When I mention all the terms that designate my identity, I am told that I am just showing off and that I am just normal.

But when you think about it, there are so many terms to describe the complexity of consciousness that everyone is a combination of many words that have existed and never will exist.

The more introspection you do, the more terms you find to put to your feelings.

I like to dissect my identity. Many of my feelings don't have names, so I have a hard time talking about them, but I love analyze them.

I think that's why there are a lot of lgbtqia+ people (for example)in the alter/nonhuman, alterbeing and other/semihuman communities: we're not people who try to be interesting. We are just beings who like to dive deep into our hearts and think with it.

To me, despite one being based on the other, there’s never been a doubt in my mind I am a werewolf therian, not a regular wolf.

Being a werewolf means my humanity is inherently part of the package. I do not reject my humanity. It is just as much of a part of me as the wolf is.

I have a clear visual in my mind as to what the wolf looks like. A facultative biped. Moving around on twos and fours interchangeably.

Furthermore, my pack instincts are second to none, aside from seeking basic interaction. My group instincts all come from the hyena.

It also means feeling estranged from my human body in a way that is different from species dysphoria. There is another physique layered over mine. The human self does not feel right. I do not wish to have a different body in those moments, but something about the body I have doesn’t feel right.

The “were” is just as important as the “wolf”.

I have to say, I never get shifts like I've seen other beings describe them. I never fully shift and I'm always partially if not fully aware of what I'm doing.

For physical shifts, it's kind of strange because I only get them if I recognise they're here or if I think about it. The ones I get are from the most common: fox ears, paws, limbs, tail, teeth and muzzle; crow beak, eyes, tail and wings; dog ears, tail and paws; margay physique and eyes.

Mental shifts are less present. Occasionally I'll see a bird around and want to hunt and all gore-y things, sometimes I'll take my favourite plushie and play with it on my bed, I'll be in the mentality of a fox in school during class and force myself to be as human as I can. Sometimes I feel fake because of this but I know I'm not, I'm as valid as anyone else.

I concentrated on the animal part here, let me know if you need something about being fictionkin too!! It was so interesting to answer this!

hi there!! there are several types of shifts:

1. Mental shifts

Mental shifts occur when one's thought patterns fall into those of their theriotype, e.g. a cat therian may begin to think less in words and more in images and feelings. they may feel inclined to nudge up against surfaces, and may become very alert when spotting a small animal that cats would usually hunt. These shifts can last anywhere from a few seconds to hours, and while your thoughts may become more animalistic, you are still capable of human speech and thought as well as logic (although it may be uncomfortable to speak and act like a human while experiencing a mental shift!) Being in a mental shift will never excuse behaviour that harms others. You are still at least 90% in control of your actions and behaviours. 2. Phantom shifts

Phantom shifts are a phenomenon many therians (but not all!!) experience, where you may feel phantom appearances of your theriotype's physique. This could be feeling wings for bird therians, a tail for gecko therians, or tusks for a boar therian. Phantom shifts can be felt in several ways, from just an awareness of the limbs to full on sensation. For example, when sitting on a bench, if I moved my tail to touch the corner when I was experiencing a phantom shift of my dromeosaurid theriotype, I could accurately touch the corner with my finger without looking first try. When I moved my tail away, more often than not I could not accurately touch the corner with my finger the first try. I've also heard stories of therians accurately knowing when someone was behind them as the person was touching their phantom tail without knowing. This phenomenon has also been observed (and is more well documented) in amputees, who experience similar things.

3. Envisage shifts

Envisage shifts occur when one's brain automatically pictures their theriotype performing the tasks they are doing, instead of their human self. People have an awareness of their physical form as they go about their day, and many therians picture not their human form but their creature form, mostly entirely subconciously (but the more aware you become of this the more vivid it becomes). It can feel very peculiar when your brain is convinced that you look like an alligator while on a bus chock full of human passengers paying you no mind lol

4. Physical shifts

Many therians shun the idea of being able to physically shift into your theriotype, becoming it physically and leaving your human form- and thats because its completely impossible. (gotcha haha, you really thought) Physical shifts are, quite frankly, unfeasible. There has never been a documented case of humans transforming into animals, as this would mean completely destroying and rebuilding your DNA which would, well, kill you. Shapeshifting is thus far undocumented and scientifically impossible, sadly. If someone is claiming to be a physical shifter... they're lying. (man i wish tho, if only...)

Extra info!

- shifts of multiple theriotypes can be experienced at once (it can get really confusing, I once had the tail of a kaprosuchus and the beak of a kea. Sometimes you feel like a very strange frankensteins-moster-esque hybrid haha)

- multiple types of shifts can be experienced at once (full phantom, mental, and envisage shifts all experienced at once is a TRIP)

- Shifting can be a positive or negative experience

- Not all therians experience shifts and thats completely fine! You're still just as therian as the rest <333

- You can learn to control your shifts, however sometimes they are out of your control and you just gotta deal with them until they go away

- Everyone experiences shifts differently!! There is no one right way to experience a shift.

- There are many, many types of shifts, much more than I've covered here (exam month aaargh, busybusybusy) so research is recommended!!

Exercise Buds

I’ve seen a lot of people request I do a Tindalos/Cthugha rivalry for the readers attention. So I decided to make this quick little thing with my own twist on it. I wouldn’t mind revisiting this rivalry at some point or maybe having Cthugha try and become a Vtuber.

Cthugha/Tindalos

~By the growing concern of your guildmates and your physical condition you all agreed to take a bit more concern for your athleticism in case a scenario would arise where it would be your only option. Luckily Kengo happened to be an expert on the matter and was able to formulate a regiment for your guild. One of your requirements was a jog at a certain time of the day which you took time to properly adjust your schedule to over the course of two weeks now. However this week on your run you actually crossed paths with a familiar berserker. “ Oh, hey there!” Cthugha greeted you in a nonchalant way as you both almost bumped into each other. You were glad you didn’t because if you had you would have most likely caused an explosion thanks to the large Transient being startled by the impact. Either way he seemed dressed for a jog thanks to his loose gold faded shirt and sweatbands. “I had no idea you would be jogging this route right now. None.” The red entity laughed nervously. You asked him if he had gotten lost on his workout routine. “What? Lost? No way, not a super cool guy like me!” He replied. “If anything I was just… looking for a new route.” Cthugha puffed out his cheeks and blushed a little as he continued. “But, since you’re here… how about you and I-” Before he could finish his suggestion a third voice cut in that snuck up from nowhere.

“Why if it isn’t my two favorite people?” A familiar blue furred arm wrapped around both you and Cthugha in a seemingly friendly hug. “The best summoner I know and… some other guy.” Cthugha took offense to that.

“You know well who I am!” Cthugha snapped in annoyance.

“Hmm…” Tindalos took a minute to ponder. “Nope. I think I’d recognize someone as simple as you.”

“S-Simple!?”

Tindalos chuckled and turned his attention back to you. “So, are you guys out on a date or something?” You corrected Tindalos and clarified you had just bumped into each other not too long ago while out on your jogs. “Oh? Since when did the two of you jog?” A thought clicked in his head. “You must be taking after my advice from my workout streams! Nothing like good cardio before a workout after all!”

“Don’t give yourself too much credit.” Cthugha sneered. “A shrimp like you has nothing on me~.”

Tindalos took a minute to size up Cthugha. “For a simple guy you’re pretty big, but I’m definitely the handsome one.” The blue therian brought his arms behind his head and gave a wink as he posed for both you and the red Therian.

“Stop calling me simple!” Cthugha demanded. To avoid a literal explosion you made an effort to step between the two…

~And it somehow worked. You were now on a run with two of the most physically active transients you knew. You admired both briefly as you flanked behind the two of them. You definitely took note that Cthugha not only looked powerful since he was also a bodybuilder but also was powerful thanks to his power over explosions. Meanwhile Tindalos had an impressive physique despite spending most of his time in his own room and not being as much of a powerlifter as Cthugha was. You were at least grateful Cthugha agreed to play nice…

Unfortunately Cthugha wanted to do anything BUT play nice. He had been planning an opportunity like this for weeks now. He had to memorize your route, find the perfect outfit to show off his physique, come up with the perfect excuse, and work up the courage just to ask you to go on a date with him. But NO. This mutt had to show up and sabotage his perfectly executed plan to woo you. He knew Tindalos probably caught wind of this plan and just “conveniently” went out on a jog of his own just to mess with Cthugha’s well considered plan.

Tindalos just wanted to stretch his legs and when he saw you chatting it up with another Old One he figured it’d be fun. He just thinks it’s fun to tease Cthugha.

~After going for at it for a while you cave first and explain you can’t run anymore without taking a hydration break. “We’ve definitely ran pretty far…” Tindalos added.

Cthugha scoffed at the both of you. “This is pretty far for you? I’m still raring to go!” He huffed out.

“Well good for you. But some of us more complex and intelligent folks need a drink every once in a while.” The therian quipped as he grabbed his water bottle and started chugging.

“For someone thirsty you’re pretty talkative.” Cthugha grumbled. “Oh, um… are you okay though?” Cthugha asked you as you took a gulp of your water. You said you would be okay after a minute to drink some water.

“You only brought water with you?” Tindalos asked. “Why not try some of my sports drink? Don’t worry I’m not sponsed or anything- I just happen to like it.” He handed you his water bottle after wiping off the mouth piece with a tissue and letting take a taste. You were surprised at how sweet it was given the fact it was a sports drink. “Yeah these guys definitely know how to make their stuff taste really good!” The canine continued to rave to you.

Cthugha just watched him fawn all over you and gush about some silly sports drink and he was not happy with how it was going. Cthugha had brought his own water but could go for just a while longer without it. However since the rest of the group was having theirs he figured he would at least take a sip but he could barely concentrate on anything but his anger and jealousy of how close you two were getting. He was so enraged, in fact, he squeezed his own water bottle a bit too tight causing the pressure to build up in the bottle til it couldn’t contain itself- The transient’s bottle burst in his hands from how tight a grip he had on it and the contents of the bottle spilled all over himself, leaving a huge mess of water on his clothes. “Ah!” Cthugha gasped. “Now I’m all wet…!” He was embarrassed to have lost his cool like that in front of you. But rather than be annoyed with him you were concerned as you took a tissue of your own and very carefully began to help him dry off. “What-” You just assumed Cthugha forgot his own strength again and accidentally made a mess for himself so you just wanted to help him before he had a chance to properly freak out. “You’d… do that for me?” The red transient sniffled as he was touched by your kindness and definitely knew he had to ask you out one day…

Meanwhile Tindalos watched impressed. “Well played…” He muttered. “But that would be giving someone as simple as him a lot of credit. Still I’ll admit simplicity does still have it’s charms.”

La thérianthropie ? Kézaquo ?

Avant, l'animalité, on la vivait en cachette ; on en parlait pas.

Ce sont dans les années 70 qu'un groupuscule anglophone décide de s'interroger sur sa propre identité non-humaine.

Tout a commencé par les premiers otherkins s'identifiant tout d'abord en tant que elfes (d'où le mot "other kin" qui signifie "autre lignée").

Dans les années 90, les premières personnes-animales apparaissent sur le site alt.horror.werewolves.

Les individus concernés se retrouvent, peu à peu. On y voit, alors, passer de nombreux articles sur la lycanthropie et autre « animaux totem ». Sur internet, le mot « were » se voit utilisé pour parler de ces individus, la plupart du temps « au corps humain et à l'esprit de loup ». Ce fut les premiers groupes de personnes thérianthropes sur le web.

Une définition se voit créée pour englober des personnes partageant le même ressenti animal : elles ne sont pas totalement humaines.

La thérianthropie est un nom utilisé pour désigner :

Un individu ayant le sentiment profond et constant d'être en parti un animal non-humain (disparu ou non), au dépit de son corps, de son éducation, de ses proches et de son environnement.

Cette personne pourra, alors, s'identifier intensément, viscéralement et intrinsèquement en tant que (et non « comme ») un ou plusieurs animaux qui lui correspondent (thériotypes).

En dehors des ressentis et expériences métaphoriques, la personne peut connaître des expériences littérales : dans ses actes et mouvements, dans son caractère, dans ses ressentis physiques, dans sa manière d'être, ses envies et pulsions.

Il n'est pas rare que certains individus disent connaître des expériences ésotériques et spirituelles en lien avec leur non-humanité. D'autres expriment leurs sensations comme étant en lien avec leur psychologie et/ou leur neurologie. On peut désigner ces personnes comme des “alterhumaines”.

Ce que c'est, généralement, d'être thérian :

-Se ressentir et se définir sous les traits d'un ou de plusieurs animaux ;

-Vivre son animalité aussi bien littéralement (actes) que métaphoriquement (ressentis intérieurs);

-Avoir, peut-être, envie de se documenter sur son ou ses thériotypes et apprécier tout ce qui touche à leur sujet;

-Vivre des expériences de shifts, et autre membres fantômes;

-Pouvoir souffrir de dysphorie;

-Accepter que l'on puisse pouvoir méditer sur sa forme animale, explorer ses rêves et connaître des EMC (État Modifié de la Conscience), s'il on a des croyances penchées vers l'ésotérisme.

-Accepter que l'on puisse, pour la plupart, avoir une vision pleinement "palpable" de la therianthropie et croire à une source identitaire psychologique ou neurologique.

-Découvrir sa therianthropie quelque soit son age;

Ce que ce n'est pas d'être thérian :

-Utiliser son animalité pour excuser sa violence ou mauvais comportements en public ;

-Nier l'existence totale de son humanité, du moins de son corps/cerveau/biologie/environnement/entourage humain-e;

-Une identité fausse qui ne reflète pas la personne (ex : loup noir et rouge, ailé, qui tire des lasers) ;

-Manquer de respect ou dénigrer d'autres thérianthropes et leurs croyances;

-Une lubie que l'on se découvre tout juste après avoir entendu parler de thérianthropie pour la première fois (cependant, cela peut arriver que la thérianthropie mette un mot ou une forme sur nos ressentis de toujours);

-Une simple attirance émotionnelle envers un animal (les therians ne font pas que aimer un animal, ils le sont);

-Incarner notre animal préféré (certaines personnes n’avaient aucun atome crochu avec leur animal au départ).

A ne pas confonde avec :

-Le Furry :

Un art (dessin,  écriture, couture) où l'on se représente sous les traits d'un animal anthropomorphique. Ceci est une passion, un jeu, un loisir. Ceci n'est pas une identité à part entière généralement (bien que l’on puisse être thérian et furry à fois).

-Le rôle-play :

Cela consiste à jouer à faire semblant (jeux de rôles, théâtre, jeux de société type DonjonEtDragon...). Contrairement au rôle- «play », la thérianthropie n'est pas un jeu.

-Les Animaux Guides :

Il s'agit d'une croyance culturelle (par exemple Amérindienne) où chaque être humain est lié astralement à un animal terrestre. Notre Animal Guide n'est pas notre identité mais plutôt une entité extérieur à nous même. Il souvent dur au début, pour les adeptes, de différencier Animal Guide et thérianthropie.

Qu'est ce qu'un therian?

Ce texte est basé sur les informations de la communauté therian anglophone, car plus avancée sur le sujet. (la commu francophone est encore assez arriérée sur certains points, c'est justement pour ça que je crée du contenu dans cette langue ;3)

Avant de commencer : ce n'est pas le post le plus original, je sais, mais je pense que ça va permettre de commencer sur de bonnes bases. Dans la communauté francophone, quelques informations erronées errent un peu partout. Beaucoup moins que sur Tiktok, bien sûr, mais je pense que ça serait bien de fournir une définition fiable (j'essaie d'etre fiable autant que possible, j'espère que c'est le cas ^^) de ce qu'est cette identitée, en français.

Qu'est ce qu'un therian ?

Définition :

Un therian (ou theriantrope) est un individu ayant le sentiment intense, réel et profond d'être partiellement ou entièrement un animal nonhumain (ou plusieurs animaux nonhumains). C'est une identité involontaire le plus souvent vécu à un niveau mental (non-physique) mais peut également s'étendre à un niveau physique*.

L'animal auquel un therian s'identifie est appelé "theriotype". Il est possible d'en avoir plusieurs, un therian s'idendifiant comme plusieurs animaux à la fois est appelé "polytherian". On ne peut pas choisir son ou ses theriotype(s).

Un theriotype peut être un animal dont l'espèce existe encore actuellement, un animal dont l'espèce est éteinte ou même une créature imaginaire dont le comportement est très animal!

⚝Un concept récent ?

Nos identitées sont souvent incomprises, à cause de fausses informations circulant sur les réseaux. Et oui, avec l'arrivée des réseaux sociaux comme Tiktok et YouTube short, notre communauté à été rapidement mise en avant... et les haiters qui vont avec.

C'est souvent considéré comme un concept récent, une sorte de délire à la "hEy ReGaRdE jE sUiS à mOiTiÉ lOuP jE sUiS tRoP dArK AWOoOo" ou même carrément quelque chose créé pour décrédibiliser la communauté lgbtqia+. On est d'accord, nous ne sommes rien de tout ça.

La communauté officielle à été créée vers 1970, sur Alt.Horror.Werewolves, un forum à la base créé pour les fans d'histoires de loup garou, dont les conversations se sont tournées vers les sentiments étranges de certains membres, qui s'avère finalement être de la theriantropie.

Mais la theriantropie est loin d'être récente.

En Grèce antique, un homme dont j'ai oublié le nom était connu pour s'identifier comme un chien. Pour lui, être pleinement humain, c'est être un chien.

Avant la communauté, la plupart des therians ignoraient ce sentiment, le cachait ou étaient dans le déni. Nous nous fesions pas trop remarquer à l'époque.

Maintenant que notre communauté est mise au grand jour sur internet, de plus en plus de therians découvrent qu'ils le sont, et avec notre visibilité (malheureusement souvent négative), cela donne l'impression que l'on est apparu tout d'un coup, comme si c'était une mode ou un style. Alors que c'est loin d'être le cas.

⚝Les therians physiques

*Les therians physiques sont rares, mais ils existent et sont tout à fait valables ! Certains d'entre eux sont zoanthropes cliniques (la zoanthropie clinique est un syndrome psychologique où un individu à l'impression de pouvoir physiquement se transformer comme un animal). D'autres disent que leur corps leur appartient, et comme leur âmes sont animales, leur corps appartient à un animal, alors leur corps est physiquement animal malgré leur forme humanoïde.

Ces therians ont été présent dès le début de la communauté. Mais, dans le but de faire paraître la communautés plus "normale", quelques therians ont caché leur existence aux nouveaux membres... Je suis moi même tombé dans le piège, j'ai seulement découvert leur existence en arrivant sur Tumblr...

⚝Des expériences animales

En plus de s'identifier comme des animaux, beaucoup de therians vivent d'autres expériences animales comme :

Des shifts = variations dans l'animalité d'un therian. Il existe de nombreux types de shifts différents (clique ici pour découvrir beaucoup de types de shifts et leurs définitions!)

Des noema = informations qu'un therian connait instinctivement au sujet de son theriotype .

De la dysphorie d'espèces = sentiment de tristesse, désespoir ou même colère chez un therian par rapport au fait qu'il ne fait pas physiquement partie de l'espèce de son theriotype, ou que son quotidien s'éloigne de celui de son theriotype.

De l'euphorie d'espèce = sentiment de tranquillité, de paix, de joie car on se sent plus connecté à l'espèce auquel on s'identifie.

Etc

Il est important de noter que tous les therians ne vivent pas tous tout cet éventail d'expériences, certains n'ont pas de shifts, par exemple. Il existe aussi des therians s'idendifiant juste comme leur theriotype et rien d'autre, et c'est totalement ok!

Les therians ne sont pas les seuls à pouvoir vivre ces expériences, d'autres identités alter/nonhumaines peuvent en avoir. Même quelques humains """normaux """ en ont déjà vécu.

⚝Un symbole :

Le symbole représentant la theriantropie (et la communauté therian par la même occasion) est le thêta delta :

Le theta delta est composé des lettres grecques thêta Θ (pouvant être utilisé pour symboliser une certaine forme d'animalité, et symbolise le T dans "therian") et delta ∆ (symbolise un changement ou une transformation, ce qui fait référence aux expériences plutôt "transformatrices" que beaucoup d'entre nous vivons).

(et oui ça ressemble à un fameux symbole de Harry Potter, je sais ^^')

Le thêta delta peut être utilisé pour exprimer son identité et se reconnaître entre nous.

Quelques définitions pour bien débuter

Car on peut se mélanger avec tout les termes de cette communauté, voici un petit lexique des mots importants pour éviter se perdre sur les sites otherkins et thérians !

L’alter-humanité est un nom utilisé pour désigner : 

un individu ayant le sentiment profond et intemporel d’être en parti un animal non-humain (pour les thérianthropes) ou une créature fantastique (pour les otherkins) au dépit de son corps, de son éducation, de ses proches ou de son environnement. 

Cette personne pourra, alors, s’identifier intrinsèquement en tant que une ou plusieurs créatures/animaux qui lui correspondent (thériotype pour les thérians, kintype pour les otherkins). L’alterhumanité de la personne peut se ressentir dans ses actes et mouvements, dans son caractère, dans sa manière d’être, ses envies et pulsions. Il n’est pas rare que certains individus connaissent des expériences ésotériques et spirituelles en lien avec leur non-humanité. D’autres expriment leurs sensations comme étant en lien avec leur psychologie ou leur neurologie.

~Vocabulaire de base~

Alterhumain : Mot valise qui regroupe les otherkins, thérianthropes, fictionkins, plantkins, other-hearted, otherlinks… et autres identités « non-humaines ». On parle d’alter-humanité.

Personnalité multiple : Se dit d'une personne ayant un ou plusieurs alters avec qui il partage le corps physique. On retrouve cela essentiellement dans les TDI, (système) où deux individus partagent le même corps mais on chacun leurs propres souvenirs/gouts/envie/personnalité/et j'en passe. Ces personnes peuvent switcher et l'hôte peut céder sa place à son alter. Il existe également les tulpamanciens, daemians, etc. qui vivent au quotidien avec un compagnon mental créé volontairement de toute pièce. Il faut, bien entendu, différencier cela de la thérianthropie ! Notre thériotype est nous-même et non une entité ou un être extérieur. Il s'agit de notre identité et non d'un alter. Il est essentiel de ne pas confondre les deux, sous peine d'être perçu comme un kikoo.

Therian ou personne-animale : Individu s’identifiant réellement, intensément et de manière permanente à un ou plusieurs animaux terrestres vivant sur Terre ou ayant vécu sur Terre (loutre, loup, lézard, corbeau, dinosaure…).

Otherkin : Individu s’identifiant réellement, intensément et de manière permanente à un ou plusieurs créatures fantastiques et/ou mythologiques (licorne, phœnix, sirène, vampire, dragon…).

Fictionkin : Individu s’identifiant réellement, intensément et de manière permanente à un personnage de fiction (OC, personnage de manga, de film, …) et le fait sien (physique, caractère, background, etc.)

Thériotype / Kintype / Fictiotype : Le thériotype correspond a l’animal auquel une personne-animale s’identifie, le kintype correspond à la créature à laquelle une personne otherkin s’identifie, etc.

Eveil (awakening) : Désigne le moment où une personne alter-humaine prend connaissance de son alter-humanité.

Shift : Un shift est une variation de l‘animalité ou de la non-humanité (shift mental, shift fantôme, shift oniriques etc.). Il s’agit, donc, d’un changement mental, souvent lié à une émotion forte (peur, joie intense, colère, …), qui fait sentir à la personne de manière intense son type (adopter son comportement, ses attitudes,…) Par exemple au lieu de hurler sur quelqu’un la personne pourrait se mettre à grogner. C’est souvent involontaire, parfois même court. /!\ Attention, ça n’excuse jamais la violence ou un mauvais comportement ! /!\ 

Polythérian : Concerne un thérian ayant plusieurs thériotypes. 

Polymorphe : Se dit d’un thérian ou d’un otherkin (ou autre) comme ayant plusieurs, de nombreuses et/ou toutes les espèces comme types et peut shifter en chacun d’entre eux (il a également quelques “types “favoris”). 

Shapeshifter : Personne non-alterhumaine capable de se provoquer des shifts (sans identification en tant qu’un animal ou qu'une créature). 

Cladotherian : Personne thérian qui s’identifie à toute une espèce ou famille animale (clades). Par exemple, tous les félins, tous les canidés, etc. 

Vacillant : Terme très populaire, utilisé pour désigner un thérianthrope dont l'animalité et l'humanité sont intégrés en un seul être mais où l'un ou autre peut prendre le "devant" dans un shift. Leurs shifts sont constant, souvent logiques. Ils se voient comme humains et animaux à la fois, humanimal. L'animal n'est pas une entité extérieure à soi même ! 

Sunthérian : Se dit d'un thérianthrope vacillant MAIS dont les shifts sont d'une extrême faiblesse. La personne reste dans un mélange humain et animal. Au début, ce terme était utilisé par une personne pour parler de sa propre expérience. Aujourd'hui, il désigne un état entre être vacillant et conthérian. 

Conthérian : Se dit d'une personne animale qui ne shift pas. Elle toujours humaine et animale au quotidien, sans connaître de variation. Son humanité et son animalité ne font qu'un, en permanence. Ses membres fantômes sont permanent (parfois faibles du à l'habitude). 

Lightswitch : Ce mot représente un individu ayant deux modes mentaux, l'humain et l'animal. Bien entendu, cette personne reste ELLE MÊME. Il ne s'agit pas d'un être "extérieur" à elle même. Cette personne peut "devenir" son animal ou être totalement humain, sans entre-deux. On parle de mode "ON/OFF". Ce terme est très peu utilisé et, est souvent lié à une anxiété profonde. 

Whack-a-mole (ou jeu d'arcade) : Représente une personne dont la partie animal et l'humanité sont comme "de l'huile dans de l'eau". Sa vie est rythmée par une animalité très présente au quotidien et partie intégrante de son humanité. Ses shifts sont irréguliers et difficiles à prédire. On parle de "jeu d'arcade" dans le sens où la partie animale apparaît/disparaît sans préavis. Un peu comme si "l'animal essayait de sortir". Cela est assez courant chez les individus en éveil (awakening). 

Animal-hearted (Other-hearted pour les otherkins) : Forte connexion avec un animal et capacité à shifter en celui-ci (Différent de l’alter-humanité : La personne s’identifie à un animal sans être son identité, contrairement aux alter-humains qui SONT leur type). 

Coping-link : Besoin de s’identifier (par exemple, suite à un trauma) à un animal, un personnage ou une créature précis, de manière consciente et choisie, pour se sentir mieux. 

 Et enfin, pour conclure toutes ces définitions, même si ce n’est pas le cas ici, je tiens à éclaircir la confusion qu’il y a souvent entre l’alterhumanité et les xénogenres.

Xénogenre : Il s’agit de genres complexes se définissant en dehors des concepts de masculinité et de féminité ; dans le but de combler un vide lexical ne permettant pas de décrire leurs expériences, les personnes concernées ont recours à des métaphores et analogies impliquant d’autres moyens de classification (nature, animaux, espace, temps, choses, chiffres, sentiments, sensations, couleurs…) 

Kingenre / Theriangenre : Sous-catégorie des xénogenres qui concerne uniquement les personnes alter-humaines. Seuls les personnes alter-humaines peuvent se définir de genre kingenre/thériangenre (thérian chat dont le genre est également le chat : catgenre etc.)

Chapter #4.2: A Duel

For a good long while, time could have frozen, it would have made no difference. Only Fox’ and Clara’s pupils could be seen moving, twitching, assessing the physique of their opponent, estimating how they would act as soon as hell broke loose. While Clara didn’t look or sound the part of a respectable warrior, her demeanor revealed that her true core wasn’t much unlike the Therian’s.

Fox was the first to strike: swipe of the right arm to the left, a wide swing, two katanas were rapidly approaching Clara’s torso. She could only effectively step out of the way, especially with how fast this swing had come out. This fight was a no-brainer. A swordsman’s biggest advantage over an unarmed opponent was range. All a Masurao had to do was keep their opponent at a safe distance, where they could concern themselves with dealing damage, rather than taking it.

She had suddenly vanished from his sight. She hadn’t stepped back, like Fox had anticipated. Was this some kind of trick? A spell? Had she turned invisible?

In the corner of his left eye, he suddenly noticed the faint figure of Clara, almost as if it had just now finished rendering in this world. He reflexively retaliated with his hand of the same side, in the hopes that he could regain his composure in anticipation of the Pugilist’s next move. With what speed must she have moved to stay on the left side of his blade the whole time? There’s no other way she could have come that close any other way.

The Therian tried a new approach: eyes locked with Clara’s - there was no way he’d lose her again - he struck, fast as lightning, with a barrage of attacks, each next one covering the opening of the last. His katanas were like the walls of an ever-changing impenetrable fortress.

However, attack after attack, the Earthlain seemed to be on top of this battle the whole time, dodging out of the way, occasionally trying to breach Fox’ ultimate defence. She was hyper aggressive.

An opening presented itself, wide and tall enough for an average person to slip through; like a clearing in a forest and Clara’s next attack were like the rays of the sun, gleaming through. A body slam knocked the Masurao off balance. The muscles in his hands spasmed; she must have struck a pressure point. Fox was forced to drop two of his four blades, yet, because it was easy for a man to lose himself to this alleged advantage in battle, he could turn this around, lull his opponent into a false sense of security and ultimately strike back hard. He was every single bit as proficient with two weapons as he was with four.

Clara, however, was relentless. A right. A left. At this point, her next attack would topple her opponent over, effectively ending the battle. Anticipating a right, the Masurao warrior stood his ground and braced for impact, in the hope that he could deflect the incoming strike, but it mattered not.

The Earthlain had strafed around her Therian opponent and was now holding him in a clinch from behind. From this angle and in this position, there was nothing Fox could have done. He had lost the battle.

Univers : Terres sans Nom

Ce texte sera un texte descriptif sur un univers que j’ai créé et développé sur divers coups d’inspi, qui pourra peut-être devenir sujet a mon prochain roleplay, et que je poste ici parce que j’ai nulle part d’autre. Tout ce qui sera en italique sera du commentaire de jeu, de MJ, et pas du lore. Le nom de cet univers reste a définir, vu qu’il n’a aucune raison d’être nommé: sa nature lui donne moins de 100 ans d’existence.

Les plaines d’Evaël sont desormais percées par les hauts pics innommés du monde des ombres. Au sommet de ceux-ci, sur des plateaux immenses, se réveillent des êtres aux souvenirs flous. Aucun ne sait ce qu’il fait ici. Leurs souvenirs sont proches ou lointains. Certains ne se souviennent que de cette existence, d’autres d’une ancienne, parfois un peu des deux, souvent des fragments illogiques plus qu’une vie entière. Un nom ressort. Si ce n’est plus. Certains on vu le cataclysme, ont reconstruit une vie apres, d’autres n’en ont qu’une vague image.

Connaissance du cataclysme, du monde d’avant. Des mondes d’avant. Trois est leur nombre: le Ciel, la Terre, l’Enfer.

La Terre était un monde inconscient des deux autres, mais pourtant entre eux dans le grand repère des plans d’existence. Grandes forêts et mers d’eau salée recouvraient les ruines de l’ancienne humanité. Celle-ci est morte depuis des temps immémoriaux, depuis l’époque ou le monde physique a commencé à être influencé par l’ether, et ou les êtres vivants sont devenus créés par leur âme. Perdues sont les technologies capables de donner vie a l’acier, de raser des montagnes, ou de voyager des milles entieres sans s’épuiser. Maintenant, seule la magie peut ces miracles, et des bipèdes ne reste que les mages.

Le Ciel et l’Enfer partagent depuis toujours une relation des plus étranges. Bien que les mondes n’aient jamais de mémoire vivante eu le moindre lien, chacun propage mythes et légendes d’un grand Ragnarök contre l’autre, ennemi de toujours. Seraphins contre Démons, dans une guerre de mort. Le Ciel, monde volant. Iles au couleurs chatoyantes, monde organisé dans de grandes sociétés prospères. L’enfer, chaotique et tribal, avec peu d’océans, mais au paysages grandioses de roche. Deux opposés, si liés malgré l’infini qui les séparait. Bien étrange...

Trois font un. Trois mondes alignés qui sans raison connue se sont juste écrasés les uns dans les autres. Mais non, ce ne sont pas juste des océans qui se remplirent ou des portes qui s’ouvrirent. La réalité n’est pas aussi propre, et tout c’est recouvert au niveau conceptuel même. Êtres vivants, vos âmes désormais ne sont qu’entre une et trois. Être morts, roches, mers, laves, tout sort n’importe ou, n’importe comment. Montagnes dans les villes, océans volants, plaines sous le magma, le nouveau monde n’est pas qu’une union. C’est un nouveau monde, et un chaos.

Dans chaque monde vivait trois peuples, chacun lié par sa culture, sa magie, et sa race. Au Ciel, Seraphins, Dieux et Elementaires partageaient les lieux pendant qu’aux enfers survivaient Démons, Ombres et Spectres. Entre deux, sur terre, les derniers Mages survivants de l’humanité se cachaient dans leurs ruines, loin des Therians et des Golems peuplant la nature.

Les Seraphins sont des humanoïdes ailés a la culture européene, style médiéval. Ils sont spécialistes des épées et de la magie de lumière. Ils ont une culture de la justice qui leur impose un point de vue “objectif” qui serait celui de la Justuce elle-même. Ils ne pardonnent que peu.

Les Dieux sont une race pouvant avoir n’importe quelle forme physique, mais qui n’en tirent aucune force particulière. Leur vraie puissance vient de leur forme unique de magie, qui se base sur le contrôle absolu d’un “domaine”. Ils sont profondément égoïstes et vivent bien loin les uns des autres. Concrètement, un personnage Dieu dispose d’un élément qu’il contrôle (sans pouvoir le créer). Plus le domaine est large, plus il lui sera demander de s’imposer des règles en tant que limites.

Les Elementaires sont des êtres spécialisés dans la magie, à un niveau incomensurable. Ceux-ci ressemblent à des lumières colorées ou quelques particules de leur élément flottent. Les élémentaires sont tres puissants en magie, mais en contrepartie y sont aussi tres faibles: ils ne peuvent pas se défendre contre bien des sorts, entre autres la lecture/le controle mental. Suite a ça, ce peuple s’est basé sur une loi de non-violence absolue.

Les Démons sont des êtres vivant dans des structures de pierre, le plus souvent sombre. Ils ont la peau écailleuse, et des ailes, et leurs autres caracteristiques peuvent varier selon l’individu. Ils se caracterisent par une envie naturelle de possession, et donc l’envie d’avoir des chateaux plus grands, ou plus de suivants. Ils sont naturellement équilibrés entre la magie et les compétences physiques.

Les Ombres sont des êtres a mi-chemin entre un liquide vivant et illusion. Intégralement noires, elles restent sensible aux coups physiques et sont incapables de maintenir un corps divisé. La plupart peuvent prendre une forme humanoïde, mais seuls les plus puissantes se séparent de la peau bleue et des yeux rouges qui viennent avec. Elles aiment la magie noire, et se réunissent en meutes.

Les Spectres sont assez basiquement des âmes pures, capables de tres violentes émotions mais peu de reflexion. Leur magie est simple et basée sur le mouvement, mais elles sont insensibles a toute attaque physique. Elles se contentent de se ballader librement dans le monde.

Les Mages sont des humains ayant survécu au temps en s’élevant spirituellement et en apprenant une forme de magie appelée “Ordre”. Ils fonctionnent souvent via des systèmes de classes organisés, et sont la race la plus adaptée au marchandage et a la communication. Ordre: Magie basée sur des incantations, adaptable selon l’élément. L’incantation est en trois lignes: un mot-clef unique au mage pour acceder a la magie, un mot qui désigne l’élément et la puissance, et un mot pour la forme et les variables.

Les Therians sont des anciens humains s’étant unis a des animaux lors du passage a l’âme. Ils sont organisés en clans et savent faire fonctionner une répartition simple des taches, mais leur instinct prévaut sur ça. Ils sont puissants physiquement.

Les Golems sont des âmes affixées a des objets. Certaines roches, certains bois, voire d’autres. Ainsi, les objets deviennent vivants et se sculptent selon l’âme qui l’habite. Plus l’âme est puissante, plus l’objet est complexe. Ils aiment construire des choses via une magie de manipulation des éléments, mais ils ne vivent que peu dedans, ce qui est sujet a l’invasion des donjons*.

Note gameplay: malgré les classes tres caracteristiques monstrées ici, il y en a de fait un total de 63 jouables. En effet, vous joueurs pouvez créer jusqu’à trois personnages de races différentes, tous d’un monde séparé, et votre personnage final sera une race fusionnée des trois ayant quelques souvenirs de chaque. Une grosse partie de vos personnages sera donc due au hasard simple si vous le décidez.

Grandes lignes du bestiaire:

Si le bestiaire de ce monde vide et inconnu vous est mysterieux, quelques créatures sont du ressort de tous.

Les Donjons sont des êtres malicieux manipulant l’espace-temps, liés a une certaine divinité. Ils creusent dans la réalité pour tranfomer des batiments en labyrinthes pleins de dangers, mais aussi de trésors uniques.

Les Dragons sont des créatures dotées d’intelligence capables de voler. Ils en sauraient beaucoup sur le monde, mais n’aimeraient pas communiquer. Il est tres rare d’en voir.

Les Mecha sont des unités robotiques de défense encore présentes dans les ruines humaines, prêtes a tout pour éliminer les intrus.

Les Fous sont des gens dont l’âme n’as pas supportés la transition, et qui sont revenus a l’état primitif d’animal.

Enfin, les autres. Le but est de survivre. N’accorder jamais trop vite votre confiance.

Voilà pour la description de cet univers. Le but principal était de créer un univers sur des bases bibliques, partir sur un style Diablo/Darksiders, puis j’y ai ajoutés d’autres inspirations, donnant le coté post-apo et exploration du monde naturel d’Horizon, Zelda BoTW ou encore Xenoblade Chronicles. Enfin, attendez vous a des combats dantesques, dignes d’un Shadow of the colossus. Dantesque, ce mot résume bien ce projet, son style comme son ambition.

Salut, vous pouvez m'appeler Lune, je suis un therian puma ! Je suis également quelque chose comme naturhearted, mais ce n'est pas encore sûr. Je suis agenre, et j'utilise tout les pronoms ;3

Mon blog principal est @unetherian, j'y publie aussi des billets sur l'alter/nonhumanité, mais en anglais (c'est d'ailleurs grâce à la communauté que je suis bilingue lol)

J'ai surtout créé ce blog pour développer la communauté alter/nonhumaine française/francophone, en proposant du contenu en français sur la plateforme, car Tumblr est l'endroit le plus avancé en terme d'alter/nonhumanité (à mon goût), et la France est plutôt en retard sur ça comparé à la communauté américaine.
