SHES TRYING, thespell is minor it can only do so much, she's not built to be a healer

Shes a magic user, there's a difference, ether way the bleeding stops, there's still an injury however, the spell can't be pushed further then that unfortunately

Im sorry Mr Aoki, that's the limit of this spell I can try to find another-

The book starts flipping through itself, it eventually closes

How ironic is it for him to die to the same mercy he misguidedly provided? A quiet death, surrounded by comfort and care, unable to think straight…

Im gonna copypaste what ibwas telling my friend about it earlier bc it is . A lot

okokokok excuse all the typos im very excited i got out my laptop tp type all this out aneverythign

so it starts off like a dnd campaign right . group of adventurers meet in a tavern yknow the standard thing and were introduced to the main character tally . shes like this cool teifling flavored traveling musician

anyway after a bit of time and character development used to get the reader attached to thr group + the group attached to each other (very found family) Everyone Fucking Dies except tally, who watches it all happen and is unable to do anything about it

tally mentally just fuckin. shuts down for a while. never leaves her bedroom, never sees the sun, barely eats or drinks anything, just basically rotting away in her blanket cocoon

Until. Until.

she finds this book. and it gives her a spell to turn back time . and for the first time in like a year, she has hope. after weeks of running herself ragged trying to cast the spell, she does it. she sends herself back to the day they all met in the tavern. now she can stop them from dying. she can save all of them.

and she does, for a time. but one way or another, they all end up dead. and every time, she sends herself back to save them only to watch them all die again and again and again.

she doesnt even realize shes slowly being corrupted from the inside out. the only "consequence" from the spell she can see are little tattooed lines that show up on her body with no rhyme or reason.

eventually, it goes beyond just trying to save them. after all, tallys mastered that spell now, so why shouldnt she experiment with it? why *shouldnt* she do whatever she wants? she can just reset the timeline at will, so nothing matters. nothing she does will ever have consequences. shes just playing with the people she once called family like dolls at this point. and yet, in her head, she still thinks shes doing the right thing. that shes still just doing all of this to keep them safe .

BUT THEN .

something happens and they all gain back their memories of not only the original timeline, but *every other timeline that had happened*. hundreds, at this point. maybe even thousands. no not thousands but you get the idea there were a Lot

they confront tally and she goes on this. insane rant abotu how what she was doing was good, how she was protecting them, how that should be *thanking* her, but when met with the cold betrayed stares of her "family", she just shrugs and grins and is like "Well. not like youll remember this anyway" and goes to reset the timeline again (at thisn point she can do it with just a snap of her fingers)

but as soon as she snaps her fingers, the timeline doesnt reset. instead the sky itself cracks open. the lines that had appeared on tallys body reveal themselves to be eyes. tens of glowing eyes full of malice. before anyone can react, *something* starts pulling itself out of the rift. some kind of elderich horror

tally is completely unfazed by all of this. in fact, shes overjoyed to the point of mania. this thing is her "god", the one that had set into motion her learning thespell to begin with.

fights happen first with tally then the monster thing, blah blah blah AND THEN .

something inside tallys head changes. she realizes how much she had been used by this thing. this monster. how she had become the very thing shed been trying to protect her friends from. and in a moment of beautiful tragedy, she sacrifices herself to force the monster back through the rift and close it, leaving her trapped on the other side.

in the process, she resets the timeline one last time, to before she had done anything to her friends.

She saved them all. she saved them all and they would never remember her or know what she had done for them.

Im half tempted to twist the knife one last time for the ending and make the rest of the group not even meet bc tslly is like . Their binding force or something

Anyway the working title is rewind but idk if ill keep it that
