Lie bare beneath me where wanting is needing, and whisper anything at all. Like the first snowfall on still streets, your soft heart beats against me. The space between us is filled with something soft, something infinite and far beyond our understanding.

Nothing could break this kind of quiet. Everything in us has finally settled exactly where it needs to be, against you, against me.

In this moment, we are both the lost and the found.

This is probably the sweetest thing ever said to me

I am so in love with my wife. I know I say that a lot and I post about them all the time, and that it is probably annoying to see so often, but how am I supposed to just... keep something so wonderful to myself? They are so important to me and they mean so much to me!! My wife is the light of my life and they bring me so much joy!! I could talk for hours and hours about them. I could write enough books to fill the biggest library in the world about how much I love them. I could travel the world and learn every language and there still wouldn't be enough words to express how wonderful they are. There aren't enough photo albums or diaries or galleries to hold how I feel about them. I truly believe we were inevitable and I wouldn't want to spend my life with anyone else :3

Warmth engulfs me as I step through the front door. I once told you that if a house doesn't feel warm when you enter, it isn't a home. You laughed a little and said I wasn't stepping foot inside your apartment.

But what I meant to say was— I'd bring your lunch to work if you forgot it, or if you just wanted something that I made for you. I'd cut your sandwiches into hearts and I wouldn't care who could see. I'd light your favorite candle before you got home. I'd leave love notes in your shoes and in between the pages of your book.

The pantry would always have your favorite sweets. I want the other side of the bed to smell like you. I'd make sure your sweaters are warm in the mornings. I'd lace up your boots.

What I meant to say was— I love you, will you come home to me?

Just in case anyone needs to hear this because I know I needed it some days.

it's okay if you relapse; you're not a bad person, you're not a failure. Yes, it is a bad day or maybe even a bad week but that does not, by any means, erase all the hard work you did and all the progress you made and will continue to make in the future.

Addiction and recovery are not linear.

We're human and we fuck up but we can always get better and we can always wipe the dirt off our hand and knees, get up and try again.

Cyclops depth perception; do they have it ???

BONUS: What kind of circumstances would result in the evolution of a cyclops ????

What a great question! From my knowledge, there are animals/creatures that are one-eyed, such as the locust, that do in fact have depth perception, or something that mimics it-- These creatures use motion parallax.

Motion parallax is "the phenomenon where an animal uses its movement, typically by moving its head, to perceive depth by observing how the retinal image of objects at different distances move at different speeds across its vision, allowing it to estimate the distance to those objects."

As an animal moves, the images of nearby objects shift more rapidly across its retina compared to images of distant objects, providing information about it's depth.

I do personally think, despite a lot of the "clumsy stupid cyclops" stereotypes, there is a possibility that they would have depth perception! It just wouldn't be exactly like ours. Also, with anything, I believe that if you were born with something like only one eye you'd learn to adapt just like any creature, and being a cyclops would be no exception to that.

Now, for the second part of your question, to have someone evolve into a cyclops I feel would be highly complex simply because of the amount of changes and "deformities" that would have to occur almost simultaneously.

In vertebrates, cyclopia is caused by a trisomy (extra chromosomes). In fact some human are even born with cyclopia due to trisomy. This study "describes the prevalence, associated malformations, and maternal characteristics among cases with cyclopia." A total of 257 infants with cyclopia were identified and predominantly female. However most born with cyclopia usually don't survive past the first couple weeks. The reason the survival rate is so low is due to trisomy 13. It's not to say that this is always a death sentence --the oldest person reported with Patau syndrome (without mosaicism) is 32 years old-- but it makes the odds very low.

On a highly theoretical basis when it comes to evolution, one way that this could happen would have to be because of survival. If the ability to see directly forward was crucial to our survival, we may evolve a single central eye, though as we are now, it would still need extreme circumstances.

It could also be caused by a genetic mutation where the primary facial features are not properly separated, resulting in that iconic single eye. However, this would mostly be considered a severe developmental abnormality and not a viable evolutionary outcome.

That's just my thought process though. I'm sure there are people out there that could have a much better idea about this :)

Great question! He'd bounce! Have you seen him? Incredibly resilient. I think he'd probably float in water he's so buoyant -- And fun fact, you can push him off ledges in Infinity Nikki but you gotta go inch by inch. He even has a voice line for it. Based on the previous games, he'd call you slurs but he'd hide them behind a very thin veil and they'd be quite creative :)

At the end, there will only be me and I have to take care of her. No one will take care of me as well as I can care for myself. I have to nurture and water the best and most delicate parts of me. I have to put me first otherwise what is soft and beautiful in me is going to rot and wither.
