Just got to the synopsis for interlude #2 The Clearing for WBN and like, as an indoor cat with anxiety my reaction was very
Like. It's bad out there! No thank you, The Ocean! What's that over there? Do not ask! You don't want or need to know! Leave it alone!
#worlds beyond number#i like cozy spooky but i am not a horror fan at all by any means so halloween is both fun and awful for me#so i love that i have podcasts i can get some fun spooky vibes and supernatural elements from#to feed that part of me while actively blocking all tags for horror movies and such#i contain multitudes#i'll listen to achewillow with it's eviscerating hunger demon all day long#but if i catch a glimpse of a horror movie trailer i WILL burst into tears and have nightmares 🤷🏻♀️#i'm interested to see how this interlude is going to go on the “more gory than usual” front 😬

Okay listen. The first Final Destination movie still holds up after all these years. I love it.
#like many horror franchises - the first movie is the best and then it goes all downhill#the deaths are still pretty gory for that time though#the second movie is also still pretty decent#no horror movie shaped the public's fear of something so specific like that movie#I remember being scared whenever I looked at a truck carrying logs on the road - me and thousands of others lmao#also listen there is something so nice about 2000s movies#it's not as hectic and loud and flashy as nowadays#the atmosphere has more time to impact you#there is a crudeness (?) to it all that I just love#anyway - I'm continuing my horror marathon#my posts

Just fyi, Train to Busan is one of my absolute favorite horror films, and easily my favorite zombie genre film.
FOR REAL THOUGH, IT DESERVES MORE ATTENTION. As far as I'm concerned it's the best zombie film out there. It is literally perfect And for anyone who HASN'T seen it, SEVEN REASONS WHY TRAIN TO BUSAN IS PERFECT AND THE BEST ZOMBIE MOVIE:
Perfect storytelling - pacing and plotline are all flawless.
Perfect character growth - everyone's got a symbolic arc, everyone is fleshed out as a person (even that HORRIBLE BUSINESS GUY, he's at least Fleshed Out evil), everyone is well-developed. You genuinely grow attached to all of our main characters (except those two bad guys, fuck them).
Perfect characters in general SANG-HWA MY BELOVED including the kid, which is amazing since a lot of movies just make the kid character terrible. But she knocked it out of the park. Also I'm a major simp for Sang-Hwa, he's husband goals.
Perfect symbolism??? The themes on class! Busan being a refuge/safe haven during the Korean war! The way that, unlike a lot of American zombie films where the brutal On Your Own guy is generally right, here teamwork and sacrifice for one another is lauded, and it's the only reason the people at the end lived - because of the sacrifices of those that loved them. Do not let go of one another when things get bleak. The way they manage to retain their humanity is so moving.
Our lead protagonist seeing who he was on the way to becoming in the bad guy. MASTERCLASS MOMENT.
AMAZING SHOTS, THE FUCKING SHOT OF HTEM CHASINGHT E TRAIN OH MY GOD, THE ZOMBIE WAVE WHEN THEY ALL CRASH TOGETHER, THE ZOMBIES IN THE DARK I JUST
Literally never cried so hard watching a zombie movie wtf
Everyone who can tolerate bloody zombie stuff should see Train to Busan, it's a masterpiece.
#train to busan#i love this movie#this movie broke me#but i love it anyway#highly highly recommend to literally everyone#including those who don't normally do horror#although if bloody stuff is not your thing maybe pass#it's not *super* gory but it's a bit gory#and you'll cry a lot but it's still a glorious movie#best zombie movie ever as far as i'm concerned#also i *know* a lot of folks hate subtitles but def do subtitles cause the actors are SO good and the emotion in their voices just#dfalfjdafjda sf i love it#thank you for giving me a chance to talk about it!

Looking at The Boys' Wiki and Supes and whatnot, I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say that Elwin would be able to manifest and control fire, and also have regenerative abilities.
Which isn't to say he can't or won't die -- it's just not going to be a fun time for him if you kill him in any way other than something that'll completely destroy his body.
Ironically, like fire.
#Out of the Flames#please keep in mind I know fuckall about this show and what works and wouldn't work#the only thing I know is that Homelander is like Captain America gone horribly terrifyingly wrong#and also that it's gory. which humorously the gore is the only reason I keep hesitating to watch it#because while I fucking love horror movies and games and so on no matter how graphic they are -- I'm actually super squeamish LOL#every time I have ever watched like a Saw movie for example I cover my ears and close my eyes at the super gory parts

I hope that you people who maliciously attack dark content writers on this app also keep the same energy towards those who write, act in, and produce graphic horror movies and dark content tv shows
#y’all love to police people huh?#it’s fiction you brain dead bozos#like are y’all sending these messages to the wrote#it’s stepcest/incest! have you even watched got or hotd?#it’s so gory! have you watched a horror movie?#there’s SA! if you pick up a horror book there’s probably a scene like that somewhere too#all of it is fiction and all of it is inagernary#I don’t consume some of these contents because they’re triggering for me but that’s why you filter tags and avoid content#people have written dark content for probably hundreds of years#get over it#especially if you’re a minor because all dark content blogs are 18+ anyway

I was falling asleep because it's 4:30 in the morning but then a friend that I have a mild crush on texted me and asked what horror movies corresponds to which areas at camp, and clearly Climbing Wall is Vertigo, Aquatics is Jaws and Ecology-Conservation is The Birds, (these were her assignments) but she wanted to know whether Blair Witch fit Scoutcraft (basic scouting skills) or Handicraft (arts and crafts) more, and I said Handicraft because of the figurine things, then she asked what Scoutcraft would be, and full disclosure, I like horror movies but I don't watch a lot of them. I'm picky. Because I don't like gore or zombies and I have anxiety so it's difficult. Okay. So I literally Googled "outdoor horror movies" and tried to find one that I recognized, and thankfully Midsommar was on that list and I've seen and enjoyed Midsommar, so that's what I said. The only other horror movies I can remember seeing are Cabin in the Woods (masterpiece but doesn't fit) and one I can't remember the name of but it's about a video game and has Frankie Muniz and the guy that played Mary Lightly in Psych. And tbh, most of my horror movies knowledge comes from parody episodes of Psych. Especially the Hitchcock episode. I only knew Vertigo because of Psych. This post was a whole lot of inconsequential nonsense, but I get a pass because it's 4:30am and I'm talking to a cool girl.
#okay shes beautiful. one of the kindest people ive met#shes trans. she works at a summer camp. she knows horror movies. we became fast friends#shes so easy to talk to. we met over a one week long event and the rest of our friendship has been over text#its nice to have someone to talk to about horror movies at 4:30am (3:30am her time)#especially Midsommar because i really love that movie. im trhing to find a way to being up Cabin In The Woods#because its truly my fav horror movie and one of my fav movies period. its so good#'but austyn you said you dont like zombies or gore' stfu this movie is the exception#how can you see the travel mug bong. chris hemsworth die via atv over a ravine. the guy getting killed by a mermaid in beautiful irony#and not think that its the best movie ever written#i could talk about that movie for forever#i asked her fav horror movie and im going to watch whatever one she says#even if its gory and full of zombies. im gonna watch it. in my type of strange way of trying to connect#fuck she said the original texas chainsaw massacre. i feel like thats gonna be gory. but im a man of my word#shesaid she doesn't usually have the patience for movies or tv. truly a woman after my own heart#jk jk im really trying not to be weird i promise. but i dont usually have the attention span for movies or tv (especially movies) either#its almost 5am and i should be asleep but instead im not#now im really feeling some horror. i might make the next book i read horror again#if youve read this far and have any good horror book recommendations pls lmk#edit: i read the plot synopsis for texas chainsaw massacre and i cannot watch it. dear god.

hiii this ask isnt for me but just a question for someone else what are some good horror films that you would recommend for people new to the genre? (preferably ones that arent super gory)
Hi!! Okay, I think for non-gory ones, paranormal type movies might be a good idea? They tend to be way less gory.
So maybe The Others, 1408, Insidious, It Follows, Host, Dark Water, maybe Poltergeist (from what I remember, these movies don't have a lot or gore, but who knows if I'm misremembering). Maybe Oculus as well?
Also any like fun ones or ones aimed for more of a younger crowd tend to be way less gory as well.
Disturbing Behavior, The Faculty, Gremlins. There's also the two Escape Room movies, which aren't like fully horror, but it could work for someone getting into the genre. I think Cube maybe as well, it's similar to Escape Room
Some others I could think of: The Strangers, Hush (there's definitely some blood, but not super gory overall). I think Jordan Peele's movies could maybe work too. Especially Get Out! Again not gore-free, but it's not the main focus of his movies plus they're all just really good!
#i hope im not misremembering on any of these but I don't think any of these were like super gory#maybe Us kinda is. at least there's definitely one scene i remember having more blood#but i dont think any of these have a lot of gore from what i remember#just small amounts or none at all#ty for the ask. always love looking for horror movies to recommend!!!!#horror

People (on the internet) like to talk about how Blood & Cheese was disappointing compared to the book when that was kind of the point?
In the book Blood & Cheese tie up Helaena, Alicent, the twins and Maelor and force Helaena to choose between her two sons or they’d rape them and kill both boys. The climax of the scene hinges on them killing Jaehaerys “striking off the boy’s head with a single blow” instead of Maelor who she chose. Cheese whispered to Maelor “Your momma wants you dead.” It leaves open for interpretation if B&C were always ordered to kill Jaehaerys and were sadists or were ordered to make her choose and kill the opposite. It is something out of a horror movie. “Which son do you want us to kill” is more dramatic than “which one is your son”but the actual death is quick. It ends with “The queen began to scream.”
In the show, it’s a much quieter scene. It’s less initially violent. Alicent’s boinking Cole. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera are asleep. There isn’t a screaming baby too young to understand what’s happening. There isn’t Alicent struggling to get untied or terrified kindergarteners. It’s just Helaena frozen up, recognizing that the nightmare she’s had hundreds of times was a warning. It’s just Helaena, having to point her son out and Cheese almost fucking empathizing w/ her (I may be off but wtf?). It’s Helaena having to tell them which of her children to murder lest they “bleed the lot of ya.” Then she has to listen him screaming as he’s slowly murdered with a blunt knife.
If you’ve ever seen someone relatively unharmed, sober and still in shock at the scene of a fatal car accident, Phia’s acting is dead on.
And find her mom in bed with Cole - which was a choice. I see where the shows going (they blame themselves for choosing to have sex over duty thinking it caused this when in reality them choosing the duty of putting Aegon on the throne over peace caused it (or to go back further the “honor”of becoming queen and kings’ guard)) but sheesh let Alicent be a lesbian FFS.
#i like gore. This scene didn’t need to be gory to get the point across.#We love horror movies in my family - this scene got everyone#I also get why people expected more.#Also why the fuck do they keep leaving it ambiguous if Daemon did the shitty stuff he clearly did in the book?#Let Rhea die of natural causes. Let him say prince for a Day.#Unless the scene jumped to make the reveal more dramatic…..#IDK we should’ve spent more time w/ Jaehaerys too#the point is if this scene was put in a dozen other shows people would be horrified not whelmed#I am also not on the spectrum but extremely sensitive to sound. I will play music while talking to my grand boss if there’s construction in#the office which makes my biased. He 100% thinks I’m neurospicy but hasn’t poked that can of worms yet
