I saw this and thought "what would someone who isn't a nazi would say?"
And I laughed. I would laugh. There's no fucking way you would think I'm a nazi. Not because I can't be, everyone can be any type of person. But I've been obsessed with extreme political movements since i was 12, I've learned how they operate and I've worked to ensure my way of thinking prevents me from ending in one
I conditioned myself to think "why the fuck am i doing this?" Every time a sense of extreme hatred for a group of people starts. I learned to take a step back and think in every situation where i feel I'm 100% in the right. It's fucking hard, specially when you're autistic and that fucking strong sense of justice that makes me think i need to speak in every fucking argument. But i worked. I've worked since i was a child to not be a nazi. And i learned to identified when my emotions are valid and I can think i hate someone so much and they've done so much damage i think the best for the world is for them to die. And i know even with the valid of my emotions, that doesn't mean a government should kill people
I've learned you can think something should happened to someone, and doesn't mean a government should do it, because a government it's there to protect all the people, and everyone it's people. A government can be kind to everyone, because a government it's not a person and it doesn't have emotions, can't feel resentment. Their purpose should be everyones well being. Because if you let a government be bad to one person, then it can be bad to everyone
People don't need to work like a government. And a government shouldn't work as a person, a government doesn't have the right to validation of its emotions. Because it shouldn't have them
People have the right to have their emotions being validated, and to understand their actions based on that emotions, Doesn't meant they are excused of their actions.
I lost track of what i was saying. No fucking idea what i was saying, fuck this is a good song... so... have a good day?
...Oh, ok. I remembered something. When i say a government has to be able to protect everyone, I'm not saying let the nazis go because they're people, I'm saying look for the reason they are nazis and make sure there won't be more by fixing things. Stop the possibility of being more nazis in the future
What do you do with the ones that exist? Idk man, I'm an engineer, I'm against prisons and i would like to punch them, but i don't think that's exactly the way a government should work, and... well, it's not like I'm the only person in the world and i should know the solution
I would want to punch them, but pretty sure a government shouldn't punch people

I'm starting to think that a whole lot of US Jews don't understand why a crowd of tiki torch Nazis chanted "Jews will not replace us" in Charlottesville. It seems like a lot of US Jews don't yet understand how the anti-immigrant sentiment Trump used to recapture the presidency is a direct threat to US Jews.
If you don't know this yet, please read the broad strokes below:
1. Like a certain Austrian in the 20th century, Trump saw both a disgruntled part of the electorate and their antipathy for non-white, non-Christian, foreign-born people. He capitalized on their xenophobia and feelings of abandonment by blaming foreigners, LGBTQ+ folks, and DEI for all the US's challenges.
He's used and amplified bigotry against already-marginalized people in order to ride his base's bigotry to power. All comparisons people make between this and how Hitler amplified and harnessed the power of antisemitism are entirely appropriate. It's demagoguery.
2. One of the existing, popular, xenophobic ideas on which Trump capitalized is a right-wing conspiracy theory usually called The Great Replacement.
It seems as though many US Jews do not realize that Jews are a huge part of this conspiracy theory.
Great Replacement, also known as white replacement theory or white genocide theory, claims there is an intentional effort, led by Jews, to promote mass non-white immigration, inter-racial marriage, and other efforts that would lead to the âextinction of whites.â
This conspiracy theory was famously promoted at the 2017 âUnite the Rightâ rally in Charlottesville, VA, when white supremacists chanted, âJews will not replace us.â
Right wing commentators have invoked the Great Replacement theory to say Democrats are âreplacingâ American citizens with illegal immigrants. Belief in the Great Replacement theory has been cited as motivation for recent terror attacks, including the 2018 Pittsburgh, PA, synagogue shooting at the Tree of Life, the 2019 El Paso, TX, and Christchurch, New Zealand, shootings, and the 2022 shooting in Buffalo, NY.
4. This isn't a theory limited to the far-right fringe. About half of US Republicans believe it.
It's been actively promoted on Fox "News" by Tucker Carlson and others.
This was the theory Elon Musk agreed with in a tweet, causing a mass exodus of advertisers from Twitter and prompting Musk's apology tour to Auschwitz with Ben Shapiro.
5. The anti-immigrant fervor, the mass deportation plans...? They're all tied up with Jews in the minds of the far-right base to whom Trump and his henchmen keep winking and dogwhistling. Trump has openly endorsed this conspiracy theory.
I see a lot of Jews online deciding to keep their heads down because they think Jews aren't the immediate target of this authoritarian and I'm gobsmacked by their ignorance of history and failure to pay attention to the rapid and violent increase in far-right antisemitic violence in recent years, driven by the very same Trump who they mistakenly believe is "good for the Jews."
Jews are being set up as scapegoats.
----
The irony is amazing, too. If you ask believers in the Great Replacement conspiracy theory for evidence of the Jewish plot to replace white people, they'll produce headlines about Jewish charitable organizations which seek to aid refugees:
The fact that Jews...care about refugees...is the proof of our sinister plot against white people.

Hello people (especially US citizens and friends of whom)! In case you're still in denial about what is happening in America right now, all you need to do is LISTEN.
If the ugly, neanderthal looking vice president's anti-intellectualist speech about "burning all universities" wasn't enough, then let me say what all the posts online are trying to spark in you: FIGHT VISCIOUSLY OR GET OUT!
If you're one of the demographics they're denying passports: sneak onto a cargo ship/flight, make attempts to ILLEGALLY cross borders to Canada or Mexico, or keep an eye out for an Underground Railroad type situation, organized by your fellow marginalized people and privileged supporters.
Remember: Don't panic, organize.
⢠While, at this point, protests might be too dangerous already, there is an, and I quote: "Declassified CIA Guide to Sabotaging Fascism", which is archived here and can of course be put into motion by citizens as well...
⢠Although classic protests are too dangerous, there is a general strike in motion that you can learn about at GENERALSTRIKEUS.com to assert the working class' dominance and lift your voices.
⢠Keep being yourself with your trusted peers (it strengthens your resolutionâĄ)
⢠If you've got a uterus sitting inside you (or somebody you know), stock up on oral contraceptives (they don't really expire and are shelve storable) and/or get your IUD renewed/a sterilizing procedure done ASAP.
⢠Get a tazer, disguised blade or pepperspray and don't respond to the ICE (hide at all cost and "shut the fuck up", as they say). If they do get you, it's my personal suggestion to fight for your life. The place they might take you could, in the future, as well be a concentration camp. And even if you're American, I'd assume you know what they did with prisoners at concentration camps.
⢠Buy physical copies of books on the ban list & get survival guides (reach out to me if you want some oral suggestions on utilizing the natural world if all you have is your clothes and a half full rucksack)
Stay safe & survive! For all of us! Don't be aftraid to punch/kick a nazi! Little tutorial on the former heređŤś

On Tyranny and Tumblr #10: Believe in truth.
To abandon facts is to abandon freedom. If nothing is true, then no one can criticize power, because there is no basis on which to do so. If nothing is true, then all is spectacle. The biggest wallet pays for the most blinding lights.
In other words, Snyder is saying there's a reason an administration might, for example, remove data sets from the CDC website.
Snyder spends a lot of time in this chapter with 1930s German philologist Victor Klemperer's "four modes" of the death of truth under authoritarianism (Snyder, p. 66-69):
"Open hostility to verifiable reality": Lies. Just straight up boldly lying, about anything from the cause of a plane crash to the outcome of an election, especially when the facts are right there and visible to everyone.
"Shamanistic incantation": "Endless repetition" of slogans and nicknames and soundbites until non sequiturs and ad hominem arguments sound like verified fact. For this to work, huge groups of people need to feel more comfortable accepting lies than they do accepting that they can be fooled.
"Magical thinking": "The open embrace of contradiction". This isn't the radical acceptance kind of stuff that you'd learn in therapy to better your individual life. This is 2 + 2 = 5. This is replacing fact checks with, as one former student of Klemperer's put it, "[abandoning] yourself to your feelings and focusing on the Fuhrer's greatness instead of the discomfort you are feeling at present". Scary stuff, but stuff people do all the time.
"Misplaced faith": Basically making a leader into a god, leaving no room "for the small truths of our individual discernment and experience". In this way, truth becomes "oracular rather than factual". Instead of facts being about what can be verified, they become about who said them best and appealed best to the emotions of frightened, poorly educated, prejudiced people.
Snyder also highlights a passage from Romanian playwright Eugène Ionesco's account of his experience in the 1930s with a counterfascist group trying to formulate arguments against those put forth by the Nazi Party.
"From time to time, one of our friends said: 'I don't agree with them, to be sure, but on certain points, nevertheless, I must admit, for example, the Jews...', etc. And this was a symptom. Three weeks later, this person would become a Nazi."
Here are some ways we can focus on believing in truth in our online lives:
If you know a public figure is a large-scale liar - for example, if a reputable newspaper made a list of over 30,000 lies he told in 4 years - don't listen to a word they say. Don't watch the press conferences. Don't focus on quotes or soundbites from them. Go ahead and assume they're only lying if their mouth is open. If they make a factual statement, consider it an accident. Truth isn't about one person, anyway.
Use Media Bias/Fact Check to determine the validity of sources you find on the internet. Try to only get your information from sources with a good fact check score.
Don't repeat falsehoods. Before you reblog or repost anything that appeals to your emotions - makes you angry, makes you sad, makes you feel grim satisfaction or hopelessness or even schadenfreude - research. Find out who said it, when, to whom, and why. If you don't have time to research, don't spread it around.
Learn to read critically. Kelly Jensen wrote a great guide to critically reading a press release from the federal government in 2025.
We covered this a little bit in #9: don't use the same nicknames, slogans, or labels for things that the fascists do. Repeating the "incantations" makes them sound more like truth.
Say true things as loudly as you can. We don't know exactly why a plane and a US Army helicopter crashed over the Potomac River as of this writing, but a lack of air traffic controllers may have contributed to it. Don't even repeat the falsehood in your attempt to refute it. Just research and then say the true thing.
Feel free to list other applications in comments or tags or on reblogs.
Other lessons from On Tyranny:
#1: Do not obey in advance
#2: Defend institutions
#3: Beware the one-party state
#4: Take responsibility for the face of the world
#5-7: Remember professional ethics, Be wary of paramilitaries, and Be reflective if you must be armed
#8: Stand out
#9: Be kind to our language

I could write a goddamn essay about how the "Nazis are inhuman pure evil monsters" logic has actually helped Nazis but unfortunately saying "Hey Nazis ARE people, choosing a group that you don't like and deeming them subhuman and okay to treat as such is not only nazi logic but also makes it easier for Nazism to rise" will probably just have people claim I myself am a Nazi because there are way to many idiots who think that dehumanization is ok when they do it to those who "deserve it"
#*shakes you* if you don't get the point#elon was able to do the goddamn nazi salute and still get defended BECAUSE people believe nazis are these alien âothersâ#that behave like cartoon villains and want to destroy the great country of america#red skull is a believable nazi to these people because he is the enemy of the character literally named captain america#and has an inhuman looking face#but in reality nazis ARE humans and they will act like human beings#while people are on the lookout for a redskull 2.0 to heroically punch#they're simultaneously rolling their eyes at people pointing out actual real nazi behaviour and calling them overdramatic or sensitive#because they can't grasp that nazism is not redskull#they can't grasp that nazism IS those slurs that discrimination those âopinionsâ on politics those viewpoints#nazis aren't sitting in an evil lair they are humans who have families and are nice and say funny things#they sway people they can justify their beliefs they can claim it's for the greater good#they don't have to say they're a nazi at all#and then when marginalized groups who aren't so blind call out the dogwhistle or that concerning opinion everyone jumps on them#and will say âbut they're so niceâ âthey're a lefistâ âhaving an opinion doesn't make you a naziâ ânazis don't act like thatâ etc#and the person in question slowly gains more influence and power because they act like a person#they hurt all the groups no one at the top cares about until oops turns out they're a nazi and nobody can believe it#do you think the nazi party held people at gunpoint in order to be supported in germany?\#no they made promises they inspired hope#they found a marginalized group to use as a scapegoat and justified it through propaganda and arguments that sounded smart and clever#none of that would have happened if they acted like a cartoon nazi#dehumanising and demonising these people merely gives them more power as they are pictured as an unstoppable alien force#you people who are on you morally superior american hero crusade will only hurt others who don't act good enough or you personally#nazis are human beings#i am not defending them#i am not one of them#i am stating an undeniable fact that can make many of them lose their power if enough people begin to understand it#before you cheer âpunch nazisâ think about how many times you'vr excused people drawing the swastika âfor funâ#or how many times you've advocated for censorship and purist logic because you believe you're protecting the kids#or stopping âbadâ people from spreading their âfantasiesâ or âbeliefsâ and ânormalising themâ

i have to wonder what super hardcore militant vegans think should be done about obligate carnivore animals, because in all my painfully-rapidly-approaching-30-years i've literally never actually seen anyone give a clear consistent much less halfway feasible answer on that
#mostly i've just seen like âhow dare you ask questions you just want an excuse to murder you're sealioning ectâ#or worse some vague and wildly improbable nonsense about like. fake robot animals covered in beyond meat or something equally convoluted#which is a thing i did see someone suggest as a serious answer#i mean i already know they think i'm a genetically inferior hateful vampire that should starve to death for the greater good#because my exact combination of health conditions make meat basically the only semi-safe way i can get close to enough nutrients#i know this because they have repeatedly told me that i'm either evil or should be sacrificed or both#and yelled at me for asking questions by bringing up the whole disabled thing and then they're like#âa lot of vegans i know are advocates for disability!â as if that ever means jack shit in the society that results from anything#no matter what you do a vast majority of people in any given society will *not* be advocates for the disabled. i'm sorry they just won't.#and what do you think public perception of people who physically can't survive like that is going to skew towards#in a society founded on the belief that non-vegan diets are evil?#at absolute best we're looking at being a heavily marginalized class generally seen as something like vampires and our existences taboo.#(as if these type's own insistence that they should be allowed to harass and shame people doesn't disprove their assertion that we won't be#thinking it could possibly go any better than that is a fucking fairy tale. human nature doesn't work that way.#you simply cannot eliminate the human desire to designate and abuse a class of have-nots. the absolute best you can do is mitigate damage.#take it from someone who's been multiple kinds of disabled and chronically ill all my life. people will not âjustâ. ever.#i get this even from people who are otherwise very aware of and VERY GOOD at avoiding this sort of thinking#âi'm a disability advocate!â no you are not. you are a poster. my experience has taught me that what people advocate for in their free time#means precisely jack shit for how they will actually act when faced with the situations they make otherwise rational posts about#and the fact of the matter is even if you somehow really are the perfect disability advocate a majority of people WILL NOT BE YOU.#a majority of people in society will be margrat from accounting who clutches her pearls when she sees the gays and thinks autism isnt real#and who has never had a nuanced thought in her life and actively does not want to#a vast majority of people in your Vegan Utopia will not be you and your friends who march with wheelchair users and volunteer at the shelte#a vast majority of people in your Vegan Utopia will be jenny who starved 8 cats to death on broccoli because she can't be bothered#and who thinks that âcarnivoresâ are actual nazis and don't deserve healthcare because she saw someone say that online.#ALWAYS assume your society will be made up mostly of the worst kind of person it can because it WILL ALWAYS BE TRUE and you can't change it#most people seek the low-effort option. and evil is most often banal and low-effort.#i'm just so fucking tired of every single even vaguely lefty-adjacent political movement simultaneously acting like i don't fucking exist#and at the same time that i need to be sacrificed to achieve Utopia. god. at least conservative whackjobs are upfront and honest about#how they think that i'm a burden on society that needs to be Eugenics'd . rather than trying to morally gaslight me about it.

any time I see someone speaking about one of the antagonists from the boys, other than stormfront, and for whatever reason they feel they need to make the statement, "well at least [homelander/soldier boy/firecracker/whoever] isn't a nazi", i die a little bit inside. did you watch season 2. did you UNDERSTAND season 2....
#to be clear i'm not necessarily arguing that we should/must be saying 'homelander is a nazi'#however: people all too often think of 'nazi' as this category that is somehow far removed and far worse from...#generally being racist and fascist and white supremacist etc.#as stormfront said: 'people love what i have to say! they just don't like the word nazi.'#the POINT is that whether or not a person or institution - real or fictional - is labeled as 'nazi' by you or by others#you should still be able to discern when... it's immoral and alarming?#that way too many people are willing to defend the exact sort of ideology of the nazi party when it's not labeled with those words?#but that meanwhile when they do hear that word they immediately condemn/distance from it without thinking critically about the WHY??#anyway i just saw a screenshot of a psot from antoher site that said#'the boys s5 can't out satire real life cuz at least homelander's not a nazi!'#and i am like. ugh#anyways i still have some errrrr.... feelings about htis#about how those other 3 villains tend to have a lot more woobifying fandom online than stormfront does#and gee i wonder why...#not that people are not alloed to be fans of villain characters ofc.#i just find it ironic that anytime stormfront comes up in fandom spaces majority of people are like 'ewwww but okay we don't like her'#but those other 3 villains... also bigoted & horrible in many of the exact same ways... ppl are like 'ok well obviously we don't share#the views of these characters they're villains it's ok'

"An awkward gesture" like yeah. And that group of guys who gathered around in Portland ME in full Nazi paraphernalia on April 1st that one year were just joking. Right.
#bro. sorry WELL I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD EVEN SAY SORRY?????? but i am gonna bitch for a second#like that shit was so jarring (second example i provided) bc not to dox myself but that's like. home.#vaguely not specifically speaking. but that is home.#i don't even remember what happened/what was done about it other than like. seeing an article or two about it#but literally this is just part of the nazi playbook. it's just a joke. or a mistake. or an accident. not that serious. ect ect ect#bonus points if like well they're a really nice person. yeah. i bet they are To You.#and hell less me being a bitch about it even if they put on a nice face towards the people they want dead#like bitch. i was raised christian. i know a thing or two or one hundred thousand about The Duality of it.#conscious or subconsciously. i know first hand what it looks like to be loved and abhorred at the same time.#and this is a loose comparison maybe. but what i'm SAYING here is That's How They Get You.#also fuck man the more i think about that 'stunt' (idk if i even wanna call it that but for lack of a better term)#like. the stupider it fucking is. like yeah a joke. a prank. okay. and you just had all that shit laying around because.......???????#idk it's so jarring. esp when it's close to home#but it's also so fucking jarring and terrifying to see it play out Like This. not some fuckasses in fucking maine#but someone with a disgusting amount of power. in front of the entire world. TO the entire world#god i'm getting flashbacks to that one guy who in front of a whole ass crowd (some preacher? politician?#idk sometimes the venn diagram is a circle. i don't fucking care to find out) said some shit about#eradicating transgender people from public life completely. to like a LOUD fucking applause#like it's sickening and exhausting and god i'm privileged. technically speaking. i'm white#and am taken care of by family so i don't have to work (when like. idk if i can. as time goes on i really feel like i can't.)#like. i'm acknowledging that all things considered i'm probably going to be safe. in all likelihood.#but it's disgusting and horrifying and like. maybe i'm safe. relatively. but so many people are not and will not be.#like idk it's just looking really fucking bleak. and that's coming from the shut-in.#i feel like i could say so much about that too. how i exclusively live through my art and art alone.#is it maladaptive daydreaming if the conditions are inherently hostile to life itself?#again i feel like i'm lucky that i'm able to opt out. but i also feel like. i feel like these shouldn't be my only options.#i don't know. i just wish we had more political assassinations. it wouldn't fix the system.#but it would fix the issue of one really stupid and genuinely evil guy. this goes for many of them

What's with all the "Them and Us" stuff I mean. I thought the whole point of this acceptance stuff is realising that despite all the little differences everyone is still kind of similar in the way that they should be granted at least the basic but of respect everyone deserves? Call me naĂŻve and childish but isn't the point of all this to Not have the clear distinction between people who are slightly different? Isn't the whole point to Not have a "Them" and an "Us"?
#been doing a lot of national socialism in history again and idk#something about the goebbels speeches man#i know i know insane comparison but there everything also started with establishing a ''Them'' against a ''We''#that was like half of the ideology you know?#and I don't like seeing stuff like that these days because it's so stupid and actually seems more harmful in the long run#if thid makes sense#now you feel good because you have your bubble of other...idk. socially acceptable level of mentally ill people for example#and you're in this community with people who understand you so obviously you don't want to leave#and thats fine#i just always think it's a bit stranhe when it starts sounding like... you know#there's a lot of memes juxtaposing a very specific symptom of a disorder or something with just ''non mentally ill people'' for example#and I get it its a silly little joke#but words do something and if it's this ''oh they'll never understand they're just not X enough'' it just#i really really can't explain it well but it just rubs me the wrong way#is this silly?#it feels a little silly#maybe I just have too much Nazi ideology in my head but it's this pattern of infighting and the growing comfort with being rude or outright#mean online and the splintering in more and more groups with little sub groups and nobody actually seems to take a step back and look at the#larger picture#because they're all content in their little groups of people who are exactly like them#I'm not even saying I'm exempt from this who knows maybe I am also like that#but I don't really like half the people i see every day and I always feel a little like i don't fit in because with most of them I don't#but I don't really think thats a bad thing because how boring would it be to be surrounded by people who think just like i do#nothing new can come of that after a while no?#I'm sleepy i don't know if I make any sense but I've just been marinating on it a tad...

it's embarrassing how long this took to sink in for me but i've finally realized the reason the vast majority of people people are so evil and insane about israel vs palestine is because they fundamentally see neither side as human
#that's why the Other Side is always full of faceless monsters and every single one deserves to die#and why deaths on Their Side are perfectly acceptable collateral#you don't see this in most other conflicts that get western media attention bc there's an acceptably White side and in i/p there is not#this is why there are nazis on both sides because nazis can either root for ethnic cleansing of jews or ethnic cleansing of muslims#win/win for them!#especially because no matter what side they root for there will be catastrophic death and they hate both sides!#and that's why i see so many people including jews and muslims casually wishing genocide on whichever side they don't like#because they simply do not care. it is not real to them#they have convinced themselves there are no humans in this conflict#they have convinced themselves there is an easy win situation for their Side#and there is not.#they have worst of all convinced themselves that whatever violence their Side commits is retaliatory and therefore acceptable#that the genuinely evil government leading their side consists of bold freedom fighters#that anything done in the name of that freedom is okay#and in doing so ironically they have lost their own humanity because they are so determined not to see others'#i give grace to any caught in the middle of this. i understand hatred and fear and wishing death to those hurting you#but to westerners? to the americans happily cheering on civilian deaths? nope. none for you#you say things you would never say about ukraine because you do not believe any humans are involved in this war#shutting off electricity and leaving everyone to die? fine. bombings? fine. rape and kidnapping? fine. they're not humans after all#expressing support for either hamas or the israeli government is unfathomable to me#and yet i'm seeing it en masse from those who supposedly want peace and leftism#obsessed with an abstract idea of Ye Glorious Revolution Needs Bloodshed (so civilian murder okay)#and in turn indistinguishable from the right wingers calling for gaza to be glassed. not to Both Sides but. Both Sides.#genocide is never an acceptable solution. i cannot believe that is a controversial statement#no civilian deaths are ever valid collateral. even if you personally do not quite see israelis or palestinians as human#you might think you do but ask yourself what you would do if it was you. on whichever side you see as evil. is it âokayâ now? acceptable?#collateral for justice? what is necessary to ensure your side wins? it would be okay if you and your loved ones died? that's okay?#what if it was happening in america? england? your hometown?#is it still okay?#if it isn't...why not? why is your life more important than that of an israeli or palestinian?

This is not directed at anyone specifically but I always find it interesting how if one of my gifsets features HL or SB people will make any kind of comment about liking the characters or just general comments about them with no issue, which is fine.
But then I will make one that features Stormfront, like the last one I posted, and people always feel the need to preface with "I absolutely hate this character but...", "This character is despicable and awful but..." when talking about her, even if they're gonna say something general about what's happening on the gifs or about the story.
And this doesn't happen only on my gifsets, obviously. I've seen it in lots of places but it happens a lot and I think it's funny how it only happens with her. It's like you have to justify yourself first in order to make a comment about something you find interesting about the character or even just a general comment or opinion about her . But that doesn't happen with the others...
I don't know, I've just noticed that you can like those two guys or WB or anyone else in the show who's done terrible things all you want and say so with no issue, but if you're going to even allude to finding SF interesting you have to put a disclaimer...
#and I've seen the more common reason they give for that is that hl and SB don't even come close to be as awful as sf#and i... dont agree#they all have done awful stuff and they're all big pieces of shit and they're all villains#but why can you love two of them as characters despite being awful but not the other one?#idk i just really find her character fascinating and wish we couldve seen her more#and that doesn't instantly make me a nazi supporter#like liking hl or sb as characters doesn't mean you support their disgusting actions#anyway I post mostly about Maeve and they don't even share scenes so is not like i will be giffing more scenes with her#but i feel like saying you like sf can be taken very negatively...#personal post#sorry for the rambling#maybe there is a bigger reason for it that i don't know

at a point in my fandom life where if someone says "it's not perfect but--" my instant response is yes it is
#same goes for characters#nothing and no one is perfect but you can love wholly because or despite flaws#you don't have to preface what/who you like saying it's/they're not perfect#we know lol#it's better if you just say specifically what you don't like about it/them and then how the good points outweigh those#otherwise it just sounds like you're trying to appeal to a demographic that hates/doesn't like it/them#rum.txt#(ie. bleach has terrible pacing and way too many characters. the page layouts are lazy for ''dramatic effect'' too often)#(the ending is one of the worst endings ever written lol. it has a suspicious amount of nazi imagery and allusions...?)#(it's also beautifully drawn and thrilling and the poetry is fantastic and it has some of my favorite characters of all time)#(i fucking hate it AND it's my favorite manga because of what it has meant to me for almost twenty years.)#(it's gotten me through some of the lowest lows of my life. it has ruined so many of my days. it has inspired me. i own So much merch.)#(see?)

uhhh i have to disagree, the worst in 2006 was absolutely Not accidentally seeing porn and im earnestly really happy for you, whoever that was, that that was how your kid internet years were
No, kids should not have unsupervised acess to the internet.  Yes, I got that and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.  Its a paradox.
#i think old internet and now have their pros and cons#there's a lot i prefer abt the past but. i definitely do not think it was ever a really Good Place.#i think the sorts of lasting damage you were likely to get were Different#yes the lack of 5 diff corporations owning literally everything back then was awesome!#but i think the internet is generally safer now from like extreme psychological blunt force trauma#it can still happen to you of course but not as easily as back then imo#tbh i'm even willing to go as far as to say i don't think nazi shit is all that big a deal irt indoctrinating kids#you think they're going to read walls of text of esoteric racist shit#again. it CAN happen and yes i think the internet is much more visibly politically charged now#but i think the internet is overall a less bad but also less fun place to roam as a kid now#i'm sorry i'm trying not to full blown argue on tumblr but i think that rb is really bad and irresponsible

The creepy music playing when magneto tells mystique to not change her appearance omg.....
#like that's not the right opinion???? hello???#i don't like what they've done with magneto.... you could say he and shaw want the same thing for different reasons#but i think thats not it.... magneto should want bad things for good reasons and i think theyre doing him backwards....#he is like oh mystique you should be who you are because ive lived through the holocaust and they're lowkey equating him to a nazi lmao#its like they dont do anything with that backstory but use it to justify why he goes to the extremes he does#and those extremes are framed in a bad light but imp are completely justified lmao#oh no shaw died!!! oooh look how bad erik is.... and charles was inside his head seeing all that he went through.... loke thats crazy#the never again and the they were just following orders is crazy... am i the friend thats too woke???#am i explaining myself well??? like using never again to justify killing 'innocent' men as a villain awakening moment....#i feel like you can't have a true villain having a very empathetic and. most importantly. very grounded and real (?) backstory#becauee it turns problematic i feel.... and this continues in the original trilogy... like magneto in the last stand??? what the hell???#OH MY GOOOOD!!! erik saying they both want the same thing and are brothers (CORRECT!!) and charles saying no..... he is a liberal.....#and i dont like the mystique and erik implications.... my fag and hag forever..... erik calling to her like shaw does to angel..... fuck no#like is mutant and proud a bad thing???? i dont get it#the government will relize how lucky they are of having them.... yeah sure the previous movies as example???#*women dont belong in the cia* *magneto explodes the building* hell yeah feminist king.... how many women does charles have on his team???#exactly#talking tag#watching x-men

favorite things from Breaking Bad VR But The AI Is Self-Aware, aside from the obvious stuff like the music, the ending, and walt being haunted by the specter of the breaking bad poster:
in general, the stark difference between the people who clearly know the scenes and the actual lines from the show and the people who either don't know or don't care, and the way wayne has to roll with it and constantly shift between both styles
as one of the youtube comments put it, the way walt's agency is downplayed by the railroading of the plot and the way his most heinous acts (letting jane die, poisoning brock, etc.) are largely skipped over make many moments where characters turn on walt and attack him feel comically unprovoked, which makes it feel like the version of the story walt would tell to make himself look better
mining the giant crystal for meth
the fact that they made "drives an el camino" at least 70% of skinny pete's personality
the sudden extreme yellow filter that appears when they cross over the clearly marked mexico border
the bit where they straight up just play the saul goodman commercial from the show on jesse's tv via youtube, but then someone switches it to the "you're not a real lawyer" scene from better call saul and they're all just so caught off guard that they kinda just start watching the scene. and then they just ignore what chuck is saying about his brother and let the quality of the cinematography alone convince them to hire saul
hank suddenly appearing in the car for a split second when walt, jesse, and saul are driving back from the desert, and to avoid completely derailing the plot wayne just looks down and clutches his head and says "cancer did that"
jesse saying he can do anything walt can do better and playing the breakcore breaking bad theme remix and wayne just goes "damn! damn!" and starts dancing
the fact that there's an extra salamanca cousin to make them triplets for no particular reason
the whole jane subplot isn't depicted so the plane crash above walt's house becomes a complete non sequitur
baaulp referencing the spice curls
they skip over the events of fly, but the map references it by having a giant fly in the superlab, which is labeled with an arrow so you can't miss it
jesse's drug-fueled house party having this playing on loop in the background
the homoerotic moment walt has with one of the salamanca triplets at the party in mexico, and also the one he has later with saul
to sidestep the whole neo-nazi thing in their lighthearted gmod stream they instead give uncle jack a gang of clowns and an evil circus (playing off of the vamanos pest fumigation tents, i assume), clearly labeled Uncle Jack's Evil Circus
since they skip the whole train heist they just have drew sharp show up at vamanos pest looking for some tiddlywinks
everything that happens with huell when walt is trying to explain to saul that hank figured everything out
and, of course, saul being chased off by the undead chuck mcgill
