remembering waking up post-op after my breast reduction is SO FUNNY because it's such a wild thing to have a Fond Memory of. but I distinctly remember croaking "hell yessss" to my surgeon after he told me I was done and everything went great.
#yes I was weak yes I was in pain but I was SO happy#I was still hooked up in my arm when I woke up and got dosed for the pain pretty much immediately#as soon as I was able to answer the basic Pain Scale question that my nurse asked me#I'm pretty sure I reported a seven out of ten which was not so bad#and then she dosed me Accordingly lmao#but this is what I'm saying. I woke up in a 7/10 for pain. and I also yarfed a little from post-anesthesia nausea#and still it is such a positive memory and I was jazzed as fuck#I think it must be funny to be the surgeon in this scenario because your patient is way more excited#upon waking up from a major surgery than really anyone should be. lmao#if I had been able to raise my arms I would've high fived him.#sergle.txt#I could talk about my surgery forever. having a Positive Medical Experience is a high you never come down from

Anyway tua just proves to me that shorter seasons are bullshit cause if it had more episodes per season they would have had more time to actually explore storylines and flesh certain things out a bit more and make some details clearer etc
#even if it was just like 10 episodes per season or even 8#theyre trying to tell too much story to try and cram it into 6 episodes of a tv show#the last episode was so confusing#it raised more questions than it answered#not good for a series finale#(but they did have time to have megan mulally and nick offerman dancing to cher for. some reason)#(not the dance scene anybody wanted nor was it necessary !)#tua#the umbrella academy#ellies shitchats

Hi GT! What are your thoughts on the house elf discourse? Do you think Hermione is entirely correct in her opinions?
Canonically, I think the books are working really hard to make the reader believe that Hermione is at least partially wrong about house-elves, because JKR did a whoospie and accidentally introduced chattel slavery in her children's book. That's the Doylist perspective. To that extent, Hermione's stance is demonstrably flawed in the text; the house-elves are offended by Hermione trying to "free" them, and Ron scolds her for not taking their wishes into account. This is all tonally jarring and completely at odds with the series's ostensible line on equality, which is that sentient beings are equal, and the people arguing for some natural hierarchy of sentient beings are usually, in fact, the bad guys.
Taking a slightly more good-faith reading, you can also see this as an exploration of parts of Hermione's character. Hermione does have a patronizing and imperious streak, and it is in character for her to ignore the house-elves' desires because she thinks she knows what's best for them. And there is a pretty compelling argument for Hermione as the type of activist who doesn't listen to the victims she's fighting for, because she assumes she always knows best. I see that in her character. I think the way she goes about the house-elf debate, canonically speaking, reveals those faults. But does any of that mean she's wrong about the house-elves? Like, are we really supposed to trust that these creatures, who have been enslaved for generations by a class of powerful magic-users, are honest when they say they're happy? Why should we take that at face value? Whether or not the house-elves "like" doing their work does not end the debate. Oppression is way more complicated than that. Hermione has fairly good reasons to doubt that the house-elves might "want" to be enslaved. She doesn't articulate those reasons terribly well; but she's fourteen, so I don't hold it against her that she hasn't self-engineered the concept of false consciousness. But I do kind of hold it against the books that the debate never progresses beyond that point. I especially hold it against the books that the debate doesn't continue when Harry literally comes into possession of a house-elf, and becomes a "master," which would in another universe be a rich opportunity to revisit the subject in a more mature way.
#basically I think dobby was originally meant to say more about the malfoys than he was about house-elves#and then the question goes away for POA because jkr doesn't intend to bring up house-elves again#and it comes back in GOF because winky becomes relevant to the plot#so it has to be addressed as a systemic question rather than an individual one#like here's the thing. jkr is a smart writer. she realizes that some of her plot moves raise structural questions#that the book has to answer. she spends a lot of time working on plot. arguably it's the part of writing she cares about most#i think her worldbuilding habits get in the way of her plotting#and sometimes her plotting creates problems for her worldbuilding

How do you think Velvet flirts with Coco?
This is one of the funniest asks I ever got and im glad cause this is just gold. Like how does the Bun™️ woo her stupid bozo??
————
I have my biased takes on what Coco and Velvet are like as characters, but to start off I wanna focus on what Vel brings to the table.
I think a lot of people have moe’d her down to a nervous/scaredy bunny girl and…that’s not her at all. She’s a real multilayered character who can and will kick your ass flat. She’s also…
- very very attentive to people
- excellent at memorizing things she sees and hears, and quickly at that
- very emotionally in tune with people, herself included
- insanely kind and helpful
- honest about her feelings and will voice her thoughts when ready
Also she’s a bunny like come on. Is baby. It’s impossible to not find her likable.
I can go on forever, but I think these are enough likable traits to work with.
Time to shift. Now we focus on what I think Coco likes in a person:
- Hot girls
- Complexity
- Someone true to their nature
- Some sense of honor
- Someone striving to learn and to better themselves
Hopefully it’s not lost here, but there’s some compatibility don’t you think? Velvet’s got some of those traits that Coco likes.
————
So where’s the flirting? It’s coming I swear, I just needed the background info to help support the answers.
Bun bun flirts two ways: intentionally and unintentionally. The latter is usually what’s happening most often.
Her intentional flirting is what you would expect. Some cheeky words, being a playful tease in her actions like when she flashed her camera in After the Fall. I think she would 1000% take advantage of her physique and incredibly vast skillsets. She is totally totally showing off during training and sparring. Coco might hide her gaze under her glasses but that dumb bitch is so easy. So so easy…
Now her unintentional flirting is basically that Velvet is just doing her thing. She’s comfortable and loved by her team. With them she’s able to be herself and have fun, and that’s what coco loves most. Seeing Velvet thrive and not feel like she has to hide herself away from the world, and with it comes moments and actions that make Coco, much to her surprise, fall for Velvet.
I guess simply put, Velvet flirts by being her cheeky self around Coco, and her leader falls for her every time.
#fooze#smugm3ss#rwby#rwby fanart#velvet scarlatina#rwby velvet#coco adel#rwby coco#crosshares#rwby crosshares#of course these are just my playful opinions#but yeah I mean these two kiddos are funny and idiot goobers but they’re also so sugary sweet to each other#without any compromise to their personalities either#I just wanted to answer this already but I had a lot more tender moments planned for these two to show#I’m a firm believer that they’re perfectly made for each other. they kinda remind me of bees but just. different you know?#wow Fooze so much stuff to answer a simple question~ SORRY IDK I HAVE THOUGHTS and it takes months to get them out okay?!?!#probably doesn’t even make sense either!#anyways velvets favorite pastime is raising coco’s bp just by looking at her for longer than 5 seconds#sorry if this is also formatted weird I’ll fix it tomorrow if need be

(One more) Top 10 Gintaka moments
Arranged chronologically because it was too difficult to choose. Spoilers ahead.
1. First victory

After going day after day to the Shouka Sonjuku for an undetermined amount of time, Takasugi achieves his first victory against Gintoki. Understanding that he was weak, he defined him and Shouyou as his goal to reach. Thus, chasing Gintoki's back became an objective that he maintained throughout his life. But at this moment, Gintoki was really upset because Takasugi popped his cherry… his defeat cherry, that is (ch. 517).
2. The courtesan incident

After a fight between Gintoki and Takasugi, Sakamoto appears to say that the better friends they are, the more they fight. He also reveals that the reason for their latest conflict was that they both chose the same girl when they went to the red-light district, and she preferred Takasugi. This provoked an attack from Gintoki, but then Tatsuma added that the girl said he only drank and turned out to be very boring, which also provoked an attack from Takasugi, who was in the vicinity despite their previous fight (ch. 453).
3. We like petty wars

Back in the Joui War, when Sakamoto is injured, Takasugi is the first to speak to him, albeit harshly. Nevertheless, Takasugi seems relieved that Sakamoto survived and won’t keep risking his life. However, Gintoki intervenes, challenging the notion of quitting and affirming that Sakamoto can continue fighting, but in his own way. In an instant, both Gintoki and Takasugi agree to hunt down Sakamoto's attacker, declaring that they enjoy petty wars, i.e. not for grand ideals but to protect their loved ones. Naturally, this agreement turns into another competition to see who finds the guy first (ch. 568).
4. Give my regards

In spite of being estranged, they both say the phrase "give my regards to sensei for me" as a tribute to their master and a reminder of the legacy he left in their lives to those responsible for his death, showing them that Shouyou still lives. This also demonstrates how they are still united by the same emotional root while reflecting the duality of the paths they chose (chs. 397/398).
5. Pride

Being in Rakuyo and facing an imminent threat, Bansai believes that Gintoki is going to fight for the pride of the samurai, to which he responds that he is not interested in that, but his source of pride lies in both winning and losing against Takasugi many times, and that is the pride he is not willing to lose. In this way, Gintoki acknowledges that he still holds onto the respect and camaraderie they once shared (ch. 569).
6. Friggin' awful

When the Joui 4 were fighting, Gintoki is isolated from the rest and is ambushed by a huge machine that threatens him with a cannon. Before he can react, Takasugi comes to his aid, sabotaging the weapon in front of Gintoki's perplexed gaze. Then, both attack the mecha together as they tease each other, Takasugi asking how it feels to be saved by him who has just woken up from a coma, while Gintoki flips the question around, asking how it feels to have to be protected by him in the first place. To this, both respond that it's the worst, as an explosion occurs behind them. But they play it cool, because cool guys don't look at explosions (chs. 574-575).
7. Shouldn't interfere

Matako and Takechi have been tracking Takasugi and, after two years, finally found him. However, Matako hesitates about whether they should continue following him after seeing him fighting alongside Gintoki, feeling unsure of what to do, also recognizing that it was the first time she saw him acting silly and carefree. Similarly, the ship's captain comments that they both looked like ordinary no-good brats, which not only shows the camaraderie between them but also that they are happy being together (ch. 683).
8. Holding hands

While infiltrating the Terminal, Gintoki and Takasugi held hands twice. The first time was when the stairs they were climbing with Zura were destroyed, so Gintoki extended his hand, and Takasugi managed to grab it. The second time was when they were attacked while climbing the steel cables of an elevator. Here, Gintoki grabs Takasugi's hand to prevent him from falling and throws him towards a door. There was almost a third occasion where Takasugi was going to help Gintoki, but to no one's surprise, he was stabbed before he could do so (ch. 699).
9. Use me

Takasugi urges Gintoki to use his body as a shield, to which Gintoki seemingly agrees. They fight together, protecting each other and deceiving their enemies with strategies they can devise in an instant without speaking, demonstrating how well they know each other. Takasugi uses himself as bait to help Gintoki attack the terminal, but when he decides to sacrifice himself, Gintoki comes running to push him out of danger, a decision for which the enemy mocks him, saying he wasted his chance just because he couldn't bear to lose Takasugi (ch. 700).
10. Mutual support

Takasugi smiles while watching Gintoki reunite with the Yorozuya, something he urged him to do on multiple occasions since they reunited because if there is one thing he wants, it is for Gintoki to be happy. With the little strength he has left, he takes Gintoki's bokuto again and uses it to support himself, symbolizing how Gintoki helps him move forward. Similarly, in his final fight against Utsuro, Gintoki declares that Takasugi is in his soul while seeing his spirit protecting him. Thus, Gintoki holds his sword and defeats the enemy with Takasugi's aid. This is the second time they exchange swords in the series but, unlike the first, here it is more explicit that the other's soul is what helps them do what they have to do (chs. 701/703).
Part (1) (2) (3) (4) (Bonus)
#Gintama#Sakata Gintoki#Takasugi Shinsuke#gintaka#takagin#Gin using foul language since he was a kid...#The courtesan scene raised more questions than answers#About the “heavens” flashback... I'm just gonna say Sorachi could've perfectly included Zura and Sakamoto in there#Instead he'd Takasugi monologuing about the heavens and just thinking about Gintoki protecting him lmao#I can write#Top 10 Gintaka moments#my post

Vore world where reformation is a technological gift from a higher life form who saw this vore society struggling, due to the rampant cannibalism. And they decided that the best way to solve it was to give prey the ability to be revived but only in cases of being eaten by a predator. It doesn’t cover other mortalities.
This technology is so complex that no scientist can unravel it, and many people take it as a divine miracle. There are religious sects dedicated to the reformation phenomenon.
For most people, you accept that there’s a chance you will be eaten by a predator. It will be one of the most painful things you can imagine, but you’ll make it out alive and unscathed so really not that bad. An inconvenience at most. But prey know that the damage is very temporary, which makes it easier to handle.
This would explain why prey are not terrified out of their gourd when being hunted by a predator. They’re annoyed and many (although there are exceptions) don’t want to be eaten. It’s not the end of the world though. And maybe they will be offered financial compensation, depending on where they live
#my vore worldbuilding#one of the reasons i don't usually like reformation is because it raises more questions than it answers#and i don't really like the ones where it's like they have reformation machine or something. unless it's specifically a scifi story otherwi#it seems out of place#not that these concepts are objectively bad they're just not what i like to see#but that being said. The idea of it having a reason to exist without having to get into the details#but with it still having implications etc. i think for me it is enough to fill the plot hole#and also. Sometimes the idea of perma vore doesn't make sense because why is everyone okay with this. i guess if you're used to it#but still. it's kind of a lot#tw vore#soft vore#v/ore#v.ore#vore fic#digestion#vore reformation#voreblr#mdni

There goes to show light (random comic in-world rule that characters can trans people can acquire immortality by transitioning) can be found even in the darkest places and darkest moments of our lives (scott lobdell's writing)

♠ — IF YOU WERE A DEITY, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DOMAIN?
WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE. you are the divine guardian of truths both knowable and unknowable, of all words and languages spoken and unspoken. much like Death itself, you are perhaps one of the least understood of all deities, and yet the secrets you hold are highly sought after by scientists, philosophers, and theologians alike.
the origin of all innovation, your realm is the source of crucial advances in architecture, agriculture, political governance, and military strategy which have allowed many civilizations to become a dominant force in the mortal realm. your domain may also include the forces of magic and mysticism, and many cautionary tales exist among mortals of those who have unwittingly destroyed themselves or lost their minds in the reckless pursuit of mysteries and technology far beyond their comprehension.
your mythological equivalents are greece’s athena, egypt’s thoth, mesopotamia’s enki, and india’s ganesha.

yes, sex positions :)
Thank you for clarifying. Hickey doesn’t have a favourite sex position. Tozer’s favourite is missionary because he’s a romantic sap. Irving likes whatever position lets him see himself penetrate hickey without looking at hickey’s face. Fitzjames likes being ridden if he’s in a good mood, and whatever pinned position he can manhandle hickey into when he’s in a bad mood. Little likes whatever hickey wants to do. Goodsir does not like sex.
