Wednesdays. How you hated them.

You're currently sitting in your office,having tons of paper to sort out and put into system for company you worked for,the sound of rain hitting the windows,keyboard of your computer clicking as your fingers almost finished all the work,only other sound was little hums you left throughout the time...the sighs,the deep breaths,the melodies that were in your mind.

It was enough of a bad day for you,your period,the stupid rain,the coworkers being annoying..just everything was irritating you,and the tons of work didn't help much.

Only thing that helped your mind ease was Chris..knowing he was at home,waiting for you,made you feel warm and relaxed. He was everything you needed. Nothing else.

As you glanced at the clock on the wall,it was near 01:30pm.

'Just an hour and a half more untill being home.'

You thought to yourself .

Your head pounding and the sudden sound of growling in your stomach breaking the silence. You haven't eaten anything yet,but lunch at home won't be soon enough and at this moment the only thing you wanted was to just lay down,sleep and eat. With a big exhale,you moved the chair and leaned back,rubbing your eyes in exhaustion as your gaze fall to the phone on the desk. Thinking about calling Chris sounded like the best thing possible right now. Without hesitation you picked it up,your finger hovering over his contact before calling him. As soon as he answered you can hear his voice.

'hey ma',what's up?'

'hey baby..nothing..-im just exhausted and bored..wanna be home right now'

Your voice tired and soft over the phone. It was clear you needed rest.

After a long call with Chris,time passed,it was now 2:15pm.

'Ugh,just a little more..'

You said to yourself with a big sigh,wishing the time can just pass as soon as possible.

Fastly enough it was time. The clock hit 3pm. Signaling it was time to go home.

You got in the car and drove to your and Chris's house,opening the doors,the warm cozy atmosphere hitting you immediately,the smell of a welcoming home.Taking your shoes off,and putting your coat away you see Chris waiting for you on a couch,your gaze falling to the table in front of him,with bouquet of flowers and ordered food. You could feel your face grinning into a smile,as he stood up towards you.

'hey baby,m'so glad you're back..finally.'

With a kiss on a forehead he pulled you down on the couch to lay with him.

'how was work darling? anything happened?'

He asked while running his hands through your hair softly.

'no,just ton of works,it was very exhausting today...'

You answered while relaxing into his touch,the headache already feeling better.

'well..we can do something if you want,like go out for a walk or little drive..whatever you feel like doing,im down'

His voice was soft and sincere,always knowing what to say or do to make you feel instantly better.

'mhmm..we can stay home tonight,exactly how we are right now,i don't wanna move,just wanna be like this-close to you..it's all i need at the moment'

Chris instantly got that and just relaxed with you,cuddling you even more and just doing everything he could to be there for you.

'i love you,you know that right?'

His voice suddenly breaks the comfortable silence.The words full of truth and emotions.

'yes baby,i love you too'

The only sound right now was your giggle,you always enjoyed times like this with him.You could do it forever,it was all you needed.

Just Chris,and nothing else. ♡

Matt always told himself he was good at hiding things. Hiding when he was upset, hiding when he was stressed, and most importantly—hiding the fact that he had feelings for his brothers' best friend.

You.

You, who had been around for years.

You, who had practically become part of the family.

You, who always ruffled his hair playfully, who always saved him the last slice of pizza, who never failed to notice when something was bothering him.

And tonight, you were staying over.

Matt swallowed hard as he sat on the couch, trying to focus on whatever movie was playing. His brothers were already knocked out, leaving just the two of you awake. You stretched with a sigh, your shirt riding up just a bit, and Matt forced himself to look away.

"Tired?" he asked, his voice coming out steadier than he expected.

"A little" you admitted, glancing at him with a small smirk. "You okay? You’ve been kinda quiet."

Matt bit the inside of his cheek. "Yeah. Just thinking."

"About what?" - your voice echoing through his ears.

He hesitated. He could lie. He could brush it off. He could pretend that the idea of you lying just down the hall, so close yet so out of reach, wasn’t driving him insane.

Instead, he met your gaze.

"You."

Your expression changed—surprised at first, then something else, something softer. "Matt—"

"I know it’s messed up," he cut in, shaking his head.

"You’re Nick and Chris’s best friend. You’re… off limits. I get it. But I can’t help it. I don’t wanna pretend I don’t want you anymore."

A beat of silence passed before you shifted closer.

"Who said I wanted you to pretend?"- your voice waking something in him immediately that he couldn't control.

Matt barely had time to process that before your lips were on his. It was hesitant at first, as if testing the waters, but when his hands found your waist, you pressed closer, deepening the kiss.

He groaned against your lips, years of pent-up longing spilling over as he pulled you onto his lap.

Your fingers tangled in his hair, tugging slightly, and he let out a low sound that made heat pool in your stomach. His hands grabbing onto your hips, gripping them with his fingers, while your body was moving and grinding onto his lap by itself, it was the motion you just couldn't stop. It felt too good. But so wrong. Soft sounds leaving past your lips, the whines that shushed when Matt kissed you, but the friction between you two just unbearable..

"Are you sure?" he murmured between kisses, his breath warm against your skin.

You nodded. "I’ve been sure for a while. Just didn’t think you were."

Matt huffed a laugh, running his hands under your shirt, fingertips grazing over your warm skin.

"Guess we’ve both been idiots then."

You smiled, leaning down to capture his lips again. As his hands explored, and the night stretched on, all thoughts of "off limits" faded away, leaving nothing but the feeling of each other.

And ofcourse, not waking Nick and Chris up.

The thoughts screaming through your head as you found yourself in Matt Sturniolo’s dimly lit bedroom. At this point you couldn't even remember why you came here at first place,your heart pounding so loudly you were sure he could hear it. The air was thick with tension, a charged silence hanging between you two as he leaned against his desk, arms crossed, that knowing smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as his words snapped you out of your thoughts.

"You’re playing a dangerous game, love." Matt murmured, his voice low, teasing.

You swallowed hard, shifting on your feet. "I’m just—Nick wanted me to grab his charger."

Matt raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying your excuse. "And yet, here you are, standing in my room like you’re waiting for something."

You weren’t sure how you had gotten here, not really. One second, you were hanging out with Nick, your best friend since childhood, and the next, you had found yourself wandering into forbidden territory—Matt’s orbit. He had always been off-limits, an unspoken rule enforced by your friendship with his brother. But rules had never stopped the way your stomach twisted every time he looked at you like that.

Like he was looking at you now.

Matt pushed off the desk, closing the space between you in slow, deliberate steps. Your breath hitched as he reached out, his fingers grazing your arm, featherlight.

"You sure you don’t want something else?" he asked, voice laced with something dark and enticing.

Your throat went dry. You should leave. You should turn around and walk out of his room before you did something you couldn’t take back.

But then Matt reached up, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear, his touch lingering just a little too long.

"You drive me crazy, you know that?" he admitted, his breath warm against your skin.

A shiver ran down your spine. "I do?"

He hummed, tilting his head. "You think I don’t notice the way you look at me? Like you’re trying so hard not to want this."

Your pulse roared in your ears. "Matt—"

He cut you off with a smirk, his fingers trailing down your arm until they reached your hand, his thumb brushing over your knuckles.

"Tell me to stop, and I will. But if you don’t…" His eyes searched yours, dark and full of promises.

You hesitated for only a moment before making the choice that had been lingering at the back of your mind for far too long.

You didn’t tell him to stop.

Instead, you closed the distance, your lips crashing into his in a kiss that was long overdue, full of the tension you had both been holding back for years.

His hands gripped your waist, pulling you flush against him as he deepened the kiss, his lips moving against yours with a desperation that matched your own.

And in that moment, nothing else mattered—not Nick, not the consequences, not the fact that this was a line you shouldn’t cross.

Because some rules were meant to be broken.
