Like, its a very small country, but a powerful one and absolutely fuckall is known about their royal family, or the nation itself bc it's impossible to send spies inside without never hearing from them again. Nobody, exept for immidiate family even realizes that Damian is an actual crown prince of an actual country.

Like, just, him, on twitter. and then someone makes a joke about him and the way he is so overly formal in public. And Damian is like, 'yeah, I'm representing my whole country here, I'm the crown prince of my nation', and the person on twitter is like...

And then Dick comes in the comments like. 'Look up the royal liniage of Nanda Parbat before you embarras yourself, I am begging you.' que a small twitter freakout bc holy shit, the youngest Wayne kid is actual fucking royalty, also, apparently Brucie Wayne fucked a princess, what's up with that?

the consequences this would have. Imagine this. They're at a gala, and IDK Black Mask shows up to rob/kidnap/kill them. The hired security never stood a chance. Bruce is there and is already making plans to slip out, and appear as batman.

No more then two seconds later, at least 12 shadows crash trough the roof and absolutely massacre everyone there. No mercy, just murder, before making a protective ring around Damian, who is still completely cool and composed.

The cops try and make a stink about the 2 dozen dead henchmen and the dead Black Mask, but Crown Prince Damian just calmly walks over and tells commissioner Gordon that these were his body guards, and are therefore allowed to do these things if they judge it to be in favor of the crown prince's safety.

Nobody can really argue with that.

Two days later, at school, there are some upperclassmen who are being bitches, and are like. 'Where are your bodyguards now?'

'Just because you can't see them, doesn't mean they're not here.'

And a red dot appears on the boys forehead.

I just think it would be really funny if Damian Al Ghul was a genuine prince, in an official, international way. PS.

Even better if the Al Ghul's adopt Jason along the way, and Jason just, straight up also becomes a prince. He's not blood related tho, so he's still in line behind Damian, even though he is the oldest.

That would be insanity. After the Black mask fiasco, Jason just orders the shadows around like. 'okay, after we're done here, escort the crown prince to the secure location.' or whatever.

Someone films it. It goes viral.

People are like; 'what the fuck, why can you order them around like that.'

And Jason is like; 'I am the second prince, therefore, by tradition, the General. The Nanda Parbat fighting forces are under my command.'

I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!! Now I have an excuse to talk about My Design Process!! (Also take their game-given names as an added bonus bc idk when else this would come up lol)

In general, my design philosophy for Trashclan is "find the closest morph I can and then take liberty with the markings". Thankfully this is pretty easy because as long-time domestic animals... pigeons come in lots of colours!!

Orangesky:

I thought her sprite looked super striking so I tried very very hard to match it to a pigeon as close as I could!! Translating the hearts was easy (keeping them consistently shaped is another story, but I'm willing to suffer for her <3), 90% of the work was in me digging around searching for the closest brown pigeon morph I could manage... and some weird recessive dilute situation came through for me!! I'm honestly surprised I managed to find something with both the browns and the grey lmao

Her name I was also pretty attached to by the time I put the run of the game down, but orioles uh... do not exist in this country c': I briefly considered changing it to "Blackbird" or "Thrush" because those are birds in the same family, but pretty much immediately settled on "Orange" because it just kinda looked similar enough for me to be really happy with it! I always knew I was gonna ditch the whole "star" suffix thing for worldbuilding reasons, shoutout to Pav who suggested "sky" bc it 100% keeps the energy of her game-given name and is in general just a rlly good name fhbefr

Ermineleaf was a no-brainer, I took one look at their sprite and went "oh, that's a standard blue bar pigeon" lmao I think I briefly debated changing their prefix to "stoat" because while we have those there (invasive), idk if they moult into their white winter coat and officially earn ermine status... but it was another name I was pretty attached to so I decided to let it slide lol

Straight up, he's just based on my real life pigeon but old and droopifed lmao. My pigeon has pearl eyes, aka she looks haunted by the knowledge of the wilds at all times and I thought that was a perfect translation for the bright cyan

This design was also a pretty easy 1:1 translation! The majority of the decisions here were just simplifying the pied spotting, aka something I would have done even if she was a cat lol. I also made the call to give her no wing-barring even tho her sprite is striped, also for simplifying reasons.

Settling on "fledge" as the suffix for apprentices was also a no-brainer bc it's... simply the age at which they're fledging! Easy!

Bonus Fringeclaw bc yes he was a real character in the game that I real killed in the first moon:

Fringeclaw is a perfect example of a totally standard cat name that I changed to be bird-applicable! Pigeons don't have teeth but they do have claws, easy swap!

His design is the furthest I departed from the sprite, I genuinely don't think I looked at it when I coloured him in the moon he's in, I just knew he was brown and I wanted him to share colours with Orangesky lmao

But I genuinely think the USA is swinging too far to the left, and people are pushing back. So, I was romancing Sam on every playthrough but decided to branch out finally, and now I have a tier list; ‼️Potential spoilers‼️

Tobin: By far my favorite RO. I typically don't like the archetype of "brooding ro and their charming ro counterpart" It just doesn't interest me as someone who has seen a lot of het romances employ this trope. But giving Tobin the chance they deserve and finding that I like how they respond to my MC's own flirtatious nature and then discovering how they feel about my MC being the same gender, just adds an extra layer of interest for me that I appreciated. They're kind, considerate, and very thoughtful of their friends. Very quickly blew the rest of the competition out of the water for me. I think their mindset when it comes to tennis explains why they're not the no.1 Seed despite being the captain of the team, and it honestly surprised me. I think the full weight of their route is explored best when MC is similarly looking to go pro as it parallels Rayyan nicely. Their kidness is the space they give you is born from experience and the fear of doing to MC what was done to them and I just eat that stuff up. Also it is very rare to have a black RO who is treated with any level of depth, and I just 🥹love that we Tobin.

Rayyan: In a surprise twist, Rayyan gets the second spot for similar reasons as Tobin. I think the enemies to friends to lovers(partners) arc that is presented in their story is intriguing. Like Sam, they have a level of history with the MC that makes them familiar when heading into the new space, so I made it a habit to stay near them when at all possible. Rayyan isn't particularly cold, or as cold as ppl might assume, I think they have a very good balance of being a sort of quiet and reserved person that still manages to be personable. I feel that playing like I do, my MC might've come off as flippant to them, which only adds to the anxiety that they feel going into this season. Their struggle of being visually Arab in a world and country that sees non whiteness as punishable is very felt. It's really special to me that the two most prominent ROs are dark skinned people of color. Sorry for being biased, but even when I wasn’t actively romancing them, they got major points for that.

Sam: My baby gets the third spot and I think that's fair. What i adored about Sam is the pining of a friends to lovers story. I never make the first move with Sam, despite playing very flirty, bc I see my MC with not having to put up a front with Sam. So the things they do or say that signify to others that my MC is looking for something physical aren't used with Sam; they believe MCs closeness with them is strictly platonic while my MC believes that Sam has been lightly rejecting this whole time. Just something about those missed connections get to me. (Also, the varcity jackets!? So cute) Now, Sam loses points due to being away at another university for a majority of the story thys far. Which made me wonder if placing them in a new environment with MC might change things for them. Everything IS different now; so, who is to say that their relationship hasn't run its course? Juicy, but due to lack of presence, I'll keep them at 3rd.

G: They're French. Automatically, a point is taken off. They're also very sexy as a woman (my MC is a they/them lesbian) so I felt that, to remain true to character, I would have to ignore that and see what G has going on. Ngl, they do sort of play out like a romance novel character in the most obvious way so far 😭 no hate though. I just couldn't not think about "Oh, you sexy French student." Whenever they said anything. Smoldering looks from across the room at a crowded college party, like okay 400 days of summer <3. I think they're rather perfect for players who are looking for some steam outside of the locker room. They have the same issue as Sam, as in, they're not present in the locker room. They're not our teammate, so we don't really get the same level of relationship building with them as u would a Rayyan or Tobin. And I don't think that's a bad thing necessarily. I feel that speaks to the amount of work put in to make the team feel real and not just thrown together characters. Once I started to romance my teammates, I found it hard to flirt with anyone else, as I felt that they just didn't understand my MC on the same level.

Felix: ngl, they'd have to get security to get me off them, I have this burning rage in my heart whenever they show up. "🤼‍♂️ This is for Tobin, Cakepop‼️" I am sure there is indeed depth to them as a character, I am sure it hurts to hear someone say "I can not love you the way you want me to." And we are only human, we don't always behave the way we want to. But Felix makes my nipple itch they just remind me of men who just hold this anger for their exes unreasonably. I think there is an interesting parallel to be found in a Tobin route MC and Felix. I just don't have the language to put it together bc I will never romance them and I don't think I ever will, personally just can't bring myself to do so. They are what I felt Rayyan would be, and I'm fine with meeting them with hostility.

All in all, I'm glad I branched out to see what the other ROs were like it's definitely a testament to ur hard work and is greatly appreciated. I will continue to be messy and kiss Tobin, Rayyan, and Sam because I am toxic aim to be a learning experience, not a lover 🫶🏽

Oh my god~ It was so interesting to see your gradual evolution / journey through pursuing the different ROs.

I think it's really interesting in particular to see how Tobin's character is sort of 'hidden' beneath multiple layers, and you have to really work at unpeeling those layers, and it's really rewarding as a writer to see that route 'give' readers so much unexpected joy.

And, of course — I have a soft spot for stoic / unexpressive, overly-competitive, serious characters who are secretly just a giant sap. For Rayyan in particular, I think their drive to excel at tennis is counter-balanced against their loyalty, their ride-or-die-ness with the people they love. I love the extra bit of psychoanalysis that you did regarding Rayyan's anxiety about MC not taking tennis seriously, which is fine on its own, but really becomes an issue if they're partnered.

Sam having less 'screen-time' than the others is totally fair, and I think (or hope) will be made up for by the sheer amount of history they share.

As for the whole "French sexy" stereotype, I actually do think this is a crucial part of G's arc. The idea that perhaps they both see each other as 'archetypes' at the start (the jock-fling during one's exchange year, the sexy french exchange student), and then as they start understanding each other as real people, and then as they start (possibly) falling in love with each other (with all the eccentricities, all the imperfections), the relationship takes on more depth and dimension.

One day more or Sale el sol? Los Mis 2010

Okay so yesterday I made a post about Los Miserables 2010 and discovered there's more people who love it??? Someone asked me about the spanish translation of les mis and it was the straw that broke the camel's back for me to finally make a post. You have NO IDEA how long I've wanted to talk about this. Anyway, today I'll be talking about the 2010 spanish translation BUT I already have in my drafts a post comparing the spanish 1992, spanish 2010 and the original english versions (Edit: not in drafts anymore, here it is!). Without furhter ado, here are my thoughts about Sale el sol:

First things first: the title. "Sale el sol" means "The sun rises". I didn't use to like the translation because they could have gone with "Un día más" (as they did in 1992). It means exactly "one day more" and fits the music almost perfectly (you just have to pronounce it a little bit weird but nothing that isn't a common thing to do in songs). But then I saw this tweet:

"The phrase the sun rises instead of one day more to speak about resilience in a country in which the sun was used by fascists makes one feel mental peace, feel justice, feel art and revolution, it feels like recovering the light and coming out of the shadows"

A little bit of context: Spain was in a fascist dictatorship until 1975. There is a famous song from that time called "Cara al sol" ("Facing the sun"). It was the anthem of the Falange, a political party, but it's still used today by fascist groups. In this context, claiming the sun for a message like the one this song sends is really poetic justice and I just love it.

They also use the idea of the sun rising in "La canción del pueblo/Do you hear the people sing?" (I'll make a post about that one too) so it really links the two songs together in a very beautiful way. I could speak about the title for hours, but let's go to the lyrics:

As you can see, in the translation we sadly lose the repetition of "one day more" 😔 Also Javert saying that the revolution will be born dead conveys to me the certainty that he had that it was not going to work. The army won't have to do much because the revolution will die by itself (and he was right, the people didn't join 😔)

Honestly I don't fully understand the Thenardier's part in english so I can't properly compare it, but they're so caothic in both languages, this part is so funny.

My favourite part of the song 😭 In english "Do you hear the people sing?" is the title of another song but since that one is called "La canción del pueblo" ("The people's song") they couldn't keep the verse exactly the same. But it's the first verse of The people's song

Just Javert's part bcs it's different, the others are kept the same than previously if I'm not wrong. Once again, there's no repetition in spanish 😔

I find it funny that since the original one talks about dawn at the end they translated it to "un día mas", doing the opposite of what they did with the title. It made me wonder for years why didn't they use it for the whole song since it fits the music. But now I know and you know too.

Travelling Pastry Shop. named Pamela's. it just appears. anywhere it wants to appear. candy pop sells candy and baked goods.

BECAUSE. i think it'd do candy pop a lot of good to have some hobby to be passionate about! just to get him doing stuff some more. he really likes making humans happy and he likes confectionery!!! and baking! so this makes sense for him! being a jester is old fashioned anyway... besides, it's always been a role that belongs to Jesterca and Payazo more than it belongs to him... BUT STILL. Does not mean he'll stop juggling and being silly

candy pop finally getting employed after being called unemployed for so long HOORAY. i would think jason supports him. in fact, maybe even inspires him. but at the same time hates the new wave of absences. bc jason is clingy and doesn't want candy pop to be away for hours at a time. i mean, candy pop already leaves for soul hunts... it's even worse if he has an actual job...

jason made sure Their schedules are Lined up to Perfectly Match each Others. so when jason finishes work, he can go home and candy pop will be there! but. erm. candy pop gets a little distracted sometimes... (EXPLORING)...

Pamela's is kind of like. Idk. candy pop can just teleport it wherever he wants. Mainly cus he wants a diverse selection of customers >_O and he likes going to different places. jason does a similar thing with his blue door, though he doesn't take ALL of his orders in person. they get sent to him to be fixed, or requested.

candy pop doesn't open Pamela's until corpse is 13! corpse helps out in the shop from time to time. corpse is a baker herself. candy pop and jason both enjoy baking as a hobby, so she picked it up through "family night baking". she also likes bringing her friends there since it's like a free trip to different countries. she gets them free treats and whatnot. something she can do at the pastry shop but NOT at jason's toy shop.

SPEAKING OF THE TOY SHOP. corpse is kind of like a mascot figure in a way—well, she's not the mascot because that's jason, but she does attract customers due to her appearance!!! by that i mean, the little kids love asking her if she is some princess. she just giggles and says "maaaybeeee". But yah. she can't do much there other than wave at cute kids and try to get them to buy stuff (which she doesn't mind doing she thinks the kids r sooo adorbz)

jason absolutely loves spending time with his daughter this way. what, he gets to work and be a good father at the same time? wonderful! corpse is careful at the toy shop, more so than she is when she's helping out candy pop. jason and his strict nature means corpse is inclined to behave professionally. but. She has her fun here and there. Looking at the toys, maybe playing hide and seek w the little ones.

like how corpse bakes treats for Pamela's, she also makes toys to sell at jason's shop! just to help out... erm. jason puts them under review, and she eventually stops trying to get them on display. that is until candy pop convinces jason to let him make a little stand where corpse can sell her stuff. and he's like. "well. Okay. yes you can sell your beautiful toys that are not as high quality as mine but are still lovely."

jason falls victim to the listening to everything candy pop says when he pouts sadly enough curse. it's a real thing.

I strongly headcanon that Masrur's been crushing on Sharrkan for years, and the sole reason he hasn't done anything about it is because he's very much aware that Sharrkan's got it bad for Yamraiha. He accepted it's one-sided, it kinda sucks, but he lives.

Love the idea that in the future they kinda all end up together, tho I usually see it as Masrur->Sharrkan<-Yamraiha, so Masrus&Yamraiha isn't romantic. And then there's Masrur's wives. Actually, I'm, as usual, talking about it with Yudja, and Alibaba... doesn't really get to see Aladdin do that often, right? LIke, we know Aladdin gropes women a lot, but the only times I recall of Alibaba being present when he does are: in brothels (where it's obviously different), with Yamraiha (where Alibaba gets flustered, and only after a moment realizes Aladdin is already gone, so I can give him half a credit for not reacting fast enough or potentially freezing, because???), and here, where he actively stops him. So for the sake of my conscience I'm going to assume Alibaba doesn't realize how much of a problem it actually is. Or Morgiana, for that matter, doesn't realize it, either.

Like, I daresay Alibaba and Morgiana are both characters who would be the most genuinely horrified about this behavior. Morgiana, because she was a slave and had no bodily autonomy (I'm having extreme flashbacks to the scene with Budel), and Alibaba... for a lot of reasons, ranging from more personal, to "he lived in the slums, then on his own as a traveler until reaching Qishan so he very much could've seen/heard of some shit". Like at the very least he probably learnt what kind of people to avoid. And this one is a bit of a... headcanon, I suppose. Alibaba left Balbadd around 13/14 probably, and he's got soft, feminine features, like, he looks very similar to Anise. And he was alone. I don't think anything happened, but I can imagine that some people could've made him pretty uncomfortable.

Anyway, enough of this topic. Sexual harrassment is not funny.

Idk, I like it a lot. Him just realizing that there are people just like him all around the world. It definitely makes him feel less alienated.

ok ok ok so i grew up with tons of big farm dogs. i haven't had a dog for a while now bc running away from home, poverty, etc etc. life might be settling into a place in the next few years where i could get a dog.... and i'm thinking about a chi when that time comes. do you have good info on them? how to find a (relatively) healthy one from a breed rescue or reputable breeder? anything about them that should be known if you dont have one? any quirks they have? feel free to ignore this but this is a chance to spread chihuahua propaganda if you want :)

If you are looking for good information on the breed, I would locate the website for the breed club in your country and start reading. If there's not much of a website, see if you can find any events put on by the breed club in your country so that you can go and learn more in person. Unfortunately the dog world is half people old enough to be our grandparents, so there's not always a lot of technological knowledge to make information readily available to the public in the way we're typically used to.

I do not have good luck with rescue so I will not be advising you there. Finding a responsible breeder can be quite difficult, especially in this companion breed that is ridiculously popular. In general, you are going to want the breeder that health tests to at minimum the standard laid out by the breed club. Here, that would be heart, knees, eyes, and a basic genetics test. Showing vs not showing, sports vs no sports, those are things that personally I think matter less to the average buyer who just wants a nice pet.

Personally I look for people who at least take their dogs to events and have fun, because I think temperament is incredibly important in any dog breed, but "events" doesn't need to mean "dog events". My chihuahuas' breeders take their dogs to their Buddhist meetings, where they sit on the laps of attendees and run around the temple freely. This tells me a lot more than "does sports", because it means the dogs are capable of being around a large group of strangers and in a strange area completely offleash and are not only safe but happy to be doted on by whoever is delighted by the presence of a billion tiny dogs. They do also take their dogs to fun run sporting events, and they show their dogs too, but I think in a companion breed the hanging out at the temple provides me more information.

As far as quirks go... they're pretty clannish. A good chihuahua is a friendly dog that may square up and fire off at an incoming challenger- they are pretty similar to terriers after all, and my girls will try to chase coyotes off my property despite very much being snack-sized- but at the same time they shouldn't be little asshole rat dogs that no one wants to be around. They prefer to hang out with other chihuahuas or similarly-sized dogs, though with good socialization you can convince them that bigger dogs are okay too. They're very affectionate and needy, but also have their own independent streak, and when training you may need to be creative when convincing them you're worth listening to. They're pretty cold-intolerant and seek heat and comfort. They come from feral pariah dogs, so they have a lot of "primitive" traits seen in other frequently loose, roaming dogs. They can be hard to potty train as they're avid markers, even the females. They tend to steal and hoard and bury things. Despite a reputation for being yappy, mostly my chihuahuas are pretty quiet until there's a reason to bark, but Fae does do a single bark at passersby when out on a walk.

I think Greeks who claim we are closer to NW Europeans refer mostly to the social aspect of things, probably to the situation of Human Rights and views of women and minorities. That's what my experience has shown me, at least.

They also forget that they eat roasted lamb on Easter and dance kalamatiano on full volume with their family outside the whole day, or go to a pazari for the festivity of a saint and eat souvlaki, or watch people jump over the fire at festivities, and scream every time they see their grandma putting semedakia everywhere 😂 (stuff closer to the Middle Eastern life) When they have grown up with singers like Sharbel (Lebanese Greek-Cypriot) and Arash (Iranian-Swedish) and songs which are covers with 50 more versions across the Middle East!!!

The latest trend in Greece is to try to be more like the US and NW Europeans culture-wise (Americanization is a big thing here, and it was discussed also in Greek school). This includes seeing traditional Greek culture as barbaric/rural and being ashamed of it. Hence why many Greeks conveniently forget that part of their culture when they compare their daily life to a foreigner's.

Due to the Americanization and turn of Greece toward the EU, many Greeks have not learned about Middle Eastern cultures and actually tend to believe US propaganda which paints Eastern countries as savage backwaters. I've met grown Greeks who think Iran is still at war with Iraq, for example. But they don't know that Iran is actually friendly with Greece (as a Greek you can get an Iranian visa pretty fast), that Greece bought cheap oil from them during our financial crisis, and they also have a cultural center and an embassy in Athens.

Greeks who feel closer to NW Europeans tend to be misinformed about Eastern cultures. I don't think they have taken into account factors like the multitude of common phrases and basic words, our common ways of politeness (how to bring gifts and how to have complicated rituals of politeness like tarof), common ways of receiving guests and honoring other people, same traditional coffee + 90% of our dishes being the same, similar dances, instruments, fairytales, legends, symbolism like the pomegranate, etc.

I don't personally know the Greeks you've spoken to but the attitude of some Greeks when it comes to Eastern cultures is "wait, do you imply that we are like them??" And then you show them how the other culture actually looks like and they're like "huuuh! I had no idea!" Also, last time I checked, NW (Catholic, Protestant, etc) churches didn't have a balcony for women but guess which do: Greek orthodox churches (it's called γυναικωνίτης) and mosques!

Some have not even thought of our similarities until they go abroad and find themselves suddenly vibing and having fun with Arabs and Turks (bonus points for historical jokes). And Lebanon?? The Lebanese are like Greeks 2.0 in appearance, customs (especially with the Christian population), songs, food, family etc. When I first discovered videos of a Lebanese youtuber (shoutout to Mark Hachem) I initially thought his family was Greek-Lebanese from all the similarities. You would have Pascha or a wedding with a Lebanese family and you wouldn't know they were of another ethnicity until you tried to speak to each other 😂

Something else to consider: Greeks say all the time how NW Europeans are not open, how they don't have proper nightlife and don't enjoy their lives, how their cuisine sucks, their dances are silly, they drink without meter, they are too strict, they don't want to be open to other cultures and speak to foreigners in English, they take too long to form friendships, they are very set in their ways. I don't mean that this is true for every single NW European. I only mean that these are basic cultural things that Greeks (with their own biases) recognize as different from theirs to the degree of dislike. How come then that so many Greeks criticize NW Europeans for such basic elements of life, and yet they see themselves to be just like them? Isn't that contradictory?

It's true that in Greece, Afghanis, Syrians, Iranians, Pakistanis, and other Middle Easterners are not seen in the best way but this is mostly because they are "the poor immigrants". You won't be shocked to learn that in Middle Eastern countries they also look down upon their own "poor immigrants" who "bring crime and take jobs". So I would say this is a worldwide phenomenon. In Greece, there's always the historical trauma from our former Muslim conquerors/slavers/genociders (search about the amele taburu) and Erdogan who is quite provocative, but modern socioeconomic barriers and political biases play a much bigger role in how Greeks approach their neighbors. I don't see Greeks having such a problem with rich Arabs from the UAE who buy Greek land, bring their yachts, and close off hotels for their parties, in spite of the larger cultural and religious differences 😉

It's not that we cannot have fun with NW Europeans or that we have nothing in common. Many Greeks have comfortably made a new life in the UK, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Germany etc. Many NW Europeans are a pleasure to befriend as a Greek. And there are various levels of similarities with Western countries depending on the country. With some Greek friends were were saying the other day how we can more easily share a life philosophy with people from the UK and France than the US, for example. (The US is more isolated and far) Of course, we are more likely to feel quite close to South Italians, Spanish, and Portuguese people because we are all around the Mediterranean basin.

I'm from Asia, and the overwhelming majority of us would straight-up not date white people. Some ethnicities are more likely to date out than others, but overall we're good, no thanks. Women who do date white foreigners tend to be levelling up economically (no judgement there from me) which is a well-known fact. While there is definitely white colonialist beauty standards at play in the majority of places, I have lots of experience with the corners that bs hasn't reached (Nepal, for a generally big example, where they love dark skin and certain features) - and even within the spaces where European-centric standards do apply, the majority of non-white people aren't interested in dating actual white people as a first choice. It has nothing to do with white people's racism or disinterest in non-white people lol. I don't know about the Middle East of course, but I think your experiences of Asia seem limited to the more English-speaking, cosmopolitan areas perhaps - or maybe you are talking about Japan, which I am not familiar with personally. However even in Korea I have a white friend (born there) who can't get a boyfriend because- in her words- men there sort foreigners as "fun times only" and local women as "marriage material". It's a bit ridiculous to think that billions of non-white people are genuinely thirsting over white people, it's simple not true - most people prefer to date within their race. Lots of people do feel attraction to white people, for the reasons you outlined or naturally as well, but your experience does not seem univeral (outside the Western sphere). It was kind of bizarre at first to come across this thinking in Western spaces but now it's just deeply agitating, because I notice non-white people in Western countries really do act like they're less attractive and it's insane to me. Like sorry, but here in my part of the world, certain Asian features on women are considered the height of beauty among these communities (to the point where that's problematic in and of itself). Definitely white beauty standards have wormed their way here too, but again, it didn't change most Asians' sexual preferences - it just made them look for those features in their own (not everyone, but most - yes some people would date white).
