hey! ty for liking my tsaritsa so much!!! i'd love to hear more of your thoughts on her, if there are any!

omg of course, she's absolutely stunning, your art style does her so much justice (and honestly is just an awesome gorgeous style in general!!) and tbh your design is how I picture her in my head now !!

I have a lot of thoughts and ideas about the Tsaritsa, a lot of them are just kind of ~vibe~ based and hard to convey, but i'll toss them beneath the cut!

I really like the theory that her 'ideal' is love, like it's such a fun and interesting concept

like, to begin with i imagine she was a very kind deity, not in a familiar way, but in a general sort of .. benevolent to her subjects and open to those that sought an audience with her. Not exactly 'warm', but not entirely shutting them out either

though i imagine that sort of hollowed out as time wore on and she realised that even being an actual deity didn't give her the power she needed to be able to make any real tangible changes to things or help those who were doomed from the start (which is probably a big part of why shes so anti-celestia or whatever)

despite her despair and attitude towards romantic love sort of withering, she places a heavy emphasis on familial love (including found family) and on forming bonds that will stand the test of toil and time

she comes off very aloof, especially to those beneath her, and will actively try to avoid being around others if she can help it. She dislikes forming close attachments

this isnt to mean that she doesn't care. she just cares so much that the only way she can deal with it is by distancing herself, or else she's just setting herself up for repeated heartbreak when her loved ones inevitably die.

the exception to this ? pierro.

pierro is cursed with undeath, and even before that he was someone with a fiercely loyal (and stubborn) streak.

they both told themselves theyd never allow themselves to become attached to someone else after all the losses theyd been through, but in making this pact alongside one another they basically sealed their own fate

there are no simple words for the kind of intertwined, codependent, epic-spanning love-hate they have for one another.

their bond was one forged in the fires of loss and hardened by the ice of grief. despite what they both may say, they're in it for the long haul. Tsaritsa has slowly become accustomed to this idea. Pierro has not and will still vehemently deny it.

i guess to really shave it down id call it a queerplatonic relationship. something unholy and gorgeous. two flowers holding onto a cliffside by the tips of their roots and growing around one another.

the second 'exception' is columbina. i imagine she's like a weird nibling to the tsaritsa. she was picked to be amongst the harbingers because of her ability to light up any room she's in (i imagine tsaritsa secretly has a nickname for her that's somewhere along the lines of 'songbird' because of her voice ngl)

outside of this, the tsaritsa is cool and aloof and works very hard to maintain her composure, especially when under scrutiny. she is brilliant at keeping this facade in place.

until she's no longer in the public gaze, that is.

i like to think she's a tiny bit of a goofball, she has a soft spot for 'dad jokes' that make pierro roll his eyes and rub his temples, and she quite enjoys wine (im sorry but if she were a facebook mom her page would be minion memes and posts talking about how its wine o-clock)

she also rather enjoys slapstick humour - there are a few dottore clones running around who have perfected it enough so that she has to cover her mouth with a hand to stop her subjects from seeing the way her lips twitch upwards as she holds back her laughter

she's also really, really petty. not that she'd ever do anything about it, but more than once pierro has found himself in her chambers late at night, watching as she paces back and forth, her sixth glass of wine in hand, and complains about how that 'brick-brained geo archon just won't sign the damn contract! isn't that his entire shtick?!'

she also has a soft spot for kids, or people who have a youthful energy about them. it reminds her that maybe not all is bad in the world, and that she's going to change it for the better for their sake.

I like to think she's extremely good at various sports - i love the idea featured on the asker's blog about her having an elk instead of a horse. that's so cool and lives in my brain rent free and forever tbh. her and pierro on their steeds racing through a snowy forest on a rare free afternoon

i think she would've once been the type to enjoy prosey, flowery words, long poems, romantic tales of star-crossed lovers, that kind of thing. she read a lot and even wrote some. not any more though.

she has a very stern and strict air about her and won't hesitate to play into that if she feels like she needs to, but honestly she's got a good sense of humour on her. things that pierro scolds the other harbingers and such for are often things that she secretly finds really funny

though ALSO she's a stickler for good manners. i like to think that has extended to the snezhnayans , who are, when dealing with those outside of their immediate familial circles, are super duper polite (even if their tones may come off as abrupt). there's also a very heavily laid-on vibe of 'respect your elders' in snezhnaya.

she has such motherly vibes, but in a really standoffish way. she wont tell someone directly that she cares about them or what happens to them, but it'll be rerouted through like three other people like a game of telephone. like, yeah, that one person she caught shivering while on guard is gonna get a nice new pair of gloves but it will be from an anonymous donor (or just shoved into their hands by pierro with an annoyed grunt)

honestly now ive started im kind of finding it hard to stop but i just adore the tsaritsa so much and i love love love how you draw her so much, she's just so amazing and feels so like.. real, y'know? thank you so much for this ask, i really enjoyed rambling and thinking about the tsaritsa some more. i think your design and ideas should be canon actually

Ive just listened to the latest ep of the pod, it was wonderful!! Halla's point on how parasocialiaty is defined by what it lacks, to be very insightful , ive always had a slight issue with how parasocial relationships r discussed in scholarship and the rapidly changing nature of media does not help.

when u guys were talking about how different artists develop different styles of parasocial relationships with their fans, like how the nature of a harries relationship with harry styles is in a way different from the parasocial relationship we have with matty or the relationships swifties have with taylor. And how artist actively foster these relationships so in a way they are a two-way street (please lmk if I'm misunderstanding ur points, cause I'm listening to the pod at work so I may miss some key info),

Anyway, this reminded me of a convo I had with a prof of mine, we were talking about the narrative and meta-narratives that artists (specifically singer-songwriters) present to the public (cause all famous people r presenting a narrative that's y they're famous)

I think this narrative/ meta-narrative really affects the establishment and nature of the artist/ audience parasocial relationship. I think that for an artist to be "stan-able" they must present a meta-narrative, so there is,, something MORE for the fans to know about them. For example, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay have huge fanbases and can play arenas but don't really have stans because they only present a narrative (i.e. the music/ album). Whereas artists like Harry styles and most kpop groups actively foster a parasocial relationship by presenting a narrative (i.e. the music/ album) then a meta-narrative, for harry this would be his vague allusions to queerness, for kpop groups this would be the slow reveal of their real personalities (cause a lot of kpop groups r given explicit "roles" by their management like "the cool one" "the childish one" "the leader" etc). This meta-narrative allows for dedicated fans to "know" the artist better than fan who "just" listen to the songs. Personally, i think matty presents a third kind of "post-meta- narrative" so his narrative is the album then his meta-narrative is the onstage/in-interview performance art then his post-meta-narrative is his reflection on the performance art. I think the main difference between artists who have a meta-narrative and artists who have a post-meta-narrative is that we don't know what harry styles the person thinks about "harry styles" the performance, whereas id argue that we know what matty the person thinks about "matty healy" the performance.

I dont have a super cohesive point to end on but I do think that matty presenting a post-meta-narrative gets lost in translation when the 1975 gets exposed to wider audiences (like the swiftes) who take the red-pilled, toxic masculinity, meta-narrative Matty presents, as the end all be all.

Because, as we were talking, in the back of my head, I was thinking about my second favorite artist, Father John Misty, whose music is lowkey similar to the 1975 in a lot of ways. And it’s definitely shaped me as a person a lot. He’s been my top artist on Spotify wrapped stats for years. HOWEVERRR, I don’t have the same relationship to him/ his art as Matty and the 1975. I think it’s precisely because of the meta-narrative that you’re pointing to!

perhaps that’s part of what Matty has in mind when he says “feeling personally addressed.” Even little things like referencing their own earlier discography or tongue-in-cheek jokes about lyrics. “You can’t figure out a heart you were lyin’” “it’s just like I’ve lost my head.” Not to mention Notes tracks that have samples of ABIIOR in the back/ signaling the end of Music For Cars era etc. all of those things feel like building a narrative that the fan can participate in, and is likely to make you more immersed in the music and the artist. So yeah 100% I think this is a really great thought and if you don’t mind us referencing it on the next ep (it’s gonna be a part 2 of this conversation but more centered around consumerism in fan culture) I’d love to bring it up with Zoe!

first of all, id like to mention that the art i posted just now was art that i had finished last night, before everything about mcpig came to light and i just wanted to post it since i already had it done…still unsure if im going to draw consistent pizza tower in the future honestly, id like to because its a lot of fun and i really do love a lot about the game. ideally, the current situation would change somehow so i can do that without any discomfort for myself or others, but the only way i foresee that happening is if the devs actually remove the racist shit from the game

what makes me feel (kind of) okay about producing fanart for the game despite what emerged is mostly the fact that as long as i am not reproducing the harmful contents of the game, nor directly supporting the people behind it, im not putting any harm into the world or perpetuating the 4chan stuff i guess? the only thing im really worried about is possibly getting people to want to buy the game by putting my fanart out there, but considering the games popularity from streaming and youtube videos i dont see my own art as contributing to that much. that makes it easier for me not to feel unsettled when i draw fanart for it, but i think that depends on how you view the relationship between fanart and source material, especially in an interactive space like the internet. if you think your art risks sending the message that you approve of negative aspects of a piece of media then its probably better not to share that art

theres also the fact that from the messages that were revealed i get the impression that at some point mcpig had a sort of disdain for "cringe leftists" being fans of the game i guess, and i would consider myself someone who he would/would have found cringe at one point lol. so by being into the game its kind of a fuck you idc that you hate me, this thing you made is being enjoyed by cringe leftists. considering the tone of some of the messages was "if people get mad at me im just going to be edgy in response" i dont even think disengaging with the game would even bother him at all. but all of that is really just speculation and i dont want to insinuate that engaging with bigoted media is proactive just because you are a marginalized person or have progressive politics. its important to actually weigh the harm of your actions and what effect you have with your consumption of said media i dont really know if thats a good answer though, and if it holds up to any sort of moral judgement. i do think its possible to enjoy problematic media, but considering how new the game is its not the kind of thing i can look at and be like "this piece of media is from x years ago and doesnt do real harm now". my worst fear is that there are pizza tower fans who are going to see the awful shit in the game and replicate it, bc the game somehow makes them thinks theres nothing wrong with it or that they can do so without consequence. just from a scope of the fandom there seem to be a lot of young teenagers so Yeah. im concerned in that regard and id like to beam a message into kids' brains thats just like Hey this character design/behavior fucking sucks Dont do this

so, by posting my art anyway i hope i can contribute to a portion of the fanbase that is outwardly against the bigoted content in the game, as an alternative to mcpig dick riders/defenders. and if there are any fans out there involved in the community who dont know better, hopefully they can learn, and avoid perpetuating bigotry

all that being said, your feelings on the matter may be very different, and you dont have to abide to any of this thinking. if a piece of media is upsetting you, its okay to step away from it as long as you need. maybe see how you feel when you come back to it and if the hateful feelings are still there, there is no obligation to engage further

Why I started this blog

Originally this was a blog like any other; art, reblogs n shit. As I grew more into a Viv fan, I started posting fanart and follow blogs on her work. The more I learned the more I hated, and thus I began to become a critic. I was pissed off at viv wasting her potential, and eventually I became just as toxic and shitty as both her hardcore haters and majority of her fans. Some takes were good, some bad, either way I got too involved, too absorbed and let it consume me. Stupidly getting into conflicts, stuff like that. And I became a hardcore hater. I vocalised it. My initial aims long lost. Then I disappeared.

Vivzie, co, all that

I went from adoration to disgust of this lot. Now though, whilst I deeply dislike Viv and her crew, deeply dislike majority of the fans, I just feel... Gross. Hollow. Exhausted. I have a lot to say on Viv and my previous takes but truthfully I am too lazy and too tired and ultimately have better shit to do than go through every little thing right *now*. But I do want to at least cover a few here to do some justice, I guess.

So to skim through a few. Lets go.

Viv tracing. Honestly, tracing is a useful skill but it's bad when you trace another's work, don't credit and claim it as your own. This includes modified tracing (starting with a trace then stylising over it to make it more your style). Having nazi, nonce, etc characters I think people take extreme. These sorts make excellent "love to hate them" villains. Owning such characters isn't a crime. It's how theyre portrayed and the purpose. The nuance - something to constantly keep in mind. Her romanticism sausage party art is yikes. With her age, maturity, humour, I believe she saw this as some kind of fucked up humour, having enough awareness to understand the taboo to hide this stuff yet I do feel this was a stupid kid doing stupid edgy shit. Does that make it right? No. But I definitely dont think Viv is some nonce or nazi supporter. Later finding out how this profile was discovered makes me equally question morality on all sides. Vivs beastiality nonce artwork with the snake tub, Ive seen private dms to solidify that viv admitted to both owning this piece and that it was supposed to be a joke. Once again, I genuinely dont think shes a nonce BUT she needs to realise that if that character was below 18, she has drawn child prawn (censorship whooo) as well as distributed it via sharing online. That's still something really serious and gross. I get her humour is immature and dark, but theres lines you dont cross. And I dont find that art funny in any ways, it genuinely looks like a perverts wank bank rather than funny. Idk if the lad was one of them shapeshifting animals either but being in a human form in this instance does make the portrayal a beastiality one, due to human presenting. That's not cool. As much as I loathe those who would abuse kids or animals, I dont think this is Viv necessarily. Though I believe in this sense, Viv needs to understand and work with her cats more. She's done a lot of wrong shit but false accusations derail from solid proven issues that need addressing. At the least, Im glad the animal pervs and nonce stuff is gone. Heartbreaking that shit is so often heard of. This is the sort of thing Id laugh at as a kid but now Im grown and look after little ones, it fills me with nothing but sickening horror. Whilst vile vile vile, I havent seen anything concrete to prove or imply Viv supporting/participating in such depravity. And I fucking pray it stays that way.

You have apologised in the past. But the way you did so, the way you spoke about it afterwards and the way you are now proves it was insincere. Something to shut 'haters' up.

Viv, with all your shit, neurodiversity and late maturity, you're still yet to change for the better. The people you hang with are some of the most vile, toxic, narcissistic and shitty people. Yes men. You hire fans who'll do anything to please you, which can open the path to abuse (note: CAN, not a definitive, though in this case...). You equally are still a shitty person still. You're coming apart at the seams. Critique and hate aren't the same, and unfortunately you'll need adaptability and tough skin in this world as people can be very cruel. You lie. You twist like a constrictor. Charm the more susceptible. A very well known kissarse of yours on twitter who was quite the bully was followed by yourself, liked tweets then hired. They arent the only one either. Whilst you cannot be responsible for every single fans every single action, their are responsibilities you hold. Viv, I can wholeheartedly empathise with receiving harsh hate early on in life and online. I know how that can taint and stunt the mind. But the thing is, you have to eventually break from that. BE responsible. Grow. Ive been toxic before. That's partially why I fixate on some of this. Equally Im angry. You ARE a VERY talented artist with potential. A shitty writer, do work on that (as well as diverse stories to tell - gain those experiences or listen to those who've been there - esp as you're doing this as a living) but when you're passionate about a piece, you're talented. And when you're not, you do what we all do and dole shite out (btw people thought I was bullying Viv when I said her P5 Alastor piece was bad in comparison to her other works. The proportions were awful, you could tell she just wanted it out the way. A startling lack of soul.) From what I've seen, you crave approval and admiration to compensate from the past cruelty. I can empathise. But that shit isnt healthy. And you block yourself from growth. You cultivate a tainted crop. You poison yourself. You sacrifice integrity and the gruelling work of improvement for the instant gratification of worship from fans by bending to their desires and your own at the cost of quality. What couldve been groundbreaking storytelling and visuals is nothing more than a glorified low-level fanfic. Wasted potential. Something I cant stand. I have been harsh as that same method helped me. In doing so, I disregarded your own humanity. I wish I conducted myself better and though I never encouraged abuse, I'm sorry that my words may have contributed to this shit cycle.

Your staff and many of your fans have... Concerning attributes, such as the fetishing of toxic relationships, blurred boundaries, disregard of boundaries, etc. The stark numbers of such unpleasant people flocking you is extremely worrying.

I do deeply dislike you. I do feel you have ultimately caused your own shit - been there - but I do pity you as well. I wish you'd go the effort to be you. To be less try hard. To allow growth and change, diversity, stop petting hatred. Get a better crowd, esp one willing to actually help you to be better by pointing shit out. To stop mass abusing others. I do dislike you greatly. I wish you would do better but all you've been doing is doubling down on shit. I feel Icarus needs to fly closer to the Sun for change to happen. It feels like the only way you may actually ground yourself and smell the roses. I just wish folk could be better as a whole. Sick of shit like this. Whilst no one is perfect, there's still standards to uphold. Growth to be had. Breach stereotypes and fetishes that dehumanise, work on yourself and your relationships with others. Careful on your humour and learn how to execute humour properly. Glad you're not doing beastiality art though. You cant please everyone and shouldnt have to in order to be admired and popular. Just be better. Also hating kids isnt a personality. I get not everyone cares about them but dont take shit too far. They can be gross and annoying but in the end they're just... Children. Theyre learning and growing. You can only hope they bloom into decent people. Admittedly a kid tripping is pretty funny but there's a limit. If you want to portray a creep, don't do anything that endorses their behaviours. Theyre vile, remember. No kid deserves that. Work on financing too. Medicating via shopping is a dangerous road. Dont bend to social pressures (such as getting wasted because friends do if you dont want to). Vet your staff. Better ethics.

Fandom

And the fans are just... A minority are lovely. I had a HuskerDust fan be respectful of our differences and hope the best for them. But the majority I've encountered or witnessed have been off their fucking heads. Often encouraged by Viv or staff. The staff and fans are now claiming that critics are homophobic racists falsely (which implies certain races, sexualities, identities, etc are absolved of criticism - which is both favouritism and it's own form of bigotry. Hell, it's spitting on the real victims of such crimes over mediocre cartoons and digital lunacy). These same people then insult people for... being cis and straight. Firstly, that's also bigotry and a dick move on identity and invalidation, it's also false in some cases (proving folks just spew shit), it demands special treatment for identities when we're all equal and deserve to be treated with equity, it's also just... Weak. Bigots can fuck off BUT many critiques have been about inconsistency in plots, writing and design issues, etc. Nothing pertaining identity.

Fans have been hypocritical like their idol. We're all hypocritical to an extent. But the madness... Ok, Blitzo uses retard (note: neurodivergant and have right to say that word, even then it also means delay "fire retardant" as well as where I live it's not nearly as bad as another term used yet is still fine in the US.) I think this isn't an issue as it can show things or speech patterns of the character. Then fans have falsely accused critics of ableism who either havent used the word, quoting this or even have right to say it yet coddle this fictional character. This was referenced in a recent episode with Blitzo about to call another character (rumours are this nurse is autistic but I do NOT have full confirmation. Pinch of salt!) retard before retracting it as it being unacceptable to say. Blitzo really wouldnt give a shit. Likewise I feel this is one of those permanant grey areas in fiction; is it? Isnt it? in terms of using terms. Of Mice and Men used slurs against black folk, that was to reflect that time and the character's mentalities. Not an author's mirror. Likewise, it wasn't used as humour either. Coming from ONE ND, I couldn't care. I feel this is hyperfocused on over more glaring issues, as well as a benefit of the doubt (being character mindset and possibly not author projection). Feel free to have your own opinions, and I only speak for myself there. I can empathise with those who may feel more sensitive to the word (which is why Im more careful in it's use) but as someone who is also technically affected, I just... Personally dont feel too bothered. Likewise, I'm learning to hold more human compassion and flexibility to error and human flaws rather than perfect standards (again, this wont justify or absolve. And more serious things like an assault doesnt apply. It's daft this needs clarifying, it should be the bare minimal). Not everyone will agree on everything, but there's just some lines that should be a standard. I think the staff and fans overall conduct themselves immaturely, cruelly, and cause harm.

I regret in engaging in some arguments. Not worth it. I think I shouldve been more compassionate to difference yet equally not been so volatile with harassment. HunterGirl's HD discord hate on me is... Something I shouldn't have fed. Hate me, that's fine. But the fact someone so close to Viv allowed the harassment is disappointing and shitty. Bitch behind the scenes but dont go out at people. Likewise behind the scenes talk, dont threaten folk either *Viv* (at one of your ex-staff). Call someone the biggest wanker you know but there are limits you dont cross. As with Viv and co, I once hoped for improvement but I just lack faith in that now and I'd just rather stay away from it all. Too much toxicity I've allowed myself to bathe in and hatred and venom only burns. Only burns more of the same product. It's not worth it. Don't even have the skills or assets to do any good from this either. If I can't help, itd be best to support those who can help whilst staying away from the vitriol. Stick to the facts and my own integrity. It's tiring to be involved in all... this. Again, I can only speak on myself hence why I'm only saying me shit. Any vents can be done to friends but otherwise none of this has resulted in any good. And I contributed to cruelty as well. It aint right.

Friendships

Bit more personal and past. Ive made many nice friends. Friends Im still friends with now, and I thank them. With certain issues arising, theyve been the anchors to ground and account me. Real friends. Friends that deserve to be shown more how appreciated they really are. Thank you. They have guided me into better awareness and accountability. We have our own little group now for art, gaming and hopefully any other group activities. Friend stuff. We'll rant, we'll vent, but we're actually doing friend shit now. Ive hyperfixated enough on negatives. Dragged others into an abyss with me. Its not fair for them.

There is a friend here, I think they dont see my stuff anymore idk. I was warned about them. Through all Ive seen and my experiences, I wish you to get help. Get off tumblr. Get off twitter. Both can be extremely toxic as well as cultivate toxicity. Be accountable. Get help. And focus on you. I still worry for you, though I am disgusted on some of your actions. Treat the living with respect. Learn that people will try to bait you. Let go of paranoia (not easy), confront your past and grow. And please... Dont lie. Dont lie about events that occur as you're creating your own misery. Learn to step back and not be so forceful and preachy. Been there, it's not a good place. Experience a diverse crowd on a human level. And please spend some time away from the internet. People really can be pricks sometimes. Even ourselves. You're also pretty hair trigger and tempered. A bit like me sometimes LOL. Learn to balance that. Trust me.

I joined a spindle critique group. What I learned is the union from bitterness isnt solid grounds for friendship. I wont go into details as it's a private and resolved matter. I shared the full log to current friends to have a neutral and raw take. These are friends I can trust will yank my chain if Im in the wrong. And they did. They spoke of the wrongs on both sides. These are folks who are guiding me to better. Folks I have trusted with the full log, full transparency. I appreciate you both and take your words into stride daily. To old friends, I would rather friends make their own choices. I never hated you, but was hurt on this other side of you. Likewise Im sorry to make you feel that way. Im sorry to have trauma dumped (recently discovered this term, and using it to manage myself better.) There was only one individual that I was given uneasy vibes on and made that clear from the start. I tried with them. For awhile, I even started to see them as a genuine friend. In the end, we were too clashing. We didn't mesh well. My initial feeling on the situation ultimately felt true. But when I open up about home issues and emotions, I dont want them weaponised. Especially as Ive been doing some irl work to find many holes in my perspective as well as others hard work in being involved with me. Things are different now. Never felt it needed in convo, I was too fixed on my own hurt. Home was self preservation at those times. I regret opening up over some personal issues. None of this absolves me of poorly handling situations and anger issues. Near the end, I felt more wary to be more open on certain things. But I shouldve been a better friend. I never liked how catty things got. Trolled. We all just became knobs in one way or another.

My ask to remove my triggers was me hoping to do good for you. Remove a trigger that would inevitably end up being a large part of the group sooner or later, maybe this summer. Especially as I 'lacked empathy'. I thought I was doing good. I never lied about it, and feel bitter that was twisted. If I explained something, I was wrong. Kept it brief, I was bitchy. I was willing to endure a trigger if it made things easier in the group, and the situation was more than a stupid ship. Ive had triggers Ive adapted to handle better now. And public, you are not entitled to my medical history however we're in an age where youre both valid and entitled to privacy yet must breach privacy to have a voice. I have an ED. A certain word wasn't even allowed in my presence without panic and flashbacks. I was a little girl then. And I managed to slowly ease the trigger word via gradual exposure - a replacement word, spelling the word, and eventually hearing the word. It - and what it has done to me - will always scar me. But I learned to handle it better in my own time. I dont need lecturing on how triggers work. Especially when each case is unique, each 'cure' is personalised. If you want to believe Im full of shit then... Do that. Im sorry for being a shitty friend at times and Im working on that, but outside opinions (note: these are done in private spaces so all parties are anon) have noted flaw on your end too. We all fucked up. The two things below the belt were the trigger claims (hence my example of my own experiences with another trigger) and my private issues shared in confidant are the two things I remain disgusted by. That doesnt justify my frustrations, dumping or behaviour. And my example is not a pity ploy either. We're separate now, and it's best that way.

Overall, being here, in this community and fandom, has done nothing but shit. Fuelled the worst in me and others (from what ive seen in public fandom spaces). I may do art and other creative endevours on spindle, but otherwise good riddance. Even if the purge is painful.

Another friend. Im in their group too. One to improve some creative skills. Appreciate being let in there, though I'll probably mainly lurk for tips. Thank you for allowing me to do so. Wording is honestly growing harder for me each day. It's helping me start the path of better expression.

Current and future

I word shit less. Not here, as this is long overdue. But trying to sum up more efficiently. Spending more time irl to improve myself and my life. Welcoming friends who we both can hold each other accountable and support. Focusing more on stuff to improve as well as enjoy. The world is so dismal. So I spend time doing other stuff. Im already mopey enough. Sorting things to refine and focus on enjoyments. Gaining skills to help others. Experienced some personal griefs/losses. And Im learning that people arent entitled to everything. Not quite there yet but Im learning. Im often in deep pain, so cant always do what I want to get done in a day.

Most likely, I will discontinue this. Besides others have been doing a brilliant job. Dont absorb yourself. You can control much of what you get exposed to, so what you can control, make it good! Have integrity, work on yourselves. Try not to be a dickhead but acknowledge where you are a dickhead and work on that. Balance is key to a healthy mind, take the good with the not so good. Take the time to simply sit outside and observe. Appreciate life. Similarities and differences. Nothing is perfect. No one is perfect. But have your standards. Learn. Grow.

Im in a lot of pain and have shit to do. Take care. i definitely plan on posting more stuff for this au (especially about shin and sou because they are my favorite characters hdjdjsjhd), but i keep getting sidetracked from making posts about the story because of my desire to create silly doodles instead… rest assured more content is on the horizon!!

since you asked, though, i can provide you a lil bit of insight into my ideas for the characters!! :D

- for shin and sou, i wanted to focus on the idea of their relationship being more evenhanded, where shin is able to stick up for himself (because as much as i love bullying shin that man needs a break sometimes). i thought it was an interesting angle to play at because i think the both of them can be very cunning when it comes to getting the results they want, and i wanted to explore what it would look like if they worked together as allies while also using that trait against each other… so the mutual identity thefting sort of functions as a show of the uneasy trust they’ve built, if that makes any sense?

- kugie is a very pivotal character in the story, and what’s really interesting to me about her is how her grief over losing her sister would manifest itself differently from kanna’s. i definitely think she’d react a lot more with anger and hopelessness, pushing others away and trying to solve problems on her own. she does warm up to a couple of the other characters though, such as ryoko and kai, and that fuels her a lot more to start working with others.

i also just think she’d be a lot more prone to calling people out for their bad behavior than like…sara, for example? i definitely don’t see her taking shin’s constant lying lightly.

- maple was also very very interesting for me because i had to think about what her life would be like as a human, and also how she would’ve gotten involved with asunaro. i thought it would be cool to connect her with mai, since they’re both bakery gals, and that’s eventually how i came to the idea of her signing the form to protect mai from the organization (and so, mai never gets kidnapped…)

personality-wise, i wanted her to take on an “older-sister” archetype, but also have it be clear she’s already burdening herself with a lot as well. she really just wants everyone to get along…

i know im probably just repeating a lot of what i said in my original post on this au haha, but i worry this post would get overly rambly if i got into specific in-depth story points… though i’m pretty much up for making posts about any part of the story (i’m planning on making one about the dummies soon), so if there’s anything specific you wanna see me touch on first let me know! :D

It's cool how much we have in common X'D If you wanna keep talking post exchange I'd be up for that! Tbh at one point I too wanted to be a games designer...I tried to make a visual novel once. I did not have the patience for it. (It's funny cause my job requires a lot of patience, but then often I do not have patience?? I joke that my job uses up my patience but tbh I think it's just a different type of patience. Explaining concepts to a child repeatedly feels different from learning to code or play an instrument. I imagine there's many people who have the patience for the latter who would not for the former.)

I ALSO at one point wanted to go into fashion design - specifically, wedding dress designs!! I basically went from STEM careers to art careers then settled in education XD If I could do all three I would. But for now I'm satisfied with art as a hobby and education as a job. My mum also works with kids, but like, early years so before school aged XD I guess I sort of take after her in that regard.

Re: dogs and cats! My uncles both have dogs XD I think I'm kinda wary of dogs because I know many poorly trained dogs. But then like...one of my uncles has the most chill dog ever? Kinda a dumb dog too. They got burgled once and on camera they found that the dog had been awake and the burglar just stepped over the dog. She's just a very docile dog that doesn't feel a need to get worked up over things XD

I am very sorry about the cat trying to kill you tho!! Some cats can be vicious, to be fair. My two are very sweet thankfully - a black and white one who is 5 in October, and a tabby who turns 2 in May! The older one is generally more chill, she just likes to sleep and cuddle and judge others. And then the younger one wants to run around and cause trouble (nothing major, to be fair, worst she does is steal my post) and play all the time lol. She also wants to cuddle a lot, but she finds it hard to sit still long enough.

My favourite way to spend a day off is basically art, time with my sister (and friends, but usually I have to text because we live a few hours apart), and then a date with my gf. I like a bit of gaming too (found out Stardew Valley updated so been on that today after I finished work). It's also less energy consuming, so it's nice to use light gaming as a break inbetween art stuff. Providing it's single player games. I am extremely competitive when it's multiplayer, woops. My family and I once ended up contacting a monopoly helpline because my uncle and I got into such a debate over one of the rules lol. And as for compliment...not really sure? Sometimes I have people ask me where I got my clothes, or ask if I got them from specific brands, and that feels like a compliment because it means I made something that looks at least vaguely professional XD Honestly compliments on my art always make me happy. Oh, and compliments professionally - whenever a child or parent has positive things to say about me I'm like :D. I think I just like to know that others appreciate the things I can do? okay whatever im responding to this post sorry i went off topic a little bit because i love heavymedic and i just wanted to rant abt them for a bit

i think the problem with the “boring” representation of the characters comes from when theyre mischaracterised, people fit them into old tropes without actually looking deeply at the characters themselves, reusing the same shit over and over again because people dont know any different. and i dont blame them, being in fandom culture for a long time tends to make people do things like that

but at its best, heavymedic acting like a “married couple” (in the sense that theyre heavily, heavily in love and sickeningly affectionate and sweet with each other) is anything BUT boring. the contrast between the incredibly sweet lovey dovey stuff they do and the incredible violence that they enact onto other people (and sometimes each other, you know, unethical surgery and shit) feels very close to the original spirit of tf2 and also its just hilarious! i like/dont mind the wholesome stuff a lot because we generally dont really get to see medic outside of his work setting at all in canon tf2 media, we dont see his personality much beyond “incredibly crazy mad scientist” and just seeing him being put into situations that Arent that is just cool to me. idk. i really like @parisoonic’s interpretation its very funny and silly to me and i love his art

i agree with the bit about protection etc but id also like to add its less abt defense and its more about them being a crazy power couple on the field and both of them enjoying the feeling of killing people. you know what i mean? like theyre not doing this to protect each other (mostly) but its to fulfill their desire for more violence and shit

unrelated but also i think part of the reason i like them so much is that. their personalities mesh so well. because they kind of Are semi-canon and theres a whole entire document about it (https://archiveofourown.org/works/38061973/chapters/95073271 ) and then the proof with the achievement at the end idk its so awesome to me that one of my favorite ships in all of fiction has so much canon backing. and it works well because in turn the characterisations of them in canon lend themselves well to seeing them in a romantic relationship! its awesome its great theyre great

i think we can achieve the best of both worlds by just looking at their canon personalities and relationship and just kinda extrapolating from there idk you cant go wrong with that i dont think! i dont know if this post made any sense but yeah i love them ill never stop talking about them etc

Oooh this is gonna be fun... okay idk if this is an "unpopular opinion" either but I DO feel like I'll be shooting some live rounds into a hornet's nest so: some of you just make heavymedic boring I'M SORRYYYYY. Idk there's just a very generic, very "fandom-incorrect-quotes" type feeling to a lot of heavymedic content that I've seen, which I guess isn't really unique to them but they're so popular that I see it so much. I find the "very generic Wholesome Married Couple" thing to be boring for them, it doesn't really fit with the Fucking lunacy of either of these characters and doesn't let their respective jokes shine in my opinion. Oh also heavymedic characterized primarily by Heavy "protecting" Medic is tired. I think on a character level neither of them should be primarily occupied with "protecting" the other, they'd both be very aware of the other's battle expertise and physical capabilities and I also think that either of them would eventually get pretty fed up with being treated like they can't protect themselves, but on a gameplay level everyone knows it's Heavies who can't leave the fucking house without a Medic LMAO

Like,,cool,,,people could send asks to his blog..and it’s kind of apparent that he (or someone on the SaSi team) goes through tags and finds art (or like? there is some other process for the fanart shout outs that we are unaware of). On their own. And those aren’t necessarily terrible things? But combine it with the “writers room” and Joan, who I believe was the main writer for the series (or at least put a lot of love and time into writing good characters), it feels like the show is becoming a caricature of itself. 

In the most recent episodes Roman has felt like his s1 self, Logan is becoming more and more like his fanon personality, hell, I even feel like Virgil is becoming very “uwu”-ified in the canon series. And it feels so abrupt! I was watching the most recent Aside and i was hit with whatever the fuck Roman was doing, because he felt so much louder and more annoying than I’d remembered him, and I couldn’t tell if it was a narrative choice, or maybe I was remembering him wrong? But now I realize it was probably just bad writing. 

And I *so* agree that the whole “stop ignoring me” arc is coming from the fans. There really hasn’t been any build up to it in the canon series, and most of the emotions that Logan has been expressing in the most recent episodes felt like a completely fanon version of the canon character. Why is Logan suddenly so ok with being more openly emotional? Why does he suddenly feel upset about the others “ignoring” him when there are very few canon instances of that happening? What the fuck????

And I do think this comes from how Thomas and the rest of the crew interact with fans. I think that the way asks are open (or at least used to be open) on Thomas and Joans blogs influenced how the characters were written because the fans ideas about the characters were present in those asks. I think the “fan artist shout outs” are good in theory, but in practice looking through tags or whatever will definitely influence how Thomas/the team sees the characters. I *hate* the patreon choice and the “writers room” choice because there is no way in fucking hell that fans are not influencing the real fucking arcs in the canon series through that. I dislike that they can’t hire actual animators and instead rip off fans to animate their episodes, because, again, if they are interacting with those artists at all beyond a very formal and professional relationship, then those artists will influence the team.

And maybe I’m wrong!! I have No idea what happens behind the scenes of Sanders Sides, but recently the show has felt off. It has felt way too much like the fandom. I used to be able to watch the episodes and be slapped in the face with how different the fans view of the sides is compared to the actual canon personalities. Now it feels like it’s all muddled together, like Roman has become a bigger, louder, more egotistical asshole than his character in SvS and the first two asides felt (aka his most recent character development), how Virgil is becoming cuter and more palatable recently, how Janus is somehow completely forgiven by Thomas and Patton??? How Logan’s arc feels out of place, and how it feels like he’s saying lines lifted directly from fanfiction. I hate it!! It’s ruining the show for me!! Because i reallly dislike this fandom and how toxic it has gotten over time, and I dont like the see the fanon concepts of much more complex and interesting characters becoming the canon versions. 

And again, I would like to stress that Thomas has always been very entrenched in the fandom. That his view of the characters is definitely somewhat influenced by that. And the recent choices with “writers room”, all the patreon bullshit, the dresses, and (in my opinion) the tiktoks have emphasized his involvement with fans and fandom, and that the recent narrative choices might reflect that. 

Also i feel like Joan being gone will have a real affect on the show. I don’t know why. I just don’t really trust Thomas or the rest of the team at this point because of the animation shit, the time between episodes, the patreon, etc. 

This is probably really hard to follow and I’m sorry i just,,, I dislikes the most recent episode so strongly and I have a lot of feelings lmao. (P.S lmk if the Image ID can be improved!!)

not quite a liveblog as I am wont to do but ruth and I watched tf earthspark so I figured id write down scattered thoughts bc who KNOWS when the next eps are dropping and id love to remember what I think of things whenever that rolls around

so let me start off by saying this show is banger. we rlly like it so far awww

still also gotta say rip cyberverse, that show was SO good and died too soon :( 

but yeah I like this show a lot!!! I rlly dig how it looks, I wasn’t sure about the art style/3d animation at first but it looks really good. better than cyberverse if I'm honest (sorry cybv your budget probably wasn’t as good its not ur fault)

I loooove that we’re starting off at an interesting point in which the autobot-decepticon war is over and has been for a while, and megatron is on the same side as the bots, but there’s still conflict....LOVE IT 

cyberverse was also based for having the war going on but in a different way than shows usually did, and having the sides kind of aware of how fruitless the fighting was, and then eventually w the quintessons the two sides had to unite. anyways I have a whole separate post on cyberverse so I should chill 

the human characters are great. I feel like there's the right amount of focus on them and I really dig the family dynamic we’re getting. the kids are cute and fun and I love their relationships w/the bots...I love that mo calls OP “mr optimus” awww

I love the parents also. alex husband of the year he’s so great. and dorothy is so cool and I LOVE her and megatron. they’re like platonic malewife-girlboss. power bffs.

I really enjoy that the robots aren’t ‘in disguise’ either - the world seems to be aware of them and their existence and the war that went on. that’s cool! I like that a lot; ik the tagline for tf is ‘robots in disguise’ and all but if u think about it they weren’t really hidden in g1 even

ok and the terrans are adorable. theyre just babies and I love them. I looove how they were adopted into the malto family its so cute. I’m enjoying them and their antics and I feel like there’s a great mix of cute hijinks w/them learning how to be tfs, and also with other plot stuff

I love that OP is working for them, and has a sense of ‘I’m doing this for the greater good/this is a means to an end (the end being peace)’ but OP seems to know that GHOST is sketchy as fuck - with him hiding the terrans’ existence and bumblebee being alive from them...but also he tells megatron to give them a chance, which is very OP of him, so that makes sense, but I’m curious if it’ll blow up in his face ((it totally will))

megatron was RIGHT in that one ep where he was trashing GHOST. them having all those cons locked up is bad news. and ruth pointed out that we haven’t even seen who’s in charge of GHOST which is pretty concerning.

I feel like it was due to animation/budget constrictions more than anything

I like that the humans are directly involved in the plot in a way that makes sense bc the human world has already been to war with/alongside the tfs, so there are a ton of different relationships that humans can have w/the tfs. this is way more interesting than st like tfp, which I think did a pretty bad job integrating the humans, or tfa, which had Sari w/a macguffin that was plot-important in order to keep her involved

Patton

* Greek reference: Patton’s name has been specifically chosen by Thomas because Patton comes from the greek word pathos, one of Aristotle’s three modes of persuasion (along with logos and ethos). As Wikipedia explains, pathos “appeals to the emotions/feelings of the audience”, hence the connection between Patton and his role as the embodiment of “most of Thomas’ feelings”.

* Psychoanalysis reference: Considering his role as Thomas’ Morality, Patton also represents Thomas’ super-ego. Super-ego is one of the theoretical constructs used by Freud to describe the activities/interactions of the mental life of a person, along with the concepts of Id (the chaotic, instinctual desires) and Ego (the mediator between instincts and super-ego).

Super-ego is the critic, the moraliy. Super-ego "reflects the internalization of cultural rules, mainly taught by parents applying their guidance and influence" (Wikipedia). And if these words sounds familiar, it's because they are:

[Thomas]: And finally, this is my moral side. My sense of right and wrong that I’ve learned ever since I was a kid from my own parental units.

This is how Thomas introduced Patton to us in the very first episode. So yes, Patton clearly represents Thomas’ super-ego.

Logan

* Greek reference: Logan’s name comes from logos, one the three modes of persuasion, along with pathos and ethos. While pathos appeals to the emotions of the audience, logos is based on facts and figures that support the speaker's claims. So it makes sense both his connection with Patton and why Thomas specifically chose this name for Logan.

* Religious reference: in Christianity, Logos is the means through which all things are made, as it says in the famous line: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

Logos/the Word isn’t God, but it’s something within God and part of God. And this is incredibly cool, because it gives Logos a trait almost ethereal, as something that is divine, but also something more, something superior.

* Greek reference (again): in the WTIT’s end card, Logan mentioned Apollo and the entire fandom freaked out. I was drowned in asks about Apollo, people starting analyzing the entire history of Apollo and finding out parts of his story that might be related and so on. In other words, pure fandom’s work XD

So, to all the people who wrote me asks about Apollo: here’s just the quickest recap ever about him.

Apollo is a very important good - considering he’s the national divinity of the Greeks. He’s the god of sun: he pulls the sun’s chariot in the sky during the day and he has always been associated with light, brightness and, even later, with the sun itself.

He is also associated with prophecies: the most important Oracle in Greece was the Oracle of Delphi and its high prietess, known as Pythia, was able to predict the future under divine possession by Apollo.

Apollo is considered the inventor of string-music, hence why he’s commonly depicted with a lyre. He’s the god of music, dance, poetry and arts in general (he was companion of the Muses).

But, most importantly, Apollo is associated with science and medicine. His own son Asclepius is the god of medicine. And Apollo has always been concerned about health and education of children.

Heck, Apollo is so strongly associated with science and education, there’s a whole space program with his name: the famous Apollo program, which succeeded in landing the first humans on the Moon.

And that’s not all: in my post about Remus I talked about the Apollonian and Dionysian impulses. The first being analytic, calm and ordered, while the second is chaotic and destructive.

This is the main reason why Logan chose Apollo. Compared to the other greek gods, Apollo is the most balanced, logical one. Apollo is the god closest to him and to what he wanted to do during that episode: to push Thomas towards more analytic, organized thoughts, instead of lingering on the chaotic ones.

Roman

* Roman reference: Roman’s name is an obvious reference to Rome and the ancient Rome period in general.

And this is extremely important, because real Thomas used Rome as main reference for the Sides, along with the ancient Greece. In fact, the Others have names that refer to ancient Rome, while the Core Sides have names related to Greece. So having a side whose name doesn’t refer to just one concept or an historical/mythological figure is VERY interesting. Almost a way to suggest Roman is someone important, important enough to encompass a whole period.

* Artistic reference: by Thomas’ admission, Roman’s name also refers to the Romanticism movement. Unlike the name might suggest, Romanticism isn’t entirely based on romance: the movement was characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism, in opposition to the previous Enlightenment movement.

As Wikipedia perfectly explains:

“The movement emphasized intense emotion as an authentic source of aesthetic experience, placing new emphasis on such emotions as fear, horror and terror, and awe — especially that experienced in confronting the new aesthetic categories of the sublime and beauty of nature.”

So Romanticism wasn’t just a purely “romance-based” period: it was based on emotions, especially terrible ones. It originated in opposition to Enlightenment, that was a movement mostly based on rationalism and logic. And it valued the individual, the “hero”, much more compared to the masses.

Virgil

* Greek/Roman reference: Virgil’s name is based (by Thomas’ own admission) of Publius Vergilius Maro, the most famous Roman poet and author of the epic poem Aeneid (the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan warrior who travelled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans). In addition to that, he’s also known for being Dante’s guide through Hell and Purgatory in Dante’s Divine Comedy.

This shows how much Virgil acts like a bridge between the two “main groups”: he has a Roman name like the Others, but he talks about a Greek hero - thus showing a connection with the Core Sides. And it’s very beautiful.

* Biblical (headcanon) reference: I joked a couple times about Virgil being the prodigal son, because I am very weak for some dark sides family content, so here it is for you a brief accurate (more or less) recap of the parable.

A father has two sons. One day, the younger one says “screw you, old man, I want my portion of inheritance to go live my life far away”. His father says “k”, son goes away, wastes all money and, when there’s nothing left, he comes back home, begging his father to accept him as servant. However the father welcomes him with a huge celebration, kills the fatted calf and when the older son says “I can sense some favoritism here”, the father replies with: "you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours, but thy younger brother was lost and now he is found.", which is objectively very christian and very kind, but also a huge “maaaaybe there actually is some favoritism”.

Now, put Janus as the father and Virgil as the prodigal son. It works, even if I think the ending would have a tiny little difference: after welcoming Virgil back, Janus would probably break his kneecaps first, then kill the fatted calf.

Janus

* Roman reference: Janus is named after the Roman god Janus, who is a strictly Roman god, associated with all kind of changes (from birth to marriages, to deaths) and able to look into the past and into the future (hence the title Janus Bifrons). Also, he was called Pater, because unlike other Gods, he has always been. And this is also probably why he was such an important figure in the Roman pantheon.

* Biblical reference: Janus’ whole appearance is based on a snake and, of course, the most clear reference is to the snake in the Garden of Eden, the same snake who tempted Eve with the fruit of knowledge from the Tree.

Speaking of all of that, I would like to add a few interesting points:

1. The Tree wasn’t just a simple tree, but the “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil” and, according to Wikipedia:

“The phrase in Hebrew, טוֹב וָרָע ("tov wa-raʿ") literally translates as "good and evil". This may be an example of the type of figure of speech known as merism, a literary device that pairs opposite terms together in order to create a general meaning, so that the phrase "good and evil" would simply imply "everything".”

This is very interesting, because the tree isn’t just about discerning good from evil: it’s about everything, full knowledge. We will come back to the point of knowledge, so keep that in mind for now.

2. The Bible never fully specified the snake was the Devil. In Genesis, the snake is introduced as “more cunning than any of the creatures of the field that the LORD God had made”: so the snake is a normal creature, albeit a smart one.

But, as I found out later, in the New Testament Satan is called “the ancient serpent”, referring to the snake in the Genesis. So it’s because of this “secondary” connection that we identify the serpent in the garden of Eden with the Devil.

And so, Janus himself does, especially in his playlist: the religious references are all over the place and more than once he referred to himself as the devil.

3. According to the Genesis, the snake tricked Eve into breaking God’s commandment and eating the forbidden fruit, by saying: "then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.".

And this is what makes scholars still think a lot about the role played by the snake. Sure, eating the fruit was a transgression of God’s command, but it gave Adam and Eve something they did not have before. By eating the fruit, they became “like gods” - and this is why God expelled them from the Garden: they were too similar to him, the acquired knowledge.

And even though it’s never specified what “knowledge” truly is, the Genesis makes it clear that it is something extremely important, considering how heavy the punishment was.

And, despite their punishment, eating the fruit gave benefits to humans. Knowledge made them something more, compared to other creatures, something divine.

So the serpent was a trickster... but it also helped humankind to evolve into something more. It was bad and cunning, but its work made humans better.

And, well, I don’t know you, but it sounds like what the snake boy actually tries to do with Thomas: he’s a liar and a trickster and he keeps his plans close to his chest, but everything he does is still for Thomas’ sake.

* Religious reference: snakes have always played a very important role in ancient cultures all over the world (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, America, India and so on). The serpent was a symbol of power and chaos, but also fertility, life/immortality and healing. Serpents are curled around Hermes’ caduceus (today used as symbol of medicine) and, according to greek myths, people could acquire second sight if their eyes were licked by a snake.

Also, snakes are a common feature of many creation myths and they are also symbol of everything/eternal cycle/totality (like the Ouroboros).

So, well, the snake is an incredibly important figure in general, seen as both good and evil. A very great choice for the Sides who better represents this duality.

Remus

* Roman reference: Remus is the name of Romulus’ twin brother, founder of Rome. They were the sons of Mars (god of war) and Rhea Silvia (Vestal Virgin, descendant of Aeneas). They had a lot of adventures together, until the famous dispute about where to found their new city.

Romulus won and became the founder of Rome. Remus got killed and he basically disappeared from history.

* Biblical reference: Remus himself compared him and Roman as Cain and Abel. According to the Bible, they were the first sons of Adam and Eve after they were banished from the Garden of Eden. Wikipedia perfectly summarizes their story this way:

“Cain, the firstborn, was a farmer, and his brother Abel was a shepherd. The brothers made sacrifices to God, each of his own produce, but God favored Abel's sacrifice instead of Cain's. Cain then murdered Abel, whereupon God punished Cain by condemning him to a life of wandering.”

I can see why Remus specifically chose this story, by comparing him to Cain and Roman to Abel. Abel was loved by God, just like Roman is loved by Thomas. He’s way more loved than Remus, the other brother - who still offers his produce (aka his creative ideas) to his God/Thomas even if he’s not the loved one.

So do you see what these two stories (Romulus and Remus / Cain and Abel) have in common? That one brother was got more than the other. One was loved and got everything, the other was hated, ignored, left behind.

And that shows a huge self-awareness from Remus’ side. He knows too well he’s not the loved brother, he knows Roman will always be loved more than him.

So, well, take this awareness and use it as you please (:

i was thinkin abt a book i read a while back, i will always right back, abt two pen pals in two different continents and their relationship over the years up until they finally meet up n its like. huh. internet friends rly are just modern pen pals kinda. huh

anyways thing. ye. i may post the full thing someday but also im probably just gonna always add to it so. we'll see :)

if we ever meet up, you'd take me to your old home. if we ever meet up, i'd take you to a park long left behind as i grew and moved forward. something about you feels like nostalgia and childhood and home and i'd love to share those places with you, laugh and share memories from before each other that somehow feel shared. maybe you could bring a guitar and i'd borrow a ukulele and we could sing the songs you've showed me and some that you've written. i feel like i've known you forever.

aw yay !!! :DDD interpretation of music/art in general is something that can be so personal.... but as an artist you do not usually. hear your audience's interpretation of your stuff or have a personal relationship with them which. yeah. hopefully its cool. i love how art can mean so many different things and also sometimes it doesnt mean anything sometimes its just. beautiful <3

Got some autumn stuff to upload that’s by my friend, Nao, aka,   thebigblackdevil5 on DA! She used my autumn Jolyne model for this one!

“ It's like super late for autumn, but it's better than nothing, right? O: Anyways this my last autumn picture, it was pretty fun making pictures of my friend's models that they made the contest, again me and my friend enter the contest together which they did their part already but I took to long finish my picture for the fall X'D I'm not going to lie but the reason why I pick this model to do last was because well... I had some poses and ideas for a certain picture, but it which took me a while to figure out how I could do the pose and even get the background, but I figure it out! Originally this was piece was supposed be more of eerie-mystery picture, I kinda wanted it to be a album cover but when I was fixing up the pose I sorta changed my mind at the last minute and I gave it more a fairy-tale like scenery just like this better than my original~. Like I said, this was supposed to have a different story to yet where I mention the ''album cover" idea was well I have a idea for that which I will be explaining it right now... So basically the first idea I had in mind was that in the Jojo AU, Shanna id performing a shoot for a Fall theme album cover since she already had everything ready to go but in the day of her shoot, she came down with a terrible cold which made her bummed out since she was looking for to make the cover cool yet spooky; however, her daughter Jolyne decided to take over. At first she was undifferentiated about it since she was scared of messing up for her mother but after getting some advice from her done she did the cover. Yeah that was the originally idea but I changed like super last minute, like I had this really cute headcanon for the Jojo AU where like when Jolyne always loved the fashion her mom wear like her every day outfit, contest performance, or events, you name! Maybe as Jolyne got older she could do a little part time modeling for some new fashion week, since the influence of her mom made her love fashion, so maybe she gets a part time modeling job  and the modeling agents make her wear this beautiful kimono that is custom made so they use the photo in the magazine for the fall. So yeah that's pretty much what I had in mind but to be honest with you, I think I like the story where Jolyne was influenced by fashion by her mother was my favorite since I know in the canon she is implied she closer to her mom but I just image in the AU she is really to her parents but she's more closer to her mom and her dad...well we know how rocky their relationship is with her dad but they are trying to get along.. Anyways, yeah that's pretty much of it with the stories. (•_•) I lot of fun making piece, I added a lot of effects to make it stand little more than the other two that I made, to give more a bit of more of the 'fashion'' lighting to it, sorta like in those magazine where it's all glamourous, well I tried with the effects and I think I did a good job on them. :3 Also originally I was going to have Jolyne have her normal face expression but look little more curious, but I change her expression to be more surprised since I thought it mood better and I think it made her looks really cute too~. (╯▽╰ ) This was supposed to be done at the same time when I posted my Suzi Q fall theme picture, but I couldn't find the background until later on with my friend's help. I think I think I mention it but I really don't remember at all but I wanted to make her face more surprise-like in a way while she looks at the butterfly since I did say this was more of a fairy-tale like scenery so now you know. ＜（＾－＾）＞ I really did my best and I really did have a great time working on this, even though it took a whole to finish up but still.Uhh.... the title is meh to me but I think it's sorta good. :/</small? What types of fanworks do you create? I make drawings mostly! Making fanart is what drives me to be better at drawing actually I also write fics occasionally Ohh I don't know if this counts but I'm trying to make MBTI analysis for the characters I like

What are your favourite types of fanworks, when you’re not creating? I love reading fanfics!!! I actually don't look at fanart as much as I read fics 

What do you like in particular about this fandom? My favorite characters are Matt and Frank (they're also my fav ship in this fandom)! It's all in my head, but I always like to imagine how Frank's begrudging respect and Matt's weary relentlessness tether them together. I almost like the impossibility of it, how Frank doesn't think anything remotely like love would happen to him again, how Matt can't possibly imagine a happy ending with someone as bitter and different as Frank. I guess what I really want is to see a twisted relationship evolve into something like love when neither of them can believe that it can happen. But respectively, I'm starting to feel that Matt means a lot to me personally since I look up to him in many ways. I love how he turned all that darkness, pain, and suffering into his determination to protect, to do good in this world. He has this air of "I know who I am and I've figured myself out," but in reality when he faces his adversaries, he is challenged to face his own dark side again and again. He has been broken, beaten, backed into a corner, but he has never backed down. He never lets one bad day define who he is. I love how he comes out of these challenges (not without the help of those who love him!) being even more certain about who he is. I love how he is realistic but also hopelessly idealistic at the same time. Matt sees the world as an unfair one, but he does all he can to make it better, to protect the people in it. I see how he wants to be loved but is also afraid of that love, and I like that in S3 he finally learns that love is what steadies him and gives him strength to be who he is, that he should embrace it instead of running from it. Frank is so cool I love him ;_; ok in reality I can write a whole essay about why I like him but I think I've talked enough for now haha 

Do you like participating in fan events? I have never participated in any before! Mostly because these events have a deadline (despite probably a very lenient one), and I crumble under the stress of a deadline :/

What about your creating process? I like listening to music or actor interviews while I'm drawing...but I also rant to my friends every five minutes about 1) how much I hate drawing, 2) how painful it is, and 3) how much I suck at it lol

Do you interact a lot with other fans? YES I talk to my fandom friends on discord a lot!! (as crazydiamond#0100 ) I wish I get to talk to my fav writers more but I also fear that I'd scare them off with my overwhelming enthusiasm
