Such an interesting book, this excerpt providing so many stimuli, we see the "neoplatonic" hierarchy of races or beings later on also found in Christianity as well as other world traditions, Buddhism for instance. "Neoplatonism" as we know it today is perhaps the last attempt of ancient Greek philosophy before its decline, a school of thinking and rituals combining Greek ideas with Egyptian and Chaldean ones, a syncretism of sorts. Iamblichus, although of Syrian origins, received Greek education and is one of the most prominent "neoplatonic" philosophers along with Proclus and Plotinus. It's a shame to see what has happened to Syria in our times, the torment and destruction, a land of the wise once and of advanced ancient culture.

“In regard to the extreme races (the gods and souls) the former is chief, superior and perfect; the other is inferior and imperfect. The former can do all things at once uniformly and now; but the other is neither able to do anything completely nor immediately; neither speedily nor individually. The former generates all things and is guardian over them; but the latter has a natural disposition to yield and to turn submissively toward what it generates and has under guardianship. It also takes care of unsouled beings, having been itself born into various forms at different times. From the same causes, order itself and beauty itself are coexistent with the Superior races; or if it is desired so to express it, the First cause is coexistent with these. But with the soul the allotment of intellective order and divine beauty is always associated. With the gods, the measure of all things, or rather the cause of it, is perpetually coordinate; but the soul is confined to the divine limit and only participates of this in a limited degree. With good reason there may be ascribed to the gods dominion over all beings, by the power and supreme authority of the First Cause; but the soul has defined limits within which it can have command. Such being the different peculiarities of the races at the highest and lowest extremes, what we have now been saying may be understood without difficulty, and also the peculiarities of the intermediates, the dæmons and half-gods; these being each next to one of the extremes, resembling both and going out from both to the intermediate region, and so effecting a harmonious union by commingling them and joining them together in due proportions.”

Right, since @ars-theurgia was asking about my attempts at conlang, here's a basic quickly drawn rundown of how Deitic Common sentence structure works. I don't claim to be any kind of expert at conlanging, but I've picked up a few things from watching how others do it.

Basically D.C. sentences work on a sort of spiral square, with single-word kanji structured around/incorporated into the basic cross layout. Marks at the center of that cross indicate positive or negative emphasis (as well as words like can't, won't, etc.)

In sentences with multiple ideas, they'll be broken down into chunks and stacked, like so. Individual words by themselves also sometimes happen, as is true for language in general.

(also no you don't get translations for that stuff up there, it's spoilers.)

Lastly, as I've mentioned before, long titles like the prince's full name will be written out word by word vertically, but there will always be a shorter, one-symbol nickname available for ease of writing.

Spirit Compass Rose

“Most of the spirits summoned are tied to points on a compass, four Emperors are tied to the cardinal points (Carnesiel in the East, Amenadiel in the West, Demoriel in the North and Caspiel in the South), and sixteen Dukes are tied to cardinal points, inter-cardinal points, and additional directions between those.

Each quadrant is assigned to a lassical element, and the appropriate season for the northern hemisphere is assigned to the cardinal points e.g. Spring for the East (Dawn), Summer for the South (Noon) Autumn for the West (Sunset), Winter for the North (Midnight). The order given here is clockwise.

The names of the Spirits all end in "El", indicating they are angelic or divine in nature.
