#they have made jokes that are just as edgy and offensive as the ones on south park
Explore tagged Tumblr posts
tumblr users will be like “south park is the worst show ever created and anyone who watches it is irredeemable” and then reblog a post about it’s always sunny… as if both shows don’t contain (intentionally, for the purpose of satire) awful characters and jokes.

please please talk about the osc dark ages. i avoided it for awhile i think. i need to know just how shitty and poorly-made object shows were back then. looks at you with my big wet eyes.
when i talk about the "dark ages" of the osc, i'm specifically talking about a time period spanning from the mid-to-late 2010s.
the "dark ages" are marked by a sudden drop in activity from most popular object shows, and the prominence of cringe culture in that era. around this time, a lot of popular object show creators were at an age where they were now full-time college students, leaving them with very little time to work on their shows. inanimate insanity was releasing about one episode per year at this point, and bfdi was completely inactive. i don't know much about what the huangs were doing during this time, but i do know that for ii, things were MESSY behind the scenes. i followed adam's deviantart journals pretty actively around this time, and he often talked about his struggles with his decision to study animation professionally, and how he was unsure of the show's future. there was actually a time where he briefly stepped down of the director of the show, but it thankfully didn't last long. (fun fact! baseball's monologue in s2e10 about his inability to lead his alliance was ad-libbed by adam, and was a reflection of how he felt about his ability to direct the show and its team at the time.) the inanimate insanity kickstarter was launched towards the tail-end of this time period, and it's extremely likely the show wouldn't have continued at all had it not been funded.
the other major contributor was the rise of "cringe culture". we're talking about a time where youtubers like filthy frank and leafyishere absolutely DOMINATED youtube. the internet was not an environment that appreciated any kind of joyous whimsy and unabashed love of your interests. many osc creators and alumni were in their late teens, which is already an age where you become mildly to severely irony-poisoned, but the culture of the time only made it worse. object shows were seen as Dumb and Lame, even by the people who had spent years of their life working on them. multiple "joke" object shows released, the most famous of which being object redundancy (i actually can't find the year this one released, as its only kept alive via reuploads now, none of which have a date), and my goat, object show 87. if you want to get a feel for the community around this time, os87 is the poster child for it. it's full of edgy and offensive jokes (i mentioned this already, but there's a character who's name is straight up a slur, or at least a very offensive term), outdated references (keemstar is a contestant.), and an almost unrelenting hatred for popular object show tropes. object show 87 is a show that HATES the fact that it's an object show. it's honestly fascinating to me, and i've considered making a video essay on it. and it wasn't even a show made by some randos, object show 87 was made by SAM THORNBURY and XANYLEAVES. these weren't some random assholes with a hateboner for the genre, these were some of the most prolific creators and animators in the community.
it was an absolutely miserable time to be an object show fan. the stream of new episodes and shows had dried up, and what DID come out was just a bunch of edgy teenagers going "haha object shows are so doopid. i am going to say a slur now". it was not a good time to have object show autism.

Thoughts on this post?:
https://www.tumblr.com/animentality/64152073250/abc-newsman-proves-danger-of-allowing-transgender?source=share
thanks for reminding me to delete that post I made in literally 2013 when I was 15 because it doesn't reflect who I am as a person anymore.
is this supposed to be a gotcha?
are people supposed to be born woke?
I am amazed you managed to even find this post with like 6 notes, where I legitimately asked people for their opinion on the subject because I was unsure about it and I had certain taught biases that I hadn't learned to abandon yet.
it might amaze you to know that I once told a guy he'd make a great wife when he mentioned he liked cooking.
this was in 2012.
how cisheteronormative of me, right?
but you were all so woke in 2012, weren't you?
you never said anything that was not PC as a teenager.
you never told edgy jokes or said stupid offensive things.
you were born perfect, I'm sure.
it's not like I'm proud of the dumb stuff I said.
but I didn't start identifying as nonbinary until I was 18, and I didn't start identifying as trans until I was 21.
I was raised by an older mother, not a gen x er or a millennial, but a baby boomer, whose inherent biases still sometimes surface in me when I least expect it.
I was raised Catholic.
I had JUST STARTED PUBLIC SCHOOL, after spending literally 6 years in a fucking Catholic school.
I DIDNT UNDERSTAND transgender issues, nor did most people in 20 fucking 13.
how the fuck could I
my mom to this day doesn't know what the fuck nonbinary or trans are, and I identify as both.
how was I supposed to know?
I'd never even met anyone in the LGBT community at that point, nor had I realized I belonged there either.
I literally didn't even know I was pan at that point, or that I was nb/trans myself, or how I felt about most political topics.
that's why I ASKED.
and I said the wrong things. yeah, I did.
but no one had taught me the right words.
and in that post, no one bothered to explain it to me either.
I had to learn that over time.
and guess what?
I'm still not perfect now. I'm still going to make mistakes because times change, as they always do.
and all we can do is try and forgive people who are trying and doing their best, and remaining open minded to things they don't understand right from fucking birth.
but by all means, do search my history to your hearts content.
honestly, I kinda wanna see what dirt you find because this was an interesting look at the kinds of things I thought in 2013.
I can look back at myself and see how far I've come.
this post was interesting to read for me because it was wildly off mark, it misgendered trans women, and it lacked political, historical, and social understanding...
and so?
yeah?
it's offensive. it's bad.
and I didn't know any better.
but lol.
people learn things. people change their opinions.
if you people spend all your time digging up dirt and trying to cancel people for who they were, rather than who they are, or who they're trying to be... I have news for you.
your existence is pointless and your efforts are meaningless.
but I am flattered you did such a deep dive, anon.
please do find more and send them to me.
I'd like to know what other gotchas you can yank out of my ass.
I used to be on Facebook in 2011 before I deleted it in like 2013.
see if you can find anything there.
I used to write cringy poetry. it might be funny to read now.

RWBY volume 2 finale rewatch thoughts, Critical AKA RWDE content ahead.
.Jaune has good taste in very dumb dubstep, I'll give him that
.NPR: RWBY are good at their jobs, what's the worst that coul-"Air raid sirens" OH GOD DAMNIT
.Ren being concerned about his team abandoning a village is foreshadowing for his and Nora's backstories I didn't expect to find here
.Ruby is "useless without her weapon" but she uses kicks rather effectively, also nice Haloid/Matrix reference
.Weiss makes a sword out of Dust before she even gets the knight summon, tell me why they needed to throw those bootleg shin-megami-tensei demons on her moveset at all?
.Jaune wins by the swordplay equivalent to spamming the A button
.Oh god the Junior detectives bit. You are in the middle of a war zone this isn't funny and kills the tone. At least we aren't at the point where Sun is nothing but unfunny jokes but this is the start of that.
.Ruby Saluting the Atlus military and then said Military being just as useful against Grimm feel so antithetical to what a lot of An//ti-Rwdes keep spewing
.Cinder why are in your Villain dress? Also Emerald ass shot no one needed.
.Why does Emerald just a have a better version of Ren's weapon?
.UGHHH team CFVY are overrated as fuck, they basically steal the finale from the characters we actually give a shit about, their theme song while not being bad is just a audio embodyment of trying to hard, and they are built up like such a big deal only to job to the villains, have Velvet get her one cool scene later, and then never be relevant again for like 7+ years outside of books I've heard nothing but bad things about.
.The aura expansion/explosion thing Fox does is cool though, at least. Wait Ren also did a move like that once, why doesn't anyone ever use that move again?
.That is giant ass Beowolf holy shit. also you can really tell a 2010's gamer bro wrote that clothing store line.
."You spent all semester building that up" Coco people are in danger, let her fight you fashion fascist...
.Yeah if you didn't already know, Coco is based on the IRL fashion designer Coco Channel who turned out to be a Nazi, like Nazi party Nazi not neo nazi shit, this was that long ago. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but this was not common info at the time but you could find it and RT was known to be very edgy and outright offensive (just look up some shit they were saying on internet box) and the leader of a team made up mostly of minorities being lead by a Nazi sounds like a joke they might make, and Coco has some WWII influences in her design, and her being confirmed as lesbian later sounds like it could be a play on the "nazis are secretly gay" thing and... Just please tell me this was unintentional, I don't want to think about this anymore.
.Coco also destroys any hope the Grimm being a threat have, why do they become like.. rubble?
.You can really tell the animation was either running out of budget or was rushed or both in this episode
."Yay we all did it, even though team CVFY did 90% of the work"
.How is there still 7 minutes of episode left?
.Blake says multiple people are behind bars so I am going to believe most of those WF members didn't die, Banesaw lives godamnit
.Zwei mimicking Yang is really cute
."We have no idea what happening, let's go take a nap"
.They try to paint the council as unreasonable for putting Ironwood the charge but he just helped the Kingdom defend itself and we all know how much negativity sports can cause, IRL sports riots are a thing.
.Council are not in the wrong at all for questioning Ozpin, bro is letting the leader of another kingdom in on the truth but not his own?
.Those cells look really cramped, that's a little messed up
.Roman's dialog is fucking gold, I don't much else to say about it
.How is today a success Cinder? Your plan went off early and was stopped
.ADAM... yeah that's it
.Ah the Raven scene, the one that retconed into a fucking dream because no one had any idea what Monty was trying to do with Raven and he died before anyone could learn, it's just fucking sad

Insect Symbolism in the Edgy Sword Manga Pt. 2
Part 1
Hello internet void, I am back on my bullshit. It's mushibachi time once more. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ Let's take a look at the critter powers showcased by Kyoura and Magatsumi in Chapter 42: spider, dragonfly, and centpede.
Spider
Tumblr media
[sticky situation joke here]
Nice utility spell! We don't actually see the spider itself, just the web trapping Chihiro. I also don't have access to the raws to see what the OG text is so I'll assume it's the general word for spider ("蜘蛛", kumo).
Obviously, the legends of the tsuchigumo and jorogumo could be the inspiration here. They're famous yokai that deceive humans with shape shifting and clever traps in order to harm them. Spider webs themselves are pretty on the nose visuals for being ensnared in someone else's plans.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, spiders often represent patience and the intricate interconnected nature of life. They're also sometimes signs of good luck depending on the circumstances where you find them. I don't think Chihiro feels particularly lucky having to face off against his dad's Civilian Destroyer 9000 but hey, you can't win every symbolism roulette. At least it can't be unsheathed and used to its maximum potential!
Tumblr media
...Cold comfort, huh?
Dragonfly
Tumblr media
BEAM MOVE! Maybe. I want to see what this was actually going to be...!
This feels like a "sure kill" move to compliment the web ability. Good on Hakuri for sending Hiyuki in to save our MC!
Dragonflies have a lot of symbolism tied to them, so I'll only be talking about what I think is relevant to Magatsumi.
The meaning of Tonbo (Dragonfly): ton (“勝”) is victory/win in Kanji, and bo (“虫”) means insect. This is why dragonflies were a popular symbol of courage for the brave-hearted Samurai warriors (in) the Edo (Period) (1615–1868), (possibly even as early as) the 11th Century. The speed, agility, and strength of the samurai is it? Very interesting that we get samurai imagery associated with another Sazanami member! Unlike Hakuri though, I don't think it's direct commentary on Kyoura's character. Hakuri is directly connected to the bravery and persistence of the praying mantis in Chs. 19 and 30, but the symbolism of the dragonfly is tied to the sword instead of Kyoura. I wonder if this was an ideal imbued during the forging process...? Really really want the lore so I can go absolutely nuts with why these creatures in particular were used.
Similar to butterflies, dragonflies are also associated with change, transience of life, and death. They can be interpreted as the souls of the dead, or messengers between the living world and yomi. So much spirituality and death with this sword man. Butterflies, lilies and irises, and now dragonflies. Yeesh.
And lastly, they are seen as spiritual guides and protectors of children... who keep them safe from harm... Good thing the war crime sword wasn't able to murder the son of the guy who made the damn thing. (Will Hakuri and Hiyuki always be there to protect Chihiro when people use his dad's legacy against him? Hm.)
But yeah. No wonder that one didn't get to fire off. Fuck you, Kyoura and rest in hell. With all due respect.
Centipede
Tumblr media
Thanks for making one of my most hated creatures look super cool, Hokazono. Bonus fun fact: Japanese centipedes are venomous! Even more reason to dislike them!
This seems to be an AoE knockback ability suited for defense and countering rather than purely offense. Guess each sword will have one utility, offense, and defense move each.
Centipedes have mixed interpretations. On the one hand, they are another symbol of perseverance and adaptability since they can keep squiggling and moving forward even if they lose part of their body. On the other hand, they are also bad omens associated with misfortune. I can't think of a more apt creature to represent this sword, honestly. And it's a neat encapsulation of the buildup to Kyoura's end in chapter 43.
Kyoura is nothing if not persistent even when he should be dead. He's also willing to use the premier piece of merchandise at the auction to keep going, highlighting his adaptability (in terms of running the Rakuzaichi anyway) that's been on display since chapters 22 and 23:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks as always for the clarifying internal monologue, Mr. Shiba. Last image intentionally badly cropped because Hakuri is my favorite.
If Hakuri is a praying mantis, then surely Kyoura is a centipede. Venomous, dogged, flexible, and deserving to be killed on sight (mostly /jk on the last one. Mostly).
Again, the abilities demonstrated by the Magatsumi aren't necessarily direct commentary on Kyoura himself- we'll probably see the same imagery again when someone else uses the sword. Got a lot of speculation as to why this sword is so fucked up with death and spiritual flowers and critters that also have many positive connotations around samurai, strength, and resilience though... especially since it was the shinuchi of the batch that turned the tides and won the war... please give us more backstory so I can go full on tinfoil hat and red string tack board with this!
There's also the mythic creature Omukade, a man-eating yokai with the form of a giant centipede. Not sure if it has any implications for Magatsumi itself, but I like the thought of capturing the essence of monsters to make a monster of a weapon.
Not that I think there are actually yokai or kaiju in this setting; I think Kagurabachi is using these swords as a WMD allegory. Man creates his own hell on earth in an arms race despite the best of intentions and all. Or perhaps out of shortsightedness, victory at all costs, any reason you can think of. We'll have to see Seitei War lore to see if I'm right about that or not. (Please let me be right. Just once in my life, as a treat. ;_;)
I hope the upcoming arc sheds some light on all this... Chihiro's looking for answers so surely we'll learn something! For now, let us commune with the Magatsumi to endure and adapt to this week without Kagurabachi Sunday.

i saw the new video of LO "shock has lost it's value" so you don't have to
because LO claims that other people have covered up the topic of both Postals and Hatred better than her (with a cheeky recognition that she has plagiarized so many people before, but she's self aware so you aren't allowed to bring it up i guess), so the entire video is actually going to be about the coffin of andy and leyley with a small section of the other two. it's not because she wanted to talk about the incest videogame more than anything else. of course no. she was forced to do it because she just prefers to refer to the people who did a better job than her before.
indeed, no other intentionally offensive games has ever appeared since Postal and Hatred. there has been 0 cases until the incest game. if you know anything about the indie game scene, you already know how offensively ignorant this is.
LO calls the incest game a visual novel. it's not. it's literally categorized like an RPG game because it was made on an engine for RPG games. you can literally see that on the steam page that she keeps flashing on the screen. is this a small issue? absolutely. but it bothers me all the same because LO's the one who decides to talk about this game. is really too much of a burden to just know what genre is the game you're talking about? how i'm supposed to believe you when you talk as an authority about this game?
LO still tries to treat cannibalism as a the worst taboo ever, over incest... and i honestly don't know what is even the point? i know that for LO there's really nothing wrong about incest, but are you really helping your case by trying to say "at least it isn't cannibalism, that's worse"? normal people don't do this, LO.
the jabs at the artstyle by saying "this is a conglomeration of every edgy teen girl" really bother me because at least this is a creative work. at least this the work of an artist that they made with their own hands, instead of exploiting a spouse with no paid only to receive subpar art where anatomy and colors go to die. it's also just a girl with messy hair and black clothing...? besides the messy hair, that's you, LO. you keep putting your characters in muddy dark clothing because that's what you always have. it's just unnecesary.
when LO makes a comment about how weird is that these two siblings share a bedroom in a crummy small apartment, she flashes three novels with incest themes on them: forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, flawed by Kate Avelyn and flowers in the attic by V.C. Andrews, that we all have established before LO either didn't read at all or didn't understood at all. before finishing this video she talked about writing "the goth version of flowers in the attic". flowers in the attick is already gothic literature. goth is a music genre, not a literary one. i won't let that go because it reminds me how deeply and proudly ignorant this woman is, and still has the gall to pat herself in the back for it.
all the "alabama" jokes are so tiring and boring. even more boring because LO is canadian and therefore completely disconnected from the culture that made those jokes, so you know the only reason she's making them at all is because she saw americans doing it.
a little rant about how you can't diagnose a character or youtubers with mental health disorders because people have been sued with defamations suits over it. i agree that you can't diagnose real people, that is unethical. however leyley is a fictional character. we can talk about how kids can't be diagnosed with personality disorder or how she doesn't really fit the criteria for this or that mental illness, but it's not and will never be the same to try to diagnose her as to do it to a real human being.
there's a part where LO says that the story of the incest game doesn't face her by showing a panel of pokemadhouse where... i assume Lizzy? is yelling insults to CLO through the phone while CMO asks "who's talking to you like that? that isn't your ex, is it?" and because it's just that one panel, i imagine that it is. so the implication would be that LO doesn't care about the cannibalism or the implications of incesy (shocking, right?), but the moment in which the siblings are mean to each other and insult one another, that's when she can't take it because she had ex that yelled insults to her.... i guess. idk.
"kill your abusers, Andrew, it's good for you." unless they have children just at the right age as your sibling when you first started molesting them all those years ago. then forgive your abusers, Andrew. silence their victims too, just so you have a chance at a new incestuous love.
reference to the folgers incest add. not even chuckled.
these are the reason why someone would want to kill leyley
Tumblr media
replace brother with younger sibling and you got it, some classic LO projection. but you're still entirely wrong on one thing, LO. nobody wants to kill you and you know that too. just admit that you're a incestuous abuser that needs high, minor, medium large and extensive actual real therapy.
13. LO remarking on how weird the game treating the two siblings arguing as "lovers spat" is so weird because she's the one who treated Courtney calling her out as a bitter ex. even down to keep talking bad about the ex of Courtney that he had when abandoning their parent's house, calling him an "actual pedophile" despite their age gap being just two years.
14. so she knows how weird it is to keep talking about her sibling in sexual context. she knows how bad it is to make jokes about Courtney being raped. she knows how obssesive and toxic she has been since Courtney spoke out... and she still does it. proudly. i know i'm saying nothing new here, but LO is a really bad person. not because she does bad things without knowing, but because she does them knowing.
15. LO is relating the story of the game completely skipping the part in which you can have the siblings... not commit any incest at all. yes, the weird implication were there from the start, but weird implications aren't actual incest regardless of how uncomfortable they can make individual people. you have to actually go out of your way to reach that path. she's presenting it as if this was a clear linear story path and it's not, and i have a suspicion that is the point of the game that LO is completely missing. that these two are horrible toxic characters, but ultimately they still have a choice on how their relationship can become and you as a player can get them there or not. because one thing she didn't mention either is that this story is devided in chapters and there's still others coming, so this is an incomplete story. i'm not the dev or anything like that, but if i have to guess anything about the plot my idea is that this whole story can only end in tragedy and probably neither of the siblings will survive. it's your choice as a player if that end includes actually touching your sibling or not. i guess we all know which ending LO would prefer. but it still bothers me because there's a reason why the dev made it a choice at all instead of just a inevitable part of the story. there's a reason why you can skip that and i won't claim to know what is that reason, but ignore that just so you can posture is still so gross for me.
16. "the artstyle of a potterhead that watched Black Butler"????????????? what does this even mean???? plus. LO, do you really want to play that game? do you really want to keep bashing people with anime inspired artstyles when pokemadhouse is literally just that + your own terrible ideas of what "correct proportions" is supposed to be? do you think i haven't noticed that it has been a while since you displayed your avatar in any of your videos? the one that was made for free by your wife and everyone called out as being clearly anime inspired? were you tired of being calling you out the obvious hypocrisy everytime you made those "jokes" or did you get tired of pretend like you liked it in the first place?
17. "i have seen more shocking content". i know. you were the one who brought rape lay and a game about touching the bodies of underaged characters in your video about SVTFOE. i didn't even know about the last one until i reverse searched the image you put out. and yet, you still couldn't think of bringing any other example of "shocking content" to clickbait people with on the thumbnail that two games that people stopped talking about years ago. more than that... what do you think you're doing insisting "this doesn't shock me" with this game? has it ever occured to you that it's main goal is not to shock you? has that ever being declared as being the main goal on any of this? did it never occured to you that the author has a story to tell? even while giving your summary of the whole game to pad the run time and trick people into thinking you have anything to say (seriously, the summary alone is almost half of this video lol). this is exactly like when you insisted that Disney was to blame for creating "romantic chemistry" between Anna and Elsa, but then had the audacity to say that the fandom was the one who was gross while the movie itself was "lovely" (even though you believed it to have "accidental" incest so... you were the one saying a story about incestuous sister was lovely. what a surprise.) the thing is, it's not making you look tough, clever or even "knowledgeable" to say "see this narrative about toxic siblings who cannabilize people doesn't shock". the knowledgeable is already shot with how very little do you know the indie game scene, or the gaming community in general, that you can only think of three games in decades who have shocking content. insisting that this story only looks to shock people and you weren't shocked doesn't say anything about the story itself. it just tells me how boring you're that you believe it makes you interesting you saw more "shocking" content before. 18. "by the way my askbox was filled about this game i expected more." oh. you're not going to say why people started to bring out to you the game that became infamous because of the incest? you're not going to even try to mention how or why incest media just coincidentally, totally against your will, keeps appearing around you? i guess we're also going to ignore how those "hundreds" of ask were... three or four asks that all write and type exactly the same as you. one of them coming from one of your own know sockpuppet accounts. 19. "this game promotes itself as one thing and turns out that is about another." sounds similar to promoting a webcoming as a "slice of lice about a pokemon trainer living in her home with wacky characters", but then you just had to add child molestation with mind altering consequences, quasi incest and rampant abuse apologia of actual immoral monsters. at least the incest game is honest about it being horror. it doesn't try to sell itself as a "wholesome" story about anything, like someone i know.
20. now that i think about it, she only complains about the artstyle when she has Ashley on inscreen. she doesn't say anything about Andrew despite being the same artstyle? she keeps making jabs at how ashley is "not like other girls", about how she thinks she's "quirky" and it's just weird to me that she only does that for her, but nobody else in the game. 21. LO does really goes into a very long diatribe about the kind of mindset that Ashley has, about how the puzzles are actually great, about how it explores the psychology of these characters... and still keeps insisting that there's nothing else about the game. the math isn't mathing. does it have any depth or it doesn't? also that constant "why the rest of the game couldn't be like this".... because the puzzles wouldn't have any meaning at all without the story? isn't that an obvious enough response? 22. "the easiest path to get past incestuous attractiong is being willing to do so." oh. and i guess you're the expert on that one, LO. do you actually not understand how alarming those phrases come off? nobody normal talks like this, LO, i'm sorry i have to be the one to tell you. nobody talks like having incestuous attraction is just as common as having general trauma. not even Courtney does that and you're the one who claims that he's obsessed with you! pity you clearly still haven't moved past that or you'd stop publishing rape jokes about your sister. 23. "this is a game about two awful people and we see them get worse." yes. that is a compelling narrative for people. if nothing else, for the watching a trainwreck effect. some people want to see the world burn in a safe environment where nobody actually gets hurt, as in fiction. it might not be interesting for you (who has more an issue about them being mean and snapping to each other than to them being incestuous mutually, btw), but that is something people find interesting. sometimes people like different things and you don't liking them doesn't mean anything about the quality of the thing. kids in fifth grade understand this already. 24. LO said that Ashley is made of a bunch of anime tropes and Pearl is actually the better version of those tropes. i'm just going to leave that out there and the world can decide what to do with it.
25. "i missed this part of the footage and i had to stole it, i'm not playing that again". wait, who did you steal it from? did you asked permission at least? i don't see any credit or anything. if you use gameplay footage from someone else, yes, it's the bare minimum type of courtesy ask for permission and then credit them. this is the same thing when you use fanart of people who didn't made for you. that's still the work of someone else. LO just flat out admitted that she stole footage from someone else.
26. LO boldly claim that the writing of the game is wrong because Ashley is the main character and she doesn't have a lot of deph... while at the same time saying that Andrew (the one who... also appears in the title of the game?) has. LO still doesn't understand the concept of co-protagonist, does she?
27. then it follows a long diatribe about a movie about some guy and a girl who go in a rampage because American Idol. i didn't pick up the name but... good on LO for finally referencing something else that isn't SU or Star Wars.
still too long and she just gets lost on her sauce so much that i don't even know what is her point anymore. 28. just about in general... it's rich how LO says that Ashley being a violent person or the man on that movie being violent makes them pathetic and boring, when she was the one who claimed she kicked a online stalker in front of her building and stabbed some MAGA guy in the streets. not to mention the woman who adviced to children that they should bash the heads of their bullies with the heaviest object they can find. i don't even disagree that people who take pride in being unhinged violent dangerous peoeple are not that interesting as they thing themselves to be. but LO's very much one of those people. that's why she keeps writing her "obviously heroic" OC starwars killing people left and right without facing any consequences.
29. "amab siblings being abused by afab sibling is not a story that is often taken seriously, and believe me i know that from personal experience." said the woman who bragged for years about beating the shit out of her younger sibling and leaving them crying on the floor after punching them in the gut 15 times. again, your only real concrete examples of Courtney "abusing you" is: burned your pokemon cards when kids and didn't want to play with you. that's what you publicly and openly have claimed as examples of Courtney being abusive to you. you yourself haven't really bothered to explain anymore of this "abuse". can you really blame people when they doubt that claim? especially when you have been cuaght in so many other lies before? no, LO, the reason people believe Courtney over you is not because you're amab and he's afab. it's because you have done nothing else but give out red flags since you first became online and keep giving out more everytime you even talk about Courtney. Courtney's story fits you like a glove. yours look like trying to put a glove into a foot.
(just like your story of claiming to have survived cancer last year, btw) 30. "the people who like this game think they're on the outside, but there's nothing more inside than someone selling what you like in retail"... is LO actually comparing an indie game, made in RPG maker, by a solo person, with mainstream gaming? if she is, that is an insult to the intelligence of everyone who had to hear it and i feel like i lost braincells for it. it's so utterly and obviously wrong that i'm actually speechless. this is like comparing Ib, another RPG maker games that people adored and has a cult classic, with Final Fantasy or even Mario. the indie scene is miles different than the mainstream gaming scene. i can't believe this is something i have even to say.
31. "it has never been an easier time to become a publisher author or an indie developer for that matter." indeed. because there's an indie scene for it. because people can selfpublish. and neither of those people has the same mass appeal, power or influence as mainstream media that is back up by an actual company. LO acts as if the fact people can make money out of their creations that puts them on the same level as professionals who're hired to do those jobs. no, LO. when you were creating those boring RPG games in which you gave people NSFW works of ponies as a reward for breaking the minds of character, you weren't a dev on the same value as the guy who made the games you liked. you were just a boring adult with a porn addiction and some minor knowledge of coding. nothing else. 32. "the only way to make a dark story effective is when you make it in earnest, when you have the characters happy to do it but you know it's the worst thing to them" wait. wait. wait. is this LO saying that the only issue that she has with the incest game... is that it's not more open and gleeful about the incest? i think that's what she's saying. i actually don't know what other conclusion i'm supposed to take from it. when she talks about the game showing the post incest scene, she goes "finally! we can stop dancing around this like we did the last four hours." so the issue is not the incest, it's that the people involved aren't joyful and happy about it. it's that the incest isn't more cover and came sooner.
like in Frozen. my earlier point was right then. her only real issue is that the siblings are mean to each other, not that they could fuck each other. i guess i'm not really surprised out of the woman who called the incestuous relationships "the purest form of love that there can be." this is exactly what i mean when i say that Courtney's story fits you. because only someone who only views incest as positive would say something like that and let that be their conclusion about the incest game. 33. this is a personal nitpick, but i especially do not like how LO insist that you can't make horror out of a tragedy. just say that you never read horror or even understand what horror is. almost the entire filmography of Mike Flanagan is horror that is about familial tragedy at it's core: the tragedy of losing family, the tragedy of chosing power over love, the tragedy of trauma, the tragedy of religion, etc, etc. tragedy is at the core of many beautiful works of horror. hereditary is about a cult interferring with a family, but also it's about grief, generational trauma and the tragedy of these character being destroyed by it all. 34. the conclusion is officially just salad words about how anime is bad, how animation that is "dark and mature" is bad, how everyone is wrong about everything and she's always right. something about jeffrey dahmer, the series and the people talking about it was disrespectful to the victims and their families... i don't know why. to try to say again smugly "this isn't shocking, this is just bad"? i do find funny how she spend at least 10 minutes of this video total saying "this doesn't shock me, this is boring to me, i have seen more shocking stuff", while she ends up saying about how the people who claim were not affected by the jeffrey dahmer show and wanted more gore are pathetic losers. she just keeps describing herself and insulting herself alone. nobody cares that incest doesn't shock you, LO. we know that already, it's part of the allegations. you're not helping your case confirming that we're right.
35. so in the minute 43: 54 flashes this screenshot:
Tumblr media
for the record i censored the user. LO didn't. LO openly just published this screenshot from a random user and claim that they're lying about being a incest survivor. LO just grabbed a innocent person who never interacted with her, who never said a word about her, exposed their name for her entire audience to go find and harass and she just erased whatever trauma this person could be dealing with. again, LO doesn't know this person. the only post of them that LO could have seen is this one. and this one is enough to convince LO that they're lying about their trauma only to get a pass for shipping two characters. this is despicable behavior. if i have to convince you of how this bad it is, then i can't help you, because i think it should be plenty of an explanation.
i'm not going to bother with the rest. i'm done. this was a waste of time and a disgusting one at that only used to keep making her little pity part about Courtney for having the gall of not being happily incet with her. don't watch the video directly from her, download it with any of the link on my pin or any other method. don't go search that user. don't bother anyone LO mentioned.

Michael Before Midnight: "Houdini" by Eminem
youtube
Eminem is one of the most controversial rappers of all time, and this reputation isn’t entirely undeserved. I mean, the man has an entire song that’s just six straight minutes of him acting out violently murdering his ex. Uncontroversial artists do not make songs like that. But I think people do give him a lot of shit and really try to underplay his genuine talent too, mainly because of how a lot of his work just hasn’t aged great.
You have to understand the time and place Em rose out of. The 90s was all about being nasty and politically incorrect, and the rap scene reflected that. The rise of gangster rap had guys talking about how cool the thug life was, and there were all sorts of vulgar tunes being cranked out (“Pregnant Pussy” is from the 90s, if that tells you anything). As a white boy in a cutthroat industry where black men are the kings being taken under the wing of the man who produced “Fuck tha Police,” Marshall Mathers really wasn’t gonna do anything other than assimilate into the culture of the time to survive. And it worked; he’s pretty much the only white rapper besides maybe the Beastie Boys who has kept a long and generally well-liked career. He played by the rules, made sure to acknowledge his place, kept his ego in check outside his songs, collaborated with the right people, and boom! Rap has its token white boy.
But the edgy violent white boy schtick that made Slim Shady so funny and… “endearing” back in the day is not really something people like in 2024. Since the 90s, edgy white boys like the Slim character have shot up schools, sexually assaulted women and gotten away with it, openly supported fascism, and whined about queer people and black people being in Star Wars. No one fucking likes a Slim because they’ve been ruining our world for a while now, so this character who was once a beloved aspect of Em’s career just doesn’t sit right with the people of today. Add onto the fact that he’s a middle aged man, and he can’t just be doing the same crap all these years later without looking like the cringiest man alive, a rapping Elon Musk. With all that, and the fact his upcoming album is called The Death of Slim Shady, you’d think maybe he’d drop a single to showcase how he’s evolved over his career, how his sobriety and fatherhood have changed him, and how the Slim persona is well and truly in the past.
Instead he released “Houdini.”
For better or for worse, this is a return to that classic late 90s/early 2000s Slim style, with everything that implies. Get ready for lots of references, offensive jokes, and more, cuz I’m going line by line to talk about the content of Slim Shady’s final comeback. And while I am going to analyze some of the lamer and more questionable jokes, I want to make it clear that I understand the Slim character is satirical and whatever. I'm not fucking dumb, and I've been listening to Eminem for 24 years now. Being satire is not an excuse to be unfunny.
After an ominous skit where Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg tells him he’s own his own for this album, we have an intro to kick the song off:
Guess who’s back, back again? Shady’s back, tell a friend Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? (Da-da-da, da, da, da, da, da, da) (Da-da-da, da, da, da, da)
As should be obvious to anyone with a passing knowledge of Eminem, this is a reuse of the intro of his classic “Without Me.” This is a double-edged sword; on the one hand, it is a fun little callback to his earlier career and helps once more establish that he’s bringing it like he did back then. But on the other hand, you’re reminding the audience of one of your best songs right off off the bat, so if this one doesn’t live up to that, you’re in for a world of hurt.
Now’s also a good time to mention that the song heavily samples “Abracadabra” by the Steve Miller Band. From what I’ve gathered, a lot of people find that song unbelievably corny… but that’s why I love it. And I mean, the song’s called “Houdini,” so why not sample the massive smash hit song that’s named after the famous magic words? Again, for me at least, sampling a song I already love means you’re gonna have to really kick it into high gear to make me want to listen to yours over what you’re sampling. There’s about a million songs that sample “When the Levee Breaks,” but how many of those do you think I’m putting on over Led Zeppelin, y’know?
Well, look what the stork brung (What?) Little baby devil with the forked tongue And it's stickin' out, yeah, like a sore thumb (Bleh) With a forehead that it grew horns from (Look) Still a white jerk (It's him), pullin' up in a Chrysler to the cypher With the Vics, Percs and a Bud Light shirt Lyrical technician (Yeah), an electrician (Yeah) Y'all light work (Haha) And I don't gotta play pretend, it's you I make believe (What?) And you know I'm here to stay 'cause me (Why?) If I was to ever take a leave (What?) It would be aspirin' to break a feve' (Yeah)
So far it’s been pretty solid. It’s pretty clear Em’s still got it, great flow, delivery, subtle nods to his past work, boasts about his skills, talking about how he started from the bottom… It’s nothing really groundbreaking, but it’s at least continuing the idea that Slim is back, baby! I sure hope he doesn’t derail his momentum in the next couple of lines with a stupid, cringeworthy jab at a woman who literally never did anything to him!
If I was to ask for Megan Thee (What?) Stallion if she would collab with me Would I really have a shot at a feat? (Haha) I don't know, but I'm glad to be back like
Tumblr media
So a little context here, for those not in the know: In 2022, rapper Megan Thee Stallion accused fellow rapper Tory Lanez of shooting at her feet and saying, “Dance, bitch, dance” like he’s a comic book mobster. The case was taken to court, where Lanez was found guilty and then sentenced to up to 22 years in jail. Now, the two have shouted out each other before—Em interpolataed the hook of Megan’s song “Body” in 2021’s “Killer (Remix),” while Megan referenced “The Real Slim Shady” on her feature on Lil Nas X’s “DOLLA SIN SLIME”--but I’m not really sure the two are close to the point where it’s cool for Em to jokingly reference the time some psychopath acted like a Batman villain to her. The fact Megan’s 2024 diss track “Hiss” referenced Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed,” which was about Eminem, does make me side-eye this bar.
But hey, one corny, cringey joke is whatever. Let’s see how the rest of the song goes:
Abra-abracadabra (And for my last trick) I'm 'bout to reach in my bag, bruh (Like) Abra-abracadabra (And for my last trick, poof) Just like that and I'm back, bro
So this is the chorus, and I have to say it’s incredibly lazy and boring. It’s just an Eminem-themed parody of the original chorus, and it’s not especially interesting. That being said, by token of being a chorus of a song I already like just with lyrical alterations, I don’t think it’s bad either. I just expect a little more cleverness from Eminem.
Now, back in the days of old me (When?) Right around the time I became a dope fiend (Oh) Ate some codeine as a way of coping (Mm) Taste of opiates, case of O.E. Turned me into smiley face emoji (Woo)
Here, now we’re back on track! Em is reflecting on his old self and talking about his drug-addled early career! Surely he’ll stay the course here and dig deep into his manic persona that was partly created by his addictions, and not veer off into alt-right talking points and child abuse jokes!
My shit may not be age-appropriate But I will hit an eight-year-old in the face with a participation trophy 'Cause I have zero doubts That this whole world's 'bout To turn into some girl scouts That censorship bureau's out to (Shut me down) So when I started this verse It did start off lighthearted at first (Hmm) But it feels like I'm targeted
Tumblr media
Hoo boy, we’re whining about how “sensitive” the world is becoming and how censorship is coming to get you! Eminem is going full boomer now. But hey, maybe he has a point! You can’t sing songs where you violently murder the mother of your child and then abduct said child anymore, because of woke. You can’t rap about mass shootings right after they happen either, also because of woke. Whatever, grandpa. Let’s see if you have anything of actual substance.
Mind-bogglin' how my profit has skyrocketed Look what I pocketed Yeah, the shit is just like y'all had been light joggin', and I've been runnin' at full speed And that's why I'm ahead like my noggin', and I'm the fight y'all get in When you debate who the best, but opps, I'm white chalkin' when I step up to that mic, cock it then "Oh my God, it's him! Not again!"
Just some pre-chorus boasting topped off with a throwback to his song “As the World Turns.” It doesn’t completely erase the bad taste of his whiny boomerisms out of your mouth, but it’s at least something.
Sometimes, I wonder what the old me'd say (If what?) If he could see the way shit is today (Look at this shit, man) He'd probably say that everything is gay (Like happy) What's my name? What's my name? (Slim Shady)
Em’s had a long, troubled reputation with queerness. He came under a lot of fire for homophobia back in the day, but then his friendship with Elton John happened. There’s also his brief appearance in the Seth Rogen movie The Interview, where he plays himself as a closeted gay man. Even still, he’s often used queerness as jokes in his songs, mainly as an attempt to emasculate his opponents (something he even did to an actual queer rapper, Tyler the Creator). As a bisexual man myself, I do find it tasteless in general, but in the context of this song I thing it’s ok. Like yeah, the homophobic crackhead Slim Shady persona would call the world we live in gay. The line still feels a little weird, though; is the Slim persona actually singing this song, or is this Em reflecting on the Slim persona? It kind of muddies the water, and makes it hard to figure just how seriously we’re supposed to be taking everything here.
So how many little kids still wanna act like me? (Haha) I'm a bigger prick than cacti be (Yeah) And that's why these (What?) Words sting just like you were being attacked by bees (Bzz) In the coupe, leaning back my seat (What?) Bumpin' R. Kelly's favorite group (Uh), the black guy (Guy) pees (Pees, haha) In my Air Max 90s White Ts, walkin' parental advisory
Verse three starts off pretty good! The R. Kelly joke is extremely juvenile and crass, but that’s the sort of thing I enjoy from Slim. It may be low-hanging fruit, but that’s the fruit you wanna grab the most. Now what wacky sort of humor is Slim going to bring to this verse next? Surely he won’t make some incredibly stupid and corny joke that isn’t funny in the slightest and derails the whole song!
My transgender cat's Siamese (Why?) Identifies as black, but acts Chinese (Haha)
Tumblr media
According to Genius, this line might actually be a reference to a Dave Chapelle bit from 2019’s Sticks & Stones. If that’s the case, I really don’t need to say much more. There’s no way to read this line in anything other than the worst possible light.
Like a motherfuckin' Hacky Sack, I treat (What?) The whole world 'cause I got it at my feet (Yeah) How can I explain to you (What?) That even myself I'm a danger to? (Yeah) I hop on tracks like a kangaroo And say a few things or two to anger you
So he does openly admit he says fucked up stuff to get a rise out of people. Going in to the song, I knew this. The guy’s a provocateur, it’s what he does, and the Slim persona has always been about being as flagrantly offensive as possible. But the thing is, even the stuff here I’m taking issue with doesn’t make me mad; I’m more disappointed than anything, really. Like he has to know that times have changed and people really aren’t all in on this sort of humor anymore, right? What is the point of bringing Slim back to a world that has evolved beyond him, even if to finally kill him off? If that’s what he wanted to do he could do it without trying to showcase the dated humor. This is the musical equivalent of watching an 80s sex comedy like Porky’s or Revenge of the Nerds. Like maybe it was funny way back when, but looking back at it through a modern lens it’s just really gross and unpleasant and full of terrible messages.
But fuck that, if I think that shit, I'ma say that shit Cancel me, what? Okay, that's it Go ahead, Paul, quit, snake-ass prick You male cross dresser (Haha), fake-ass bitch And I'll probably get shit for that (Watch) But you can all suck my dick, in fact Fuck them, fuck Dre, fuck Jimmy, fuck me, fuck you Fuck my own kids, they're brats (Fuck 'em) They can screw off (Yeah), them and you all (Uh) You too, Paul (Punk), got two balls Big as RuPaul's (Woah) What you thought you saw ain't what you saw (Nah) 'Cause you're never gon' see me Caught sleepin' and see the kidnappin' never did happen Like Sherri Papini, Harry Houdini I vanish into the thin air as I'm leavin' like
The rest of the final verse, save for another tired shot at cancel culture, is fine. I might even say it’s a bit funny; I like him taking at shot at Dre, himself, everyone he’s worked with, his own kids… That part is where it is really obvious the whole thing is tongue-in-cheek, because he is by all accounts a good and loving dad. Making fun of RuPaul and Papini are fine in my book too.
So I’ve been pretty critical of this song and rather unamused by a lot of its jokes. This must mean I hate it, right? Well… no. I can’t say I love it, but I really don’t think this is awful. Trust me, I’ve heard awful Eminem and this isn’t it. “Just Lose It” and “We Made You” are light years ahead of this song in terms of awfulness. On top of that, this is also the first single off of an album that’s all about killing Slim—I don’t really have the full context. For all I know, this could be part of an overarching concept of the album, Slim’s last ride before his inevitable death, and in that regard this is definitely a perfect modern take on the classic Slim Shady song, warts and all. We just live in a world where his kind of humor doesn’t age badly, it just ends up dead on arrival more often than not.
If nothing else, it still showcases Eminem has great flow, great wit, clever writing… and that’s what he should stick to instead of making tired, unfunny boomer jokes about cancel culture and queer people just to rile people up. Hopefully that’s what the rest of the album will be like when it drops. I doubt I’m going to review every single song on it since I’m no Todd in the Shadows and my musical knowledge is very casual, but maybe I’ll give my opinions. Until that time, though, I think I’ll just listen to “Venom” again.

woe plague be upon ye, I’m sorry for spam liking your posts. Also, do you have info on your tf2 ocs (background, fighting styles, relationships, etc.)? I have some ocs of my own and I love hearing about other people’s!
woke up to like 17 notifications this morning /pos
anyways YES I DO (AND i have three more that i havent posted about yet) thank you for asking
Cloak is a very... weird kid honestly idk theres something OFF about him sometimes. He's very silent especially when he doesn't mean to be, the others have tried to get him to wear a bell so they don't get jumpscared by him out of nowhere. He is also Engineer's nephew on his mom's side (yes i made up a sister for dell shhhuut up shshshh) and she very much DIDN'T want him around anymore same with his dad so they kinda just gave him to dell something something he ended up on RED team as a mercenary from then on. He has major trust issues, random panic attacks and doesn't remember his parents. Like at all, only sometimes looks at an old picture of his mom before she had him so he just goes off of that. Good news is he at LEAST takes care of his body and works out often. Sleeps anywhere he can though, slept in a box for a straight week once. He has a boyfriend (GASP!!!) back in Texas he regularly keeps in touch with. He's parkour-based, stealthy and has a direct approach to attacking. Offense class.
Assailant is a closed off person ESPECIALLY emotionally, he rarely ever talks to anyone unless he has to. He is very unappreciated as a mercenary/assassin and will go to intense lengths for recognition among anyone. He is very emo and sad and emo. He looks like a soggy piece of cardboard or a wet cat. Nothing much else besides he loves cats, will 100% be that one crazy cat lady neighbor. Familial issues, yes another one. Pansexual but not the best with dating. (how are you pansexual but get no game😭) Similar to Sniper fighting wise. Very distant, i.e. crossbow. Support class.
Blade also known as Bladesmith. Workaholic, like rarely leaves the workshop, SOMETIMES eats and lives off of coffee and spite. He makes and repairs weapons, mainly axes swords and knives or anything else that has a sharp edge. Very creative, very much doesn't take care of himself much, "i'm working out, carrying heavy boxes and shit is enough". Not much known about his family. Bisexual, that's it. Direct approach to fighting, helps with healing. Defense class.
Piercer ran away from Romania with a shit ton of money and managed to land a job as a mercenary/assassin. Self-proclaimed "NOT" a vampire. 50/50 probably a vampire, all everyone is concerned about is that he's gothic, edgy and likes fancy shit. And money, don't forget the money. Gay middle aged man. Stealthy, silent and is similar to Spy with fighting. Support class.
Can you tell who i favor more /JOKE!!!

just curious, as a swiftie how did you feel about taylor’s short lived “relationship” w matty healy? what about her association w him for some years prior? constructive criticism allowed, im a swiftie too lol
my feelings about the entire thing are very complicated and ranty so i'll put them under a cut
i have never felt like taylor was the paragon of social ~wokeness~ or whatever you want to call it, but i did make a lot of excuses for her. i was very cautiously hopeful that while she was a flaky and rather fair-weather activist, she meant well and she meant what she said that she stood for (when she actually chose to speak) at the end of the day and that's what mattered the most. and taylor positioned herself as somebody who was anti-racist, who was anti-misogyny, who was anti-bigot in general, and she did so of her own volition. so it felt very.. bizarre? that she was willing to dismantle her alleged belief system to spend time with a man who prides himself on his cruelty and gets a kick out of punching down. and i fully take responsibility for, i guess, like buying into the persona that she was selling, but at the same time, it was very eye-opening because i was sitting with the fact that she had profited off of promoting herself as "miss americana, the activist" then turned around and started dating a guy who uses slurs for funsies and watches violent racist pornography.
everything about matty made me call taylor's character into question just by association. if he makes racist jokes on podcasts and uses ableist slurs on social media, what's he like to have a conversation with? and she was enjoying his company? last time i hung out with a guy who had a edgy 12-year-old-boy in a COD lobby sense of humor and he made one offensive joke, i got up and left and he never heard from me again. like how do you hang out with someone like that and NOT get the ick? i don't know, it just made me look at taylor kind of differently.
and then while everything is going on and everyone is talking about how her man is a racist and a creep, taylor's busy having her publicist plant inflammatory articles about her ex-boyfriend and how none of the backlash bothers taylor because she's a girlboss and none of it affects her bottom line. it felt very weird. on one side, it felt like joe alwyn was being made a distraction and a scapegoat, and on the other it felt like a middle finger to fans who were rightfully upset with her (and a poor attempt to girlbossify a moment when taylor was truly in the wrong). i don't really see taylor the way that i used to, for better and for worse, and i probably never will. i still love her but i regard her actions of the past and present (and future??) more critically, and no longer make excuses or offer more grace for her being ignorant than i would for anyone else.

Is it true you don't like anything from Grant Morrison, or just the man himself at all?
I don't think I've mentioned my thoughts on Grant Morrison here but I do really love Grant Morrison's early DC work, in particular Animal Man being one of my favorite comics of all time, but I find their later work to be so terrible that I consider it my least favorite comics of all time. I blame this on the running themes of Metatextuality and a sort of reconstructivist ideology in Morrison's work that has ended up completely antithetical to what i desire from comics.
While the absurdist ruminations on the nature of fiction in Animal Man made for an amazing and radical sort of comic that deconstructed a lot about both superheroes and the relationship between fiction and reality, over time their work fell into what to me feels like just very shallow and uninteresting narratives that frequently fall into the same traps as like, redditors and youtube theorists, where it doesn't really have that much to say beyond "woah... this is a work of fiction and we're breaking the fourth wall!!!!!1111" and "superheroes are actually super cool and should never be criticized". The top examples i can think of are their Batman run, which brought back several concepts but in ways that felt shallow (was it really that necessary to bring back the Batman of Zurr-En-Arrh as an edgy violent alternate personality?), meanspirited (Son of the Demon being brought into canon, but retconning Bruce and Talia's loving relationship to... that.), or even offensive (if you're going to make a modern version of the Batmen of all Nations, even if you're going to be rewriting them to attempt to make more realistic and progressive incarnations of them is it really necessary to keep the more offensive designs, and redesign others to be even more offensive? I don't think they had people of color on hand for that stuff...). Meanwhile there's the multiverse stuff that I just really can't bring myself to care about, that kind of thing is already really boring for me personally and though Morrison tries to make more meaningful narrative in them that narrative is just "Aren't superheroes really epic and cool?"
There's also the fact that regardless of being nonbinary Morrison hasn't really had the best track record when it comes to depicting minority groups. I already mentioned the Batmen of all Nations but there's them turning Talia into a misogynistic and somewhat racist stereotype, and Professor Pyg, who's Buffalo Bill-type queercoding is so offensive that I genuinely can't stomach it as a character. This is more controversial, but I feel this even about A Serious House on Serious Earth, both in the character of Mad Dog but also in the comic's general depiction of Batman's rogues' gallery not as characters of their own but as caricatures of mental illness existing primarily as foils for Batman's personal conflicts, which bled into the comics and kind of became a defining part of Batman as a franchise and its frequent usage of psychological themes.
Morrison also has a particularly unfortunate flaw in that theyre kind of... redditbrained. They're famous for their personal theory on the ending of the Killing Joke of how it actually represents Batman finally breaking his one rule and killing the Joker, despite how the comic very clearly frames the moment as the one last moment of understanding the two will ever have. There's also Morrison's idea of all Batman media being true, and justifying it as the sillier parts of Batman being caused by... him and Robin being on drugs. They've literally said that.
My main like, ideological opposition to Morrison though is in their reconstructivist themes and the way they place superheroes as like gods to be aspired to. I certainly fall closer to Moore when it comes to my perspective on comics and while I don't think they're beyond salvation Morrison simply isn't doing them any favors. I just don't want to see comics about how epic Batman and Superman are or whatever, I want to see more radical stuff that breaks down superhero comics as a whole. By all means I like seeing the weird reinvention of old concepts, but being so stuck in the past is just kind of, stupid.

Okay so rvb is not like hazbin in any way i can assure you that but it is vulgar (albeit funnier about it) and those have "edgy" comedy as a result of being made in 2003.
Red vs blue starts out as a comedy skit made in halo and is honestly? really unique as a show because of it. Since Halo has a lot of limitations on what you can do on-screen the entire show hindges on being entertaining soley through dialouge and that means giving every character an interesting personality so that everyone has a entertaining dyanmic with each other. and so they manage to make silly "daily life" convos entertaining, like arguing if you say monkeying around or monkeying about. and the comedic timing? fucking brilliant im amazed a majority of the cast aren't professional VAs because everything seems so organic
Red Team and Blue team have been told to kill each other, but as soldiers they're too stupid and incompetent to actually do so and instead get into a bunch of shenanigans. The first five seasons are very silly and low-stakes before shit hits the fucking fan in season 6. not to mention the soundtrack and fight scenes being INCREDIBLY creative and well-timed
the show deals with a lot of different themes like how grief can destroy you if you don't learn to move on. Questioning the military complex and the hierarchy set in place by capitalism and how people in power will always throw away human lives in pursit of more power. Humanity and someones lack of, can AI learn to be human? can humans forget their humanity? learning how to see enemies as real people, and that hating someone because you've been told to hinders progress. Sometimes there isn't a good or bad. sometimes you've just hurt others simply for being different from you. and above all that forgiveness of one self and forgiveness of others is the only way forward. a person can't grow surronded by hate.
Does it have flaws? yeah ofc, as a fandom we love to make jokes and complain abt how the show could've done better. But i genuinely don't think there's anything like rvb, its one of a kind.
Also this ended up being ALOT longer than i meant for it to be.......oops. but i guess its a testament of how much love i have for the show. So imo i think its worthwhile if you can handle early 2000's offensiveness and the plot being nonexistent for a while. Also the show SEEMS long (13 seasons) but the episodes are so short that the seasons are basically just 1-2 hours long. like a movie, so uh yeah! and if you have any more questions im always open to talk more abt it ^_^
AAAAAAA ALRIGHTY!!!! i think i can handle that, ill put it on my watchlist it sounds interesting!

Were you the person in the secret annex online rip?
For obvious reasons I don't want to be drawing attention to this video, so I will not be tagging this post with my usual tags for Q&A stuff, but it turns out I do have a lot to say.
Content warning for nazi stuff.
Yes, this was me! Let me tell you the full story of how this rip came to be:
At the time, backroom was trying to think of what to do for 4/20 the second time around, since we already celebrated weed the first time. 2017 was kind of the height of SiIva backroom considering "edgy" humour really really funny so it was quickly decided that we would be celebrating Adolf Hitler's birthday. The twist, however, was that only a small number of rips uploaded would be relevant at all, and that they would all be implicit references. AKA, you wouldn't think that these rips are connected to Hitler if not for the fact that they were all uploaded on his birthday. The only exception to this was to be the planned finale rip, a character-dedicated Snow halation rip featuring the tyrannical dictator himself. This ended up going up on Flustered Fernando, I believe, under the title "Mein Theme - World War II".
On the day itself, I happened to be on my way home from school, and we had some balloons there, I think leftover from someone's birthday the day before. It was then that I got the idea to make this video, since the Anne Frank house was pretty easy to reach. After checking whether there was some possible viable metadata I could upload it under, I wrote "HBD 4/20" on the balloon, walked next to the Anne Frank house and put it down on the ground, filming all of it. When I got home I quickly edited it all together and posted the video.
At the time, I don't think I was very worried about the way this video would be seen. I considered it to be pretty tame even for an offensive joke, because noone had even seen it happen. Nobody but me would know what was on that balloon or what it even meant, and I didn't take it very seriously, because in my eyes it wasn't.
But when it's uploaded to a YouTube channel with (at the time) 156 thousand subscribers, it sends a different message. A message saying "yes, we're okay with celebrating someone who represents the murder of 6 million jews," and "we're willing to take our jokes offline," which is a VERY dangerous message to send. I consider us lucky the video mostly went under the radar and didn't attract the kind of people who would be down with that to our community.
And that's where the video stayed for the next 3 years; under the radar. After I stopped caring about impressing my "edgy" friends, I wasn't very happy about the video staying up, but I didn't exactly want to draw attention to it by taking it down. A bit unreasonable, I really should have just taken it down at that point, even if that meant it would have turned into one of those notorious SiIva lost media cases. Anyway, I removed the video in 2020, and that's the end of the story.
While the contents of the video may have been fairly tame, only depicting minor criminal activity (at least, I don't think littering counts as a hate crime??), it was a lot more about the message it sent than the events it depicted, and I'm happy it's gone. I've been speaking pretty objectively and retrospectively about it up until now, but I feel it would be remiss of me not to say how I feel about it now: I'm sorry to anyone who saw this video, recognized the message it was sending, and felt any degree of uncomfortable. If this video or any of the culture surrounding it put you off SiIvaGunner or made you feel like you wouldn't belong in the community around the channel, I'm really sorry. I hope you'll give it a second chance. If you saw this video and wish SiIva would go back to its former "edgy" glory, kindly fuck off.
Lastly, a few closing remarks. You may be wondering why I even bothered answering this ask instead of just ignoring it and letting the video rest in obscurity. Well, I don't like shying away from or hiding parts of my past. I much prefer to acknowledge that it happened, what I learned from it and how I improved. However, please don't take this as an invitation to highlight this as one of my contributions on the SiIvaGunner Wiki. I'd rather not see my name in the little infobox on the article, so I guess consider the video disowned.

in my opinion i don’t really blame pokii or bear for getting upset about milo’s part in the original psa. pokii wasn’t even a mod anymore at the time. and the overall content the og (even current) psa contained had nothing to do with her (therefore it was weird to throw pokii under the bus in there at random so i see why she got angry). she is a cham admin after all so im sure this wasn’t good for her image. shes still an admin tho so im sure the cham staff already knows the situation. the psa was mostly issues with bug and coy, and the bearsproutz / ponyzilla incident. i do remember the unorganized shitshow of the og psa and saw the comments pokii made on the toyhouse thread before it was deleted, so i wanted to investigate this myself to form my own opinions.
iirc the former terra mods made edgy jokes in a private gc (like racial and homophobic jokes) and milo + another ex mod(?) (can’t remember who) had issues with it (they’re a poc aka ‘person of color’)
i know you’re gonna say “where’s proof” again probably.. but i promise i clearly recall the og psa had a link to a youtube screencap video scrolling down a private group chat with bug, milo, pokii, bear, and the other ex mod discussing the issue with pokii. i did try to find it but i think it’s unlisted now sadly. though, if you do scroll down a little on this version of the public psa document, there’s a link to the og psa, but you have to request access so it’s probably still in that one somewhere? if someone wants to try and look (don’t want them to have my email so would rather not try and get access myself): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12UMx6drwia7mTdniDAj_vwsi5QQyQu0d0la9cHwGSIE/edit
to summarize:
• pokii said some version of a slur as a joke, but she didn’t say the actual words + there were no screenshots of her saying them where it originally happened. but she admitted she did say a racial joke, and it was done in the private chat with the former terra mods (who were also said to have made edgy / offensive jokes- but pokii was the one who got in trouble for it).
• bear was defending pokii as well since they’re friends(?) and bear is a poc / said she was fine with the joke / made similar jokes too, but milo and the other mod weren’t having it. it was a bit yikes bc i recall pokii accidentally saying what she admitted to saying twice(?), but it just looked like she was getting upset / flustered and milo + the other ex mod barely let her talk or defend herself.
• milo kept belittling pokii and saying things like “ur an adult and u act like this” and “i may be younger but at least i have more sense” every time pokii tried to speak her piece. pokii is an adult (20s) and milo was still a minor at the time (17 I believe) but they were being wildly childish and immature about the whole thing for someone who seemed to have ‘genuine’ concerns about the issue at hand.
• overall it looked like they weren’t interested in a peaceful resolution and wouldn’t leave it be unless pokii got punished despite her trying to make amends. which again, it’s fine if they were uncomfortable with her.. but they definitely kept going for the throat. pokii didn’t lash out once during the whole gc but she was getting pretty heated and did say some heated things (reasonably so imo).
• not to mention milo seemed to be throwing out other baseless accusations to see what would stick (i.e. claimed pokii also said another type of slur towards milo?? but had no proof + didn’t show screenshots when asked and tried to change topics). and also another thing about pokii being creepy(?) with milo’s boyfriend in a private server they were all in, but this was disproven by said boyfriend after. and again, milo refused to provide proof.
in conclusion: as someone who’s a poc myself and has been scolded by others for making slurs in a joking manner, i think it was really a matter of “one joke might not offend one poc but another poc could be offended”. yeah pokii could’ve just.. not said what she joked about (and i honestly have no clue what her race is), but milo and the other ex mod were making her seem like she was a horrible person and jumping down her throat the whole time. we all make mistakes so i can see how pokii and even bear would lash out at milo. especially if they’re just trying to move on (and again bear is a poc and had no issues with it + it was done amongst friends in private and not publicly so they probably thought it was fine). i don’t think someone should be villainized for jokes especially if they genuinely apologize (which pokii did in the video of the gc)
thanks if you read everything- as i did try to show some form of proof. but again you’ll have to request access to the og psa with the video link i mentioned. i know you said you were deleting asks, but i hope you don’t remove mine because i spent a while typing this and trying to do some research / recall the situation. i just don’t wanna get banned and im scared if i try to get the og psa then i could be exposed. i love terras but they seem to be prone to so much controversy every other month.
post related
ill allow this since it was related to a previous ask
i actually do remember the screencap video too, and while i wont say that your rendition of events is completely true just based on the fact that i cant go back and look at it myself, ill just operate under the assumption that it is for now
i think that we can say (based off this) that both sides had their faults. at the same time though, the OG PSA document is gone (replaced with a better one), the youtube video is unlisted, and pokii, bear, and milo arent terra mods (and i assume none of them have any plans to try and rejoin the staff team anytime soon). im inclined to just let this specific saga die, since a lot of the claims are now baseless from evidence being buried, its become a game of he-said she-said.
reminder to all anons to take evidenceless claims with a grain of salt, and dont go out of your way to bother or harass anyone. it seems that everyone involved in this specific saga is attempting to move on.

really do not understand how some people seem to still be defending tommy ngl… like with this, him still being very friendly with dream, and the bullshit in that vlog, he’s shown pretty well that he most likely does not give a fuck about the whole situation, or people affected by things like it. also he’s not a kid. he doesn’t need to be given the benefit of the doubt. like there’s no way in hell i can still consume his content, im confused that so many other people seem just fine with this
It's not even that "he's just a kid", it's that he's literally ADDRESSED jokes like these in the past before, and that now, in the year of our lord and savior 2023, these jokes are STILL being made by someone who by all evidence, should know better
And the thing is ppl want him to grown they want him to change they are grabbing into every little thing that could give him the tiniest bit of hope that he isn't horrible, and while I'm glad that most ppl I'm seeing are acknowledge it was bad "saying it's fucked but-" still isn't good.
And like while tommy is still young and capable of just growing out of this, he's the one to blame for his own actions, he should have used some fucking common sense. And I'm a afraid that if this change doesn't happened he's going to become one of those creators whose whole thing is offensive edgy humor and considering Abt his supposed plans for a new vídeo i fear that's this is going to happen considering the ppl he was supposed to coplab with

Someone is... very persistently trying to convince me that we're misinterpreting all the toxic red flags I've been pointing out, so how about I list all the stuff they've said and done I consider toxic, and you tell me which are glaring red flags, and which we probably misinterpreted? Be fully honest if we're in the wrong on any or if it depends on context. You don't need to check, if this makes you uncomfortable. (Under readmore as there's triggering content.)
Heads up, they ARE depressed and have an abusive history themselves, which they monologue about every time I try to confront what they've been doing, which is why I'm not going to publicly say who they are unless they give me no choice, but I don't feel it's anywhere near a good reason for how they act and the stubborn refusal to fix anything, expecting other people to accommodate them instead. ~Starry 1. "I do so many things for my friends, but they're ungrateful and selfish because they don't talk or do as much as I do, and I know they're just making excuses when they say they're busy." 2. *makes constant comments about suicide and wanting to die despite telling them that it's mentally-draining* "...just kidding! Why are you upset? I said I was kidding! That makes it okay!" 3. -after we say something intended to be positive and a compliment- "You're just making fun of me, stop doing that. Apologize!" -when we say it was completely unironic- "No, you're making excuses and justifications. You need to apologize to me, I'm not budging until you do." 4. -when i take offense to something they said, such as all their friends being useless/boring to them, insert one of the following at random:- "Why are you taking that personally? I didn't mean you even though I said all of my friends." "You're just misinterpreting it!" (Refuses to explain what else that could possibly mean) "Well, it's the truth and I'm justified in saying it." 5. -says various fucked up things about how they "really feel" about me or their friends -when i distance myself from them and trust them less because of that- "…that was a lie/joke/made up because I wanted to get back at you for arguing with me, why are you taking it at face value? You should be able to tell them apart! 5.5. -during the rare few times they admit their actions might be interpreted as toxic- "Well, it feels like they're doing it to me first/expect them to treat me badly so I'll preemptively treat them this way until they stop and do things I'm comfortable with, even if they're not comfortable with it, since I deserve it more." 6. "Let me send you a gift/send you money! I just want to be nice! I know you're uncomfortable with it, but I want to so I can feel helpful!" -after the ONE time I let them gift me something- "....so when are you going to give me something back?" (and brings this up again for months straight or even use it to guilt trip how I'm not doing My Part) 7. -brings up that i've been hospitalized as an explanation why i'm going quiet- for the next few days: "...so when are you going to apologize to me for [latest argument about No.3]?" 8. -makes new alt after i block them out of exhaustion- "No, you're trying to escape your responsibility, you're the one causing problems, you should be trying to fix this!" 9. Threatening to double down on the toxicity and say things 'that will actually hurt you' to prove that they're not actually being toxic at the moment. 10. In the same vein, trying to be edgy and push it when I said they're part of why our mental health is plummeting to suicidal levels, even going as far as to threaten our mutual friend next. (with screenshots!)
Tumblr media
11. Insist that I'm misinterpreting and twisting things out of context when I list the things they've done to us, refuse to explain how or what they actually mean, condescend that I'm being irrational and emotional with classics like "Do you need me to wait until you cool down?" or "If you want you can reflect on it and once your calmed down. Then we can talk." 12. Insist we don't involve anyone else when I decide I want to get a third party option on if we're the one in the wrong, insisting ourfriends would be biased but also refuse to let me talk to anyone they know, other than the one mutual friend who also believes they're being toxic.

Thoughts on Helluva Boss?
I really liked the pitch!... I also haven't watched any of it since the episode where Blitzo and Moxxie get captured.
So I really like slice of life and sitcoms and just general comedy and I thought the premise of "Murderous The Office" was actually a fun one. Have fun with the fantasy, the religion, the world, etc. like that most sitcoms can't do because... You know, they're theoretically grounded in reality. Effectively, this was going to be Family Guy or Archer but with no breaks.
And I found there were a lot of breaks. Just a lot of "Okay, I get this, is actually the Blitzo and Stolas show, easily the two least interesting characters to me at introduction because Blitzo is just an asshole and you're having to go hard on the abusive wife angle to try and make how Stolas CONSTANTLY is trying to get fucked by someone other than her something we all can just ignore." It just... Wasn't the show that was originally pitched to me and nothing I've seen on Twitter makes me change my mind. Otherwise, for what I did see... I absolutely get why people find the show polarizing. It's like Dane Cook. It's thinking that somehow sex, gore and profanity are really that shocking anymore while still not being as grotesque or violent as something like Happy Tree Friends because it uses that veneer to tell a real story. The show has the modern problem of billing itself as one thing until it changes into something else the minute the plot shows up.
If you just want to do a plot focused show, JUST DO THAT DAMNIT. Or have a point to the build up but if Stolas isn't in an episode, you can mostly skip it it feels like. Or that's how it felt to me. And I'm not even saying that its shock humor is all bad. It has some good jokes, it has some bad jokes and for me it mostly depended on if it was a real character response and conversation or pure profanity. That's why Moxxie was EASILY my favorite character in the show. While he felt out of step with the setting, or even his job at times, he has easily the most real responses. Not even just human but like... Real responses rather than just more profanity. I REALLY liked him trying to prove himself to Millie's family. Honestly, I just wish the show was way more about them.
Because the melodrama with Blitzo's backstory and Stolas' failing marriage? I don't know. It just all felt really standard and boring to me. Like... This would be a comic book plot/backstory with humans involved and you wouldn't need to change literally anything. And that's just... Not interesting. Frankly, that's probably also what made me lose interest. The more it focused on its plot, the less it did with its actual concept. The less these characters felt like demons or that felt like it mattered. We have shows where every human being is awful, murderous, addicted to drugs, a part of a gang, etc. like that. Just look at fucking Riverdale.
And that's a problem with Vivzie's entire brand really. I'm not even against Vivzie, I'm still excited to see what they do with Hazbin Hotel, but... the brand is "We're the violent, edgy cartoon" and like... Really, how much worse is it than some Family Guy episodes? Helluva Boss sometimes just feels like the real pitch is "Every character is Roger from American Dad" and that's not a good brand pitch.
Though yes: It is GORGEOUS and the designs are great. It's a treat for the eyes, even if the writing isn't particularly special.
I also just don't think this attitude leads to interesting or creative writing and like... The biggest thing with their concept that Helluva Boss does is Angels actually being terrible... Which isn't new. Or is it the secretly homicidal rednecks because that's literally just a horror genre? This stuff isn't interesting because it's not asking genuine questions about its setting or its characters.
It's just "What is the most aggressive and/or offensive thing we can do?" and that's just not a storytelling style I like and it's very one note. It's why the show has to go so hard the other way to try and make Blitzo and Stolas 'sympathetic' and at that point... What the fuck was the point of the show? There's always more shit to shovel?
Because shit ain't interesting.
