Demonology/Demonolatry Simplified
Lesson 1: Goetia
Goetia is simply the art of invoking demons.
Goetia is a Latin term that derives from the Greek word "Goeteia." It is said to be exclusively a Christian term, although the idea behind it is a widespread ideology.
During the Midevil and Renaissance periods there were 2 very common terms used in Christianity when it came to witchcraft:
- Theurgy/Theurgia (magical craft/ "Good magic")
and
- Goetia (Occult arts)
Goetia is considered the opposite of Theurgy, although it was not necessarily considered bad during this time period.
. . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . .. . .. . .. . . .. . .. . . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. . .... .
What is the "Ars Goetia"?
The "Ars Goetia" is a part of a much larger grimoire of demonology and theurgy, which was written by an anonymous author during the 17th century.
This grimoire is commonly known as "The Lesser Key of Solomon" however the actual name for it is: "Lemegeton Clavicula Solomonis."
This grimoire is separated into 5 different volumes:
Ars Notoria
Ars Almadel
Ars Paulina
Ars Theurgia Goetia
Ars Goetia
"Ars Goetia" literally means "The Art of the Goetia." It gives a detailed list of 72 demons who range from Kings to Presidents in a sort of Heirarchy of Hell.

Right, since @ars-theurgia was asking about my attempts at conlang, here's a basic quickly drawn rundown of how Deitic Common sentence structure works. I don't claim to be any kind of expert at conlanging, but I've picked up a few things from watching how others do it.
Basically D.C. sentences work on a sort of spiral square, with single-word kanji structured around/incorporated into the basic cross layout. Marks at the center of that cross indicate positive or negative emphasis (as well as words like can't, won't, etc.)
In sentences with multiple ideas, they'll be broken down into chunks and stacked, like so. Individual words by themselves also sometimes happen, as is true for language in general.
(also no you don't get translations for that stuff up there, it's spoilers.)
Lastly, as I've mentioned before, long titles like the prince's full name will be written out word by word vertically, but there will always be a shorter, one-symbol nickname available for ease of writing.

Spirit Compass Rose
“Spirit Compass Rose” from the “Ars Theurgia-Goetia“, the Second Book of “Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis“ (”Lesser key of Solomon“) (Mid 17th Century).
“Most of the spirits summoned are tied to points on a compass, four Emperors are tied to the cardinal points (Carnesiel in the East, Amenadiel in the West, Demoriel in the North and Caspiel in the South), and sixteen Dukes are tied to cardinal points, inter-cardinal points, and additional directions between those.
There are an additional eleven Wandering Princes, totalling thirty-one spirit leaders who each rule several to a few dozen spirits.” - From “The Goetia of Dr Rudd” by Stephen Skinner and David Rankine (2010).
Each quadrant is assigned to a lassical element, and the appropriate season for the northern hemisphere is assigned to the cardinal points e.g. Spring for the East (Dawn), Summer for the South (Noon) Autumn for the West (Sunset), Winter for the North (Midnight). The order given here is clockwise.
The names of the Spirits all end in "El", indicating they are angelic or divine in nature.

Aigis' Character Trailer
Since her trailer came out at 1:30 AM in my timezone, I couldn't post much about it 😭 Time to fix that!
The first thing that stood out to me is that the first scene featured in the Japanese trailer is different from the one in the English trailer. Here is a translation of the Japanese scene, courtesy of Eri in the Aikoto Discord Server!
Aigis: In this scene the protagonist is told to 'not break his ass'... But asses are naturally broken. Yours is as well, right?
Makoto: That's a secret.
Aigis: ...Understood. But please tell me one day.
- Translation by Eri
It's safe to assume that the content of the joke is what warranted the change in the English version 😂
Going back to both scenes, the first one seems to be a Reading with Aigis Social Event, while the second one seems to be Makoto reading alone with Aigis popping in to say Hi.
I've been wondering if the Dorm Social Scenes with Aigis would be handled in the same way that her two Koro Walks were. In FES, everyone sits next to Makoto when they walk Koromaru. All except for Aigis that is, who stands at first and only sits down by his side like everyone else once she has had her development.
Going by that first scene however, it seems like Aigis will be sitting down by his side like everyone else from the get-go. As such, it will be interesting to see the little ways in which Aigis' development is shown once January comes around.
Another thing that stood out to me while watching the trailer is that Atlus seems to have carefully chosen the scenes that have already been shown so far in some capacity. The date for the Koromaru event is different from the one shown in Aigis' trailer, but considering that everything else is identical, it is possible that you can trigger it during different dates.
So the only 100% unseen-before scenes we got in the trailer were the studying session in the JP version and Aigis' Theurgia Attack.
Speaking about Aigis' Theurgia attack, it literally gives her wings and seems like something straight out of a magical girl anime!
Considering how unique that is, it's probably not a surprise that Atlus is treating Aigis like a card they want to keep close to their hearts for now 😂
And of course, shot-out to the title of her English Trailer: The Eternal Protector!
