Love Language mod v1- the intro ♡

I can’t believe my first ever mod is finally out! I wrote it out in July 2021 hoping the day it could be a mod and the fact it is out now feels so surreal. The five love language mod in the sims! Yes, our sims can now have a love language as a trait. You can buy the trait from the rewards store and it costs 12 points. Once your sim has the trait, you can see it in the simology panel and then your sims will have wants surrounding their trait. I used ALL the packs to create this mod.

What are the wants we will see in game?

From the (Crowded!) Inbox: My Least Favourite Sim(s)

One, I'm sorry I'm so terribly bad at these and for my delay in replying! Two, I like my characters - even the high drama ones (because of the drama!), so this was tough. Three, thank you so much to @perolesims and @matchalovertrait for this tag that made me think too hard!

I couldn't even pick one, so feel free to get to know the erratic ex with Fatal Attraction vibes, Ximena Bonilla, and Heather's childhood best friend and (reformed?) sleaze, Everett Pancakes, after the cut...

(Forgive this shot of Rafa. I believe he was quite literally juiced when I took it, and I don't have anything better of the two of them. For now.)

Ximena is the obvious choice for least favourite sim. She's been stalking Conrad and his family for years, lived in Conrad's old apartment to sleep on his old furniture, and she traumatized her little brother and dragged him into a life smuggling for a dangerous cartel.

She had a really difficult upbringing and chose smuggling over being trafficked, but what she's done with her ingenious self-preservation skills are borderline terrifying.

Plus she's smug. And yells nonsense from time to time. And I gave her a quirk to change her hair colour a lot, which just made it harder on me, the CAS-laziest, to change her up so often! 😂

Irrationally, I used such great poses in her flashback episode with Conrad that she peeved me off for looking good with him! And she gave him non-canon crabs.

The second least-favourite sim is less obviously a villain, but he sort of became one. And I hated it so much because the guy was supposed to be deeply ingrained in Gen 2, father the heir, etc (I will throw out an entire generational plot sometimes, yes) - and all those plans fell out the window because he was always happy to cheat on his gorgeous wife, Spencer - the family he chose to have when Heather was pining for him all through high school, and he knew it.

He wasn't supposed to become a heel, and his trauma totally stems from the tragic death of his mother, Eliza, in a housefire when he was really young, but even after he and Heather officially called time on their feelings, their mistakes, their whatever, Spencer asked him point blank about his feelings and he lied and said there was nothing there - immediately after coming home from a trip he made alone to see Heather in Brindleton Bay (when she found out she was pregnant with Malcolm Landgraab's son), and they would've autonomously woohooed if I hadn't stopped them.

That said, he underwent counseling with his wife, Heather was a surrogate for his and Spencer's second child, and he and Heather's lifelong bond is unbreakable. I don't see him sneaking around in the background doing anything nefarious, so while I don't prefer him and kicked him out of Heather's legacy plan, I don't totally hate the guy. It's not like he doesn't try, and he's a good dad!

Honourable Mentions: Townie bartender Diego Vazquez-Chopra for unceremoniously cheating on Bella Goth and eloping with widower Rahul. Henford mayor (and eventual wife of Bob) Annette Pancakes, who spent the entire time I brought her to Selvadorada for Spencer's bachelorette self-woohooing in front of everyone in their shared accommodations. I never even mentioned it because it was literally rabid and I hated how much it upset everyone else! She never even went outside. Some premades in my save would make this list, but I didn't think they belonged in this answer!

In honor of this hood imploding, here are some shots from the very beginnings of the of Veronaville! I ended up replacing the church.

This will be the first post in my queue of everything that I managed to save before this hood experienced ultimate destruction (which is thankfully more than I expected)

Big Ol' ramble under the cut

I'm not entirely sure what to call this, but I was in the mood to play with premades and feeling a little burnt out on Pleasantview/Strangetown drama and even in my uberhood, I avoided Veronaville like the plague. The houses here are... awful, I have nothing nice to say honestly. And I prefer to do as little editing of the actual walls and shapes and more just decorating and wallpaper in my makeovers for a challenge and this was by far the MOST challenging neighborhood of all time.

And I hate townies, and there's not nearly enough unrelated sims so I added Riverblossom Hills to this for two main reasons: 1) I actually kinda like a lot of the Riverblossom Hills builds and normally don't do much to them so to balance out the difficulty lol and 2) I feel like plantsims fit well in the fairy/magical vibe I was trying to go for with this hood and 3) I love Leod McGreggor. I also added a few of the stealth hood families for a bit more variety and a chance to play some I have never really given the time of day before.

And as a final note, I recently saw a post condemning ACR and had a look into it myself and decided to also ditch it midway through before the hood imploded and instead switched it out for Romantic Standards and I've been enjoying it so much more!! Slightly less horny sims and more realistic reactions to cheating and flirting and relationships are more one-sided rather than everyone feeling the same about each other. The only thing I'm missing is risky woohoo, but it's always been iffy working for me anyways so I've decided to just roll a die or something and use the Simblender if I decide a woohoo was risky lol.

How do you choose your characters’ names? Choose your least favourite character so far.

Strap in because I'm going to happily ramble about my named sims, and gossip about those I despise! Content warning for sim death.

How do you choose your characters’ names? oh my gosh I have wanted to talk about this for ages Amy HOW DID YOU KNOW! It could almost be its own post. So when I started most of my characters had pre existing names because they were premades or from the gallery. I'll talk about the sims I have named.

Devin, Deanna, Silas and Milton were randomised names that I liked. Alexander's cats Hamlet and Gertrude come from the play Hamlet. Clover and Ginger are just dog names I liked.

Joey was actually named after this sea otter at Vancouver Aquarium! During the pandemic he was found orphaned and they livestreamed him in his nursery and meeting the older otters.

Kelly was named before he was born, I wanted a unisex name that could fit a boy or a girl. The boy Kelly I named him after is from Chicago Fire. He is not my favourite character but I do love the complex ones, so him being a jerk and Kelly being evil is one big coincidence.

Fergus and Carson were named with the randomise button, but I know of characters with their names so I kept them.

I wanted all of the Chopra kids to be named after wonderful black characters or persons of renown. The eldest Chopra twin was named after the actress Mercedes Varnardo who plays Koska Reeves on The Mandalorian. I love the spirit of Koska who is dedicated and loyal.

The youngest Chopra twin was named after the character Savannah from Criminal minds who married the main character Derek Morgan. She is an intelligent woman with a big heart.

And the smallest Chopra is of course named after Viola Davis. I wanted an old fashioned sounding name and Viola Davis is amazing.

Pollock Knightstone is named after painter Jackson Pollock. His father Adam is an art critic so I figured he'd name him for an out there artist.

Alfred and Rilian Villareal get their names from the areas of culture their mama and mummy love. Alfred is named for famous director Alfred Hitchcock (that's why he has a thing about birds)

Rilian is named for Prince Rilian from the Narnia books. Specifically Prince Rilian, who is the son of Prince Caspian, is a character in the Silver Chair (a movie I saw several times growing up).

I found Marta's name by looking at a list of popular Latina names. But her surname, Romero, absolutely comes from Romeo and Juliet. If you are attracted to pretty males and haven't seen Douglas Booth playing Romeo you are missing out!

Choose your least favourite character so far

I have several and thankfully they are all dead! It's hard to pick between these two though. Mortimer might beat Ophelia by a smidgeon.

Ophelia Ryan was James Goth's first wife. I hated her on principal because between rotations MCCC married them because James may have had a romance bar with Alexander but they weren't an official couple. Storywise I had her being a snob who only married James for his family status (James had the closeted trait when Alexander started flirting with him). Anyway she refused to believe James was gay, claiming no one actually enjoys woohoo, and was not going to let him divorce her so he could marry his boy toy. Then she had a cardiac explosion and died because she was a COW.

Mortimer Goth became a self obsessed mean man. First off he started blaming Bella for all their troubles, and called her a gold digger repeatedly. He was far more interested in writing his precious bestsellers than caring about his kids or wife. He only saw Cassandra and Alexander as their achievements, and let Milton lie in a diaper blowout for hours because he was writing. Oh and then he slept with their maid. Then he hired Dina to be a live in maid and slept with her before Bella disappeared. Then he was CRUSHED by a meteor made of karma.

This series of shots just kinda shows you what 3t2 gameplay looks like and how it makes things more in depth.

This is Ashley Corono...take a look at her profile on Sims 3 wiki...those traits, though! What an Icon. I recreated her since the recreation of Sims 3 University did not include premade Sims.

She loves annoying other Sims for pleasure, and sometimes will autonomously do so, because of her traits. Her personality points allow her to give me a positive reaction when I tell her to do mean things-this is an example of how personality points and traits can complement each other. I set Ashley Corono's Nice points to zero-I mean that would be an Evil Sim, right?

Ashley's fun increases when I make her work out since she has the Athletic trait. And yes, she demanded that I move that ratty ass dorm couch out onto the sidewalk so she could clear the football field of space that you need to be able to simply work out in front of the TV (Modders wya)!

This is Ann Conners, also a Sims 3 Uni dormie and Jacob Salaman. She currently is doing something naughty with Jacob, and his traits also explain his behavior. Ann, as shown, has the Inappropriate trait. But it's not actually from a trait mod! Ann's ACR has been set up to act like the behavior of an Inappropriate Sim. She can always autonomously WooHoo even with a relationship of 40 STR/LTR with other Sims. She can make booty calls to the dorm. She has high autonomy, as in, she is more likely to kiss some random dormie right in front of everyone.

If you don't know, that is the icon for when Sims are going to autonomously woo-hoo. But it's a dormitory, and the only double bed is...guess where? In another Sim's unlocked dorm. (Actually it turned out all the dorm doors were locked so they went up to the third floor for nothing which is still hilarious). So...inappropriate and wild of you both!

And then one last cute trait mod on display. Lizzie on the left has "No Sense of Humor" so her jokes...well...as you can see, her jokes are not taken very well, and Jacob is an asshole so... yeah Lizzie, not wise. I did make you do it but guess what, you don't know that queen.

I'm very bored today so I'm gonna rate the Curious brothers' romantic relationships in my game...

Lazlo and Crystal 3/10

idk who decided that Lazlo and Crystal needed to be a canon thing bc they literally do not get along at all. This screenshot is the most affectionate I've ever seen them; they never autonomously do romantic interactions. Their dates usually consist of completely ignoring each other while they get drunk at separate bars. The one time I had them get married they literally never talked, and it mostly consisted of Lazlo working and Crystal constantly getting the want to flirt with Johnny Smith, yknow Lazlo's nephew... (who was married to Ophelia at the time)

Pascal and Nervous 11.567/10

They look so sweet watching tv together, right? WRONG! These mfs belong in horny jail. You'd think considering they are both shy and serious they would be a very modest and sweet couple, but they will make out on your couch at the family Christmas party with 0 shame. Is the dressing room making weird sounds and shaking? It's probably because of these two. I still love them tho and I couldn't pair them with anyone else, they are my little babies even if they both have a constant want to woohoo in public.

Vidcund and Angelina 9/10

So full disclosure, Angelina is NOT a premade or a townie, she is a sim I made. She does have a pretty full backstory, but it's not necessary to go into here.

These guys somehow manage to out-suburban Jenny and PT9. If you were to picture a pair of embarrassingly loving parents, it would be them. They both constantly roll the want to have another baby, even though their kids are already doubling up bedrooms. Despite the constant baby fever, these two are totally opposite from Pascal and Nervous, they're actually pretty modest and will not make out at family events out of nowhere. They're only a 9/10 because sometimes whenever I'm playing a different Curious household and these two are around, I get secondhand embarrassment watching them being awkwardly affectionate.

also worth noting, I was playing the Beakers once and Circe autonomously used the telescope during the day and Vidcund lost his crush on her and they ended up becoming enemies. I found this out because I invited them another household's wedding party and Circe beat his ass during the wedding.

Goth Household: Year 1, Round 1 - Spring

Welcome to Rosebury! Rosebury is a custom neighborhood created by me, with all the premade neighborhoods added as subhoods. I’ve moved some premade households to the main neighborhood and play them rotationally, but only them. Sims from the subhoods are treated as townies, and played Sims can befriend or romance them - or worse. Here, I share pictures and stories of their lives, so I can keep track of where I left off when I take breaks. Feel free to join me on this journey! I started with the Goths, thus Cassandra and Don's wedding. Unfortunately (or fortunately for Cassandra's sake), Don left her at the altar. While Cassandra went into aspiration failure, Mortimer lectured Don. To make things worse, Mortimer married Dina and abandoned his family, even Alexander. Wow. Anyway, the next day Darren invited Cassandra to the skating rink. As soon as they arrived, she rolled a want to fall in love, which wasn't hard to do since they have 3 bolts of chemistry and were already good friends. Then she also rolled a want to get engaged to him, so she either moved on quickly or, as a family Sim, she really wants a baby. Or both. I had them go steady and locked in the engagement want. They didn't do much skating but certainly woohooed in Cassandra's car.

After returning from the date at 2 AM, the ghosts set some bushes on fire, so poor Cassandra didn’t get much sleep before work. While she was away, Alexander did his homework and became friends with Daniel Bell. The next day, Cassandra worked on her skills to get a promotion and is now a science teacher! She also threw a surprise birthday party for Alexander, who grew up to be a primary Family, secondary Knowledge Sim, just like his big sister. After aging up to a teen and enjoying the birthday cake, they played some Don't Wake the Llama with the guests. Meanwhile, the ghosts set the bushes on fire again and everyone panicked, but the party was still a good time lol. Now Alexander wants to fall in love and go steady with someone, so on the last night of spring, he went to the local club but had no luck finding love. Maybe next time.

I've been mulling over the thought of a new legacy style challenge to do now that For Rent has released (in addition to my premades gameplay). So I jotted down a few notes and before I knew it, a legacy was born.

I wanted something with a bit of randomness in it and so this wheel when spun, will decide which generation will be played in which order.

Spin once before creating your founder, then spin again when your legacy heirs are pregnant with their firstborns or deciding to start a family. You may wish to use the generation colours as name inspiration or names inspired by the generation theme. Reroll any previously played generations, or copy and edit the wheel to remove them as you progress.

Only one mandatory trait per generation, the others can be randomised or chosen. But all children of that generation must have the mandatory trait, not just the heir. I mean, you never know when you might lose an heir, right?

Your founder sim may start with the full 20,000 simoleons and buy or rent their first home. Outside of the mandatory trait and allowed aspirations for the rolled generation, they can be entirely of your own creation. The legacy family are not confined to one lot, they may move to any neighbourhood that makes sense for the story you are playing. You can keep other family members on the lot, or not, as you wish. 

RED - Generation Love

Romantically minded since your teen years, you feel incomplete without another sim on your arm, whether that is your Mr/Ms Right or your Mr/Ms Right Now!

Aspirations - Serial Romantic, Soulmate, Villainous Valentine

Trait - Romantic

Career - Either one of the GTW careers or the WFM careers. No rabbit holes for you. 

Goals 

Follow your sim to work every day or work from home

Attend every Romance Festival from when your sim is a teen and onwards

Leave at least one sim at the altar

Complete the message in a bottle collection

Woohoo in all possible locations (animal shed, boardwalk ride, photo booth, observatory, sauna, hot tub, bed, tent, shower, waterfall, closet, pile of leaves, sleeping pod, coffin, party bush, Brindleton Bay Lighthouse, Rocketship, Money Vault, Dumpster, hot spring, ice cave, treehouse)

Even with Leod's infidelity they seem to be doing rather well. Especially with the beautiful wonderful heir that will for sure help Leod on the farm without needing to be payed too.

Normally she'd be very busy with both work and painting but because of the terrible weather outside she decided to game for fun this time. Not something that her husband approves very much but he'd rather not piss her off any time soon. He did get mad when she didn't want to give him a good night kiss though. (I get him in that actually)

Thinking of the family he left behind to continue their legacy. Especially of his grandparents who too fell in love in a whirlwind romance. Would his marriage last just as long? A Tale of Tails🧜🏾‍♀️🧜🏼‍♂️

Yes Disney is unleashing their Little Mermaid remake on us, and I forgot how much I used to love the original. Since Sulani comes with mermaids, as well as some pretty well made mermaid premade NPCs, I knew I would play with the mermaids, but because they were not really that interesting by default, ended up downloading the Expanded Mermaids mod.

Anyway I actually forgot their names, but there's four of them, including the Sim from the Island Living trailer, and of course I gave them all a makeover. By and large I've just been using this clan of mermaids to harass, prank and menace the island residents, as well as force local hottie Makoa Kealoha to woohoo with them.

Each of them is represented by a colour, as well as a signature necklace, which they wear at all times. In my mind, the necklace is where their mer-magic is stored. They also each have different interests, from conservation, to busking, woohooing with humans, and just general tomfoolery.

They live in the shipwreck lot, which I renamed the Forgotten Grotto. I thought it was pretty cool that the pack included this lot, I like that the boat's interior is underground, in a basement.

Technically, thanks to the Expanded Mermaids mod, the mermaids don't even really need to come to land, but I guess the lot just functions as a way for me to bring them into the game, also I got to do my favourite thing, which is to have a bizarre and creepy crypt underneath an unassuming entrance, in this case, a mer-cave under a shipwreck.

Thinking Darren - as the only other person she knows - would make a nice woohoo for her and they talked, became friends and she asked him out on a date. Then invited him over but he said no both times -facepalm*

Luckily Aj was waiting by the phone and came the moment she called him.

They took a b-line to the couch where Aj finally fell in love with someone!

I'm glad she's pregnant because Aj is working very hard to make that happen xD

On the Sims 1 & 2 Rerelease

I'll be the first to admit I did not play Sims 1. But I did play Sims 2 and 3 when they released, and for a long time before I played 4, and believe me, the amount of people complaining about how awfully buggy TS2's remaster was have been absolutely spoiled with Sims 4. Hell, the romanticisation of TS2 at the hands of big-name simmers also ticked me off, but I won't fault them because I'm not immune to nostalgia either. As much as the TS4 community claims to hate whaling for EA on TS4 packs, it doesn't change the fact that TS4 manages to still be nowhere near as broken as TS2. That's not saying much in light of the recent game breaking glitches people are reporting in TS4, but it's something.

Pink/Purple soup is nothing new. Hell, back in my day it was blue soup. There would be blue soup on people's heads, there would be blue soup on their teeth if they were vampires, there would be blue soup in the eyes, there would be blue soup in the pool. Everything had the chance to become blue soup. Back in my day it was my save file corrupting because I did literally anything, up to and including:

Bringing back Bella Goth in Pleasantview.

Asking to be bit by the Grand Vampire, subsequently leading to him or her eventually biting an incomplete sim like Agnes.

Making any positive or negative memories with homeless townies

Bringing back Bella Goth in Strangetown

Creating a baby with Utility Sims like Grim or the shrink

Sims 2 being a self-corrupting nightmare when left unattended in vanilla is nothing new, and the amount of people crapping on about how broken the game was compared to how veteran simmers romanticised it got old REAL quick. Yes, Sims 2 had a lot of cool content and a good chunk of it still isn't in Sims 4. But at least your save file won't get corrupted because Vlad bit a premade townie. Probably. Trust me, you will enjoy the Sims franchise a lot more when you realise that it's always been a buggy mess at every stop and turn, take it on the chin, and play the installment that best suits your needs and whims. There are still so many performance improving mods out there, likely for all the games, and some of these modders will eventually come out of the woodworks to update for the definitive edition.

Geekcon! Geekcon! It’s time for Geekcon! All Geek sims must visit Geekcon and 9S is the geekiest little nerd running around! 2B is just here to be supportive. And hide in the observatory on lot. She’s a loner! She’s going to avoid the crowds and find a place to hide. First things first for 9S is that I think it would be fun for him to chat with some cosplayers. So I find the first costumed person around the food stand and chat! We meet Sam O’Connell, a random sim who’s also a fellow Geek. Nice! And hey, it’s Brad Mayer again, you know that alien dude who’s been popping up all around.

In the midst of Geekcon, there are several events that test video gaming and hacking skills. Naturally 9S must try both! If he does nothing but perfect in the Hack-a-thon, I will be disappointed. ...which I don’t have to be because he got a 99 out of a 100! A grade! Gaming test...he failed with a 70 percent! Oh come on. That’s C grade. That’s barely passing. We also chat up Liberty Lee, known premade geek and Eddie Landry! I had just finished the Making Fortune scenario and brought the Sims into the main file at this time. He’d be a natural geek friend for 9S!

Speaking of friends, Geekcon is finally over. 2B is heading home while 9S’s whim has been befriending a neighbor he’s been annoying with late night noises. Alas, she is in an angry moodlet and the relationship is bad enough that no small talk will help with gaining friendship. Retreat! Retreat to our apartment! Retreat to game! While 2B just does general relaxing things. Again. She did it enough that she gained an emotionally mindful moodlet and now she’s...furious. OH FUN! The day is done and it’s time for-

It’s a real 9S focused post this one! Work-from-home is still super simple, and it’s to march around and be intimidating around the Neighborhood. He did it far too soon so I’m going to do it again. And it raises fitness while at it. Anyway, his whim is to practice programming so I’m doing that and then switching over to being HACKERMAN and do a round of hacks. What we’re doing after these rounds of hacks is just waiting for 2B to come home so 9S can go on a date with her, as per his whim and aspiration. Alas, as she comes home, she needs to sleep. So instead, I’m going to have 9S fully befriend fellow nerd Eddie Landry. Chat with him, play some games, get to know a bit more about this nerd. Who...slipped away and pranked our toilet. I forget he’s also a goofball and goofballs just do that. Anyway, after being social, we’ll head back to being hackerman once more.

2B’s awake! And it’s midnight! Work starts at 8 so that’s 6 hours we can devote to having a nice at-home date! Why at home? 2B’s whim is to stay at home for 8 hours. Firstly, the two will chat and talk over a nice game of chess, flirt over queens and kings and the battlefield of fictitious war. And then they shall talk...and get closer...and then-

It’s over now folks. The two have had woohoo. They will now be unable to keep their hands off each other. It’s just how it goes! Annnd we just got alerts for work so let’s sneak in one last woohoo and oooh, they got smitten sentiments! Nice!
