went back and read page 426 and hohoho. Ohohoho! Well that's fun in light of recent revelations

ive never played Hades, and so I've just now learned through your liveblogs that you apparently?? Have to replay the entire game??? Everytime you die???? Are you okay????

Haha yes! That’s not unique to hades in particular—it’s part of a whole subgenre of games called “roguelikes” where the goal is to defeat the final boss/complete the objective in one go. technically hades is a “roguelite” because you don’t completely start over every time…you are able to keep certain items you collected in your run and use them to unlock permanent abilities and perks that benefit you on subsequent runs. there is still a sense of progress when you inevitably fail, and you unlock more pieces of the story the longer you play. it's also nice because the runs are fairly quick so it's not like you're sinking 3 hours into it and then losing it all. in the beginning you'll die super quick lol but when you're able to do a full run it's still only 30–45 minutes.

The characters' attitudes also help a lot to keep you from giving up! most of the NPCs are really supportive and offer words of encouragement. and the MC zagreus has both a confident determination that he'll win eventually and also a kind of casual acceptance of defeat, with some dry humor mixed in. So it makes it easier to shake off the loss and look forward to trying again.

Also, each run is unique! the dungeon rooms and rewards are randomized, and you always have a couple options to choose from as you proceed. so it's not about memorizing a particular path and repeating it until you can do it perfectly. in addition to skill, there is some luck involved, and also some strategy as you cater to your preferred style with the abilities you select.

omg sorry i didn't mean to infodump...i just think hades is sooooo fun and cool and i would highly recommend trying it out if you're interested! so yes im ok haha. i'm having a great time in fact 👍 hehe

Now that you are no longer avoiding miraculous ladybug spoilers, can I say that it is absolutely bonkers the way the sentimonster theory started out with just Adrien, but then spread to Felix, and now apparently kagami??? And I've heard there might be another person who is one as well?? Like at this point I think we might as well say that every rich kid in paris (or vaguely related to paris) is probably a sentimonster. I bet it was a top secret Agreste collection back in the day, and all of Paris' wealthiest got a slice of it

OHOOEHEHEHE YES AND IM LIVING FOR IT!! honestly I never thought we would get confirmation of the senti theory that is this clear—like I thought it would be hinted but left open enough for the average child viewer to totally miss and for deniers to be able to deny if they want to. And I guess they could still deny? But man I didn’t expect it to become so central!! the felix eps were insane i was yelling !!

A while back I saw this theory that was basically what you said—that all the rich kids in Paris were sentis. Because of that fancy weird cult party from the episode Gabriel Agreste. Which was so fascinating to me back then and now it feels not unlikely?

It’s so interesting bc we know sentis are created from a specific emotion. It would seem appropriate that Emily created adrien out of love, and that’s why he’s such a kind boy who gives undeserving people second chances and who loves people with all his heart. Im not sure what emotion felix would be?? he’s a pretty complex character but his sense of personal justice is strong, wanting to free himself first and then the other sentikids, and using morally questionable means to reach his mission. So maybe something along those lines. And for kagami, idk, is perfection an emotion? Desire for perfection? That idea is brought up more and more surrounding her and her mother is very concerned with kagami’s perfection.

This gets even more interesting to me when you consider Chloe. Admittedly, she makes less sense as a senti bc the other sentikids have a missing parent (presumably the one who wielded the broken peacock and then eventually died from it??). But im just considering the concept of Audrey making Chloe from her own emotions….which seem to consist solely of selfishness and superiority. So if Chloe was made with such ugly emotions, no wonder she is the way she is. And no wonder that every time she seemed to make a little progress, she backslid into her old behavior. Bc any display of self-awareness and kindness and genuine care for someone else goes against her emotional core—her very essence. Is it even possible for a senti to change their emotional core? that would be an insane display of self-control and sheer force of will that would challenge the very concept of sentis as creatures who are made to be commanded. if it’s possible for a senti to break the bounds of their emotional core, is it also possible to break the bond between them and their amok holder and disobey a direct order? Could they even break their link to their amok entirely? This is all crazy talk bc it doesn’t even make sense in context and I doubt Chloe would end up having that big of a role anyway lol but the implications are interesting to think about! It’s even interesting to think about XY and the possibility of him being a senti—emotional core of greed, maybe? or, like, shallowness? lol. his dad definitely controls him and his image pretty carefully so. Hmm!

anyway insane musings aside I am really enjoying this arc with the senti focus!! felix’s Argo fit is so cool. his villain song. Girl help!!! when he had to kill his sentimoon and cried…oh that got me. That was his SISTER !! and FELIGAMI HELLO???? FELIGAMI PRACTICALLY CANON AFTER 2 EPISODES??? i did NOT have that on my bingo card lol but you know what?? Hell yeah!!!!!! Kagami said if Adrien doesn’t love me I’ll simply fall for his more intense and moody twin who rapidly and rightfully became obsessed with me

i havent been reading the latest inhibit chapters (okay I have but with my hands over my eyes, peeking through my fingers), not because their bad or anything but because theyre too good!! And so realistic. Like how many times have you gotten so caught up in your own problems that you inadvertently act shitty towards your friend until it all boils over and you snap at each other. And the fact it's happening now, at the worst possible time in the worst possible way!!! Like it was bound to happen, I could see it coming given the way Davids been treated and the way you can see he feels about everything but it's AHHHHH!! Making me feel so stressed. And I don't want them to be fighting!! Remember the good old days.... when we broke into normal buildings and stole things that weren't top secret.... Alas.... Man I'm excited to see what's to come, what good pages. Thank you for writing!!

i fully read the Animorphs series when i was like... 26 to 28. (i of course read in elementary school whatever scattered handful of books my school library had. MUUUCH later i decided to read EVERY one, with lots of on and off reading over about a year and a half lol)

"the butterfly book" i think was the first one i legitimately cried during, and probably not for reasons someone reading a post like this with no context would guess

Cassie Animorphs really spoiled me for all future pacifist characters. Like, I didn't love her when I read the series as a kid, but as I've gotten older, I really appreciate that she's the moral center of the group, the one who's always trying to find non-lethal solutions, AND she regularly kills her enemies(and their human shields). Because she understands that if violence is going to happen, then keeping HER hands clean doesn't stop the violence. That sometimes, the only way to keep an attacker from hurting others is to attack them yourself.

And so she does the right thing. Always. And sometimes the right thing involves violence. And she regrets it, but if she's the only one who can save lives and that requires killing, she will. And she'll go right back to arguing that they should be looking for a path to peace while standing in the pool of blood.

Compared to how some series will have a pacifist character who relies on their friends to do all the violence while condemning them for it, or a series will find a loophole/change the rules to allow the pacifist to not kill when it would otherwise be 100% necessary, it was a nice practical situation to have Cassie dedicated to peace while being willing to kill to achieve it.

No ones asked this so no worries! He can’t - he does have a ‘true/default’ form and why he can shift to take care of different injuries age gets everyone eventually.

Edit: upon thinking about it the real answer is that time and age leaves too much of an impression on psyche to just do away with with a simple shift - much like how Stans scar can’t be shifted away and how his eye has problems. Theoretically if he had never gotten his memories back he could have lived another lifespan, but he does remember his age and it is influential enough on his person.
