Agency Assignments: A comprehensive to-do list for saving Dead Boy Detectives!
I'm very easily overwhelmed, so I wanted to break down all the ways to help "Save Dead Boy Detectives" that I have seen floating around. This is meant to be something you can reference when you feel like there is so much you need and want to do to help, but don't know how or where to start.
Note: I will be updating this post as we go when necessary, so feel free to bookmark it in your browser for easy access, add it to your homepage, whatever! I'll always have a link to it in my Pinned Navigation post on my blog as well!
It is of the utmost importance that we fight as an organized, well-informed front. We need to be on the same page if we're going to save our show, so let's get into it! 💜💀🔎
➪ First and foremost, follow @savethedeadboys! They're going to be our best resource during this fight.
➪ Next, follow @deadboyagency for news and updates: they've been around since the show dropped and have been an invaluable source of information the entire time.
Now for some task breakdowns:
"One-Time" Tasks
➪ Like the header says, these things can only be done once. Once you do them, you don't have to give them any space in your mind.
Sign the petition*
Review & Rate Dead Boy Detectives on Google, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes. Be sure on IMDB you don't just rate the show as a whole, but you also rate each individual episode! You can also "Like" the show on Google and click "Watched" which helps the show's engagement scores. (If there are other popular sites I haven't listed here, feel free to share them and rate Dead Boy Detectives highly on them!)
Notify Netflix customer service (through their online chat feature) that you're unhappy with the cancelation of Dead Boy Detectives. This is a short, 5-minute task that I wrote a guide on (with an example message) here!
"Repeat" Tasks:
➪ These tasks can become a part of your daily routine; do what works best for you! You don't have to do every single one of these tasks every day if that is overwhelming!
Share the petition* over and over again, on every one of your socials! Make everyone you love sign it!
Stream Dead Boy Detectives!* Keep it on a loop in the background on low volume as much as possible. Try to get others to stream it as well, especially if they haven't watched it before! Netflix cares about VIEWS: views save shows and I broke down the reasoning here. (Bonus: if you post over on Twitter about your rewatch, use the tag #ReviveDeadBoyDetectives)
Talk about Dead Boy Detectives!* You're probably doing that already, but just be sure that you're tagging your posts. Here on Tumblr use the "Dead Boy Detectives" tag at least (to boost our tag to trending) and anywhere that uses hashtags (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram for example) I would recommend #SaveDeadBoyDetectives and #DeadBoyDetectives as those seem to be the most commonly used tags! IMPORTANT: do not use more than 20 tags here on Tumblr! Any more than 20 and your posts might be marked as spam and hidden from the tags!
Create art, edits for TikTok, fics, gif sets, doodles, crafts, analysis posts, and so on for Dead Boy Detectives.* Having fun is important, too! This is an extension of the "Talk about Dead Boy Detectives" point, but it needs to be stated - don't remove the joy from the fight. If a drawing of our boys or a smutty fic with your favorite trickster cat king is what you can bring to the fight on any given day, that is a perfectly valuable contribution! It's not all emails and hashtags.
Daily request a show through Netflix. Bonus if you're signed in! (I do 3-5 times a day)
Send Emails advocating for Dead Boy Detectives (Email list & Email Template). You can do this as much as you want or just one time.
Send Snail-mail (physical letters) to Netflix advocating for Dead Boy Detectives. I also send a copy of my letters to Warner Bros. Studios. Again, you can do this one time or multiple times. There are dates set aside for "mass" mail sending as well, so check out info on that here!
Interact with articles posted about Dead Boy Detectives. Read them, share them, comment on them, thank the writer for writing them, etc. We want lots of press about the cancellation, and supporting journalists and publications will make them want to write about Dead Boy Detectives more.
NOTE: Anything marked with a * means it's extremely important; if you can only do a few things, these tasks are the ones that you should focus on first. Remember to take care of yourself. This is a marathon, not a sprint, so don't burn yourself out!
WE WILL SAVE THIS SHOW.
Say that to yourself as many times as it takes for you to believe it. We're doing this to get justice for the writers, the actors, for ourselves, and assert to these companies that diverse, queer stories are not disposable one-offs; they deserve to be told in full!
Hugs and Handshakes to you all - whatever will suffice. 💜 Always feel free to reach out if you have any questions, whether that be through private message or my ask box. I'm not going anywhere!
- V

Okay it's about time I made a masterpost!!
Hello!! My name's Leo, I use He/Him pronouns, I like, run this account or something? And there's a good chance you're looking for info on it! Soooo-
First things first, some things you might know me by!
This account, obviously
My main, @leounderseas, where I post more cookie-unrelated stuff!
My instagram
My tiktok (currently inactive)
You don't know me from twitter because I don't use that!!! Twitter is banned in my country, so I do not have a twitter account.
Also some artworks you might recognize!!
Now that introductions are out of the way, here's some more info on me and this account specifically! This a daily doodle account for Royal Margarine Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom! I am very normal about him. That's pretty much all I post about here, though other cookie related things do pop in every once in awhile!
This account was meant to be daily, but I am still finishing up highschool, and it's been very stressfull, so sadly I don't have the time to actually make that work. The plan is still to post a doodle daily! But maybe I'll only be able to do that once I finish up with school, sadly.
I have two main hashtags in here!
#my art and my stuffff, for any art or similar things I end up making and posting! If you're expecting a daily doodle and haven't seen it, or just wanna browse, you might wanna check the hashtag :)
#questions and rambling and stuff, for askbox questions that I answered or just general rambling about characters or any other topic! If you're interested about my insight on things (or my analysis of a certain cookie, whom this account happens to be about....) it'll be there!
My askbox is open, and anonymous is an option! Feel comfortable to ask me questions, don't be shy! Just, yknow, be civilized? And not mean? Or any kind of -phobic or -ist or anything like that
Projects I currently have in the works are:
My marge shimeji! It is still in production sadly because I haven't had the time to work on it.... but I plan on finishing it and making it downloadable for anybody who wants it once it's done!!
Another related thing is my character playlists! I make those for fun in my freetime :) I have a lot of them, and some of them are longer than others because I am obviously biased (staareeess....) but I still enjoy all of them! Here are the links if anybody is interested!
Royal Margarine Cookie playlist (longest by VEEERY FAR. You need commitment to finish this one. Also lowkey suggestive. Tread carefully.)
Black Pearl Cookie playlist (Second favorite! Nowhere near as long but still very dear to me :])
Butter Roll Cookie playlist
Matcha Cookie playlist (Third favorite,,,,,, ouuugh blorbo....)
Pure Vanilla Cookie playlist (Has purelily undertones fyi, i like purelily)
White Lily Cookie playlist (Fourth favorite, SHE'S JUST LIKE ME FOR REAAAALLL,,,,,)
Golden Cheese Cookie playlist (Fifth favorite! Not really that long, but pleeeaasee recommend me songs for it)
Shadow Milk Cookie playlist
Black Lemonade Cookie playlist (very unfinished...)
Shining Glitter Cookie playlist (very unfinished....)
Snapdragon Cookie playlist (very unfinished, IM SO SORRY BABYYYY,,,,)
I also have non cookie playlists! Though they are few
Furina de Fontaine (Genshin Impact) playlist (Second longest playlist I have. I LOVE HER SO MUUUUCHHH YOU GUYS DONT GET ITTT)
Kieran (Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC) playlist (This kid is ill and I care him)
To finalize, I don't take comissions right now, but I do take requests in my askbox! Depending on the request ofc. I plan on taking comissions someday, but that'll probably have to wait until I finish highschool next year! And with all that said.... You're caught up!!! *confetti falls Have any questions? Lmk!! I'll answer them! Have a good day :]

FAQs about participating in Beauty and the Beast Week 2024
Beauty and the Beast Week 2024 is starting soon! Here are answers to some questions I’ve gotten or that you may be wondering about before participating in the event:
Can I join?
Yes! This is an open event with no sign-ups. You don’t need to notify me or get my permission. Everyone is welcome.
Do I have to do something for every one of the prompts?
No! Just one is fine. You can do more if you wish, or multiple works for the same prompt, but none of this is necessary. The list of prompts is here.
Do I have to write about the specific plants in the prompts?
No! They are meant to be metaphorical and spark inspiration. Go with the vibe that the plant suggests to you. Some suggestions are shown on the prompt list, but you can interpret each plant however you wish. And if you do wish to depict one of the literal plants in your work, that’s fine too!
What should I do if my work doesn’t fit with any of the prompts?
That’s what day 7, the free day, is for! Anything goes, that day (provided you still follow the rules, of course!).
Do I have to create my art/fic/whatever on the day itself?
No! That would be super hard to do—I’m not that mean! Create it now, and just hold off on posting it until the day of the prompt you used.
Does my fic/art need to take place in the Disney BatB universe, or are AUs allowed?
As long as you have at least one Disney Beauty and the Beast character, you can stick them in whatever universe you wish. Make Belle a mermaid in a pirate AU, make Gaston an astronaut in a space AU, give Cogsworth and Lumiere a meet-cute at a coffee shop, or just keep everyone in the canon-compliant universe of the film. Anything goes!
Can I include non-BatB characters in my creations?
Sure! As long as you have at least one Disney Beauty and the Beast character, you can include whatever other characters you wish. Characters from other media, OCs, reader inserts, they’re all fine. And remember that there is no bashing of others’ characters or ships! Accounts that do so will get blocked. Review the full list of rules here.
Can I make [fill in the blank]?
Yep. Any type of fanwork you can dream up is welcome, not just fic and art. Crochet a Beast hat and post a pic of it, make a photo montage of yourself doing cosplay, make a music video, we love it all!
Is NSFW allowed?
Yes, with any sort of content and kink you like, but since there may be minors following this account, please tag it appropriately. If posting mature content directly on Tumblr rather than AO3, also use its community labels function and/or hide the content under a “keep reading” link. And minors—do not engage with content that is not meant for you.
Is AI allowed?
Absolutely not. This account will not reblog, include in master lists, or include in the AO3 collection anything that was made with AI involved to any degree. Even if you just use AI to make a banner to go along with your fic that you manually wrote, we will not reblog it. Review the full list of rules here.
How do I post my work so it gets included?
The most important thing to be sure to do is to tag the @beauty-beast-week account in your Tumblr post so we can see it and reblog it from this account. Also, please use the hashtag #batbweek and/or #batbweek 2024. Full posting instructions are here.
Should I post my fic on AO3 or Tumblr?
Whatever you prefer. If you post it on AO3 and also make a Tumblr post to link to it, we will reblog the Tumblr post. If you only post to the AO3 collection, we will have nothing to reblog, but we will still link to your work in the master lists.
I don’t post my art on Tumblr; can I still participate?
Yes, but you’ll need to send us a DM via Tumblr with a link to your work on Instagram, Twitter, DeviantArt, etc. We will then include it in the master lists.
I’m not going to get my work done on time; can I still participate?
Please do! We’re happy to accept late entries! We understand that life happens, so just tag us when you’ve posted it and we’ll reblog it, though it may not make it into the master list post at the end of the event.
How can I connect with the other people participating in this event?
Building personal connections between those in our fandom community is the main reason @firawren created this event, so while there’s no Discord server specifically for this event, there is the “Frozen Hearts Worth Melting” Discord server. It’s a super chill server for Beauty and the Beast and Frozen fanfic writers and artists; DM @loonysama if you want to join this server. Also, feel free to DM @firawren if you’d like to connect one on one; I’m always hungry for more BatB friends!
Did I miss any questions that you still have? If so, please reply to this post, send me an ask, or send me a DM.

The war in the Middle East is a laboratory for new means of spreading fake news. Propagandists across the world are watching and learning. This year will see democracy’s biggest test: more than two billion people across 50 countries are expected to go to the polls. And a fair proportion of them will be on the receiving end of disinformation techniques refined in Gaza.
The extent of the lying is breathtaking. The BBC’s Verify unit says it has seen nothing to compare to the ‘volume of dehumanising rhetoric posted during this war’. Eliot Higgins, founder of the investigative website Bellingcat says the level of disinformation in the Israeli-Gaza war is ‘unique to this conflict’. The Israel and US based security company Cyabra, which monitors fake news on social media, adds that about 20 percent of accounts participating in the online conversation about the war in the days after 7 October were fake. On social media, X (the bin fire formerly known as Twitter) and TikTok were the favourite sites for disinformation, as you would expect.
The explosion of lying reflects a grim truth: for state and private actors, it has never been cheaper or easier to establish credible sock puppets, and then order bot armies to spread falsehoods. I could look at horrible claims that a Palestinian mother was just pretending to cradle her dead baby (see picture above), or that Israelis giving accounts of their sufferings at the hands of Hamas were just actors.
However, to show the extent of the new world of lies I want to return to the story I covered last week: the fake news that an advertising campaign by Zara was somehow mocking or exploiting the war-ravaged people of Gaza. Like the QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theories, the story matters more than the usual online rubbish because it was a lie with measurable consequences.
Across the world, pro-Palestinian protestors targeted Zara stores. In the US, Canada, Spain, and Sweden, they vandalised them. A video on social media showed that disgusted customers had thrown piles of clothes in front of the Zara store in Times Square, New York. Or at least so the accompanying propaganda claimed. The video turned out to be footage of an old protest against another brand.
As I said at the time, the demonstrations showed the madness of crowds in action. They decided to hate a clothing chain that had done nothing to justify their rage. Zara’s agency shot the ad campaign long before Hamas attacked Israel. No one in the photo shoot resembled a soldier or a casualty of war. The pictures showed a model in a sculptor’s studio posing with a mannequin, which was clearly not meant to refer to the corpses of slain Palestinians
And yet even after Zara apologised for an imaginary offence and withdrew the ads, demonstrators continued to target the company. Only a few days ago, they closed the Zara store at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
But I only told half the story. The truth was that much of the rage was confected.
Cyabra uses machine learning scanners to study social media sites and identify fake accounts. They process scores of clues: whether the account is posting 24/7, whether it is posting in multiple languages. The company scanned X, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and noticed that Zara was initially criticized for being oblivious to the war and its victims. But the conversations quickly adopted a conspiratorial tone, and you could guess that someone was raising the stakes by looking at the trending hashtags
What began with the hashtag ‘#BoycottZara’ turned to the false ‘#Zara_is_a_zionist_brand,’ and the frankly mad ‘#ZaraSupportsGenocide.’
Faced with what it thought was genuine anger, Zara pulled the campaign. The BBC, the Guardian, Business Insider and scores of other news sites reported the climbdown and treated the allegations that Zara was exploiting Palestinian suffering seriously.
When they did, they missed the role of well-resourced and malicious actors. Cyabra said that 39% of the profiles that interacted with Zara were, in fact, fake. The bots were also far more active than real protestors, it found.
Bots ‘were prominently pushing the hashtags “#Zara_is_a_Zionist_brand” and “#ZaraSupportsGenocide,” the security firm said. ‘They were actively engaged in conversations about the Israel-Hamas war, making sure to regularly tag Zara and interact with the brand while advocating a boycott.’ They were giving protests against Israel more weight, by turning then into demonstrations against the evils of global capitalism.
Journalists covering the story had no way of knowing this. They and Zara did not have the tech to analyse tens of thousands of social media accounts, and nor did their readers and viewers. Suppose they did. Suppose the media reported that, while there were undoubtedly real people who disapproved of Zara’ photoshoot, almost four out of ten of the accounts attacking the firm were fake, and looked as if they were part of a coordinated influence operations campaign possibly run by Iran or Russia.
Exposure would make all the difference, as would the exposure of any other campaign boosted by malicious actors. If readers suspect a trick, they will be on guard.
It is about to get significantly harder for readers and journalists to realise that they are being tricked. For Gaza is also showing that the quality of the lying is increasing as fast as the quantity of lies.
We are in the very early days of an artificial intelligence (AI) revolution which presages an anarchic future for open democracies. Put simply, the fake news AI creates is more believable. AI can tailor the messages from social media accounts so they appeal to a precise target audience. Until now, targeting has been a difficulty from propagandists. If they wanted to spread conspiracy theories to, say white working-class men, they needed a different tone and vocabulary than if they were targeting wealthy retirees. A Russian propagandist may well not know how to do that.
Campaigns to persuade US Republicans to abandon Ukraine need to be in authentic American English not British or international English. ChatGPT can now translate propaganda into the required dialect in seconds and ensure that it doesn’t sound as if the message was composed in a Petersburg basement.
What applies to words, applies to images. In the past, bad actors creating automated profiles at bot farms had to use generic stock images for profile pictures, or steal a real person’s photo and risk being caught. Today AI image generators give them what they need.
Rafi Mendelsohn, marketing vice president Cyabra, described an exponential process to me. Tactics used to twist elections are applied to war zones, refined, expanded, and then sent back to be used to influence the next political campaign.
What should we do? Can we ban TikTok, because the Chinese Communist Party exploits it? Should Western governments build their own troll farms? Should the security services monitor social media and issue fake news warnings? It’s not that western democracies do not know how to answer these questions, we barely know how to ask them.
When the security services are warning that by 2025 generative AI could be ‘used to assemble knowledge on physical attacks by non-state violent actors, including for chemical, biological and radiological weapons,’ we are in a new world. It strikes me as a world that Western democracies with their liberal protections for freedom of speech find strange and baffling, but one in which the West’s dictatorial enemies feel entirely at home.

Actress Danica McKellar expressed her gratitude this Thanksgiving and she spoke about her new original Great American Family film, which will premiere on Saturday, November 25.
Working with Damon Runyan
She co-stars in “A Royal Date for Christmas” along with Damon Runyan. “Damon is fantastic,” she exclaimed. “I previously worked with him in the film ‘Very, Very, Valentine’ back in 2018, where he played the ‘other guy.’ We had this breakup scene and he got emotional, and it was a beautiful performance.”
Synopsis of the film
In this movie, Bella Sparks (Danica McKellar), owner of Bella Sparks Couture, takes on a demanding new client “Stefan” (Damon Runyan) to outfit for a week of high stakes meetings and events after his luggage goes missing.
Stefan asks Bella to be his “official plus one” for many of the formal soirees, a request Bella accepts with good humor. Imagine Bella’s reaction when she accidentally discovers “Stefan” is Stefan William Francis Brown, the Duke of Tangford.
“This duke went through a public, messy breakup, and he asks Bella to be his platonic ‘plus one’ for his event so that he can avoid questions about the breakup,” she said.
“I find myself with this unusual job to both dress him and accompany him to these events, and of course, I get attached pretty easily to him. We both have hearts that need healing,” she added.
youtube
Playing Bella in the movie
On playing the role of Bella, McKellar said, “I relate to her in some ways because she has given up on love, and here comes along this perfect fairytale prince and she can’t believe it. She doesn’t believe it at first. I am on my second marriage, and I found my fairytale love the second time around. We’ve been married nine years now, and we celebrated our 10th anniversary of our first date and I am so grateful.”
“My character, Bella, gets to go on the same journey of thinking that fairytales can’t come actually true, and then she realizes that they can,” she added.
“I am so thrilled about this movie. I think it was totally meant to be. I think audiences are going to swoon,” she said with a sweet laugh.
Thanksgiving of 2023
McKellar expressed that she is thankful for so many things this Thanksgiving holiday. “I am thankful for my family, and for the opportunity to tell these beautiful stories, in order to brighten people’s days,” she said.
“Hopefully, that will help provide an escape, especially in this crazy world we live in these days but also to model aspirational behavior. These films really provide that, and if we all acted more like these characters, we would have a better world to live in,” she elaborated.
“I like it when movies like these put positive things into the world, so I am grateful to be a part of that,” she added.
Cameron Mathison
McKellar had great words about actor Cameron Mathison, who recently inked a multi-picture deal with Great American Family. “That was fantastic,” she admitted. “Cameron is a great guy! We’ve been friends for a while now. I hope I get to work with him on a Great American Family movie.”
2023 Christmas Con
McKellar is also looking forward to Christmas Con, which will take place on December 8, 9, and 10, 2023, at the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison, New Jersey. “That will be a blast, especially to meet all the fans. It will be a lot of fun,” she said.
Closing thoughts about her new Great American Family movie
“I will be live-tweeting during the premiere,” McKellar told her fans. “If they use the hashtag #aroyaldateforchristmas and if they tag me handle, I can see it for sure.”
“I am so grateful for my fans, especially for tuning in and for interacting with me on social media,” she concluded.

Seconding that!!
To be clear — the Animation Guild is NOT asking for donations or any monetary support from the fans! All they need is for you to post, on any social media you like, about animation using the hashtag #StandWithAnimation (so the Guild can see it!)
Public support, emails, Twitter Instagram and Tiktok trends — all of these things are proof that Animation is NOT a niche interest with a limited audience, and help combat the idea that animation and production crews don’t deserve a living wage.
Being able to show the AMPTP your love and support is so much more helpful that you might realize, so please spread the word, and feel free to make your own posts talking about your love for animation you enjoy, animation you’re upset has been cancelled, animation that’s meant something to you, anything you want to share with The Animation Guild on ANY social media you’re on with the hashtag #StandWithAnimation !
My fandoms and my fandom neighbors!
TODAY, August 12, 2024, The Animation Guild begins negotiations with the AMPTP to win a new contract for animation. This is a huge fight with severe stakes for the future of the Animation Industry in the US, and the guild needs your support!
TAG is fighting, Right Now, to stop exploitative practices that are weaponized against animation professionals across the globe, and working hard to ensure this industry has a future here in the states.
If you are a fan of animation, whether it's major or independent studios, eastern or western, tv or movies, we need you to get LOUD in support of The Animation Guild. The crews who work so hard to bring these works to life are struggling to pay their bills, if they can find work at all, while studio CEOs are getting multi-million dollar raises to cancel projects and gut streaming libraries.
We can win this fight, but we need public outcry and support. If you work in animation, if you've ever dreamed of working in animation, or if you just love animation, please stand with TAG and support the union effort to keep animation a viable career and a valuable medium!

How social media has helped families, social workers, and the government in discerning information during calamities
Jan Emil C. Acala CBF 12-2
In the face of calamities be they natural disasters, health crises, or social upheavals the way information is disseminated and accessed has undergone a profound transformation. Traditionally, families relied on mainstream media television, radio, and print for updates. However, the rise of social media has shifted this dynamic, creating a more interactive and immediate landscape for information sharing. Let’s explore how social media has empowered families, social workers, and governments during crises, and how it stands apart from the past.
The Role of Social Media in Calamities
Real-Time Updates for Families Immediate Communication: Social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp allow families to receive real-time updates during emergencies. This immediacy helps individuals make informed decisions, whether it’s evacuating an area or finding shelter.
Community Connection: Families can connect with neighbors and friends to share information and resources. This sense of community can be crucial during crises, providing emotional support and practical help.
Crowdsourced Information: During disasters, individuals often share firsthand accounts and updates, which can sometimes be more timely than traditional media reports. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram enable users to post live updates about conditions in their local areas.
Enhanced Coordination for Social Workers Rapid Resource Allocation: Social workers can utilize social media to assess needs quickly and coordinate resources more effectively. By monitoring discussions and community needs expressed online, they can deploy aid where it’s most needed.
Connecting with Vulnerable Populations: Social media provides a platform for social workers to reach marginalized groups who may not have access to traditional media. This ensures that vital information reaches everyone, including those who might otherwise be overlooked.
Information Dissemination: Social workers can share critical updates, resources, and safety information through social media channels, allowing them to reach broader audiences more efficiently than before.
Government Response and Communication Direct Communication with Citizens: Governments now use social media to communicate directly with the public. This allows for rapid dissemination of information about evacuation orders, safety protocols, and available services during emergencies.
Data Collection and Analysis: Social media provides valuable data for governments. By analyzing posts and hashtags related to a disaster, officials can gauge public sentiment, identify areas of need, and monitor the effectiveness of their response efforts.
Crisis Management Platforms: Many governments have developed dedicated social media accounts and apps for disaster management, offering a centralized source for accurate information. This contrasts with the fragmented nature of information dissemination in the past.
Traditional Media
In the past, families relied heavily on traditional media TV, radio, and print to receive information about calamities. This model was largely one-sided, media outlets reported the news, but individuals had little to no way to interact or respond.
Delayed Reporting: News cycles often meant that information was delayed. By the time updates were broadcast, situations could have changed significantly.
Limited Perspectives: Traditional media typically presented information from a few authoritative voices, which could lead to a lack of diverse perspectives and important local insights.
Censorship and Bias: In some cases, information was subject to censorship or bias, leading to a lack of transparency during crises.
Social Media
Social media has fundamentally changed this dynamic.
Immediate, Diverse Voices: With social media, anyone can share their experiences, leading to a richer tapestry of information that reflects various viewpoints and situations.
User Empowerment: People are not just passive recipients of information; they actively contribute, share, and engage, fostering a sense of community and collective resilience.
Real-Time Updates: The nature of social media allows for rapid updates, making it possible to respond more effectively to changing situations.
The role of social media during calamities has transformed the landscape of information sharing for families, social workers, and governments. By facilitating real-time communication, enhancing resource coordination, and allowing for direct engagement with citizens, social media has become an invaluable tool in crisis management. As we navigate future emergencies, embracing this shift towards a more interactive and inclusive model of information sharing will be crucial for building resilient communities.

Immediate Communication: Social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp allow families to receive real-time updates during emergencies.
2. Enhanced Coordination for Social Workers
Rapid Resource Allocation: Social workers can utilize social media to assess needs quickly and coordinate resources more effectively.
3. Government Response and Communication
Direct Communication with Citizens: Governments now use social media to communicate directly with the public.
The evolution from traditional media to social platforms marks a significant step forward, empowering individuals and organizations alike in the face of adversity.

Sure, although I will say whether he's *straight up 'racefaking' or not isn't entirely conclusive. This is old "drama" in online NDN spaces so I'm speaking to the best of my memory, it hasn't been covered by any reputable news sources or anything like that so I didn't want to say anything too definitive. A few results will come up from Natives who've spoken out against him on instagram, twitter and facebook if you search "shane ortega fraud" and "shane ortega pretendian". A newspaper clipping about him being banned from the Shoshone-Bannock rez also comes up. This facebook post has most of the evidence.
I have some more context and my own conjecture to add but I'll put it under a readmore to not clog the dash as much 🙏🏽
As a Black Native and a genealogical/historical researcher myself, I feel I have to mention that records of Natives and especially Black Natives in the southeast are often incorrect. It's not unheard of for a mixed Native who "looked Black" or even ambiguous to be marked as "colored" or really anything else, so the records and pictures in that post alone don't necessarily disprove his claims. Instead I'd highlight the forementioned grifting and treatment of various tribes/individual Natives, his enrolment and disenrolment in several different and unaffiliated **unrecognized tribes, claiming tribes that have disavowed him personally, and past use of the hashtag "#hebrewisraelites" as better evidence. For anyone unaware, "hebrew israelites" is one of many names used by a group who believe African-Americans are "the real Native Americans" and/or "the real Jews" and appropriate from those cultures, usually while bashing Native American and Jewish people.
* a pretendian doesn't always mean the same thing as racefaking in the traditional sense, it's not always someone who's completely fabricated claims to being Native American; most often it means someone who claims to represent a tribe or community that they don't belong to and have no actual, personal connection to, and take opportunities and resources meant for people from those communities. Sometimes these people have Native ancestry that may be distant or disconnected, sometimes they don't. This is evidently something Ortega has done to several small southeastern tribes as well as the Cherokee, a band of Mohawk, and the Shoshone-Bannock
** Not all unrecognized tribes are fraudulent, but many are, and hopping between several with evidently loose rules for enrolment is definitely a red flag. At least one of the "tribes" he was enrolled in was fraudulent.

Unveiling Top Digital Strategies for Effective Film Marketing in Today’s Landscape
Film marketing has changed in the cutthroat realm of entertainment to take advantage of digital platforms' whole capacity. Film marketing firms are using creative approaches to appeal to worldwide viewers as streaming services, social media, and Google's hegemony of online search engines take front stage. Focusing on the part film marketing businesses play in this always changing scene, this article will investigate the most recent digital marketing trends and strategies for the film sector.
Why Is Online Film Marketing Thriving in the Move to Digital?
Though digital marketing now rules the scene, traditional cinema marketing techniques—trailers, posters, and TV spots—still play a vital part in raising awareness. Engaging moviegoers now depends critically on social media sites such as Instagram, TikHub, and YouTube. To generate buzz, cultivate fan communities, and drive ticket sales or streaming subscriptions, film marketing companies are turning more and more toward these channels.
The capacity to instantly reach a worldwide audience is priceless for film marketing firms. Digital channels let businesses involve audiences from New York to Tokyo, all from one campaign, instead of depending just on region-specific advertising. One of the main reasons digital marketing has evolved into such a necessary component of film promotion is its scalability.
Content marketing—telling the story beyond the screen—is absolutely essential for every effective digital plan, and film marketing is no exception. Behind-the-scenes video, actor and director interviews, exclusive clips, and sneak peeks created by film marketing firms are subsequently distributed on many internet platforms. Long before the movie opens, this material creates enthusiasm and emotional involvement.
To create buzz, studios might, for instance, post a preview or little on social media months before the movie opens. This helps film marketing firms make sure their viewers remain interested over long stretches, therefore raising the possibility of a successful release.
Crucially also are editorial items and blog entries. To offer special materials, interviews, and exclusive content, film marketing firms can work with entertainment blogs and news sources. These partnerships enable the movie's visibility and reach to be expanded among several online audiences.
Social Media Events: Creating Viral Moments and Communities
One cannot stress the influence of social media on movie marketing. Almost every big movie release nowadays comes with a carefully thought out social media plan meant to create viral events. To interact with fans and spark conversations, film marketing firms employ Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even newly developing sites like Threads.
Often a main component of these movements, hashtags let supporters follow and add to the debate. Other strategies filmmakers use to include audiences are viral challenges, meme-worthy events, and interactive polls. Companies can foster ownership and investment by aggressively including viewers in campaigns, hence increasing ticket sales or viewing on streaming services.
For instance, movies such as *Avengers: Endgame* turned it into a viral campaign by urging viewers to refrain from distributing spoilers using #Don't Spoil The Endgame. Likewise, horror movies often captivate viewers with interactive campaigns challenging them to solve puzzles or join online hunts, therefore generating an immersive experience.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Expanding New Film Visibility
Visibility is everything in the digital sphere, hence Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is one of the best approaches to get this. To guarantee their movie trailers, reviews, and news show at the top of search engine results pages, film marketing organizations combine sponsored search (PPC) and organic search (SEO) strategies.
For instance, film marketing firms can increase more natural traffic to their websites, YouTube channels, or social media pages by optimizing content for particular keywords such "latest action films" or "upcoming movie trailers." This guarantees that those seeking entertainment value discover their films before they come upon others.
Another very effective method in SEM is paid ads. Film marketing firms can run customized adverts that show up when consumers search for related movies or genres using sites like Google adverts. This guarantees that the promoted movie is the first choice of viewers when they are ready to select a movie, thereby helping movies remain top of mind during release seasons.
Influencer marketing: drawing on important promotion voices
Across several sectors, including film promotion, influencer marketing has shown to be rather successful. These days, film marketing firms work with bloggers, influencers, and YouTubers with significant followings and film reviewing or discussion expertise. By expressing their thoughts, comments, or movie recommendations for future projects, these bloggers can generate buzz and thereby raise awareness.
Particularly if the influencer's following fits the movie's intended audience, working with movie critics or well-known social media celebrities can offer a film legitimacy. Independent films or smaller-known productions without the marketing funds of blockbuster movies will find especially great success with this approach. Since influencers naturally have earned trust with their followers, their suggestions have more power than conventional commercials.
Data analytics' power: real-time campaign optimization
The real-time tracking and measurement of campaign performance made possible by digital marketing is among its most important benefits. On social media participation, website visits, ad click-through rates, and much more, film marketing firms can compile statistics. This information lets businesses constantly adapt their campaigns to maximize performance and reach, therefore changing their methods.
For example, film marketing firms can adjust their budget or emphasis to the more successful platform if a trailer is working well on one but not on another. In a field where audience tastes could shift quickly, this degree of mobility is absolutely vital.
By means of demographic, geographic, and behavior segmentation of consumers, analytics solutions also enable marketers to guarantee that their material reaches the most pertinent viewers. Another reason digital techniques have grown so vital for film marketing firms is this degree of precision targeting.
Email marketing: a straight line towards fans
Email marketing is still a very powerful instrument for film promotion even with social media and other digital platforms rising. Email newsletters let film marketing firms distribute special discounts, early ticket sales, and exclusive material to their target demographic. Customizing these emails depending on user behavior, interests, and past interactions helps them to be a great instrument for increasing involvement and revenue.
Emails including trailers, cast announcements, or behind-the-scenes material might be directed toward fans who have indicated interest in a particular genre or movie series. This degree of customization facilitates a closer relationship between the movie and its viewers.
Digital space event marketing: virtual premieres and livestreams
The COVID-19 epidemic hastened the trend toward virtual events; even as theaters have reopened, virtual premieres, livestream Q&A sessions, and online watch parties remain popular. These forms have been embraced by film marketing firms as means of generating buzz and interacting with a worldwide audience.
Virtual events let filmmakers interact with fans who might not be able to make it to a real premiere. Actor and director live streamed Q&As offer a degree of access not previously possible for only in-person gatherings. Sharing these digital events on social media channels helps to expand their influence and hence strengthen the campaign's impact.
The Part Film Marketing Companies Play in Future Digital Film Promotion
Film marketing businesses are leading the way in implementing fresh ideas to properly advertise films as digital marketing develops. From using data analytics to perfect social media interaction to harnessing technology, these businesses are positioned to enable movies to flourish in a market growingly competitive.
Film marketing firms are quite important in enabling independent films to find their audience. Even low-budget movies can acquire notable exposure and success with the correct mix of SEO, social media strategy, and influencer relationships.
Conclusion: negotiating the future of film marketing
Film marketing's terrain has changed drastically recently as digital techniques take front stage. The secret to success for cinema marketing firms is their capacity to keep a strong knowledge of their audience while adjusting to new technology, trends, and platforms.
Film marketing firms can guarantee their clients' films stand out in a crowded market by concentrating on content marketing, social media involvement, search engine optimization, and data-driven methods. These businesses will always be very important in determining the direction of movie promotion as fresh trends develop.
Film marketing firms will remain vital allies in the always shifting digital landscape in enabling filmmakers to reach new audiences and attain long-term success.

What is meant by SMO?
Social Media Optimization (SMO) refers to the strategies and techniques used to increase awareness of a product, brand, or event through social media platforms. It's about creating content that is tailored for each platform while encouraging user engagement.
The goal of SMO is to drive traffic from social media channels to your website. This can involve optimizing profiles, sharing engaging posts, and using hashtags effectively.
Additionally, it focuses on building relationships with users by fostering interactions and encouraging shares or likes. By enhancing visibility on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, brands can reach wider audiences organically.
Moreover, effective SMO helps in improving search engine rankings indirectly; when more people share your content online, it signals credibility and relevance to search engines. Through thoughtful planning and execution of SMO tactics, businesses can create a powerful online presence that resonates with their target audience.
What is an example of SMO in digital marketing?
An example of Social Media Optimization (SMO) in digital marketing can be seen through the strategic use of engaging content on platforms like Instagram or Facebook.
Imagine a brand launching a new product. They create visually appealing posts, stories, and videos that highlight the product's features while encouraging user interaction. By incorporating hashtags relevant to their audience, they increase visibility.
Additionally, running contests or giveaways is another effective SMO tactic. Such initiatives encourage users to share their experiences with the brand, amplifying reach organically.
Brands also leverage analytics provided by social media platforms to understand what type of content resonates best with their followers. This data-driven approach ensures continuous improvement and higher engagement rates over time.
Engaging directly with followers through comments and messages further fosters community and builds loyalty for the brand’s offerings.
What is the difference between SEO and SMO?
SEO and SMO are crucial components of digital marketing but serve different purposes. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, focuses on improving a website's visibility on search engines like Google. It involves keyword research, link building, and content optimization to rank higher in organic search results.
On the other hand, SMO stands for Social Media Optimization. It aims to enhance a brand's presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The goal is to increase engagement through shares, likes, and comments.
While SEO primarily drives traffic via search engines, SMO leverages social channels for audience interaction. Both strategies complement each other; effective use of both can lead to increased online visibility and user engagement across various platforms. Understanding their differences helps businesses tailor their approaches for maximum impact in the digital landscape.
What is the salary SMO in Digital Marketing?
The salary for Social Media Optimization (SMO) professionals in digital marketing can vary widely based on experience, location, and the specific demands of a job role. Entry-level positions typically start around ₹3 to ₹5 lakh per annum.

Why social media marketing is important
Do you recall when “marketing” meant newspaper and TV advertisements? But times have changed, and social media’s ascent has caused a tectonic plate-like upheaval in the marketing landscape. A strong social media presence is becoming more than simply a “nice to have”; they are a must for companies of all sizes. However, why is social media marketing so crucial specifically? Let’s examine the top five reasons this potent platform is too important for you to ignore:
1. Your audience resides there:
Imagine a world where billions of people are interacting with brands, engaging with content, and browsing through their feeds. That is the dynamic social media landscape. The days of waiting for clients to come in the door are long gone. You may establish a direct channel of communication with your target audience using social media sites, reaching them where they spend their time. It’s your responsibility to be present on the social media platform that your target client uses, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or even TikTok.
2. It Increases Brand Recognition and Awareness:
Let’s be honest, no one can recall a brand they have never heard of. Through social media marketing, you may stand out from the crowd and draw attention to your business. By providing interesting material regularly, you keep your audience at the forefront of your mind and build brand recognition. Consider it a polite reminder that your company still exists, is relevant, and can provide value.
3. It Increases Interaction and Fosters Relationships:
Social media isn’t limited to one-way dialogue. The road is two-way. You establish sincere connections with your audience by delivering engaging information, answering questions, and taking part in discussions. This strengthens the community around your brand and promotes trust and loyalty. Recall that consumers prefer to interact with human brands, not just those that sell stuff. Be genuine, display your humanity, and watch as your audience becomes engrossed!
4. It Increases Traffic and Sales:
Popularity isn’t the only thing social media offers. It’s an effective instrument for sales. Share interesting content that directs readers to your website or landing page to increase traffic and lead generation. Envision an exquisitely designed Instagram post exhibiting your recently launched product. A possible sale is created when interested visitors click the link in your bio and visit your website. Social media offers an easy approach to converting followers into paying consumers.
5. It Offers Priceless Feedback and Insights:
Social media sites are data mines. Through the examination of your audience’s demographics, engagement metrics, and highly shared material, you can acquire important knowledge about their tastes and actions. This information is invaluable for helping you make decisions about your whole firm, including product development and marketing. Consider it as having a direct channel into the minds of your clients, enabling you to precisely customize your offers to meet their demands.
These are the top five reasons why social media marketing is so important for businesses in the modern digital era. Trendy hashtags and viral dances aren’t the only things that matter (though those are fun too!). It all comes down to establishing a connection with your audience, fostering deep connections, and eventually accelerating success. Keep in mind that silence is deafening in the digital world. Become heard, participate in the dialogue, and enjoy the benefits of having a successful social media presence.

Hey there, screen junkies and digital voyeurs! Today, we're diving into the mesmerizing world of "Black Mirror," where technology and human nature collide like a clumsy Tinder date. Buckle up for a sarcastic, unfiltered journey through the eerie parallels between the dark tales of "Black Mirror," the shadows of early America, and the bizarre Twilight Zone of our modern culture. Because who needs a comfort zone when you have a Black Mirror?
Early America, where communication meant quills, ink, and the occasional carrier pigeon. Fast forward to today's "Nosedive" episode, where social ratings reign supreme. Forget about gossiping over the white picket fence; we're giving each other side-eye based on how many likes our latest Instagram post gets. Ah, the sweet smell of social validation in any century.
In the episode "San Junipero," Black Mirror takes us on a soul-searching quest for immortality through simulated realities. If our ancestors had Black Mirror, they might have opted for the eternal colonial spa experience, complete with quill massages and horse-drawn carriage VR tours. After all, who needs to face the grim reality of early America when you can escape to San Colonial-ero?
"White Bear" introduces us to a world of public shaming on steroids. But hey, early America did it first with the Scarlet Letter. Puritans would probably watch "White Bear" and say, "Back in our day, we just made them wear an 'A' for adultery, not run a surreal obstacle course."
In "The National Anthem," we witness a scandalous scenario involving a beloved public figure and a pig. Early America would've been like, "Hold my quill; we wrote the book on scandalous scenarios. Just ask Alexander Hamilton." Modern culture may be shocked, but our forefathers were busy dueling over affairs.
"Bees" and hashtags unite in "Hated in the Nation" to wreak havoc. Early America may not have had robo-bees, but they had the town gossip buzzing about everyone's business. Imagine if our forefathers had Twitter; Thomas Jefferson's drafts would have been buzzing like an apiary.
"Black Mirror" is the modern-day looking glass into the dark corners of our tech-obsessed minds, but the echoes of eeriness resonate through the annals of history. So, the next time you're tempted to rate your neighbor based on their lawn-mowing skills, remember that the digital dystopia of "Black Mirror" is just a high-tech remix of the quirky, unfiltered tales of early America. Xoxo, my digital time-travelers!
