a tiny butch. kinda outcast by the other borrowers, no one really gets her. her mother keeps asking when she’ll settle down with a nice young man, her friends nag her about boys, the elders of the group try to play matchmaker. it lessens a bit after she moves to her own place, but it never really goes away.

she moves into an apartment lived in by a young man, and this guy is not oblivious. he quickly figures out there’s a borrower, and he doesn’t confront her, just gives her space to do her thing alone. and despite how quiet tinies are, he does overhear her parents nagging when they come by, her friends teasing her for still being single. and one day the comments get a little too harsh, and the guy gets a bit fed up.

he strolls out into the living room at midnight, where the borrowers are immediately startled by him barging in. he just smiles. “baby, it’s getting a little late, you almost ready for bed?”

the butch blinks. “yeah… honey? let me walk my parents out.”

so the butch does, and immediately runs back to the man, asking him what the hell just happened. and the man explains no, he’s not interested or serious, he has a lovely long distance boyfriend in fact. but he knows the stress of your family trying to force the wrong love onto you, and he couldn’t help but step in.

from then on out, the two are in a fake relationship to the other borrowers. the butch’s family doesn’t talk to her about it, they are content with never meeting that guy cause he’s a giant. so the butch is left in peace to woo the fairy woman living in the herb garden outside. the guy is elated for her, cheers her on, and gives her the familial support she never actually had.

and he texts his boyfriend updates on the tiny girlfriends constantly. they ship it, hard.

He will tell you he is an exile, and some might've heard of his moniker, or legend-mark, throughout travels in the south: The Undying. Damned by the gods to never fall in battle; however, each time he dies, more of his memories are erased, and he's forgotten why he fights. Only that he must. He's also aided various Wardens in their fight against Darkspawn throughout the decades.

He's of few words, but does not spurn conversation. Those sensitive to the fade can sense that he's saturated by storm magic, and should any see him fall, there will be a moment they can glimpse at the multitudes within him. It's not a matter of possession, but something else that keeps his heart beating. A promise spoken in a language few remember from centuries ago.

He wishes to remember his past, and the murmur of his deities guide him to the Veil. He does not yet know whether he must tear it down or upkeep it, only that the answer lies within its method of creation.

Iara met him after killing him, lost to the werewolf rage after butchering an entire village that burned "witches" at the stake. Bond born out of immense guilt, she tries to make sure he doesn't get grievously injured.

I want a fic where Feyre met Mercenary Lady a year or two before canon. Maybe she taught her to hunt or mayhaps they met whilst both going after the same game IDK but they meet much earlier and develop a relationship. THEY DONT GET TOGETHER However they flirt a shit ton and there’s definite attraction and affection. They just assumed they had time.

But then Feyre kills Andras. She still sells his skin to Mercenary Lady who warns Feyre to keep an eye out for others. Then Tamlin retrieves her and Mercenary Lady follows shortly after them when she realizes Feyre is GONE and her whole family but Nesta isn’t suspicious about WHERE she went.

Idk I am just imagining Feyre hiding Mercenary Lady somewhere in the manor and having to deal with liking and even beginning to love all the fae she’s met while Mercenary Lady is trying to convince her to RUN. That SOMETHING there is OFF and the things Tamlin and Lucien say to her don’t sound completely true. Like they’re hiding things. A lot happens the same way except Feyre doesn’t fall in love with Tamlin romantically but she DOES come to value him greatly as a friend.

Rhys visits and acts like an asshole but instead of breaking down what she wants Tamlin to do to her he breaks down what she wants MERCENARY LADY to do to her. He then laughs at Tamlin for how spectacularly he failed.

Shortly after she tells Tamlin about Mercenary Lady’s presence to which he explains he knew from the beginning and planned to step in if Feyre had ACTUALLY tried to escape with her. He also admits he’d recently spoken to Mercenary Lady and asked her for a favor — which is to take Feyre home. And then shit plays out SIMILARLY she goes home and then HAS to go back to save Tamlin and Lucien because she LOVES them. Maybe she doesn’t understand why she was there to begin with but why not try?

Anyway yeah she dies but says she loves Tamlin (in a friend way) and lives because let’s assume there was no specification that it needed to be romantic lmao she gets brought back and then she stays with Mercenary Lady in the spring court. Tamcien marry each other cuz they CAN. And I am. Obsessed with the idea of Tamlin and Mercenary Lady befriending each other. Anyway yeah I need something like this in mah life yesterday.
