It’s very likely that Morro and Euphrasia are the only elemental masters of wind, or that they are the only two elemental masters of wind that have been heard of in the universe itself.
We have no idea who Morro’s parents are, as he was an orphan, and Euphrasia got her powers through the merge.
‘But Wu could know?’ No he does not, at least from the knowledge we have so far (the very limited amount)
Wu, when telling the story of Morro to the ninja in season 5, said the key phrase ‘He had a control over the wind I had never seen before’ implying that he-and therefore Garmadon (and possibly even the First spinjitzu master)- had never seen an individual control the wind before. They had never seen an elemental master of wind before.
Now it could be due to three reasons, A) Morro is indeed the very first ever elemental master of wind, there are no others before him, B) that all the elemental masters of wind hid away from the public eye, leading to no one ever knowing who they are, or C) there has been elemental masters of wind, but none of them were even aware of their power.
Did I only finally write this all down in a post because of someone’s tags on a reblog of that post I made about Chen possibly being Morro’s dad? Yes, yes I did. If that dumb theory of mine WAS true, it’s very likely no one- including Chen- had an idea that this woman he slept with before meeting Skylor’s mum was an elemental master. Either that or she was lowkey just a random women (like one of his servants) and Chen told her to throw baby Morro out, and she did, neither of them knowing that he would become the first elemental master of wind.
To like add on to all of this, the elemental alliance always had a master of water, and each generation seems to have had an elemental master of water but never wind, and during the Wojira season no one even mentioned a possible new elemental master of wind being in danger or helping them either, AND the element of wind stayed with Morro for what we can assume to be many decades, despite the fact of him being dead, and then found a new master not when they were a child or through blood relations, but because they chose a random pre-teen/kid during the merge.
Maybe it’s just the element of wind trying to show how it is indeed very different to all the other elements in function, even water. Wind is an ever changing element and doesn’t follow anyone, only its own will.
This is a whole mess of a theory but I hope you get it

Of Wind and Earth Part 4
The Ball Part 2
Cole x Reader
-------------------------------------------------
An hour had passed since the ball started.
People were dancing, socializing, eating, and laughing, but not y/n. Vania told her to stay on the balcony until it was time for the announcement, and it was almost time.
Y/n was shaking.
What if everything went wrong? What if people didn't take this well, and she had to go into hiding again? She didn't want to have to hide again. She liked her new friends. She didn't want to leave them.
"You doing all right?" A voice asked, snapping y/n out of her thoughts.
Y/n looked up from her sweaty palms, and saw Cole standing there. He looked into her eyes, waiting for an answer.
Y/n opened her mouth, but before she could say anything she burst into tears.
Cole was immediately at her side.
"I…" Y/n started.
"You're afraid that they'll never accept you. That you'll have to go back into hiding again. You're afraid of putting us in danger's way for your sake, and… above all you're afraid of proving them right," Cole stated.
Y/n looked into Cole's eyes completely shocked. It was as if he had read her like a book. They hadn't seen each other since they had arrived at Shintaro, but one thing y/n had noticed about him is that he always seemed to know how she was feeling.
Before y/n could open her mouth, Cole spoke again, "I know the past few years haven't been easy for you. You had to give up everything you loved to protect the ones you love. I know what it's like to be in a hopeless situation where you feel like no matter what you do, you'll never win, but you don't have to hide anymore y/n. You have us now, and you don't have to worry about putting us in danger. We willingly choose to put ourselves in danger almost on a daily basis. It's all part of being a ninja, and if you join us, you'll protect others the way we want to protect you. You're not alone anymore! And you're nothing like Morro. You're sweet, caring, and want what's best for others, just like any good person should. They'll all warm up to you eventually. You just have to show them who you really are."
Y/n blushed at the compliments Cole had given her. Why did he care so much?
"How… how do you know for sure that I won't end up exactly like my uncle did?" She sniffled.
"Because you don't seem to have the same thirst for power that he did," Cole responded.
"The wind blows both ways, Cole…" Y/n said.
"What do you mean?" Cole questioned.
"I control the wind.. but the wind can become so strong that it controls me. Sometimes it feels as if my powers are not my own and.. if I never learn to tame it…"
"I always believed Morro struggled with his powers in some way but could never quite put it into words," Wu said.
The two jumped not realizing Master Wu had been there.
"But if you claim your powers aren't tame," Wu continued. "Why did you never attack the hunters?"
"Huh?"
"It's never once been reported that anyone who has gone looking for you has ever been injured by your hand," Wu explained. "You had the opportunity to force them away. Why didn't you?"
Y/n pondered for a moment, then answered, "Because they're all just like me… People, probably with families, hoping to go back home and return to the ones they love."
"See! You could have gotten rid of them all, but you didn't. You have a good heart y/n," Cole said, wiping a tear from y/n's eye. "Your power doesn't define you; your uncle doesn't define you; all those people's opinions don't define you. Only you can determine who you'll be and what you'll do with the power you've been given."
"Why do you have so much faith in me?" Y/n asked.
"Well, you did kind of save me, and you've been nothing but nice ever since we brought you here. How could I not?," Cole answered.
"You may have the power of one who was once evil, y/n, but I have faith that you will be a great ninja someday and prove yourself worthy of their trust," Wu concluded as he walked back into the ballroom.
Cole took y/n's hand in his own.
"Now come on, let's show them the real y/n!" Cole said with a smile.
Y/n wiped the last tear from her eye and smiled back. She allowed Cole to lead her to the doors of the ballroom, but before they reached the door, y/n stopped.
"Cole…" she said timidly.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you"
-------------------------------------------------
Standing atop the ballroom's stairs, Y/n looked down to see all the people dancing and laughing, hoping that they would stay that way even after Vania made the announcement.
Cole gave her hand a small squeeze.
"Remember. You've got this," he reminded her.
Y/n smiled and gave a curt nod.
As they both descended the stairs, y/n started to think. It was strange… It had been awhile since anyone had been this nice to her. Cole was so sweet. She had to wonder if he was always this way.
She had to admit the gentleness he treated her with gave her butterflies, and the fact that he was now holding her hand didn't help. She hoped no one would notice the blush on her face.
Wait-
She didn't have a crush on him right? Is that what this was? She couldn't like someone she's barely met, could she?
"Y/n? Hello, earth to Y/n?" Vania said, snapping y/n out of her thoughts.
"Sorry… I was thinking," Y/n explained.
"It's fine," Vania answered. "But I'm about to give the speech, so try not to zone out again!"
Y/n giggled nervously, "I'll try not to."
Vania walked toward her throne. Y/n was about to follow her but then looked down and blushed when she realized her and Cole's hands were still intertwined.
"Uh… Cole?" She asked shyly.
Cole looked down as well. When he noticed they were still holding hands Vania's words went through his head.
Y/n is totally your type! …I'm sure she'd love a big strong man to take care of her!
Cole blushed and quickly let go.
"Oh, uh, sor-sorry, Y/n!"
"It's fine," she said timidly.
They stood there awkwardly for a moment before Y/n realized she was supposed to be near Vania. Without saying a word, she quickly walked toward Vania's throne.
Cole face-palmed.
Great job, Genius! He thought. I probably weirded her out! What in the world is happening to me? Stop thinking about what Vania said.
Once y/n reached Vania, Vania smiled and gave her a reassuring nod before starting her speech.
"Citizens of Shintaro and of lands beyond, thank you for coming to this incredibly important gathering. There is an elemental master here among us who has suffered great injustice due to the acts of her predecessor. We have gathered here today to show the world that she is not a monster as everyone believes and to accept her as she is. Shintaro welcomes her with open arms, and I decree that if anyone tries to hunt her within our borders, they will be held accountable. My fellow leaders, I hope you will pass the same law. We must take a stand for this innocent girl who has been hunted so long. Ladies and gentlemen, may I represent: y/n."
Y/n cautiously took a step forward, wary of the many eyes watching her. Some people applauded, others stayed quiet.
The distinguished leaders seemed to be discussing their thoughts. Some scoffed as others considered the possibility of accepting her, but none of them felt as though they could fully trust her.
Cole's voice rang through y/n's head.
You just have to show them who you really are.
"I...," y/n hesitated before speaking loudly and firmly. "I am a person just as much as any of you are. I am not out for power. All I want is to live my life freely. I want to be able to return to my family and tell them how much I love them without putting their lives in danger. I want to be more than prey for a bounty hunter."
Y/n's voice was beginning to shake as she held back her tears. She didn't want to go back to that life of always playing cat and mouse.
Cole felt the urge to run over to her. He wanted to protect her from all the judging eyes, but he knew she had to do this. This was a big step for her, and he was proud of her for finally taking a stand.
"I know you all think I'm a danger. I've been considered a deviant to society for so long that even I began to believe that I was a danger, but the truth of it is, I never want to harm anyone. I don't even want to entertain the idea of being anything like Morro… I no longer want to live in fear because people think I am exactly as he was. I am more than his evil acts. So please..." Y/n pleaded. "Please let me return to being able to live a normal life. To live life and grow old with the people I love... Just like anyone else should... Please..."
At first... the room was silent. A tear or two rolled down y/n's face. Her ears began to ring as everyone stared at her. Had she made a mistake? Would they not accept her? Should she not have said anything?
Then many people began to clap. A few of the dignitaries rolled their eyes and turned their noses up as they began to leave, but the ones that stayed began discussing again, seeming to agree.
"I don't know about any of my fellow leaders, but I believe that you speak the truth, Miss Y/n. You will have a safe place in the Cloud Kingdom," one dignitary assured.
"And in Ninjago City," said another.
Many more of the dignified guests gave their approval and well wishes to Y/n.
Cole stood there grinning like an idiot. He was so proud of her. She was finally going to be safe… for the most part at least.
Great job, Y/n…
He thought to himself.
While everyone acknowledged y/n and the leaders from other places, no one noticed the people slowly making their way towards the throne. Twelve people surrounded the throne so there was no escape. Multiple others barred and guarded the doors so no one else could escape.
Suddenly, P.I.X.A.L. spoke up on everyone's communicators.
"Ninja, we have a problem."
Just then, the ringleader of the group spoke to grab everyone's attention.
"Well, that was a mighty fine touching speech you just gave there, y/n, but I'm afraid no one is leaving here until I get my bounty."
"Y/n, watch out!" Cole cried out.
Then there was a loud bang, and it all went dark.

A/n: Hey, guys! How long has it been? Like- a year? Good news! My writer's block has finally vanished (thank Super Paper Mario for that). I seriously thought my writing days were over, but I finally feel inspired again! I know this was a bit shorter than the last one, but I need to get back into the rhythm of writing once more. I hope this was at least semi-decent. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!  Have a great day/night! <3333

Okay I am loving your takes so much while I am not a huge fan of Misako and Wu what you said made me think about a few things I'm still not a fan of them buuuut I don't think I dislike Misako as much and I also agreed with your take with the whole Nya Cole Jay thing anyways that's besides the point!!! How would Wu and the rest of the family Garmadon Misako & Lloyd react to Morro liking Kai?
Thank you for saying that, I greatly appreciate it! I get that Wusako isn't everyone's cup of tea, so no worries fam! I haven't been able to really explain my "takes" on a lot of the canon ships before, so it's nice to know my thoughts are being well received lol
NOW AS FOR THE DESTINYSHIPPING MOTHERFUCKERS -
Okay if you're a regular on my blog you probably know I have a million different ways that Destiny can become canon. Beyond that, there's a mullion different ways Morro actually joins the team in the first place. Morro takes Wu's hand. Morro comes back on the day of the Departed. Morro never actually leaves Wu's monastery (but we're ignoring that one for the sake of Destiny)
It's no secret that Kai probably hates Morro the most. He was the most relentless when it came to fighting him, trying to get Lloyd back, et cetera. Even during the Day of the Departed, he's the only one other than Lloyd who actually addresses him, ready to fight. So naturally, when setting up Destiny as a couple, you need to get over that barrier.
Morro joining the team under any circumstances is weird. One, he and Lloyd obviously aren't going to get along. Two, he might not even want to be a ninja. Three, he may not even fit into the group at all. Because of the way the characters are written, I think that if Wu gave Morro the chance of redemption, and Morro actually took it, the team would accept it and him. They stood down when Wu told them to, so it's not unrealistic that they'd trust him - after some protesting - that Morro wouldn't hurt them.
Except for Kai. Kai didn't trust Garmadon in season one, and that was Lloyd's father. Why would he ever trust Morro? Eventually everyone moves past not trusting Morro, if only because they're so annoyed by him and Kai fighting all the time. Even Lloyd I think would want Kai to give Morro a chance. It wouldn't be until either they're united against a common enemy, or until they're forced to see each other beyond their surface level traits, that they'd even be friends. However, I think that the second both Kai and Morro get past their animosity, they're bound to get together. Completely inseparable.
As for the reactions? WELL BABY LET ME TELL YOU -
Wu: He's extremely grateful that they've stopped fighting. Wu will never stop seeing Morro as a son either, so he's happy that he's giving himself the chance to be truly happy with someone. Of course, he gives Kai the stereotypical threat of "you hurt my son I hurt your face" but he's very supportive
Garmadon: Depending on which Garmadon we're talking about here. Evil Garmadon couldn't care less, he's not involved with their teenage shenanigans. Good Garmadon, however, would be concerned. I think he'd want to treat with Morro with respect, given that he's Wu's adopted child, but Morro still hurt his baby. He's always going to be biased against him. Not that Kai is Garmadon's favorite or anything, but he's still a little protective. Regardless, he doesn't voice his concerns to either of them, instead showing support, even if he's skeptical of their pairing.
Misako: I feel like she'd be in the same boat as Wu - relieved that they're not fighting, and that they're both happy. Misako isn't super close with either boy, so she's not as protective, but they're both part of her family, and she's always glad to see people overcoming their differences.
Lloyd: Now Lloyd is the trickiest, because he can either be their biggest cheerleader, or their biggest opposer. It depends on whether or not Lloyd's actually forgiven Morro, how he'll react. If he has, then sure enough he was right with Wu, trying to encourage Kai to stop picking fights, and was glad to find out they actually care about each other. If he hasn't forgiven Morro, however, then it's gonna be all too easy for him to get reasonably upset. Kai is supposed to be his brother - to protect him, and he goes and starts kissing the ghost that forced him to fight his friends??? Lloyd would get bitter fast in that case, and though he'd try to keep his feelings out of the fight, he'd slip up occasionally, and until he resolved things with both Kai and Morro, it would cost the team a lot. Lloyd's understanding and kindness is underestimated a lot; he tries to see the best in even the worst of people, and if you make an effort to do the right thing, he'll notice it. That being said, this is still the same kid who opened three serpentine tombs because he couldn't have some candy. Lloyd's ability to hold a grudge is strong, even turning him against his father at one point, but in the end he always comes around when he realizes the cost of his anger and acting on it isn't worth the consequences

Lloyd Garmadon
Gender
Intersex he/they/she
They may look and sound mainly like a boy but everyone has always noticed they can look very feminine at times almost like they could be a girl. They were born with a uterus and have periods like a girl. A lot of the ways that their body has grown like their muscles almost resemble how a girls body is though they try to hide it.
Ever since their time at school they have been uncomfortable talking about their gender. They went to an all boy school, and when the other kids figured out they where intersex they were heavily bullied for being "part girl." The kids were extremely misogynistic towards them. After that though they wanted to experiment with their more feminine side they never felt like they could. They asked their parents and uncle Wu to not tell the other ninja and to just say they were a boy. Their friends and everyone they went to school with also know.
After Harumi and Sally discovered their music and figured out about their online persona they told them. They were both extremely supportive and helped them experiment with their more feminine side and self expression.
Species
Dragon, oni, human
They have golden horns, fangs, furry ears, and a tail with a fur tip. They have can have wings but they perfer to hide them due to them getting in the way. Depending on their emotions their oni and dragon features can pop up on their own. If they are extremely relaxed their ears might pop up, and if their excited then their tail might pop out wagging furiously. If their angry their fangs and horns migh show, and if their uncomfortable or scared their wings might pop up to cover them.
Everyone knows they can have these features, just not how hard it is for them to control them at times. Just like with their gender Harumi and Sally help them express these sides of them. They feel more themselves when they are in this form, but are still too uncomfortable to show it off.
Mental health and dark magic TW-mental health, self harm, and suicidal thoughts
Great Devourer venom
(I always found it weird that the venom that flowed through Garmadon's veins didn't transfer to Lloyd so...)
Lloyd has bipolar and schizophrenia symptoms due to the venom that transferred to them. They can dissociate from reality and watch through their eyes as they do something and have thoughts that they shouldn't or don't want to about hurting others. This often makes them scared of themself and is the reason why they tend to be quiet. They also tend to isolate themself and hurt themself in the fear of hurting others. They think that hurting themself will lower their desire to hurt others and that they shouldn't be alive in fear that they might not be able to stop themself one day.
Though they have gotten better at controlling it since they were younger they are still scared of what happened back then. They almost killed their friends multiple times. One time them and Brad were racing up a tree and right as Brad got to the top they dissociated. They ended up breaking the branch from underneath him and he fell. He could have died if he landed wrong, but luckily he just broke his arm. Lloyd still fears what could have happened and still wont forgive themself to this day.
Depression and PTSD
They still feel the shame of the abandonment of both of their parents when they were younger though they have forgiven both of their parents. They forgive Misako less than they do Garmadon. They have formed a bit of a more distant relationship with their mother since she still isn't really there. With their dad on the other hand they can see that he is trying and is thankful for his efforts. Though at times he can be jumpy and tense with him, they have mostly fully forgiven him for everything. Garmadon knows about them trying to experiment with their self expression and is extremly supportive along with Vinny.
He tends to have a lot of nightmares about loosing people. Especially his parents. He also has nightmares having to do with the bullying they resived back in school. After these they tend to start working themself extremely hard at training or having really bad body image. They often feel like they have to be the best all the time due to being the leader of the ninja. They don't like taking breaks though they get forced into them by their friends and family.
I'll probably put some more in a drawn out character sheet later, but this is just easier to type out. I'll link to the character sheet when I have it done. Sometimes I feel like I'm putting way too much effort into this au but i am constantly day dreaming about it and its really fun for me lol.
Edit- Sexuallity
Cannot belive i forgot to say they are demisexual pansexual. T-T

this is why i have an au for him because this is exactly what i see
like i always think of that scene when Wu is talking about him when he found Morro and kid Morro just looks up at him with such a frightened expression... He only ever wanted to make Wu proud... this poor kid had nothing. He went from having nothing to finally maybe having a parental figure who could care for him (and then i think about how someone on tumblr pointed out that even in Wu's training style he felt Morro at a distance) and that in my opinion is what made Morro fight harder.
Still don't get it? Imagine the only person who has even shown you kindness tells you you're special. You're someone who's been written about in a prophecy, you're a chosen one, and you're destined to save the world. Hearing that from the mouth of the only person who's ever cared about you makes you want to prove you're worthy, and while you might not believe you ARE worthy, he thinks you are. So you're constantly doing things to prove you are. Including some of the very cocky things Morro did as a child. You get more special treatment from him because he thinks you're special. You fight harder to be better and to earn more praise. Win win situation.
But then the day comes where it's time to find out if you really ARE the destined Green Ninja. You're anxious, but excited. But then the Golden Weapons don't react to you. Why aren't they reacting? No, no, Wu's always right, Wu knows what he's doing... right? You are the Green Ninja right? Wu told you so, and Wu's never wrong, right? Right...? Was the ritual wrong? Yes, surely that was it. But he looks at you with such disappointment it breaks you in half. You're so confused, so upset... so... angry. You have to be the Green Ninja, it's the only way you're worth anything to Wu. You have to fix this, you have to make this right, something is wrong with the universe. And even if deep down you know it's nothing wrong with the universe but rather you're just not the Green Ninja, you can't accept it, because that means you can't be special to the one who you care about most in the world. You know no matter what the Green Ninja will always matter more to him than you.
So you storm off, you yell, you scream. The universe is broken, it's not you. And you will do ANYTHING to prove you are the person he wants you to be, the person he told you you were. You have to fit in that mold if it means entirely rebuilding yourself piece by god damn piece. So much so it kills you. Literally. It literally kills you in your attempt to become something you could not.
And then you see Lloyd for the first time. After years and years of waiting and plotting for the right time. You began to have conflicting feelings for Wu sometime before you died, why would he lie to you? Why couldn't you just be special to him? He was the closest thing to a father or uncle you had and it was all taken away because you couldn't be who he wanted you to be. But it all comes flooding back the moment you set sights on Lloyd... who has everything you ever wanted, who is everything you always wanted to be, and who matters so very much to Wu in ways you could not.
You hate him. You hate that you want to be him. It tears you up inside. But just like when you were alive, you need him to love you... even if it means being a villain to finally obtain the powers and status for him to. And then comes the very last moment when you know you fucked everything up, you knew it from the beginning. Wu tells you that it's not too late, that you can be saved, but you see it in his old eyes. You hear it in his words. He did care. All this time he did. But he knew he could not save you if you didn't want to be from this never ending spiral of needing to be wanted... and so you let go, passing him the very thing that let you come back into the world.
"You cannot save those who do not want to be saved... Goodbye, sensei."
And then comes DOTD which to me is just... Morro healing his inner child by getting to spar with Wu one last time. He's still a little cocky, but it's light hearted now. He doesn't need Wu's praise anymore... he's finally healing and learning how to be his own person, or rather, ghost without him.

One thing I need the fandom to drop when it comes to Wu is them thinking he never talks about the ninja’s parents to them. It was never his information to disclose to Jay that he was adopted if he was even aware of that, it was up to Ed and Edna. If Jay’s mom had to make the tough decision of leaving her child behind and was never seen or heard from again despite being married to a movie star I don’t think she would’ve ran up the mountain to tell the Bros what just happened. I’m 75% sure he hardly even knew Dr. Julien or that Zane was a robot (poor guy probably couldn’t comprehend that robots could exist and be so human). Somewhere in the comics he holds a baby Cole and he was good friends with Lilly. Cole would’ve been surprised or confused when in S13 Wu says she never had a necklace like, “What do you mean? You knew my mother?” I feel at some point Cole either realizes he knows Wu from his childhood or Wu’s cryptically like “I remember you used to fight your parents on bedtimes constantly” and giggles
(Disclaimer: this is all my opinion, if anyone reading this doesn’t like Wu or disagrees with me ur valid to do so. Love u all really)
Yeah I’ve had a bit of time to think over the “Wu didn’t tell the ninja about their parents” and my blanket statement response would just be Wu couldn’t have told the ninja about their parents before their parents have even been conceptualised as characters.
The reason the ninja are continuously interesting for this many seasons is partially because their backstories weren’t told right at the beginning and they have room to develop and grow. Their parents characters are only introduced when it’s relevant to the plot, and are only canonically conceptualised right up to the season they get released. Which does make sense considering how many times the show was going to end. There’s no point planning seasons ahead of time if you aren’t sure those seasons will exist, otherwise you end up with unfinished and unsatisfying story arcs. The price of this is that the retcons contradict either Wu’s integrity or knowledge. Or do they?
Yeah I agree 100% with you on Jay’s mother. Wu probably doesn’t even know what happened to her, and considering what Nya said in s5, that elemental powers can skip generations, Wu may not have been sure Jay was her child. But even if he was, if Ed and Edna hadn’t told Jay, then it’s not really up to Wu, or at least he shouldn’t be held accountable more than Ed and Edna.
With Cole, I don’t think Wu really withheld any information about Lilly. I haven’t seen anyone debate this yet so maybe Cole doesn’t apply lol, but yeah I think Wu has been transparent about her probably. I mean considering how Wu and Cole were close, and Cole told Wu about her death as seen in s8/9 in his flashback. I haven’t seen the comics so idk how true this is (I don’t really consider the comics truly canon anyways) but I sometimes hc that Lilly kept her identity as master of earth from her family as sort of a way of dividing her work and home life, which is why Cole’s dad was originally against him being a ninja.
I also think that Wu knew Dr Julien (not very well) but didn’t know he died or got kidnapped afterwards and when he discovered Zane as a loner, and realised he didn’t remember, Wu told him that Zane had a family and that they’d look for him (which was a fruitless search bc dr Julien was at a lighthouse at sea) BECAUSE LOOK
Tumblr media
EPISODE 2 of Ninjago and this is my favourite scene ever look look lok at this
…anyways. I think this argument is strongest with Kai and Nya’s parents. In my personal opinion I still think maybe they didn’t want Wu to tell them due to them feeling as if their parents abandoned them on purpose? Idk that’s just a theory based on how quick Kai was to turn on his dad and how much beef Nya had with her mum. Although I still think that Wu offscreen told the siblings what he knew if they asked, or that he’d make off hand comments about how cool their parents were (they were friends). Or maybe he didn’t out of fear of pressuring them. I’d feel like he’d relate considering his own father. Maybe that’s the whole reason why he didn’t tell Nya about her water powers. Because she was doing so well as a samurai and didn’t want her to live through that pressure.
Idk I think there are so many cool options when trying to make sense of Wu that I feel like it’s a shame no one sees that potential. On that note, thanks anon now I have generated more ideas about Wu and I really want to make something out of them now :P

Rewatching Ninjago
(with no context other than the episode)
The Tournament of Elements episode 1-2
I don't think we give Jay enough credit for his showmanship from his game show to prime empire.
Wondering if he built the obstacles for his game show
“I'm a ninja. And your wearing makeup.” damn Lloyd, let him do what makes him happy
Why is cole shirtless with an axe cutting lumber that is so unsafe my guy. I get that you wanna show off your abs but still.
It's sad that Jay and Cole got sick of each other bc of smth silly.
Jay was a lot angrier when he mentioned he didn't wanna be on a team with Cole. Cole was a lot, sadder. Idk, smth I noticed.
Nickname 1: green machine
Poor Cole he just wants to be some guy. Later on when the ninja get famous he probably hates that.
I hate Kais fighting ring costume sm.
“It should've been me, not Zane.” shit. Thats a lot of baggage to unpack. Kais need to carry burdens, like being the green ninja and depending on himself, is a real older brother trait I see in him.
How long has it been for Zane statue to already have moss growing on it....
His hawk is still there 🥺
Lloyd really just wants his family back. I've talked about this before but I truly think Lloyd just wants to be around his loved ones and not be alone. Sad how it always seems like he's the one who ends up alone, even now.
The noodle shop was probably the exact moment the ninjago writers decided to give cole the classic ‘i love food’ trait that every character in a slightly comedic show has.
Cole and Kai worked so well as a team here love them sm. Look at them. “I would be careful if I were you, he's not great when he's hangry.” Love them
Cole not knowing fortune cookies have fortunes inside and probably eating paper all his life is fucking hilarious to me
The fact that they can get together after months and still act and joke as if nothing happened. True friendship.
Lloyd is so terrible at lying bless him
Kai after seeing everyones wearing regular clothes: See! I told you wearing our ninja suits was a bad idea.
Hes just like me fr
I like their duffel bags that have their symbols on them.
I'll always be salty that their redesigns don't have their of symbols. It was a nice touch. Especially since they used it once like the Batman signal in the sky.
Garmadon: no room? (kicks a fucking guy off the boat) now theres room.
Best decision to have Garmadon as the main ‘sensei’ in this season. Hes more straightforward than wu and just a better character in general i think writing wise.
What even happens to all the elemental masters after this season. Do they just live their lives? Do we ever see them again?
SEE. THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. everytime one of the ninja do something really cool, the other ninjas just fall in love for a second and its great
Why does cole just have his name on the back of his ninja suit doesnt that defeat the whole purpose of the mask and being stealthy 😭
Garmadon: i swore to never return…
Jay: you know, you should never swear. Its a sign of weak verbal skills.
HFJSJTHSNSFJJSNR
Jay probably refuses to swear and says stuff like
Jay: oh fiddlesticks, that really ruffles my feathers
Kai crying: Please just say fuck
Hes just like his parents
Kai (pushes his friends aside): ladies first
He probably bashes on Jay for being a simp and then goes and does this shit bfjsbtjdnr
Master chen must be DECADEs old if he was garmadons sensei. Do the elemental masters has some kind of longer lifespan????
Pretty kabuki woman come out:
Cole: yeah, whatever they are, i don’t like them.
Be who you aaaare for your priiiide
Garmadon: whatever you do. Dont lose focus.
Kai: WHATD HE SAY????
Jay: SOMETHING ABOUT MUCUS.
“Hey! Im kai the master of fire.”
“Im skyler, master of… wouldnt you like to know.”
HFNSJRNJS
love her
They tailored the rooms to all the ninjas wants and desires so im not surprised that lloyds room is more ‘homey’ than the rest
HFNSIFNSJNR WHY DID THIS GUY JUST ATTACK JAY IN HIS BATHROOM HE WAS FULL ASS NAKED DUDE
Nickname 2: hot tamale
I love cole in this he was just so confused and chill.
he just waltzed to the jade blade with a full stomach, almost vomited from spinjitzu, got a stomache cramp, whined when the others took the jade blade from him, gave up, and just found another random blade. Love him sm.
No matter how much Jay says he hates cole i wont forget how happy he was when he saw that cole made it with the jade blade.
The ninja are just good people in general
Kai hated the guy but still felt immense guilt when he fell through the trapped door
Invisible guy: can i sit here :D
Jay: Scram! I can still see you and this is a private conversation!
Cole: jay that was really mean 🙁🤨
thats how he normally acts Cole.
THE WAY KAI JUSY PUSHES JAY OFF HIS BALCONY 😭
Theyre really pushing this ‘kais hot and warm’ ‘skylers cold and chilly’ when zanes right there
Jay: you just had to leave me hanging huh romeo.
Jay can be so funny
Cole: god this bed is so soft its amazing! Mines made of rocks! What a crock(Bed flips showing a secret entrance) uh GUYS!
Kai: COLE I GET IT, YOU LIKE MY BED 🙄😠
Cant believe Jay and Kai are peeping toms /j
I would immediately be Cole, laughing my ass off if i learned my friend had a crush on someone they didn’t know they were related to 💀
My favorite thing about Jay is that he’ll get excited about something with the enemy if its even remotely cool. Even if its to hinder/defeat the ninja themselves.
Chen (steals metal mans powers)
And this is why you read the terms and conditions people.

Everything Right/Wrong with Ninjago “Rise of the Serpentine” E13: Day of the Great Devourer
Ayyyyyy, last episode of season 1! ⚠️From here on out, there will be a change to the posting schedule: posts every Tuesday instead of Tues and Fri. ⚠️Disclaimers: Show owned by LEGO. This is not a professional review/critique - it’s mainly intended for comedy.
Reblog, comment, like and/or follow for more!
- Intro ✅
- Many events in the first scene of this episode play out differently than they did in the last scene of the previous episode. ❌
- “Maybe if we stand perfectly still…” Jay says this and then is the first one to run ❌
- Lloyd stands on not one, but two buckets to look through the window ✅
- “Never tell me the odds!” Star Wars reference? ✅
- Kai grabs and throw the teapot off the ship instead of, ya know, the table it’s sitting on?❌
- If objects in mirror are closer than they appear, then they’d all definitely be dead rn ❌
- The way they all seem more upset about losing the bounty than Wu💀✅
- Also, Lloyd wipes his eyes and now my day is ruined ❌
- “All that action… makes you so thirsty.” Good to know Kai has normal reactions to the end of the world ❌
- “But [Wu’s] not here anymore…” Zane putting his arm around Lloyd to comfort him ✅
- “Sensei once told me it’s not the size of the ninja in the fight, but the size of the fight in the ninja!” He did? When did this happen?? ❌
- “It’s not like we have an extra sacred flute laying around to charm it, or wait! How about one of our awesome dragons… what about our golden weapons?…” Everything Jay mentions actually helps fight the Devourer, and in the exact order he mentions it too. ✅
- “You thinking what I’m thinking?” “Probably not but go ahead.” ✅
- Lloyd displays the struggles of every short person ever. I feel your pain, buddy ✅
- “You ninja are always sneaking around,” They’re rarely ever sneaking around, actually❌
- Wouldn’t just hearing the flute be enough to hurt the Devourer? Why do they need to do… whatever this is? ❌
- “We don’t have any trains entering on track 9” this line mixed with the guy in the subway checking his watch is really funny to me ✅
- Wait, how did the GD get underground? We just saw it moving across the desert ❌
- “But you are not a fool…” I refuse to believe Mystake would ever fear Garmadon ❌
- “Its breath smells worse than Cole’s chili!” “hey!” ✅
- Also, the Devourer is a female snake that is referred to with it/he pronouns so… genderqueer snake? ✅
- So when dragons hit puberty they morph into one? And you thought your puberty was rough…
- “They couldn’t have come at a better time!” They could’ve come before the GD was released but whatever ❌
- Why do the other ninja look to Kai on whether or not they should let Garm have the weapons? ❌
- “Stays in one spot?!? How are we supposed to do that?!?” “Don’t forget: we’re ninja.” What does you being ninja have anything to do with making sure it stays in the same spot? ❌
- Cole’s happy dance ✅
- Why does the GD roar? Sounds more like a dinosaur than a snake tbh ❌
- THE GD’S VENOM SPREAD FAR ENOUGH TO GET TO JOMONOKAI?!?!? HOLY SH- ❌
- “I have a feeling you’ll see your father again soon.” “I know, but that’s what I’m afraid of.” I have a lot of feelings about that line ✅
- “Look at that! [Wu] survived!” Of course he did ❌
- No but you don’t understand this is the first time Lloyd joins the ninja in the “go ninja go” thing- ✅
- It has been 11 years and we still have yet to get an ounce of lore on the Devourer. Seriously, what exactly is it? Are there others like it or is it the only one of its species? How and why was it created? These are things I want to know! ❌
- Obviously, this season isn’t perfect and some moments definitely haven’t aged the best, but you gotta admit that the nostalgia hits well, and there’s usually at least ONE moment that has made some sort of impact on each person in this fandom. ✅
Sentence: Ninjago says trans snake rights

October 1: Torment | Chains | "You promised me."
*
CW: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Death
*
Finally did some Morrotober stuff! Nothing but for my boy right here!
@morrotober
AO3 version: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42058260/chapters/105597894
Timelines are an interesting subject to think about. Like the branches on a tree, or the vines that run to cover every crevice or empty space in the world. It is ever-present, probabilities mixing together to create a new formula or a new universe out of nothing, stars, and galaxies colliding into an impossible mix of awe and horror. A sparkle of something new coming out from an abyss of differing events to one choice, or from a different trademark happening in the background. There are a million timelines within one branch, always fluctuating, multiplying, and being added as it develops. It is a whirlpool of all events being rolled into one, or perhaps, separating into different, new foreign timelines that divert from the main one, the real one. But there is no such thing as reality, or a true timeline from all these other timelines, correct? There is only, simply, a subject and an ending that can always be altered.
So, the subject of alternate timelines, and how they work, is simply whether or not your choices coincide with the best set of ending for you, a plausibility of climbing one tree higher with alternating branches. It is the reason why we are at whatever timeline you are in— you made it.
But why am I talking about timelines?
Oh, simply because that is currently what we are going through when we talk about Morro and his multiple choices throughout his life.
In a different timeline, Wu keeps his mouth shut tight and continues to nurture him until there comes a time he dies before he celebrates his thirtieth birthday, the Curse of the Masters of Wind coming to collect their debt.
In another one, Morro returns to the monastery, feet covered in dirt, face darkened with grime, and eyes filling with tears. Wu rushes to him, his arms as light as a feather as he puts them around the sniveling Morro.
In the most well-known timeline, Morro is cursed, tainted with the evil mark of the Preeminent, drowning in his resentment and anger before defying his own destiny and taking the Realm Crystal to release his master. He dies a watery death, after reflecting upon his own decisions leading to his own ruin, with no regrets of the present, but rather of the past.
And that is when the scripts and writings on Morro’s scroll in the Cloud Kingdom have now halted; the privileged writers who have done nothing but give each and every one of the ninjas and those who around them the worst fortunes imaginable, Morro’s scroll toppled to the ground, before being archived by the monks who did not want to mention the one who defied the concept of destiny that is as primordial as the Oni and Dragon Wars. That is where his scroll stays; collecting dust, the figure of the writing never attempting to rebel against the fate that has been assigned to him.
But, there is another timeline that they have experimented with executing, a timeline that they have stored into other timelines.
The one where Morro wins. Where he plants Lloyd’s head on a pike as a great cloud of curses starts to form over the Realm of Ninjago. Where the ghosts run free across the world, lighting up the world in a sickly green hue. Where pandemonium will forever be eternal in each and every settlement of the people. Where the ninja is nowhere to be found, unable to withstand the Preeminent’s hold over the Realm.
A gruesome fairytale, filled with the most grotesque endings to be told by the spirits and ghosts who wish to tell the tale, of the man that had wanted the green gi so much he broke the barriers of his fate. Of an eldritch entity with a hold over her own realm, wafting the other sixteen with her abysmal, evil aura.
Morro, the ghost, scorned son of Master Wu, the new Green Ninja, should feel the triumph. He’s finally gotten rid of his one true villain, the thorn at his side, the reason why he was never proven as worthy to his own master. The one that keeps on giving him the worst thoughts possible, of never being enough.
Yet, all he could feel when he kills Lloyd with his own two hands, not noticing the way his hands smoke and sting as the red liquid continues to clash with his green corporeal form, was emptiness and a dread pooling into his stomach. All his eyes were focused on is to kill Lloyd Garmadon, as ecstasy continues to drain from within him, his mouth curved to a manic smile.
Because he’s killed Lloyd Garmadon.
Yet, he doesn’t feel quite relieved, or overjoyed, now that he would not share his title with anyone else.
There was just… dread.
Dread has always been a constant companion of his as he traverses the Cursed Realm’s ribcage, a wasteland of discordant dystopia, attracting hungry stares everywhere as if he were prey to be eaten. Knowing that he is being watched by the one entity whom he didn’t very much want to interact with. She was able to sing to his inspiration in his mind and dreams, which is why he is currently here in the first place.
But why does he feel it instead of the crushing weight of happiness overtaking him as he waves the green gi high in the air?
He doesn’t even laugh— he could not even bring himself to lift the corners of his mouth up as the other ghosts take one note of the gi that he is clutching like a lifeline and cheer.
The Preeminent had crooned like an animal as he presents both the Realm Crystal and the bloodied gi, before finally settling onto her final form so that she could plant herself into this realm before moving on to the next one. Morro can only stare emptily, before simply floating in one of the houses that had once been part of the civilization he assisted in destroying. He hears the ear-piercing shrieks of the people, comparable to a dying animal, and the howls of joy that rumble the entire world.
The Preeminent is not very keen on keeping her promises, a fact that he’s known since he was a young ghost. It is especially clear to Morro, who’s seen the inside of her head to note that he was not as favored as he believes he is. If he was, he would have ascended to her head to achieve enlightenment for the dream of becoming the Green Ninja immediately when he had garnered her attention.
After a while (he doesn’t know if it was a few days, months, or even years; the Cursed Realm’s changeless surroundings desensitized him to time), it seems she’s become less interested in Ninjago and sets her sights upon the other realms.
She settles on the Cloud Kingdom first, and Morro doesn't feel a single thing except for relief and satisfaction, as the home of those who have come to write their fates disappear headlong to the abyss one by one, devoured by the Preeminent, never finding another semblance of afterlife that was not the paradise they seek.
Well, except one.
Fenwick falls to his knees in front of the gargantuan Preeminent and Morro, form trembling. Morro wants to laugh, but he's already drained himself of all emotions. “Please, spare me! I have done all you have asked! You have told me that you shall not curse this Realm when I assist you!”
Morro scoffs, "We all know what you're really like, Fenwick. You are nothing but a traitorous weasel."
Fenwick cowers at his statement, before turning to the Preeminent.
The Preeminent takes her time with her words, but Morro knows her answer. It's already been embedded in her head, like a wheel that would not stop spinning.
Then, she croons, the sound of a thousand Cursed souls morphing to make a legitimate sound. He shudders.
Fenwick, her voice tries to be sweet, but with a hundred voices, a woman, a man, and a child mixing together, it was a failed attempt. Fulfilling a promise is only for the Righteous.
The elderly man pales, and Morro takes this as a sign to swing his sword towards the offender of his master’s wrath. The squelch of flesh seizes the quiet realm, and the spray of blood subsequently follows.
Fenwick's head is on the ground now, permanently endowed with a horrified expression. A quell of satisfaction seeps into his veins, even when he has to smell the putrid stench of blood.
It was better to die by his hand than be devoured by the Preeminent.
Hm. The Preeminent hums, the only noise in this now static realm. It was dead, gone. The destiny-makers have all been killed, Cursed, or devoured. I did not think you would enact mercy upon the man who wronged you.
Believe Morro; he wanted this man to suffer, but in the end, he's decided he's caused enough suffering. Even if this man certainly deserves it.
Besides, he has another dream to chase, his own destiny he must fulfill.
The Green gi burns on his clothes.
He turns to look at the Preeminent, eyes empty but excited. "Master, I believe I am now worthy."
Of what? She asks as if she was playing naive. He knows of her tricks by now. He's not falling for it.
"Of obtaining the rank of the Green Ninja." He keeps his impatience and irritation for her out of his voice, moving to a proud stance. "I have not failed you, Mistress of the Cursed Realm."
Yes, indeed you haven't. Then another ear-splitting silence enters the realm. The dread continues to pull on his corporeal form as if he was melting under the pressure.
After a minute of silence, he tries again. "... What's the verdict, Mistress?"
She starts to laugh, and his own ghostly form wavers.
It was the same laugh she had expressed when she made a deal with him, back at the Caves of Despair.
Morro feels cold seep into his veins, like roots searching for ways to quench their thirst.
He feels the wind pick up, a sign that he was utterly horrified.
He's already sealed his fate the day he made a deal with her, but he didn't think she'd break it immediately.
Then, he feels something grip his wrist. With a gasp, he sees the tentacles of the Preeminent coiling on him, as if they are in a rough embrace.
But he knows what this means.
"You— you promised me!" He bellows at the Preeminent, trying to escape the chains when he knows full well there is truly no escaping the entirety of the Realm.
Like I said, Master of Wind, she doesn't address him as the 'rightful Green Ninja' anymore. As if it was a fake title. Fulfilling promises is only for the Righteous.
Morro's desperation starts to show, as he begins to claw at the ground, leaving scratching marks that will mark the day he foolishly trusted the Preeminent’s whims. He should have known this would happen— he was never truly favored, simply only a title that has been given to him by proxy due to how expendable and powerful he was. When he controls the wind, he controls life; something that the Cursed Realm is clearly devoid of, and that is something that his Mistress has always wanted to exploit.
He wants to laugh as his hands go numb, as his own ghostly body gives up on trying to evade his own proper death. The afterlife he has been living until now was simply an augmentation of his own life, except it was less forgiving and harsher than what he had been exposed to.
How absurd of him, to have to completely bow to the Mistress of the Realm in hopes of seeking enlightenment, before he is consumed.
Morro should not have made a deal with an entity that he is aware will never keep her vows straight.
That is his last thought before he is ingested into the Preeminent, feeling his own spirit disintegrate into prompt nothingness as if he had never existed in the first place.

Perspective (Ninjago Kai X Reader) Requested
Tumblr media
Here you are anon! Sorry if it isn't a Ninja you prefer-
Might have some spoilers if you don't know who Misako is.
DEFINITE spoilers to the end of season 2.
"Your ability is powerful. But to gain people's trust you need to break their perspective about you. Some may see your gift as an ability capable of destruction and chaos which makes them fear you. Others, myself included, may see your gift as a way to help make the world a better place. So, sugar or cream?" This. The very words that convinced you to join the Ninjas side and the very words you desperately hold onto during your lowest moments.
It's all about perspective. No matter how many times you've helped the Ninja save the city, some people still don't trust you. Kai especially. The hot head and the "looks" of the team according to him.
He's always been one to jump into action and ask questions later. Always been the type of person to jump to conclusions and hold onto them for dear life.
While he may be the most skeptical of the group, doesn't mean most of the ninja didn't treat you with the same skepticism as Kai.
The only people that seem to trust you these days are Sensei Wu, Misako, Zane, and Lloyd.
Speaking of Misako, you were currently helping her with her latest archeological find while the Ninja were on a mission per her instruction.
"Tiny pickaxe,"
"Got it,"
"Fossil brush,"
"Here ya go,"
"Trowel,"
"Ace of spades, you win," Misako chuckled at the lame joke. You peer over her shoulder while she works.
"What do you think it is?"
"Well, if it's been stuck in the walls of a heavily guarded chamber for thousands of years, it has to either be something valuable, powerful, or both," You hum in acknowledgment before a loud thud echoed the room, making Misako jump and drop the tiny pickaxe. It fell to the floor as the two of you turned to the door to see the Ninja covered in soot and torn clothes.
"YOU! YOU TRICKED US!" Kai yells, storming into the room and pointing an accusing finger towards you.
"Huh?"
"Don't 'huh' us! You know exactly what you did!" Jay chipped in. Zane looked back and forth at his teammates.
"Perhaps it would be wise to freshen up and rest. A near-death experience can-"
"NOT NOW ZANE!" Kai yells. Cole grimaces, inhaling sharply through his teeth before backing out of the room.
"Kai please-"
"HOW CAN YOU ALL BE SO BLIND?! THEY TRICKED US INTO GOING INTO THAT DEATH TRAP AND YOU'RE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN?!" Kai cuts Lloyd off, absolutely furious.
"Kai-"
"No! They PLANNED this! They wanted us to go in blind to get rid of us! They should've never been invited to the team in the first place and stay in their little evil lair! Once a demon, always a demon," The room went completely silent as Lloyd looked at Kai like he was the dumbest person alive.
"I… I'm… going to get some air," You mumbled before swiftly walking past them and onto the deck of the bounty.
"Kai. I get it, you're angry. But that was literally the DUMBEST thing that ever came out of your mouth," Lloyd grumbles.
"Wha-"
"Lloyd is right. Saying someone never changes is inaccurate. Lloyd is a perfect example of this," Zane chips in.
"And Garmadon. Well, he was originally good, then bad, then good again, but the point is he did change. Multiple times!" Jay points out, feeling a tad guilty for snapping at you.
"And Y/N wasn't the one who told us to go there, my mother did," Misako nods.
"He's right. And if I had known how dangerous it was, I wouldn't have sent you. Y/N as well, no matter how much you perceive them as the villain," Kai looked around and realized he was in the wrong and knew what he had to do.
"Fine, I messed up. I'll apologize," Kai grumbles, leaving the room. They then turned their attention to Jay who looked nervous.
"Okay! Fine! I messed up too! I'll go make an apology gift!" He scrambles out of the room while the trio looked at each other proudly.
____________
You leaned on the bounty looking down at Ninjago city. You were contemplating if you should just pack your bags and leave if that's what they want. You didn't even consider joining till Sensei Wu said his piece.
Kai's words were the straw that broke the camel's back. While contemplating, you realized you did very little to help the team. Why did Wu want you again? For your potential?
Nodding to yourself, you turn around to start packing when you see Kai approaching you. You frown upon seeing his conflicted expression.
"Uh… hey?" -_- Really Kai? That's what made you so conflicted. Shaking your head, you begin walking.
"Hey, where are you going?" Kai asks, confused.
"Leaving," You respond curtly, Kai follows you with a raised brow.
"Well, can you at least hear me out?"
"I don't want to hear it," Kai was taken aback by how cold you were being. You're usually friendly and patient with everyone, even if they are skeptical. Kai's guilt started to swallow him whole, he caused this.
"Please?" It was a feeble attempt, one that was said just above a whisper and so upset that you'd think a child said it. You pause and sigh, turning around to face the hothead, a sign for him to get on with it.
"Look, I'm sorry for what I said and I have no excuse for it. It was… out of line..." Kai muttered, looking at his feet.
"Okay," You turn on your heel and continue walking while Kai stares at you in shock.
"Wait, where are you going?!" Kai asks, confused and a little scared.
"I already told you that I'm leaving, for good," Kai's eyes widened in realization, you were leaving the team.
"WHAT?! No, you can't!"
"First you want me to leave then you want me to stay, can't you make up your mind FOR ONCE?!" You snapped, turning to face him with tears brimming around your eyes.
"Hey, I said I was sorry, didn't I?!" Kai snaps back.
"An apology doesn't just fix everything! I'm done! I'm done being treated like I just murdered someone every day, no matter what I do to show that I'm not what people think I am! I'm done being defined by my abilities that I didn't even ask for! I'm done…" You couldn't stop the emotions and the tears from flooding, once you started you couldn't stop. You wipe at your eyes in a feeble attempt to stop the tears while Kai stared, his guilt consumed him and then some.
"Y/N," He called out, gaining your attention. He extended a hand, a small flame erupting from his palm and waving wildly, a symbol of both their current emotions.
"'Perspective is everything.' That's what Wu said. Some may see this fire as a cause for pain, destruction, and chaos. But to others it warms a house on a winter's night, it's a signal to let those know you need help.
It's more than just a little flame. And I should've been seeing you the same way. There are good and bad qualities in every person. I've been obsessing over the bad because of my perspective on you. When I should've been looking at both your good traits and flaws equally.
You said ‘an apology doesn't fix everything,’ right. Well, then what about a thank you? Thank you for being so patient. Thank you for putting up with this for so long even though you didn't deserve it. Thank you for being strong, brave, and kind. Thank you…" Kai trailed off, looking down at the ground in embarrassment while putting out the fire. You stared at him in amazement.
"Ah, that got… long," He muttered. You snicker and then start laughing.
"Th-That's the most thoughtful thing since I got here… and the smartest," You half-joked, earning a playful glare while he smirked.
"Thank you, Kai," He merely shrugged.
"Yeah, yeah. What are friends for?" You perked up at his words.
"I'm your friend?"
"Well, now you are. Only if you want to though," You smiled.
"I'd love to be your friend Kai,"
"Aww, maaaaan! How am I gonna top that?!" You and Kai turn to see Jay holding a box while muttering to himself. The two of you burst out laughing. It'll take time to repair/make the bonds of friendship, but with a new friend by your side, you're sure to gain the rest of the team's trust.

impulsive. | garmadon x reader | chapter ii
You don’t think you’ve ever been so excited for a trip before.
For once, you feel energized and ready to go rather than wanting to sleep in more. Now, you’re dressed in your favorite gi and have gathered all of your belongings. With that, you set out to find Garmadon.
This trip is exciting for many reasons: first of all, you’re taking a trip with Garmadon. And it’s just going to be the two of you, which is already going to be fun. Secondly, you’ll be the Master of Destruction. Wielding an element is something you’ve always dreamed of doing, and now you finally can! Thirdly, you’re going to have to work your way through an ancient ruin! How cool is that! Exploring ruins was always fun for you.
Feeling positive about the trip, you make your way through the monastery. Eventually, you find Garmadon waiting for you at the entrance, equipped with only his trusty bamboo staff.
“Good morning,” he greets with a smile.
“Morning!” you reply.
“Ready to head out?”
“I am.”
“Excellent. I have already informed Wu that we will be traveling. We will be on our way now.”
Yep. This is awesome.
Your crush aside, it’s just really nice to be out and about with someone different. You like your team, yes, but they could get really exhausting. It’s refreshing to be with someone new.
“How far away is this place?” you question as the two of you progress.
“About a day’s journey away,” he answers. “It is called Bleak Falls Barrow. Much like the Caves of Despair and the Fire Temple, this ruin is the symbolic stronghold of destructive power.”
“Wow. How big are the ruins?”
“We are not quite sure. I have never been there, and Misako and Wu were seemingly unable to enter.”
“I wonder why,” you mumble with a frown.
“Destruction magic is more powerful than the basic four elements,” he explains, staring straight ahead as the two of you continue walking. “It uses a different script than the elements of creation, which means it is wielded differently. Your element is not dependent upon a master of multiple elements, like the ninja’s are. It is not an element that can be controlled by another user. You must be in control because you have no other choice. Use it wisely before it uses you.”
“What do you mean by script?” you question, becoming more and more intrigued in the discussion by the second. This is the content you crave to know, so you’re damn well going to ask whatever you need to in order to understand what element you’re about to be entrusted with.
“Do you recall our meditation session a few weeks ago where I told you about how groups of elements work in different magical languages? It is similar to that. The scripts are the language, in a sense. The Elements of Creation all are based in one script - that is why Lloyd can manipulate them too, because the script allows for a master elemental. Destruction magic differs in its script because it is unique to itself. Whereas Fire, Lightning, Earth, and Ice all originate from the same script, Destruction is the only element that has a unique script.”
“That makes sense,” you say. “So that means only one Master of Destruction can exist, right?”
“Yes. As of right now, I am the only who can grant you this element. But, once you receive it, you will be the one in control of its descendant. It is not an inheritable element.”
“Really? How did you get it, then?”
“The truth is that...I am not entirely positive. Misako thinks it’s due to our family line being half-Oni, and also because of the Devourer’s venom.”
“Interesting,” you mumble.
Garmadon nods. “It is. But our road ahead is long and winding, and we do not know what may await us in the ruin, so it is crucial we remain on guard.”
After many long hours of relentless walking, the sun finally begins dipping below the horizon. The two of you finally reach your destination.
“Wow, it’s huge!” you note, glancing at the architecture. Several triangular arches made of stone line the entryway, the floor made of a long staircase.
“I have a feeling that will be true of the ruin itself as well,” he replies. “Come, let’s take shelter underneath the overhang at the entrance.”
With that, you both begin ascending the staircase. The edges have rounded overtime, and portions of the staircase are missing or cracked, but you still are able to climb safely to the top, where the entrance to the ruin lay. It consists of a large double door made of stone, and engraved with many mysterious pictures. Thankfully, due to the overhang situated above, it looks like the carvings have been preserved from the weather.
“These remind me of the paintings we saw in the Temple of Light,” you note, studying them.
“They are similar, but tell of a different prophecy,” Garmadon adds, stepping up beside you. You can’t help but shudder slightly as his arm brushes against yours. “What do you see, my dear?”
“I see...a dragon right here. The silver paint kinda faded, looks like, but you can still make out its body outline. And there, right in front of it, is a human. And there’s another person standing here,” you explain, pointing to the second human. “And...there’s a man over here. He’s standing on top of a building holding something.” You frown, studying it closer because something about it is familiar. “Wait..that’s you when you were about to defeat the Great Devourer!”
“Very good. I think this is a mural of elemental prophecies - listed generation by generation.” He steps closer, examining the engravings. “Yes. That one is the second generation prophecy, which would include me, Wu, and the parents of the ninja. The first generation prophecy is over here…”
“First generation?” you mumble. If what Garmadon said about not being able to inherit this element is true, then who would the first Master of Destruction be? Did that person even exist…?
You walk closer as well, observing closely. There’s another dragon, but this seems to be depicted in a much darker light than the one you saw first.
“Wait,” you say as realization dawns on you. “Is that the Overlord?”
“Yes. That would make sense...if he was the first documented evil spirit...that would make sense. He could be the source of destruction.”
“That does make sense, because his influence only made the call of the dark side stronger, right?”
“Indeed. Interesting. Now, for the last one…” you approach the last carving, studying it intently.
“I only see two people and a dragon,” you say. “That doesn’t look familiar.”
“That’s because it hasn’t happened yet. I would bet that this is your prophecy.”
“Mine?”
“Yes. You are about to become the third generation Master of Destruction, after all.”
“Whoa,” you breathe. You’re going to get a dragon?! “I can’t wait to explore this place.”
“I am looking forward to the experience as well, but we should rest for now since we’ve been traveling all day,” he states, walking towards the empty entranceway. There’s a low-cut wall bordering the corners of the entrance floor, which makes it a good spot for camp. You shrug off your backpack, propping it against the wall before unzipping it. You pull out two sleeping bags, which have been rolled into a neat, space-saving manner thanks to Zane.
You busy yourself with unrolling while Garmadon has a look around. He seems lost in thought, so you decide to let him do his thing while you get camp set up.
Provided with the bag is a little electric lantern, so you flick it on. Paired with the lovely scenery, this is a very cozy setup.
While Garmadon walks around at the bottom, you sit down on the top stair, folded your arms on top of your knees. Damn. Today was fun, but you know tomorrow is going to be even better. But even so, you still have to decide on whether or not you would tell him how you really feel. Yesterday you were feeling confident, but now you’re starting to backtrack. What if it messes everything up between the two of you? What if what you’re feeling is only temporary? Would you risk that for what you have already?
Despite your negative thoughts, your mind still ventures into the positive thoughts. What if he does feel the same? What if he does and you’re able to work the other details out? That possibility alone makes your heart race.
You sit there for a few more minutes, admiring the scenery. Wow. It’s so tranquil up here. A thick layer of snow lines the ground, casting the area in a mysteriously wonderful glow. Judging by the clouds, it looks like it might snow tonight.
You wonder what all has happened here - what secrets these walls have witnessed. What enemies you could potentially face down there. How deep are these ruins? Exactly how old are they? Did the Overlord come here at one point? You sigh as questions continue to litter your thoughts, deciding to close your eyes while you wait for Garmadon to return.
He does so a few minutes later. You hear him walking up the stairs, and you can’t help but stare at him for a moment. His gray hair has been dotted with a bit of snow in places. Damn. You’re kind of screwed, huh?
“I can’t help but notice that something has been troubling you lately,” he states once he reaches the top. He sits a few feet away from you, causing you to sigh.
“Yeah, but it’s...I don’t know,” you mumble, suddenly growing shy.
“Complicated?”
“Very.”
He chuckles. “That is life, but we have the ability to lighten our burden where we can.”
You sigh. “Yeah...but it’s like...a complete and utter clusterfuck.”
Garmadon laughs a bit, glancing out at the scenery. “Well, whatever it is, it will work out. But always know you have people who are willing to listen. If not me, then at least one of the ninja.”
You shrug, looking down at the ground and touching one of the cracks in the rocks. You absentmindedly rub it with your thumb as you gather your thoughts.
“I’m not really close with the ninja, though,” you mutter. “I can’t really find any connection with them. Well, Cole, maybe, and Zane...but...I don’t know.”
“Connection can be a wonderful thing, but you must open yourself to it,” he notes.
Heh. It’s kind of ironic - even though you’re closer in age to the ninja, you still find that you’re most comfortable around Garmadon. It’s not that the ninja made you uncomfortable, but...you just never really fit in with them well.
Another sigh escapes you as butterflies fill your tummy. You really could just tell him; you know he would listen. Part of you just wants to bite the bullet and get it over with, but your fear is preventing you from saying anything.
But is it really right to just not say anything…?
Garmadon doesn’t press further as he stands. “Well, I’m sure whatever it is you’re worried about is best tackled on a full stomach. Why don’t we hunt for dinner?”
You nod, following him down to the forest.
Soon enough, the two of you manage to gather a dinner consisting of a wild animal and a few edible plants. It does the trick, and now, you’re winding down for bed.
You’re currently staring up at the vast array of stars lining the sky. The ceiling part of the ruin entranceway has collapsed in places, leaving portions of the ceiling open for your gazing convenience. The (not really) catch is that it’s not a large hole, which means you’re slightly pressed against Garmadon’s side so you can both see the sides.
“I don’t know many constellations,” you note, gazing up at the sky.
“I don’t either,” Garmadon replies with a chuckle. “I always enjoy simply gazing at the night sky.”
You nod in agreement, a reply dying on your lips as your mind starts tolling.
Now would be a good time to confess… Wait, no…maybe I should wait…? Until after the ritual thing. Yeah…? But what if that makes him mad? Maybe I should just be honest with him.
“Hey…um. About the thing I’ve been worried about,” you mumble, sitting up as your heart begins pounding. Garmadon senses the change in your mood and rises as well.
No one else is here to interrupt or overhear. Now is perfect.
“I…um…” you sigh, taking a deep breath. It’s just Garmadon. Whatever happens will happen, and you’ll both be okay no matter what. “I…have something to tell you. And I just - I’ve been thinking on this for damn near…what, one, two months now? Because I know…it’s not right. It isn’t appropriate. But I can’t help how I feel. I’ve waited to see if it’s just a temporary thing a-and, I don’t think it is. I don’t want to continue feeling like this so I’m just gonna…just gonna say it. Garmadon, I…I like you. Like…I like you in a romantic sense. And I know that’s…probably really weird considering the obvious but it’s just how I feel, and I j-j…just want you to know that if you want to just forget I even said all of this then it’s fine but I can’t go on like this anymore I can’t-“
“Dear,” he says softly, placing a hand on your shoulder. You gasp, not even realizing that you had started rambling. A sniffle escapes you as a tear escapes.
“Fuck, I screwed this whole thing up, didn’t I?” you mumble, guilt creeping over you. You furiously paw at your eyes.
“You didn’t screw anything up,” Garmadon assures. You’re kind of surprised at how calmly he’s reacting, but you can’t yet look him in the eye. “I…had no idea that you…”
You chuckle bitterly, nodding. “Yeah. Took me a while to come to terms with it myself.”
“Well…” Garmadon trails off for a few moments. You squirm in your spot anxiously. “While this was…not what I was expecting when you said something was bugging you, I also…” Again, he trails off. Okay! That’s not a horrible sign!
Garmadon chuckles lightly, gaze falling to your hands, which are fidgeting. “You are a grown woman…and while I’m not against the idea, it also presents…issues.”
“A lot of issues,” you agree, nodding. “But from here on, I’ll proceed however you feel comfortable doing so.”
Garmadon chuckles. “It is not impossible. I think we can make it work.”
“Really?”
“Really. Now, I’m sure you’re exhausted from our trip, so let’s get some rest for now. We can discuss this more tomorrow.”
You nod, but your eyes widen as Garmadon gently slips his hand under yours, lifting the back of your hand to his lips. Your heart races when he smiles at you softly.
“Get some sleep,” he mumbles.
“Only if you do too.”

Ok since two people asked
Why Lloyd is my least favorite ninja and how I rewrite him
Notes:// you know the rodeo by now, long post so it’s going to be under a read more, and I’m not gonna tag this with Lloyd because of the criticisms I have against his character, if you don’t want to hear Lloyd be critiqued then don’t reas the post
Why I don’t like Lloyd
Maybe it’s because I’m a Kai kinnie or maybe it’s because I have a bias agaisnt the younger sibling but Lloyd has never really been a favorite of mine
He was enjoyable in s1 but after that he kinda lost all personality for me and I stopped enjoying him
I think this is mostly for two reasons:
1. His screen time
2. His “character arcs”
I’ll go ahead and knock out his screentime here because it pretty much speaks for himself
Lloyd takes up so much screentime in the show that it’s actually jarring, he’s the character with the most seasons, having s1-2, s4, s8-11, and finally s14 ((the island special)). Which I think makes lloyds writing flaws all the more noticable
A big reason, albeit a bit of a petty one, for why I don’t like him is because he constant hyjacks other characters plots and makes them about him, this happened with Kai in both s4 and s11
Even if he’s not the main focus of a season, he always has a side plot focusing on him like in s3 and s12
The writers need to include Lloyd in other seasons is making it harder for the other main characters to actually have enough screentime to grow and develop on there own
And as a side effect of this, Lloyd gets to become the most important character in every season he is, taking roles from other characters who needed them
My best example is Cole being leader, he was set up and established as leader in the pilots and s1, and he did pretty good in it! Cole being a leader is a interesting concept that I would have loved to see been developed
But after Lloyd grew up they threw that plot point into the trash so they could have the mystical green ninja be leader even though throughout s1-7 he hardly actually talks to the main cast and him being leader doesn’t add any interesting dynamic like cole and kais rivalry despite Kai being a sort of right hand man to Coles leadership.
And in s1-s7 especially everything literally revolves around Lloyd to the point where his existence is more important than everyone else’s, and everyone’s motivations are to protect him.
Again I understand he is important, he’s the green ninja, but you have to let your other characters grow and develop, Lloyd is not the only main character in your show
Like for fuck sakes I don’t need 3 arcs about Lloyd and his dad, can I finally have another Kai season
Lloyds character arcs honestly kinda suck
Im going to be honest with you
Lloyds kinda an ass
The reason I like jay more then Lloyd even though jay has been way more mean spirited then Lloyd throughout the entire series is because you can atleast make the argument that jay doesn’t know when his jokes can hurt. And the show doesn’t portray jay as in the right, he gets what he deserves for some of the meanier things he says.
The same can’t be said about Lloyd
Lloyd says things to the other ninja that is honestly so mean spirited it’s jarring to hear it from him
Best example being when Lloyd told Kai to get over his shit when Kai was grieving in s4
But what makes it so frustrating is that the show always portrays Lloyd like he’s in the right which is why a lot of his character arcs feel flat or uninteresting
The only time this doesn’t apply is in s2 and in s3, in s2 the show paints Lloyd as being unfair to Misako when he RIGHTFULLY gets mad at her for abandoning him, I’ll get back to this later
The second time in s3 is when he’s traveling with Garmadon and having to be taught to balance his powers, which is actually one part of s3 I really liked, it was nice to see these two bond and have Garmadon teach Lloyd something that wu would other wise not teach him. And it’s a real shame the season cut it short AGAIN
The biggest example of the show making Lloyd seem in the right no matter what is in s4, Lloyds whole arc there was to learn how to view things from a different perspective and appreciate the things others have done for him. And this is would work if the show decided to do the same.
Again back to that scene with Lloyd and Kai in s4, the show treats Lloyd as if he’s in the right and it’s never addressed after this. Even though this is supposed to be the beginning of lloyds arc where he’s supposed to learn to view things from a different perspective
This scene would have worked if
1. The show didn’t paint him in the right for this, either by having Lloyd apologize or having the show acknowledged how it might have hurt Kai
2. If the plot Lloyd has remained a side plot instead of taking up the entire focus
Seriously, s4 could have been the ONE season where you can have a Lloyd side plot thats not forced and yet they fucked it up and made it the entire focus of the season thanks a lot.
To quote what I said in my Nya anayalsis awhile back
“I’m not upset that he has a flaw, just that it’s not recognized as one”
Lloyd would work way better as a character if the show just let him have consequences for his actions
Ever since he grew up and got the green ninja role he’s been treated like he can’t do no wrong which is clearly not true
But since we’re already on this topic
Hurting Lloyd doesn’t make him a good character
I feel like Tommy ((and sometimes the fandom)) really misunderstand what the use of suffering for in a story
There atleast 3 reasons writers make there characters suffer
1. To undergo a arc and realize where they have been wrong or to give a character a lot more depth to expand upon
2. If the story is a fallen hero one and the character suffers because of his Huberius
3. If the story is a tragedy
Ninjago is neither a fallen hero story or a tragedy and his pain doesn’t develop him as a character
A lot of writers don’t understand that suffering isn’t what makes a character good, it’s what pushes them to become good, you can’t just throw a character at the wall and expect them to instantly be a well written fleshed out character
A lot of the suffering Lloyd has to endure is mostly for no reason and it’s really mean spirited because it adds nothing to the plot, it’s just there to hurt him
Let’s bring up s11 as an example, Lloyd didn’t HAVE to fight the ice emperor from a writing standpoint, if anything it should have been kais battle because his lose of power and Zane going evil would have been a perfect reflection of s4 and tie it up after it ended kais character a bit open ended
But no let’s have Lloyd do it instead because haha isn’t trauma COOL and HIP
Now to be clear, I’m not saying that all of your stories have to end on a happy ending or anything like that, if your a writer then your allowed to do whatever you want with your personal writing
What I am saying is that ninjago is an actual SHOW made by PROFESSIONAL writers and they can’t understand the concept of a story structure
And the lack of actually addressing his trauma is really bringing down Lloyd as a character
Because it comes to a point where you understand why Lloyd is sometimes mean or distrustful of other people and it’s frustrating because you know that it’s flaws of him that are never going to be fixed because there writers want there trauma baby
How I would rewrite him
I’ve seen a lot of people suggest Lloyd become a villain in a future season and you know what, I sort of agree
But not in the way you think
I feel like it would be way more compelling if Lloyd was a villain but is still a ninja, instead of Lloyd switching sides, the show is switching perspectives
More or less I want Lloyd to be a reflection of the “true” villain, which is how wu ((and subsequently Lloyd)) put small Victories as more important then the ninjas life, passion, and desire, and how there black and white thinking of good and evil ends up to a lot of problems because there’s a lot of grey area there choosing to ignore
I want Lloyd to start of being loyal to wu’s philosophy and the protagonist, for random example let’s say Kai, sudden turn on these ideas in order to look outside the box to find if there truly is a better way to protect people without harming himself
I want Lloyd to be upset over what he thinks is a turn to the dark side when in reality, it would make his motivations make sense and not make his turn to “villainy” be out of character.
And over the course of the season he starts to realize how wus and subsequently his leadership has hurt the others and himself, and have him reflect on if all the pain they suffer through just to clean up wus mistakes is really worth it like wu says, or if there’s a better way like kai says
As for Lloyds actual character himself, I’d like for his flaws to be more noticeable
Have Lloyd be a gifted kid who gets praise when he doesn’t deserve it but still kinda acts like a brat because he’s still mentally like 10
Have him be a control freak who follows the rules way to strictly and is all serious when they have to do missions
Have his idealization of wu be realized and critiqued because honestly wu sucks ass
Would this make his character less like able? Maybe, but then he’d actually have depth and something to improve on
He can still have his s3 and s4 arcs, it’s just now they’re more important because he’s actually learning to be better
AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IM PURPOSEFULLY MAKING LLOYD WORSE SO THAT KAI LOOKS BETTER
ILL HAVE YOU KNOW AWHILE BACK I MADE A POST SAYING THE EXACT SAME THING ABOUT KAI AND HIS FLAWS SO THERE (/hj /lh)

The Ninja’s Love Languages
For anyone who doesn’t know, the five love languages are...
Words of Affirmation
Physical Touch
Quality Time
Gifts
Acts of Service
I had this idea last night at 4 am and i’m gonna try and make sense of it so here we go...
Jay
Physical Touch
-this one’s super easy
-hands down this is 100% jay
-when isn’t this boy clinging onto someone (esp. nya and cole)
-i mean just look (there’s so many more but i got lazy, feel free to add on)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-his first response to comfort/fear is a hug, a hand on shoulder, etc.
-and when you think abt it it makes sense
-cuz first of all just look at his parents, ed and edna
-the most affectionate and loving ppl on this goddam planet
-they showered him w/ undying love and support his whole life, ofc this kid’s gonna turn out the same
-but then if you also tie in his abandonment issues and fear of being alone and it makes even more sense
-we find out abt those mainly in s12 when he talks abt his birth parents to unagami, but looking at what happened to him in s6 when he was alone for so long on the misfortunes keep and nya dying to top it off...
-he lost all his friends not once, but twice (and that’s not including all the separate times the ninja have died) plus he feels like his birth parents abandoned him, w/o him even rlly knowing for sure what happened
-so it makes sense he’d be more comfortable showing his love by clinging onto someone, giving a hug, high-fiveing, etc.
- i hope this made sense i’m so sorry
Nya
Acts of Service
-this also makes sense
-we all know nya is a very independent person, and she doesn’t usually like all the touchy feely stuff
-this is especially shown w her and jay’s relationship
-( i didn’t want to make this all abt jaya i’m sorry)
-we know they both are two very different ppl.
-nya’s strong and independent, while jay is a lot more sensitive
-you’ll notice in the earlier seasons nya almost never initiated the affection w jay, he always the first to mention it, also coupled w the fact that she’s never told jay “i love you” (at least not yet) and we can pin this on her childhood
-she and kai didn’t have it great as kids, they basically raised e/o and the only times nya ever heard “i love you” was from kai
-so if she wasn’t used to saying it growing up, why would she immediately jump to it now that she’s a teenager/young adult? even w someone she does love
-she expresses her love in what she does and says.
-the main example i can think of atm is this
Tumblr media
-jay’s freaking out abt catching her for the dance move and with 100% confidence she just says “i trust you” and then fucking yeets herself at him
-there’s other examples of this w the others too
-she builds their mechs and vehicles, back in the earlier seasons she always made sure the boys were taken care of when they got back from missions, she was always the cavalry, she sacrificed herself for jay back in s6 when they were at the lighthouse, and kai mentions she’s always taken care of him
-not to mention how she adopted lloyd back when he first came in
-i could go on
-does this make sense?? i hope it does
Cole
Words of Affirmation
-i had a little more trouble thinking abt cole but now that i’ve decided i’m pretty sure WoA suits him best
-cole didn’t have the best childhood either
-we now know his mom, Lilly, died when he was fairly young, judging by the flashback, i’d estimate around 10-13 y/o
-we know it wasn’t too long before wu found him
-and she showered him in love much like jay was
-just in the flashback she tells him how proud she is of him and how much she loves him
Tumblr media
-(also look how quick he was to try and justify why he got in a fight to avoid getting yelled at when his mom mentioned him getting in trouble bc he didn’t want to disappoint her)
-now we don’t know what Lou was like before his wife died, but we know he was definitely not as loving towards cole afterwards
-Lou ignored Cole due to his grief most of the time, coupled w him wanting Cole to follow in his footsteps, and their relationship overall sucks until after the royal blacksmiths ep
-so it all falls the same that Cole would want to keep seeking out the words he got from his mother in his relationships w others (especially authority figures)
-just look at all the times he absolutely lights up when getting praised by wu or even the others
-plus thx to day of the departed, we know he’s afraid of being forgotten
-hearing the others say they love him and want him around would appease that
-staying on this train, we have...
Lloyd
Words of Affirmation
-i was tied between this one and acts of service, but then i decided
-lloyd’s life, esp his childhood, has absolutely sucked
-he was abandoned at a very young age at darklys which we know the other boys there weren’t kind, and then when he finally gets a home and a family, the weight of the world is now on his shoulders bc he’s a prophesied savior
-morro’s possession says enough on its own
-the list goes on
-then we get s8-s10
-harumi goes and absolutely destroys his trust in everyone and everything
-(after she told him she loved him)
-but also...
- then boom. yeeted through a wall
-he’s been abandoned, rejected, and used his whole life
-why wouldn’t this kid need words of affirmation??
-the other ninja have been the one staple in his entire life, and after everything he’s gone through, he definitely needs to hear that they love him and want him around every now and then
-this kid’s also emotional (who can blame him)
-he always puts all his cards on the table, more so in s11 and onward
-and we’ve seen how he always gives encouraging words to the others, mainly while they’re fighting
Zane
Quality Time
-i had trouble w zane’s too lol
-but i think this fits
-this nindroid is the purest being ever
-don’t get me wrong, zane can definitely be a smart ass and sassy when he wants to, he’s not all innocent, but u catch my drift
-let’s look at his past too
-he was all alone and by himself, he didn’t even know who he was until he found his true potential
-and he gets a family, ppl who live and care abt him
-then he sacrifices himself and dies
-when he was imprisoned on chen’s island, he was alone
-then decoded happens and we find out he’s got intense trauma from that
-he thought he was alone in his internal battle
-then boom
-he’s the fucking ice emperor. alone for decades, committing genocide
-and when he finally snapped out of it, that had to of destroyed him
-he’s spent so much time being alone and facing so much trauma, that he always gravitates towards being in groups
-we’ve seen him and pixal spend time working together in the workshop, he enjoys family meals and cooking for everyone, he’s been shown to not like it when the others occasionally fight, and an overall loving guy
Tumblr media
-he prbly doesn’t realize it, but he’s the glue that holds everyone together
-this one was so jumbled
and last but not least...
Kai
Gifts
-now not only does this fit his personality, it also makes sense with his bad childhood
-we all know kai is a very cocky and prideful person. he’s always showing off, flaunting his good looks, and can be sometimes arrogant
-ofc under all that is a very kind and loving big brother and friend
-but bc of this he’d not only love getting gifts from fans and the others, but giving them as well
-kai, like nya, didn’t have a good childhood
-he’s not an emotional person and he was never used to saying “i love you,” instead he had to take care of his sister while trying to run a business
-his way of showing love is giving things for his family
-there’re aren’t many instances of this in the show, but the gift giving doesn’t necessarily have to be smthg physical
-he’s sacrificed himself for the others on several accounts, he offers advice when needed, giving pep talks, helping raise lloyd, he even helped jay propose to nya, those things can be considered as gifts too
Tumblr media
(again i’m sorry if any of this isn’t coherent i just had some thoughts. pls feel free to add on if i missed smthg)
The point of this is that these kids love each other and have different ways of showing it💙💜🧡💚🤍❤️

Previous/next/first
I am going to rewatch one episode of ninjago a day until I ether give up or finish, I was going to watch one yesterday but my mom was hogging Netflix and we only have one screen on our acount. So this is a bit late.
I will put my thoughts down as I watch it and rate each episode out of ten.
Day 2
Season 1 ep 2 home
I miss the previously on ninjago I know in the new seasons they combine it with the intro but it just isn’t the same
Also original intro was amazing. Yet another problem with newer ninjago, we don’t have stylized intros. Which leaves the new intros just glorified recaps, plus the newer whips aren’t as good as the old ones. I would never skip and old intro but I almost always skip a new intro.
The Netflix captions say Kai is talking but it’s jays voice. Might just be a Netflix issue though.
Ah the sacred Flute oh how useless you will be in 2 episodes only to be used once in the finale and never to be seen again
Last episode don’t wu have to go through a hallway to get to the tv room. The anatomy of the monastery is weird.
My favorite master wu quote is said in this episode, “what is weird? Someone who is different, or someone who is different from you?” When I first watched this episode it stuck with me because of stuff going on in my school at the time. When ever I would feel down about bullies I would think about this quote and try and not care about what people say. Because the just thought I was different than them and what they said doesn’t affect me, and that I shouldn’t focus on it.
Also the rest of the ninja are being jerks
The compilation of Zane braking social norms will never not be funny
I laugh at sad romance scenes too sometimes
Ah good old sensei wu angst
THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND. THE MAIL MAN
One of the best characters ever.
Props to him for walking up that mountain
It always confused me about how the ninja had fans back then and how Kai got a fan letter. Like I know he has no other family to get letters from but still he could have been writing to a pen pal or something
And I thought Cole and his dad weren’t talking. And how does the mailman know to give it to Cole here and not at the dancing school he told his dad he was at
Rocky and Cole were the best friends and I love there friendship
Wow Zane good job at making me sad
Rocky is a baby at heart and I want to squeeze him
Baby Lloyd liking trap doors is funny when you think about what happens in season four. I guess you can call it karma
Oof Cole can’t cook for crap
Why is Zane wearing a pink apron so funny to them? I never got this joke as a kid. I just didn’t really find boys wearing pink and people laughing at them a funny trope.
Also sensei wu you were just preaching about how difference makes people unique but know you are laughing at Zane for wearing his apron. Shame on you
Wow what a waste of the wonderful food Zane made for you
Falcon my beloved how I miss you
Also the theme that plays here is one of my favorite themes of all time. It’s just so calming.
This whole interaction is fudging adorable
The girl = go ballistic line might be a stereotype but it manages to make me laugh every time
Stop bulling zane guys not cool
I love how there skeptical of zane actually finding Lloyds secret headquarters but the trust him so they follow him anyway
I wish the tree house was a Lego set that would have been so cool
Also the snakes are idiots. Who makes a tree house that is only supported by three branches
That snake fell with cole’s voice
This thing is so unsound I’m surprised people walking on it didn’t make I collapse
Cole gets the first award for being the first brainwashed ninja
Poor lloyd
Well Cole it’s a good time to build up resistance to jays lightning it’s not going to be the first time you get shocked
Jay is incredibly lucky
Flute ex machina
Rip Lloyds treehouse
Also rip the monastery
Kai I love you but blaming Zane will not help anything
Wow everyone jump on the blame zane train I guess. You jerks
Wow Lloyds first imprisonment
Honestly I could care less about the snake B plot
You deserve to feel bad you were jerks to Zane
Hugs :D
The bounty is the best home they ever had. Also it has survived multiple travesties against it.
Food fights with the whole family
Poor Lloyd. Guys just go and grab the little gremlin already
Final thoughts
I think this episode was good. It had funny moments and good dialog, but suffered from a boring B plot involving the snakes and Zane bullying. Also the whole fight scene with Cole had no consequences and no one ever brings it up again. Over all I give this episode a solid 7.5/10

I don’t have my Ipad so ✨random headcanons✨ time
Spoilers up to season 9(?) possibly-
(I’m dyslexic so I apologize for any spelling errors and stuff)
Zane
• He really likes to listen to Mitski, it gives him a sort of nostalgic comfort which he can cry to or just listen to when he isn’t feeling the best.
• Once Zanes’ father passed he decided to remake his old home into a resting area from himself where he just can read or just sit if he ever feels lonely because it makes him feel like his father is still with him.
• He keeps little pieces of paper with him that has information about all his friends just in case he some how forgets them again.
• Zane likes the smell of lavender. It can easily calm him and he always keep a little piece of lavender on him for stress reasons.
Cole
• He’s a big fan of bo burnhams music. He may not agree with the meanings in some of the songs but they are always a great way for him to get his creativity going.
• He used to play drums when he was little and was surprisingly good at them but never liked them himself. He still keeps the drum sticks he used as a child even if he never really liked the instrument.
• Cole has to hold something has to hold something while he sleep or he won’t be able to fall asleep comfortably so he bought himself a stuffie but makes sure to hide it from everyone because he doesn’t want to be made fun of. (even though he makes fun jay for having one too 🙄)
Jay
• Since he is so sensitive to loud noises he needs to listen to calming noises like the sounds of rain or the ocean if it’s really loud or else he may start crying. (The other ninjas helped buy some noise canceling headphones for his birthday since they were concerned about his ears.)
• Whenever Jay feels a strong emotion he hits his wrists together and/or kicks his feet. He also does some other things like when he’s really embarrassed he will slap his thigh really hard.
• He wears A LOT of big baggy clothing cause it makes him feel like he’s constantly being hugged.
• Jay really dislikes mirrors because he’s really self conscious of his face and body so he usually has some one do his hair and just basically get ready for the day with him. (Kai is usually the one who helps since he’s really good at styling his own hair so might as well help out a friend you know?)
Kai
• For being the master of fire he doesn’t have a good spice tolerance actually. He may be able to handle fire but when it comes to spicy stuff it just seems to overwhelm him.
• After he found his mother and father the first thing he really wanted to do with them was to play games together that he would of been able to play with his parents and not just his sister if they hadn’t been taken.
• Kai and Nya also go to have a cup of coffee Wednesday morning no matter what is happing to catch up with each other’s lives. Even if they live together a little along time to catch up is always nice and they always enjoy it.
• Kai is afraid of quite a lot of things but one of the main things he hates is the dark. He always thinks that something is gonna take him when he turns off the lights so he lights candles right before he goes to bed which also make him relax easier.
Nya
• She likes to cut her own hair. She always cut it since she was a child and she got really good at it by styling and cutting kai’s hair when he need it.
• Nya never really liked Lloyd when he was first introduced. She never liked kids that much and Lloyd fit into the category of ‘unlikeable kids’ for her. Soon though he start to grow on her, he reminded her of her younger since she never really got to know her parents as well as a kid. She started hanging out with him more and even became sort of a mother figure for him.
• Nya and Zane are the mom friends of the group so they tend to get along very well. They talk over tea ever so often when they are able to break away from the others. (They need the tea time it’s probably hell trying to keep the other three out of trouble)
Lloyd
•(this relates to the Nya headcanon involving Lloyd) Lloyd sometimes by habit calls Nya his mother since she took care of him a lot as a kid. Whenever this happens they both just laugh over it.
• Lloyd likes to visit the museum of villains to specifically apologize to some of the villains he defeated because he wonders if there was something he could of done anything to help them. Whether it could of been before or after they became a villain he still wish he could of helped some of them. (Cough cough, Morro and Harumi)
• Since Lloyd never knew his father well he occasionally asks Wu what he was like when he wasn’t evil or stories of their childhood. Even if Wu repeats some of the stories that he told Lloyd, Lloyd doesn’t mind cause it makes him happy.
• Lloyd likes to paint. He picked it up as a hobby when Wu disappeared since he was very stressed and overwhelmed that he lost the last bit of family. It calmed him even though he wasn’t always the best at it and he kept the hobby even after finding Wu since it was a stress reliever and he enjoyed doing it.
No I didn’t forget to post this-

they've come to get me (and everything's okay)
"Well, we don't have to worry about it then," Lloyd smiled, trying to push back the thought that there could be a group based around his father when he was being controlled by the venom of the Devourer, "it's probably just some misguided criminal who thought it looked cool."
•••
Despite the fact that they were looking for Master Wu, Kai made sure to check on Lloyd every few months in person.
The visits were only for a day or two, usually because Kai was going through the city to investigate yet another dead end lead, but the short hours he got to spend with Lloyd, he cherished.
So when he was in the city, six months after the events of the battle with the Hands of Time, he was excited to see Lloyd.
Even when he almost got run off the road by a motorcycle speeding past, a black ponytail sticking out of the back of the driver's helmet and what sounded like screeching coming from them.
Kai rolled his eyes, he was used to reckless drivers at this point in his life, but that emblem on the back of their motorcycle looked like…
Kai shook the thought out of his head, trying to shake the feeling of dread building in the pit of his stomach. 'It's just some abstract art, definitely not Garmadon.'
Before he could call PIXAL through their connected computer lines to let him know he was almost at the Bounty, she started calling him and he clicked "accept" almost immediately.
"Kai, you need to get to the canals. Master Lloyd has been critically injured, and I am struggling to get the Bounty there."
Panic hit his system as his foot hit the gas, the car nearly flying off the road as one thought jumped into Kai's head.
'What trouble have you gotten yourself into now, Lloyd?'
•••
Lloyd swallowed back the blood he could taste in his mouth, trying desperately to put pressure against the stab wound. But his hands were slick with blood, he couldn't hold down on it and he was starting to get really tired…
'Maybe I should start listening to PIXAL when she tells me to let the police handle it.'
Because bleeding out just outside of the canals wasn't exactly how he'd envisioned himself dying, and he knew that the kids who lived here were probably scared out of their minds.
Lloyd tried to press down on the wound again, unable to hold back the cry of pain that escaped his lips before his hands slipped again, and that's when reality fully sank in as he stared up at the twinkling stars.
'I'm not making it out of this one. The Green Ninja, dead from a stab wound from a regular criminal.'
"Lloyd!" A shout broke through his dimming vision, and he managed to turn his head, letting out a sigh of relief when it was Kai racing towards him and not the masked figure ready to finish him off, "holy!-"
Lloyd's hearing started to cut out and his vision went dark, no longer able to see Kai's panicked face. 'Maybe just a little bit of sleep…'
The cry tore through his throat and all he could feel was 'painpainpain' when he opened his eyes again, seeing Kai staring down at him, his hands obviously pressing down on the wound.
"PIXAL's sending the Bounty," Kai told him before adding, "you are not dying on me today."
Lloyd couldn't keep his eyes from shutting, only hearing one sentence before fading to darkness.
"Lloyd, stay with me."
•••
Kai pressed down harder when Lloyd's eyes fluttered close the second time. 'No response.'
"Lloyd, come on, kiddo. Don't do this, not now." Tears on his cheeks, blood on his hands, pale skin that was almost white under them.
Kai swallowed back the tears he was choking on, and took his hands off of Lloyd's wound, only to press them against his chest; it took two compressions before Lloyd's ribs cracked under his hand, making him cringe. It took five more before Lloyd gasped for breath while still unconscious.
"Thank The First Spinjitzu Master," Kai spoke softly as the Bounty appeared in the sky above them and the anchor dropped, allowing him to hold on while holding onto Lloyd's unconscious body, "we seriously need to install a gurney on this thing."
As soon as his feet touched the deck, Kai rushed Lloyd to control and laid him down where Zane's repairs were done before turning on the computer, watching as PIXAL's system glowed to life.
"Alright, Pix. I'm gonna need a scan, and then some instructions on how to take care of him," Kai explained while reaching over and holding pressure on the wound, leaning closer to whisper, "I'm not letting you die, not tonight."
•••
Lloyd's throat was dry.
There were plenty of things he could've focused on when he finally managed to pry himself from the hold of unconsciousness, but the first thought in his head was that his throat was dry.
He only had to try and grasp at his thoughts to figure out what happened before he blacked out, but then it hit him all at one.
'Stabbed and Kai's there and he's begging me to stay awake and blood everywhere and being tired…"Lloyd, stay with me." Kai.'
Kai had come to see him on his way to check out a lead, and now...he was in the hospital? Lloyd managed to open his eyes, taking in a breath of relief when he realized he was on the Bounty.
"Pix?" He managed to choke out, his throat ready to stop any words coming out of his mouth, but he tried again. "Pix, is Kai still here?"
He didn't get a response, which had been happening a lot recently, and instead the door opened, revealing an obviously exhausted but relieved Kai. "You're awake."
"Water." Lloyd managed to choke out, his words dying in his throat; luckily, Kai already had a cup waiting for him and tipped it against his lips, it was cool against his throat and immediately expelled the dryness.
"Easy, don't chug, you'll make yourself sick like that," Kai laughed while speaking, removing the cup from his lips, "you scared me for a minute there."
"In my defense, I wasn't trying to get stabbed, and definitely not by a run of the mill criminal."
"I don't think you ever try to get hurt," Kai added, which Lloyd couldn't argue with, before he continued, "Lloyd, we gotta talk about...something."
Lloyd didn't like the tone of his voice, and a pit grew in his stomach. He knew what Kai's serious voice sounded like, and this was definitely it. "What is it?"
"When I was driving into the city, before PIXAL called me, there was a motorcycle that nearly ran me off the road-"
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Lloyd interrupted, instantly worried about Kai's well-being; he wasn't one to hide injuries, but since his case was much more urgent, he wouldn't put it past him.
"No, no," Kai insisted, and Lloyd let out a sigh of relief, "but the driver's bike had an insignia on it...Lloyd, it was a drawing of your dad. Your dad when he was…"
"Evil" didn't have to be said, Lloyd knew that it was exactly what Kai meant. "But it was just one, right? Just one picture on one motorcycle?"
"Yeah, just one."
"Well, we don't have to worry about it then," Lloyd smiled, trying to push back the thought that there could be a group based around his father when he was being controlled by the venom of the Devourer, "it's probably just some misguided criminal who thought it looked cool."
- Seven Months Later -
Nya considered it a stroke of luck that Skylor had a safe house in the canals; it gave them, being Misako, PIXAL, Darreth, herself and Lloyd, a chance to take care of themselves before relocating and meeting up with Skylor.
Nya swallowed back tears, wiping the ones that escaped from her eyes on the sleeve of her gi. She had been forced into hiding before when Nadakhan had painted them as criminals, but she had the others.
She had Kai, who would pull her into a tight hug every time she would get too into her head. She had Jay, who always knew how to make her smile even when she was crying. She had Zane, who always kept her calm with logic and critical thinking, but was never cold towards her. She had Cole, who would always talk her through what she was going through, and give her solid advice.
Nya winced as she pulled up her left sleeve, revealing a plethora of bruising that she immediately started to use what she could find in the first aid kit on, thoughts about the boys still swirling in her head.
'Kai, Cole, Zane, Jay...they were all prophesied to protect Lloyd and now they're gone,' she realized, applying a small ice pack against her wrist, 'I guess that makes it my mission then. To stay strong for him, and make sure he defeats Garmadon for good.'
Despite what she tried to tell herself, she couldn't keep the pang of mourning from stabbing her in the chest; it hurt as much as the tiger widow venom, but unlike that, the grief was much more agonizing.
She pulled down her sleeve and checked her face in the mirror; the skin around her eye was turning purple from the fight she had engaged in with Garmadon and there was a jagged scratch going down her chin, but the rest of the injuries were well hidden.
'That's the last thing Lloyd needs to blame himself for.'
And with that, she made her way towards the one bedroom where Lloyd was supposed to be resting after the fight; he had insisted on his mother, Nya, even Darreth taking the one bed, but they all knew that he needed it the most.
After all, he was the one who had lost his powers, who was still injured from his fight in Kryptarium; he hadn't stopped shaking since he landed on the small boat they had used to pick him up, but she couldn't even blame him. He had watched as the Bounty, their family, had been mercilessly… destroyed.
Nya swallowed back her tears and gently tapped her knuckles against the door, the kind of knock Kai would use when she was sick, injured or just upset; she wouldn't be surprised if Lloyd was suffering from a combination of all three.
She tapped against the door just a little louder this time, but when she didn't get a response, she opened the unlocked door and closed it behind her.
Nya couldn't keep her relief in when she saw the lump in the bed that confirmed Lloyd's presence where he was supposed to be and sat on the edge of it.
"Hey, did you get patched up?" She whispered softly as he laid her hand on his leg, unsure if he was awake.
"Yeah, PIXAL made sure of it," he responded. Nya was able to hear that his voice was thick with tears.
The room was quiet for a few moments; she was unsure what to say, or even what to do, but she had to do something before the tears that were threatening to emerge spilled over.
"Do you…," she could hear Lloyd swallow before trying again, "do you think that if I didn't trust her, we'd be okay."
"Lloyd, they would've gotten the mask with Master Wu if we didn't interfere. You had no reason to suspect her of anything, none of us did." Nya explained softly, pushing back anything that would disprove her point, when Lloyd sat up and she finally got a good look at all of the damage that the Sons of Garmadon, and Garmadon himself, had caused.
The cuts on his face were healing slowly, even though the one that had been next to his hairline was now covered by a white bandage.
His eyes were bloodshot and...they were no longer green. Instead, they were a medium brown with flecks of red in them, like they were when they first took him in. A scared, starving kid in a black hoodie with white paint splattered on it trying to be like his father.
"You didn't trust her at first, Nya. You said you didn't like her."
"And she pulled the wool over my eyes with all that girl talk, remember?" Nya asked softly, maneuvering so she could gently wrap her arm around his shoulder, "trust me when I say that no one blames you. You're not the first to get carried away with a crush."
"If you're talking about Skylar, she didn't get a choice. She was just doing what Chen told her to do," Lloyd's voice was shaky with anger and heartbreak as he pulled away from her hold, "And that worked out, didn't it? We're in her safe house, after all. Rumi is...she isn't being forced to do anything."
"I know you feel as though you have to put everything and everyone on your shoulders, but you don't," Nya spoke, her voice unwavering with a newfound determination, "The boys were prophesied to be your protectors, not the other way around-"
"And they're gone now! Master Wu, Cole, Zane, Jay, Kai, they're all dead! And if anyone else is going to die, I'd rather it be myself then you!" Lloyd shouted back, his eyes welling with tears, but the red coming through more than the brown.
Nya swallowed back her anger. Lloyd was grieving, he always felt the need to take personal responsibility, even when it wasn't his to be responsible for, and while that worked with Master Wu and the others, she was not going to let him do this to himself.
"I'm going to protect you from Harumi, Garmadon, The Sons of Garmadon, and anyone else who tries to fuck with you. I don't care that you don't want me to, that you feel as though offering yourself as a martyr will make this better, I'm going to," she got off the edge of the bed and started to make her way to the door, only stopping when she heard him sniffle.
"I know your life has been scarred by tragedy. That every time something good happens, something worse has to destroy it. But going into this rebellion, this...resistance, with the attitude of wanting to die for it…" she trailed off, finally turning around to see Lloyd's eyes on her, the tears finally leaving her eyes, "Lloyd, that will kill you. And I am not losing anyone else, not after today."
And with that, she finally left the room, only waiting for the door to click shut before allowing her grief to fully consume her.
'I can't believe I'm saying this, but Kai would've handled that better than I did.'
•••
Lloyd wasn't sure how much time passed from when Nya left his room to when he heard the door open, announcing Skylor's arrival with food, medicine, blankets and other essentials.
If he was being completely honest, he wasn't sure how long it had been since he had been held over the monorail by Rumi and…
The sinking feeling in his stomach made him want to curl up and sleep for weeks, but because of him and his stupid mistakes, he didn't get the luxury.
They didn't have much time before they got hunted down by the Sons of Garmadon, just enough time to patch up their injuries and now that Skylor was here, that meant she found a more permanent hiding spot.
Lloyd knew he should've listened to Kai when that motorcyclist nearly ran him off the road, but thinking back on it, he knew fully well why he didn't.
A year ago, when he had to take up the mantle of master for his team, he would've given everything up just to see his father again, even if that was in the cursed realm.
But now...now he was starting to think he'd be okay if he never saw him again, the memory of what Zane had said to Jay on the Island of Darkness ringing true in his head.
'"Perhaps it is better to remember our friends as we knew them in our hearts. Not as they are now."'
He remembered telling his mother that he didn't remember his father any other way, only for her to insist that he loved him and that it was the venom of the Great Devourer that did this.
But now...now he did remember his father. And this was not him, no matter how much the little voice in his head, the scared kid who didn't know where his destiny would lead him, insisted that it was. That he had saved him before, that he could save him again.
Lloyd stood on his shaking legs, still weak from his fight in the prison, and made his way to the main room.
Chen's takeout boxes were on the table and the others were scarfing down food like there was no tomorrow, but they stopped when he came in the room and looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to speak.
He adjusted so he was leaning against the doorway, his legs already threatening to collapse under him, before addressing the four members of his group who remained.
"I can't promise that the Sons of Garmadon aren't going to take us down, that my father will...do something worse. But what I can promise is that ninja never quit," he stopped for a second, his eyes catching Nya's small but determined smile, "and I know that not all of us are ninja, but we are something that could be even stronger."
He took a deep breath, memories of Jay, Kai, Zane, Cole, his brothers and memories of his uncle flooded his vision, before returning to the present.
"We are the resistance. And the resistance never quits."
