i cant stop thinking about those old tales of sailors who fall in love with their sea, who find mermaids between waves and cant sleep if their bed is still. the dizzy point where the sea and her lulling becomes a lover.

nezha has been the best non heir he could, he has managed a good fiancé of high nest and is doing his best coping with the arrangement, knowing where his loyalties lie. hes does his best, until one night, he starts to hear the sea.

shes always whispering for him, spoils him with her catches and the quality of the fishing spot she recommends him, to the sunsets that leave him feeling empty and blind, how could he not love something so big? so out of reach? he feels as if its her love that consumes him. his fiancé is worried, his family is ashamed, his little brother is preoccupied, hes not listening to them and keeps running away to the shore wherever it 'calls for him', on his pajamas, in the middle of a dinner, he only has time for it.

What if instead of waking up in the mushroom body, sqq woke up in a doll.

Something something while lbh was away in the abyss, sqq without noticing offended a misterious (demonic-succubi-esque???) cultivator with a weird thing for making dolls. She had dolls all over her secret workshop that she very kindly let him into when she heard about the famous Xiu Ya sword being in the city.

What she wanted of him? Who knows, sqq couldn't bring himself to care. She probably wanted his money or try to steal his hair, the hair of those dolls seemed very much like real hair, although he had to admit the level of details on these dolls were amazing.

(she wanted to trick him into buying one of her cursed dolls and steal his life energy little by little, but got wifebeamed by widow sqq during their conversation about how talented she was to be able to make so many dolls, and without really understanding he rejected her with little to no emotion on his face)

So she cursed him, and since sqq didn't feel anything bad at the moment he thought it just didn't work and left, not sparing the curse a single thought after their encounter.

The rest of the story goes as usual, excep that after he self detonates his soul doesn't go into the mushroom body, instead it got directly into the shape of a doll in the workshop of this woman.

His first thought is thinking someone snitched the mushroom body bc wtf wasn't he supposed to wake up under the dirt??? Why this place smells slightly familiar? Like paint and humidity and floral perfumes?? and why everything looks fucking giganourmus?!?! A teapot should NOT look that big from his position....Oh no, did the mushroom body turned out as small as a squirrel? WhAT is happening?!

And then he looks at his arms and legs, and he has joints. White paper skin with joints in his wrists, elbows, torso, waist, knees, feet. And he panics, a lot.

The woman who cursed him starts monologuing about how she trapped him now, and you are mine, I made this doll specially for you master shen, this is my revenge for your insolence to leave me yada yada- Sqq stoped listening a while ago.

Somehow he manages to escape from this woman and now he is roaming around as the size of some apples. Everything is huge. Everything is dangerous, even the grasshopers! And this body is fragile! He can't feel heat nor cold, neither hunger or other things, but he is useless with no spiritual veins inside, and if someone is not looking carefully, they might crush him. And the way back to cq is gonna be a hell of a trip! But he needs airplane to fix this. He can't stay as a doll forever! He needs a mushroom body and then fly into the sunset far from this mess! Adiós! Goodbye! So his new plan is to infiltrate into cang qiong, look for that rat and disappear. Sneaking into some disciple's pouch must be enough to break in.

Something something it only had passed a few months since lbh stole sqq's body and everything is still very fresh. CQ mountain is a hot mess. Sqh frankly needs to lay down and take a nap. Lqg keeps figthing with Lbh practially every day and coming back beaten bloody, he has his king pestering him and a lot of paperwork to do, Lbh is a pain in the ass, Yqy is really close to snap and start a war with HHP, and he knows nothing about his bro. So yeah. Such a great time to be alive.

The mushroom bodies should had been ready, right? He must be alright...Yeah. He has enough already to keep him busy. Cucumber bro is gonna come out and stumble across at any moment. No one would bat an eye if he takes a nap, right? He deserves it. He is overworked enough for another lifetime, his head hurts, his bones hurt everywhere, a short nap should be fine...

Until he feels something small tugging his robes and a cold tiny finger poking his eyelids. But he doesn't want to. He is very comfortable on the floor of his office. Whatever bird decided to pick a fight with his face can keep trying.

VII. The Lovers- (Young) Mr Sands and Rosalinda

Seventh card of the Jorvik inspired tarot deck. Today, The Lovers represented by Rosalinda and Mr Sands.

This card can mean many things, reflecting themes like beauty, love, relationships, choice and impact of the partners, hearts being tempted, trials being overcome (or failed), as well as sacrifices, especially in context of sacrificing a part of your life (like a bride sacrifices her life before marriage to a new status of wife).

Considering the story of Sands and Rosalinda, all those themes can be seen. Their meeting and love is actually one of the most impactful turning points in the history of the figth of Garnok and Aideen, despite being such a minute, human thing. After all, it puts Sands into the trajectory of becoming Garnok's Champion, seeking revenge after being drowned by his own grief. Both of the lovers also faces their own trials and sacrifices. With Rosalinda the theme of trial is actually really... direct. Depending on whether we consider book or game lore, she was tried as a witch, either by trial of water, or burned at the stake, for Sands, his trial was the depth of his grief and anger, which became the second trial lost for them. As far as sacrifices go, Sands consider the day of Rosalinda's death like his own death- at least spiritually/ emotionally. Later, the temptation of Garnok will come.

There is a lot of beauty and tragedy in their stories, and I really wish we'd get to hear more of it in the game or media around the game sometime- it brings depth to Mr Sands, it showcases the history of Jorvegian culture, could show us more about the witches and magic of the island. She is actually really nice, kind of would destroy most of the things for the ones she really loves. Not use to get emotional conections, and if she does are really important, so, a betrayall would kill any chance of comeback (Like cheating, disrespect of boundaries, lies and stuff). Her emotional and close relationship are realy important to her, so, if something bad happened to you it would worry and scare the shit out of her, and for that she use to be really protective, and in cases, even toxic -"Why are you going out at this hour?" "you didn´t tell me!"- so if you are a "spirit" free dude, belive me, this is not gonna be the most compatible realtionship.

Whit time and trust, she gonna be more chill about it, like when your parents accept that you are not a child and start to let you date, and even drink, so she won´t be weird and that worry about your well-being, she only want one thing: a text from time on time saying that you are okay, that´s all. Reyna already have lost so many people, she can´t risk loosing you too.

OMEN

He is usually really down on himself, most insecure and distant. there is almost no diference between being his friend at being his lover, so please, patiente! Most of the figths are for not comunicate what he feels and that gonna be the biggest issue on the relationship, he doesn´t know how really say how he feel, so he just gonna feel lost on his own issues and want to do all for himself, going distant and even trating you poorly when he feels down (thing that ofc is wrong)

the only solution is time, he want time for process all of his trauma and lack of memories, and you would need time to process of how traumatized he is. If you really want to keep him by your side it gonna required a lot of comunication and silence, sometimes the silence is better than the deaf words, he want that, not empty words. He gonna be kniting and thinking, leeting the stress out, and you? by his side doing something by your own. Understand the others need gonna be the damn key, and he really NEED to feel like you understand.

She doesn´t have time for a relationship, the kind of girl that feels like a busy billionaire because is IMPOSIBLE that every day of her damn week is already fully whit a activity of vital importance, belive me, having these kinds of relation ship is tiring. The main problem is not when he is out, he is attentive, text you, send you pics when he can, and try to be in your arms all the time he can, but when he is you he have almost 10% batery on, only craving sleep, cuddling and being spoiled, sound cute, but when is always like that is usaully tiring and feel like you are his nany more than a partner, and this can lead to figths, figths that he would feel like invalid or overreacting, and that word gonna piss you off.

Tara went to see sister Sam, but they got into an argument.

“Sam, stop” Tara sighed.

“I mean it, I don't trust him. We barely know him and you don't even know what city he is from. I don't think he is good enough for you” Sam said.

“He makes me happy and I care about him a lot,” Tara said.

“Open your eyes! I think you should break up with him” Sam said.

“I’m leaving!” Tara yelled.

Tara left and she took a cab to your place. You are happy to see her but you can tell she isn't happy.

“What happened?” You asked.

“I got into an argument with Sam again. She doesn't trust you and wants me to dump you” Tara said.

“An what do you want?” You asked.

“You make me happy, Y/n, and I mean it. I haven't been this happy in a long time” Tara said.

Much later, you and Tara went to sleep. But she couldn't sleep but you are sleeping, you have your arm around her body. She starts to think about what Sam said and thinks about what she knows about you. She doesn't know a lot about you and she doesn't know when is your birthday, she starts to think what kind of relationship she is in. She gently moved your arm away from her and slowly got out of bed. You didn't notice and you didn't wake up. She grabbed your cell phone and went to the bathroom, she locked the door.

She knows your password because one time she had to use it. She went through your texts, which weren't a lot. You have online friends that you send funny memes the only texts she saw the most, were between you and her. Then she went to phone call history, she noticed a lot of unknown phone numbers. But one phone number stood out and she called it and someone picked up...

“Thank you for calling, Ray’s butcher shop. What's your next kill?” She said.

She hangs up and she downloads a tracking app, and she hides the app with the other apps. You woke up and walked towards the bathroom and you try to open the door. She got scared and quickly hides the phone in her pocket, then she opened the door.

“Hey, babe,” Tara said.

“Sorry, I didn't know you were in the bathroom” You yawned.

“I’m done” Tara smiled.

She went back to the room and you went into the bathroom. She put the phone back on the nightstand, then she got her phone and took a picture of your state ID. You come back later, then she cuddles with you again.

Tara has been checking your locations on her phone. She is starting to feel bad about it and she doesn't want to tell Sam about it. She texted so that you can go to her house. Before you go, you went to pick up snacks for her.

But Ghostface starts to attack Tara. She tried running towards the door but Ghostface slashed her in the stomach. She tries calling the cops then she starts to run away to the kitchen. She is panicking and crying, then she grabbed the knife and starts to move slowly. But Ghostface jumped out of nowhere and grabbed her. Ghostface stabbed her in the stomach then they start to fight. Ghostface grabbed her by the hair, then pushed her to the floor. She tries to get away but Ghostface starts to hurt her again.

You arrived at the house and you hear her screaming. You see Ghostface and you tackle Ghostface and you start to punch the killer in the face. You hear the cops but you don't stop then Ghostface slashed your cheek and then pushed you away. The killer runs away but you run towards Tara.

“Babe, I'm here now. What happened?” You said.

You add pressure to her stomach, and you hold her tight.

“It was Ghostface!” Tara cried.

Sam arrived at the house and she thinks you hurt her sister. She punched you in the face then you moved away from Tara.

“You hurt my sister!” Sam yelled.

“It wasn't me!” You yelled.

She grabbed the knife and tries to stab you. But you dodge every attack, if she wasn't Tara’s sister then you would have fought back. The cops rushed inside and told you two to stop

“He attacked my sister!” Sam yelled.

“Not true! I just got here and it was Ghostface!” You said.

But they start to arrest you and they get help for Tara. Cop took you to the police station. You start to tell them what happened and Sam went with Tara to the hospital.

Hours Later... You went to the hospital to see your girlfriend. But Sam and her friends are there and Sam is glaring at you.

“I came to see her not you,” You said.

“You should leave, Y/n,” Sam said.

“Tara, how are you feeling?” You asked.

“You should leave, Y/n,” Tara said.

“What... Why?” You said.

“I don't trust you. I don't know anything about you at all. And I don't know when is your birthday” Tara said.

Tara has been staying with Sam and Danny but Tara mostly stays in her room. But they do try to figure out who is Ghostface. Sam thinks it's you but Tara doesn't believe that. Chad tries to convince Tara not to get back to you, but she doesn't want to talk about it.

Ghostface started to chase Sam and Tara. But the killers managed to attack Tara and her friends, now they need to stop the two killers. Tara called you and she is hiding in the closet

“Tara?” You asked.

“Y/n, I need you. They are back. We thought it was one but it's two or three, I don't know but they are trying to kill us” Tara cried.

“Where are you?” You asked.

“Sam’s apartment. She lives by the old theater” Tara said.

“Listen to me, just go there with your sister. I will be there soon! Okay. I will protect you and Sam” You said.

“Okay!” Tara said.

You heard Tara scream and she dropped her cell phone. You put on your suit and then your mask, and you grabbed your blades. You knew where the old theater is and you didn't waste time getting there. Sam and Tara ran to the old theater, but the killers are steps ahead of them. Sam used her gun to shoot them but she kept missing.

Ghostface chased Tara and Sam toward the edge of the balcony. Then another killer appeared.

“You would be in the movie, Sam. We just couldn't let the franchise die” Ghostface said.

“But why?” Sam asked.

Ghostface takes off the mask and they are in shock.

“Richie!?” Tara yelled.

“They keep messing up the franchise and it bothered me so much! And we had to do something about it” Richie said.

“You attacked me at my house?” Tara asked.

“Yeah, I had to do it. I got so close to seeing you bleed out but your stupid boyfriend ruined the moment for me!” Richie yelled.

The other killer takes off the mask and it's Amber.

“You are in this too?!” Sam yelled.

“Yeah, he is right about the franchise. It was fun watching you blame the wrong person for this” Amber smirked.

You arrived and threw ninja stars at their legs, they are in pain.

“A third killer!?” Tara yelled.

“No. It's just us two” Amber said.

“Who the hell are you?” Richie asked.

“Death,” You said.

Richie run towards you and he tried to stab you. But you grabbed his hand and then punched him in the face. The girls watch you fight Richie then he tried to stab you in the face but again, you grabbed his hand and snapped it in two. Richie is screaming in pain. Amber used her shotgun and you run for cover. Sam kicked Richie in the face then you throw a dagger toward Amber, it got her in the chest. Then Tara ran towards Amber and pushed the dagger deep into her chest, she starts to bleed out.

“Die, bitch!” Tara said.

She takes out the dagger and starts to stab Amber multiple times. Amber dropped to the floor and bleeds out. Then Richie grabbed Tara and pressed the knife hard against her neck.

“Come out, now or she will die! Don't think about it, Sam because one step you make then I will kill her” Richie yelled.

You come out.

“Don’t hurt her” You said.

“Take off the mask, now!” Richie screamed.

You take off the mask.

“Y/n?” Tara said.

Then you felt a gun press your head and it's Wayne Bailey.

“Put your hands up,” Wayne said.

“Fine,” You said.

You slowly put your hands behind your head, you secretly take out the hidden blade from your left wrist. You slowly turned around

“You should have stayed away, Y/n. But you still have to die” Wayne said.

“Or you can turn yourself in,” You said.

“Funny guy,” Wayne said.

You turn slowly before he pulled the trigger, you sued the hidden blade to cut his forearm. He drops the gun and screams in pain then you stabbed him in the chest. He falls to the floor then you turned around and you glare at Richie.

“You ruined everything, Y/n” Richie yelled.

He stabbed Tara in the stomach and then pushed her over the rail. But she managed to grab the rail but Richie starts to run away. You run towards Tara and you grabbed her hand. But Sam went after Richie and she took your dagger.

“Don’t let go!” You said.

“I can't hold on any longer” Tara cries.

“I got you!” You said.

You use all your strength and you pulled her over the rail. You had pressure on the wound

“I will explain later, I promise,” You said.

“You better tell me the fucking truth, Y/n,” Tara said.

You nod then you put on the mask, then go help Sam. But she killed him and she aims the gun at you.

“Are you really going to do this?” You asked.

You and Sam hear the cops running in the building. They are yelling freeze, then you used smoke bombs to escape. Sam and the cops start to cough. Sam and Tara are taken to the hospital.

“I don't know. I know you want me to break up with him” Tara said.

You went to the room and you show the outfit. Then you take out the weapons and she is speechless.

She walked towards you, gently put her hand on your cheek and you slightly bend down then she starts to kiss you. You don't stop her and you are kissing her back.

“You still can be my boyfriend” Tara smiled.

“Cool. Do you want to stay? Or we can go out to eat?” You said.

“Put your clothes back on. And your scars don't change my feelings how I feel about you, Y/n and I still think you are cute” Tara said.

You start to put your clothes back on. You and Tara go out to eat while walking to the restaurant you and Tara hold hands.

thoughts on epic Calypso?

This is tricky, but I will try. I dont hate her or think she SA'ed Odysseus. I think she is pushy, yes, but she never forced him to do anything in EPIC. I think people go a lilttle to harsh on her, wanting to 'protect' Odysseus, as if he was a helpless child, when he can easyly manipulate and decive Calypso to not have any sex with her. I hate how everytime someone is some kinda of victim the majoryty of the public try to see as if the character lost all agency, as if they cant fight for themselfs, when they figth a lot. I trully belive that nothing sexual happend and Calypso is not this monster some fans like to portrait her.

But I cant forget some contexts of the Odssey when I analyze EPIC, as for example, Calypso is also traped in that island (its a punishment for being on the titans side of the war, if I'm correct). Calypso also loved Odysseu because he was the first person to appear in CENTURYES. And in some versions Odysseus sleep with her and was ok with it, as for ancient greek this was not cheating because Calypso 'seduced'(she was just beautifull) Odysseus and he stayed with her over years because he wanted too. Does any of this excuse any abusive behavior as traping Odysseus with her in the island? NO! But she is not a pervert monster and Odysseus is not helpless little boy (he survive poseidon, scylla... my god guys, its crazy think this man would be helpless in any scenario, to me he was able to deny and be with Calypso all this years with not being SA'ed just trinckying her with smooth talk). I see that EPIC Calypso is way more soft and gentle, so I tend to be more sympatetic with her (maybe because the singer is so cute too u.u). In the end I like to have complex fellings about characters, and her is a good example.

By any means I'm saying a real man in a real situation cant be abused by woman in a lot of contexts, I'm here talking especifally about Odysseus and Calypso.

I've got a lot of things to say about s2 so I'll divide them in two posts, spoilers after the cut beware

First thing first, the intro, it's beautiful I love it, it gives us a lot of information about every character and what they're going through, about how each and everyone of them is changing and that's exactly why I think it will change before the end of the season, once everyone is focus. I don't think it will change every act, even though I'd love that but I'd surprised if it didn't change at all.

Now let's talk about the juicy stuff.

Jinx

What I really want to talk about is the figth with Vi and Cait. I really don't think Jinx went there with the intention of dying, I think she went there with the intention of killing both Vi and Powder for good, and also found herself face to face with the monster she created, Caitlyn. When Caitlyn shot her finger off was probably the first time we've seen, Jinx, not Powder, actually being terrified and what is Jinx if not a mask, a persona that Powder has learnt to wear to survive the undercity when she was alone the first time around. Right now Powder needs people more than ever, she needs Ishta and she needs Sevika because Jinx isn't working anymore she needs to find a new way to be able to survive and I think it's the perfect timing for her to become the face of the revolution, because she's ready to accept people in her life once more, because simply surviving by being the baddest bitch around isn't viable anymore, she needs an higher purpose to move her forward and finally bring her out of the metaphorical cage her past rappresents. I can really see Jinx take on the role of protector this season, to the undercity, to Ishta and maybe Vi? After watching her stand up to Cait, literally blocking her bullets with her own body, I think Jinx has realized that even though Vi has made a lot of awful decision, she is still there, she just needs a little push to remember who she is. Let's be real the nothing else to lose clip has basically told us that they were teaming up again, we're getting the sisters back together this is just something that re-enforces the theory.

Sevika and Ishta

Ok, this is rough because I'm just speculating and I have nothing to base this hunch on, but I unfortunately think that Ishta is going to die, and that Sevika is going to betray Jinx. The only thing that supports this insane theory is that Arcane is a story told in cycles the end for how awful it is will never change, it's always the characters making the same mistakes of the past and to whom do we see Jinx being compared to? Vander. And who did Sevika betray? yep Vander. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong but I can totally see Sevika become the next Vander or Silco, by the end of the season, and I guess a lot of people think it's going to be Jinx but as Jinx has said herself to Smeech, "every one that gets close to me dies". Ishta and the people of the undercity are going to be collateral damage and this will prompt Sevika to turn on Jinx.

Ekko

He's the only one who got the assignment. He's the only one who tries to break the cycle of violence, he tries to do it with Jinx even though he gets blown up by a granade as a thank you and he breaks it with Heimerdinger without pointing the finder and this time he manages to get an ally in fighting the arcane pollution. No notes here, Ekko is the bestest boy.

Mel

I think the intro is telling us that by the end of the season Mel is going to be in the position Ambessa was in the blood and tears music video. I might be wrong but I can see her understanding what the fuck is Ambessa up against and choose to take her family side here. She is ready to become both the fox and the wolf (poor Jayce, he's going to get through another divorce). Also hasn't Mel been revealed a mage by the catastrophic promotional campaign? I guess that would explain how she and Jayce are unscathed.

Viktor

Jesus Viktor is kind of hot, I would love to talk about him but he's barely even been shown and I know basically nothing about lol lore. I can't understand if he's a good guy, a bad guy or a secret third option, so far I can only say that if he's able to control the arcane pollution in order to heal people he could be of help to Ekko.

Jayce

He keeps changing his mind on everything as usual, but I personally could have not argued with what he said to Viktor during the divorce. He was right morality means nothing if you have a chance of saving your friend's life. Other than that, I loved the weird glitchy thing at the base of the hex gates and how Ekko basically told him he's to blame for the arcane pollution that is destroying his home. Really hope Jayce owns up to it and does something to actually fix his mistakes.

Ambessa

I loved how she controls the scene while basically being background. The way she regards Caitlyn when she shuts Salo up at the meeting. It's obvious she thinks she's finally found the perfect person for the job, Caitlyn has the power to make Jayce build weapon with hextech, her family name carries way more respect than Salo, and what's more she's a decorated officer, the one who managed to uncover Marcus corruption. I mean she'd be every fascist wet dream, it's pretty obvious that the big houses of Piltover will get behind her without saying a word. Salo on the other hand would have been a much thougher sale, even if safer. Let's be real Caitlyn isn't a coward or an idiot like Salo and for as much as Ambessa will be trying to manipulate her, Caitlyn will be breathing down her neck. It's obvious at least to me that if the leader of a foreign country is offering help she will want something in return and Caitlyn being the daughter of a councilor will at least have had a bit of training in politics and know at least the basics. I can see Cait bend her morality to the limit willingly, but not fall for the manipulation, not completely at least. I really hope she'll not be that stupid, but I guess we'll have to see.

Cait and Vi will get their own post, cause seriously there is just too much to talk about.

One of my main problems with miraculous is the main villain and how little he’s actually doing in story most of the time

Gabriel never truly gains the own self claimed rivalry he has with ladybug, she ruins he’s plans but in most encounters he just sends minions and someone else screws up (all Akumas being very dumb or guillable, a new hero appearing or the heroes genuinely beating him fair and square) like when he used all miraculous and got himself stunned for overusing ALL miraculous like a idiot

Ladybug never truly defeated Hawkmoth (I’m heroes day she needed back up and he ran away, in sentibug he and Mayura ran away, same for miracle queen, her amulets were useless against mega Akumas, she lose the miraculous to Felix, escaped again by cataclysm himself and we all now how the final battle ended) her only wins against him (not a Akuma or goon, HIM) are getting the bunny miraculous back and in one of the world specials in which she had lots and lots of help

Series’s which last more than three seasons has their heroes constantly facing the villain because otherwise the foe will feel nonexistent after they only see it a couple of times in 72 episodes!

They never feel like foes, there’s examples of good villains like this like the emperor which has this constant presence and power and he’s made even better in the prequels when he appears unchanged but has a lot more involvement in the story at the end, just like Gabriel should (starts the events but in the end he triggers the most important things and brings it all to a climax) the problem is how incompetent he is (so he can’t be a master planner) and how weak he’s been portrayed has after season 2, went from beating the main two alone and without a weapon, to losing against POWERLESS TEENAGERS WITH CONDIMENTS WHEN HAVING TWO MIRACULOUS, ONE OF WHICH IS CREATION ITSELF!!! (so he can’t be threatening by power) and Nathalie is the actual brains of the operation making him look incompetent,weak and stupid all at the same time

A villain with a grudge like Gabriel’s would be constantly figthing agaisnt the heroes and losing by ability of the heroes and not by luck

Heroes constantly chasing after him, heroes he has a genuinely hard time facing, heroes who make him lose things (like going to prison, losing Allie’s, losing the Mcguffin, hurting someone beloved to the bad guy like a right hand)

Gabriel can work has villain, but not one who has a obsession like the Joker, or someone you can feel the hate coming from like Eggman, not even a rival’s who have a long story like Bowser

Because by all accounts he shouldn’t care about the heroes, only their miraculous, ladybug has only pushed he’s plans back but never succeeded at even making him lose something

That’s my other problem, Gabriel acts like ladybug won the war when in reality she had only wan battles, but never made any progress (Gabriel was actually the one winning the war with getting rid of the guardian and damning Chloe and having the zodiac miraculous)

He does the bare minimum, is portrayed has a easy to beat trash, the heroes do nothing to beat him making him constantly somewhat win the important battles by doing nothing, and it never feels like there’s a real rivalry or fiendship

Even shows 10 times worse than miraculous Can do actually good villains, even parody’s can make better villains, even telenovelas can make better villains!!!!

Honestly, the show should have just booted Gabriel from the main villain spot by the end of Season 3, maybe Season 4, because at this point, he's long overstayed his welcome, even if he wasn't a complete moron.

I said the Biggest Idiot Award was lifted from Phelous' reviews of Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, but there's one clip in particular that can be used to explain how inept both the heroes and villains are.

Like you said, the finale clearly tried to make the final battle between Bug Noire and Monarch as epic as possible, like Superman vs Lex Luthor, but Marinette and Gabriel have spent so little time together, you just can't get invested in their supposedly bitter rivalry. Even the finale made a bigger deal about their connection being their respective relationships with Adrien instead of their roles as hero and villain.

Once for Christmas or wtv they do there the director gifted all the kids a sword,/knigths plushie and Ballister was the only one that got a dragon one.

However, he was THRILLED because Ambrosius thought that it was the coolest thing ever that now they got to play "Slay the Monster" and this resulted in a teacher finding Ballister on top of a broom closet, hugging his dragon and laughing his ass off, while Ambrosius, pouting and gripping his little knigth on his hand, screaming tahat climbing up there was cheating because Ballister was "flexible like a snake!"

Ambrosius defended that plushie to DEATH, everyday for the next month he got into a figth that kinda went like this: "We don't care that you don't want to play with us, because Ballister has the best toy ever. Everyone has a knight, Todd. I have millions at home, like everyone else in the class. A monster is funnier because you can punch it. What are you going to do with a bunch of knigths and not a single monster, uh? Run around? It's boring. What are you going to do? Yeah, that's what I thought. Come on, bal. Don't talk to them" with all the sass his little body could muster up.

“Please be careful!” Alex calls without looking away from the drumstick he’s trying to balance on his nose.

From up in the loft, where he and Reggie are inevitably in the middle of doing something stupid and dangerous, Luke shouts back, “You’re not allowed to have opinions if you’re not gonna help!”

The drumstick falls, clattering onto the floor too far for Alex to reach it, so he gives up and sits up on the couch with a sigh. Sure enough, Luke has one leg looped over the loft railing while Reggie stands poised with a basketball.

So much for plausible deniability.

“What. Are you doofuses. Doing.”

“No opinions!” Luke says again, and holds tight to the railing while he steps his other foot over. “All right, Reggie, you ready?”

“Ready!”

“Julie’s gonna kill you if you die,” Alex says helpfully.

“Shut up, bro!” Luke bends his knees. “Okay, man. Three, two, one. Go!”

Reggie throws the ball as Luke jumps off the railing. Before Alex can so much as cry out, Luke disappears with a whoosh of displaced air, and Reggie poofs out after him a second later.

There’s a series of sounds from out on the driveway—the double whoosh of ghosts poofing in, the clang thud of a basketball hitting the rim and then asphalt, and then Luke and Reggie’s twin cries of disappointment.

Alex rolls his eyes. They’ve gotta get hobbies.

A moment later, Luke and Reggie phase through the studio doors, basketball in hand.

Alex smirks. Luke looks no worse for wear from his experiment, just pouty and determined. “Did you dunk it?”

“No,” Luke says grumpily. He gestures Reggie toward the loft. “Come on, let’s try again.”

“Alex could probably do it!” Reggie points out.

Alex laughs. “He’s calling you short.”

Luke glares at both of them. “I’m gonna do it. I just need to keep trying.”

They climb back up to the loft. Alex leans forward in his seat, clapping his hands together to watch the impending disaster.

The second try, Luke poofs out too early and Alex catches the basketball as Luke’s cursing rings through the studio doors.

The third try, Reggie follows Luke out to the driveway without actually throwing the basketball, leaving him standing on the driveway with it while Luke has nothing to dunk.

The fourth through ninth tries, everything goes totally as planned, Luke is just bad at shooting hoops.

As Luke’s clambering over the loft railing for the tenth time, Alex muses, “You know this would be way easier if you could float.”

Reggie cuts his gaze to Alex. “Like Caleb?”

All three of them shudder. “Like… stereotypical ghosts,” Alex corrects. “Then you wouldn’t have to time the poofing right, you could just levitate and dunk it.”

Luke glares at him over his shoulder, feet braced between the bars of the loft. “That defeats the purpose, Alex. If I wanted to take the easy way out, I’d just learn how to dunk.”

“Oh, yeah, cause that’s super likely and possible.”

“The point—” Luke insists, speaking over him, “—is not to make the basket. It’s to do something awesome. And floating, like some kind of creepy magician, is not awesome.”

He punctuates his words with a dramatic waving of both hands, losing his grip on the loft railing entirely. Reggie cries out. Alex lunges to his feet, ready to catch Luke as he falls.

But he doesn’t fall. As Alex watches in wide-eyed wonder, Luke stands firmly in mid-air, an inch or two from the edge of the loft.

“Holy…” Alex mutters.

“Wow!” Reggie says, dropping the basketball in shock. “Luke, you’re floating!”

“I’m floating!” Luke stares down at himself. “This is so cool!”

“Let’s go dunk the basketball!”

“Screw the basketball, we gotta go show Julie!”

Luke and Reggie poof out, leaving Alex to shake his head in amusement. “Ghosts.”

Spiderverse x One Piece AU!

A little something that started as an exercise in character design and then I got a little bit into it lmao

I did design the rest of the East Blue Crew but uh... they were kinda ugly/boring, I put more effort into these two because they're the 💕favs💕

Info, kinda. Honestly I don't have a lot thought out its mostly random ideas that mushed together sort of resemble a well put together au, just like everything I do <3

Nami:

- Spider-Woman of her universe, while her design isn't exactly original I really liked using her orange and blue colors. She has the spider logo on her back because she hates spiders and hates looking at them lmao

- In her universe, her best friend Usopp died when she failed to save him (kinda her "Gwen Stacy" but he was just a friend)

- Has electricity powers, her spidey senses are also really in tune with the climate for some reason

- She has a staff (not pictured) she fights with, and also uses the environment to her favor, not the biggest fan of fighting hand to hand because (compared to other Spider-people) shes not as physically strong

- Has a few enemies and nemesis that she fights, Arlong being the most important/strong one

- She's actually quite happy to know other Spider-people, tho she was kinda shocked when she saw Usopp... It was awkard for both of them...

Usopp:

- The first Spider-man in his world, there are some things of his design I would change (mainly the sweatband, I would change the colors), but I'm actually quite happy with his design. Where does his nose go with the mask on? The same place Hobbie's hair goes, idk..

- In his universe, his best friend Nami died, Usopp failing to protect her

- Uncanny precision with his webfluids, also figths using the environment

- Unfortunately isn't a well received Spider-man 😔, gets complaints about destruction of property or how he's "pretty coward for a superhero"

- Really would rather focus on saving civilians from natural disasters, as he's also not as physically strong (compared to other Spider-people), but it seems every weirdo on the block decided they really need to beat this teenager up, so he also has some enemies...

- Super excited about meeting other Spider-people and finally being able to share life experiences with them, and then met Nami, or Spider-Woman Nami and it was awkard and uncomfortable (but they became besties, bittersweet moment)

Extra stuff from the rest of the East Blue Crew:

- Luffy's spiderman name is Spider-King and the rest of the Spidermans where like "I can't decide if that's the best or the worst name I've ever heard...". Well Usopp thinks it's kinda cool, and wishes he had chosen a cooler name for himself, might be too late for a new signature 🤔, Nami and Sanji think it's stupid, Zoro is undecided

- Sanji does not have a spider logo, even tho his name is Spider-man because he hates spiders

- Zoro is the second Spider-man from his universe, the first one being Kuina, she died and he took her place

- Sanji has fire inmunity

- Zoro carries like 5 extra pockets of web fluids cause he takes "longer routes" (he gets lost a lot)

I'm reading Houseki No Kuni I'm in chapter 49 and I have to talk some of my thougths until now.

Its interesting to me how they change the end of the anime puting Cinnabar instead of the Amethysts to save Fos, I'll be honest, i prefere in the anime. And despite everything, i do think they could follow the same line as the maga even with this difference, but i would like to see something new, but at the same time i really want to see the manga in an anime so... i mean, its not like they're going to bring back the anime out of nothing, those are just expeculations and opinions of mine.

Ghost Quartz and Peridot do not appear in the anime, like, i dindn't saw them even as background character. Sad, i like them. I felt so so bad when they got Ghost... poor Gorm :(

Otaes smile and Otaes tears - the Kyuubey-Arc is kinda a shitshow

Still on my Gintama-Rewatch and i've got feelings i need to let go off

So the Kyubey-Arc: Kyubey comes in, takes Otae a way like they are Bowser or something and it falls to Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, Kondo, Hijikata and Okita to get her back.

The good:

The whole toilet battle is a delight, Hijikatas figth *chefs kiss*; all the Okikagu stuff makes me so happy, Taes interactions with the mother in law are wonderfull and show her strengths as a character

But everything else - oh boy oh boy oh boy

rage under the cut (and this is overthinking one of the central conceits of gintama be warned)

lets start that the relationship between Otae and Kyubey is paralled with Kondos relationship to an actual gorilla (equating homosexuality with bestiality) can i just say YIKES!!!

Hijikata not being able to fight Kyubey because she is a ~woman~ UGH!!!

Everyone freaking out about two women getting married

But the worst thing is: Kyubey kinda has a point. She's going about the wrong way, and the criticism that she's being protected and that she's ignoring Otaes feelings are correct but everything she says about shinpachi is true

let's imagine for a second that Otae really wanted to marry Kyubey (Sorachi would never let that happen because status quo is god, and he actually can't imagine a homosexual relationship at this point bless his heart) but let's imagine: if that were true Kagura would be correct that everyone is being a big jerk.

Shinpachi doesn't consider this - he storms inside like a jilted lover and just tries to take Otae back because she didn't discuss things with him, which granted was kind a dick move but it wasn't something she needed to do. He takes it as a reason to ignore her feelings.

Otae stops him. She wants to stay. So Shinpachi berates her because she's always shutting her feelings away and doesn't accept help. She still refuses to follow him. He hits her. Her cheek becomes red and for a moment Otae looks really vulnerable. Than Otae answers with anger and punches back and the whole scene becomes comedic.

I want to stay here for a moment. The slap is not comedic it becomes comedic through Otaes reaction. A lot of stuff Otae has to deal with on a daily basis only becomes comedic because she never shows weakness. Let's put a pin in that.

In a moment Shinpachi will say that anyone who makes his woman cry is a jerk.

Shinpachi my dear - what about the guys who hit them because they're not acting the way they're supposed to.

Because lets face it: Tae-chans fake smile never bothered anyone before. Be honest with yourself, Shinpachi. You didn't want to know. as long as she stayed with you, you were absolutely fine with this. Gintama as a whole series is constantly telling women that they should smile through the pain so that their male counterparts feel better - do you think Tae-chan never cried before?

Kyubey is misguided but her criticism is correct. Shinpachi always needs Tae to be strong. He can't handle it if she weren't. She's supposed to be strong and care for their family home and have a stable income (because Shinpachi sure doesn't have one)

It's the same with Kondo: Kondo depends on the fact that Otae smiles and becomes angry and never mentions that it's actually fucking scary to have a stalker. It's okay that Kondo constantly makes unwanted advances at her work and at her home - she just will hit him and smile. He never gets the hint. She transforms her whole home into a castle. He still doesn't get the hint. As long as there are no tears on the face it's apparently fine to ignore all of your girls wishes. Only sadness is acceptable as a deterrent. If tae became scared or sad it wouldn't be funny anymore. Thank got she's always strong.

This applies to other cases too: The underwear thief for example can only be funny because Tae gets angry and doesn't mention how violating it is to have your underwear stolen. Tae smiles and she smiles and she smiles. And so the status quo can remain.

Kyubey is misguided but she's also correct. There is noone with whom Otae can be weak. It's just that through her samurai bullshit she's forcing Otae once again to be strong.

And so the refutation of kyubey feels hollow. It feels like a story bending backwards to once again protect the feelings of it's male protagonists. Of course Tae wants to return. Of course Tae is happy. Of course Kyubey is wrong. Otae just feels guilty. Why would she ever want to leave.

I usually don't have a problem with the more problematic aspects of Gintama. Hell Kondos stalking is really funny and his interactions with Otae usually bring a smile to my face. But it really grinds my gears when Kyubey is suddenly criticised for something Kondo tries to do the whole time - just Otae likes Kyubey enough (even if it's not romantic love) that it makes her weak instead of angry.

My personal headcanon is that while Raine was a teacher for the Bards Coven, one of their students died protesting against the Emperor.

Like, student riots have always been a thing and they have always been very deadly (for the students). So it wouldnt be surprising that in a dictatorship like Belos' the student body found somethings to complain about: like only being able to study one type of magic. Ergo: protest! Ergo: repression.

And I think Raine harbors a lot of survivor's guilt because of that, wishing that they could have helped somehow.

So when they found this three young bards figthing against the emperor, they couldnt help but see history repeating itself again.

But of course "dont fight" doesnt work (they've tried that with their students). So they change tatics and go with: I'll fight with you.

BACKSTORY : He's father is one of the most powerful vampire lord but also one of the most ambitious and craziest ones. He had an idea of building an army of dhampir that would help him conquer more territory without having to worry about sunlight.

To accomplish this mad project he kidnapped a lots of women all over the country to have as many children as possible. The thing is, Dhampir are hard to "produce" and the women who didn't had one at their third child were killed or transformed into vampires spawn.

This is were the life of Victor start, second child of human woman farmer. The few dhampir kids were teach how to figth by the best henchmens of the vampir lord.

Every mistakes was severely punished and if one of them dare to speak up or worse to deceive their father, they would be chained into the darkest cell of the castle with only rats and spiders for food. Victor's mother tried her best to protect him and raised him with the knowledge that there's more to this world than this. When a dhampir turned 18 the vampire lord make them passes a ritual for them to prove their loyalty to him and officially joined his "glorious army".

With Victor, quickly approaching this age his mother elaborate an escape plan. They managed to get outside the castle but were quickly spotted by some vampire spawns. They ran as fast as they could but were ultimately catch by the spawns. The mother sacrifice herself to buy time for her son.

Victor made it to a human village but was to afraid to approach other people due to his vampire features. He stayed on streets stealing left and right and going town to town. When he became a bit older he heard a rumor that dhampir were excellent monsters hunters (especially vampires), he made profits of those rumors and he finally got enough money to pay for a tavern even he was still very poor.

Now to resist his bloodthirst he drink alcohol to help the lack of blood drinking. He is a very chill person if you don't harm him, and can genuinely be a good friend. He tries to not get to attached to people because he can't handle loss. He's still hunted by his past to this day.

I mean, once I asked a girl that was talking to my friend what her fav Disney movie was and she said Frozen, immediately, my friend goes and says confidently “Frozen isn’t Disney”. Another time that same friend pulled out his agenda that had stickers of Cheshire Cat, specifically the live action one, and I said “ Alice’s cat!” Bc I knew he wouldn’t know how was the cat called, and he said “ no, he isn’t.” (I think he had the stickers bc of k-pop perhaps?) and he said “if he’s from Alice in wonderland, then what’s his name? Hm.” And I said to him Cheshire Cat which was the correct answer BC ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS ONE OF MY FAV MOVIES and he was like “oh”

I have a lot more but it will always be funny when my friends will say confidently that a song they put once in school for like 5 sec (It was how far I’ll go from Moana) and she was saying “What are you saying, that song was from Frozen”. AS IF SHE DIDNT KNEW WITH WHO WAS SHE TALKING. IN AN ENGLISH CAMPUS WE DID TOGETHER AT THE END OF EVERY WEEK THEY GAVE A CERTIFICATE THAT MEANT NOTHING THAT SAID A QUALITY OF YOURS. MY CERTIFICATE LITERALLY SAID “HAVING A GREAT ENGLISH LEVEL AND BEING AN EXPERT IN DISNEY” I. LESS THAN A WEEK THEY COULD TELL HOW MUCH I KNEW ABOUT DISNEY. AND THEY WILL TRY TO FIGTH ME OVER IF A SONG IS FROM MOANA OR FROZEN
