eyes at each other and look out for their loved ones. How can you tell me that they’ve done anything wrong in their lives because they haven’t OwO! “They didn’t get enough screentime” because they both made every minute on screen feel new and exciting. When episodes were still airing, I couldn’t get enough of them and hoped they were in the next episode. If it were up to me, we’d get another season so these two could get a proper conclusion, maybe see a wedding, have more backstories, adventures, dates, comedy, and romance play out. I’m sure so many of us that love them would like a spinoff since the show is done. Alas, only fanfics and edits can keep them alive now.  Lastly, I can’t believe that for characters that had the runtime or only appeared for half a season, I fell in love with them and even got invested back into ouat as if it were season 1 or 2 all over again. They were such a well developed LGBT couple that could have used more spice sure, but were overall such joy to see on screen.
