I . WELL , LOOK AT YOUR WATCH NOW !

born in alucard , pennsylvania - misa amane was the child of celebrity parents who settled down in the small town . as of course , a TEMPORARY break . a director father and a failed actress mother , they were determined their daughter continue the legacy and turn into a star . and after a few good , normal years ( if ‘normal’ involved going to school & playing during the day then coming home to intense acting , singing , dancing practice ) , she managed to get wrapped into the world of stardom . 

first , it was through commercials . then , small parts in movies that called for cute little girls . then . . . a deal with a children’s network at age nine to star in a series about a child detective . affectionately called , THE MYSTERIES OF MISS MISA-MISA !

from nine to sixteen , she’d work tirelessly - becoming an instant hit the moment the pilot episode aired , selling merchandise all over the country and making appearances on other television shows . 

but then there’s the inevitable - kids start to grow up . the childish charm is lost & the children start to realize they were deprived of so much for the sake of fame . such things , like friends . and misa . . . although initially asked for a sequel series that would tackle the child detective now as a high schooler , declined in favor of going back home to pursue her high school years as a normal teen . of course - to the chagrin of her parents . she’d go back home to live with an aunt in alucard for a year , finishing her sophomore year , then her parents would follow - she’d move back in again at the start of her junior . and . . . it was not at all easy . considering a , she already had a reputation as a child star - which was equivalent to a target along her back . and b , the lack of friends was obvious - and even when she smiled at everyone , complimented their styles , helped them out with work she could assist with . . . most of the time , she’d sit by herself at the lunch table . or , with people that she didn’t know if they were actual friends or not . 

graduation comes , and misa amane stands to accept her diploma . there isn’t a graduation party ; she just sits in the back of her parents’ car , ready to go out to a fancy dinner she isn’t looking forward to .

II . YOU’RE STILL A SUPER HOT FEMALE !

BUT ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST ! graduation is the end of a chapter - and the beginning of the next rests in amane’s hands . three months pass , and once again the family puts pressure on her to go back into showbiz . it isn’t too late , you’re young & pretty - you’re meant for movies . but . . . misa , of course , refuses . she actually is looking into maybe making another name for herself . . . but in a very different way than her parents would hope .

it’s an argument . an argument about how misa has talent she’s ignoring & an argument about how her parents can’t control her forever . one friend she has sits in her truck in the parking lot as misa packs her bags , and the heated argument ends with the blonde girl slamming the door and her parents telling her to come back only when she has her head screwed on straight . but it’s fine . misa’s alright with this - she’s going to be a star in her own right , since a band she’s started playing in underground has just gotten noticed . YOUR FRIENDS & THE SKELETONS - a hard pop-punk band influenced by the likes of my chemical romance , paramore , two door cinema club , the 1975 , what have you . 

alucard is left behind when the recognition comes since misa amane needs the change of scenery . but that doesn’t mean she is gone forever , as sometimes the pursuit of other things only lasts for so long . 

III . YOU’VE GOT YOUR MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT !

the next few years are kind . the band experiences a nice success that means misa gets to live her dream - but she realizes the burnout when she looks back on everything she’s accomplished . the constant moving around , always only talking to the same few people or never anyone she gets to know - it registers that she’s still in some sort of box . and maybe a break from said box is needed .

your friends & the skeletons goes on a touring hiatus , retiring back to alucard . misa does not tell her family she’s going back - she doesn’t give a shit , and she doesn’t think they do , either . she gets an apartment by herself , and starts frequently streaming to still connect with her fans even though she’s taken a step back out of the spotlight . 

alucard is quiet . and alucard is home . but there’s a lot that misa again has to face .

she has a history here , yes - but nevertheless , there is still that feeling of loneliness . in every aspect - she never had many friends . little of her relationships lasted long , always ending with unrequited love , quick heartbreak , what have you . only her bandmembers did she have , even though she tried to throw herself at every friendly face she saw .

because she’s always been friendly . always a friend to everyone else , even if they aren’t a friend to her . only hoping maybe SOMEONE ELSE can see her as someone - begging to be somebody’s top-pick , somebody’s vip , somebody to someone . because her whole life she’s lived as only the bridesmaid , but never the bride in the eyes of those looking away from stardom . because it’s one thing to be adored by fans - it’s another to be adored by individual people .

IV . AND THEY’RE ALL WAITING FOR YOUR HOT TRACK !

nevertheless , amane is never one to give up quickly . because she believes that someday , maybe she’ll get what she wants . . . even though of course , when things go south , she still quickly accepts maybe she isn’t meant to be somebody’s someone . 

but she always smiles .

misa amane is one of a kind . she’s got so much love in her heart to share - she’s sensitive , maybe she gets hurt easily . maybe she’s IMPULSIVE and naive to where she bites off more than she can chew and believes things she shouldn’t . she jumps into things without realizing how much she could get hurt . talks without thinking . but she is friendly - she’s kind , outgoing , and cherishes those she admires even if they don’t cherish her back . her heart is forever on her sleeve , and all she wants to be loved . she’s been lonely for a long time .

she’s talented ! not only fronting her band with vocals & rhythm guitar , but also taking interests in visual art , crafting . aside from streaming , she runs a little etsy shop where she makes jewelry and keychains of her own little style . she of course can act , but hates it at this point . she also knows how to play the piano & the drums !!

she regularly streams for her fans - whether it’s to watch movies or shows with them or to play video games she has with them . she’s social , in that she always loves to talk to someone . her batteries recharge through social interaction , as an extrovert’s extrovert .

i wouldn’t say misa is stupid . she’s clever - witty . but sometimes she’s a little ditzy and acts without thinking ; i like to thing she did pretty well in school in terms of her grades , but her tendencies to both act and speak without thinking and sometimes forgetting simple things can give the impression she isn’t too smart . but she is ; just in her own special ways . she’s not dumb at all .

she also knows no fear - courageous to some points where it’s even dangerous . she regularly likes to go on adventures in the dark to investigate possible haunted areas , always is the one to kill the bugs when everyone else is scared , heights and the dark are never an issue . she also lives and breathes for the occult , heavily believing in everything supernatural . she even practices witchcraft !

it is almost a certain guarantee that misa amane is perhaps one of the friendliest faces in alucard . the one that only hopes you like her as much as she likes you . and maybe one day she’ll find that - until then , she will never stop persisting . she goes everywhere and she smiles at everyone ; a shimmer of sunshine in black platforms & cross earrings .

aaaaa not-so-humble christmas bragggg

okay so yeah Christmas gifts from friendsss

Top row is what I got like first week of December, three mysterious gifts and an envelope~ Mysterious~ Then yesterday USPS somehow delivered another package, this time from Japan.

Second row is what was inside~ I opened them this morning AND KRESNA YOU ARE TOO GOOD

he wrote a really nice card (which I’ll keep secret) and afterwards first thing he had me open was this

and at first I was like “ooooh purple wallet bag thing, neatt”, I open it up and there are some familiar-ish looking tools in there. Then he had me open the second gift- THE FREAKING HELLO KITTY CROCHET BOOK, THOSE THINGS WERE CROCHET NEEDLES, AAAAA

I WAS ABOUT TO BUY THE SAME THING TOO, I was like “okay I’ll wait until Christmas money if any” AND LO AND BEHOLD HE READ MY MIND SOMEHOW

like I’ve always really wanted to get back into sewing and learn how to crochet and I figure Amigurumi’s would be nice to make (I could make some of my OCs and other things too) and this jerk somehow managed to think one step ahead of me

and then of course he got me Girls’ Last tour volume 1 which aaaa he knows me wellll, the sad thing is is that I kiiinda forced my friend to buy me the three volumes as his Christmas gift to me- BUT, it all worked out, because as you can see in a later picture, for some reason BAM only had one copy of the book and it was really worn and yellow’d but we got it anyway, now I have a mint copy and a spare copy to give to another friend who may be interested in the series~

And of course the thing that came yesterday was a really nice Hobonichi Techo planner we were talking about (he tricked me making me think he was buying it for himself), as you can see it came in a yellow box and with a nice pen and food dice, and a nice cover and plastic protector, and a paper backer for writing without indenting on the following pages, and labels and aaaaaaaaa too good Kres too good

see I decided I was going to start writing in a diary for 2018 and try to write all positive things and so now I have an even nicer diary to work with (I’ll probably use both of them in different ways, this one is so nice I need to figure out what deserves to be put into itt)

ANYWAY, GUESS I’LL MOVE ONTO THE OTHER GIFTS...

The big compilation is in the middle. Top row of that pic is all the Kresna stuff, second row contains gifts from friends (and one for myself~) We had a gift exchange last week, a friend and I went halves and got another friend a neat figure (he’s hard to buy for but the moment he let slip he wanted something we got it for him), got another friend a Pokemon card-cut-into-keychain because I know he loves his Pokemans and his Riolus and his Pokeman cards of Riolus, a third friend a Pikachu santa plush because she loves all things Pikachu, and a last friend (the one who went halves on me) I got him a Kanna figure preordered because we watched Dragon Maids together and he loves his dragons and his figures (plus he deserved something nice even if it’d be late)

So yeah, Riolu-friend gave me the three GLT manga~ He mentioned a buy-3-get-1-free deal for manga, so I forced him to get me those (and the fourth one was another gift I gave to Dragon Maid friend from both of us), he be a generous and good sport. And said Dragon Maid friend surprised me with the entire box series of Rocko’s Modern Life aka my favorite cartoon as a kid and that was super nice

and of course I bought myself some things tooo

got the My Melody/My Sweet Piano key coverssss because they were on Etsy when I was shopping for Riolu friend, so I got them (of course I then lost my keys in his car and thus never got a chance to put them on...), still nice for any future keys I’ll eventually own (my spare bedroom key is too small for them unfortunately)

Also bought myself some nice shirts- The fabric feels a bit iffy but it may just need a wash, also I’m always scared to wash striped things for some reason so I don’t wear them as often as I should and I should fix that

also need to get better at choosing bottoms for myself, never have any idea how to find nice bottoms

long birthday accounting post below

mom was running late cuz jace needed a blood draw, she came and picked us up with jeff still in the car then we dropped him off at the hotel and went to southcenter. we realized on the drive there that they’d left the little clicky ding-y fire truck for jace in the trunk, and it was rolling and dinging back and forth as we drove, very comedic XD arin wanted a sushi burrito, so they got that and mom got some chicken just to make sure she ate something which she split with me, then we went back to the store we went to on arin’s birthday so I could get them the bag they’d hmed and hawed about at the time. we went to hot topic next door but they didn’t have any good loungefly designs, so we went to fuego who had good ones. they also had cute tiny earrings. we went to box lunch a couple doors down to check if they had anything better, they had a really good yzma one but I ended up picking the first one I saw at fuego that I loved. (they had an eeveeloution one that was smaller and was initially exciting, but it got boring to look at quickly, so even though it was technically discontinued I decided I didn’t actually want it, even though mom offered to just get them both.) coach also has a cute dandelion pattern I kept pointing at, but I’d literally just bought a new purse and they didn’t have any bag shapes I’d be excited to use.

we went to lush so I could get new soap (I have a chunk of rockstar that’s almost out, and I got poppy for the new one) but as mom was waving me off to go in she got distracted by the toy store across the hall cuz she wanted to find things for jace. that toy store happens to be the one that has the tiny house kits, they had some neat “origami sculpture” kits too but she got me a tiny house kit instead :D we also stopped by the lego store to look around. I really like the dr jones animal care no snakes window sign. mom said sean got her a babw gift card for mother’s day but she forgot to bring it so we may need to go together next time.

after that her lungs were bugging her, so we stopped in the container store to get little cable biters (I got a shark) and we drove to kinokuniya instead of taking the light rail. she had a lot of fun, although there was only like one dedicated shelving unit of sumikkos, and she ended up getting me a bunch of things (sumikko stickers, a corgi bee pin, not one but two of those paper nano kits I’ve been eyeing like. since we first went to the art store next door, and she gave me money so I could go look upstairs for kirby things but they were out of cute blind boxes :c they had the kirby art book, which is exciting, but then I remembered it’s being released in english next year and I’ll be able to enjoy it better that way so I decided to wait), and she got a bunch of stuff for herself too, which is good cuz that’s what we were there for XD (two books of sumikko stickers, a sheet of corgi stickers from the same artist, a sumikko maze board book, a sumikko keychain (shirokuma), and two sets of origami paper)

we went back to the hotel to open presents, jeff got me a shirt that said “un deux trois cats” and had drawings of cats on it, and mom got me the stim toy mystery bag I gave her the link to (extremely good! highly recommended! etsy link is [here]! so packed with fun things it is difficult to give an actual accounting! my favorite was a tiny rattly maraca with a smiley face on it!), pete’s farmer frog tank top, the books Because Internet and A Dream About Lightning Bugs, and a big nanoblocks peacock kit.

we went to cheesecake factory for dinner, I had an okay salad (I was mostly in it for the “bbq ranch dressing”) and the pineapple upside down cheesecake which I only ate part of and took the rest home, then they brought us home.

oh! and since it’s the first of the month I checked on rent and arin hasn’t gotten their financial aid yet so I had to cover it again :/ they say for this one they’ll pay me back as soon as aid disburses instead of once they have actual money, so at least there’s that.

I am super in love with this mug, even though the lid doesn’t exactly seal (it seems to stay on the mug nicely, but there’s no way to close the drinking hole part). So I better not tip it over!! The body of the mug has a really cool map of Narnia and the lid has the Fairyloot fairy on it!!!

This is probably my favorite thing in the box, no joke. I got a Throne of Glass tote in last month’s Shelflove Crate and I will probably be keeping this and giving the Throne of Glass tote to my BFF. It seems pretty sturdy (it needs to be, I’m not known for being gentle on my belongings) and I’ve been using it to carry my knitting projects and a book.

Estimating the value on subscription boxes is always hard because the items are mostly exclusive!!! When I’m calculating the values I try to look at other things that the artist has done (for example, checking their stores to see if their sell other versions of an item) and if that fails I try to guess what I would pay for the item.

I probably won’t be resubscribing to Fairyloot anytime soon, because even though I loved all the items and certainly got my money’s worth, I’m not sure it’s worth the cost for me. Fairyloot alone cost almost as much as my Owlcrate and Shelflove Crate subscriptions alone!!!
