So if you share a computer and don't have separate accounts, you risk someone else getting your passwords.
If you cross a country's border, they can go through it all.
Likewise, the cops can go through it all.
It can potentially take up an obscene amount of space and you won't know it until you get a low-space warning or try to install something larger than the space available given the frequency and size of the images this takes.
Microsoft says it's stored locally and you can delete them but is that actually the case?
It automatically whitelists everything except DRM'd content or private browser tabs for Chromium browsers (fuck you if you use Firefox I guess) so people have to manually go through and blacklist things like banking websites as otherwise it will record your login credentials for those.
Even if the images aren't sent to Microsoft, how is the data from the AI being transmitted and stored given the type of AI they purport to be using would have a database too big to fit in 50GB (the minimum requirement to enable it).
It's a security and safety nightmare, particularly if you share a computer with an abuser who's remotely tech savvy, travel between countries, or deal with/potentially will deal with cops.
Literal definition of spyware:
Also From Microsoft’s own FAQ: "Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers. 🤡
#i have to wonder if it's even compliant with the gdpr given how the computers and ai talk to each other#there's also the issue where deleting the images may just put them in your trash bin and that's all#so people who don't have that scheduled to auto-empty or manually empty it will still have clear images of their password/email combos#right there on their computer for anyone to look at#plus it would require talk over the internet and how long will it take before malicious actors find a way to tap into those#and you can bet microsoft is using it to figure out how to target ads at people based on what they're browsing/playing/using#and i'm not kidding about the abuser thing#it's trivially easy to password lock a folder#and it would be easy to spot when someone used private browsing (which you might do if you're looking for resources)#as there will be a gap in the timestamps and because it records every 5 seconds it would be obvious you were using the computer#and every 5 seconds? that will slow down performance a lot if using programs (esp if ram- or cpu- intensive) and eat up drive space so fast#they couldn't be bothered to even auto-blacklist banking sites before rolling this out...#oh yeah that's also a security risk so businesses and governments have to be exempt from it

Post Digest
I had so many posts yesterday, and I could not possibly answer them all in this lifetime. My apologies for not addressing these, but here they are.
The words belong to the anonymous original writers. They do not reflect my opinions. My posting of them doesn’t imply any endorsement.
· Anonymous said:
Chris really is trash for ruining another relationship maybe him and Jordyn woods can join the home wrecker club
· Anonymous said:
Mood, give up. People will blame you, the girl, the weather, everything but Chris, who could have easily avoided any assumption by not taking the pics. Pics with kids, pic of dog, hospital visits, videos for sick children all this is good PR and he used in the past. But where is the good on taking pics with dancers? They were not fans. He is not helping to make them being respected or less objectified. He is not bringing any discussion about their work conditions to the table.
· Anonymous said:
People saying this is nothing how do they explain her boyfriend deleting all of her pix? If it was nothing if she wasn’t with him why is boyfriend reacting that way?
· Anonymous said:
That girl was so completely lusting after Chris in her pics and posts that I think she absolutely would jump out of her current relationship if Chris so much as blinked her way. She was going to go anywhere he was. I will wait to see what happens but it looks like Chris may have made another poor decision. Why is this man so intelligent in some things but when it comes to women he is just so way off? If he thought SSH was bad, just wait for a young social media millennial. Disaster.
· Anonymous said:
Bella & her bf are still following each other on Instagram. Maybe he deleted those photos of her as a way of protecting her? Maybe he didn't want to make his Insta private & thought this would be a better way of doing things. In any case, he doesn't seem angry enough at her to unfollow her. But I don't think they broke up before the Chris thing, as he still had their professional couple photos up & they were still posting gushy comments to each other. So it's still weird and suspicious.
· Anonymous said:
What is up with Chris and taken women
· Anonymous said:
So I guess Chris really is a home wrecker
· Anonymous said:
I just want to say thank you for all the information you're providing about this whole Chris situation. I'd rather have the full (or as full as we can get it) story with all the pieces together so I can make up my own mind what to think, vs bits and pieces and people misreporting information that they heard third hand, etc. So your summary post with receipts was very much appreciated by me.
· Anonymous said:
To me the whole intern thing just seemed like she was trying to be linked to him judging by the times the ig pics went up. I guess everyone has their own opinions I know people who have basically said it was nothing and refused to talk about it but if it was someone else they would be all over it. It seems with him people pick and choose what issues of his they want to discuss. All of just seemed iffy especially know knowing that her bf deleted her pics. Hope you're have a lovely day.
· Anonymous said:
I’m worried about the people worried about your health. They’re so invested in this celebrity that they are policing your blog. He’s a successful, famous actor. He has a whole team of people to handle this. And, none of those people are contacting you...
· Anonymous said:
I don't get anons coming in here and complaining that you answering asks about the saturday night events is somehow blowing this thing up and causing drama. This anon should go to twitter where there are accounts that tag CE, JS, enty and provoking more and more ridiculous accusations, including Chris roofying Bella's drink etc. Twiddle at least sticks to things we can prove so if you wanna complain, go there and set these people straight. They make real damage not anonymous tumblr
· Anonymous said:
The boyfriend could just be fed up with her throwing herself at ce and then getting comments forcing him to go private. That would be enuf for a 20 yr old in a long distance relationship. Doesn’t mean she is shaking up with ce. He’s too paranoid to do that
· Anonymous said:
From what I've seen on Twitter, there's a little bit of talk about the burlesque aspect of it (mostly "Ugh, you're all such prudes, get over it!") but no one seems to be picking up on the intern part of it except for like 3 people. I'm torn. I kind of want to see him get shit for this, because he was very stupid and irresponsible, but OTOH I'd hate to see what kind of PR crap his people will pull up to distract everyone. A PRomance with Brie Larson, perhaps.
· Anonymous said:
Just a funny coincidence but it appears her (ex) bf and Chris share the same birthday lol. But either way not looking good. We can only speculate but it looks like her ex bf/bf didn't like her behavior towards him or something really did go down. 🦊
· Anonymous said:
I think everyone needs to accept their portion of responsibility in this situation. The people that harassed or contacted the interns, the girl and the performers need to respect boundaries. I understand you posts Anons, but you also decide which and how many. Yesterday you provided a platform and it had consequences, people felt emboldened and crossed lines. I think everyone can learn from this experience and correct their future behavior.
· Anonymous said:
So you keep saying your not sure if mark was there when multiple people keep saying he was.YOU keep saying that the pics were taking at the same or about the same time but theres no proof that they were. YOU keep putting out info that isnt accurate or just coincidental. that girl bf realise his gf is a thirsty ass and she got what she got but it doesnt mean anything happen between her and chris. NOTHING HAPPEN WITH THE INTERN STOP SPREADING SHIT!!
· Anonymous said:
I think the bf just wanted people to stop harassing him about her so he did that instead of privatize. Seemingly less like a breakup.
· Anonymous said:
It’s possible and probable her boyfriend deleted any pictures of her/them because he was tired of being harassed and getting bombarded with comments. He still follows her. He could have just muted the comment section, but maybe he was hoping by doing that it would help this all die down, and for people to lose interest. Which is laughable, because this particular fandom has a hard time letting go. Either way, I don’t necessarily think this is the beginning of a new relationship for Chris.
· Anonymous said:
Sending you love! I truly enjoy your blog and your commentary. What you wrote about your struggles with OCD resonates with me (I had anxiety issues as a teenager. Mild in comparison to some, but they dominated my life). I will try not to clutter your inbox from now on, but, please know you are appreciated and I love the discussions we have here.
· Anonymous said:
I think that putting the blame on this or other blog is a total waste of time. You know what would have avoided all this? Not taking those pics. How hard would be for him to STOP doing something that is doing no good to him? As you said, nothing positive comes out of this. He is not attending the ask of a cute kid. He is not visiting a hospital. He is helping a club to promote their name, something totally uncessary for an actor who reached his fame.
· Anonymous said:
The intern thing didn't make the rounds in the internt, but the meeting with Dan Creshaw did. Chris is being criticized for that and for the twitter interaction.
· Anonymous said:
Oy, its looking like she really did risk it all. Dumb childish mentality, what did anybody honestly expect from this situation? That poor boyfriend.
· Anonymous said:
I don't think it's a proof that something happened between her and Chris but for sure her bf (probably now ex) didn't aprove her behaviour and probably he thinks that some limits were crossed. I have to admit that I would not like to have a bf acting like that around a famous woman or any other woman and leaving traces in SM which is worse. I really, really hope that Chris is smart enough to stay away from that or another kind of fame will get attached to him besides the "f*ck boy" image.
· Anonymous said:
WHOA! Deleting all her pics? Does that mean Chris successfully ruined another relationship??? Whuut!?
· Anonymous said:
You are very kind and your head is definitely on straight. You’re less of an “opinion” blog and almost more of a news blog anyways. Don’t listen to the haters. You aren’t being overly invested, cruel, silly, or anything else. I’ve always found you to be fair.
· Anonymous said:
I looked at mark’s following list and he followed one other intern (a girl) who was also in the city but didn’t post from the box!
· Anonymous said:
Tbh, good for her bf-her behavior (the comments) were completely inappropriate IF in a relationship, long distance or not. Unbelievably disrespectful to him. Hope her thirstiness was worth losing a relationship and (maybe) an internship. I am several years older, but there is no way I would have behaved that way during my college internship. Morality clauses apply to personal time as well.
· Anonymous said:
Omg he deleted every pic with her. So now we know for sure that something happened that night lol
· Anonymous said:
And now apparently twitter thinks harpy was there with Chris and they're back together. Oh for fuck's sake!
· Anonymous said:
It's funny because many Chris instagram fan accounts just share the pic of him and the black singer/stripper but skip posting the other with the women group with clothes close to the nothing that they find I guess too trash for share with their followers in saying Chris with a fan in NYC without details.
· Anonymous said:
In the name of everybody sorry for the large number of asks we sent you and the tiredness we,people agree or not agree, have caused you. We don't think when we send you an ask that you will receive many, everybody, after seeing one and your answer, wanting share their opinion about what an anon or you said even if it's for exprime our agreement. It's a circle without end. I hope you had a good night. Let's forget that, this girl is history now,the fire is extinguished now. Kiss
· Anonymous said:
I've been seeing this gifset on my dashboard lately from Chris' interview captioned "I'm smarter than I look". No idea if the quote is real because I've never seen this particular interview but I think given the turn of events of the past few days it's appropriate to say "no, Chris, you aren't" LOL
· Anonymous said:
Ok, I can't believe I'm saying this, but this whole messy situation really turns me off. I've always known Chris isn't a saint, that he's NOT Steve Rogers irl, going to clubs like The Box is not a new thing for him, but he should've known better. I want to believe he's not that dumb, but he's THAT dumb. This is really upsetting and I'm so disappointed. After all those good days working on a serious project in DC, does he really not care about his image being sleazy like that? Damn it, Chris.
· Anonymous said:
So Chris alone went to greet the dancers? From what Manuel submitted, that’s what it seems like. She wasn’t there with him and his friends exactly, but somehow found out where they were and met up with them? I’m so over talking about this. Idk how you’ve done this all day Twiddle. My bedtime prayer is dedicated to you tonight.
· Anonymous said:
Thank you Twiddle for taking your time to answer here and on DM. I know you also do it so that you will be best informed to answer any questions here, we appreciate that some took the time to gather more information for the rest of us. It seems like at the end of these gossip we all end up confirming our first guest. I feel we shouldn't give this girl more room. My conclusion for the day is either he never thought that girl was that thirsty or he's really just dumb. I'm going with cute but dumb
· Anonymous said:
It's not a great look for him to be pictured at places like that, particularly when he's employed by a family-friendly company like Disney. He's been obsessed with protecting his image ever since he got the role of Cap. Btw, I am not surprised he goes to places like that but you'd think he'd be smart enough not to get his picture taken.
· Anonymous said:
Have people forgotten that one of these thirsty hanger-on types (just like this intern seems to be) is someone who sent a video of Chris to tmz? I mean, he wasn't doing anything bad-just partying it up after a super bowl and he looked like a drunk frat boy. But even that got a dodger pic response. My point is that he should be smarter about people around him, especially when he's drunk.
· Anonymous said:
Denying pics comes with its own risks. You don’t want to piss people off because that can have its own dangers. This has happened with other celebs. There have been several occasions where his pics have been in return for free bottle service or other perks. I am not saying that is the case here though. Not trying to argue with you mod, just saying it’s not black and white. A lot of mistakes were made here and the worst part is how avoidable it was. But most seem to hinge on Bella’s actions. 🐩
· Anonymous said:
Mark follows a few of the interns from DC, 2 of whom (Bella & another woman) posted from NYC Saturday night & this evening. Also a few of Mark's friends are NYC as well. It's not far fetched that going to The Box was his idea. Also Mark would've needed to make a reservation to ensure they got in.
· Anonymous said:
I think you hit the nail. What Chris gets from taking those pics? For sure he is being polite and the people involved get happy but taking how society works and how many people think and what they can do with that information, he got nothing good on posing for those pics. And saying that is just pointing out and realising how society works. People are hypocrite and mysoginist.
· Anonymous said:
I feel you on the eating away at your Sunday. It’s not my blog and even *I* can’t believe how much time I’m devoted to this, much less the swamp you must be dealing with. Really appreciate your views and your time. I feel so silly that I’ve gotten so caught up in it but it’s like a car accident you can’t turn away from. Get some rest and lots of love. 🐩
· Anonymous said:
People been posting Info but clearly no one believes it. That tree anon mention it.
· Anonymous said:
People who are saying Mark was there and that she was there with a group of friends are just assuming as much as anyone else who says Chris and the girl were there with each other. The only thing we know for sure is that they were both on the same place, at the same night, around the same time, after meeting the day before. We can't deny that.
· Anonymous said:
I’d like to say this girl blew her chances but this is the same guy who gave MK & JS multiple chances despite their fame whoring ways. Whatever it is it won’t last long but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re seen together again. Too bad. His political project was exciting. Now it’s tainted because he’s proven what a lot of people thought of him to be true.
· Anonymous said:
You need to let it go now. This is a non story. It’s looking more like two separate trips were in the works and it was a “oh hey us too maybe we’ll see you we were thinking of checking out this club” now apparently you think because he’s ancient and she’s an impressionable child and burlesque shows are akin to live porn he should have shut it down. But those of us in the common sense world see this for what it was. Which is a giant nothing. So tip to TMZ. Guarantee they will think the same.
· Anonymous said:
For gods sake. Read and post my second ask to you. Stop all this madness. Yes they know each other. That is it. They were at same club and of course hung out a little. So what They met at first dc meet I think. He was nice to her She was nice back. Nothing wrong with people meeting and being cool. Even if famous
· Anonymous said:
Maybe I should rewrite this but Your acting as they were they in DC together. They MET and photographed but wasnt there together as Your wording puts it. Like I said you dont know of they were backstage together. Pics can be upload at any time of the night . Your just jumping to conclusions like everyone else.
· Anonymous said:
The way some of you talk about women is so damn depressing ugh this fandom is on one today.
· Anonymous said:
Liked what the PR/crisis anon mentioned, that it's wrong to think Chris was uninvolved in JS and MK's stunts when he dated them. It's naive to think he is that helpless and easily controlled.
· Anonymous said:
What i really don't understand is how chris could have been so so dumb and didn't think of the consequences. Also his pr underestimated the whole situation. The girl was blatantly seeking attention and a story to tell, and any person with a brain would have got the danger of the all situation. I know that he loves partying but he was so superficial i can't even put into words. In my opinion the project has been hurt by this and everything happened today showed that.
· Anonymous said:
2/2) as if he wanted to do that. I doubt he asked, but was asked to do it. 3) The girl jumped on the chance to go backstage after the invitation and took the pic. 4) People put the pieces together because the girl was thirsty the day before and liked the attention she got from her friends but now there is a chance she ruined the trip a little as people ran to protect their privacy.
· Anonymous said:
I think if Chris wants to be taken seriously in what ever he decides to do. He needs to grow up and act his age and stop drinking as much and hang around different people that includes his friends from Boston. I feel most of his friends are just there for the ride including Tara. If he does ever get married she will have to trust him to no end.
· Anonymous said:
"it's not at all weird for people here on a blog that is predominantly about Chris to talk more about chris' antics than about anyone else's. It doesn't mean they're more worried or think what he's done is worse, it's just that this blog is a place to talk about him more than anyone else. Nice try though." Nice try what? If you read the full ask, as Chris's fan, I'm more concerned that's he's doing publicity pics with treasonous Nazis than hanging at a burlesque show w/ an intern. But you do you
· Anonymous said:
Hi! Sorry for this question but I just don´t understand what is going on here with Chris and this intern? I try to scroll down your page but I still don´t understand what has happened.
· Anonymous said:
Some who don't have problem that Bella flies to NY and post the picture at the same place where was Chris was the first to be offend that Jenny posts pic when she was at the same place that Chris whereas she was dating him. Be careful anons I'm not a pro Janey but people were rude with her when it was normal(even if she trolled), she was spending time with his boyfriend but when another women did the same, without dating him, they think it's okay. Why?
· Anonymous said:
I'm genuinely curious about what kind of impression he was trying to make on her? like you wanna hook up with this chick & you're letting her know that you like to gawk at other half naked chicks in your free time? Unfortunately this will never blow up, if his PR team can bury homewrecker scandal then they can bury anything.
· Anonymous said:
He seems to unconsciously be attracted to attention-seeking women who view him as a prize. I wonder if it’s a defense mechanism to prevent him from entering a serious relationship? Also, seriously, why wouldn’t you just make it clear to her that she shouldn’t post their escapades on social media from the start? Has he learned nothing from the Jobby debacle????
· Anonymous said:
Okay, from her comments and that pose, that's a girl that has no problem pushing someone out the way to get noticed. Like the pic, the side she was on was trying to get four people in, compared to the 3 on the other, so they had to turn sideways. I can see her making sure she was the one next to him. She didn't have to put her hand on his shoulder or stomach. She was trying for his attention. Did she get it? Don't know. Don't really care, but that's a college-age Janey. Just want that fame.
· Anonymous said:
Now that there are pics of them together and seeing the way she's posing with her hands on his chest and shoulder (it is very reminiscent of SSH, isn't it? Which would hurt if I was js lol) taken with the comments from her and her friends, all I can say is YIKES. And also, SMH. I am not a prude and I actually like burlesque and have been to The Box and fully expected him to hook up with somebody in DC ~on the low~ but even I can say this is not a good look for him. This boy will never learn.
· Anonymous said:
I’d like to think that he’d cut all ties to Bella now the he’s created a PR nightmare for himself, yet again. But considering for almost 3 years he was involved with a woman who was married when they originally met & got involved, I don’t think he will care. At least Jenny was almost the same age as him. He’s looking like an upgraded version of Dane Cook. For anyone who doesn’t know, Dane Cook’s girlfriend is 19, they started dating when she was 18, but were “friends” before that 🙄🤢
· Anonymous said:
The more I see from this girl the more I think she’s just a thirsty very immature little girl. And has no idea what she could potentially cost Chris. But he’s not innocent as she found out where he was going somehow.. And then posted it everywhere. Him or his team should have warned them to be cautious. And once they arrived not continued to entertain them and allow them backstage. An adult would have said nice to see you I’m going over here goodbye. Just another dumb d*#k brain decision.
· Anonymous said:
Oh, man... the boyfriend. I didn't even think about him. Can you imagine if the situation was reverse and her bf was acting that way towards a famous woman? I can imagine myself on that situation and I wouldn't like it. Even if she was just joking, which i don't think she was just doing that, it would be disrespectfull. I hope he is not hurt.
· Anonymous said:
Tks for the clarifycation for don't hate the player. So the girl had no shame to run after a man who has close the double of her age just because he is famous. Not sure she is again with her boyfriend but if she is, he would be very happy. It's clear, even if Chris makes bad choices in women, he wouldn't do nothing with her, discretion level he couldn't count on her. 5min with him and she shared and tried already trash things.
· Anonymous said:
And Chris, wearing that Red Sox cap in NYC will bring you a lot of unwanted attention ;)
· Anonymous said:
He was probably advised to stay away from twitter or he decided to do that.
· Anonymous said:
"He doesn’t deserve to be placed on a pedestal. " Literally no personal should be put on a pedestal. NO ONE. Mothers, fathers, friends, siblings, celebrities, every single person does stupid shit or has 'problematic' opinions. If you place anybody (family, friends, celebrities) on a pedestal, you're only looking to get disappointed.
· Anonymous said:
Lets be real-Chris is charming, he is a schmoozer. He was working the crowd in DC. If you are nice to someone, than you get your interview. This time he snagged a desperate fan girl & hung out with her. Not the type of guy I would ever want to be involved with. I could not be w/ a guy that wanted to go to those types of clubs. I think SSH didn't like it either. If this is the life he wants to live he will either have to find a person ok with it, change or be single. 10 steps back for me.
· Anonymous said:
I think she is just a fan with a crush and people are reading into this way too much. I don’t think that’s her hand on his shoulder and the pose is also something we’ve seen in comic con pics. Her “way good friend lol” to means she is joking because he isn’t. The “don’t hate the player hate the game” is again joking and means don’t be mad at her because she got to meet him and her friend didn’t. Was there flirting ? Maybe but we know he does with everyone and she might thought it was just her.
· Anonymous said:
I don't know how publicits work. Do they keep track of the mentions of their clients in SM? I wonder if Chris' publicist is already checking the situation. TIME FOR A DODGER PIC IF YOU ARE READING HERE!!!!!
· Anonymous said:
I find it hard to believe Chris would use this venture to go fishing for a college aged hookup or girlfriend. He mentions age and sneaking into bars in that video, so he also knew her (Bella’s) approximate age. I have no doubt he gets plenty of action and isn’t a saint, but this truly seems like she is playing up something that doesn’t exist. I question her more than him here, again, because he knows this is an important project with “real life” important people, not hollywood actors.
· Anonymous said:
Chris seems so immature. I know we want to put the blame on Janey and MK and all the other girlfriends but honestly am I the only that thinks maybe it’s HIM who’s the problematic one? Idk I’m young so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about lol
· Anonymous said:
All this shot is crazy. I’m know Chris is no saint but come on! At least let her be in her late twenties or early thirties! That’s nasty because she’s two years younger than me!
· Anonymous said:
I’m not down for slut shaming in any regard. If anything happened, Chris was most definitely down for it. I just think it was dumb on her part, because she posted about it. Any potential employers could see this as a red flag. They don’t want to deal with the fallout of an employee causing a potential PR scandal, especially in the political world. Like if she did this once, she’ll prob do it again. I don’t think she’s gunning to be Mrs. Evans, but she def wanted to party and maybe hook up.
· Anonymous said:
There was another video of him sending a message to a different person on a different day. I don't think the fact she ask him to do that means anything
· Anonymous said:
For someone who seemed smart enough to get near a HW star, she sure was pretty naive and had no clue on how this fandom work LOL
· Anonymous said:
But what damage could be done ? It’s not like he did something bad. There is no need to excuse his behavior because nothing illegal was done it’s not like he was caught with a 17 year old in a “massage parlour”. You guys also need to stop with this “he is almost 40” like he was supposed to stop having fun and living his life at 35. If you don’t like it fine don’t live YOUR life that way but don’t be mad at him for refusing to just settle and die because he is “almost 40” .
· Anonymous said:
Not be agree with the places Chris frequents doesn't mean we think he is Cap. I have enought to hear this explication, like we are too much stupid to make the difference between the actor and the role he plays. With the conversation we have here, the majority of anons aren't teenagers i guess. A lot of people don't feel comfortable with the sex industry(porno, stripclub or the one night stand). It would be my brother,my neighbour,my cousin,it's a vice we don't understand not naivety about Chris.
· Anonymous said:
I don't have much to say about this situation but I wouldn't be surprised if it does turn out to be something sleazy. I mean, this is a guy who had an affair with his married co-star and just a few weeks after she actually left her husband for him, he was going to strip clubs & she was tweeting about how that upset her. So he's not always a stand up guy. Mostly I find it funny that even when the girl is a young intern not in HW, she's STILL an attention seeking type. His picker is so broken.
· Anonymous said:
Well, Chris definitely has a type.
· Anonymous said:
I don't think that people are being judgemental but more worried about the consequences that this could create. Internet can make things scalate too quickly and even change the facts. But let's be honest. Chris is white, male, straight, rich. He will be ok. But he has to stop taking pics in those places. Remember when he was dating JS and he went to a certain place in Canada? No pics, people left it behind. That's the right thing to do. No pics, so it's as if it didn't happen.
· Anonymous said:
Burlesque clubs in NYC are often listed in magazines as “things to do” in the city. They are seen as touristy activities. I can see a young girl being excited to go & asking for a hookup to get vip treatment. The place is not what you guys are making it out to be.
· Anonymous said:
Oh please. How should he have celebrated international women’s day ffs. This is starting to get ridiculous. Women. Including 20 year old ones are allowed to go to burlesque clubs. Get out of here with that comment. And if you’re going to invoke a feminist day maybe consider the fact that she went of her own volition? I mean this insinuation that he took a naive child to a strip club. It’s starting to get a bit unhinged up in here.
· Anonymous said:
Are we forgetting he got involved with a whole ass married woman? Lmao, this whole situation is not much of a stretch as people are making. I wish he’d grow up like all of you. He talks the talk of wanting to be a husband and father. He paints himself as a family man. Which yes, he is family oriented. But then he does things like this, which are unfortunately also on brand given his past. Megan, his publicists names I believe, better be getting paid time and half putting out these fires lol.
· Anonymous said:
Right but this is like barely a scandal. We’re just focused on it and there are some social media comments. So for all those saying he should be seen doing serious things umm he is? For the casual fan his serious image is 100% in tact. And my guess is will stay that way. This will blow over in 48 hours tops. It’s not getting any traction other than gossip corners of the internet. Being seen seriously doesn’t mean living like a monk ffs. He didn’t do anything wrong, y’all just dramatic and judgy.
· Anonymous said:
I think we can all agree no matter what the reality might be, the optics aren’t great. If him &his friend are trying to get this new project off the ground in DC, and hes being photographed in a burlesque club in NYC in the same vicinity as DC interns, the DAY AFTER giving interviews, the optics are awful. Politicians would be quick to distance themselves from their project and with those hes already met, potentially wouldn’t give him their time again, especially if their interns are involved.

If the other interns were there they were smart not to post about it. Like that other anon said I imagine the people in D.C. will not be happy about this I’m sure there are social media rules about how to behave.

Mark's been to The Box before, he's posted stories from his trips there.

Some are ok to see a 38 years old man having habits in strip, nightclub and before Playboy party. Good. Some women don't like men like it!Chris or not Chris! I find it perverse,it's all. Frat boys aren't my type of men and great my man isn't like it. And i don't see Chris change when he will be married. There will always be a Mark or an Adam for ask him to go. Scott seems to enjoy trashy club but Zack too so they go as a couple. Maybe am i too prude 😒

This truly blew up fast. Not a Pats fan, but a few years ago, Edelman hooked up w/ a girl he met out partying & she posted a pic of them in bed the next morning on Snapchat. I’m not saying that Chris hooked up with her, we will never know & honestly it’s no one’s business. But both situations definitely seemed opportunistic, but at least with this one people are holding Chris accountable too. The other girl got slut shamed majorly. Like girls, you don’t have to post everything on social media.

Even if there were more interns there, even if Mark was there with Chris... if they went with the interns it's still not a good look. They are both near their 40's. It's a no to rang out with 20's, principally in that kind of enviroment that revolves around sex. This could be used to damage his image, his career, this could be used to damage their initiative about the political site. It just take one article or one tweet from a Trump supporter with many followers for that.
· Anonymous said:
She may or may not have been the only intern with him. She may or may not have ended up with him last night. This time it’s slipped on social media. Imagine all the other times it hasn’t! Disappointed if he’s on the same Leo, Cary Fukunaga and Jake train but are we surprised? Women around his age think differently, and clearly he’s not settling down this minute. Wonder what else would leak. I’ll be here with my tea and popcorn.
· Anonymous said:
This doesn’t look good, but at the same time I feel bad for this girl and her BF, fellow interns, friends, etc. Suddenly a rabid fan base is combing through their every move trying to play detective. I get the curiosity, I’m curious too, but I know how people overreact. And while most are fine, already people are crossing the line and commenting. Not a kick on you, just kinda crazy the lengths that some go to. I’m so glad I grew up without social media for most of my life.

I feel that a conveniently timed Dodger video (or photo) is imminent. Or will we go really old school with a video for a sick child? Some sort of distraction from the current (I agree ,totally inappropriate) drama. Thing is that sort of tactic will only work for so long, less and less people will forget each time. While there's no problem visiting a burlesque club, hell I've been myself, it's the company you take to the club that should be more carefully considered. Not a smart move.

Of course he has pr. But people don’t understand how pr works. He doesn’t clear every private dumb decision with them and ask for professional pr advice. He lives his life (and makes dumb mistakes clearly!) but typically a professional pr team isn’t involved unless it affects him professionally, like blows up into a scandal affecting his image and work. They don’t babysit his private life. We’re all fired up about it on our corner of the internet but we’re not really at a true scandal.

People were rightfully dragging Cavill for dating a 19 year old.Chris went to a strip/ burlesque club with a young girl (since one woman posted about them on the birthday video we know they were there together) and there are people still thinking this is ok? (Not saying you do mood) He is stupid many times: one for doing it, one for thinking that is ok, one for leaving traces of it.Oh, wait. The girl is the one who left the traces. That remember me of someone else who used to leave proofs behind.

Ok. I remember when him an Janey broke up, and a few weeks later he was in Houston for the Super Bowl. Him and his friends met some girls at a party, and he invited some of them back to the house with them. Some videos were uploaded. I don’t think this is that different. He went away for a trip, met a girl, and invited her along for the ride. More than likely this is nothing, and this girl is just being opportunistic. He really needs to pick ladies who can use discretion in the future.

I think this is just an example of how celebrity image works. If you aren’t part of Chris fandom or gossip you have no clue. Just a basic google news search for him right now shows his DC rounds and Captain Marvel tweet. And that’s the image he wants to have (and I think genuinely does to a point). But isolated Instagram pics that don’t fit easily into a narrative are never going to get traction. Sure they’ll always be there because internet, but give it another week and it’ll barely be a blip.

Chris is this guy who invite strangers during party/games night in his house or girls who his friends and him met to à bar for partying in friend's house(the tmz video after the end of round 1),it's seem to be how he is but he is the guy, in doing that who trust in everybody and after there are these kind of pic/video not flattering in not flattering place. I see some say he is single so he's enjoy it but he did it when he was with JS, her tweet where she was upset to his bf going to stripclub.

This would not be blowing up if this bella girl had seemed to be in the company of the same friends at the box as she went to NYC with but that is not the case. Mark might have been with them too but why would this rocky lanes person only follow bella's IG and not Mark's too?

I haven't heard the video but the "my way good friend" comment seems like a joke. My phone was acting weirs so I don't know if my last ask got through: this bella girl is in NYC with friends from DC and a guy named doug, who works in DC, and has also met Chris is with her. High end club or not, I checked the pic bellanovemberr posted with the women in her stories and their room seems cheap and have holes in the ceiling. It doesn't matter how expensive those places are, I always at least side eye how they treat women. Their employees deserve better and more respect.

C'mon! It is one of the most exclusive night clubs in NY. I read the reviews of The Box on the web and there’s nothing wrong with attending such a place. It is not absolutamnete a local “hard”. as he quotes a review I found: “It’s definitely not a local hard if any of you are asking, it’s fun, crazy and weird … it totally reflects New York.”
And, maybe, it was the birthday video girl who invited Chris to go there.

Do you think it’d be weird if Chris hooked up with a 20 year old...I mean look at Leo Dicaprio and his girlfriend

Some people have serious problems with celebrities (here: Chris), pedestals, and managing their own fantasies and expectations. They build them up up up, and inevitably get SERIOUSLY broken hearted, hurt, and bitter, when the celeb in question obviously fails to live up to them. I mean, how can they? They're human, and almost never actually aware of these expectations. And I wish I could say that these fans are young and inexperienced, but a lot of them are adults, so...

"Her IG is also followed by Mark Kassen, who is also in New York." Mark followed her the same day she posted that video.
· Anonymous said:
I'm not naive to think single/married man and other famous actors don't go to those places but how many of them have pics taken there? None. I checked the club and it's a sort of freak show club too and celebs are part of the customers. A Vanity Fair article mentioned some names. But no pics. So it doesn't stick with them. It can be said that it's hipocritical go there and refuse pics but it would be the best decision for his image. Let's bet he will post a pic of Dogder?

Recently I came across this Don Cheadle interview on Seth Meyers, where he talked about him,Evans,RDJ,Hemsworth & Renner going to Burlesque club in London & nobody recognising them on street so I guess they all are into this kind of entertainment but only this guy is dumb enough to take pics

She didn't do all the things without have something in mind. She lost her boyfriend for have the attention of Chris for few hours. Well play girl.

I don’t think that one who makes a happy birthday video like this to a girl for her twenties, surprising her age so young, then he decides to have fun with a girl of the same age or little more.

I had a productive week. A bunch of stuff is fixed, and I finished a first version of multi-file url downloading.
multi-file support
A limitation of the old download system is that it always assumed a single 'post URL' could only ever produce a single file. This week, I have added full support for multi-files-per-post-URL to the new downloader. If a new parser generates multiple 'downloadable' URLs, the file import queue will generate and insert new download objects for each. Tags and associable URLs should all be passed along to the children as appropriate.
As a result, I can finally roll out support for several sites that provide files in this way. I've updated the inkbunny post parser, and added twitter tweet and artstation post parsers, so all these should now be drag-and-droppable onto the client. The twitter parser only supports images--no videos yet. The inkbunny parser may put its multi-files slightly out of order, and in one of my tests it pulled the artist profile picture as well, so it may need some tweaking. IB have a proper API, but it requires some login stuff, so I will look at that again when I have the new login system done.
And of course I have added a pixiv manga parser, which has been highly requested for a long time. This was fairly complicated, but I think I got all the referral URLs and tags lined up correct. It can even add 1-indexed page tags. Unfortunately, pixiv just changed my test login to the new (currently broken) JSON/javascript layout just today, as I did final testing. If it turns out pixiv have switched everyone over to the broken layout on the very day I finally roll out manga support, I think my head is going to explode, but even if so, I am confident the javascript layout is parsable--it'll just take a bit more work. I expect to have a fix for all pixiv users for v311 if another user doesn't post one sooner.
This multi-file parsing is a first version. There may be bugs, so please let me know. I also don't really like how the initial post URLs' file import objects get counted as 'successful' like a regular file, so I may make a new 'successfully parsed' type to distinguish them a bit and alter the file progress counts appropriately.
misc
The new 'x% in' video thumbnail generation works better and fails better now, including some better workflow and error-reporting when regen is manually started by the user. If you had some videos that failed to import or regen last week, please try them again and let me know if you still have problems.
The multiple watcher now has a 'check now' button.
I added a semi-crazy prototype checkbox to options->gui that puts all your page tabs on the left. It needs a restart to kick in. Test it at your own risk.
The new download system now informs the new network engine of file limits in your 'file import options'! So, if you say 'don't get gifs bitter than 32MB', and the server clearly identifies a newly started download as a gif with size 50MB, the download will be abandoned and a veto/ignored status set immediately! It also works with the regular min/max filesize as appropriate. Let me know if it goes wrong!
I cleaned up some file repository thumbnail sync and display code all around.
github
Github got bought by Microsoft, so I am considering migrating somewhere else. I only use Github as a file/code host and the workflow of syncing there is easy, so I may or may not go, or may just put it off and see what happens during the transition. I am interested in your thoughts on the whole deal and what you think of the alternatives.
full list
updated the inkbunny file page url class to acknowledge that inbunny pages can have multiple files
updated the inkbunny file page parser to handle multiple file urls (although they may be out of order and possibly sometimes include the artist profile image--this was not super easy)
added a parser for twitter tweets (only images supported atm, but it can handle multiple!) (hence tweet drag and drop now works!)
updated the artstation file page url class to redirect to a new api url class
wrote an artstation file page parser that also handles multiple file urls
updated/added pixiv file page, manga page, and mange_big url classes
updated pixiv file page parsers to be ok with manga links
wrote parsers for pixiv manga and manga_big pages to fetch manga files (with page tags)!
file import objects can now create semi-duplicate children for multi-file post urls and insert them just after themselves in the file import queue.
file import objects can now receive and remember referral urls. this referral url is associated with the file if appropriate. the watcher and simple downloader now uses this in addition to the multi-file post system
jumbled around some parameters and merged the two new file import url commands (import 'file' vs import 'post') into one single simple 'work on this url, thanks' call that is now used across the program
the parsing system's 'content parser' no longer fetches file urls and post urls, but 'download urls' and 'source urls'. this helps some pipeline logic and also lets post urls be download urls
when file import objects parse post urls as the urls to download, it now creates 1-n new import objects, just like if multiple file urls.
improved some file import object file association code
the new parsing system will de-dupe parsed urls
refactored the 'seed' code, which handles all basic file import objects, to the new ClientImportSeeds.py
added a new string transformation type, 'integer addition', for shifting page number tags up and down
fixed thumbnail generation for some videos that failed to do the new x%-in generation--it reverts more reliably just to the old frame 0 method
file reparsing popup now has a stop button
fixed an issue where extremely thin or wide (ratio > 200:1) images would not generate a full-size or resized thumbnail
the file reparsing/re-thumbnailing now reports errors better (including with full path) and does not abandon the larger job as it works
misc thumbnail generation code improvements
improved some thumbnail and file regeneration/moving code when the existing file has read-only status
the multiple watcher now has a 'check now' button
added a checkbox to options->gui that will put new notebook page tabs on the left
for all file download network jobs working in the new download system, the file import options for min size, max size, and max size (gifs) are now applied _during the download_! if the server tells the client the exact file size in the response headers, it will test max and min size before the content is actually downloaded--otherwise, it will test the max size as it downloads. if the server clearly says the file is a gif, the max gif size rules will also be tested in the same way
cleaned up some bandwidth announcement code--now, if bandwidth is due in less time than override time, that will now correctly be the status text
the bandwidth status no longer says 'in in' typo
fixed up some tag repair code from last week
the 'print garbage' debug function now dumps a whole bunch more data to the log
the thumbnail cache should now be a bit more stoic about missing repository thumbnails--it should now just present the hydrus default backup without error popup spam
the repository thumbnail sync will now get as thumbs in blocks as high as 10k at a time, rather than the old 100
hydrus network requests no longer generate web domain network contexts (and so won't have a default one-request-per-second bandwidth limit and should stream through thumbnails a bit faster)
hydrus network services are now willing to wait longer for bandwidth, so big thumbnail queues should keep working even if other bottlenecks pause them for a bit
hydrus network services will no longer sometimes have double-sync popups if synced from the advanced 'sync now' button in review services
changed the default global 'stop-accidents' bandwidth rule of 120rqs per minute to 512MB per minute. this only affects new users, but users trying to sync to large file repos might like to make a similar change manually
doing giant full file delete (i.e. purge from trash) jobs should now be a bit gentler on the gui
improved how the client deletes paths, clarifying in the code when and when not to allow recycle (usually disabled for thumb disposal)
switched the hacky text widgets on the popup system to a newer object. seems to still render ok, so lets see if it fixes some unusual layout issues some users have seen
if the temp folder cannot be created on boot, the client will continue anyway
fixed some url-domain text handling in db storage that was also breaking v309 update for some users
fixed some additional domain generation error handling at the db level
the list of url classes in the system:url panel is now the list of all url classes that are considered associable (before, it was file and post urls)
if a url class now api-links to itself or otherwise forms a loop with n other api url classes, the client will now throw an error (rather than lock up in an infinite loop!)
in the parsing ui, tag parse test results are now cleaned before being displayed
fixed misc url matching error reporting bug
when consulting the current file limit, the gallery page downloader will now try, when it has that number, to consult the total number of urls found it the current search (old behaviour is to only consult the number of _new_ urls, which lead to some bad edge-case workflows)
misc refactoring
next week
I am going to take a light week next week so I can shitpost E3. I will try and keep up with messages, but I'll only do a little fixing work. I will get back to regular schedule on the 16th, which means v311 will be on the 20th. I will make a 'No Release Tomorrow!' post on the 12th.
I am a little ill and completely exhausted, so an easy week is coming at a great time.
I am still really enjoying making hydrus. Thank you for all your continued support!

My Deleted Apps
Deleted Apps Still Show In Storage Mac Os
I’m a Mac user and I use it for storing large-sized files. I’m a video special effects specialist and I am responsible for my company’s large video files. I just heard about the Purgeable storage in macOS Sierra. What is it? Can you tell me more about this Purgeable storage?
You’re in the right place. I'll show you about what is Mac Purgeable space and how to remove purgeable space on Mac. Tips: iMyMac PowerMyMac can help you easily clean up your Mac to remove purgeable space, just have a free trial below.
Article GuidePart 1. What is Mac Purgeable Space?Part 2. How to Manage Your Mac Storage?Part 3. How to Remove Purgeable Space on Mac?Part 4. Bonus Tip: How to Preview Purgeable Storage In Your Sierra?Part 5. In Conclusion
So as you delete pictures you don't reduce the size of the app until you empty the Photos trash. This was making my crazy until i figured it out! On the current Photos app, the Recently Deleted folder is available from the left-hand folders pane. On earlier versions it's available from the File menu, under 'Show Recently Deleted'. When Apple added its storage management feature to macOS Sierra and newer, called Optimize Storage, it reorganized what 'other' storage is and where it's located on the Mac. Much of it has been divided out through other categories so it's easier to find and remove. The 100GB of Other storage I used to carry on my iMac is whittled down to just 5GB.

Part 1. What is Mac Purgeable Space?
What's the meaning of Purgeable? Mac Purgeable Space is actually related to the Optimized storage feature of your macOS Sierra. Apple didn’t make your hard drive space bigger. What they’ve done is to handle the limited space on your Macintosh with the help of cloud storage. This, in turn, made one part of your storage bar and turned it into a piece called “Purgeable.”
You must notice that there is other and purgeable in about this Mac. Now, let’s dive more into detail with the said slice of the storage pie. Purgeable storage actually contains files that your macOS refers to as suited for removal.
That’s why it’s called purgeable, it can actually be deleted from your drive without causing any issues. If Optimized storage is activated, a lot of files gets transferred to the cloud. Some of them are referred to as optional files.
Tip:How to deal with the issue of 'Your startup disk full'?
Purgeable Files: Which Ones Are Considered Such?
No one is 100% sure as to which files are considered purgeable. Some guessed that files and system-generated files that have these two criteria are considered purgeable:
Super old files you have not used or opened for a really long time.
Files that are already synced to iCloud. Thus, the original file can be removed on your Mac device since it already has a copy on iCloud.
Mac Purgeable files vary in types. It can be any type out there. It can be movies you watched on iTunes. Or, it can also be language files you have never used before. The type of language files that your system hasn’t displayed cause you might not need it or might not understand it.
However, what renders these files purgeable and what does it actually mean? The system on your device looks for these files. It knows that when your Mac is about to run out of disk space and your Optimized Storage is activated, it can automatically delete these files to free your storage of space.
Part 2. How to Manage Your Mac Storage?
You may use a computer to store all your files like photos and videos, then you will have a hard time finding more available space on your Mac's internal drive. So you can get some space by managing and optimizing storage on your Mac.
When you choose to manage your computer's storage space, there are 4 parts to operate. Let's first see how to find these options:
Click About This Mac under the Apple Menu.
Select and click the Storage tab, you will see your available macOS storage.
Press Manage, you will now access storage management options.
Select Recommendations from the left column.
Now you will see 4 options including Store in iCloud, Optimize Storage, Empty Trash Automatically and Reduce Clutter. Let's discuss how to use them to help you manage your storage separately:
Store in iCloud
With this option, icloud stores only the latest files and optimized photos, and icloud downloads them when you need them. In this way, it saves a lot of storage space.
Optimize Storage
When choosing this option, the purgeable categories are added to your storage details. After clicking the Optimize Storage button, there are iTunes movies and attachments you can manage specifically to save your Mac storage.
Empty Trash Automatically
This option allows you set Mac delete items from the Trash automatically after saving for 30 days. Just select Finder>Preferences>Advanced>Check the box that says 'Remove Items from the Trash after 30 days'.
Reduce Clutter
This option allows you to select and delete any files you unneeded anymore to save some space on Mac. By pressing Review Files button, you will see a new window jumps out and shows you all the apps and files stored on your Mac. You can delete by file type (selected in the sidebar).
Tip: You can uninstall unneeded apps on your Mac completely with PowerMyMac Uninstaller, here shows you how to uninstall OneDrive on Mac as a reference.

How to Remove Purgeable Storage On Your Device?
Actually, you don’t need to do this by yourself. But if you wish to do so, you can move to the next part of this guide.
Mac Purgeable space is there in that whenever your device is running out of space, you will be safe knowing that it will automatically clear up the allocated purgeable space.
This will lead to more free space on your Mac. The best thing to do for you to avoid lifting a finger is to activate other Storage. In this way, your device will automatically purge the said files. To do this, follow the steps below:
Go to the About This Mac menu.
Next, go to the Storage tab.
After which, press Manage.
Now, you have the ability to activate a particular option that you wish to be synced to iCloud.
Part 4. Bonus Tip: How to Preview Purgeable Storage In Your Sierra?
You may use Sierra or High Sierra on your Mac, and there must be some Mac purgeable storages.
Best budget apps. You have the ability to check out the amount of space in your Sierra can purge in a variety of places:
The first method you can do is to check your native storage tab. You can access this tab by going to the Apple Menu and selecting About This Mac. Then, you go to the tab named Storage.
You can also view it on your Finder’s Status Bar. To display your Status Bar, you should click View and then press Show Status Bar.
The third option is to go to the top menu and click Go. Then, select Computer. Next, right-click on the hard drive. Then, go to getting Info.
The fourth option would be to click View. Then, go to the Options panel. This will activate the Desktop display of hard disks.
The final option would be to ask Siri about how much space you have left on your device.
Part 5. In Conclusion
Purgeable space on Mac is one way your device works smarter instead of harder. Instead of putting a bigger disk space on your Mac, you are given an optimization feature. Purgeable files are files that can be removed without causing issues to your device. It is automatically deleted on your device if Optimized Storage is turned on.
However, if you find your Mac is running slowly and want to delete more unnecessary files on your system, you can use a tool like iMyMac PowerMyMac. For example, it can help you find all your images stored on your Mac and remove the duplicates. It helps you scan your device for unneeded files and delete them completely without causing harm to your device.

How to Recover Deleted Files in Windows
Tossed an important file into the trash and need to get it back? If you’ve been backing up your data, you’ll have no problem recovering deleted files on your PC. If not, you can still try a few other techniques to restore deleted files on your PC. Let’s get into the art of Windows file recovery.
1. Check the Recycle Bin
Your first stop is also the easiest. When you delete files, they’re not actually lost permanently. Instead, they’re transferred to your computer’s Recycle Bin, where they sit until you decide to empty it. Until then, they’re only “temporarily deleted.” Here’s how to recover deleted files from your Recycle Bin in Windows 10:
On your desktop, open the Recycle Bin by double-clicking it, or by right-clicking it and selecting Open.
Find the file you want to recover, then right-click it and select Restore. This will return the file to its original location on your computer.
If you’re not sure where it was originally stored, right-click it and select Properties, and you’ll see the file’s original storage location listed as the Origin. After you restore it, it’ll go back there.
After restoring this file, we can see that it’s back on the Desktop, where it used to be.
Computers can often slow down over time as they accumulate heaps of junk files, bloatware, and other useless data, and deleting these can help bring an older PC back to speed. But if you’ve trashed something that you actually want, have a quick peek in the Recycle Bin, and you might just get lucky.
After you empty your Recycle Bin, these files become “permanently deleted.” But it’s not as finite as it sounds — there are multiple methods for how to recover permanently deleted files from the Recycle Bin. Read on to learn more about what you can try next.
2. Check other folders
Sometimes, the thing you want isn’t where you think you left it last. This is as true for digital files as it is for your keys, glasses, or TV remote. You might have either saved or moved your files to a different folder than you thought.
To search your system for a file, click the Windows icon in the lower-left, then begin typing the file’s name. If you can’t remember the name of the file, try typing any relevant keywords you can think of. Any results will appear in the window you see.
3. Use Windows System Restore
Windows includes an automatic backup feature known as System Restore. When activated, it’ll allow you to revert your computer to a previous state known as a “restore point.” Windows creates restore points from time to time, allowing you to reset your computer to one of these configurations should something go wrong, and you can also create your own.
Usually, people use System Restore to fix software issues, but will System Restore recover deleted files? Well, it depends. If you’ve deleted an important Windows system file or program, System Restore will help. But it can’t recover personal files such as documents, emails, or photos.
Here’s how to use System Restore to recover deleted files:
» Using System Restore in Windows 10, 8.1 or 8
For this example, we’ll show you how to recover deleted files in Windows 10. If you’re using Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, you’ll follow a similar procedure.
Open the Control Panel by clicking the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your screen. Scroll down and select Windows System, and then click Control Panel from the drop-down menu. You can also simply type “Control Panel” after opening the Windows menu.
In the Control Panel, click System and Security.
In the System and Security menu, click System.
Click System Protection on the left-side menu.
In the System Protection menu, click System Restore.
If the button is unclickable, it means that System Restore is currently deactivated, and you won’t be able to use it to recover any deleted system files. If you’d like to use it in the future, here’s how to turn it on:
Click Configure.
Select Turn on system protection, then click OK.
After clicking System Restore, hit Next.
Choose a restore point that will (or should) contain the data you want to recover. Then, click Next.
Click Finish, and your computer will go back to that restore point.
» Using System Restore in Windows 7 or Vista
Here’s how to recover deleted files in Windows 7 via System Restore. It’s pretty similar to what you’d do on Windows 10, and you can also apply these steps to Windows Vista. Again, System Restore will not recover personal files — it will undelete files that are directly relevant to the Windows system.
Click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your screen to open the Start menu. Then, click Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, select System and Security.
Click System.
Click System Protection in the left-side menu.
Click System Restore.
If the button is greyed-out and unclickable, you’ll need to first activate System Restore for your drive. Here’s how:
Click Configure.
Choose whether you’d like to restore your system settings and files, or just your system files. After making your selection, click Apply, then OK.
After clicking System Restore, hit Next to begin the process.
Choose a restore point that was created before your data was deleted, then click Next.
Click Finish to confirm that you’d like to return your system to the selected restore point. Your computer will restart, so make sure to save anything you’re working on first.
4. Restore from a backup
If you’ve been regularly backing up your files, you’re in luck — you’ll already have perfectly good copies of your files ready to go. Making backups of your valuable files is your best defence against accidental file deletions. Backups are also a great asset in the fight against ransomware, which can encrypt your files and hold them hostage unless you pay a ransom fee. If you have recent backups, you can ignore the ransom demands, delete the ransomware, and simply restore from your backups.
Even if you haven’t been performing manual file backups, your computer might have been doing this automatically for you. For example, Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud service offers automatic backups. It’s possible that you might have backup copies waiting for you in your OneDrive account, or in any other similar services that you’ve used.
You can easily create a backup of your entire computer right within Windows by creating a system image. It’s a snapshot of your PC and everything on it from that moment in time, letting you revert to this state should something go wrong in the future. If you’re planning on removing unwanted apps and other junk files, back your system up first in case you make a mistake.
5. Use data recovery software
Even if you don’t have any backup copies of your deleted files lying around, you can still try digging them out of your hard drive with specialized data recovery software. These tools can resurrect permanently deleted files from a drive, even after you’ve emptied your recycle bin.
One popular option is Recuva by CCleaner. It’s a flexible and powerful tool that can help you recover files after a computer crash, or if one of your drives becomes damaged or reformatted. It also works as flash recovery software, meaning it can pull files from rewritable storage such as USB drives and external hard drives.
In order to reduce the risk of your computer overwriting the deleted files on your drive with new data, you may want to stop using the drive until you’ve had a chance to try and recover your data.
6. Hire a professional
If none of the above techniques has successfully recovered your files, it might be time to hand things over to the pros. Have a look in your area for a reputable data recovery specialist or service, and consider letting them take over from here. If your drive somehow gets damaged or destroyed, you can hire someone to salvage your data before you dispose of your device.
In the USA, you can expect to pay upwards of $100 per hour for a qualified data recovery specialist and lab. They’ll have all the equipment, software, and most importantly, the training that they need in order to bring your valuable files back to life. Find a provider who will offer you a complimentary consultation so that you know the potential costs before you agree to pay.
You may run into companies that charge on a per-gigabyte basis — if so, look elsewhere. This type of pricing can quickly spiral out of control. Instead, find a provider who charges hourly, just as you would when hiring a lawyer or auto mechanic.
Restore from AVG Quarantine
Many antivirus tools, such as AVG AntiVirus FREE, place suspicious files in quarantine while they’re evaluated for malware. Files in the quarantine can’t execute, nor can they access other parts of your system or data. AVG’s antivirus quarantines files automatically when running an antivirus scan, or when its protective tools detect the potential presence of malware.
Have a peek in your antivirus tool’s quarantine section. It may be the case that your antivirus removed a non-malware file, so you can recover it from the quarantine if you’re sure that it’s safe.
Keep your PC clean without deleting files
It’s easier than you think to delete important files while cleaning out your PC. Instead, keep your computer running lean and fast with AVG TuneUp. It’ll scan your entire device for junk files and bloatware, letting you remove them safely without putting your valuable data at risk. Speed up your PC, reclaim your storage space, and optimize your computer for top performance — while leaving your important files and folders right where they belong.

Let’s clear up this hooey with “orlandomakeup” right here, right now.
* * * TW: Mentions of violence, attempted murder, rape culture, abuse, a suicide attempt, alcohol (spiked drink) and severe bullying. * * *
This post was typed with a calm mind. It’s not an angry retaliation. I want to set the facts straight on this issue. I have no desire for anyone to send hate to orlandomakeup or boycott them-- I only encourage a boycott of anything that supports Autism Speaks.
This person is not keen on keeping facts straight. They’re projecting their own behavior onto me. I’m merely laying out the facts and letting the rest of the chips fall where they may.
(Note: I made some minor edits and corrections because I was interrupted several times while trying to type this and it posted to my blog instead of drafts for some reason. It should all be correct now as of 1:35pm PST on August 5, 2017.)
First off, it sounds like orlandomakeup is a caregiver and not autistic themselves. The artist is not the problem, it’s the person promoting their art. I think the artist is unaware that Autism Speaks is harmful, but orlandomakeup seems to conveniently leave off any means of contacting the artist who painted the artwork.
Anyway, here’s the facts of what happened.
My reblog of the post in question. Orlandomakeup deleted the original, so you won’t find it on their page unless they reposted it from scratch. http://butterflyinthewell.tumblr.com/post/163797108223/orlandomakeup-buy-a-painting-and-support-autism
They responded via the post comment system. It’s on the post, but I’ll put the text of it here, too: (images of the art left off to prevent the screenshot from getting huge, you can see them if you click the link I shared above.)
Their text on the post:
“Buy a painting and support autism. 10% of sale will be donated to Autism Speaks. Painting created through the eyes of autism.
White snowflake on cobalt blue background. Acrylic paint. Small amount of blue glitter for added sparkle. Feeling of calm, winter, peace, tranquility, contentment. 16"x20" canvas.
#autism #autistic #abstractart #artforautism #aspergerssyndrome #autismspectrumdisorders #highfunctiningautism #autismspeaks #autisticartist #autismawareness #autismsupport #photooftheday #potd #abstractart #aspergers #lifewithautism #artforaspergers
(Ebay link left off to avoid it getting clicks.)”
My reblog text:
“Don’t buy this art. The money goes to a charity that harms autistic people. I wish the OP would support ASAN instead at autisticadvocacy.org because that charity really helps autistic people without trying to silence or erase us.”
And their comment
“The artist is autistic, and Autism Speaks has never harmed her. You speak of bullying yet you bully. The artist has been bullied everyday of her life due to autism. She has even been held by gun and knife, shot and stabbed at, and beaten until left nearly for dead. Your hate exemplifies why people are bullies towards those of us with autism.”
They’re calling me a bully because I reblogged the linked post above and told people not to buy “this art” because it’s supporting Autism Speaks and said I wished the artist would support ASAN instead. ASAN (Autistic Self-Advocacy Network) is a charity run by autistic people that actually helps autistic people and not parents / caregivers / anybody except the actually autistic people.
They equated my behavior to being bullied-- to being shot, stabbed, beaten, etc. Just...what? I was bullied in nearly the same way for being autistic, same as the artist. I was never shot at (thank God), but for all 4 years of high school I was threatened with rape and murder, survived a murder attempt, narrowly escaped a rape situation by refusing a drink spiked with vodka that would’ve intoxicated me to a blackout, I endured public humiliation on an almost daily basis and attempted suicide once because none of the authority figures who were supposed to protect me did shit to stop the bullying...
...and orlandomakeup is equating my saying “don’t buy this art because it supports Autism Speaks” to THAT?
Wow, talk about trivializing bullying. Just wow.
At no point do I say “ewww, don’t by this artist’s art ever!” or “eew, this art is ugly!” or “the artist sucks!”
All I did was point out that buying that art will support Autism Speaks, a charity that harms autistic people.
Orlandomakeup is defending Autism Speaks on the grounds that “it never hurt them (the autistic artist)”.
Again, I need to remind people that defending a person or organization as “good” because “it / they didn’t hurt me / this person!” is like saying someone who abuses their spouse is a good person because they distribute food at a homeless shelter. That person may help the poor, but they still go home and beat the shit out of their spouse and they are NOT a good person.
Likewise, Autism Speaks is not a good organization. Just because (general) you saw it do good doesn’t mean it is good. It still stigmatizes and demonizes autism and their claim of “acceptance” is “accept that your child has an autism diagnosis, but don’t accept their autism.” Autism Speaks changed “cure” to “solution”. All they did was change a word, not their rhetoric. Autism Speaks is harmful to autistic people the same way PETA is harmful to animals. They care about profit, not lives.
So, I still ask-- where is the bullying behavior this orlandomakeup person claims I’m engaging in? Nowhere. Orlandomakeup, reblogged stuff about bullying and made one long callout post that doesn’t directly name me even though it’s very obviously about me. Keep in mind they did this after they blocked me, and I only found out because someone who follows me saw their post. I figured it would look at it out of curiosity. I plan to let this whole thing go after this point, but I want to clear the facts up before they get all muddled and twisted their through distorted view.
Here is a link to their callout post. http://chicglamgeek.com/post/163823401339/fifty-shades-of-bullies (DO NOT SEND HATE!!!)
ETA: Forgot a link due to constant interruptions while writing this post. Here’s their “bully” tag where they again attack me without naming me. http://chicglamgeek.com/search/bullying I didn’t bother screencapping. If they delete stuff, it just proves they’re trying to hide that they’re projecting their behavior onto me.
I also have a screenshot of their big post. Linked due to size. http://imgur.com/a/Dr4zG
The text of the post is in the description area below the image so that those who are blind or have trouble processing screenshots can read the post, too. I’ll add the text under the cut of this post just in case imgur farts.
They claim I’m showing “disdain” of the art when that’s not even close to what I was doing, but orlandomakeup won’t see any other POV except their own. I fully endorse buying the autistic artist’s art (because it’s beautiful art!), just don’t buy the art that supports Autism Speaks.
If someone knows how to contact the autistic artist to tell them about A$, please do.
There. Those are the facts of the situation. I’m now washing my hands of it. Orlandomakeup can continue calling me a bully if they want. I wanted my side of the issue out there in case they continue trying to convince people that I bullied them.
I did not bully orlandomakeup or the autistic artist. I am not saying orlandomakeup is a bad person.
Unfortunately, orlandomakeup is misrepresenting everything I said and is projecting their own behavior onto me. They could have blocked me and carried on, but they chose to write that long and obvious post and may be talking trash about me in private. (I have no way to know, nor do I care. I know who I am and what I represent.)
Again, I say this is not posted in anger. I posted my side to ensure the facts are straight. From here on out orlandomakeup can say whatever they want about me, but I know I’m telling the truth to the best of my ability.
Please do not harass them or send hate. That solves nothing.
If you feel an urge to send them something mean, do yourself a favor and close the tab instead, okay?
Text below. Bolding is their references to me. Btw, I’m amused that they think I’m a Millennial. I’m not a Millennial. I was born in 1980. I just turned 37 (as of July 29, 2017).
There are two basic types of bullies.
1. Those who have full understanding of their actions and seek power and control.
2. Those who lack the intellectual capacity to understand their behavior.
The latter is the most dangerous, because there is no reasoning with them. They disparage and harass with the belief that they are doing no wrong. All bullies are shallow, insecure, and need numbers. They have no strength of their own. They are weak.
Millennials are exceedingly becoming the bullies about which they speak. They bully as a platform for drama and attention. They lack the intelligence to acknowledge their faults and how to conduct themselves. They lack professionalism and decency. Millennials suffer from narcissism. They think their lives and stories are more compelling, because they want attention. However, there are bullies well into their late ages that also have these characteristics.
These bullies can be found at any age and are not confined to school. They are coworkers, neighbors, strangers, and, more dangerously, online. Bullies intend to harass even if the are not intelligent to know they are bullying. At any age, they have the ability to know they should not perpetuate negativity, but some still claim they do not understand how their actions are harmful. While this may seem contrary, consider that when you address their behavior with them, they insist they are “not bad” people, ask their friends to insist they are nice, even say they are Christian. Your addressing their behavior puts them on notice that they are harmful. At this point, they become aware that they are engaging in this behavior but are defensive to avoid admitting they are wrong. Introverts and intelligent people admit when they are wrong, because they are more concerned with data and facts than feelings. They have no incentive to lie. They do not rely upon external validation. Extroverts do. This is not to say that all extroverts lack intellectual capacity, only that they are more motivated to be bullies.
Here are some examples of bullying that were unprovoked and occurred in situations where the person being harassed did not know the bully and/or was not interacting with the bully:
1. I like how you match your lipstick to your sweater. On second thought, I don’t. It’s ugly. You’re a bitch.
2. You need to pray to be normal.
3. Jesus can make you not be Asian.
4. We don’t want, you know, the black people in our neighborhood.
5. You’re not celibate. Look at you. You look like a model.
6. Don’t buy this art.
7. You need to smile.
Why are these words harmful? One of the “rules” of Christianity is to do unto others as you would have done unto you. If you cannot say something nice, do not say it at all. These examples ignore cultural and biological differences. They are punitive.
1. Introverts do not need compliments. In fact, they sometimes find compliments offensive. This “compliment” was a way to seek attention. The person did not receive attention, so he had intent to harm to assuage his feelings of insecurity.
2, 3, & 7. While there is a normal distribution, statistically speaking, people are not normal. There are cultural and physiological differences, which may seem “odd,” but those differences do not warrant being forced beliefs of the insecure. If you do not smile, shake hands, laugh at jokes, or make eye contact, you are not abnormal. You handle / process emotion differently.
3 & 4. Racist and ethnocentrist.
5. There is no look of celibacy. If one prefers to preserve his/her temple, then others should not assume their inability to keep their legs shut afflicts everyone.
6. Demanding that others boycott art defames the artist, nothing else. That statement alone shows disdain for the artist and/or the art. If one feels financial contribution to the artist is repulsive, or one feels the contribution would benefit one to the detriment of others (i.e. Boycotting people who shop at Hobby Lobby* as opposed to boycotting Hobby Lobby itself), then one should make the distinction. There is a difference between harassment and social awareness. Using the Hobby Lobby example, a person who shops at Hobby Lobby may not be aware of the practices of the establishment. Demanding people avoid the individual is harmful, seeks to exclude, and seeks to harass the individual rather than the establishment. Demanding the person avoid Hobby Lobby is completely different. A mature minded, intelligent person knows the difference. A bully who lacks intellectual capacity does not make the distinction.
The best way to handle someone who disparages you and claims they did nothing wrong is to ignore him/her. S/he will have friends to join in the disparage fest, because s/he is insecure and has to belittle everyone and everything that is secure. S/he needs power and control to compensate for the lack of power and control s/he feels with his/her life. S/he is unreasonable, immature, unprofessional, and lacks mental capabilities to examine his/her actions. This type of person always has to be right and will never understand his/her shortcomings. Additionally, these people are not intelligent enough to understand that constant communications from them and/or others on their behalves are harassment. It is no different than painting the n- word or the word “slut” on someone’s locker or home. It is no different than walking by someone bound, throwing rocks at them.
The best last word is the one left unsaid. This does not make one weak. It makes one mature and intelligent enough to understand the other person is deficient. In other words, thou shall not give pearl to the swine. Do not waste your energy on people who are unwilling to accept and admit their faults, those who are incapable of higher thought processing.
* This in no way suggests anyone boycott Hobby Lobby. People have their own reasons for shopping or not shopping there.

What are we willing to cancel people over, anyway?
Beautube continues to be the messy hellscape that it is, but the feud that went down between two major YouTubers just goes to show that nobody is above drama. Still, James Charles has a history of problematic behavior — why did it take until now for the community to cancel him?
YouTube's beauty community was shaken on Friday when Tati Westbrook dropped a 43-minute video exposing her longtime friend and mentee James Charles. Among other reprehensible behavior, Tati also denounced his habit of allegedly sexually harassing straight men.
The takedown followed weeks of rumors, screenshots, and snarky reaction videos from other vloggers, so it wasn't new, but it was the catalyst that has other influencers distancing themselves from the teenage makeup guru.
If you're unfamiliar with the wild world of beauty YouTube, here's a rundown of all the people involved.
James Charles is a 19-year-old beauty maven who went viral in 2016 for not only wearing makeup in his senior photos, but also being extra enough to bring a ring light to emphasize his highlighter. Later that year, he became the first male spokesperson for CoverGirl. Since then, he's amassed an immense social media following — at its peak, he had 15 million subscribers on YouTube.
Charles' nearly overnight fame reached a climax usually reserved for traditional celebrities, not influencers, when he was invited to the Met Gala earlier in May. He raised eyebrows when he called the invitation "a step forward in the right direction for influencer representation in the media" in an Instagram post.
But after his rapid ascent to stardom, Charles is now crashing back down. He's been cancelled.
So I retook my senior photos & brought my ring light with me so my highlight would be poppin. I love being extra 💀 pic.twitter.com/7Qu1yu8U2P

Tati Westbrook is a 37-year-old makeup YouTuber who also owns Halo Beauty, a supplement company that sells gummy vitamins for strengthening hair and nails. Her direct competitor is Sugar Bear Hair, a similar company whose products have been endorsed by a variety of influencers, including the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Tati has been "like a mother" to James, according to James himself. She took the budding star under her wing when his career was just kicking off — and he even did her wedding makeup.
Keeping up? Good, because this is where it gets messy.
On April 22, James posted an endorsement for Sugar Bear Hair on his Instagram story after the company supposedly helped him with a security issue during Coachella. Without naming names, Tati said she felt "lost" and "betrayed" on her Instagram story.
"When you do so much for people in your life and they not only don't return the favor, but they just don't even see you," Tati said in her tearful video. "I feel really used."
James publicly apologized in similarly teary Instagram story the next day, and told his followers that he "did not think about the competition."
"She has been like a mother to me since my first days in this industry," he said in his public apology, adding that he didn't accept any money for the post and that he uses Tati's vitamin brand daily. "And has given me more love, support, resources, and advice than I could ever ask for."
Fellow makeup YouTuber Gabriel Zamora — who you might remember from the YouTube apology fiasco in summer 2018 known as Dramageddon — weighed in on the situation. In a video posted on May 4, he chided Tati for her immature reaction.
"All these videos are being made where James is being made out to be this horrible human being and I'm just confused as to what happened," Gabriel said.
In response, Tati posted a video on Friday titled "BYE SISTER," a play on James' signature vlog intro, "Hi sisters!" The lengthy video dives into why Tati felt unappreciated by James, from his hesitation to promote her brand to his reluctance to collaborate with her. She publicly severed ties with him, concluding that it was "painful to lose someone you care about, that you thought would be in your life forever, but the chapter's closed."
youtube
Since dropping the video, Tati has been rapidly gaining followers as James loses them. Twitter users and other influencers paid attention.
drama aside, i have something to say.... ❤️https://t.co/Hn20TgNSzM❤️ pic.twitter.com/vRPFCTJIEJ

As of Monday morning, James has lost more than 2.5 million subscribers in three days, according to SocialBlade. Tati, meanwhile, gained more than 2.9 million since posting the video. To put that into perspective, as vlogger Callum Markie noted, Logan Paul gained 80,000 subscribers after filming a victim of suicide in Japan.
But the backlash isn't just over snubbing a friend — it's over a much more concerning issue. Although the majority of the video was about her personal relationship with James, it also shed light on his toxic habit of allegedly sexually harassing straight men.
"Oh my god, you tried to trick a straight man into thinking he's gay yet again," Tati ranted in her video, recalling a phone conversation she recently had with James. "And somehow, you're the victim."
She continued:
Tati was alluding to just one of many instances where James toyed with straight men. The receipts channel Spill laid out several examples, including his questionable relationship with model Gage Gomez. In April, Gomez posted a video calling James out for continuing to pursue him despite repeatedly turning him down.
"[He] pushed his emotions onto me to guilt me into trying something that I didn't want to do," the model said.
youtube
James has also publicly hit on Shawn Mendes, leaving suggestive comments on the singer's Instagram live videos and tweets.
He later apologized in a tweet, and said he was "sorry if he [Shawn] felt sexually harassed."
After Tati's video, others came forward. Someone who claimed to be a former classmate tweeted that James allegedly sexually assaulted her friend. Singer Zara Larsson also tweeted that James repeatedly hit on her boyfriend, despite knowing that he's straight. And in a supercut of James' vlogs, a Twitter user showed the numerous times the beauty guru admitted he enjoyed pursuing heterosexual men because "it's easier than you think."
It's about time James Charles stopped getting a pass for his repeatedly toxic behavior. But why did it take a video from Tati for the internet to finally cancel him? Twitter user @Quantum_King_ questioned why Tati protected James for years, despite public knowledge that he harassed men both in person and on social media.
Did Tati Westbrook expose a predator or did she harbour a predator until she felt under appreciated by him?
— Brokeryn Martell 🇱🇨🇯🇲 (@Quantum_King_) May 11, 2019
If James Charles would’ve promoted tati’s vitamins, do y’all think she still would’ve made that video exposing him for being trash? Let’s discuss
— femme fatale (@eliesaaab) May 12, 2019
And others pointed out how hypocritical it was for Jeffree Star, another member of the YouTube beauty community, to speak out against James despite his own problematic past. (Star has since deleted his tweet, but there is a screenshot included above.)
seeing my mutuals dragging james charles while simultaneously supporting jeffree star and it’s interesting pic.twitter.com/TJHlxo2tkv
— 𝖙 𝖉𝖆𝖜𝖌 (@tamiamakay) May 12, 2019
Is James Charles being canceled because of his actions, or because the internet loves drama? It's been nearly a year since Dramageddon tore Beautube apart, exposing multiple YouTubers for their racist tweets.
Somehow, James' own racist remarks weren't pulled into the whirlwind of cancellation. When he made a transphobic comment earlier in 2019 about how he wasn't "full gay" because he had been attracted to trans men, he received some backlash but got away relatively unscathed. Why is it Tati's video that's tanking his career?
Maybe it's because the internet is willing to give a pass to its faves, until it's time to grab some popcorn and watch a feud go down. It's good that the internet is finally done with James — the face of the beauty community absolutely should not be a predator. But nobody paid attention or sought to hold him accountable until there was a friendship break up involved.
The influencers at the center of Dramageddon have more or less recovered from 2018's Beautube culling. Gabriel Zamora continues to make videos. Nikita Dragun was just profiled in Forbes. Manny MUA is still releasing products from his makeup line, Lunar Beauty. Even Laura Lee, whose iconically terrible apology video fueled Twitter memes for weeks, seems fine according to Instagram.
Will James Charles' cancellation last, or will the internet accept him into the fold again like it did with Jeffree Star? Despite his many controversies, Star is a multimillionaire thriving on top of a massive beauty empire.
youtube
"A lot of most of my career over the last two years has been about me making mistakes and trying to learn and grow from them," James stated in his apology video posted Friday. "And I haven't always done the best job of that. I can admit that, but I have always tried ... I wish I could say this is the last time that I make a mistake, but it won't be."
And as his beauty vlogger predecessors have proven, he's at least right about that. Will he stay canceled? Hopefully. Will more makeup-centered drama go down in the near future and take down more racist, transphobic predators? God, we hope so.

How to Create a Job Application Form in WordPress (Easily)
Do you want to add a job application form to the careers page on your WordPress website?
Often small businesses do not have a system in place for receiving job applications. This can quickly lead to a huge number of resumes in your email inbox, without an easy way to sort through them.
The good news is that you can easily solve this. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a job application form in WordPress that makes it easy for people to apply online while also making it easy for you to manage applications in one place.
Creating Your Job Application Form in WordPress
If you run a small business website, then adding a ‘Careers’ or ‘Jobs’ page on your website allows you to attract talented people to join your team.
To attract the best people, you also need to make it easier for interested candidates to apply for a job by adding a job application form on that page.
Let’s take a look at how WordPress makes it easy to add a job application form.
First, you need to install and activate the WPForms plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.
WPForms is the best WordPress forms plugin on the market. It’s designed to be very beginner-friendly and it lets you create lots of different forms for your small business.
After activating the plugin, you need to visit the WPForms » Settings page in your WordPress dashboard to enter your license key. You can find your license under your account on the WPForms website.
Next, visit the WPForms » Addons page to install the Form Templates Pack Addon. This pack includes the job application form template.
Tip: The Form Templates Pack is only available if you have the Pro plan for WPForms or higher. However, you can still create a job application form by using the Simple Contact Form template in the free version of the plugin.
Now, it’s time to create your form. To start, you need to visit WPForms » Add New in your WordPress admin area.
On this page, you will then be prompted to name your form and choose a template. After that, scroll down to the Job Application Upload Form template or search for it using the search bar.
Once you’ve clicked on your chosen template, you will be taken to the WPForms form builder.
You will see the default job application upload form template here. You can use it just as it is, or edit it using the drag & drop interface.
If you’re happy with the form as is, then simply save it and click the X button to leave the WPForms builder.
Next, you need to put the form on your website. You can embed it in a post or page, or you could even add it to your sidebar. We’re going to create a new page by going to Pages » Add New in the WordPress dashboard.
On the page edit screen, simply click on the (+) to add a new block and then look for WPForms block. You can find it in the ‘Widgets’ section of blocks or you can use the search bar.
Once you’ve added that block, click and select your job application form from the dropdown list.
WPForms will load a preview of your form in the content editor. You can now go ahead and save or publish your page.
After that, don’t forget to visit your website to see the live form in action. On our page, we have a title, a short description, an image, and then the job application form:
Note: If you’re using the old classic WordPress editor, then you can click the ‘Add Form’ button to add a form to your page:
Editing Your Job Application Form
You can edit your job application form at any time to add more fields, notifications, and descriptions.
To do this, simply go to the WPForms » All Forms page and click on the title of your form to open it up for editing:
You can change the existing fields (parts of the form), move them up or down, delete fields, and add new ones.
First, we’re going to edit the ‘How did you find out about this position?’ question on our job application form. To edit a field, click on it. You will see the options for the field open up in the left-hand editing pane.
We’re going to delete the ‘Newspaper Ad’ and ‘Radio/TV Ad’ options. Simply click the (-) button next to the option to remove it.
Next, we’re going to remove the ‘If other’ field immediately below this. To delete a field, simply bring your mouse cursor over the field and then click the red trash can icon that appears:
We’re also going to add a field just before the resume upload. This is where our prospective content writers can share links to their previously published work.
First, click the ‘Add Fields’ tab on the left-hand side if it’s not already selected. Then, simply drag and drop your chosen field into place on the form. We’re going to use the Paragraph Text field.
Once the field is in place on the form, just click on it to change its label and provide a description.
You can make as many changes and additions as you want to the form. Make sure you click the ‘Save’ button after doing so.
Editing Notifications and Confirmation Messages for Your Job Application Form
By default, all job applications will be sent to the administrator email of your WordPress site. However, in some cases the person responsible for managing these job applications may not be an administrator on your website.
This is why WPForms makes it easy to send form submissions via email to anyone without giving them access to WordPress admin area. You can also view all applications right inside WordPress (more on this later).
To edit the notification settings, simply edit your job application form and then switch to the Settings » Notifications tab.
In the ‘Send To Email Address’ box, type in the email addresses that you want forms to be sent to.
You can also change other aspects of the notification, such as the email subject line.
If you want to send the applicant an email to let them know that their application has been received, that’s possible, too. Simply follow our instructions on creating a form with multiple recipients.
You may also want to change the default confirmation message that the applicant sees after submitting the form. You can edit this under Settings » Confirmations tab. Simply type the message you want into the box:
Viewing Submitted Applications inside WordPress
Each job application will come to the admin email address of your WordPress site or the addresses you entered under the notifications tab.
The email will include all the details submitted, plus a link to download the resume or any other files uploaded:
Tip: Make sure you test email notifications by submitting your forms. If you don’t receive notifications, then see our guide on how to fix WordPress not sending email issue.
WPForms also saves all applications within WordPress itself. This makes it easy for other team members to review and even comment on applications.
To see the submitted job applications, go to WPForms » Entries in your WordPress dashboard. Scroll down to below the graph and click on the name of your form.
Now, simply click the ‘View’ link next to any application to see the details of it.
You will then be able to see the application form. You can download the candidate’s resume here. You can use the Star feature in WPForms to highlight your favorite candidates.
It’s also easy to add a note by clicking the ‘Add Note’ button. This is a very useful feature if several people will be viewing and commenting on applications:
That’s it. You have successfully created a job application form on your WordPress site that lets you easily gather and sort through applications.
We hope this tutorial helped you learn how to create a job application form in WordPress. 4 Ways Brands Can Be More Authentic On Social Media
As the internet continues to get stuffed full of content, brands need to work harder than ever to break through the clutter and connect with people online. You know how to get your message into news feeds through methods like targeting, paid campaigns, boosted posts, or working with influencers. But once you get in front of people, is your message actually having an impact, and creating connections with your audience like you hope?
Influencers and brands alike are getting caught trying too hard online. Influencers are crying in posts and then getting called out for “like-fishing. Celebrities are posting that they’ve never had cereal before. Brands are posting overly photoshopped bodies…
Your followers can spot inauthenticity from a mile away.
We connect most with content that is real, and people are catching on to content that isn’t authentic.
Bonus: Get the step-by-step social media strategy guide with pro tips on how to grow your social media presence.
Now, authentic is a word that the kids are throwing around a lot these days. But it’s not just a trendy phrase to use at your next networking event. By definition, authenticity is being real, or genuine. This is definitely what you should be trying for on social.
Even though everyone plays the whole keeping-up-appearances game on social media, authenticity comes naturally to a lot of people on their personal profiles—even if they aren’t being entirely authentic.
That authenticity comes because they’re sharing content that is real life, and even though we curate our feeds, contrive our captions, and share only our best moments, we’re still sharing our real lives.
Brands have an entirely different challenge keeping it real online because they’re not people. They can’t just post a 37-part instagram story of a concert and bam—make you feel like you’re a part of their life.
So, how should brands keep things authentic on social and connect with their audience in real, long-lasting ways? Here are a few tips.
1. Be honest and transparent
This should go without saying, but let’s be honest… (See what I did there? Sorry, I’ll let myself out.) We’ve all come across some pretty phony stuff online. Fake news, photoshopped images, stories that just seem too good to be true…
Fluffed up content is everywhere. People catch on to online trash like this pretty quickly. And although a skim through your own news feed may lead you to believe otherwise, people are smarter than ever. We can all easily spot a brand being fake, and it’s not a good look.
As brands, we need to stay as far away from dishonest content as possible, but this isn’t any sort of groundbreaking advice. So take the honesty and transparency a step further. Get honest and real about your product or service whenever you can. Go behind the scenes and humanize your brand with your social media content.
If you sell a product, share stories about how you make it. Tell people where the materials come from, how you manufacture, or how you design the things you want them to buy.
If you’re a service, share the work that goes into creating your customer experience.
If you’re an influencer, post an unedited photo from your actual phone once in a while.
If you’re looking for a quick lesson in what not to do, look no further than our favorite unfamous famous person, Kylie Jenner. In September 2018, she tweeted that she “had cereal with milk for the first time” and that it was “life changing.”
Come on Kylie… you live in the United States of America where cereal is literally a food group.
This kind of pandering for online attention is incredibly contrived, and can damage your reputation, even as a celebrity. Case in point: mere minutes later Kylie was called out on several blogs and in tweets for posting an instagram of cereal with “probably milk” in 2015. And although it may be entirely possible that it was yogurt (we’re not food identification experts, but we’re also not idiots) it’s just so unlikely she’d never had cereal with milk before the tweet in question.
last night i had cereal with milk for the first time. life changing.
— Kylie Jenner (@KylieJenner) September 19, 2018
2. Skip the calls to action for a second
Fundamentally, the entire point of marketing is to create an opportunity for sales, and your social media marketing strategy shouldn’t be any different. But it’s really easy to get caught up trying to turn every online interaction into a quick sale or a conversion by tossing a “Buy Now” call to action on everything.
When it comes to conversions or sales, try playing the long game with social media every once in a while. Strike a balance between posts that are meant to convert or sell quickly, and posts that are meant to simply connect with your audience.
Creating positive brand moments using interesting content creates connection, and makes people feel like they’re part of your brand. And if people feel like they’re part of your brand, where’s the first place they’re going to go when they need whatever you have on offer?
If you’re doing things right, the answer should be “you.”
3. If you mess up, own it
We’ve all been there. An accidental typo, a reply that wasn’t well-articulated, or a post that just goes over like a lead balloon.
Social media blunders are typically pretty innocuous, but mistakes that can damage a brand’s reputation faster than you can say Cambridge Analytica are entirely possible.
It can happen to anyone, and when it does, your first reaction might be to delete the offending content, and forget about the entire thing. But here’s a little not-so-secret secret: you really can’t delete anything on the internet.
The second you post it, it’s permanently burned into the metaphorical eyes of the web. So, in the unfortunate event that you do have a bit of a fumble, own it. And figure out the best way to fix it.
If your social media flub is serious enough, jump into PR mode and do a little crisis management. Even in pretty serious situations, owning up to the mistake and sincerely apologizing for it can help repair some of damage that’s already done.
Do what you can to fix the issue, and make sure your audience knows what you’ll do in the future to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Also, when you get late-night anxiety about the whole situation, keep in mind that social media content moves at a rapid pace. It’s only a matter of time before someone else does something stupid and the world moves on to that.
In less serious situations like a typo or a factual error, simply own it by correcting it. If you can turn the situation around, or even turn it into a joke, give that a go too—especially if it suits your brand personality.
Bonus: Get the step-by-step social media strategy guide with pro tips on how to grow your social media presence.
Get the free guide right now!
People love jokes, and a some self-deprecating humor is fun once in a while.
Pretending like things never happened, especially when the blunder is quite serious, can cause a pile of problems later. Owning up to mistakes makes it clear that there are real people behind the curtain, and it humanizes your brand.
4. Clickbaity headlines are a thing of the past, but what happens next will thrill you
We get it. The struggle to prove ROI with social is real and if we don’t, we’re just “doing an Instagram” and we all know, that’s not what social marketing is.
So what do we do? We create content that gets engagement.
There’s no sure-fire way to know if a post will get the engagement that you hope for, but there are a definitely few hacks that have trended. Some of them are fun—like posting a timely meme (perhaps of Lilo dancing in Mykonos, you’re welcome for the idea)—and some of them are just obnoxious. Like clickbait.
Because of these mostly-terrible trends, we’ve gone through several bouts of content pollution. When brands try to hijack these flippant online content storms, it quickly becomes tired and your content just comes off as trying too hard. Have you ever seen a brand try to turn a meme into an ad? Case closed.
If your social content is there just to collect views, clicks, or likes, you should rethink your strategy. You’re better off not posting anything, than posting sub-par content just for the sake of gaining clicks.
Take the time to put together a well-planned social media content calendar, and make sure all your posts will resonate with your audience. Remember each and every post should be worthy of being permanently attributed to your brand. Your social content is deeply ingrained in your overall brand, so make sure it’s great.

Hot off the heels of Coachella, trust fund babies and funemployed douchebags made plans to jet to Miami for the first-ever Fyre Festival. From there, the festival—which was slated to take place over two weekends, April 27 to 28 and May 5 through 7—promised to fly these VIPs to the private island of Fyre Cay in the Bahamas for an unparalleled concert-going experience. Tickets ranged from $4,000 to $250,000, which is a small price to pay for the best month of Instagram stories ever. Why not give that traditional Indian headdress you bought for Coachella one last chance to go Internet viral? But as we all know, when man plans, God laughs. And when that man is Ja Rule, and he’s planning a multi-day luxury festival full of amenities he’s incapable of providing, God is like “lmao.” According to an article in the Wall Street Journal earlier this month, festivalgoers who had purchased VIP packages were starting to get nervous, as “the festival’s ‘concierge’ team [had] been slow to provide them with logistical details.” Ja Rule and entrepreneur Billy McFarland, the co-creators of Fyre Festival, were doomed from the moment they decided to hype their event by bringing models to the Bahamas and sharing pictures of their sandy butts on Instagram. Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, and Kendall Jenner were among the many models who arrived via private jet to take promotional photos and videos for the festival (almost all of these “influencers” have since deleted their Fyre Fest posts). Basically, if you ever hooked up with Justin Bieber, you were doing ads for Fyre Festival. Already, the festival was suspicious—the images shared on social media (#FyreFestival!) were pictures of known islands and locations in the Bahamas—not the elusive “Fyre Cay” where the festival was supposedly located. According to tourist website Exuma Online, people who actually live on Exuma had never heard of this Fyre Cay, and while private cays do exist in the area, they are relatively small, and would be incapable of accommodating thousands of party-goers. In other words, Fyre Festival was shipping its high-rolling (and highly gullible) customers off to the Bahamas under false pretenses from the very start. Potential Fyre Festival attendees were fed images of gorgeous models cavorting in the sand, and promised luxury villa accommodations, incredible food, a genre-spanning musical lineup, and even buried treasure. (Seriously, in 2017, are white people still getting scammed by the prospect of buried treasure?) But instead of living out their fantasies of being a Kendall or a Bella, festivalgoers quickly found themselves closer to being a Piggy or a Ralph. A source on the ground who wished to remain anonymous tells The Daily Beast the festival was in shambles from the get-go, explaining that guests arrived to what was supposed to a “tent village” but “the village is not finished. And there is no one in charge.” The source continues, “There was no infrastructure to support the 2000 people that had been expected and people began demanding their money back…There are reports that booze is being looted. I've heard one claim that at least 50 to 60 thousand dollars in booze was given away in order to keep people happy.” Artists scheduled to perform have also begun pulling out of the festival. One group of performing artists, the source says, was “placed in a house for lodging and had to leave as it was allegedly overrun with rats and rat shit.” North Carolina native William Finley told Billboard that his $2,700 “artist pass” was supposed to include an open bar, catered food, and overnight villas. Instead, he found himself lodged in “basically disaster relief tents.” “They're not that uncomfortable,” he allowed, “but the tents are so poorly made that they’d blow over in a second if there was any wind or rain.” A brief perusal of the #FyreFestival hashtag on Twitter includes rumors of violent altercations between festivalgoers and locals, non-existent “luxury accommodations,” packs of feral dogs and mountains of trash. One particularly haunting viral image shows one of the “catered meals” festivalgoers forked over thousands of dollars for: two pieces of bread, two pieces of cheese, and a handful of lettuce. Toto, we’re not in Indio anymore. Anna Van Amber and Trevor Sholders, both from Denver, corroborated the chaos to The Daily Beast. “Fyre Festival, more like liar festival,” Van Amber quipped. “it was completely falsely advertised, we were expecting a cool luxurious experience in the Bahamas, and we didn’t have a bed to sleep in last night.” She added, “The ‘gourmet chef’ is Costco hamburger buns with lettuce on it for vegetarians.” Starr Catering Group, which had originally signed on to cater the festival, told Buzzfeed that their contract had been terminated in early April. Sholders was similarly irritated by the organizers’ lack of communication, explaining, “We were in the dark about information up to the very last minute.” When Sholders and Van Amber arrived, they were led to a local bar, where they were left with their luggage all day, “from about ten in the morning to seven, eight at night.” “From the get-go, you could tell that nobody knew what was going on,” Sholders noted. Next, he says, they were brought to the tents, which were supposed to be reserved, and told to run and grab whatever shelter they could find. Trevor described the confusion of hunting for habitation: “Just trying to find out a way to stay warm and dry.” Sholders and Van Amber left the Bahamas with what Sholders describes as an “eye-opening experience.” “It looked like a refugee camp,” he says. Airlines began to cancel their flights to Exuma “due to overcapacity on the island” before the festival even began. Adding insult to incompetency, would-be headliners Blink-182 issued a statement Thursday, pulling out of the festival and explaining, “We’re not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give fans.” This last-minute Blink-182 blue-balling was yet another blow to the beleaguered festival (the original lineup also included Major Lazer, Migos, and Lil Yachty). The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism issued a statement Friday, saying they are “extremely disappointed in the way the events unfolded yesterday with the Fyre Festival.” They offered “a heartfelt apology to all who traveled to our country for this event,” explaining that “hundreds of visitors to Exuma were met with total disorganization and chaos.” The Ministry also insisted they are not official sponsors of the festival, but had been falsely assured by the organizers about their ability to put on a safe and successful event. “Clearly,” the statement continued, “they did not have the capacity to execute an event of this scale.” The statement concludes with a promise to “assist with the organization of a safe return of all Fyre Festival visitors.” The Fyre Festival’s own website replaced its VIP package offers and colorful insta-ads with a solemn statement Friday morning, announcing that the event has been indefinitely postponed. It reads in part: “Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas. Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests. At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get everyone off of Great Exuma and home safely as quickly as we can.” The Fyre Festival’s Instagram account has also disabled its comments section. While one Fyre Festival-goer tweeted a picture of attendees “signing papers for full refunds,” Anna and Trevor say that when they asked a festival organizer when they might get their money back, he told them to “call your banks and file a fraud report on your charges for the tickets,” adding, “That’s what I would do.” According to Trevor, “I don’t think they have the money to pay us back. There’s no refund.” Of course, given the festival’s numerous failures and the limitations of the local airport, attendees are suspicious that they will be able to get back to Miami any time soon. Van Amber and Sholders are wary of taking a Fyre Festival-organized shuttle to a tiny airport, considering that they and their fellow festivalgoers don’t even have return flights booked. “[The airport] literally holds about 100 people,” Sholders explained. “There’s no facilities there, no water, food, or anything…so if we all managed to get on a bus and get to the airport, we’d have one bathroom, and we’d just be sitting on the tarmac.” Really puts the awfulness that is Coachella into perspective. While Ja Rule was notably absent from his own dumpster Fyre, he issued a frenzied Tweet mid-Friday. “We are working right now on getting everyone of [sic] the island SAFE that is my immediate concern,” he wrote. “I will make a statement soon I’m heartbroken at this moment my partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting I don’t know how everything went so left but I’m working to make it right by making sure everyone is refunded…I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT…but I’m taking responsibility I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this.” Meanwhile, internet sleuths are pointing fingers at Ja Rule’s potentially more culpable festival co-founder, McFarland, whose previous entrepreneurial endeavor—a “black card” for millennials—ended in a familiar call for refunds.

I had a good week catching up on small jobs.
duplicates
I added a 'trash file' button to the duplicate filter hover window, tucked up in a new row with the cog button so they fit on thinner windows. If both potential files are worth deleting, hitting this is an easy way to dismiss them immediately. I also fixed some over-aggressive potential pairs removal from last week's alternates update. Users with many alternates may have lost some valid intra-alternate-group potential pairs, which I expect to add back in once this whole overhaul is complete.
The duplicate action buttons (and several others in the media viewer) are now aware of the shortcuts that can do their actions, and they will display these shortcuts in their tooltips! I am quite pleased with how this turned out, and as I slowly work on unifying program shortcuts to the new system, I hope to have this in more places.
Users in advanced mode get a new jpeg quality estimator comparison on the duplicate filter panel--when two jpegs appear to have fairly different quality, you will get a new 'A vs B' statement about it. This estimator is a bit hacked together, not totally precise, so I would be interested in your overall feedback. I expect to revisit it and add some options before I enable it for all users. Advanced mode users also get duplicate merge options back for 'alternates'.
the rest
I wrote a simple clipboard watcher for URL imports! Check it under network->downloaders. You can watch for 'watchable' URLs like imageboard threads and other 'recognised' URLs like booru pages. It checks for new text every second, adds URLs to pages just like a drag-and-drop event (i.e. to currently selected page if it is valid, otherwise the left-most valid page, otherwise making a new page), and can handle newline-separated lists of URLs. It is off by default.
Note that the client isn't happy about making new pages while it is minimised (their layout messes up), so if you clipboard-watch a bunch of URLs and it needs to make a watcher page for them, I have it set now so they will queue up until it is restored. If you leave your client minimised and want to send it URLs, I recommend you have a page set up for clipboard-watched (or Client API-added) URLs to land on until I can improve this.
The file viewing statistics system gets a pass this week--preview and media views now have minimum view times before they are counted, and they also cap to maximum values (so leaving a preview view up won't accidentally add a heap of time like 1 day 3 hours to your total viewtime. It is also now off by default for the duplicates filter. Check the new settings under options->file viewing statistics. If you got hit by some bad numbers before due to some accidental fast or prolonged views, check the new command under database->file viewing statistics->cull file viewing..., which will attempt to compensate for any bad values based on the new min/max caps. A yes/no dialog explains what it does.
There are several new shortcuts to help navigate the manage tags dialog, all under the 'main_gui' shortcut set: Four are called 'show_and_focus_manage_tags_XXX' and let you move keyboard focus to the various 'suggested' tag columns (recent/favourites/file lookup/related). Combined with 'set_search_focus', default Ctrl+S, which jumps you back to the tag autocomplete input, you should now be able to enter suggested tags completely without the mouse. Furthermore the new 'focus_media_window' will move focus back to the media viewer canvas if the manage tags window is launched from one (say for archiving or rating by shortcut without having to close manage tags).
You can now quick-enter 'namespace:' in a search page's autocomplete tag input to get the special (and efficient) 'namespace:*anything*' search predicate.
I fixed the popup-error problems that could come up when fading 'collected' thumbs! I apologise for the inconvenience here and have added some weekly pre-build tests to catch simple problems with collected thumbs in future.
full list
duplicates:
retuned the new alternate and false positive setting code to be less aggressive about removing potential pairs. users with alternate groups who updated to 354 may have lost some intra-alternate potential pairs, which I expect to fill back in once the potential pairs system is updated
the duplicate filter center-right hover window now has a trash button, which is moved to its own row with the cog icon where they will fit on thinner windows better
users who are in advanced mode now have access to duplicate merge options for 'alternates' again--but be careful with this, it is advanced. if you had merge options for alternates set up before, your old options _should_ return, but make sure to check it
if you are in advanced mode, the duplicate filter can now show an experimental jpeg quality comparison statement. if this works out, I will add custom scores and improve this otherwise based on feedback , so comments would be appreciated
.
client api:
the client api has a new 'manage pages' permission!
/manage_pages/get_pages now fetches a structure of the current page session! there's some help for it
in future, I expect to add a 'select page' command and get/remove/highlight URL(s) for downloader pages, and reveal the unique page identifier for better targeting here and for add_url commands
client api is now version 7
.
the rest:
fixed a stupid issue related to drawing collection thumbnails that was causing a lot of errors. I apologise for the inconvenience and have added pre-build tests to catch these simple mistakes in future
added a clipboard url watcher! there are two options now under network->downloaders--one for watcher urls, and one for all other _recognised_ urls (i.e. post and gallery urls, and file urls that have matching url classes). it checks every second, sends urls to pages according to the same rules as a drag and drop event, and will handle newline-separated lists of urls
when the client is minimised and needs to create a new downloader page because of an 'add url' command through this new clipboard watcher or the client api, it will now queue up the url and its page creation for when the client is next restored (page creation while minimized causes layout bugs). it returns an appropriate result text to the client api in this case
added four 'show_and_focus_manage_tags_XXX' shortcuts to the 'main_gui' shortcut set that let you select and focus the four possible suggested tags panels on the manage tags dialog. these are slightly special focus events that do some 'first tag selection' work as well and should let you make the whole process keyboard-only
added a 'focus_media_viewer' shortcut to the 'main_gui' shortcut set that focuses the media viewer from a media viewer's manage tags window
file viewing statistics gets an update: it now has its own options page where you can set min/max for preview and media viewing times. the global turn on/off control is moved from database menu to this page, as is a new control for enabling it on the duplicate filter (where you will be flicking back and forth and perhaps do not want lots of views recorded). duplicate filter file stats now default to disabled
added a new command to database->file viewing statistics that will cull your current stats based on the new min/max values to compensate for previous accidental '3day 4hour' preview view that snuck in. a yes/no dialog explains how it works before it goes
wrote a 'mixin' class to let my buttons automatically note current shortcut mapping information to the bottom of button tooltips
the duplicate commands and a variety of other media viewer buttons that work in the new shortcut system now report their current shortcuts in their tooltips!
quick-entering 'namespace:' in a search page's tag autocomplete input will now automatically swap in the special 'namespace:*anything*' predicate
cleaned up code around setting a custom temp_dir through the "temp_dir" command, and made it test the given path is indeed a directory and writable-to. if not, the program dumps out with an error popup
the client and server now similarly test that the directory db is a dir and writable-to
rearranged some critical boot error handling code and made the client's boot error handling throw up some ui
fixed the client's repairdb function when needing to regen autocomplete caches
autocomplete regen now publishes status updates to the splash screen
fixed the client's repairdb to wait correctly for the ui in case the user wants to bail before repair
the client's repair db now repairs the new local_tags_cache table if missing
fixed an issue with showing the manage logins panel when the domain had some unusual cookie expiry numbers
to reduce initial load gui-event crunch (which affects some systems' layout reliability), initial session load now happens after a 0.5s delay
cleaned up some image load error handling
when FFMPEG version information cannot be understood in help->about, a popup note appears and debug information is printed to the log
the advanced content update panel now puts up a 'working...' dialog while it processed a job
in the client
all 4XX and 5XX network exceptions' error texts are now prepended with the actual status code
extended the hover window debug report mode
improved some misc temp and permission testing code
improved some misc testing code
next week
It is E3 next week, so I am going to take my shitposting vacation week as usual. 356 will therefore be on the 19th. I would like to convert same/worse/better duplicate relationships to the new duplicates system, as I recently did for alternates and false positives. Otherwise I will do a bit of code cleaning.

I had an ok week. Some IRL things cut into my hydrus time, but I got some good work done. Some bugs in the new duplicate search system are fixed, and I improved advanced file delete and export handling.
The poll for the next 'big job' is up here: https://8ch.net/hydrus/res/12358.html The direct link is https://www.poll-maker.com/poll2331269x9ae447d5-67
duplicate filter
The search addition to the duplicate filter went fairly well, but there were a couple of significant bugs. The 'ghost pair' issue--where a queue would sometimes have a final pair that would never display and lead to high CPU until the filter was closed--is fixed, and safeguards added to catch similar issues in future. The issue with undercounting on large search domains (typically where the dupe page's file query was non-system:everything and covered >10,000 files) is also fixed, but giving the filter 500,000 custom files to work with can be really quite slow. I will keep working here to see if I can speed up big searches like this without compromising accuracy, but if you find your dupe searches are working too slow, try adding a creator: tag to bring the search size down--it works well.
The duplicate filtering workflow itself is still a v1.0 pain. I expect to put some work in here in the coming weeks (and doubly so if dupe work wins the big poll), likely highlighting the differences between the two images with an always-on-top panel and better at-a-glance decision-making for easy comparisons.
advanced delete
This week brings an optional advanced file delete dialog. You can turn it on under options->files and trash and also set custom file delete 'reasons' to assign. Once it is switched on, any file delete under the thumbnail grid, media viewer, or duplicate filter manual file delete will instead give a richer dialog that lets you physically delete files immediately (i.e. skipping the trash) and deleting files without leaving a delete 'record' (which is useful if you want to easily reimport those files later on).
You can also choose from your set reasons or type a completely custom one. These saved reasons reappear when that deleted file fails to import in future (due to being recognised as previously deleted), so if you are interested in tracking why you have previously deleted files, please check this out.
the rest
Export folders now have more timing options, basically the same as import folders. You can pause them individually, tell them not to run periodically, and force them to run manually under a new submenu under file->import and export folders->run export folder now.
The Artstation downloader seems to be not working due to a Cloudflare issue. I am leaving the downloader in for now, in case it starts working again, but if you have a subscription for it, I recommend you pause it for now. The default downloader for new users (and you, if you have it still set as the default) is now safebooru.
If you use the Dolphin file manager, check out this add-on that uses the Client API: https://gitgud.io/prkc/dolphin-hydrus-actions
Advanced users only: Missing file folder recovery is better--if a file folder (one of the subfolders, like 'f39' or 'ta2') is missing on boot but found in another 'known' location, the client will detect the moved folder and propose an auto-update of its records rather than forcing you to go through the complicated manual recovery dialog. If for some reason it is complicated or slow for you to move your folders from A to B through the migrate database dialog, you can now shut down your client, move the folders manually in explorer or wherever, and then reboot the client and be up and working in one click! Just make sure that hydrus knows about B in its locations under migrate database beforehand, and it will do the rest.

the duplicate filter no longer applies the implicit system limit (which defaults to 10,000 files) on its search domains, which solves the undercounting issue on large search domains. duplicate operations will be appropriately slower, so narrow your duplicate file queries (adding a creator: tag works great) if they take too long
fixed the duplicate pairs filter's 'ghost pair' issue. it was failing, when 'both files' was unchecked, to remove pairs that included one file that was non-local. this accidental inclusion resulted in incorrect non-zero count and filter/random pairs that could not display correctly
insulated against potential future iterations of this problem (likely that one of the pair was deleted by another process while a filter is ongoing), with a notification and graceful exiting of the duplicate filter while saving progress
the 'show random duplicates' button now puts the 'base' of the group (to which all the others are potentially matched) as the first thumbnail
added a new 'advanced file deletion' section to 'files and trash' options page to turn on a new advanced dialog and set custom file deletion reasons
if this new dialog is turned on, a delete event from thumbnail grid, regular media viewer, or the duplicate filter's manual delete will launch it. it permits you to delete physically (skipping trash) in one step or delete physically without leaving a deletion record (for easier later re-import) and choose one of the deletion reasons in the new options panel or set a one-time custom reason
export folders now have more run-controls: 'run regularly', 'paused', and 'run now'
the file menu now has a 'run export folder now' submenu just like for import folders-- it is simple now to set up an export folder that only runs when you tell it to
updated the on-boot missing file folder recovery process to automatically 'heal' file location mappings when a missing folder is actually in a location that is known (essentially, you can now manually move a bunch of folders from one known location to another while the client is off and it will recover automatically now). error dialogs will appear in this case summarising the problem and proposed fixes with a chance to bail out if you do not want it to happen
added a new frame type to 'gui' options page called 'regular_center_dialog' for yes/no style dialogs that are better in the center of the parent window
the custom web browser launch path and file type 'open externally' paths are moved from 'files and trash' to a new 'external programs' options page
as the superior '--temp_path' program launch parameter now exists for both client and server, I have removed the limited 'BUGFIX: temp folder override' option from the client's 'files and trash' page and use in the actual code. if this option was important to you, please migrate to the --temp_path launch parameter, which covers temp usage more comprehensively
as the artstation downloader is now non-functional, apparently by a cloudflare issue, the default gug for new users (and anyone with artstation set atm) is now safebooru
added dolphin file manager add-on link to the client api help
some misc file metadata fetching cleanup
next week
Next week is a cleanup week. Beyond boring ongoing code cleanup and rewrites, I would like to move some 'default' image parsing to preference OpenCV over PIL uniformly, including for the server (which currently does not need OpenCV). Having image work preference one library over the other at different times causes problems when they disagree about some image metadata (e.g. whether a file is rotated). OpenCV is fairly easy to get for all platforms now, and it generally runs faster and better, so I feel good about adding it to the server and making it the primary choice in all situations.
We breezed past 500 million mappings on the PTR in the past couple of weeks! This is great, and I am really thankful for everyone's contributions, but this growth is putting pressure on several different areas. You may have noticed we finally hit my 256GB/month bandwidth limit on the shared PTR account at the end of April. Regular PTR-syncing client databases are also getting huge, about 18GB. I have multiple plans for how to deal with the various issues here and expect to chip away at them throughout 2019. I may reserve a month or two of future 'big job' time to handle this work.
