Tumblr media
hello! series 15, episode 1!
Tumblr media
is it because now he looks like a pencil
Tumblr media
there is nothing dumb about complimenting the deity that presides over this hot mess. she thanks you for your words and will bless you
Tumblr media
aww i love lolly too she is precious! i feel like she has been focusing a lot on her acting career, as she’s played lead parts in rovers, loaded, and damned, and she’s been in plebs, sick note, josh, etc., and she’s about to star in the new hulu series shrill!! she’s the real deal!!! in the meantime if you rly miss her def check out her run on house of games 😚
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi anon, i talked about that briefly here. but who cares what i like! do you like him? :)
Tumblr media
the best thing about katherine is how well and hilariously she goes along with anything: people (okay, let’s be real, jimmy carr) will talk about her plastic surgery, call her a ho, make fun of her being a single mom, call her american (damn that’s rude) and she takes it all and dishes it back like u dont even know. and i’ve definitely talked about this on the blog before and agree w you completely. like, ily stephen fry, but katherine knows what a jaffa cake is. just get on with the facts. but katherine has such a grace and is so good at reading the tone of a room, it doesn’t faze her at all. maybe we’re just rly defensive of her bc we love her hehe
Tumblr media
i want more asks like this
Tumblr media
that’s so mean of a question!!!!!!!! cats does countdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you guys are so easily impressed by this man it is honestly endearing
Tumblr media
hahaha well, you know how celebs have it: stay-at-home parents when they’re not at gigs and can afford babysitters and night nurses. but when you’re naturally witty, relying on improv can sometimes be your best material!
and jsyk i added a lot of radio panel shows to the masterpost :)
Tumblr media
it was definitely good but to be fair he did it this with nish first, which imo was even funnier!
Tumblr media
hi anon sorry for taking so long to reply to this! well i’ve looked into it a bit (x) (x) (x) (x) and i wouldn’t necessarily say so, no. especially nowadays jimmy seems to get a kick out of james!
but i've read more than once about how competitive cats and mtw have a reputation for being, especially in the lock/manford years but even afterwards. up-and-coming comedians and new comedians were often made to feel like they didn’t have a right to outshine the longer-standing comedians, particularly sean. allegedly — and this is just a rumour — this is why some of the more impressive and popular comedians were regularly on sean’s team (jack dee, johnny vegas, etc.). this way, when jimmy would throw to sean’s team for a comment or answer, sean could immediately speak and up so they couldn’t, because he knows how much screentime they would get if they had a chance to do a full bit. jimmy was alleged to be part of this system, of not applauding/laughing loudly at an up-and-comer’s bits or moving on hastily to the next segment to eclipse a guest’s applause. in a way, i can see that happening during the regular cats episodes bc james really does come off as a standout act in those eps... but listen. this is all just industry say-so by some comedians who didn’t enjoy panel shows. as we know, a lot of comedians who still appear on panel shows have talked shit about panel shows (x) (x). so who knows the real truth 🤔
ps. i giffed that 8 out 10 cats bit and it’s in the queue ;)
Tumblr media
hey anon, nooot much apart from hypothetical, but cats, mtw, and qi xl will be out soon. you can keep up with that stuff over at /r/panelshow. and you know i  always keep updated episodes on the masterpost for all three of those programmes and more x
Tumblr media
not sure what you mean anon, all of the links seem to be working for me. maybe you can’t stream certain files bc you’re on mobile (which is only compatible with certain formats like .mp4 and .avi). here are past episodes and all new episodes are posted here. please don’t forget to check the f.a.q. so you know how to source this stuff in the future, it’s really easy and a great skill to have x
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’ll have to judge for yourselves...

Pangent Christmas Gift Solve
(Editor’s Note: This solve was submitted by Pangent Technologies)
http://pangenttechnologies.tumblr.com/post/154953464697
“What a thoughtful gift! Thank you!”
The Sister Location crew are credited, showing their logo (by artist Anne Noise) and, in the image’s blue channel, a link to a previously-used Ceefax credit roll.
http://pastebin.com/7wqfgukk
This puzzle is also linked to at the Signal and Noise Youtube Channel, to mark the occasion:
https://youtu.be/igxwQBpQlbU
Numbers are visible at the end:
151 155 147 165 162 056 143 157 155 057 141 057 143 154 124 164 105
Octal code linking to this imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/clTtE
The Pangent Technologies Sister Location’s Christmas gift this year starts out with a book promising to “Teach Yourself HTML-C,” a sports-themed hypertext markup language. The cover features Melanie Chisholm (Mel-C) and sports man Sergio Aguero.
A barcode is visible behind Sergio Aguero on the book cover, but it is obscured by a rainbow gradient. The image’s blue channel is made up of flat greys instead, and with a little leveling in Photoshop a clean barcode can be recreated.
The barcode reads:
media 50caevcbp5x2047
http://www.mediafire.com/file/50caevcbp5x2047/move_over.zip
Two test videos of Pangent London project supervisor Charlotte Baird (Snail, King) were sent to the Sister Location, to do what they liked with.
This remixed video is titled )!!!))!!)!!)!))!)!!!))!!)!!!)!)))!!))!)!)!!!))!).mp4. As binary, the title decodes to “sister.”
The words “move over” appear onscreen, referencing the popular Spice Girls Pepsi song. Imagery of the Spice Girls Pepsi campaign also appears, I assume, though not clearly. Several images of Lottie are slowed down and laid over one another.
The audio is a cacophony.
In the left channel of the audio, in reverse, The Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” has been distorted to illegal levels, as has “Spice Up Your Life.”
The right channel contains an SSTV image in Scottie-1 format, an inverted Merry Christmas message.
http://imgur.com/LeDGg0i
This leads to:
http://pastebin.com/YNJ09cxD
The header identifies this as a PBM image, 8x345.
I found this step a bit convoluted. The data is Base64, but does not decode to legible text. The goal is to convert it from Base64 to binary. Some online tools don’t give a clean result from this either. This one worked:
https://conv.darkbyte.ru/
The resulting binary code can be saved as a PBM image (or otherwise converted to image form). It’s a barcode, and rotated it looks like this:
When scanned, this leads to another pastebin.
http://pastebin.com/G8Gykx09
These letters can be shifted- an A becoming the letter N- to read as follows:
THIS MESSage is mAdE of DifFErent BIts And PIeCES sOME ARE MORe ImPORtAnT WhILe OtHeRS ARE leSs IMportaNT bUT AlL Of tHEm MUST BE uSeD to dETERmINe tHE neXt DeSTINATIoN aLoNG YOUr JOurNEy
Taking letters which are capitalized versus lowercase gives us this:
11111111000000101001001100001100100110111011111111101011101011011010101111100101100000110111011001101111110101000111101100110010101111111010101111101100110
Decoded as ITA (Baudot-Murray) code, this reads “media 1yg4stf8ya84gq8”
DTMF_Intercept is a clever bit of lo-fi audio. Someone audibly dials the phone number “555 9990.” After two rings, we hear audio of Lottie in the Cube (from video Complete).
A recorded voice says something (possibly “Leave a message”). We hear a modem connect to the internet.
A Texas Instruments Speak & Spell circa 1978 (or a similar toy), says: “Welcome stranger, to level one. Spell treasure.”
The stranger dials “124 162 145 141 163 165 162 145” decodable as DTMF tones. This indeed spells “Treasure” in octal.
These tones follow: 150 164 164 160 072 057 057 167 167 167 056 155 145 144 151 141 146 151 162 145 056 143 157 155 057 077 144 067 161 066 071 060 066 144 063 067 167 154 060 150 146
This is octal for: http://www.mediafire.com/?d7q6906d37wl0hf
“Homestead.mp3” features different audio in the left and right channels. A voice says “Synchronizing Input” and both left and right channels are presented in two parts.
All four sections contain symbols in the spectrogram, which are cut-up portions of letters or numbers. This is based around the Homestead font by Luke Lisi.
The left and right channels must be mixed down together, and then the second half synchronized exactly to the first half, and mixed down again.
http://imgur.com/QyNirOA
The completed spectrogram reads as follows:
68 74 74 70 3A 2F 2F 69 6D 67 75 72 2E 63 6F 6D 2F 5A 67 4F 77 5A 5A 4D
This is hexadecimal leading to: http://imgur.com/ZgOwZZMThis chart shows a series of resistors, with a four-band color code (Digit, Digit, Multiplier, Tolerance). The fourth band is always gold.
Decoded as colors: Bl0 Br1 R2 O3 Y4 Gre5 Bl6 V7 Gra8 W9
The digits are:
776 694 682 730 762 656 864 860 490 736 762 554 904 710 762 696 692 544 866 530
The third digit is used here to put each set of two digits in the correct (descending) order, as follows:
77696873 65867686 73557649 69907671 86546953
This is Decimal for “MEDIAVLVI7L1EZLGV6E5” http://www.mediafire.com/file/vlvi7l1ezlgv6e5/again.zip
At this point, the Sister Location’s very clever puzzles end, and Pangent takes over again.
“again” is a 1:30 video set to Tom Petty’s “Christmas All Over Again.”
We see an inflatable penguin proudly displayed outside as part of a home’s Christmas decorations. A white Christmas tree with red ornaments decorates a shop window, and plush penguin hats are on sale. Eric inspects them. There is an obese skating penguin decoration, which lights up. Cute cartoony penguin ornaments show their candy cane skates. A shop window Santa looks too realistic. There is also a Golden Wooden Soldier statue, and another of a Christmassy Rihanna. Eric inspects penguin-themed greeting cards. One has a moving mouth and sings:
“Candy canes are my favorite dish, much sweeter than squid or tiny fish! Look for them by land or sea! Candy canes, woo! And a Merry Christmas to you from me! Merry Christmas!”
The very end of the video has spectrogram audio which displays various emojis (snail, penguin, cat, etc).
http://imgur.com/ywr0KEW
By now you should be familiar with the Pangent Emoji Code, which presents certain emojis and certain colors in a certain order.
The result here is: 146 060 141 062 170 155 066 065 141 070 171 155 165 155 062
An octal code which reads “f0a2xm65a8ymum2”
This is a mediafire link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/f0a2xm65a8ymum2/christmas.zip Another Christmas video, just over 2 minutes in length and in a 4x3 PAL format.
In glitchy Youtube footage sourced from glitchy VHS, the Spice Girls wish us a Happy Christmas.
Well, technically they’re talking to Daryl Somers, host of Australia’s “Hey Hey It’s Saturday.”
We then hear the Spice Girls discuss Christmas, in the intro to their version of “Sleigh Ride.”
On Mar 5, 2016, Signal and Noise uploaded a video titled “Storyline Express.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrodL8tyyrs
Eric was in this video, but obscured.
We now see Eric standing in front of the “Storyline Express” posing for a photograph.
A logo appears for “Spice Up Your Christmas.” With “Too Much” as the background music, the Spice Girls introduce a concert and talk about Christmas.
Eric and Lottie pose- awkwardly- for a photograph at the end.
The spectrogram contains more emojis:
http://imgur.com/nR0GcCl
This can be decoded as octal: 163 062 141 063 146 070 060 065 066 161 061 151 151 067 164
leading to another mediafire URL: http://www.mediafire.com/file/s2a3f8056q1ii7t/merry.zip
In one video, the Spice Girls say they’re doing Christmas Karaoke. And everyone will have to sing with them because they don’t know the words.
In a video titled “Merry,” Eric attempts to sing “Have yourself a merry little Christmas.” He’s changed the lyrics a bit, including a verse or two from the melancholy version that Hugh Martin wrote and Judy Garland rejected for the film “Meet Me In St. Louis.” Eric, not a singer, uses lyrics somewhere inbetween.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light For today, our troubles will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas It may be our last Next year we may all be living in the past We’ll remember the olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us And are near to us no more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Until then we’ll have to muddle through somehow And have yourself a merry little Christmas now Merry Christmas.
