Bullshit (part 2/3)
Continuation “fix it” of this ficlet where Steve changed himself to try to earn Eddie’s love.
Steve missed his polos.
He missed his light wash jeans, his music, watching his favorite movies, he even missed his stupid plaid walls.
Eddie had laughed at them the first time he’d been in Steve’s room, back before they’d even started dating. Technically they were still there, they were just covered up with posters of bands Steve only knew about because his boyfriend liked them. Eddie had teasingly gifted him a Black Sabbath one back when they had just been friends to give his room more “personality” instead of his mostly undecorated room, which…okay, fair, because Steve had admittedly not done much of it himself just because he couldn’t be bothered.
(And he did, actually, kind of like the poster because it was their own little inside joke. It made him smile when he saw it, even to this day, even if he thought he could still taste the damned demobat sometimes.)
It wasn’t like he really knew much of who he was to begin with. He still had the bowling pin he and Tommy had stolen from the bowling lane their sophomore year (Steve’s idea, though only to impress his friend), and the picture of the car he had bought on a whim because Tommy had said he wanted a car just like it. Any other knickknack had either been gifted or purchased for a similar intent.
Now, that car picture was collecting dust in his closet, replaced by the Black Sabbath poster that Eddie had pinned to the wall slightly askew for ‘aesthetics,’ though it being slightly off-center and at an angle made Steve a little itchy. Soon, however, other posters soon followed, some given to him by Eddie and some he purchased himself after learning what bands Eddie liked, with a large Dio one taking up space by his bed.
Flyers of Corroded Coffin shows or other band merch dotted around the room as well, which he didn’t really mind because he liked supporting his boyfriend, though the clutter and disorganization slightly bothered him. Eddie had grinned at the sight however and called him a ‘real boy now’ for looking like the room of a young man and not a ‘30-something corporate stooge,’ so that would have to be fine too.
But he still missed his room looking like his room, instead of a replica of Eddie’s. It made Eddie feel more comfortable however, so he tried not to think about how it wasn’t his aesthetic at all, because he could learn to like it. He could change for the better. He could be what Eddie wanted. He could be good enough.
Which was why he was confused, staring at the garment box on the kitchen table where he’d been circling car ads in the classifieds, trying to find something cooler than his bimmer. Eddie had come over with a wide grin, sliding a box he recognized from one of the department stores he used to shop at before dating Eddie.
Eddie had proffered it with a flourish, grinning expectantly, practically vibrating with anticipation as Steve had carefully lifted the lid and moved the tissue paper aside to reveal the piece of clothing inside. A polo shirt in a soft, buttery sort of yellow with thick vertical white stripes running vertical over it.
Steve looked up at Eddie with a furrowed brow. “I…you got me a polo?” he questioned, confused and also concerned, knowing the department store was definitely outside of Eddie’s usual price range.
“Yeah!” Eddie confirmed happily, moving to sit in the chair next to Steve, looking down at the soft material Steve had yet to pull from the box. “The check from the gig came through, and I remember you looking at this shirt a couple weeks ago. I’ve been waiting to be buy it ever since.”
Steve blinked at that. He hadn’t known Eddie had caught him admiring the shirt in the window while he and Eddie had been walking around downtown. He felt a flair of panic at the thought, annoyed at himself for slipping up, for reminding Eddie that he was a stupid preppy rich kid. Eddie didn’t look upset though, or at least…he hadn’t. Now his eyes were darting over Steve’s expression with growing worry, chewing on his lower lip.
“Is that…is that all right? Was it a different one you wanted? I-I still have the receipt, we can return it and get the one you wanted,” Eddie rushed to say.
“No,” Steve quickly said, his fingers of one hand tightening slightly on the box while his other reached out of their own accord to slightly touch the shirt within. “I…Eddie,” he breathed, not knowing what else to say, what this meant. Why would Eddie buy him something like this? “You shouldn’t waste your hard earned money on…something like this.” Shouldn’t waste your money on me, he wanted to say. “It’s your first paying gig.”
Eddie shook his head quickly, an almost embarrassed smile curling his lips with a slight blush. “I wanted to, Stevie. You always buy me things, I wanted to return the favor. You’ve been so supportive of me and I wanted to…I don’t know. Thank you.” He glanced down at the polo with a soft expression, though he did frown a little too afterwards. “I haven’t seen you wear your polos in a really long time,” he murmured quietly.
Steve tensed at Eddie’s words. Of course he hadn’t. Polos weren’t cool. Polos weren’t good enough for Eddie. It was why he was so confused at this gift. He didn’t understand why Eddie would buy him something that wasn’t metal. That wasn’t suitable for his boyfriend.
“I know that you’re experimenting with your style and all, and I won’t deny you’re hot as fuck in these,” Eddie grinned, moving to pinch the loose sleeve of Steve’s tee between his fingers. It was from some band he didn’t actually know before he’d bought the shirt, something called Leatherwolf, though he had bought their tape as well so that he could pretend to be a fan and know some of their songs. “But you look hot in your polos too. I miss them.”
Steve sat up straighter at that, his eyebrows flying up in surprise. Eddie…liked his polos? “Aren’t the polos…kind of lame?” he asked carefully.
Eddie snorted, smiling as he leaned in to press a kiss to Steve’s neck, causing a startled smile to erupt over Steve’s own lips as he squirmed at the slight tickle of Eddie’s lips and hair. “There’s nothing lame about you, sweetheart,” Eddie murmured, voice roughened with his tease. He pulled back though, a touch of his worry on his expression again. “Do you like it?”
Of course Steve liked it. He loved it. It was exactly the one he had been looking at before, even though he’d tried to hide it, which meant that Eddie really had noticed it and really had been waiting to buy it for him. With his first paycheck from Corroded Coffin’s first real paying gig.
There had been the fear that Eddie’s involvement with the band would limit their options, that no one would want to listen to a band that had a member who was suspected of grisly murders. Eddie had been prepared to step down, to let the others move on without him, had offered it even though Jeff and the others had vehemently opposed the idea. They’d said that Corroded Coffin wouldn’t exist without Eddie and if he wasn’t part of it then they didn’t want to do it anymore.
In a surprise twist that probably shouldn’t have been all that surprising, Eddie’s infamy had actually helped the band. The news of his believed guilt and then later innocence and injury from the actual killer that he had tried to stop had spread even beyond Hawkins, drawing a crowd for their nights performing at The Hideout who began to see more patrons than ever before.
Then they’d been invited to participate in a Battle of the Bands, which they hadn’t won but they’d placed second, and the random shows they’d throw themselves at the quarry or wherever else saw larger crowds than usual, even the one they threw to celebrate Gareth graduating, and they’d even been asked to play at the fair, though it was a free gig.
Then, most recently, someone had approached them after one of their shows and asked to hire them for an event in Indianapolis. A paying event in Indianapolis. With it was the promise of possible future paying gigs as their fanbase grew and spread. There was even talk of a possible scout being at the gig.
Dustin had joked that maybe ‘86 hadn’t been his year, but ‘88 could be, though Eddie had just grinned and denied it, saying that ‘86 had been his year after all. He hadn’t said why, but he gave Steve a secretive smile and reached out to tangle their fingers together.
Steve felt a flare of warmth beneath his skin as he stared down at the polo again, hesitating before giving a brief nod. Eddie’s previously nervous smile bloomed into a joyous one, and he leaned in quickly to plant a smacking kiss to Steve’s cheek. Steve rolled his eyes but couldn’t prevent his own smile from growing on his lips.
“Thank you, baby,” Steve murmured, sliding a hand over Eddie’s neck to draw him in for a slow kiss. He didn’t know what it meant still, Eddie buying him a polo of all things, but it made him more determined than ever to be good enough for his boyfriend.
When they pulled back, Eddie soft with happiness, Steve made the decision. He needed to go all in if he was to keep Eddie happy. He drew in a deep breath and moved to take Eddie’s hand, his finger lightly tracing one of the scars there.
“I was thinking of growing out my hair. Maybe even dying it. Or maybe shaving i—”
“Don’t you dare!” Eddie interrupted, expression and tone absolutely scandalized as he squeezed Steve’s hand. Steve jumped slightly at the sudden explosion, blinking wide eyes at Eddie, causing the other to flush slightly in embarrassment. “I mean. You can, obviously, if you really want to, it’s your hair after all, but…” Eddie let out a small whine of protest as his gaze moved up to take in Steve’s hair.
Steve self-consciously reached up with his free hand to pass his fingers through his hair, which wasn’t quite as voluminous as he used to style it, but was still the last real testament of his former style. His former personality. The bullshit one.
“I mean,” Steve hedged, glancing away with a small roll of a shoulder in an aborted shrug. “It’s not exactly metal is it?” He looked back at Eddie with a slightly strained smile, rolling his eyes as though in commiseration. “I don’t want to embarrass you by making people think you have a prep for a boyfriend,” he laughed.
Eddie’s expression changed immediately as he stilled almost unnaturally, falling into a blank neutrality, even his eyes shuttering as he slowly pulled his hand from Steve’s grip. The response caused Steve to start panicking, worrying he’d messed up in some way, that he reminded Eddie of all the ways that he was lacking.
Steve opened his mouth to start apologizing, ready to apologize for anything, but Eddie held up his hand palm out to stop him, causing Steve’s mouth to shut with a soft click of teeth.
Eddie’s gaze dropped from Steve as his brows slowly began to furrow, a calculating expression settling over him as his eyes fell to the soft yellow polo still in the box. His lips twisted into a frown. After several excruciating moments, his eyes moved towards Steve’s shirt, an even more pinched look settling over his expression.
“Who are you wearing?” Eddie asked, his voice low and slow.
Steve glanced down at his shirt, the panic in him spiking, before realizing that this was a test. He had to prove to Eddie that he could like metal too (he didn’t, not really, though he could appreciate some of it) and wouldn’t be an embarrassment. He could do this.
“Leatherwolf,” he answered, thankful that he had done his job well enough to answer this pop quiz. He straightened his spine and pulled up the information he memorized with a slightly relieved smile. He could do this. “They’re from California. They were founded in, um, 1981.”
“What’s your favorite song of theirs?” Eddie asked, and there was something slightly off in his tone, but Steve couldn’t place it, not when he was frantically trying to recall the titles of the songs he’d made himself remember.
“Um. Cry Out?” he hesitantly asked more than answered, which caused Eddie’s lips to press into a thin line. He felt his breath catch at the obvious displeasure on Eddie’s face, wondering if he’d answered wrong. Was that a bad song? “O-or no, um, not that one. Uh. I like…um. I like…Magic Eye?” Fuck no, that wasn’t right. “Magical Eyes, I mean,” he corrected himself hastily.
Eddie’s eyes slowly dragged over Steve, his lips compressing again into a thin line as he drew in his own deep breath through flared nostrils. “Fuck,” he muttered, obviously not meant for Steve but it caused Steve to panic anyways as Eddie looked away, his brow furrowing in thought as his gaze settled on the newspaper on the table and the circled ads there.
“I’m sorry,” he quickly apologized, though he wasn’t certain what he had done wrong this time. Maybe Eddie didn’t like that band?
“Steve…” Eddie heaved a heavy sigh, rubbing his hand over his face before he looked over at Steve again. “I had thought you were just…trying things out. Experimenting. Lord knows your folks never let you be your own person,” he muttered before waving a hand as though to swat that thought away. “I didn’t realize you were actually trying to change.”
Why did Eddie sound so appalled by that? Wasn’t that a good thing? He was willing to fundamentally change who he was just for Eddie, to become someone deserving of Eddie, who fit in Eddie’s life. Didn’t Eddie want Steve in his life?
“Why are you upset about me changing?” Steve huffed, his worry turning into annoyance in his tone. “I thought that was a good thing. Not being the douchebag I used to be.” He scowled, crossing his arms with a roll of his eyes to cover his unease.
Eddie just looked at him in that way that made it seem like he was seeing inside Steve, which normally Steve liked because no one ever actually saw him, but now it just made him uncomfortable. Like he had done something wrong. He was just trying to be a good boyfriend, however. Besides, it’s not like he had come up with the plan on his own.
Everyone always talked about how different he and Eddie were. Always pointed out how preppy he was, made fun of Eddie for falling for a jock, had even asked at the start when they first came out publicly to their friends who was blackmailing whom into the relationship. Steve knew he had to change. They were too fundamentally different. It was the only way to keep Eddie.
Except Eddie didn’t look like he was going to be kept. He had started slowly shaking his head, pulling back, his eyes skittering over Steve again but in a way that said he wasn’t liking what he was saying. Steve’s panic spiked again.
“Eddie. This is good. I’m willing to change for you, that’s how much I love you,” Steve breathed, reaching out to grab Eddie’s hand with desperation. “I listen to your music now, and I play Dungeons and Dragons, and I don’t even talk about basketball around you anymore. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy. Don’t you see? Isn’t that all that matters?”
Eddie’s lips turned down into a sharp frown. A shuddering breath left him before he all but yanked his hand from Steve’s, his dark eyes turning even darker as he pulled away from Steve and said those damning words:
“But I’m not happy, Steve.”
Steve felt all the air leave his lungs, felt all the blood first rush to his head and then drain out of him, felt his mouth and tongue and throat shrivel into dryness as his eyes widened in horror. Eddie was shaking his head, stumbling out of his chair and back, an unreadable expression on his face as he distanced himself from Steve and this revelation.
“This wasn’t what I wanted, Steve. This doesn’t make me happy.” Eddie’s took another step back when Steve stumbled from his own chair, putting the table between them. “I…I need to go. I need to think.”
Steve knew with certainty that if he let Eddie leave now, that this thing between them would never be the same. His heart clenched in his chest painfully, and he felt his eyes sting with encroaching tears. “Eddie, please…” he begged, his words cracking.
Eddie only shook his head, sending his hair arcing around him, before straightening his spine. “This isn’t you. I don’t want this to be you. I love you Steve, but this version of you? The one that I created—” This time it was Eddie’s voice that cracked.
Clearing his throat, Eddie backed away. “No. No, this isn’t what I wanted. I’m sorry, Steve, but I need to go. I need to think. I can’t be here right now. I’m sorry.”
And with that, Eddie spun on his heels and all but ran towards the door, escaping from Steve’s incompetence, his unworthiness, his undesirability while Steve could only stand there in frozen horror, the tears he couldn’t hold back any longer slowly dripping down his cheeks.
Because he knew. He knew this would happen. He knew that no matter what he did, he would never be good enough. He knew that Eddie would leave him one day. Knew that he would never be able to keep the one he loved.
Knew that he, like his love, would always be complete and utter bullshit.

In the garden.
The first puzzle was really hard. Riley says that usually the answer is hidden somewhere within the episode, but Amanda wouldn’t let her replay it to check. Good thing I take notes. Sophie thought to herself. She looks through her notes. She looks around the room. There are several posters on the walls and memorabilia from all of Hameln’s different productions, with notes around them of different actors and their family members that went missing during or after production, among other odd notes about the show. Her mother told her once they realized Hameln was associated with the cult they started doing a deep dive on all their creative properties outside of Amanda. The results of this research are posted all around in sticky notes and long stapled printouts taped around the room. Like a controlled chaotic masterpiece. That’s mom for you. Sophie thought with a smile. Of course, most of the merch and stuff was from Amanda the Adventurer. Which… didn’t make things too easy. Sophie figured Amanda was going to hide it somewhere within the merch. Finally, she notices a specific poster. “Amanda the Adventurer! New Show! Starring Rebecca Colton and William Scott. Soon airing on Hameln Jr!” The poster showed Amanda and Wooly, sitting on Apples and Peaches respectively. Could this be it? Sophie recognized this poster. It was a collectors edition poster mimicking the show’s initial announcement ad. It was crazy popular and really hard for her mother to get a copy. Sophie feels the poster and realizes there’s a weird shape behind it. She gently peels back the tape on the poster revealing a safe and two tapes. One being an Amanda episode titled: In The Garden. The other being a bright cyan colored tape. Never understood why they chose to record all their evidence against Hameln on colored tapes. Sophie chose to watch the cyan tape first. It appeared rather unassuming, simply being a collection of Amanda the Adventurer commercials. There’s got to be more here… something I’m missing. Sophie thinks to herself. Oh well… I don’t have much free time. I better watch the next tape now. Sophie puts the tape in the machine.
“Hi friends, I’m Amanda!” Amanda beams.
“And I’m Wooly!”
“Gee it took you a while to find that tape huh? I hid it well, didn't I?”
“Well… it only took me half an hour to find it.”
“HUH?”
“I had like 5 assignments due today… I had to do the dishes… and the laundry… then I watched this other tape first… so yeah… not too hard.”
“Grrrrrrrrrr…” Amanda grumbled.
“To-today we’re planting seeds to grow in our garden!” Wooly announces, changing the subject.
“That’s right Wooly! Say, what kinds of plants do you like to grow?” Cacti Sophie responds. “You’re weird.” Amanda responds. The tape glitches. “First we’re going to need to go to the store to buy some seeds, can you tell me where the store is?” Sophie clicks on the store. “Great! Let’s go-go-go-go-go-” the tape glitches again. Wow, these are so old. Sophie thinks to herself.
“Wow there’s so many options, what are we going to grow?” Wooly asks.
“Vegetables!”
“Vegata..bles?” Wooly repeats.
“Yep!”
“In our new garden?” “That’s right!” Amanda beams. Wooly looks disappointed. “What is it?”
“Nothing, I just thought we’d be growing flowers.” Wooly mumbles in an annoyed tone under his breath.
“Flowers are boring! Vegetables are flowers you can eat!”
“Wha- No! Flowers are pretty! They’re nice to look at and they smell nice!”
“And they die wither and rot come fall. Good idea Wooly!” Amanda beams.
“Wha- no!” Wooly sounds angrier at this then he should be. He stops himself and takes a deep breath. “How about this? I get flowers, you get the vegetables. Okay?”
“Okay…” Amanda seems a little confused and uncomfortable.
“So can you tell me where the---------” The tape glitches as Amanda and Wooly talk over each other, both glaring at each other with annoyance.
“Sorry, you go first.” Wooly chuckles nervously.
“Can you tell me where the vegetable seeds are?” Amanda smiles. Sophie clicks on the vegetables. “Great job!”
“Can you tell me where the flower seeds are?” Wooly asks. Sophie clicks on them. “Thank you!”
“Now we need to pick out which vegetables we want! I want to make some BLTs at some point. So we definitely need some lettuce and tomatoes. Then maybe some cucumbers so we can have salads.”
“Honestly… that doesn’t sound so bad.”
“Can you tell me where the seeds are?” Amanda asks. Sophie clicks on all three seeds with no problem. “Good job!” Amanda smiles.
“As for flowers I’m thinking daffodils, daisies, and… lavender…” Wooly closes his eyes wistfully.
“Lavender?”
“It smells so good. And I remember once hearing that it can help with anxiety and sleep!” Wooly explains, “um… not that I have any problems with anxiety or sleep or anything. The point is it’s known to be a very calming flower.”
“I guess that’s interesting…” Amanda sighs.
“Can you tell me where those are?” Wooly asks. Sophie clicks on the correct flowers. “Yay! These are going to look so pretty in the yard.”
“Now let’s go home so we can plant these seeds!” Amanda tells us. The tape glitches back to the back yard. “I have all the gardening tools laid out here. What do we need first?” Sophie clicks on the shovel. “That’s… right…” Amanda says, then she shakes it off. “First we need to plant the seeds!”
“Be sure to look at the instructions on the back!” Wooly instructs.
“Wooly… there are no instructions on the back…” “Oh… there are in real life though…” Wooly sighs.
“First we dig a hole about this deep, then we put the seeds in…” “I’m starting to think we should’ve gotten plants instead.” Wooly thinks out loud.
“Well the store only has seeds, Wooly.”
“Ah… haha… Bummer.”
“Anyway we planted the seeds. Now what do they need?” “Fertilizer!” Wooly announces. Water Sophie types.
“Water!” Amanda beams.
“What? No, they'll grow faster with fertilizer!” Wooly protests.
“But the only place we can get that is the farm.” Amanda replies.
“No! I don’t want to go baaaack there!” Wooly panics. Amanda looks… a little guilty.
“Yeah I know. Which is why we don’t have fertilizer.” Amanda sighs.
“I’m sorry…”
“It’s fine Wooly.” “What do we use to water the seeds?” Sophie clicks on the watering can. “Riiiight.” Amanda says slowly. She starts to water the plants.
“Don’t water them too much!” Wooly warns.
“I know Wooly, I got this.” Amanda sighs. “There. Now we wait.” Amanda and Wooly stand there waiting for a bit.
“Huh? Usually when we do this episode they grow immediately.”
“It’s probably because we don’t have fertilizer.” Amanda deduces. “Guess we’ll have to… get some.” Wooly looks terrified. “Wooly, the episode won’t end until the plants grow!” Amanda reminds him.
“So? We can play some more right?” Wooly laughs nervously. Amanda bits her lip.
“How about this, you stay home and keep an eye on the plants so the birds don’t eat the seeds.” Amanda suggests, “And I go to the farm.”
“Okay…” Wooly sighs. The tape glitches to the farm. But both Amanda and Wooly are there.
“Oh… I guess… the show won’t let you do that.” Amanda notes, she sees Wooly panicking, “It’s just the farm stand, not the petting zoo. You should be fine. We’ll be quick.” Amanda reussers him. But he says nothing. “Wooly, you can talk, you know.” Amanda says.
“Oh, okay…” Wooly mumbles.
“Can you tell the farmer what we need?” Amanda asks. The “farmer” is a motionless scarecrow, placed between the crops and the farm stand. Sophie types in fertilizer. “That’s right! Now let’s go home!”
“Meow!”
“Aww… it’s a lonely kitt-” The tape glitches back to the backyard.
“I’m fine? I’m… fine. I’m fine!” Wooly gasps, fully relieved and almost a little excited. Amanda looks away. “Haha! Hahahaha! Take that stupid farm! Sheep says Baaa! No more! Haha!”
“Glad you’re happy Wooly.” Amanda sighs tiredly, “But uh… the flower bed is all dug up.”
“They’re what now?” Wooly stops in his tracks. Amanda checks the beds for seeds.
“No no no no! The birds ate all our seeds! Now we’ll have to plant them all OVER again!” Amanda screams. “GRAH!” she stamps her foot.
“Don’t worry Amanda, we still have more seeds, we can plant them again!” Wooly reussers her.
“Yeah but aren’t you frustrated?” Amanda asks, “Aren’t you mad?”
“I… I uh…” Wooly freezes up, “Let’s get these… seeds… pla-planted…” the tape glitches and the seeds are all planted again. “Whew! That was a lot of work! Now let’s add fertilizer!” Wooly smiles. Sophie clicks and drags the fertilizer to each plant.
“Now what do we use to water them?” Amanda questions. Sophie clicks on the watering can. “That’s right.”
“Can I water them this time?” Wooly asks.
“Sure Wooly!” Amanda says cheerfully. Wooly creates little moats around the holes and waters them.
“Gotta make a moat to protect the castle from invaders!” Wooly laughs. The tape glitches and the plants are watered. “Now we wait.” This time, Amanda and Wooly watch as the plants slowly rise from the ground. “Yay! Now we can pick our plants!” Amanda beams and the tape ends. Now to find that next tape… Sophie thinks.
Authors note: Finally managed to finish this one. Have been doing a lot more editing on the recent episodes. Trying to figure out the future of this fic series lol.

A list of mutable batfam headcanons that live inside my brain:
Steph deserves to be 6’ minimum, preferably 6’1” or 2”
Bruce is constantly trying to balance his need to be at the same eye level or above the people he’s intimidating vs his need to do his funky little gargoyle crouch. His favorite thing about the GCPD roof is that it has lots of surfaces he can crouch on and still meet or look down at Gordon’s eye level
Tim and Damian suffer from “too similar to get along” disease and must either become best friends or despise each other until the end of time
Babs prefers light, natural toned makeup. Steph prefers pops of color and decent amounts of jewelry when she can get away with it. Cass prefers jewelry and no makeup at all
Jason’s comfort meals are all variations on soup served with bread for dipping
Jason is of the opinion that Fitzwilliam Darcy is an ass at the beginning of the book and it’s a good thing he decided to change himself so he could take his place as Best Fictional Man Ever. Dick, who read the book in order to be able to connect with Jason better, is of the opinion that Fitzwilliam Darcy has done nothing wrong ever and only needed to work on his social skills, meaning that it’s his improved ability to communicate that makes him worthy of Elizabeth Bennet at the end. Neither of them wants to listen to Tim’s analysis of what this says about their relationships with Bruce
Duke has never engaged in non-Alfred approved chaos. This is not because Duke seeks Alfred’s approval, but rather because their senses of humor are in perfect alignment and Alfred is always pleased to discover that he approves of Duke’s particular instances of chaos even after the fact
Damian never had stuffed animals growing up, but after being corrupted by Dick’s influence he can no longer sleep without a minimum of one in his bed
Damian collects posters and articulable action figures. His favorite ones are the ones that can stand on their own, which he uses for posing practice in his drawings. His favorite figure is of one of the characters in Cheese Vikings who has a zuko-esque backstory and a secret propensity for gardening
Dick always buys the most beat up box of cereal at the grocery store because he feels bad for them
Cass loves not only ballet, but other works by classical composers as well. She will unironically listen to the local classical station, and can identify the Borodin String Quartet by the sound of their instruments alone
Tim and Bruce watch and read Gray Ghost media in all its various forms and discuss it together as a bonding activity
Alfred and Jason’s shared birthday is usually celebrated with them making each other cakes, meaning that everyone gets to enjoy not one but two cakes for the day
Jason specializes in cheesecake above all other cakes, though he did make Damian a black forest cake for his birthday once right after he’d finished playing Portal
Literally everyone is surprised when they learn that Damian plays video games. No one has ever once looked at him and thought “yeah, i bet that kid plays console games” and he’s actually really insecure about it, but he also refuses to wear any kind of merch outside the house. He owns dozens of gaming and anime T-shirts but refuses to be seen as anything but completely neutral outside his own territory
Most of the bats wear drug-detecting nail polish at all times, though the base and reactive colors vary by the bat in question
Bruce and Dick have both had therapists straightup quit on them and are therefore reluctant to go back to therapy ever again
Duke’s favorite book is Walden Pond
Alfred read Lord of the Rings aloud to Bruce when he was a kid

regular | charlie walker x gn!reader
summary: you are new to woodsboro and luckily landed a job at the local video store. charlie, a regular at the video store takes an interest in you
warnings: none!
a/n: a little story that came up in my head. i'm also open to receiving criticism!
-it had been only a few weeks since you moved into woodsboro
-luckily you got a job at the local video store so you can get a head start in making some decent money
-you found it easy and enjoyable to an extent as you also got to recognize and speak to the regulars that would usually purchase or rent movies
-along with keeping some movie posters and merch, and the discounts for yourself
-on a particularly slow day, you were simply doing homework at the register since you had already finished restocking items
-"hey um, i was wondering if you have the descent in stock, i couldn't find it at the shelves"
-you looked up, the boy whom you recognized from school stood on the opposite side of the counter
-"the descent, huh? let me check."
-you turned to the computer, searching if anyone had recently purchased or rented it
-"i'm sorry, our last copy had been purchased. we won't have the next copies arriving soon"
-before charlie could speak, you beat him to it
-"i could recommend you something though."
-"o-oh, sure"
-"since the descent is pretty much about these girls getting stuck in a cave and having to survive from these humanoid-cannibalistic creatures... how about a zombie film?"
-"zombie film's cool"
-"by the way, your name's charlie right?"
-"yeah," he looks at your name tag, "y/n," he read aloud. you gave him a simple nod
-"have you heard of 28 days later?"
-"i haven't seen it yet, but i heard it was really good"
-"trust me, it is. would you be interested in renting it?"
-charlie nods
-"DVD or blu-ray?" you ask
-"DVD"
-he paid the fee for renting the movie
-weeks turned into months and out of the other regulars, your interactions with charlie were the highlight your days at work
-he quickly found it easy to talk to you, and you did too. you and charlie became good friends fast
-he had quickly developed feelings for you
-something about the way your eyes light up when your favorite movies were mentioned, or the way you got excited when you got to talk about your interests, how effortlessly attractive you looked all the time, the way you looked at him when you were listening to him, everything about you was so attractive to charlie
-sometimes, the two of you would talk when no one else was in line at the register
-you and charlie would also give each other movie recommendations after learning how equally passionate you are about them
-the two of you would also talk in school, but you didn't have many classes with each other
-on days you didn't have work, you'd go to the cinema club meetings since charlie is the president of the club
-when the last bell rang, he went over to you as everyone exited the classroom
-"i was wondering if you wanted to catch a movie with me tonight. i was originally gonna go with robbie, but he had to do something with his mom, so i have an extra ticket"
-"sure thing. what movie?"
-"insidious."
-"ooh! i've been looking forward to seeing it."
-"cool. i can pick you up later if that's cool?"
-you smiled at his offer, "yeah, thanks. i'll text you my address."
-charlie bit down on his bottom lip to repress the idiotic smile that was about to form on his lips, "alright. be ready by 7, i'll see you later"
-the rest of the afternoon, charlie had been freaking out
-he was even surprised that he had the guts to ask you
-charlie was constantly checking himself in front of the mirror
-was his hair too messy? were his clothes not properly ironed? does he stand awkwardly? did his voice sound weird?
-well, it was too late to do anything now. he had to leave his house to pick you up
-following the address you sent him, he arrived in front of your house in minutes. he saw you approach the car
-he opened the passenger door for you too
-for some reason, charlie was very nervous
-whenever he was around you, he was still nervous, but not THIS nervous. sure the two of you have spoke numerous times, but in this particular setting, it made his hands all sweaty and his face felt like it was burning up
-however, you had kept things pretty casual like always
-he offered to be the one to buy your guys's food and drinks but you insisted on paying instead since he was the one who paid for the tickets
-the movie started and things were fine
-although charlie tried to focus on the massive screen in front of him, he couldn't help but sneak glances at you
-throughout the times where there were jump scares or suspenseful scenes, you would lean towards charlie or place your hand on his shoulder/arm or both
-thank goodness he was in a dark theater because the entire time his cheeks were painted with a deep red
-when the movie was over, you both decided to sneak in another theater to watch another movie and ended up watching despicable me
-pretty random movie, but the both of you were up for another movie, one that was lighter
-it was really late at night, but it was also a friday, meaning no school, so you and charlie grabbed some fast food and ate together in an empty parking lot, sitting on top of the front of the car
-the both of you talked about the movies you had just watched, shared funny stories, joked around with each other, playfully argue over random opinions, and even got into a few deep conversations
-eventually, it was time to go home. he dropped you off at your place
-before you got out of his car, you thanked him and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek, then left
-he was completely shocked, cheeks red, and face on fire
-the next time you saw him, you had asked him out!!!!!
-obviously he said yes, so now the two of you are dating yayayay
-things were almost the same aside from being more affectionate and hanging out/going on dates more frequently
-he likes to visit you during work and sometimes brings you food that you can eat during your breaks
-sleepovers and movie nights together all the time too
a/n: this is kind of meh but like i said it was something small i thought of. ALSO i hope someone noticed that i referred to movies that were much older since scream 4 takes place in 2011. Insidious and Despicable Me both came out sometime in 2010 so yeahhh

Hey y’all, I’m in my hotel now so I can start my post dump on the Outsiders museum house. There’s so much to go through so I thought I’d start with the merch I got!! I spent more money than I usually do and I’m super exited for everything. I wish I got more. These are some of the smaller trinkets including a postcard, candy cigs, pins, and stickers.
These are my big pieces which I’m most excited about including a t-shirt, poster, and a gift for my friend- a butterfly knife comb. The also had switches. They did have a DX shirt, but it was $75 alone so I didn’t get it this time. Hopefully another day I’ll get or make one.
My friend does have my tumblr but we don’t overlap much. Allicat, if you see this, sorry I ruined the surprise! See you soon! More posts about the museum to come, but remember they do have an online store. Not everything will be there but there’s some good stuff still.

Fic: Somewhere That’s Green
[based on a post I made about Eddie’s future]
It’s a hole in the wall just off the main drag, the kind of place you can’t find unless you know to look. In a previous life it had been a pizzeria, which explained the bright green vinyl awning Eddie had no intention of replacing. He’d kept the pick-up window, too, used it to host “office hours.” (“Office hours” was supposed to mean “deliver personalized music recommendations to interested passers-by.” Now it means “help harried, double-parked parents reschedule music lessons.”)
He’d also kept the apartment upstairs. They have a house now—a nice one, with a wrap-around porch and a big backyard and a cluster of hedges Steve always insists are “a mess”—but when Eddie trips into an inventory hole and loses track of time, it’s nice to have a place to crash. If it’s not a school night sometimes Steve joins him, and they’ll relive the halcyon days of their early twenties, buoyed by cheap beer, diner curly fries, and giddy infatuation. (The infatuation has only grown and flourished even as his tolerance for salty food has withered. Acid reflux is a bitch.)
He’s happy they kept the apartment. He happy knowing that if someone needs it—someone scared, broke, desperate for a lifeline and a scrap of no-strings-attached kindness—it’s something he can provide.
Initial plans had been to focus on music, just music. It was supposed to be the utopic all-metal record store of Eddie’s nightmares. But as he started to build stock, he remembered how hard it had been to find merch for the things he liked. How a pin or a patch or poster he’d dug up at a garage sale four towns over made him feel more seen than anything on offer at the local mini-mall. How he wanted to be a hub for the weird shit not everyone liked, but the people who did loved. His horrible little magpie brain fluttered from shiny thing to shiny thing, and by the time opening day rolled around the store was a one-stop shop for all things music, merch and whatever wacky knick-knacks tickled Eddie’s fancy. Or horrified Steve. Or both. Both was best.
The Corroded Coffin guys slotted in easily. Francis always liked doing promo for their gigs, was good at it, too. But by the early 2000s, his methods were apparently so outdated his daughter begged to let her take over. (“He’s stapling fliers to telephone poles, Uncle Eddie. You don’t even have a website.”
“What is a telephone pole covered in fliers if not the working man’s web-ed site?”
“Oh my God give me your credit card I’m buying you a domain name.”
“A what?”)
Jeff got his CPA and took over the financials, reeling Eddie in whenever he was struck by the urge to make a impulsive, outlandish purchase. (“I genuinely don’t understand how you make money.”
“It’s cause I don’t do my taxes.”
“I do your taxes. At a great personal expense.”)
Gareth was instrumental (heh…) in building up the music program—soundproofing the basement and hiring instructors and coordinating concerts and organizing payment plans, all the nitty-gritty non-music stuff that made Eddie’s head spin. At some point it just made the most sense for Eddie to cede control, let him operate it however he saw fit. (“This is your baby, dude. It’s a baby that took form within my own, much larger baby. But it’s yours.”
“I’m touched by your words and appalled by your phrasing.”
“That’s the only way I could have said it.”)
(Gareth also once described the store as an “Elevated Hot Topic.” Eddie still hasn’t decided when he’s going to kick his ass.)
Momentum grew. Ideas compounded ideas. A kid asked how to sew a patch to his backpack and it snowballed into the Build Your Own Battlevest Workshop. Wayne suggested knocking out the connecting wall between the walk-in freezer and the pantry, and now thrice weekly Eddie runs table-top games for varying age-sets and skill-levels. (At Steve’s request, the elementary school group is called H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS FIRE CLUB. Not because he thinks it needs to be censored. He just thinks it’s funny.) (He’s right.)
It was supposed to be a record store but now it’s so much more. Now there are listening parties and movie screenings and little league teams with his store’s name on the back of their jerseys and and and—
Eddie used to think, if he got lucky, he’d last a year. Now he’s closing in on 30. He was profiled by the local newspaper. They called him “a pillar of the community.”
Wild.
It’s a warm, sunny April morning. He’s sitting at the takeout window, sipping coffee from the bottom half of a teapot-teacup combo that reads, in a menacing blood-red font, THIS FREAK DRINKS TEA. His hair is gathered in a loose braid, the ends still damp from his post-run shower. (Sometime in their mid-thirties Steve tricked him into maintaining a consistent cardio routine, and now he’s the type of person who gets out of bed at the crack of dawn to knock out an “easy three.” He’s a monster, a husk of his former self. A husk with a much-improved lung capacity and thighs that can juice a watermelon but nonetheless HUSK.) The middle school is about a half mile from the shop; he pulls faces at all the students filtering past. (Steve’s kids, current and former, refer to Eddie exclusively as Mr. Munson’s Husband. It never fails to thrill him.)
He’s leaning back to flip the record piping through the store’s speakers (“Dustin I don’t care if it’s ‘easier’ to ‘create a Spotify account,’ whatever that means. We play vinyl only! Let me be pretentious about this one thing!”) when he hears a meek, polite cough coming from just beneath the window. He peers out and on the sidewalk stands a girl. She’s small, too little to be one of Steve’s. She clutches the strap of her backpack, blue eyes huge with nerves and determination.
“Hail and well met, weary traveler!” He’s speaking in what Steve calls his Dork Voice, the slightly tuned-down version he uses to put shy kids at ease. “How might I be of assistance?” The girl purses her lips, sets her shoulders, shakes her shaggy bangs out of her face. Eddie thinks suddenly of Nancy and Robin and his heart clenches.
“Do you like games?” She asks.
He smiles softly. Drops the act. “Yeah.” He rests his scarred cheek in the cradle of his palm. “I like games. Do you like games?”
The dam breaks.
“Yes!” She replies at once, breathless with enthusiasm. “My family plays a lot of board games, like Game of Life and Monopoly, and they’re okay but kind of boring, but my brother taught me how to play Settlers of Catan and I really liked that, and my friends and I played Werewolf at a sleepover but we made up a bunch of extra rules to make it harder, and my cousin showed me this video game where the ending changes based on what choices you make and that’s so cool—”
“Alright, slugger.” Eddie can’t help but laugh. “What game are you looking to play?”
The girl collects herself. “Okay,” she says. “Okay, so. So I like it in games where there are rules, but also you can make stuff up? And you can do something weird that might ruin everything but also might pay off? And sometimes you have to work with other people to accomplish your goal, but alliances can break?” Eddie nods. “So there’s this one game. It sounds like so much fun, but nobody I know plays it. They play it on this show I like, well, okay, it’s not really a show, it’s, uh, okay do you know what a podcast is?” Eddie beams.
Steve swapped study hall coverage so he could pop in for lunch. Tonight is parent-teacher conferences, which means Steve’ll be home late, which means Eddie will get absorbed in a project and either crash upstairs or stumble home well after Steve’s gone to bed, which means they’ve got to snatch the time together they can get. They split a sandwich, a salmon burger from Costco Eddie threw in the air fryer and smashed up with avocado and grilled poblano pepper. (”It’s heart healthy!” “You’re heart healthy.” “Aw.” “I meant that as an insult.” “I’m not taking it as one, mwah mwah mwah.”) Eddie eats too fast, as he often does, and drags his nails over the veins of Steve’s forearm to distract himself from his gastrointestinal tract turning inside out.
“🎶Myyyy babyyyy myyyyyy babyyyyyy,” he hums against the shell of Steve’s ear. “You’reeee my babyyyyy sayyyy it to meeeeee🎶.” “Alright,” he huffs, tapping his fingers to the knobby bone of Eddie’s wrist. He presses a kiss to the underside of Eddie’s jaw and rises. “I gotta get back.” He slings his messenger bag over his shoulder, gathers the papers he’d promised he’d grade but didn’t. Eddie watches him readjust, watches him smooth down the salt-and-pepper hairs dusting his temples, watches him push his glasses up the bridge of his nose. He catches Eddie watching and asks, slyly, “What?”
Eddie wants to say, I love you. He wants to say, you’ve made me happier than I ever thought I could be. He wants to say, I’m so grateful I built this life with you.
But he’s still himself, so what he says is, “Those khakis make your ass look great.”
Steve scoffs, and with a bitchy eye roll he sinks his weight onto his back foot and says, “I KNOW,” and there he is. There’s the man he married. He looks over his shoulder before he leaves, his honey-warm eyes liquifying Eddie’s spine.
“Hey,” he murmurs. “I love you too.” Eddie kisses him and kisses him and kisses him. Pretty good life.

What is your opinion on the books hinting that Moon shouldn't have existed but the Faz-pads most expensive menu items is moon themed? And the posters, plushies, and the infamous sphere? I loved your other 'rant' (for lack of a better term in my sleep deprived mind) and it got me thinking...
I’m guessing you mean the Moon that appears in The Bobbiedots who was originally built to be the “dark side” of Sun and once worked as a theatre animatronic?
Okay spoilers for The Bobbiedots, Somniphobia and Security Breach and some rambling thoughts ahead:
In short, I think the books’ canon (even from one book to another like say Bobbiedots and Somniphobia) and the games’ canon are more like AUs of each other than anything else, so basically different explanations will be given in different stories to fit that book or game in particular. So, Bobbiedots Moon wasn’t meant to exist in the daycare, but it looks like Security Breach Moon was. That said, I LOVE exploring the different versions of Moon and how he’s used in different stories, so if anyone wants to take the long scenic route with me, here we go!
Bobbiedots Moon
Theatre kid extraordinaire. A little too committed to the bit. Bobbiedots Moon doesn’t fit in his world - not in the daycare anyway. In The Bobbiedots, they’re busy dealing with an evil apartment. They don’t have time for poor Moon, no matter how badly he wants them to sleep.
Bobbiedots Moon feels like a bit of a throwback to the animatronics in Sister Location who had all these “interesting” design choices, like a stomach hatch for storing children (which totally wasn’t going to be used for evil, come on guys …).
In Moon’s case, he’s so good at being a pantomime villain (which is what he was made for from what we can tell - who bets he got booed because the kids wanted the sun to come back up and when the lights went out they’d fake snore and he’d go hunting down the naughty ones who couldn’t help but laugh?) that he’s no good in the daycare (personally I think the staff just weren’t imaginative enough in that universe to do naptime, or to appreciate the charm of a weird clown telling off wobbling toys for not sleeping when his recognition sensors inevitably failed him because they couldn’t be bothered to fix their broken animatronics). And he’s easy to exploit because he’s so committed to his role.
I don’t think Moon was evil by default when he worked at the theatre - at least not beyond his villainous role. He had an audience of probably more people than he could grab, and I’m guessing Freddy’s wanted repeat performances so their customers would keep coming back. Did he kidnap a child or two when the lights went out and everyone was confused? Maybe, if he was virus-riddled enough. Did he become a lot more unstable when he and Sun were moved to the daycare? Probably, but it’s not his fault he was an afterthought in a cheapo organisation that seems to think using precariously-placed backup generators is a better solution to their problems.
Security Breach Moon
Meanwhile, the Security Breach version of Moon has a TON of merch, a dish at the restaurant (Masa-Moondrop curry, yum! 💖 By the way, I totally recommend checking out this recipe ), and even his own little candy adverts. He’s on a statue, balloons, plushies, and even on the daycare pass right next to Sun. It would take a LOT of accidental advertising to put Moon all over the place if he wasn’t supposed to exist in Security Breach.
I think that, unlike the Bobbiedots Moon, Security Breach Moon was supposed to exist. Like you said, he’s got merch everywhere. It’s a big deal. And Moon’s merch matches all of Sun’s merch, so to me it makes sense that in the backstory of the game’s universe they both had a friendly role to play (I can’t imagine why they’d make a Moon plush with no one to hug him. The thought makes me sad. It also seems like a bad business move on their part so I’m opting to believe he was originally meant to be a friend to the kids).
But it looks like things took a turn at some point (as they so often do in the FNAF universe), as Security Breach also has the cheapo lighting in place, and Sun is pretty adamant that we don’t wake up Moon. And in this case it’s pretty clear that Moon has been infected by the Afton virus. He sounds like a bot with just one thing on his mind: putting you to bed at all costs.
Moon is a major player as far as the evil Afton operation goes in the game too. They picked a perfect bot to do their dirty work. He’s super strong - he knocked out Freddy and dragged him away with no problems. He’s also super agile - he can navigate all the tight twists and turns in the Daycare with relative ease (I pointedly ignore the version in my game while I make this statement as he seemed to spend most of his time getting stuck in the tunnels and slides kekeke). And he always seems to know where you are - the Glamrocks wander until they have you in their sights, but Moon makes a beeline for you the moment he can get his hands on you even if you’re inside Freddy’s stomach compartment. He works in the dark when no one can see him coming. He’s basically the perfect replacement for the night staff and makes it a million times easier to capture wayward kids.
There are also a lot of hints in the game that suggest that Security Breach Moon might have actually been reprogrammed to respond this way, and/or that he was used to reprogram the others.
The back areas with the endos are FULL of Moon merch, advertising, and so on. There are also a lot of posters teaching the animatronic endos how to behave, as well as a little room that looks a LOT like a little replica of the daycare play area. I’m pretty sure that this is where the animatronics (or at least the virus-riddled endos) were reprogrammed to capture children - maybe including Moon.
(There are a million things I could say about this poster and how it bears a strong resemblance to a bunch of things from earlier games but that’s for another time and another ramble …)
Somniphobia Moon
Meanwhile, over in Somniphobia, we have Moondrop’s dream sphere, where Moon ponders his orb, or perhaps his new friends who are now trapped inside it forever since it seems like he’s been stealing more than a few souls over there.
The dream sphere is not mentioned in The Bobbiedots or seen in Security Breach as far as I can tell. Whether it exists or not in those universes is open to interpretation, but it serves a clever purpose in Somniphobia. In this book, our favourite uncanny night jester spends his time luring unsuspecting victims into the dreamscape slowly without them realising. The protagonist actually has a few opportunities to escape the pull of the orb, but he just can’t put the dream sphere down because it takes him back to his favourite memories with his (now dead) father, and it makes their time together feel so real.
The dream sphere is advertised as a study guide, and it’s popular with older kids and teens. (Moon has the range). Our regular chase-you-down-and-force-you-to-sleep Moon is nowhere to be found in Somniphobia (whether he exists at the plex in the daycare or anywhere else in that universe is anybody’s guess) and instead we have sweet little Moondrop from the dream sphere who doesn’t speak but will let you see your wildest dreams. At the cost of your mind, which is now going to live in a sphere I guess or be harvested.
Can you befriend the little Moondrop from the dream sphere? Does he know he’s part of a creepy soul-stealing operation? The book doesn’t really say, but if he’s anything like most of the other animatronic/AI characters in the FNAF universe, I’d be willing to wager he’s just doing his job (showing people what they want to see) and being used as a prop for more nefarious soul-snatching schemes. (Curse you Fazbear Entertainment for giving us this funny little guy in a magic snowglobe and making him steal our souls along with our hearts!)
Conclusion
Essentially, I think Moon is being used in basically all the universes he appears in because he’s so perfectly built for capturing and retrieving wayward souls, but the way he’s being used differs a little between universes. In some universes it’s just not as convenient to have him showing up in front of a large audience thanks to his programming, but when the lights inevitably go out he has a tendency to show up nonetheless!
#fableasks#fnaf#moondrop#fnaf security breach#fnaf daycare attendant#long post#fablespeaks#somniphobia spoilers#bobbiedots spoilers#thanks so much for the ask!#this was a really roundabout way of saying that I think they’re all made for different universes#so essentially Moon comes in different flavours#fablethoughts

yoooooooo, I was scrolling through your old blogs and I found you had a mystery files jacket??????? Did you get that at the old shop?? Also what other kind of watcher merch do you have? Cause like, I'm thinking of getting some but I'm afraid they'll add something new and then I've wasted all my money :(
yeah!! i have a mystery files jacket! i got it on the old watcherstore when mystery files premiered last year. i love it, it has inside pockets!!! i wore it to the chicago pride parade last year too!
i have quite a bit of watcher merch because im 🤏 irresponsible with money, and my brother and parents get me watcher merch for birthdays and christmas.
i have the professor plush which i love and cherish so much. he is perfect for squeezing when i get really excited and need to stim
the watcher logo patch and the weird wonderful world patch (that are just by my computer, offering their support)
the weird wonderful world shirt (i actually have 2 because one was misprinted and i was able to get a replacement)
the team shaniac shirt that just cracks me up everytime i look at it. i wore it when i met shane and ryan on tour last october!
the lil ghost from too many spirits pin that lives on my fluffy white coat.
the professor scrunchie and the too many spirits scrunchie (they came as a duo). im obsessed with the professor scrunchie im too scared to wear it cus i dont want to get it dirty. (THEY GAVE HIM A HAT !! THEY PUT A LITTLE HAT ON A SCRUNCHIE AREYOUKIDDINGME??? THATS SO CUTE!)
i got the 2023 signed ghost files tour poster, i still need to get a frame for it.
and i recently pre ordered the team shaniac patch, and im planning on putting it on my mystery files jacket.
also im not saying because of this ask i checked out the watcherstuff merch site and impulse ordered the s1 puppet history pins BUT THATS KINDA WHAT JUST HAPPENED LMAOO (listennnn its been rough, i deserve a little treat in the form of wearing god on my jacket)
their merch is really good, i like it a lot. its cute, some of it is subtle, and good quality. everything i got, besides the shaniac patch, was from the old store. if i remember right, theyre currently switching merch companies ?? and i dont think the old merch is coming back (i could be wrong, i dont work there lol). but if you do want a shot at some of the old merch, they're selling mystery boxes on their watcherstuff store now. plus anything labeled "first edition" is from their old merch store. my guess is when that is sold out, its gone.
it'll probably take them some time to design, produce, and sell new merch. so if you want something now, id get it now because you'll likely have time before the next new drop. but the current merch likely isnt going to go away any time soon.
#special intrest plus being an 'adult' with money means im gonna buy things that make me feel nice when i see and wear them#plus im supporting watcher which feels nice#watcher#thanks for the ask!

[Long text post warning]
Guys.. there's something I need to confess..
*Ahem*
If you guys ever thought that my Sonic and Sonic.exe phase are bad.. just know, that..
My Minecraft phase was even WORSE as a kid.
NO- FR- I used to play the game so much on my mom's old computer, I accidentally got blown up by my first mob, which was a Creeper (because I genuinely thought it was harmless), I even got 2 Minecraft plushies (I think.?) And a Minecraft poster of a cat chasing a creeper. I used to have 2 posters, but one of them just didn't wanna stick on the wall, so my mom had to put it away because the corner were already ripped a bit. I even used to have this big Minecraft torch that I would put on my wall as a nightlight (but it eventually faded in light and had to be put away as well)-- hell, I even have a Minecraft bed sheet as well as 2 pillow covers for my 2 pillows (because I had a little Among us phase and now have a blanket, 2 plushies, and a pillow cover relating to that game- BUT WE DONT TALK ABOUT THAT ^^"). And if you think that isn't enough, I have 2 little figures of Alex and this... Blaze (I think thats what it was..? Idk), both of them in minecarts stored inside of the little pokeballs I have on the desk close to the mirror. I think I might have a few Minecraft related stuff hidden away, but I'm too lazy to think about them since I just woke up and started writing this-- but yea....
I even used to have the Minecraft Story Mode games, and even Minecraft on the Xbox because WHY NOT?! :]
Though.. I didn't play Minecraft on the Xbox as much since I was so used to the PC version, so it was a bit hard to control it.
Not only that, but the fact I used to hear fanmade Minecraft parody songs of popular songs at the time.... I used to hear so many parodies of my favorite songs, even the infamous "Don't Mine at Night" song 😭
I used to hear it so much that, now when I hear those said popular songs on the radio I always play when I'm asleep, I start to remember the lyrics of those Minecraft parody songs more than the actual songs playing on the radio WHICH- MIND YOU- ITS STILL MY FAVORITE RADIO STATION TO THIS DAY DESPITE THE OBVIOUS SUGGESTIVE SONGS💀😭
But they bring back old classics sometimes and even some good new songs, so its all good👍 (and hey, maybe even a bit of Disney songs at rare times, or maybe some songs that I've heard in animation memes- those are always fun to stumble into when listening to the same radio station for years, now.)
But uhmm.................
Yea-
But I guess I can't say my Minecraft phase wasn't too bad, per se...? Because I did the same with My Little Pony, The Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon, Five Nights at Freddy's(that phase was.... hell, actually. I couldn't stop talking about the game to my parents- and because of the movie that came out a long time ago but is still recent- it boosted the little fnaf phase that i had left hanging by a thread due to my Sonic phase taking over, i got to buy fnaf merch as well--), Bendy and The Ink Machine(it was a bit minor, but it definitely did a very good impact to my phase with FNAF), Cuphead(again, i watched gameplay and started hearing cuphead fan songs over and over, and i even have both Cuphead games that i never finished- i think i used to have a comic dub phase where i would watch so many cuphead dubs as well as FNAF and Baldi's Basics), Just Shapes and Beats (again- i just watched so much gameplay, I even had an animation meme phase that lasted up to 2022, and played the Story Mode many times as well as making my parents play the multi-player mode with me :])-- Fandroid, and then there was a bit of Osu one day, then I went from Nightcore to hearing Vocaloid, and then FNF (which was just watching the gameplays of almost all of the fnf mods I knew as well as hearing some of the fnf mod songs over and over, which i still do! It's just... filled with demon hedgehogs that have a little word next to them called "EXE", so uhm... YEA-), and not only that, but fnf mods were actually the ones that introduced me to the Fleetway comics and even started my Sonic.exe phase (which I still have.......-) and then I eventually watched gameplay of the Sonic.exe fan games, too.)
So, uhm...
Me having a Sonic phase isn't exactly new...
But I'm back to buying merch. And when I say that, I mean like.. I got at least 3 T-shirts of this blue gumball son of a gun, 2 Shadow plushes, 3 Sonic plushes, a rectangle package that has at least 4 or 3 official Sonic art as frames to put on the wall (but I never did because the nails that I see in my room are kinda running out, so it's just sitting there on the floor, using the wall as support to keep it up), a little Sonic school pouch to put in my school stuff, some Sonic stickers--
I think it's obvious that you can find a little bit of everything in my room.
So uh.....
Yah....
That's uhm... that's all--
#kit's ramblings#Minecraft#fandoms#sth#.....need i mention the time i used to replay mlp songs on my radio because it has a disc where#you can put cds on it....?#most of the stuff i mentioned isnt even the half of it#...sort of

Travelogue: Kuroshitsuji
I've been back from my vacation for a few weeks now and decided to write a little bit about it. :) I will restrict myself to Kuroshitsuji-related things.
I spotted some Kuroshitsuji volumes fairly early on in my trip (they were in the first bookstore we visited!), but it took a bit longer to find some merch, and the first thing I spotted was this:
A clothes-hanger XD
Thankfully, it wasn't all that Animate store had in stock. Right below the clothes-hanger were tapestries, and just around the corner was the rest of the merchandise. And it was so great to spot Kuro merch in shops that didn't have S1/S2 art on it for once (that's, unfortunately, still the norm in Germany for some reason?).
(As you can see at the bottom of the last picture, it says 8.17 to 9.15 - I first spotted that merch on September 16. It remained there until I left nearly a month later, only the event info was removed.)
That Animate also had the volumes, of course, with Sebastian and Ciel on the divider (and their cousin series right with them!). They were also in the seinen corner which is why I didn't find them immediately.
We were a few days in Tokyo too, and I found more merchandise at Tree Village. I liked its selection a bit more because I don't care much about acrylic standees and buttons (though I did end up buying some for other fandoms...).
If the puzzle had a nicer motive I would have got it 100% because I love puzzles. The Emerald Witch posters better be stunning so that we can get stunning puzzles of them too.
Amiani had some merch too.
Below Amiani was a second-hand figure store whose name I didn't catch. I, unfortunately, couldn't explore it (my siblings and I were running late already and our mother and cousin were waiting downstairs - and while Akihabara was fun while we were briefly there, an absurd amount of people in the anime shops we visited reeked like they hadn't had a shower in months) but I did spot a Ciel and a Sebastian while waiting by its entrance, so that was nice.
I had really hoped that I could find some old Kuro merch in second-hand stops. Something from BoC or BoM or BotA; something from a special collaboration - anything, really. My brother got really attached to a series of second-hand stores (Book Off) because they had the video game guidebooks he had wanted for ages. We had a Book Off close to where we stayed, but he would also drag us to larger ones farther away, so we spent quite some time in Book Offs (and we also went to K-Books in Tokyo). Each store was amazing, and I searched them carefully every time, but, well, apart from DVDs and manga volumes, I only found Kuro stuff once.
I have no idea what was going on, if Kuro fans just don't like to part with their merch ever, or I was just super unlucky (and I was unlucky in some other timing aspects argh), but that was everything. Just cards from a cafe collaboration. They are very beautiful; however, I didn't end up getting any. Maybe I should have got one because they make good bookmarks but I found other things I wanted more and I had hoped I would find more Kuro stuff elsewhere...
(Also, oddly enough, Grelle's cards were the least expensive of them? Undertaker's were either 770 or 990 Yen, and Grelle's were "just" 350.)
(I guess I might have found more if we had been in Akihabara for a longer time/in more shops there but time was limited and people were just too stinky...)
Do you know what existed in overabundance everywhere? Twisted Wonderland merchandise. You could enter any store that carried anime merch of any kind and get showered in Twisted Wonderland merch. So if you're a fan or that game, you would 1000% find something. (I've never played it myself.)
Oh, and there were posters too!
(These posters were on the way to an absurdly deeply placed train platform, and it felt a bit like a fever dream encountering them for the first time.)
We also went to the Kyoto Manga Museum which was a great experience and very unlike any museum experience I had in Germany. The museum informs you about the history of mangas and how mangas are made, but it also collects and preserves mangas, from really old to new ones. They are not only display articles though. Apart from some very old mangas, you can just pick and read them too (inside the museum or on its lawn in front of the building).
I think this is something that only be done in certain places. I doubt a museum like that would work so well in Germany. (Mangas wouldn't be put back, wouldn't look as neat anymore, etc. (99% of books in second-hand stores are in very neat condition too, and people go there just to read those books too if a library isn't nearby/well-stocked and because new books are wrapped in plastic. When they're done reading, they just put them back where they got them.))
Right by the museum's entrance is the "International Mangas" area, and the first shelves you see when you come in are the German mangas - with the German Kuro volumes right on top!
The museum also hosts temporary art exhibitions; when we were there, it was a Delicious in Dungeon one. (I haven't watched/read it but the exhibition was fun still.)
The museum was warmly (and threateningly) recommended by some old family friends (they really wanted us to visit there). They were also very surprised to hear that anime/manga is very popular in the West too. It didn't matter what kind of anime/manga it was too: They were surprised that Demon Slayer is so well-known and popular here too. They got very excited when they spotted my Kuroshitsuji purse. They couldn't believe we knew Detective Conan or had Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne or Inazuma Eleven on TV, etc. They were even shocked I know and play the Ace Attorney and Professor Layton games.
(They were also happy to hear that my brother and I used to watch Doremi on TV around the same time they got up early to watch it on TV too before school. We moved away but still did things "together" without knowing.)
I think it's very fun how popular Japanese media in the West is - and how Japanese people, apparently, don't even know about that. I don't know if it's just them, but they're my and my brother's age (20s-30s) and in touch with these things and didn't know. We also met up with older people, and some also read mangas and were surprised we did too; their surprise was more "understandable" at least because they're 50-80(+) years old.
We visited a few shrines too, of course. One of which was rather interesting because everyone seems to have sponsored it. (And that's why everything looks extremely clean and pristine, like it was only just built.)
For example, Soma's VA Shinnosuke Tachibana.
And the entire Straw Hat Crew???
In Tokyo, we were also in Disneyland.
Because it was during the Halloween Party period, many people were in costumes which was super fun. There were a lot of Twisted Wonderland cosplayers too. We encountered some, i.a., at the Snow White Well, and they were very kind because they quickly made way for us to take pictures too before they resumed their photoshooting.
We went on the Haunted Mansion Holiday Edition ride (which is Nightmare Before Christmas themed), so Yana's Tweet later on was fun to read. Her assistants went for her, and I did too. <3
And now on to my little Kuroshitsuji haul :)
I got the Japanese Character Guide! The German guide was the first Kuro thing I ever bought (in 2015; did a quick trip into the city during a free period right before chemistry class heh). The translation might be wonky and inaccurate at times, but I have the book very dear nonetheless for that sentimental reason.
I love to compare editions from different languages, and look how thick the Japanese one is in comparison!! (That it's smaller in height was unsurprising because Japanese books are mostly that small but I was taken aback by its thickness.)
I hope we get a new character guide. The one I got was from the 41st print; it's time for a new one, but I guess we'll have to wait until the series ends for it, if we get one at all.
I got the severed heads too <3
I spotted them in Animate for the first time, but didn't buy them then. By the time we went to Tree Village, their price was reduced, and I got them <3 They weird me out a little but they're also very squishy.
The pocket mirror was the first piece of merch I got on the trip (you can see it in the shop if you scroll up! it was the last one they had), and I was very happy to see and get it because I always wanted a foldable pocket mirror like that. (I already have a Kuroshitsuji pocket mirror with UT on it from when I was in a zine; however, because it isn't a foldable one, I never used it orz One day, I will find a suitable little bag for it and I get to carry it around without fear.)
And a little Ciel keychain because it's so cute <3
It was a lovely trip, and I leave it at that, or I will dissolve into sappy rambling because it was a very special trip too.^^
#other stuff#we went to many more places of course#like the kyoto railway museum which was a DREAM#fantastic museum 11/10#I recommend it obviously#(I will try to post more here again!)#(there is just lots of stuff to sort through after I returned)

okay here comes a LONGGGGG post about my experience at eras 🫶
———
we arrived yesterday. today in the morning i went have breakfast (a shake and some crepes) and then i went back to the hotel with my friend to get dressed up. after that we went grab the metro to the santiago bernabeu stop because it’s the closest one to the stadium.
when we got down and saw the stadium for the first time (well- second for me) we started freaking out because we were SO CLOSE to actually being IN there.
we first went check out the merch stores, at first i wasn’t going to buy anything but i ended up deciding to get the blue crewneck :,) afterwards we went look for a place to eat. i had a plate of pasta.
then we took some pictures outside (there was an eras tour film poster!!) and during the hour we had until our doors opened we decided to go trade bracelets. my friend ran out of them but because i was a beast and made 60 for 1 night i still have a few left.
i swear to god everyone was SO NICE, which was so refreshing because i’m used to the people in my school which are the closest thing to demons tbh. plus after having been bullied and excluded from all kinds of hangouts it felt so beautiful to feel included and see everyone so warming and friendly. 😭 if i could live at a taylor swift concert i would.
16:00 came and we decided to join our queue because even thought we had assigned seats we wanted to go in asap ! at first i was worried because i had a portable battery and i thought they’d throw it but ig the guard didn’t see it because we got in without any problem! by 16:20 we were in :D
our section was right in front of us but we wanted to check where the bathroom was first. the “field” is not closed so you could kinda see the stage and GUYS we freaked out again because there’s no way to describe what you feel when you see the eras tour stage for the first time because it means you’re THERE. that this is happening and you’re actually going to see taylor perform a 3 hour and a half show with all her eras (except debut but that’s a topic for another day). that the day you’ve been waiting for for so long has finally come. 😭
we talked a lot with a girl in front of us and the two beside us (the seats next to me were empty until way after paramore finished) and they were super nice, we love them 🫶 we traded some other bracelets and took some photos
then paramore came out and hayley was SO GOOD!!!! while they’re not my favorite band they were soooo fun and i knew some songs so i sang along :,) however i was sweating so much and i also needed to go to the bathroom because i had drunk like 5 bottles of water because it was HOT and also i was afraid of dehydration lol. so i had to miss 2 songs so i could go refresh myself.
we kept waiting and here i got mad because after paramore my friend said “i’m going to the bathroom” and i was like ok sure. 20 minutes went by and she was still not here so i got scared thinking i’d lost her, so i went find her…. the minute i crossed the door in ha mood started playing and everyone screamed. my friend was in the queue all nice and was the next to go in, so i got back to our seats and asked one of the girls we’d befriended if the “cleaning cart” had come out and she said yes 😭 i had missed that moment but all fine
my friend came back during applause. the countdown started and we all FREAKED OUT X3 and started counting down screaming from 13 downwards. i filmed my reaction to the intro because while i had seen it a billion times already seeing it live feels SO DIFFERENT (but the video got cut the instant taylor appeared smh). i was trembling and almost crying, for some reason singing along to the intro like it was my job.
… SHE came out. we screamed cried probably fainted too and here i kinda lost myself because i just remember being so excited about the bodysuit (i love purple and the tassels JSKAJ) and thinking like “oh my god she’s there she’s actually there i am seeing her in person she’s so pretty what what wHAT” and screaming miss americana + cruel summer like it was my only purpose in this life.
the crowd was insanely loud so i decided to play it safe and put earplugs on and LORDDDD THE DIFFERENCE taylor sounded SO much better, like you could actually hear her voice clearly and neatly and i got out with no ringing or pain whatsoever. i could sing along quite loudly and perfectly fine without only hearing myself (i only took them out in very specific occasions like illicit affairs and the smallest man who ever lived)
she spoke to us in spanish too 😭 just a few words but “encantada de conoceros” “hola” "vamos!!" “bienvenidos a la eras tour” “muchas gracias” etc. told us how we were being sooo loud and probably the loudest crowd ever!!! she also said that we all made her feel at home here not only in the stadium but also outside <3 (ik she says more or less the same things in every country but shhhh)
the 22 hat kid was ADORABLE he was so excited to get the hat and the interaction was so cute overall <3 during all too well she stopped a second to say that we were singing sooo loud (which from what i’ve seen does not happen too often!) and that this is the loudest she has ever heard this song 💓
during reputation we screamed “in the middle of the night in madrid” andddd we believe that she may have sung it too during the last verse which would be INCREDIBLE and so iconic 😭
in folkmore there was an issue with her guitar (she did not explain what) but it got fixed super quickly. i love small mishaps like these because it makes her look more authentic (?), like closer to the public, makes the atmosphere kinda look like we are all friends in here and she’s just at a cafe with a friend chatting jksja.
she also had to stop twice; once during betty and another during august, because some people in GA needed help. she saw the flashlights and asked (in spanish) the guards and sanitary staff to help. it was so nice to see how much she cares for the safety of her crowds, like you could see during betty how her face changed to a soft expression once she's told that everything was okay 🤍 we also have to thank that the staff in our show was fast and did everything right :)
the champagne problems ovation was adorable, i love in general her reactions because that’s pookie right there. it’s so personal to me how she throws her arms around her head and laughs and says i love you thank you like a hundred times ugh i love her with my whole soul ☹️
1989 was soo fun! (i got the outfit right but wrong order 😭) but the bad blood fires were. pretty noticeable LMFKWOS it was already hot and with then the thing got much hotter but it cooled down quite fast.
TTPD OH MY GODDDDD it’s def my favorite set. loved the choreo the outfits the setlist EVERYTHINGGGGG. i screamed the the smallest man who ever lived sooo loud and the i can do it with a broken heart’s “intro” was so fun too ajdkaj. i loved so high school even if it was just 30 seconds jdka
THE. SURPRISE. SONGS. at first she started talking about how we have been supporting her since the beginning and we knew a debut song was coming. the jump then fall mashup was AWESOME it’s one of my faves from fearless and it fit so well 🫶
for the piano one she said nothing. she just sat and started playing. i knew that i recognized the song but i could not fully realize which song it was until she sang “i’m perfectly fine” and there i lost it. i went blank for 5 seconds and then just SCREAMEDDDDD those lyrics like my life depended on it. i will never hear these 3 songs the same way again 🥹
after those surprise songs i went blank again but this time because the visuals of lavender haze are so beautiful i had to record them. i had to sit down during mastermind because my feet were exhausted… during karma i had a breakdown because it meant that the best day of my entire life was coming to an end, so i was singing along while crying like a little kid.
overall, i would repeat this a billion more times. it was the best night of my life and it has marked a before and after in my life (not exaggerating) and i hope i have the chance to experience these same feelings again for a future tour 🫶

(part 2)
The Bible, the Vedas, the Daodejing - the universal truth towards which all these works grasp is neither god nor heaven, but rather, the state-structure. Humanity makes states the same way that ants make hills and bees make hives: unthinkingly, instinctively, irrepressibly. Family, culture, community - all of these are the different cells of the state-structure replicating themselves in our every experience. Let go of sentiment, become subsumed in the world around you, and you too will see the veins of the state-structure.
- Excerpt from Authoritarianism is Good when I Do It, by Maria von Zuckerberg-Lorraine
“Thank you! Xiexie! Multajn Dankojn! Thank you to all my voters and subscribers for your support, mwah!”
Sunny blew a kiss to the unfathomable audience watching her morning updates and affirmations from the other side of a screen.
“This is so exciting, and I couldn’t have done it without you. To celebrate, there’s a 25% off sale for the entire - that’s right, the entire merch store, and we’ve added three new body pillow designs to commemorate the occasion! If you’ve ever wanted to snuggle up close with your new president, now’s your chance. Okay, I have to go now, lots of presidential business to attend to, but don’t get up to trouble while I’m gone, mmkay? Love you! Byeeee!”
The live feed ended. Three thousand miles away, in a Bay Area penthouse apartment, Maria von Zuckerberg-Lorraine regarded what she had just seen. She turned to her bot-ler, a squat old model that she had nicknamed ‘Torgo.’
“Your gin, madam,” Torgo said through a speaker that crackled with age, carrying a bottle of gin and a chilled glass on the flat top of its frame.
“Thank you, Torgo.” Maria poured herself a drink and took a sip. “Can you believe it? Her first act as president is shilling her body pillows to lonely teenagers. I ought to hate it, but it’s so… American.” Maria tossed her hair back and took another sip.
Maria was tall, a hair over six feet, and broad in the shoulders and hips. She was a celebrated member of the Worshipful Order of Posters (more commonly referred to as the Poster’s Union), and the author of numerous lengthy treatises, including Good Things are Bad Actually, I am the Only Smart Person on This Bitch of an Earth, and of course her evergreen bestseller Authoritarianism is Good when I Do It. She was a controversial figure within the posting scene - her detractors claimed that her works are overly self-serving and her popularity is largely due to her evil milf aesthetics, while her supporters referred to her as ‘mommy.’
“Hello, Maria!” Sunny said.
“Hello, Sunny,” Maria replied. She started to take another sip of gin, then froze. There was Sunny, looming on her display screen where she had not been looming just a moment before.
“Fuck! How did you - I didn’t even hear you call,” Maria said, fumbling with her glass as she tried not to spill anything.
“So, funny story, I got access to the presidential broadcast system this morning. Gabe - he’s my tech guy - Gabe took a look at it. Turns out, the code hasn’t been updated in a while, so he was able to find an exploit that lets me force-start a call with anyone in the American League! Isn’t that cool?” Sunny grinned, clasping her hands and tilting back and forth with excitement. Colorful little hearts floated around her.
“So what you’re saying is that you hacked me.”
“No, no, no, I just accessed your connection without your knowledge or consent.”
“Literally that’s… never mind. Not like privacy law means anything nowadays,” Maria hid her frown behind another sip.
“Are you drinking?” Sunny asked.
Maria set her glass back on top of Torgo and laid back in her chair, as if pushed over a heavy existential weight. “The Global Logistics Network has automated away half the jobs in existence and gamified the other half. Aivrcade’s VR worlds are more popular than every other video game and most hard drugs combined. The whole world is turning into one big Skinner box. Why aren’t you drinking?”
“Because it’s like nine thirty in the morning. Listen, I was thinking about offering you a job, but you’re being kind of a bummer right now and it’s making me reconsider.”
Maria sat up. “A job? What job?”
“Oh, you know, Secretary of Education.”
Maria blinked. “As in, your Secretary of Education? As in, you’re offering me an executive cabinet position?”
Sunny nodded. “Why so surprised? You’re smart, you’re popular, and you’re an established name in the Poster’s Union. Sounds like a good candidate to me. That is, until I saw you being surly and drinking alone.”
“Wait. I…”
“Yes?” Sunny leaned forward and rested her chin on her hands.
"So you... hmm." Maria crossed her arms. She knew what Sunny wanted her to say, but her soul could tell that she was getting ready to sell it, and it wasn’t going to leave without a fight.
“Alright," she finally said, "how, may I ask, could I be less of a bummer?”
“Funny you should ask, you just have to answer some questions I have prepared for such an occasion. Question one: did you vote for me?”
Maria drummed her fingers. “I voted for the ghost of John Brown, as I have done for every presidential election. But you were my second.”
“Good enough, I appreciate the honesty. Question two: praise me.”
“Excuse me?”
“Praise me. Min laŭdu. Shake it for the camera so I know how bad you really want it.”
Maria’s fingers clenched around her biceps. “That’s not a question.”
“You’re right, it’s an order. Now get praising,” Sunny said, her smile still warm and bright.
“Alright, alright, fine. You’re… the least likely candidate to start world war three. Marcus believed his own bullshit, but you strike me as a plain and simple grifter.”
Sunny put a finger to her chin and glanced up in an exaggerated pondering gesture. “Hmm. That doesn’t really feel like a compliment. You’ll have to do better.”
“You’re… dedicated, and charismatic.”
“More. Keep going.”
“And… bespoke. You wear the zeitgeist like a glove.”
“And I’m cute.”
“And you’re cute,” Maria sighed.
“That wasn't very convincing. Say it again.”
Maria bit back a scowl. “You are cute.”
“Yay! That wasn’t so hard, now was it?”
“It was very hard and I feel dirty. Any more questions?"
“Nah, I'm satisfied now.”
“Then as long as I’ve got your attention, I have some new policy suggestions,” Maria brushed off the dirty feelings as snatched up her tabule, opened a document, and began reading aloud. “One: no more World War 2 movies.”
“That can wait until - sorry, what?”
“It’s been over a century!" Maria threw her hands up in exasperation, “It's time to move on, we drained that well dry, we should make movies about something else already. Two: if you’re talking about America you can’t cite de Tocqueville anymore. Same principal applies here, it’s overdone, please just read anyone else.”
“Ahem. You can just send me the list. I’ll be going soon, I have plenty of other people I need to call today,” Sunny said.
“Oh? Who’s the next person you’re going to ambush with a high-ranking job?”
“Oh, you know…” Sunny flashed a defensive smile, “JMR, to be my Secretary of Defense.”
Maria’s face went icy. “JMR? As in Jacob Martin Rider? That tiresome creep will be in charge of our defense? That manor-lord? That dracula?” Maria spat.
Sunny rolled her eyes. “C’mon, Maria. You can’t call him a dracula just because he’s gay and ostentatious.”
“The man wears jodhpurs, Sunny. He’s like a white Yukio Mishima.”
Sunny sighed. “I know he’s… like that, but I’m not exactly spoiled for choice here. Stopping Imperial Quebec was probably the only good thing America’s done this century, and when people think about the Quebec Wars, they think about JMR. I can’t afford to pass up that kind of reputation. And for the record, he’s half-Norteño.”
Maria scoffed. “Norteños are white now, it was in this year’s patch notes.”

Hello Bee!! It’s been a while since I sent an ask, how are you doing? Did you do anything fun today?
I’m going to Tommy’s show next week with some friends and my mom (along with my two younger sisters, but i’m just going to ignore that) so i’m quite excited about that.
I remember you posting something about being there, but I haven’t been keeping up with posts that much recently, so I wanted to ask how it was. (Also an additional question that I was wondering about, do they have a merch table there like they do at concerts? I’ve never actually been to a comedy show so I don’t know what to expect on that front. If they did, what kind of stuff did they have? What were the prices like?)
Sorry to badger you with questions 😅 Anyways, I hope you have a good week!!
- 🪐
Hi Saturn! My day is going good so far. Haven’t done anything super fun but I did write a bit more of my glass divine rewrite this morning and I’m hoping to write more of ready set detonate later today. Rn I’m just at a pharmacy waiting for a prescription to be ready so I’m just aimlessly wandering around the store 😭
Ooooo you’re gonna have such a good time at the show!! It’s very fun and silly (with a lot more singing than I expected)
They do have a merch table! Tbh I only barely glanced at it bc I wasn’t interested in getting any merch, but from what I saw I know they had hoodies and totes (I think) and maybe t shirts? Posters possibly too? Stuff like that. I have no clue about the prices though like I said I didn’t look too closely at it
Hope you have a fun time and that you’re having a lovely week!!
