Sounds cliche, but I think he would really enjoy trying foods from where you're from, especially some of the more ‘unusual’ ones(I literally found out the other day that pb&j sandwiches are considered weird in Korea??)

I think you two would accidentally confuse each other with lesser known cultural differences, like when he first asks you to be official after only like two dates(which is normal in korean culture, but not so much in western dating)

Would become very aware of the prejudices and discrimination that foreign couples deal with in both your countries. Like, obviously he was aware it was an issue before, but dealing with it first hand made him realize just how much of an issue it was.

It would make his heart soo happy to see you learning how to speak Korean or embracing different parts of his culture.

I might be projecting a lil bit, but I can honestly see him having a foreign partner. Idk, I just see him not really paying much mind to things like race/nationality, he likes who he likes and that’s it.

Might be a little shy about how much more comfortable you are with things like casual skinship tho, but he also kinda secretly loves it.

He would really love that you’re so direct sometimes, rather than trying to ask for things in a more roundabout ‘polite’ way that is considered proper in Korean culture. He would love that you’re to the point, like him.

Despite being pretty well versed in a lot of other cultures, he would definitely still have little moments of culture shock over random things like educational systems. Like I can imagine his surprise/confusion over the more lax approach in some schools or someone being homeschooled(hi).

Would be super impressed if you already knew some korean when you met, but if not, he’s more than happy to help you learn.

seonghwa tells you compliments at the most random time as if they’re the most normal thing, he doesn’t sees it as something out of the ordinary, making you blush almost immediately and loves to see your surprised expresión, how you shyly mumble a “thank you” how he knows he made you happy, that he brighten up your day and that you’ll react exactly the same the next time.

hongjoong is usually super busy so you think he doesn’t notice if you changed something about how you looked but he does, he notice everything and he compliments you every time he sees the change. he thinks everything looks good on you, so he gets confused by your surprised, shy expression so he takes a mental note to compliment you even more often and to help you work on that self esteem.

yunho compliments you at every single opportunity he has, he wants to make sure you feel beautiful and loved so daily compliments it’s his way of making sure. he loves when you say them back, big smile on his face when he tells you something and even bigger when he hears a compliment back. yunho pays close attention your mood so he knows to compliment you at the right time.

yeosang thinks more than he talks, so compliments are not often but they’re precious, always making each other blush a bit, he really wants to tell them more often and he’ve warmed up lots since your relationship started, but his compliments always caught you of ward and make you smile all day, so when he sees you randomly smiling he knows it’s because of him.

san lives to make you smile and since he loves getting compliments too it becomes some sort of competition, trying to see who can make the other one blush first. he has a big simile on his face for most of the time and usually wins the “competition” but he doesn’t get upset when he loses because he thinks that getting that amount of compliments out of you it’s a win on it’s own.

mingi thinks you’re the cutest and won’t waste an opportunity on letting you know, is not with the intention of making you feel shy or blush but he can’t help feeling proud when it happens, a big smile on his face is proof of it. even though he does it often it does caught you of guard because it’s at random times, mid sentence sometimes, he just says it when he thinks it, making you blush at the moment while he smiles and keeps going.

wooyoung lives to get a reaction out of you, he loves to tease you or to randomly give you compliments just to see your face after it, watching you blush from something he said makes him feel so proud it’s not even normal anymore but he keeps it going until you tell him to stop or someone tells him to shut it, he just loves your reactions and telling you compliments. he secretly expect you to do the same, he loves compliments.

jongho is more of action and thought, not spoken words, so when he does compliment you out loud it’s such a pretty moment thar makes the both of you a blushy mess. you compliment him back and he doesn’t know what to say , a big smile on his face it’s proof enough that he loved it. after that it’s just a lot of “thank you”s and some nervous laughs, the moment might get awkward but they are always well appreciated by the both of you.

I know I've been pretty quiet lately (the last two surprise fics aside) and that this year has been generally sparse on content, but I just wanted to rap with y'all for a sec.

First, I'm super grateful for all the kindness and support I've received, despite not being super active. Having nearly 1k followers here as a fic writer, especially with the way things are on this particular website rn, is wild to me. Even if only a few of you are still online, I'm really thankful.

Second, my new year’s resolution is to write more (shocking, I know), but that includes my original work as well, so I can't predict what the fic output might be. Regardless, I've got multiple things in the works rn and my interest in my current fandoms has not waned a bit. There might even be a curveball here and there, we'll see.

Third, in case you were worried about Liminality bc it hasn't been updated in well over a year, never fear! Part 3 is DONE and I'm just trying to decide on a posting schedule. Liminality is going to be a big big big project, and I'll be real with you, it's going to be a WIP for a very long time, so I understand why people might be hesitant to read it rn and that interest (and patience) will fade as fans naturally drift away from p5, and that does make me a bit nervous; however, I'm still very committed to and excited about this story, and I sincerely appreciate all the love it's gotten so far as well as everyone who sticks with it or takes a chance on it in the future. Y'all rock so hard.

I simply cannot stress enough how much it means to me that people read and enjoy my work. Finishing and posting fic still feels new to me, as I've always thought of myself as someone who burns out quickly and can't follow through on anything, so becoming a writer with a distinct style and works that people remember and recognize over the past few years has challenged this sort of low opinion I had of myself and actually affected how I approach things outside of fanfiction as well. It's a learning process that I'm still experiencing and I owe a lot of it to you guys, random people on the internet who took the time to read and like my stuff.

Third, and hopefully finally. I play with character AIs a lot, just to kind of see how characters would react to certain things. When a human comes up with it, it just feels more raw and expressive. Or something. I have no clue what I'm saying; hopefully it's not too muddled. Then, when someone DRAWS it. I’ve written to you before a very long time ago about things not going very well for me, and things are better now. Thank you for your compassion to a stranger then. It’s given me ideas as someone who also enjoys writing. I’m sure you’ve got variations of this question before so I’m sorry if I’ve missed those somehow but any advice on how to start writing and sharing your writing publicly? Like I created an account to send you this but I have no clue about anything really. Will I seem like a random interloper in the fandom who has arrived out of the blue 😭 I guess my concern is I’ll realize I’m actually not good at writing at all or worse nobody will read any of it. I feel awkward about actively promoting my work too. I don’t want to be famous or anything but it would suck if nobody wanted to read my stuff. You’re something of a stalwart at least for the fandom/genre/pairings you regularly write for and while I won’t aspire to that, how did you deal with self-doubt as an early writer? I know it’s not like I hope to earn money out of this or anything so opinions are just opinions but all my writing feels so personal to me that I’m worried about being convinced nobody cares about what I have to say. How does one really get their start at all. I’m sorry to bother you with all this but I’m super lost. It’s just that if someone’s terrible day or week could be made a little better because of my work, as your work regularly does for people, that would be nice. I hope you’re doing really well and randomly find something you’ve been looking for!

And oh my gosh, I don't think anyone will think of you as an interloper!!! Fandom is a community and the more the merrier imho! The x Reader community in particular is super welcoming and very nonjudgmental and the perfect place to get your start; almost everyone here is super nice and really chill. People will surprise you with how much nicer they are than you expect; I think you should just take a leap of faith and jump in!!

But just in case, let me give you the most realistic and straightforward advice I can. It's easy to dip your toes in and test the waters but I think you will need the below pieces of advice if you plan to battle self-doubt and continue writing & publishing fic without burning out or going nuts in the long term lol.

1. Find balance in the source of your self-worth

With publishing anything online, you always hope that people will like it and will want to engage with it. On tumblr the best measurement we have of that is notes, and on ao3 kudos + comments. Notes/comments/kudos are incredible and will make you feel more cherished than anything in the world. I will always appreciate them more than I can say, but one thing it is essential to know is that they are external sources of validation, and it is extremely dangerous to attach your sense of worth solely to the actions of other people.

If you want to publish fic, you will need to also find some internal sense of worth in your writing. You will need to finely balance that with how much you treasure the feedback of other people in order to stay afloat long term.

I recommend really sitting down and thinking about what you are writing/what you want to write, and why it is worth it to you. What makes your fic interesting to you? What are you doing differently than other people that makes you unique? What does your authorial voice sound like? Answering these questions will help you identify what you are bringing to the table as an author, so you know what it is that you do well, even if people aren't engaging the way you want, or even if you're receiving criticism.

For me, I really find value in the places I diverge from other fic authors. People really love writing powerful hero readers, but I usually write quirkless side characters who have somehow found themselves the main character. Chaptered/long fics are also less common in our fandom than oneshots, but I typically write chaptered fics! And I have a stylistically simple and light voice which is easily accessible.

All of these help me know that I'm bringing some fun distinct stuff to the table, even if what I'm bringing isn't perfect or necessarily as popular. And even if I enjoy other peoples' fics and authorial voices more than my own; I'm still bringing something unique and valuable!! So even when people aren't picking up every single thing I'm putting down, I still know the value of putting them down anyway.

2. Manage expectations

I think it can be easy to compare ourselves with one another, especially if you follow some well-established authors or people writing for super popular characters. Even I succumb to jealousy on occasion; it's just human nature. But it's important to know people will engage with different types of fics in different ways and that other people's success has nothing to do with your own.

I think you should set realistic expectations for how people will engage with your fics depending on what it is that you want to write. Some fandoms are much larger than others and therefore have a wider built-in audience. Some characters are also wildly more popular than others so it is likelier fics for those characters will go a bit further. In my experience, people really gravitate towards smutty scenarios or headcanons, sometimes oneshots, and less so chaptered fic. And some authors have been around for forever, or post constantly so that they are regularly drawing people in, and therefore have a larger reader pool than other authors.

So think about what you are writing, for which characters, and in which fandoms, and level your expectations accordingly. For me, even though Shouto is fairly popular, he also only has roughly 1/3 of Bakugou's level of popularity. So I never try to gauge the success of a Shouto fic in comparison to a Bakugou fic I've written, or even the Bakugou fics of other more established Bakugou writers.

This, combined with my own internal sense of worth as a writer, helps me feel like I'm doing pretty good for myself, even if I get like, 30 notes on a fic compared to someone else's 300 or something.

3. Understand that writing is a growing process!

One other essential tip is to understand that writing is a skill set than can be refined and honed. What you write one day is not indicative of where your skill level will sit the next day. And so critique you receive, or mistakes you have made, are really less indicative of failure and more tools to help you get to the next level.

This is one I've personally struggled with, but it can be worth it to be open to feedback that is not necessarily complimentary, with the caveat that you should know what is objective constructive criticism, and what is more subjective/personal preference. The latter you can disregard, because tailoring a fic to some random person's arbitrary tastes is not going to help you tell a good story lol.

But people telling you what they would like to see more of or things that didn't make sense to them can help you understand where you can make improvements to your writing. And it's not to say your writing is not good enough where it is; only to say there are avenues for you to develop even more experience.

For me, this has largely been in the area of smut lol. I liked my lil vanilla smut scenes, but I used to commonly get a fair amount of feedback wishing they were spicier. And, after initially getting defensive lmao, I could see how that was a common piece of feedback across multiple critiques, and I understood how drawing those scenes out might help contribute to the feeling of intimacy, satisfaction, and closure I want to develop at the end of a fic!!

I think being open to feedback while understanding that critique does not in any way take away from your talent overall, can only help you preserve the satisfaction you have with your writing, and help you refine in the future!! It keeps writing interesting, and keeps your sense of self-worth tied up in the process of writing, not necessarily the product of the writing, if that makes sense.

Anyway that's what I can think of for now. Even with all this advice listed out, I think you should just have hope and trust in people and dive right in. It sounds like you are an earnest person wanting to make heartfelt connections, and in my experience people will reflect that energy right back at you!!

So I saw the Super Mario Bros movie the other day and I have Thoughts And Opinions™ on a couple things (idk what counts as a spoiler but it's all under the 'keep reading' just to be safe) P.S.: Damn this got longer than expected 💀

First and foremost, we all know it's not a masterpiece. It's not meant to be life-changing, it's meant to be fun. It's meant to entertain kids who have little to no knowledge of the Mario Bros games AND avid Mario fans at the same time, and I think the movie managed to do it pretty well.

I've read a few comments saying they didn't like the pace, that it was weird and fast. Y'all. That's how you keep a kid's attention. Hell, that's how you keep MY attention (as someone with ADHD). It's colourful, funny, and has great upbeat songs that had the whole theatre smiling and doing little dances in their seats and even singing along! And most important: the kids were DELIGHTED, they weren't talking or walking around out of boredom AT ALL, they were completely engrossed in the movie, we all were.

And now that I've made clear I liked the movie a lot, let's move on to less favorable opinions, random thoughts and such.

They better be making a Luigi centric movie soon because what the fuck was that. Yeah I get the Main Character is Mario but you can't have Luigi 'disappear' from most of the movie AFTER BEING IGNORED BY HIS FAMILY AT DINNER. "He was a prisoner" well have him try to escape or something! I don't care! I just need him to be appreciated!

Also we know Mario trained but... when did Luigi learn how to fight for the final battle? [New headcanon unlocked: Luigi is a natural at fighting but tries to avoid it at all costs because he's scared]

Loved Princess Peach, what a girlboss. Would've liked to see her girlbossing even more but yeah. Chef's kiss.

MARIO AND LUIGI. Their relationship, how they care for each other, how fucking happy and relieved they are to be reunited I just-- flawless, perfect, incredible, 100000/10.

Bowser just wanted to be happy okay? I know that's not how one does things but... he was trying. I'm sad now.

Also Bowser's hot and the voice they've given him in Spanish was a great nice amazing surprise.

Luigi saving Mario and joining forces for the final battle? Sharing the star? I teared up that was so GOOD. (Does not make up for the lack of Luigi in the rest of the movie but it's a good start.)

Still not over the cuteness of the second post-credit scene.

Loved the bowuigi scenes, didn't know that much bisexuality could be conveyed in so little time. Another win for the community. Hey Nintendo I've got a few ideas for a Bowuigi movie if you're interested.

The DK & Mario scenes are phenomenal and there aren't enough words to describe how perfect their conversation inside the eel was.

Three random idiots were transmigrated into bodies of Konoha toddlers during the kyuubi attack. Each thinking they’re the only one who remembers a past life, they each try to hide it. Coincidentally, they are all assigned to Hatake Kakashi’s genin team since they were only average academy students and don’t have parents to complain about their children being failed via bell test, which happened with the last three teams he was assigned. What follows is three fools trying to hide their knowledge from each other and their jounin-sensei while desperately trying to reach chunin fast enough that Kakashi can teach the actual team seven, and a jounin-sensei who is very confused by his three genin but has so few (read: zero) points of reference for normal twelve year olds raised during peacetime that he can’t tell if they’re weird or not.

fucking hilarious. i'm not usually into multi-inserts but oh my GOD these three are disasters, and kakashi is just so confused. a series of assumptions from all three PLUS kakashi convincing them all that they're Normal.

since you’re a pro when it comes to the intricacies of aaron’s life with reader, do you think aaron’s arrangement with jessica would change once he’s in a serious relationship with reader and eventually married? for all intents and purposes, she essentially co-parents jack 1. to keep him connected to Haley but 2. bc aaron wouldn’t be able to work the way he does without someone else also caring for jack. with time reader essentially becomes his “mom” so would his time with jessica change? like i envision she’s still apart of the family and maybe jack spends a weekend with her every month or she babysits occasionally, but that naturally the time would decrease cause there isn’t a need for him to be spending a whole week with her or for her to be handling all his activities. i also always hoped show wise that Jessica had time to pursue the things she wanted whether it be a certain career, relationship, traveling, starting a family, etc. I would hope aaron getting into a serious relationship would allow her co-parenting responsibilities to decrease so she could focus on herself and what she wants in life. what do you think?

i definitely think his time with jessica changes- and you put it perfectly!

the arrangement was put into place mainly for the reason of someone being with jack while aaron was away, and jessica was the perfect one for a few reasons- obviously keeping him connected to haley, she understands aaron's job and knows the kind of schedule to expect, and after what happened with foyet, i've always envisioned aaron having more of a cautious, protective barrier around jack. he wouldn't be as trusting, in terms of like, hiring a random nanny to watch him. like, the image of pulling jack out of his hiding place is engraved into his mind and it terrifies him. so with jessica, she's already safe, if that makes sense. aaron has known her for years, trusts her completely, and again keeps haley's name alive- doing both jack and jessica a favor- jack is also jessica's connection to haley, after all.

so when reader enters the picture - i've always imagined aaron making up his mind quickly in terms of wanting to get married, so it doesn't take long for reader to take over jessica's role. and it's officially official once reader moves in with aaron. it's definitely bittersweet in a way, but it's an even better arrangement for everyone, just so much more convenient. jack isn't going between two homes, he has more of a 'mom' which makes him so happy- like he loves his aunt, but she's not his mom, you know? - it's different. he also always knows who's going to be picking him up from school or soccer practice. it just gives everyone more structure, and a peace of mind.

plus, jack was never ever a burden to jessica, ever, aaron knows that and is so appreciative of her, but you can't tell me he never felt partially guilty for jack always being with jessica. co-parenting is a full time job, and he wants jessica to have a life, but she was the only person willing to watch jack. he wants her to partake in her hobbies, have a family, grow in her career or pursue a new one, all of which could be difficult with always being responsible for jack. so reader entering the family, taking on the role of mom, again, it works out in everyone's best interest.

but such an effort is made in terms of jessica and jack spending time together. he goes over to hers for sleepovers a few times a month, spends a weekend with her, always sees her on holidays and birthdays. if reader is busy, jessica is also the first person on speeddial. i also love to think reader and jessica get super close too, so one or the other is always at one's home to watch a show, hang out, have tea, and jack tags along.

but something i've always thought about that's worth mentioning- in 5x10 there's a mention jack has cousins??? but then there was no mention of haley having other siblings besides jessica, and clearly aaron's only sibling is sean, who doesn't have kids. so i love to headcanon that jessica does has other children. so whenever jack was with her, he had others to play with 🥺 so then to relate it all back to this, another reason he sees jessica fairly often is because his cousins are his best friends <333

oof, okay so I'm not super sure. I was on tumblr before this tumblr account but I don't rember when that was. I vaguely rember being on tumblr in like, middle school so maybe since I was 11-14 maybe? and I'm 19 now, so maybe 5-8 years? I'm not super sure about this one sorryyy

it came to me in a dream!! Actually that's not far off lol. I was trying to think of a username that I liked and it just wouldn't leave my head. I adore weeping willow trees, I feel like I cry a lot, and I love the word weeping so I thought it was perfect!

I don't have a phone, but if I did it would probably be a picture I'd taken. There's this one picture that I think would be kinda nice as a background but I can't find it rn rip

I have my ears pierced and I kinda think I'd like to get some more piercings eventually. I don't have any tattoos rn and I don't know if I'd ever get any. I might eventually?

Oh, I can think of a few that I really love. Okay so, whenever someone compliments the pictures I take I die, it makes me so happy. I love when people have told me that I make them comfortable. This ask I got was probably one of the sweetest things ever. Omg and when I was in middle school I was out sick one day so a teacher had to go get my books from my locker and she said my locker was the cleanest one she'd ever seen when I was in school I'd stay after school to take everything out of my locker and clean and reorganize it lol

I have a doll collection! But they have to be from thrift stores or garage sells, idk they just seem to have more character(to me). I kinda have a collection of tarot decks, if that counts. I've got like three decks, so I kinda feel like that counts. Also, I have a special jar for special things (rocks, shiny things, coins, things I find, that kinda stuff). I'm sure there's more, but I can't really think of them rn it's sleepytime lol
