How many people were tested just for others anyway? Gordon's wife and daughter, Daniel (the wiki says it was also for shoplifting but he was 16 so I call bs), literally everyone except Lynn and her husband in Saw III, and my memory past 3 is fuzzy but that one lying author's wife comes straight to mind. They weren't being tested for whatever John pretended his survival of the fittest policy was they were terrorized tortured and/or killed for basically nothing but the pain of the target.

ITS TRUE AND WE SHOULD ALL SAY IT!!! Also, I wrote this little part last, bc I just wanted to give fair warning that I went blind into a rage and wrote threethousand words about how much I hate John Kramer, full of very terrible language and spoilers for Saw 1-6, because I go that fucking feral at the sound of his name, and I can’t make everyone scroll past that so I’m putting most of it under the cut, but even if you decide you justifiably fear that rant and don’t read it, just know you are incredibly valid, and John can eat shit and die. Rant start:

John did that bullshit constantly! He would over and over put 1 (one) man he personally wanted to watch suffer on trial and sacrifice /scores/ of people for no reason. No trap, no way to escape, at someone else’s mercy completely or maybe with 0 chance even there bc JOHN KRAMER IS A SACK OF SHIT.

He kills a house full of drug addicts in two, mostly just bc his wife worked w drug addicts and John hates drug addicts, and even though Amanda was in their literal exact same position she does jack shit to stop him and just watches people slowly have their organs deteriorate and start coughing up blood around her!! Including fucking Daniel! Who got an antidote but like, at the 11th hour. Do y’all even understand how biology works John and CO??? If you neutralize a poison after it has deteriorated parts of organs it might save your life but itS NOT A FUCKING HEALTH POTION. Poor Daniel Matthews probably will only live to be like forty tops if he’s super lucky because of that. And he did NOTHING!!! He had shoplifted bc he was going through a teen phase but he’s like sixteen! Everyone was dumb as shit as a teenager, and most people shoplift at some point in their life! It does not earn you slow deterioration of your organs! Poor kid not only watched a man burned to death in an oven, dude have his brains blown out, girl die of prolonged organ failure, and more shit, he himself /killed/ a man as a sixteen year old child to save Amanda Young because he’s got a good heart and is a good person, and that shit is awful! It’s traumatic to kill someone at any age, but as a teenager? And then he got knocked out by her and thrown in a tiny locked safe, tied up and gagged, and kept alive by an oxygen tank in an enclosed space after that massive trauma for or AT LEAST 24 HOURS ! He did NOTHING. It was all just a long-con sacrifice to get Eric Matthews to a specific location. Eric did some real shit, but god, even after everything Daniel did for Amanda and all John’s talk of innocents, neither of them ever even tell Eric he lived! Amanda just locks him up, fights, beats him to she thinks death, and then John keeps him locked up and isolated in a cell for months, only to make him choke himself slowly in a test he doesn’t actually get to participate in to keep a friend from being electrocuted. It’s all kinds of fucked.

Even Jeff did nothing worse than be depressed and obsessive and unavailable to his kid, all Lynn did was have a boyfriend after she and he separated (and tbh the only reason John took her was bc he wanted a doctor and hated her for being one of the docs who told him he had cancer bc John is a pettyass hypocritical stupid sack of shit!) I’m VIBRATING with hatred. Lynn was just a pawn in Amanda’s test! It never mattered if she kept John alive! It only mattered if Amanda decided to fucking shoot her!!! She did her task and died and JOHN KNEW THERE WAS A HIGH PROBABILITY AMANDA WOULD KILL HER AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT BC JOHN CARES ABOUT NO ONE BUT HIMSELF THE FUCKING WORTHLESS LITTLE WORM.

And the other victims in 3 are a poor college student who ran over someone on accident and feels massive guilt already and served jail time for it who gets his fucking limbs and then head all twisted off while begging for his life because JOHN KRAMER IS A PIECE OF SHIT AND SO IS JEFF TBH. BUT NOT AS BIG OF ONE. The poor girl who is stung up naked in a freezer and sprayed repeatedly with water till she is encased in ice and dead literally just saw the hit and run and ran away bc she was scared!!! Not to mention Jeff’s other kid who gets kidnapped and locked up as collateral! Even if she’s not hurt that’s FUCKING TRAUMATIZING FOR A YOUNG CHILD. And Allison Kerry did nothing wrong! Amanda kills her in the Angel trap literally just bc she’s investigating them! When he targets a detective John’s always like “Ho ho he, I am putting you on trial bc you are obsessed with your work” LIKE, BITCH NO SHE FUCKIN AINT SHE DOIN HER GODDAMN JOB AND U DON”T WANT TO GET CAUGHT YOU STUPID FUCKING WHORE I FUCKING HATE YOU SO MUCH THAT JUST LOOKING AT YOUR FACE CAUSES ME TO PRODUCE SO MUCH EXCESS EPINEPHRINE I COULD BOTTLE IT AND SAVE IT FOR LATER. I swear to god, if I had a grenade and I was in the room trapped with a still breathing John Kramer, I would kill pull the pin and take us both! FUCK I would pull the pin and then french kiss the grenade as thanks for letting me see that sack of shit go right to hell!

I don’t remember all of four bc it was really terrible, so I don’t have a lot of thoughts there except woof, but there was a lot of bullshit. Like John’s lawyer who did nothing but try to talk to him about finances enough it pissed John off got kidnapped, won his first game, and then got kidnapped again BC THAT SHIT HEAD SURE NEVER KEEPS EVEN HIS OWN GODDAMNED WORD and was made pawn in the game and then shot bc he didn’t have a chance to save himsefl!!!

In Saw one, also, again, Adam was never being tested. He was just a pawn too. It was Gordon who got to decide to kill him or not, and ADAM LIVED TO SIX OR WHENEVER THE FUCK THE TIME WAS AND JOHN STILL LEFT HIM TO DIE BECAUSE HE”S A HYPOCRITICAL PIECE OF SHIT!!!! And he’s not interesting enough for Johns MASSIVE brainshlong that obviously is so full of right ideas and enlightenment you MICROPENISEDtrulyIDIOTIC self-centered human garbage! He only took Adam at all bc he was there! He said the reason was Adam was pathetic! ADAM WAS DOING HIS BEST YOU CRUSTY ASS RED ROBED TURTLE LOOKIN MOTHERFUCKER. He was a freelance photographer in New Jersey in his early 20s during an economic collapse, and still nice enough to be taking care of stray cats you FUCKING sack of dogshit!

And Gordon? All he did was tell John he had cancer! He was cheating on his wife too, but like, the reason John picked him was that!!! HE THOUGHT!! GORDON SOUNDED TOO COLD WHEN HE TOLD HIM HE HAD CANCER I FUCKING HATE JOHN KRAMER SO MUCH. John Kramer really will see someone smile not as big a smile as he thought they should have given him and be like: “Yo, is anyone going to corkscrew their eyeballs off?” and not even wait for an answer. I fuuuuukning hate him. And that little shitface thought it was somehow chill to order someone else to kill Gordon’s wife and eight year old child who had done JACK SHIT wrong ever if Gordon wasn’t willing to brutally murder a kid in his early 20s who had done nothing wrong????! WHAT THE FUCK. Mr. KRamer.. QUICK QUESTION. WHAT. THE. FUCK. You self-righteous, self-centered, pretentious, pettyass, sadistic motherfucking goddamn worthless excuse for anything!

In five he’s finally dead so I can : ) once. BUT HE STILL FUCKS UP SHIT FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE. SO I’m STILL MAD. All the people Hoffman kills are ppl John told him to, so HE STILL MOTHERFUKIN RESPONSIBLE. In 5 it’s a bunch of people responsible kind of for deaths of people in a low-income neighborhood. One guy was paid to torch an abandoned building, and eight people died in the fire, but he didn’t know anyone was there and feels terrible. He thought it was vacant, it was just arson. Another is a journalist who found out about the arson, and didn’t break the story bc guy 1’s father bribed him. There’s a fire inspector who learned the truth and was bribed by the guy’s dad not to tell too. A city planner who was bribed into selling permits for the land. And Brit, who was the girl who paid for the arson, bc she wanted to make an apartment complex, and maybe actually knew about the 8 people and might have deserved some real payback–it’s unclear???? Regardless. I want to add that the cops had been investigating, had a strong case, and were about to arrest them and hold these people accountable in a legal manner, which John knew bc HOFFMAN WAS IN HIS POCKET, and John so hated the idea of them facing justice justice, he kidnapped them. The fire inspector got dragged into saw blades by her throat and torn apart, the journalist died to a nail bomb, and the city planner got electrocuted in a bathtub. The two who made it had their arms split down the middle up to the elbow to let enough blood out to save them. I cannot. Just.

Anyway. In six, again at DEAD JOHN WHO WON”T QUIT FUCKING EVERYTHING UP’s request, a ‘game’ is played and William Easton (one of my fave protagonists bc he’s a piece of shit but damn if he didn’t have a real glow up in forty-five minutes) is thrown into a hell circuit.

And so, undeservingly, is like, EVERYONE he fucking knows! His janitor Hank is first up. Target for…what was it? OHhhhhh right. He smokes. That was why. That makes so much sense john I’m sorry I doubted you PSYCH I CAN"T EVEN SAY IT AS A JOKE I JUST THREW UP A LITTLE IN MY MOUTH JOHN QUICK Q? WHAT THE FUCK? oh wait it’s because your an ABSOLUTE BASTARD. You would think I would get desensitized but no. It just. It’s fuel on the flame of my rage.

William Easton and the janitor, Hank, are hooked into something that slowly tightens and crushes their ribs any time they take a breath, and whoever doesn’t die first gets to live, and poor goddamn Hank smoked so ofc he can’t outlast a healthy dude in his 30s and John crushes his ribs just to make William watch someone die. Then he makes William pick which of two people to save in trial 2. MEANING HE GODDAMN STRAIGHT UP KIDNAPPED THESE TWO TOTALLY FINE WITH EITHER DYING, IN FACT WITH THE SOUL PURPOSE BEING TO DIE bc who cares about them right John? You fucking pretentious self-righteous creep! I have a year of the Pig teddy bear I named after Peter Strahm JUST for the FUCKING satisfaction of knowing John would hate that bc he was so into year of the motherfucking pig. ANyway. Plot again. Poor file clerk at Williams firm and the poor secretary are the two targets, and literally they did jack shit!!! They work for shitty lawyers but all they do is clock in to a 9-5 and file shit!! They are literally just there to rub it in William’s face that insurance policies aren’t fair bc according to them, one of the humans is worth more than the other bc health and age, but uuuuh oohhh William the older one with health issues is p hard to kill face to face bc you know her and she has kids and the young healthy man in his early 20s family is dead and he doesn’t have friends which means according to John he is worth less bc JOHN DOES THINK YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN LIVES and all of this is here just bc John somehow thought it would be fun to fucking WIN A GODDAMN “I’M RIGHT” ARGUMENT WITH A LAWYER at the expense of brutally hanging a human being with barbed wire!!!

Sidebar–if John Kramer was a real human being, I would go yearly on a fucking pilgrimage to his grave just to SPIT on his stupid corpse. I HATE HIM SO MUCH.

K so young man dies. Then test 3 his attorney dies too, I don’t know much about her, except she is just there to make William feel like shit and they were into each other, and she tries to kill William after he gets hurt trying to save her bc he has the key to her trap in his stomach or chest idr, but she doesn’t get the key in time and dies, and then test 4 he finds his associates strapped to a carousel with a shotgun that picks one at random and blows off their head, and has to let all but two of them get gunned down and choose which two not to kill. And again, they’re kind of shittyass lawyers, but uh. Yeah. To save two, he has to let this huge piece of metal rip through his hand, but William does it and destroys his hand to save the two he can, and suffers picking while they all beg him to pick them bc John wanted to see him suffer picking between human lives again because he’s a goddam self-centered stuck up jerk who vales human life less then admiring his ugly ass dick in the mirror every day and pretending he’s a member of Mensa, the evil utterly irredeemable sack of shit. Anyway, at the end, William has never had a chance to live or die at all! And John was literally just torturing him for fun and killed /all/ those people not even for a test for William but /solely/ to make him suffer bc human lives DON"T MATTER ONE FUCKING IOTA to JOHN SHITASS KRAMER. WHO JUST WANTED TO WIN. AN INTELLECTUAL ARGUMENT. POST-MORTEM. BECAUSE he’s THAT kind of shittyass, pretentious, sanctimonious, better than thou, always right, incapable of wrong, smartest fucking asshole in the room man!!! I bet he doesn’t ever wash his hands when he takes a piss! I KNOW IT! FUCK John Kramer!

ANd OH! William gets killed by a kid who hates him bc he turned down their father’s insurance policy fraudulently, knowing he would die of an illness without the money. BC William was terrible. Which is /so/ great for that fucking teenager! Killing someone horribly with acid while you watch them die and their body be melted! And they beg you not to do it and apologize on the other side of bars, already beat to shit, and plead for forgiveness, and your mom begs you not to, and the dude’s sister sobs and begs you not to!!! SO GOOD! Way to go john you FUCKING CUNT, they definitely value their lives now you goddamn motherfucking souless sack of shit!

I-I don’t even have the energy to do the other Saw movies or go back over the other victims in Saw one WHO DID NOTHING WRONG. John just hated them!!! BC HIS WIFE KNEW THEM! In most cases! John just fucking hates drug addicts! OK u know what here’s the short version even if I can’t do them justice rn bc I’m pissed!!! One guy got sliced to death on razor wire for cutting when he was depressed bc John is a piece of shit, one got burned to death after walking on glass for hours bc John doesn’t believe in invisible illnesses and if you’re walking you must be healthy, oh yeah! And the fucking dude Amanda killed in her first trial was just a drug addict! Going to a recovery clinic! He never had a chance to live on his own bc the only choice was if Amanda would cut open his intestines and sift through him for a key while he was awake but too drugged to move or not, and she did! Didn’t even get to plead for his life! ANyway!!!! Fucking as far as I can tell all Zep did was work at the goddamn hospital! He WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO BE NICE TO JOHN and told other people he was a cool dude!!! He was just a janitor!!! WHAT THE FUCK???

I just. God. I hate everything about John Kramer. The way he talks makes me so LIVID I change color like a goddamned chameleon. He is so ready to argue his stupid shitty fucking ethics with anyone who breathes in a ten mile radius. Shithead John over here will strap you to a table and make you listen to him talk about how it’s not his fault he poisoned two people and gave them one antidote and a bunch of knives and one of them came out dead, and his hands are clean and people don’t value their lives so they should die while he watches eating fucking cereal I am just–I am so glad John has cancer? Like, the idea of Saw sans John having cancer is unbearable, because I am so afraid the writers would never let him die and we would never be free of the human cancer that is John. The only human being on the planet that has ever been able to make me root for the cancer. But boy in that one and only regard, John is special.

I hate him so much it is unbelievable. Like. I can’t even put it into words. THe pure, unbridled fury I feel when I hear John say, “D’oh ho ho, but I, with these two little handies of mine, hath never pulled the gun’s trigger! Got you there! Where is your science! Where is your god! I am no murderer! I heal people! By sawing off their faces! You just do not understand, oh poor unenlightened human that you are. May you be strapped to a machete car and blessed with my wisdom 😔” I absolutely lose control of 90% of normal human functionality, and all that I have left is righteous justice and bloodlust. It’s unbelievable.

Whichever one of you god-mode-brain peeps made that post saying Eric Matthews had the hardest test in the whole Saw franchise because he had to sit and listen to John Kramer talk for two hours was a GODDAMNED HERO and if you contact me and prove the tumblr account is yours I will paypal you ten dollars and a personalized note thanking you for the joy that gave me because I just really hate John Kramer that FUCKING MUCH. I would cut off my own toes to be able to have something to shove down John Kramer’s throat to make him stop. talking.

There are a lot of things in this world I hate bc I hate things that are unjust, but I hate absolutely nothing more in the universe than a villain who is a self-righteous, hypocritical asshole who won’t even admit that what they are doing is wrong and parades as the tragic genius hero despite knowing GODDAMN well that they are a petty, shitty, hypocritical, absolute fucking MONSTER with no redeemable qualities or capacity for love. And John Kramer is at least my second least favorite character in the history of ANYTHING. Maybe my first. I’m not even sure anymore! Nasty-ass, evil, pretentious, self-righteous, shortsighted, selfish, sadistic, voyeuristic, willfully ignorant, crusty ass useless soulless garbage little SHIT.

So while I sit here trying to get normal balloon spawns...

I may as well write a blog. I am using a guide post on how to catch normal balloon spawns to try and get more cherry blossom recipes. Well I am only half using it.. I am camping on the beach waiting for normal balloon spawns instead of going there every 0/5 ending minute. I'll share the guide on here after this if I remember, but I already got one new cherry blossom recipe just by camping on the side of the beach that balloon spawns are coming from and ignoring the bunny day balloons, so I think this could work, too.

Anyway, now story mode is over, but I still have so, so much to do that it's not even funny. I am making it my main priority to save miles up to buy all the different paths and stuff. I think I have three left to buy so roughly 6,000 miles to earn. But saving miles means making less bells as Nook mile trips are where I made the most, I think. And now I can't take them because I have no miles/am saving miles and so I don't have the bells to pay off my house or to build a new bridge or any of the things I am saving for. But in part the fact it is harder to save bells just makes it feel like I have more to do and that is comforting in a way. I want the appeal of this game to last forever but I know my brain doesn't work like that. Still for now it's the best distraction I have and I'm grateful for it.

Having the ability to make paths is tough because it's just another million decisions to make and hope I get it right or can redo it better or whatever, so that Euphoria becomes the island I dreamed it could be. Right now I have a lot of dirt paths and I think they look okay. But I plan on redoing them someday with either custom paths or maybe just the arched tile ones... I like that path style. Still I started when I just had dirt so I just kind of kept going that way.

It looks alright, I think, especially at the entrance. I haven't finished a lot of the paths on either the right (residential) side or the left (wooded area/orchard) but I have mostly finished the center which is shops and such.

(So far I've gotten a normal balloon spawn every 5 minutes! So it works to just hang around the beach and then look for the spawns at every 0 and 5 ending minute. Edit: Aw, nope just didn't get that last one... I am probably doing something wrong then. Oops Edit2: Definitely doing something wrong. Didn't get a spawn again. Oh well I'll check the guide again once I finish this post. I am also watching for wishing stars so it won't be a total waste.. though I haven't seen any of those either. Last edit: Guide said spawns don't happen every time AND I just got another regular balloon, so maybe I'm fine? I hope I am not just wasting time.)

I am moving most of the houses before I do the paths on that side which is ANOTHER expense for sure, but after seeing a couple of my friend's islands, I knew I could make the houses probably a bit straighter and I decided I want them not quite as closer together as I want everyone to be able to have a yard. One of my friends has houses that are PIN straight and have little yards to them. I don't think I can accomplish that. But I do think I can space them out far enough to fence them in and have little yards.

So I started with the last to move in which was Marina. I put her in a space both by the beach, and by my house because even though she just moved in we're absolute besties. No but honestly, I love her. She sings like everywhere she goes and it's adorable.

I would move Beau next but I think he might stay close to where he is. Unfortunately if I have to move him a little bit I first have to move his house out of the way and then move it back because you can't move buildings just a tad, you have to find a whole new spot. This is why I had to move the whole museum to a new spot as it was slightly out of line and i couldn't just move it to where it lined up. I wish i had known this when i put things there. I didn't take care placing anything because I knew it could be moved. I only ASSUMED it could be moved a small amount as well especially since I assumed correctly that you were paying for it. But no, so oh well, now I have to come up with new spots for things, that's fine. Luckily both Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters I got in perfect alignment with resident services like I wanted to so they're all on one straight path.

Anyway, I hope I can get it looking like i want it to. I thought that decorating it how I wanted would be the hardest because I still need to find all the furniture. But the paths might give that a run for it's money when we talk about difficulty level if you include trying to get all the houses in the right position and such.

But as hard as I've been "working" (it's definitely still fun or I wouldn't do it) I have found plenty of time for play as well. Yesterday morning I visited a friend for her KK Slider concert. I luckily have a good group of friends from a discord I'm part of and a lot of them are from other countries so they experience stuff before I do and things like that. So a bunch of us visited her for her KK concert and we did some of that...

And then things got a little wild...

Lol, it was fun. I thought for a second about the state of the world but I didn't panic thankfully. I just saw a bunch of us coming together from across the globe, some of us in quaratine, almost all of us at least ADVISED not to go out unless necessary. The world is a scary place right now, but the fact we could still come together from across the globe to be silly and enjoy a game together makes me feel like everything might be alright. I mean, it would still be cool even if these things weren't going on, but the fact they are abd socialization is becoming more difficult than ever, it's cool to see an alternate means of that in action.

I can't believe I took no pictures of her super straight houses, ugh, if I go again, I will have to, they are literally perfect.

And the weirdest thing about all of this to me is how included i feel in all of this. We're all on a small AC discord together and it seems like a lot of them have maybe known each other a while. But unlike a lot of other places it doesn't feel cliquey to me. I've always been welcome to come to their islands, and they have always been very courteous when any of them have come to mine. They act as happy to see me as they do anyone else. And I've only known them a short time so it would usually feel strange to call them "friends" but it doesn't. Now obviously they could feel differently but if they do they don't show it. I am incredibly grateful to have found them. I really couldn't ask for a better group of people to play with.

I actually was invited from this tumblr. Likely after I made some kind of post about not feeling like I belonged in the AC community or something similarly emo and whiny, I'm sure. So I am surprised I was invited at all, but I am so thankful I was. It was just what i was looking for in the AC community.

(Yes! I learned cherry blossom umbrella! Balloon hunting is going fairly well considering I only had like two of the cherry blossom DIYs total before I started and now in about an hour I've doubled that.)

I do have some facebook friends and such I have play AC with, and I am also grateful for them as well of course. It has brought us closer together and I am thankful for that. I have one friend who we constantly send each other gifts like if we accidentally got two of something or a DIY we already have or just if we think something is cool, it's really fun. I enjoy mail as much in game as I do in real life.

But yeah, I was nervous when this game first came out that I would be stuck playing just with my sister. And don't get me wrong I love playing the game with her, we always have a good time. But sometimes you need socialization beyond your own family and I really saw this as my one chance to connect since I'm not very social, I am very anxious, and I just struggle with these things. I may have been right about it being my best chance at connection because I can hide a lot of the awkwardness in game. Very thankfully though, I found people who accept what I can't hide in game. And who accept me. For some reason that's just been really hard to do. Every community I am a part of I feel like an outsider until now. But yeah, I am looking forward to a continued friendship with these people and continuing to enjoy the game moving forward.

I guess I've rambled enough. I still need to get more balloons, but I can't write here forever. Though... I frequently do write far too much here and I wonder if it get read. If it doesn't I don't blame ya. But yeah. I will leave you with this adorable pic I took while Marina was singing... you can't really tell she was singing, but still, she's adorable either way.

Showtime, Chapter 2

(Because, somehow, I never posted 2.)

Night 1

The uniform was too big.

Liza ended up rolling up the pants to tuck them into her work boots and used a few spare pins to keep the sleeves of her button-up rolled up. The entire thing was a shade of blue, faded in the way a few hundred washes could only do. Over her heart was Ted Bear's Pizza, stitched in golden thread. (Which was weird, since none of the characters were yellow.) The worse part was the hat.

She could've just dropped the scarf. It wasn't like anyone was going to see her or the scars that arched across her forehead. But the very thought of losing her comfort item made her want to faint. So, she struggled for fifteen minutes to get the too-small hat to fit over the scarf before she glanced at the clock and gave it one last pull before booking it out the door.

She could take the hat off at the office.

Liza arrived at 11:40, right when the last of the cleaning crew was leaving. Mr. Calworth was waiting for her just inside the dining hall. "I forgot to mention yesterday- to save power, we use a generator during the night," he said, patting her shoulder. "I'll lock the door."

"Wait, but I'm supposed to-"

He was already out the door. "Lock up..." Liza raised a brow but decided to ignore the...shadiness of the entire thing.

She settled into the office easily, picking up the tablet that was apparently used to monitor the cameras. Liza hummed an absent tune as she flipped through the cameras. Ten, then twenty minutes passed before the clock showed 12:00. The lights shuddered as the restaurant switched from city to generator power.

The phone rang.

Liza let out a yelp, nearly falling over in the chair. She righted herself and grabbed the phone. Had Mr. Calworth forgotten to tell her something? "Hello-?"

"Hello, hello! Hey, I wanted to record a message for you, to help you out on your first night." Oh. It was a recording. Liza set the phone back into place. "Um, I actually worked in that office, finishing my last week. I know this job can get...overwhelming."

Liza scoffed. "It's watching a bunch of animatronics to make sure they don't get stolen." She returned to leaning back, flipping through the cameras. "How overwhelming can it get?" She stopped on the dining hall's cam, noticing something

"There's this company policy thing I have to read, so here we go. Welcome to Ted Bear's Pizza, a magical place for kids and smiles, blah, blah...Ted Bear's Pizza is not responsible for damage to property or person..." All the animatronics were staring at the camera. "Upon discovery that death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed in 90 days, or until the cleanup and bleaching is done." Liza stiffened, staring at the phone in horror.

What the fuck.

He continued on about some free-roam mode and servos locking up, Liza still stuck on the 'death has occurred' part. "Uh, they used to be able to free-roam during the day, but then the Bite of '85 happened. Then they got taken off free-roam a few years later, but a kid got too close a few years ago and the Bite of '05 happened."

What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck...

"The first kid died. I think the second kid was in a coma for a bit, but she survived after they stitched her brain back together. Amazing, right? Now, concerning your safety, the only real threat to you as a nightguard is that the animatronics will confuse you for an endoskeleton without a suit. That's against the rules here, so they'll try to stuff you into a suit. That wouldn't be so bad, except they're filled with machinery and stuff. Which can cause a little bit of discomfort...and death."

QUEMIERDAQUEMIERDAQUEMIERDAQUEMIERDA...

"Yeah, the only part of you that would likely see the light of day again is your eyeballs." There was a sardonic chuckle. Liza started to hit her head against the desk, resisting the urge to wail. "Yeah, they don't tell you this when they hire you. But, hey! The first day should be a breeze! Remember to conserve power, check your cameras, and use the doors only if absolutely necessary. Talk to you tomorrow!"

The recording ended. Liza peeled her face off the desk to grab the tablet. She paled at not only seeing that the power was already at 98% but the dog...Rex, that's right, was off-stage. He was standing in the center of the dining hall, staring at the camera with a cross look. She gulped, glancing at the remote.

She could figure out what the military-grade doors were for now.

There was a heartbeat.

It could feel it, all the way in the dark. It hummed absently. It was too hard to choose during the day, it distracted from the adults by the lovely, glowing heartbeats of the children. It was forced to choose during the night, with only one type to choose from.

Talk about slim pickings.

It reached out for the heartbeat-

Oh.

Cruel irony. Too cruel for this world, but not cruel enough for this family tragedy. It could feel its Other shift, recognizing the familial bond. It pulled away to soothe before returning to the feeling of the heart.

The choice was cruel. But it didn't have a choice.

It had been too choosy in the past. He had been too choosy.

Cruel irony could wait.

When Liza decided to try the east hall light and saw Rex's leering face, she let out a scream and jabbed the button for the east door hard enough that she was sure for a minute that she had broken her finger.

She sat there panting for a minute. Tio Rafael was right, I need to cut down on la cafeína. She glanced at the tablet to see the battery had dropped from 96 to 85- crap, she still had the door down. Liza peered through the door’s window. The lack of Rex meant she could probably open the door.

She glanced through the cameras to see the trio's guitarist, Kitty-Cat, was gone. The camera in the kitchen lacked a picture, but it did have audio. She could hear the crash of pots and pans. When she glanced at the Parts and Services room, Rex was glaring at the camera.

"Buen perro. Quédate ahí."

She stopped at Treasure Cavern's camera, noticing that the curtain was twitching. Eventually, it moved to reveal Captain Bun. Liza raised a brow at the bunny's position. The animatronic looked tense like it was preparing to-

No.

"No, no, no," Liza hissed, trying to figure out which hallway. Her tablet choked for death. "No te atrevas!"

Bun took off. The woman froze, realizing she could hear the bunny coming. She sprang for the remote, slamming the west door button. It slammed down right when Bun was at the doorway. Liza let out a sigh of relief, glancing at her watch. It was 2. Huh, time ran fast when you were fighting for your life-

Bang.

BANG!

BANGBANGBANGBANGBANG-

It sounded like Bun was trying to break down the door. Liza took a chance and checked the east light. She was forced to push the east door button when she saw Kitty. It felt like an eternity before the banging stopped and she heard Bun run away. It took a little longer before she heard Kitty limp away.

74%.

This tablet was a traitor, she decided. A horrible traitor. Un horrible, horrible pedazo de mierda bastardo. She was calling Tio Rafael after her shift to demand what he and Tio Vincent were thinking when they were making these things. Then she was quitting.

The hours slipped away as she fended off Rex, Kitty, and Bun. Strangely, Ted himself hadn't come by yet, even though he was clearly off-stage. As the hours passed, it seemed like they were getting discouraged. It was 5:50 AM when the pedazo de mierda that called itself a tablet was at 5%. She whimpered as it fell to 4, 3, 2...

It was exactly 5:59 when it hit 0.

The doors slid up. The lights died. The horrible, horrible pedazo de mierda bastardo went dark. Liza sat frozen in the dark, dead silence. She covered her mouth when she heard heavy footsteps, trying to stifle her breathing. A music box was playing- sickeningly, she recognized the tune. It was a lullaby that her family sang to each other. She resisted a hysterical giggle.

Before she could think of some type of escape plan, the footsteps stopped at the door. She looked up to meet Ted Bear's brown eyes. She could recognize Tío Vincent's eyes in the brown glass orbs. This time, she didn't resist the hysterical giggle.

A hand reached for her...

The lights flipped on. Liza let out a squawk, closing her eyes. When she peeled them open, Ted had stepped back. Was it just her or did he look frustrated? She didn't have time to take in his expression, because he turned and walked away. She grabbed the tablet and let out a cheer when it came to life. She watched through the cameras as the animatronics returned to the stage.

It took a good ten minutes before Liza could manage her way out. She was forced to pass through the dining hall, stopping to consider the bots on-stage.

There, they looked perfectly innocent. Nope, nothing weird here at all, no siree.

They could buy steel bombproof doors, but not a technician to reprogram these things?

Tomorrow, she was going to call Mr. Calworth and try and quit. She shot out of the restaurant with that thought, heading to her car. She tried to start it. One look at the dash and the arrow pointing to the E and Liza let her head thunk against the wheel.

One more day couldn't hurt. She could try and call the recording guy back.

One more day, and then she'll quit.

What kind of mental illness(es) do you think the Goblin Slayer is dealing with? I'm not extremely knowledgeable on the character but I do find him cool and interesting.

This got kinda long so I’m gonna put it under the cut! There are also some minor Goblin Slayer spoilers, too, but I still keep it vague. I have a tl;dr at the bottom for anyone who wants to avoid spoilers or a lot of reading.

Someone in the replies compared him to Guts, and while that’s a good comparison to make in a lot of senses, there’s a big difference; Guts’ mental issues are all trauma. Nothing from way back when really jumps at me as being anything but issues with trauma, which have actually managed to be toned down as of late thanks to a support network of close friends.

Goblin Slayer (Orcbolg), on the other hand, is prrrrobably some kind of autistic even before his traumatic event. This isn’t just me Reaching to make a character autistic like a lot of Tumblr likes to do -- there’s some real implication there, intended or not.

For anyone who doesn’t have a mental illness in my audience and anyone who does have a mental illness in my audience, I pose this question to y’all: If you were like, 10-13 and your childhood friend was going to leave town, would you be sad or angry? Would you be upset on your own or would you yell at them?

I’m a high-functioning autistic weirdboy myself, and if I was rewound mentally back to being 10-13 and my best friend was gonna move, I’d be pissed. I wouldn’t understand. And that’s exactly the way Orcbolg threw down with his childhood friend when she told him that she was leaving -- she even expected him to ask to come with, or ask for a present. Instead, he started yelling.

That’s not, like...a thing you see people who aren’t mentally ill, at least at that point in their life, do very often. Maybe when you’re really REALLY young, but Orcbolg is probably like, ten-to-thirteen years old here (although I know that anime characters have very nebulous ages at the best of times) and that’s usually old enough to understand that yelling at your friend because they’re moving means...literally nothing.

And then you have the Big Trauma of, you know...his village getting raided by goblins and him being forced to hide away while his older sister gets raped and killed in front of him, all the while he’s hiding away, doing nothing. He didn’t even seem to completely gather she’d been killed, just saying “Onee-chan was not Onee-chan anymore.”

Now the event itself clearly completely broke him, because the first thing he decided to do after leaving his hidey hole was eat dirt.

Yeah, really.

Any chance of him recovering mentally was completely quashed by the thing that taught him to fight, who trained him using guilt, torture and devaluing him constantly, using that to encourage him to get stronger and in turn fueling his newfound mental problems, leading to the man he is today.

The signs are easy to see in how he is today, too. He’s obsessive, genuinely antisocial (not Kirito antisocial where all he does is mope in the rain alone sometimes -- as in like, “one or two word answers to everything to reduce how much time he has to talk to people” antisocial), extreme hyperfixation on what he does (Him talking about goblins all the time isn’t a joke. Him talking about goblins are literally the longest sentences he has while speaking with other characters) and a real lack of understanding and interest in anything outside of his area of expertise, like when he confronted the Ogre and the first words out of his mouth were “You’re not a goblin?”

I wouldn’t even say he has Guts-tier PTSD, although he probably has some of it. He actively compares himself to a goblin several times, considering himself to be a goblin to the goblins themselves. If I had to pin anything else down on him, I’d say he probably has a thing with sex and attraction.

He has a ‘harem’ in the loosest form (in that it is made up of 2 people who like him a lot, 2 that like him as a friend and 1 that likes him romantically but hovers so far outside his friend group she’s not even really a part of it), but unlike a lot of Chaste Anime Boys from harems there’s no embarrassment or sense of Dignity or even outright obliviousness. He’s fully aware and just...doesn’t reciprocate. At one point there’s a spell that requires him to basically be asleep and have a virgin sleep next to him, and he has absolutely 0 response to it when he wakes up, even while she’s panicking and getting flustered.

If I had to take a guess why, I’d imagine your first real interaction with ‘sex’ as a concept being having to watch a bunch of monsters rape your sister would probably warp it a lot, kind of like how for the longest time Guts had a thing about being touched because of his own experiences with rape.

tl;dr Goblin Slayer is a really interesting character and more than likely was autistic at a young age, eventually spiraling into a sort of single-minded ball of antisocial mental illness due to trauma and a brutal training regiment.

WWE Monday Night Raw 8/12/19 Review

Seth Rollins Promo: He came out in normal clothes, which immediately worried me. He talked about how he wasn’t sure if he would win at summerslam, and he put Lesnar over a bit. He talked about how the crowd fueled him through the match. He only won with the love from the crowd, which sounds corny but it was a pretty good line in my opinion. AJ Styles then came out to interrupt, with the OC in tow. They congratulated Rollins on winning his match, and threw his hat in the ring for title contention. He challenged Rollins to a match tonight, to prove that he is a better champion. Rollins told him that all his respect for Styles is gone. He then accepted the challenge. Styles then extended a hand for a shake. Rollins refused, and Styles called him scared as he let the ring. Tensions were high.

Grade: C+. Started out pretty good, but I felt that Styles didn’t really make sense to throw his hat in the ring. He has his own thing in the midcard. If you want him to go in the main event, then give him a real reason. He should be allowed to compete in the midcard. If you want him to move up, then he can win a multi man match for #1 contendership while still being the champion, and then lose the belt. There are better ways to emphasize your top stars that to screw over the midcard.

Street Profits Backstage: They put the show over, but Dawkins was tired and dehydrated. Sami Zayn then came up to give advice. He told them that the crowd will suck the soul right out of them. He said that everyone flames out, and the fans don’t care anymore. He started to talk about Samoa Joe as an example, but Joe was behind him. Joe then challenged him to a match, and I think Joe turned face. He shoved Zayn into the crates and walked away.

Before we came back, they talked about how the King of the Ring is back for 2019. That’s actually pretty exciting, but I don’t know what the stakes are. I will make a separate post for predictions and my thoughts on the tournament at large, so watch out for that.

Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe: I am pretty confused about Joe’s character at the moment, but maybe this match will help me with that. Zayn attacked before the bell, and Joe totally destroyed him after that. He put him on the mat with some power moves and strikes before choking him out for the win.

Then he got on the mic. He talked about how he was still pissed about how people accused him of attacking Roman. He said that he won’t forgive anyone in the crowd for all the hate.

Grade: B-. Inoffensive squash, and they clarified that he is still a heel. Double wammy.

Dolph Ziggler vs. the Miz: Miz was wearing a new shirt, saying Toronto is Awesome, which is a nice babyface touch. Ziggler came out in normal clothes. I think he had a Kabuki Warriors shirt on, but I don’t really know. Ziggler then got on the mic and called Miz a coward. He complained about how wasn’t cleared to compete. He said that Miz screwed Miz. After saying that it was too bad that he wouldn’t have the match, he beat the crap out of him. He beat him down as they cut to commercial.

When we came back, they were in the middle of the match. Ziggler was competing in jeans, so there was that. Right when we came back, Miz started to take the advantage. As Miz was delivering Yes Kicks to Ziggler, Graves compared him to a man who can walk away from a horrific car accident, which was so weird. Ziggler then nailed a Zig Zag, but Miz somehow kicked out. It seems like they are moving that down to a signature rather than a finisher. Ziggler then went for a superkick, but Miz caught his leg and put Ziggler in the figure four and won the match.

Afterwards, Ziggler got on the mic and said that he was a coward. He told Miz to finish him off, and as he was talking, Miz nailed a Skull Crushing Finale.

Grade: C+. A watered down and less awesome version of what happened at Summerslam with Goldberg. Ziggler’s new “I have more pride than is good for me” gimmick is going to get old, unless it was legends kicking his ass on pay per view. But the match was okay, although I know they can do much better.

Becky Lynch Interview: Becky immediately grabbed the mic and talked about how she wanted her next challenger. She said that she just beat Nattie, but she isn’t going to rest. She wants to kick the next person’s ass.

Elias Concert: He talked about how he knows someone will interrupt him, and he wants them to come out right now. That way it is right out of the way. He counted down a couple times, but no one came out. “I’m begging you, please don’t change the channel,”- Corey Graves. Nice call. Then Ricochet came out with a mic right as he was about to start. They both called each other lame, and Elias challenged Ricochet to a match.

We went right from that into Ricochet vs. Elias, where they started out with a quick pace. They delivered a lot of high impact moves right away, but then they went back into rest holds. At one point, the two botched some sort of move, and the crowd seemed to turn against it quick. Ricochet then threw Elias out of the ring, but when he went for a suicide dive, Elias dodged and Ricochet landed right on his back. The two then battled in the ring, and Ricochet won with a sunset flip into a pinning predicament. Elias had his shoulder up, but the ref called for the bell anyway.

Grade: D+. Jeez this was rough. Two botches and a horrific bump. This was a very unpolished match that did not showcase the strengths of either guy. They are much better than this.

Andrade vs. Rey Mysterio, 2 out of 3 falls: the match started right away, with a stiff shot from Andrade. He went for a powerbomb, but Mysterio countered to set up the 619, but Zelina Vega tripped him up on the outside. Andrade then rolled him up, and Vega held his feet on the ropes to win the first fall.

They started the second fall, and Mysterio quickly gave Andrade a rana to the outside, which looked pretty rough. Mysterio then continued the offense, hitting a slingshot powerbomb which looked like he planted Andrade on his head. Once again when Mysterio went for a 619, Vega distracted him and he didn’t get it. But after a third set up, he nailed the 619. Still, Andrade got his knees up and hit the hammerlock DDT for the win.

Grade: C+. Another fine match. I liked that Andrade got a 2-0 victory, way to put over new talent. I don’t know what they will do with that, but it was a huge victory. Good on them, but not their best match.

Steve Austin interview: Austin talked about how Rollins had a whole bunch of heart to get his win at Summerslam. He put Rollins over. Then he put over his own show. Shameless plug here.

Rey Mysterio Interview: He talked about how frustrated he was losing two falls in a row. He seemed like he was about to cry, and muttered about his family. Interesting, not sure where this is going at all.

Street Profits Backstage Again: Montez Ford told Mysterio to keep his head up, and gave him some encouragement. Ford then woke Dawkins up, and hyped up the Women’s Tag Team Championship match, and Cedric Alexander vs. Drew McIntyre. But Dawkins was too thirsty to help him, so Ford walked away. Funny, but they need to do something soon.

Drew McIntyre interview: he talked about how he was going to end Alexander, and their rivalry in the match. He called Alexander’s run a fairytale. He said that he was going to cave his skull in and end the rivalry once and for all.

Cedric Alexander vs. Drew McIntyre: the two started right away with some nice striking, and Alexander flying right away. He nailed McIntyre with a tope con hilo, but McIntyre fought back into it. While Alexander was up on the top rope, McIntyre grabbed him in a crucifix, and then gave him a high angle buckle bomb that looked hard to take. McIntyre took control from there, absolutely tossing Cedric all around the ring. At one point, the two were on the top rope, and McIntyre nailed Alexander with a sidewalk slam off the top for a near fall. The two started to fight on the outside, where Alexander pushed Mcintyre into the post, and then hit the lumbar check on the outside. The two were nearly counted out, but Alexander slid back in and attempted a suicide dive. But McIntyre caught him out of the dive and gave him a rough belly to belly onto the ring steps. The two then fought back into the ring, again on the top rope, but this time Alexander delivered a top rope spanish fly for a near fall. That brought the crowd alive, Mcintyre went for the inverted Alabama Slam, but Cedric countered into a rollup. McIntyre kicked out, and the two ran the ropes, only for McIntyre to decimate Alexander with a Claymore for the win.

Grade: B+. Really good stuff between these two. They showcased a great clash of styles match, as well as showing McIntyre’s agility as they did so. Cedric sold just as well as he always does, and was a really good underdog here. He was smart enough to get the advantage several times, and he knew what he had to do to win. Any of those rollups could have been it, and Cedric knew that. McIntyre was a great bully here, and actually seemed to respect Alexander a bit. Really good stuff between these guys, I knew that they could put something like this together. Match of the night.

The OC Backstage: the group were talking about how Rollins beat the odds when he beat Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. Gallows and Anderson then said that not even Styles could do that, to which Styles responded that he only had one chance to beat him. Then he just talked about how he would win the champion vs. champion match later on.

No Way Jose vs. Robert Roode: a bit of an odd match. I’m not really sure why they are having it. The two started with a lock up, before Roode pushed Jose back into the corner and wailed on him with strikes and kicks. Jose was being beaten for most of the match, before Roode won with a Glorious DDT.

Grade: B-. Inoffensive squash. Cool to see some underutilized stars get TV time.

Paul Heyman Interview: Heyman talked about how Lesnar is not allowed any rematches against Rollins. He was so pissed off that he couldn’t even get the words out. Then he walked back into Lesnar’s locker room. Interesting.

The Lucha House Party vs. The Revival: This was an incredibly fast paced match right from the start. The Revival gained the advantage after forcing Lince Durado to the mat, but as they were fighting, R-Truth and the 24/7 guys ran down to the ring. The bell rang, and the Lucha House Party started to dive onto everyone around ringside. The Revival hit Truth with a Hart Attack, and pinned him together to become co-champions. However, Kalisto then ran in and hit a Salida del Sol on Dawson, only for Wilder to break it up. Carmella then pulled a half conscious Truth onto Dawson to win the belt back, and the two ran away. Backstage, Carmella and Truth were celebrating when Elias walked up and smashed Truth in the back with his guitar, and stole the championship in the process.

Grade: C+. I was actually into having co-champions for a while, but it is clear that Truth is their guy for this belt. Anyway, this was fine. Nothing too exciting.

Natalya promo: Nattie came out with her arm in a sling, which was a nice touch. Still selling a beating from a night ago is pretty smart. The crowd was chanting “you tapped out.” She said that although she lost, she won’t take back anything that she said. She wants to fight Becky Lynch again, but she will earn it before she does. Then she talked about her dad, Jim Neidhart, but as she started to talk, Sasha fucking Banks returned to interrupt. She seemed pretty genuinely happy to be back, and she gave Nattie a hug, but then sucker punched her and tore off a purple wig that she had on. She started to beat the crap out of Natalya, even tearing off her sling. The crowd was absolutely loving it, and everyone remembered how great of a heel Banks is. She even grabbed a chair, but as she was about to use it, Becky Lynch ran out for the save. The two brawled in the middle of the ring, with Banks coming out on top. She wailed on Lynch with the chair, and it looked incredibly painful. Eventually, some refs came by and broke everything up, but the damage was done. Looks like we have a challenger for the Raw Women’s Championship, and someone who can actually win it at that.

Grade: B+. What a return! I have wanted heel Sasha for years, although I always wanted her to turn on Bayley. This is perfect though. A brutal assault to bring back one of the best heels in the women’s division. Welcome back Banks, thank you for saving the women’s division and keeping things interesting.

Viking Raiders Squash: before the match, the Viking Raiders cut a promo about how they will destroy anyone in their way, and the tag division will kneel before them. Naturally, the Raiders messed up the poor jobbers. At one point, Erik gave one jobber a huge uranagi onto the back of the other. The two were about to win at one point, but Erik pulled his shoulders off the mat, and they gave him the Viking Experience for the win.

Grade: B-. Always entertaining squash.

Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss Interview: The two talked about their upcoming title defense against The Kabuki Warriors. They were actually being really nice to each other, so I guess Bliss has turned face. I don’t know where this is going, but they better hate each other eventually.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: So, then during this match, Corey Graves was talking about how much he loves Bliss and Cross now, so I have no idea if they are face or heel. The Kabuki warriors had the advantage early on, running roughshod over the champions and completely annihilating them. The heels didn’t really get the advantage back until Bliss got a blind tag on Cross. At one point, Nikki was about to be hit by the Insane Elbow, but Cross rolled to the outside. Sane nailed her with a crossbody to the outside. Sane then rolled her back in for the Insane elbow, but Bliss broke it up. Asuka then tried to take out Bliss, but Bliss ducked a kick that landed on the ringpost, taking Asuka out. In the finish, Cross nailed Sane with a swinging neckbreaker and then Bliss finished it off with Twisted Bliss.

Grade: B-. This was a fine match, nothing too special. I hope that the Kabuki Warriors actually get some TV time, because they are a great team that deserve some more time. Bliss and Cross look strong, so that is good. These titles will need a lot of help to be built back up to the level they were once at, but they can do it with some time and patience.

AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins: Rollins still had heavily taped ribs, but Rollins actually assaulted Styles’ ribs to start the match off. Early on in the match, Rollins opted to take out the rest of the OC on the outside, but that distraction only allowed Styles to attack the ribs more. At one point, Styles even went for the Styles clash on the apron, but Rollins slipped out and swept Style’s leg out from under him. When the two got back in the ring, they started to transition into heavy hitting strikes. At one point, Rollins tried for a reverse superplex, but AJ pushed him off. He then tried for a phenomenal forearm, but Rollins ducked it and nailed a superkick. He then went for the frog splash, but Anderson distracted the ref while Gallows pushed Rollins off the top rope. The two were then banned from ringside, but they just ran in and caused a disqualification instead. Ricochet then ran out to Rollins’ aid, but it didn’t help him much. The OC was about to give Rollins a Styles Clash from the middle rope when Braun Strowman ran out and decimated all of the heels, giving Styles a spinning powerslam, followed by a running powerslam. After the OC retreated, Strowman grabbed Rollins’ Universal Championship and handed it to him, but not before eyeing it a bit. The faces then stood tall together to close out the show.

Grade: B. A pretty good match with a fun brawl to close everything out, plus Braun Strowman looked pretty strong in the process. This was a good look at what the top of the card on Raw should be. Get the US championship out of the mix, and these four guys could easily carry the show a bit. Give some lower down guys the US Championship, like maybe Cedric Alexander. Throw Bray Wyatt and Drew McIntyre in towards the top, and you have yourself a strong main event scene. This final stretch gives me some hope that maybe we will have some improvements on WWE going forward. Things seem to be looking up.

It's kind of time-tested things or what works and what's most effective. And that time management process, she in training is

Joe Jackson, uh, Joe Jackson, that said, I liked the lesson to start planning ahead for after your career, because you never know when it could end, like he found out when he had to battle cancer. That's correct. Right. I think the thing that is most difficult for players to come to terms with, or to grasp is whether you have a 13 year career or a three-day career or no career, like almost a career, your career will end eventually one day. So, uh, the practical thing to do would be in your free time, cause you got a lot of it or your extra time, uh, spend some of it and by span, I mean invest some of that in planning for post-career. What do you want to do? What, what, what interests you, what, what industry would you like to be part of, uh, would you like to stay in soccer? Um, if so, how can you stay close to the game, um, who are people you can connect with along the way that can help you in that process and how can you, how can you develop skill sets so that you can, you can be a value add to the game and the community for, for a long time, not just, um, someone who's taking advantage of the current situation. Right.

All right. Sounds good. So my name is Hannah. Um, I'm originally from Maryland, right, right out of DC. So I've followed DC United growing up. Um, big fan there. I'm in North Carolina now for college go to Campbell university, uh, junior. So that's what life is looking like right now. I do club soccer here, president, you know, get all that figured out for women's team. Yeah,

No, I'm okay. I love that. So, um, okay. So how long have you been following the perfect soccer brand for? Like how did you find out about us and what made you follow?

Um, well, so, okay. I originally met you after the game against LA galaxy at Aldi field. And I was like, okay, this guy's pretty cool. Right. Um, did a little bit of looking into it. I really been following the brand for about a little over a year now. Uh, really like last December is when I really got into the brand. So awhile,

I like that. Okay. So what's what stood out most to you. What have you, what is, what's your biggest takeaway from everything so far in,

Quincy Amarikwa (00:18:15):

Um, one of my big takeaways, like you said, um, is taking responsibility for where you're at at this moment, whether it's your fault or not, and owning where you're at and making that plan to get where you want to be. That one's huge for me because, you know, especially with COVID and everything, everyone's in a different place than what they expected. And it's not always that person's fault, but it's your job to get to a better place.

Quincy Amarikwa (00:18:43):

Okay. I love okay. I love that. That's that that's an MSL mindset you're coming at us with right now. Okay. So, all right. So speaking to that, where, where is it that you want to go? What's your goal? Where, what, what are you shooting for and um, what do you think you are needing to do to get there

Quincy Amarikwa (00:19:04):

Right now? Um, like I said, I'm in college, I'm majoring in special education. And my big goal right now is to get my licensure and start teaching. And of course COVID knock that out, mess things up. Cause we can't be in schools. We can't student teach. So for me, it's really the big plan of working on what I can do to still be involved with schools. What I can do to pass all my licensure tests, how I need to study, how I need to take responsibility for what I'm going to do and what I'm going to put forward to get where I need to be.

Quincy Amarikwa (00:19:38):

I love that. So. Okay. So, uh, I like that. We're gonna, we'll probably revisit that. Right. So I wanna, I wanna tie it into, uh, the question we had thrown out on the account, um, which was his missing underrated, right. To which you had answered yourself. Right. And okay. And why is, so why is that? You gotta, you gotta state your case, uh, share with us in the audience. Me, why, why you believe that's the case and, and, um, what, what your plan is, uh, to, to, to make that no longer the case in the future.

Quincy Amarikwa (00:20:18):

So I actually, when we get those little questions, you know, every week, every couple of days, whatever, I put some thought into them before I answer it. And I was like, you know, who's the most underrated, you know, women's soccer player right now. And originally when you think underrated, your mind goes to skill level first, because you think a good player is just skill and that's not trauma. Like, you know what, you can be underrated in the mindset and the vision that you bring to your team. And I feel like that's what I bring to my team. Not only just on the field, but to the people around me, I'm like, I have that ML, NFL mindset, like, you know, given the pep talks, letting people, helping people get to their goals and like sharing that wisdom that we learned from the show every week. It's like, I'm not just underrated on the field and what I can do with the ball. It's who I am, what I'm doing, what I'm saying, what I'm putting forth.

Quincy Amarikwa (00:21:08):

I like that that's confidence. And you're not able to say some stuff like that unless you're really doing the work, uh, when nobody's looking right. So, okay. I like that. And that's why when I, when I saw that answer, come in, I said, okay, we need to, let's see, let's see if she's about that action or if, or where she's at on that. So what do you, what do you feel is your, your biggest attribute? You know, you said, um, underrated, mentally, right. Mentality is something that's hard to see necessarily maybe in the short term, but results speak for itself over time. Right. But, uh, that, that takes time and it, sometimes it takes a real long time for people to see. Um, and a lot of people give up along the way. So what, what do you feel is unique uniquely? Um, what's unique to you? What's, what's that skillset what's that what's, that I'm losing, I'm not speaking the right word, but like to you, what, what do you define that to be for yourself? What is that

Quincy Amarikwa (00:22:08):

For me? I think I have, or I know I have good long-term planning and long-term vision, so I'm not just going to do what's good for me and my team in the moment I'm going to look forward at what, where we need to get and the steps to get there longterm.

Quincy Amarikwa (00:22:25):

Okay. And have you always had that skill set as that's something you've been developing over time? Like when, when did you really start leaning into that?

Quincy Amarikwa (00:22:35):

Um, I think I've always been good at looking ahead, but really the past, the past year with COVID, um, and not being able to do everything as we've always done and looking forward. So you know, where we want to be eventually playing games again and you know, what skill level we're going to need to be at and just how we're going to get there. Um, COVID has really helped me with all that planning and figuring out, you know, everything doesn't look right now, how we want it to look, but if we can create a vision for the future and a goal, we can work on getting there,

Quincy Amarikwa (00:23:10):

I like that. Okay. That's good. Cause I was talking with Serena about that in terms of like needing more needing to do a better job. Uh, so we talk about it, right? Self honesty for me when I'm reflecting on stuff, I go, okay, I need to be doing a better job of, of the community outreach of managing that. I think when, when I was first starting out and building the brand, you kind of, you do everything, uh, your, your customer support, your customer, your, your, your follow-up, your, you know, you're the janitor, you're cleaning things, you're technical, all of that. Um, but as you start to grow, you got to recognize when you got to delegate and elevate, right. And, and you guys know the core value here. Teamwork makes the dream work. So I liked that and I, we are going to make that happen. So I, 100% want to get you onboarded as an intern and in the community outreach department and division. So, um, yeah, no, I liked that. Um, it seems like the MLS PA uh, learn their lesson from the last, the, the original CBA signing that, but not ratifying it before the league ultimately backed out. And then through in their force majeure clause and a bunch of other little things that wouldn't have necessarily, uh, gotten passed, had it not been for the lack of the ratification of the CVA, which just means like, making it official, like, uh, you know, crossing all the T's dotted, all the I's. Um, This one seemed like the deal got done and ratified within like 48 hours. So,

Uh, the league has spent a lot of time, effort and energy, uh, marketing and pushing the message that it is an inclusive, diverse league. And, um, you know, really hangs their hat on that, but the data doesn't necessarily substantiate that. So I think it's important that, you know, the mechanisms are put in place to hold, hold the league accountable for all the things that it, that it makes public statements of and knowing that, you know, knowing that it takes time to actually execute on those things. So let's say you're, you have really good, long dirt, long, uh, long distance endurance. So you have really high stamina and you show up and you see, they really need sprinters. Don't change your game from a long stamina person to trying to sprint on that day, do what you're good at and what you do, because you might not get your opportunity there. But someone there might see your quality as a long-term endurance, stamina, sprinter, and speak highly of you for your next opportunity, as opposed to, if you jump ship and try to be a sprinter and you, that's not what you're optimized for. That's not what you're good at. You'll look bad as a spiritual you'll be thought of as a sprinter. And now maybe those other connections and people aren't even making like there, a lot of this is a lot of the game is how people perceive you and how they speak about you to others.

So if they see you on the day and you have a horrible session and you don't do well and you didn't do well, not because you're not a good player, but because you, you know, you started playing, you started trying to play to the moment. Well, you know, people who don't know, you might not give you that benefit of doubt and might not see that. So if someone else asks about you, they only have that frame of reference to speak about you and really quickly your brand and your name and your opportunities can become a non-existent. So that would be my advice,

Um, John said, how's the club search going for 20, 21, to be honest, uh, I haven't been going full on it yet, mainly because there wasn't any like set date. And usually because there's no one, there's no set date, a lot of clubs and organizations are just kind of like spinning their wheels in limbo because they're not going to give you any definitive answers because they don't have one. I'm not saying like that's the best or the smartest way to go about doing it, but Hey, everyone has their own way of doing stuff. So now that that's kind of in place and there's more clarity around that. Um, and with the experience that I had of just realizing like the results of last year, a lot of clubs reassessed their entire business model structure, um, reassessed, how they bring in players. And if you've guys have been noticing like the average age of players that they're bringing in and signing are definitely much, much younger, which is okay in many, many regards.

And I understand why a lot of them are thinking that, but what they're missing out in on is you definitely need your O G veterans to properly teach these youngsters how to be good pros and how to develop into, uh, reaching their fullest potential. Because a lot of players have a lot of potential. Right. But, um, is one thing execution is another. And, um, I think, uh, the most forward thinking clubs will snatch up veteran talent soon. Yeah. And if they don't, then I don't think they're very forward-thinking and they will struggle. And I'm just saying that because it's true. And you guys already know the truth is true, whether you believe it or not, just like we told everyone 2020 is about the vision we've been saying. We had been saying that well before the pandemic was a thing and anyone knew about it. Well before 2020, one's about the frequincy, the frequincy, uh, in my free agency, 2021, the frequincy while we're dialed in, who you think is going to be riding that forward, thinking wave a smart organization that can recognize high value assets. Cause I need, I need a lot of help with the community management of our Instagram groups or Facebook groups and stuff. Cause those are great ideas. I, I love them. Um, I just don't have the, I don't have the bandwidth to properly dedicate the time and attention necessary to, uh, facilitate like the day to day. Notes taken during Super Bowl XLVII

PREGAME

This is a CBS broadcast. Starts with a pre-produced segment with Ravens and Niners players talking about wanting to win.

Simms: For the players, this is an emotional time. Need to make sure they don't overplay and make a big mistake to cost them the game.

FIRST QUARTER

LaMichael James! My dude! LaMike is back to return the opening kickoff for San Francisco. Kickoff is through the end zone.

Second-year QB Colin Kaepernick comes on to run the San Francisco offense in the Super Bowl. It's almost like he's a good football player or something.

First play, play action pass from Kaepernick to Vernon Davis for 20. It's coming back though. Illegal formation. Davis was covered by the wide receiver. Dumb mistake.

Nantz: This is Ray Lewis's final game. He's retiring after the game.

Niners go three and out. That illegal formation penalty killed the drive before it began.

Andy Lee will boot it away to the Ravens. Jacoby Jones back to return it. Gets to the Baltimore 48.

Ravens rolling on offense. Quick throw to the fullback, then a run to Ray Rice, and then a play-action pass downfield to Torrey Smith. Baltimore inside the 20.

Flacco incomplete in the end zone on third down, but the Niners jumped. The Ravens get another chance.

Baltimore goes five-wide on 3rd and 4 from the 13. Touchdown! Flacco lofts one over the top to Anquan Boldin in the end zone. That penalty cost the Niners four points. Oof. 7-0 Baltimore, less than five minutes into the game.

Boldin was behind everybody.

Niners get a first down. Crabtree in the slot, gets a matchup with Ray Lewis and makes Lewis look silly. Gains 15 or so.

Nifty run from Frank Gore for eight yards, out near midfield.

3rd and 2, designed run for Kaepernick out of the shotgun. Follows his right guard for 9 yards. First down into Ravens territory.

San Francisco running the ball well. Another first down for Gore, to the 32.

Now they go to the air. Kaepernick to Vernon Davis, wide open, complete. Inside the Baltimore 10 now, first and goal.

Second down, Kaepernick scrambles and just barely misses a wide-open Crabtree.

Kaep is sacked on third down. The Niners will have to attempt a field goal. David Akers from 36 - got it. 7-3 Ravens, 3:58 left in the first quarter.

Ravens safety Ed Reed is going to the locker room. I guess maybe he's injured, but he doesn't look like he's in agony or anything. Replay shows he twisted his knee when he tackled Vernon Davis on the last drive.

Sideline reporter Solomon Wilcots confirms Reed injured his left knee on the tackle of Davis.

Third and a half-yard, Ray Rice runs left for a couple yards. First down.

Ed Reed returns to the sideline. Looks like he's probably fine.

Third and 7 for the Ravens in their own territory. It looks like Flacco is just throwing it away on a scramble, but miraculously, Anquan Boldin gets to the ball and grabs it for a gain of 31 into Niners territory.

Third and 13, Flacco scrambles again but this time the defense gets him. A sack at the San Francisco 43 ends the first quarter. Baltimore 7, San Francisco 3.

SECOND QUARTER

Sam Koch boots it into the end zone on the punt. Not ideal.

Cutaway: Harbaugh parents, Jack and Jackie.

First down, brilliant pass from Kaepernick to Davis across the middle. A frickin' laser hits Davis in stride. First down out to the San Francisco 49.

Another pass to Davis, this time a gain of 11 to the Baltimore 40. Seems like the Niners are trying to get Ray Lewis in pass coverage to take him out of the run game.

LaMichael! LMJ gets nine yards up the middle on the first down. Second and 1 from the 32.

I really dig this formation.

Niners having big success with the read-option run game, which could never work in the NFL because it's a college gadget trick that pro defenses are too smart and fast to fall for.

Aw, hell. James makes a great spin move to avoid a tackle, then fumbles when he's hit. A replay clearly shows it's a legit fumble. Dammit, LaMichael. Ravens recover.

Ravens convert another third and short. Bernard Pierce this time gains two on 3rd and 1.

Flacco fires downfield to a covered Ed Dickson. Gain of 21, inside the San Francisco 30.

Now Flacco to Dickson again. They're throwing a bunch to their tight ends (Pitta and Dickson) too. Personal foul tacked onto the end of the play, which isn't a big deal for the Niners - it's a four-yard penalty. First and goal from the 4.

Make it 30 of 31. Flacco to Pitta in the end zone. 14-3 Ravens, halfway through the second quarter. That James fumble was big.

First play of the next drive, Kaepernick downfield, overshoots receiver Randy Moss and hits Baltimore's Ed Reed right in the numbers. Picked off in San Francisco territory.

There's some pushing and shoving after the play. Offsetting personal fouls. Nothing happens. Baltimore keeps the ball.

Nantz: That's the first time a 49ers quarterback has ever been intercepted in a Super Bowl. This is the franchise's sixth Super Bowl.

Ravens keeping it on the ground here, which makes some sense - move the ball while giving San Francisco as little time as possible before halftime on their next possession.

3rd and 4, Flacco to Rice in traffic, makes a couple of nice moves and gets to the 20 for a first down.

Second and 9, right through Boldin's hands. Could have been intercepted but isn't. Sets up third and 9. 3:17 left in the half. Presumably, they'll pass here.

Yep, they do. Flacco overshoots Torrey Smith in the end zone. They'll settle for a Justin Tucker field goal attempt. It's a fake! Direct snap to Tucker - he gains eight yards but needed nine. Well executed, but just came up short. It's a turnover on downs with 3:05 left in the first half. I feel like maybe Tucker just became the leading rusher in Super Bowl history among placekickers.

There was all kinds of room for Tucker to run, but unfortunately for the Ravens he runs like a kicker.

2nd and 10, Kaepernick throws from his own end zone. He double clutched on the throw and telegraphed it. Very nearly picked off at his own 15.

Ravens call timeout after an unsuccessful third down draw play. Niners will punt with 2:19 left in the second quarter.

Jacoby Jones muffs the punt, picks it up, and gets to his own 45. Flacco will have 2:07 to score before the half.

Nantz: Ravens have a shot to score here, then get the ball to start the second half.

Second and ten, Flacco deep to Torrey Smith. Probably should have been offensive pass interference but there's no flag. Pass hits DB Chris Culliver in the numbers but falls incomplete.

Coming out of the two minute warning, Flacco deep again, this time to Jones. Jones makes a diving catch, gets up, shimmies, jukes, and finds the end zone. 21-3 Ravens. 1:45 left in the first half.

Chris Culliver was all kinds of discombobulated on the touchdown.

Replay shows Jones was nearly touched while he was on the ground, but was not touched.

Ravens wearing an Art Modell memorial patch, which...no sir, I don't like it at all.

Kaepernick comes out and completes a couple of passes on the ensuing drive and gets a roughing the passer penalty tacked on to the end of the second completion. Niners get to the Baltimore 45.

CBS graphic: Niners came back from 17 behind in the NFC championship game.

Kaepernick goes downfield again, this time to Delaney Walker. Terrific throw gets the Niners into the red zone. San Francisco calls timeout with 0:57 left, first and ten from the Baltimore 17.

Third and 2 from the 9, Kaepernick rolls, rolls, looks, and falls over. Didn't see anyone to throw to. San Francisco calls timeout with 0:03 left in the half. Akers from 27 yards. Right down the middle. We've reached halftime. 21-6 Baltimore.

HALFTIME

Simms: The Ravens have given the ball to Flacco and told him to go win the game. They're crossing the defense up.

Wilcots: Asked John Harbaugh about the fake field goal. Said low-risk, high reward. Either we pick up the first down, score, or we pin the Niners deep in their own territory.

THIRD QUARTER

Welp. Jacoby Jones takes the kickoff nine yards deep in the end zone and goes virtually untouched through the coverage team. That's a 109 yard touchdown, which is a record, obviously. Extra point is good. It's 28-6 with 14:49 left in the third quarter.

Gone.

Simms to Nantz: Both of us were surprised Jones chose to take the ball out of the end zone.

The Harbaugh in its default state.

First play, Kaepernick on the run, throws a nice pass to Crabtree, right in stride. 29 yard completion for a first down.

If anyone’s going to go full Hannibal Lecter with a facemask, it might as well be Ray Lewis.

Second down, Kaep buying time, hanging in the pocket, gets tripped and falls. Six yard sack.

Simms's microphone cuts out while describing the sack, then the power goes out in the stadium. Almost immediately, emergency lighting kicks in, but it's way too dark to play.

Have you tried turning it off, then back on again?

We've got video but still no audio from the announcers. CBS goes to commercial. When they come back, Steve Tasker is reporting. He's doing his best to describe what's going on, but as a breaking news reporter, Tasker makes a wonderful special teams player.

CBS goes to commercial, comes back, and it's still Tasker. Players stretching on the field. Nobody is sure how long this is going to take.

Tasker and Wilcots suggest that this power outage could cost the Ravens the momentum they would have had after the Jones kickoff return touchdown.

Wilcots tosses to the studio team. James Brown vamps, kills time. He's doing the studio host version of scrambling.

Shannon Sharpe: There's been a power surge in the stadium - it's called the Baltimore Ravens.

Bill Cowher: Niners defense needs to come up with turnovers. Ravens are going to play with the lead and burn clock. You can still throw the ball, but take your time in the huddle, snap the ball with the play clock below 5, just milk the clock.

Cowher: San Francisco will have to go to the hurry up offense soon. That will affect the inexperienced Kaepernick.

Sharpe: Before the lights went out, I was getting the sense this game was about to get away from the 49ers.

Cowher: Not seeing a sense of urgency from the 49ers, which isn't because they don't know the situation, it's because they're inexperienced.

CBS runs highlights, still killing time.

Marino: John Harbaugh is a special teams coach. Between the kickoff return and the fake field goal, special teams are playing a big role.

Cowher: It's like another, longer halftime now.

Tasker: This delay might last as long as 20 minutes. Called Jim Harbaugh over, he didn't want to talk on camera but I told him it could be that long. He said thanks, that nobody had told him.

Wilcots: Ravens just working to keep focus, not going to the locker room, getting ready to go win a championship.

Cowher: If I'm Baltimore, I'm just worried about the game. Gotta concentrate on the job at hand.

Studio team agrees that this break helps the 49ers.

Cowher: Jim Harbaugh needs to pull Kaepernick aside and say we need more of a sense of urgency. You have to stay comfortable out there, but we need to move more quickly.

Brown: It'll be another 15 minutes before the game is underway.

Cowher: [Backup QB] Alex Smith could run a hurry-up offense maybe better than Kaepernick. Marino: He hasn't played in how long? I wouldn't do that.

Cowher: I'm not saying you immediately go to Alex Smith. I'd just think about that in the back of my mind - who can get more plays run? Who gives me a chance to score a lot of points?

Marino: I thought the 49ers would be able to run the ball better. That's their gameplan and it hasn't worked for them.

Sharpe: Kaepernick is a one-read quarterback. He looks to Crabtree, then takes off running.

Lights beginning to come back on inside the stadium.

Marino: Beyonce must've knocked the lights out.

Wilcots: The league is not prepared to make a statement about what knocked the power out. They're still working on finding out what happened.

CBS runs highlights again. They're tapdancing out there.

Sharpe: This delay will hurt Ray Lewis. He's 37 years old!

Brown: Play will resume in 7-10 minutes.

Sharpe: Somebody didn't send the check to pay the stadium power bill.

Marino: John Harbaugh will tell his team to relax and be patient. We've got a lead.

CBS goes to a ticking "since power outage" clock. 27:20 and counting.

Tasker: Outside power feed coming into the stadium went dead. Before play resumes, teams will get a warmup period. There's no restrictions on that, both teams can do what they feel like they need to do.

Sharpe: If this happened to me, I'd tell my guys that the power didn't just go out on us. It went out on the other guys too - we can't control that. We have 25-30 minutes left, we have to take care of that and we'll win the Super Bowl.

Back upstairs to Nantz and Simms. Nantz: Hey, Phil, next time you decide to charge your phone, give us a warning, okay?

Simms: There's no time for the 49ers to panic. Defense needs to make some plays and get the ball back for their offense.

CBS shows video of a power outage the 49ers had last year (in 2011).

Simms: If I'm Jim Harbaugh, Colin Kaepernick is my man and I'm going to win or lose with him. Between his legs and his arm, that's how they'll get back into the game if they do.

Tracy Wolfson: On the 49ers sidelines, their equipment is still coming back online. Things are just now beginning to work, which will allow the game to resume.

Nantz: Game will resume in the next minute.

Delay is 34 minutes. Nantz says when they hear from the NFL about the cause, they'll pass it along.

3rd and 13, Kaepernick rolls and throws underneath. It's complete but short of the first down. Niners to punt again.

Lee boots it through the end zone, which at the very least keeps it away from Jacoby Jones.

CBS graphic: 84 minutes have elapsed since the Ravens' last offensive play.

Doesn't seem to have affected them. First play, Flacco to Smith for 15.

3rd and 7, Flacco to Ray Rice for 6. They'll punt.

Koch kicks it through the end zone. Niners get the ball with 10:26 left in the quarter.

Hey, Dean Pees is Baltimore's defensive coordinator. Former head coach at Kent State. Neat.

Kaepernick scrambles for 15. He'll take that all day if they leave that much space open.

Man, you just can’t do that against Kaepernick. He will shred you.

Excellent throw deep downfield from Kaepernick to Crabtree. Hits him right in the hands and Crabtree just plain drops it. Leaves a third and 8.

Kaep to Moss for 9. First down.

Niners call a timeout at the line of scrimmage. Oof. They may need that later.

Simms: If Kaepernick didn't understand the play, he should have just gone to the line of scrimmage and done something. Those timeouts are too important to burn.

Kaepernick to Vernon Davis for 15. They're at the Baltimore 31.

Now Kaepernick zips it to Crabtree, who bounces off of two DBs and gets into the end zone. 31-yard score. 28-13 Ravens. San Francisco isn't dead yet.

Subpar tackling

Nantz: NFL has revised the kickoff return to 108 yards instead of 109. Merely ties the all-time record instead of breaking it.

Ravens go three-and-out, capped off by a sack on third down. Left tackle Bryant McKinnie didn't block anything, he just stood there and the rusher blew past him.

Koch punts from his end zone. Ted Ginn grabs it on a bounce and takes it to the Baltimore 20. Niners are super-not dead yet.

First play, Kaepernick to Davis for 14. First and goal from the Baltimore 6.

Next play, Gore gets the edge on the right side and he's in the end zone. All of a sudden, it's 28-20 Ravens with 4:59 left in the third quarter.

Yards since the power outage: 106-16, San Francisco.

Simms: I don't think the power outage affected Baltimore. I just think the 49ers are playing better.

Superdome statement: Power has been restored. Sorry.

NFL statement: Stadium's looking into it. We dunno. We'll let you know when we hear.

Second and 7, complete pass to Ray Rice, who almost immediately fumbles it. Niners recover inside the Baltimore 25. Have I mentioned San Francisco isn't dead yet?

That was the third fumble Ray Rice has lost in the postseason.

Third and 7, Kaepernick looks for Ginn in the end zone. Tipped away and the Niners will settle for an Akers field goal attempt. It'll be a 39-yard kick. Wide left, but there's a flag on the play.

Running into the kicker. Akers gets another shot, this time from 34 yards.

Replay shows it easily could have been roughing instead of the five yard penalty.

Got it this time. 28-23 Baltimore, 3:10 left in the third quarter.

Akers looks injured as he kicks off. Not a great kick, but not horrible. Something to keep an eye on.

Third and 3, Swing pass to Boldin for a big gain. Gets to the San Francisco 35.

Now a quick pass to Pitta for 7. They're well within field goal range.

Last play of the third quarter comes on 3rd and less than a yard. Bernard Pierce makes a terrific move and picks up 8 yards. He's tackled by the neck and unsurprisingly injured. The Ravens will have a new set of downs as the fourth quarter begins. 28-23 after three.

FOURTH QUARTER

Ravens DL Haloti Ngata is injured and not expected to return.

First and goal from the 5, Ray Rice up the middle for 4. A touchdown here would be huge.

Second and goal, Rice up the middle again. No gain. I'm having Super Bowl XVI flashbacks.

Third down, Flacco rolling right, buying time, and throws it out of the end zone. They'll settle for a 19-yard field goal attempt. Perfect. Ravens up 31-23, San Francisco is still within one score.

Nice throw downfield, Kaepernick to Moss. The Ravens blew the coverage on Moss. 30+ yard completion.

Next play, Frank Gore with a nice run left, cut back to the right, gets inside the Baltimore 20.

Nantz: It's been a rough month for Ray Lewis in the court of public opinion since he announced his retirement. Well, yeah, Jim, people don't like it when dudes intentionally lie to the police during murder investigations.

Oh, what a run from Kaepernick. Goes back to pass and sees a bunch of open space to his left, so he takes off. 15 yard touchdown run cuts the lead to 31-29 and the Niners are going for 2.

Remember the thing about not giving Kaepernick a bunch of open space to run in? Yeah. That.

Incomplete pass on the two-point conversion. Kaep was hurried by an unexpected safety blitz.

That 15 yard run was the longest touchdown run by a quarterback in the history of the Super Bowl.

So anyway, it's 31-29 Baltimore with 9:57 left.

Wilcots: Ravens RB Bernard Pierce was injured, went to the locker room, ran a bit to test the injury, talked to trainers, and now appears to be ready to go.

Third and 9 for the Ravens, Flacco misses Torrey Smith by a few yards, but DB Chris Culliver was all hands on Smith's jersey. Pass interference. Big first down.

Flacco rolls, looks, and sees Anquan Boldin improvise to get open. Ten yard completion, first down near midfield.

Niners challenge the spot. That's a big call from Jim Harbaugh - risking one of their two remaining time outs.

Simms hates the challenge, but it pays off for the 49ers. It's third and inches instead of first and ten.

The Ravens throw on third and inches! Gutsy call from Flacco to audible to that play. It works. Boldin makes a catch with a defender's arm right there in the way. What a catch.

Clock under 6:00. Ravens are in field goal range.

Rice up the middle, stuffed. Pierce up the middle, stuffed. Clock will be below 4:30 before the next Ravens play.

The Niners send two linebackers on a blitz for third and long, but they mistimed the snap. Guessed wrong, it looks like. Jim Harbaugh is freaking out, which is admittedly his natural state. Third and 2 instead of 4th and 7.

Incomplete pass to Pitta on third down. Was it tipped at the line? Not sure. Either way, Pitta should have caught it.

Justin Tucker hits a field goal to extend the lead to 34-29 Ravens. Niners will get the ball with a chance to win the game.

49ers have never led, but could win the Super Bowl with a touchdown on this drive. Truth be told, they probably need a touchdown on this drive to have any chance at all.

Gore runs for 7 on first down, Kaep scrambles for another 8 or 9 on second down. He got out of bounds. 3:32 left, first and 10 from the Niners' 36.

Oh, what an amazing throw. Vernon Davis was open deep downfield and Kaepernick hit him in the hands. Davis drops the ball.

Next play, another laser from Kaepernick. Michael Crabtree over the middle, gets to the Baltimore 40.

Now they hand it to Frank Gore, who blows through the defense for 33. First and goal from the Ravens' 7. 2:45 left in the game.

Tyrod Taylor sighting! Tyrod's hanging out on the Ravens' sideline.

They run it up the middle on first down for a yard or two and the clock hits 2:00. Two minute warning time, Niners with a legit chance to win this thing after a 22-point second half deficit.

Second and goal from the 5, Kaepernick rolls, rolls, looks, and there's nothing to throw to. Incomplete pass.

Third and goal. Play whistled dead. Delay of game? Really? No, not really. Harbaugh got a timeout called before the penalty.

So it's still third and goal. 1:55 on the clock. They throw short and wide to Crabtree, but he's decked and drops it. Can't blame him for that.

Fourth and goal. They need to score on this play. Do or die.

Die. Kaepernick overthrows Crabtree in the end zone. Jim Harbaugh loses his mind claiming a hold on the defense. There's no flag. It's a turnover downs.

Hey Jim, what did the officials just do to you?

Replay shows that the defensive back had a couple handfuls of red jersey. Probably should have been a flag. Simms says it's hard to throw a flag in that situation - I say if it's hard to throw a flag when a game is on the line, you should find new work.

That’s a handful of jersey if I’ve ever seen one.

Niners burn their final timeout on first down. 1:42 left. It'll be run, run, punt. Maybe you take an intentional safety on fourth down? I'd rather do that than give the Niners the ball close enough for a Hail Mary shot.

Run, stuffed. Run, stuffed. Play clock-to-game clock differential is nine seconds. I say you snap the ball to the punter, have him dance as long as possible, and step out the back of the end zone. Simms says you punt it. That seems insane. Simms thinks about it more and still says you punt it. If you can get the clock down past 6-7 seconds before the safety, the field goal isn't even an option. There's time for one play - the only question is where the ball is snapped from. The free kick gives Baltimore an extra 20 yards, at least.

The Ravens do give away the safety. Koch is able to get the clock down to 0:04 before he's pushed out of the end zone. I still have no idea what Simms is smoking. That was so obviously the right decision that I can't see a case against it.

Simms: "Well now, they get to either punt the ball or kick it off from the...*pause*...looks like the 20 yard line."

Cool, Phil, you're not even completely sure what the rules are. Great analysis.

Nantz references the free kick rule, allowing the receiving team to choose to kick an uncontested field goal after a fair catch. But they need the fair catch, otherwise it's not an option.

Koch punts it all the way back past the Niners' 20. Free kick isn't an option. Ted Ginn returns the kick for around 30 yards but is tackled. That's why you give away the safety, fellas. Game over. Ravens 34, Niners 31.

POSTGAME

Marino: Seemed like in the second half, after the power outage, the Ravens defense was tired. But they came up with the stand at the end of the game.

Esiason: Flacco's going to be named the MVP. Stemmed the tide of momentum, stood up when they needed him. This is Joe Flacco's game.

Richard Dent brings the Vince Lombardi trophy to the podium. Super Bowl XX MVP.

Roger Goodell: Ravens have made five straight playoff appearances, and are now the World Champions.

Ravens owner Steve Bischiotti: Thanks to New Orleans for a spectacular way to celebrate. To the fans back in Baltimore, we're bringing another one back home to you.

Nantz references O.J. Brigance, former Raven suffering from ALS.

First thing John Harbaugh says is that he wants the fans to give a big long cheer for Brigance.

Nantz: What did you say to your brother after the game? John Harbaugh: I told him I loved him. Nantz: What did he say? John Harbaugh: Congratulations.

Joe Flacco is named the MVP.

Flacco: We don't make it easy, but that's the way the city of Baltimore is. It's the way we are. Did this for the people back in Baltimore. Can't wait to get back there with the trophy for the parade.

Ray Lewis: When God is for you, who can be against you? No greater way to go out than as a champion, with these teammates.

Yes, Ray, I'm sure God was totally stoked about that time you stopped the police from arresting murderers.

The V Team (A B Team Fic)

just a little something I whipped up for @livbelcik for the @webseriesfemslashexchange.

It’s a little all over the place but just take it at face value and enjoy the kiddos

Viola and Sebastian Messing had always been really good at first days at school. Sebastian was naturally super social, and then Vi would hang out with him and his friends and find her own people that way.

First day at Elysium High was not like this. Sebastian didn’t really seem to hit it off with many people, so he stuck to his best friend since birth, his sister. They did literally everything at school together for a week. And then they were at each other’s throats. They needed friends.

“Hey, anyone in here?” Sebastian called into an empty art room during lunch. Surprisingly enough, a cabinet door popped open, revealing a curled up figure, a mop of hair illuminated only by the light from a Nintendo DS.

“Hi, is it okay if I hang here for a bit? I thought I’d give my sister a chance to breathe.”

“yeah, sure, are you new?” “you bet. Name’s Sebastian Messing.” “Oh great hi! I’m Omar. Omar Tree.”

It wasn’t until Sebastian disappeared that Viola noticed her. Tall, tan, toned, just like the girls back in California. Viola hated cliché descriptors of women but her legs really did shoot from her shorts. V could tell an athlete from a mile off, and this was definitely one. The girl was pinning a flyer to the bulletin board. After waiting an appropriate amount of time for her to leave, Viola went up to read it.

“Elysium’s Soccer Team needs you!”

Huh. Soccer. Vi had never really considered it. It might be fun. This was, after all, a soccer school. It would be nice to be on a noteworthy team for once. But then Viola’s eye caught the boy’s football tryout flyer and there’s no way she could resist that! She made a note to tell Seb that they were later that day.

Viola found herself at the same bulletin board the next day. Staring at another flyer. One with a list of names: Oren, Drew, Corey, Vic, Ben, Aaron, etc... Ah, there it is. Sebastian Messing. And no Viola.

She looked over at the girls’ soccer flyer.

“Elysium’s Soccer Team needs you! Our 3-time State champs are looking for enthusiastic girls ready to conquer the championships!”

Enthusiastic? Viola thought, kinda.

Ready to conquer? Kinda.

Girl? Kinda.

Kinda was enough.

It had been years since Viola tried out for a girls’ team and honestly, she was a little intimidated. She was wearing one of her brother’s old practice jerseys and felt wildly out of place surrounded by Soffees and crop tops.

Jeez, Viola thought, apparently, I’m too girly for the boys’ team but lord knows I don’t fit in here.

She was a football player, sure, but she was a kicker. So surely those skills had to transfer somehow. Varsity should be a cakewalk.

“Alright ladies,” the tall girl said, whistled and clipboarded, “It’s great to see such a turnout. I’m Jennifer Lestrade, and I’ll be your captain this year. We’ve got two teams, varsity and B Team. I will be captaining both, because I’m good at prioritizing and time management. Remember, no matter how you do, you are an athlete because you are here. I know you’re all hoping for Varsity but there is no such thing as a bad team. Now let’s see whatcha got!”

The drills were, in a word, torturous. Viola knew how to kick a still ball far and high. A moving ball slalomed through cones? Not her specialty. But her years in scrimmages with her special team special boy brother gave her at least decent defense skills.

And it wasn’t like she was the worst one there. Other girls were struggling too, to the point where the cheerleaders practicing on the track stopped to watch and laugh. Lestrade reminded them to ignore the laughs and focus, but still, the giggles persisted. After the relief of the final whistle, a fit cheerleader with her hair in space buns jogged over and V could hear her confront Lestrade:

“So, you need a manager, right?”

“No thank you, I’m perfectly capable by myse—“

“yeah, you need a manager. I’ll do it.”

“...okay?”

“Name’s Lin. Lin Thropupland. Next game’s what, Saturday?”

“Yeah, but”

“I’ll see you then. I’ll bring orange slices.”

Another day, another flyer. Finally, one bearing good news: the results from tryouts. After she nearly twisted her ankle dribbling, Viola had lowered her standards and wasn’t expecting to make a team at all. But there she was, on the B Team, along with:

Jennifer Lestrade – Forward (not a surprise)

Anne Shirley – Striker (V wanted this position but she saw Anne and when she tried she could score with a brick wall in front of the goal)

Beatrice Duke – Vice-Captain and Head Midfielder (Bea kept joking about how she didn’t want to be on Varsity so it could be the “Bea Team”)

Mary Lennox – Midfielder (big surprise. Seemed like she knew most of the varsity players and played just as well as them.)

Viola Messing – Midfielder (V reminded herself to google what a midfielder does other than stand in the middle of the field)

Violet Hunter – Midfielder (made a joke about making a band with Viola called Viola and the Violettes)

Erica Slender – Defender (referred to herself with both she and they pronouns, making V very happy!!)

Charley Condomine – Defender (Apparently tried out because her therapist told her to get a hobby. Protective of the goal but not very good at protecting it.)

Nimmie Tree – Defender (kept yelling at the ball but it seemed to work. Very good at throw ins. Did not like seeing Lin become manager)

Serena Berg - Defender (seemed to know where everyone should be. V reminded herself to ask her for advice)

Zoe Lasnammer – Goalie (kept talking about like five other projects during tryouts. How does she have the time?)

Well, that was her team. It was going to be one crazy spring.

Sebastian got along great with the boys on the football team. They started calling him Seahorse because his name has “sea” in it and he is fast. Like a horse. Not the best, but a nickname is a nickname. Still, all that broness gets exhausting and that’s what Omar was best at. Omar started showing up to school in eyeliner and eventually Sebastian tried it as well. It wasn’t long until Oren, the football captain, smudged a black coal line along his lash line and melted the hearts of half the cheerleading squad.

The B Team was totally bonded halfway first the first practice thanks to the almost clinical teambuilding activities of Jennifer Lestrade. In the locker room, Viola asked Violet about her.

“So the captain is she...?”

“who? Lezzzz-strade?”

“yeah, is she straight or what?”

“if anyone knew practice would be a lot less confusing. I personally think she’s straight but Bea swears up and down she’s got some Sapphic blood. I think it’s just wishful thinking.”

“I don’t know Violet, I think I have to agree with Bea.”

“...how much do you agree with her?”

“what do you mean?”

“do you ten bucks agree with her?”

“heck yes.”

“Ill add you to the list.”

*****One average season later******

The final game of the season wasn’t a big deal to the school but it was to the B team. And to the cheerleaders, there to support their former squad member on the sidelines just as much as the team. And the football team, who Sebastian took to one practice and could barely keep up with the girls. It was the same day as the team banquet so the day was doubly special.

Right after school let out Oren, Sebastian and the rest of the boys interrupted warm ups to show they had painted “GO B TEAM!” on their shirts. Omar was the exclamation point. They hung around and helped with some of the drills.

They won the game 1-0, but Zoe was given quite the workout with a bunch of close calls. They celebrated way too over the top, with Lin and a cheerleader spontaneously kissing at on the sidelines. Fists were bumped and pumped, squees were squeed, hugs were hugged.

At the banquet, Viola was so impressed by how well her teammates cleaned up. She brought Sebastian, both of them wearing suits, his colorful and casual, hers classic with an undone bow tie around her neck.

Jennifer was dressed a sleek black jumpsuit and her usual high ponytail of curls was freed and let loose, falling onto her shoulders. She arrived on the arm of a cheerleader. And petty criminal, if the rumors were to be believed.

“Vi, Violet, this is my datemate Wiggins. Wiggins, this is Viola and and I think you know Violet.”

“Yeah, we’ve hung out.” They upnodded at Viola and escorted Lestrade to the captain’s table.

Violet grinned. “So...do I pay you or...?”

“Let’s just call it a draw.”

“Sounds good.”

The banquet was the highlight of Viola’s whole year. She for once had found a team that doubled as her best friends, and her brother could get all the football attention instead of having to share it with her.

“Yooooo Seahorse!” Sebastian turned to see Running Back Ben of all people sitting next to Bea.

Viola raised an eyebrow. “Sebastian what have you been up to?”

“Vee, once I shenan, I must shenan-again.” Viola groaned at the joke and playfully punched him.

She looked around at Zoe and Lin planning some event together, at Anne and Mary making moony eyes at each other, Erica and Charley debating the ethics of séances, Serena and Nimmie just plain debating...

Yeah, this was her team.

Showtime- Chapter 2

Night 1

The uniform was too big.

Liza ended up rolling up the pants to tuck into her work boots and used a few spare pins to keep the sleeves rolled up. The entire thing was a shade of blue, faded in the way a few hundred washes could only do. Over her heart was Ted Bear's Pizza, stitched in golden. (Which was weird, since none of the characters were yellow.) The worse part was the hat.

She could've just dropped the scarf. It wasn't like anyone was going to see her or the scars that arched across her forehead. But the very thought of that made her want to faint. So, she struggled for fifteen minutes to get the too-small hat to fit over the scarf.

She could take the hat off at the office.

"Wait, but I'm supposed to-"

He was already out the door. Liza raised a brow but decided to ignore the...shadiness of that.

Sv'h srwrmt hlnvgsrmt.

The phone rang.

Liza let out a yelp, nearly falling over in the chair. She righted herself and grabbed the phone. Had Mr. Calworth forgotten to tell her something? "Hello-?"

What the fuck.

"Now, I know it sounds bad. But really, there's nothing to worry about! The animatronics here do get a bit...quirky at night, but do I blame them? No! If I had to sing the same stupid songs for years without a bath, I'll be a bit irritable too! So, remember, these characters hold a special place in everyone's hearts and we need to treat them with respect!" He continued on about some free-roam mode and servos locking up, Liza still stuck on the 'death has occurred' part. "Uh, they used to be able to free-roam during the day, but then the Bite of '85 happened. Then they got taken off free-roam a few years later, but a kid got too close fifteen years ago and the Bite of '05 happened."

What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck...

"The first kid died. I think the second kid was in a coma for a bit, but she survived after they stitched her brain back together. Amazing, right? Now, concerning your safety, the only real threat to you as a night guard is that the animatronics will confuse you for an endoskeleton without a suit. That's against the rules here, so they'll try to stuff you into a suit. That wouldn't be so bad, except they're filled with machinery and stuff. Which can cause a little bit of discomfort...and death."

WHATTHEFUCKWHATTHEFUCKWHATTHEFUCK...

She could figure out what the doors were for now.

It reached out for the heartbeat-

It was cruel. But it didn't have a choice.

It had been too choosy in the past. He had been too choosy.

When Liza decided to try the east hall light and saw Rex's leering face, she let out a scream and jabbed the east door hard enough that she was sure for a minute that she had broken her finger.

She sat there panting for a minute. Uncle Rafael was right, I need to cut down on la cafeína. She glanced at the tablet to see the battery drop from 96 to 85- crap, she still had the door down. Liza glanced upwards. The lack of Rex meant she could probably open the door.

She glanced through the cameras to see the trio's guitarist, Kitty-Cat, was gone. The camera in the kitchen lacked picture, but it did have audio. She could hear the crash of pots and pans. When she glanced at the Parts and Services room, Rex was glaring at the camera.

"Buen perro. Quédate ahí."

No.

"No, no, no," Liza hissed, trying to figure out which hallway. Her tablet choked for death. "No te atrevas!"

Bun took off. The woman froze, realizing she could hear the bunny coming. She sprang for the remote, slamming the west door button. It slammed down right when Bun was at the doorway. Liza let out a sigh of relief, glancing at her watch. It was only 2. Huh, time ran fast when you were fighting for your life-

Bang.

BANG!

BANGBANGBANGBANGBANG-

This tablet was a traitor, she decided. A horrible traitor. Un horrible, horrible pedazo de mierda bastardo. She was calling her uncle Rafael after her shift to demand what he and Uncle Vincent were thinking when they were making these things. Then she was quitting.

The hours slipped away as she fended off Rex, Kitty, and Captain Bun. Strangely, Ted himself hadn't come by yet, even though he was off-stage. As the hours passed, it seemed like they were getting discouraged. It was 5:50 AM when the pedazo de mierda that called itself a tablet was at 5%. She whimpered as it fell to 4, 3, 2...

It was exactly 5:59 when it hit 0.

The lights flipped on. Liza let out a squawk, closing her eyes. When she peeled them open, Ted had stepped back. Was it her or did he look frustrated? She didn't have time to take in his expression, because he turned and walked away. She grabbed the tablet and let out a cheer when it came to life. She watched through the cameras as the animatronics returned to the stage.

It took a good ten minutes before Liza could manage her way out. She was forced to pass through the dining hall, stopping to consider the bots on-stage.

There, they looked perfectly innocent. Nope, nothing weird here at all, no siree.

They could buy steel doors, but not a technician to reprogram these things?

One more day couldn't hurt. She could try and call the recording guy back.

One more day, and then she'll quit.

Episode #4: “Everyone hates a puzzle god.” - Drew

This swap was PERFECTO, well, had I been on Nu Orfeo, it would have been but, Nu Tuatha was my next best choice and already it is great! I have Kori/Bryce and then Loris for sure. I talked with Mitch and Sharky a bit, so I'm optimistic on that. But I go and talk to Stephen. Lo & behold, he tells me there's a rumor that Kori and Bryce are working together. He says he heard it from Jared, but I figure hey, why am I not living a little? I say wow if we lose they go but...I immediately told Zach haha what he wishes to do with it is up to him, but if the rumor happens to spread, then I guess we'll see. If Mitch happened to feel this way, then I can at least use it to avoid being a target for a little while, even if I am sticking with KB.. this is gonna be one heck of an intriguing dynamic!

Oh my goodness, what a great swap! I got Chris, I got Bryce, and I got Mitch all of whom I doubt will be voting me. If I play my cards right I'll also be able to use this opportunity to get closer to Sharky or Loris in the event we never go to tribal. Ideally I wanna make sure me and Loris are especially good since Sharky seems the more likely first boot from our tribe.

I'm not sure what to make of this 24 hour challenge, wanna be optimistic but who knows.

I fucking love Alyssa, literally as soon as we swapped she looked at my teammates, messaged two of them to talk to me and gave me info on Zach and Stephen having history in the season. The equivalent of like "Okay go to the backdoor, meet the guard and tell them you like to fly with the eagles, he'll let you in, tell them you're with me and I'll leave the rest to you." So while yes I am the odd duckling out being the only one from Cyrena I'm going to do my best to work with what I have.

So not very much has changed on Tuatha as far as I can tell. My tribe winning the immunity challenge has helped me delay any confrontation between my 2 alliances which is great, as it should theoretically allow me to maintain relationships with all 6 members of the tribe. Still, it's going to keep being important to win immunity or pray for a swap in order to keep these groups from clashing.

Jared and Rhys are still a ? for me. I don't know why/how Rhys was able to convince Kori to invite Jared to the alliance of 5 instead of Mitch, and it worries me that those 2 may have a stronger bond than I immediately suspected. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to deal with that when the time comes.

We're going to lose. I hate for it to sound so defeated/pessimistic, but the fact of the matter is unless we have a turn around in the AM, then I only see this setting the pace for the remainder. I know Bryce and Kori must be sleep. Mitch is trying, Loris possibly went back to sleep? And I guess Sharky is shooting for a late night swim or something. Regardless, I'm just already going over who the best person to leave would be for me. Unfortunately, with Kori/Bryce and then Loris, that only leaves me with Mitch or Sharky. Personally...I'd be open to Sharky, just cause, yea it would've been cool for Orfeo Seven to be a thing, but like I only feel secure with Zach/Loris and that's to a certain degree. All in all, this might be the tribal for Sharky to go and if the others are very sad over it, well, I guess they will have to come to terms with it. I know Mitch is with Stephen and now that I know Steph is gonna probs wanna target Kori/Bryce, I'll need him and Mitch around for them to battle it out against each other...hmm decisions.

So we swapped. Yay. I have Jared. Yay. Stephen, eh kinda doesn’t speak to me a lot, well he speaks to me the least in my tribe. But we’re in an alliance. So I’m gonna have to figure how to navigate that.

Chloe Mo and a Zach all talk to me more than Stephen. So If I can figure out a way to maintain numbers and sack off Stephen, bye bye Stephen.

Also Mo is amazing. Staying up to try to prove worth in challenges 😍 no one deserves mo.

Y'all know me, one wrong social interaction which ends in humiliation or making me look like a dingus will ruin my entire day. Like oh no one laughed at my joke? Time to disappear into nothing and mope for a couple hours.

I’m lowkey scared about this challenge. I’m on my phone which sucks cause I can’t really do much in terms of puzzles. I can do them just always not the first one to finish. So looks like I’m not doing much yikes.

hi! we swapped! um. the last 2 hours. what a mess. so. like. kori posted a screenshot that showed the names of all his alliances and like. i told everyone maybe... ?? i told zach and then.. mitch.. and then.. i confronted bryce bc one was called 'three kings' so it was obv him chris and kori.. and bryce confirmed it. then sharky does the same thing but oh well thats insignificant hes only in 1. also. me and mitch r like. close now!! all because of this mess. but kori hates me. hehee

So the tribe swap has hit, and I'm back with my old pal Zach! You know, the person from my season who I tried to vote out like a million times before finally succeeding due to finding the idol at F5. Woohoo.

In all seriousness, though, I'm kinda happy to be on a tribe with him because he's a challenge beast and I don't think our relationship is totally unworkable. I made it clear to Zach as soon as the swap happened that I wanted to work with him, not against him, so hopefully that'll work out.

Chloe and Mo are 2 people I've also been working to get to know since the game began so I'm not too worried about them targeting me right away. I think this is a strong group overall.

And then there's Jared and Rhys. Probably not the first 2 people I would've chose to swap with but at the very least they both have incentive to keep me around. We are in an alliance together after all!

I made the decision to tell Chris about my situation with Mitch and the alliances on OG Tuatha because I really want them both to survive and unite with them at merge, and if Chris knows that Mitch was on the bottom of the totem pole on Tuatha, then maybe he'll take it into consideration.

So I had a glimmer of hope but we lost it and that's okay. I already prepared myself to vote for Sharky and it seems that is where we're headed...and yet craziness ensued in the time I was away! Kori accidentally reveals three kings and I try and do what I can to talk to others but nobody has said anything so they're either good at hiding things or they legit dropped it after questioning Bryce and Kori. ON TOP of it all, I learn from Loris that Sharkys alliance chat could be from an org..with Drew, Chloe and maybe Matt. It would definitely explain why Chloe didnt except the alliance offer..so that is fun. And now Stephen has told me he/Bryce/Kori/Rhys had majority alliance. So now I have a lot of info. It's just mattering how to use it

I wanna explain my plan. It might sound ridiculous but... shut up. So I have this chart I made to show who’s doing the best and worst in challenges. I made four charts, three for each tribe, and one for everyone overall. The overall chart comes in handy if I make it to merge. So my dumb strategy is using said charts to kind of vaguely suggest who should be voted out each round. For example Tuatha is going to tribal and Mitch is doing the worst statistically so I can see him being eliminated (Mitch ily I’m sorry if you’re reading this). The bumpy part happens when and if I get to merge. Because then I’m going to be playing with a bunch of incredible comp players. My goal is to kind of use them as a way of getting to the end, by pinning them against one another until eventually it’s just me. Several problems in this plan, the first one is if my tribe goes to tribal which isn’t super severe because like I said I do feel comfy socially but I am doing the worst statistically so there’s a chance I could be eliminated. Second problem this is a very fragile plan and one crack could leave me looking like a goat trying to make something out of nothing and I’m not tryna get biggest goat in touchy subjects again. Will this all fail? Most likely. Am I gonna try to be a cool strategic genius? Yeah. But it’s worth a shot. Ok rereading this whole thing I’m kinda thinking this plan is garbo but I took so much time to write it so I’m gonna send it anyway.

God, the last 24 hours could not have gone worst. We lost the challenge, AND I was such a dumb idiot that I posted a screenshot in the tribe chat where you could see my alliances.

So naturally I had to basically inform anyone I was aligned with that it happened. I feel like such a flop right now. I've missed the window 3 times for searching for an idol, and it's just like how can I be so absent minded. I need to get myself together if I want to even make the merge let alone win the game.

So far the only people I know for sure saw the Screenshot are Loris and Zach. Chances are other people know and just haven't told me. I'm just trying to keep a level head after having a mental breakdown over what an idiot I've been. We're at tribal and I'm hoping the votes on Sharky are there because we do talk the least. (I'd rather Loris goes but we're actually in a chat together because apparently Jared and him talk a ton.) I have 0 desire to keep working with Loris though, so if I can push it I wanna send Loris home next if we lose again, he literally went up to Bryce asking if he was in Three Kings and tried to draw attention to my screenshot without flat out saying it in tribe chat, asking Mitch if he saw it etc etc.

It's obvious he's trying to basically draw attention to me because I did win our season. His fake-nice apologeticism isn't fazing me. If it's genuine, well he's bad at seeming sincere then since the actions I've seen don't reflect it.

Boy I hope I wake up and get my shit together because I really need to. Granted I could also be seeing myself going right now, so who knows. I haven't been the most useful in the challenges even though I've never not been trying. So hopefully I stick around for awhile longer. I've still got so much more I've set out to do and I don't want to get sent home without accomplishing any of it.

So we SWAPPED and I wanna give a little bit of insight as to my thoughts. New tuatha consists of me loris chris sharky kori and bryce. The first challenge was this 24 hour puzzle crap where Zach and Drew H from the other respective tribes CARRIED their teams to victory. It is about 5 hours before tribal and I already feel like I am on the bottom again. IDK WHAT IM DOING WRONG. I always seem to be on the bottom premerge, but thankfully this is how I flourish. I am SO good at getting out of situations like these and finding myself in a power position at merge because nobody wants to get rid of me. RN I created a chat with Loris and myself just so he can keep me updated on what is HAPPENING with chris and sharky, and i also have my old alliance with Jared and Stephen who i hope are doing ok. The targets for this round are me and sharky for being perceived as inactive. The vote should be 5-1 with Sharky going, but it HAS crossed my mind to throw a vote on like Bryce to shake the cage a little bit. I dont trust Bryce one bit and I feel like he'd throw me to the curb the first chance he gets unless loris keeps him in check.

Lol so we swapped, I get Michael and Alyssa but the former blue tribe has 4/6 majority here, I like them enough as people but like...we're just gonna go ahead and not go to tribal here, if I have to drag them to the immunity statue kicking and fucking screaming. Which is what I did. F17 ladies

Fourth tribal safe. It’s a weird feeling to be safe so many times in a row but I’m glad my all stars game is getting off to a strong start by making connections here there and everywhere. I’m praying for Sharky tonight because I know that he’s close to me and Chloe so if he goes it’s definitely worse case scenario.

So it seems sides are forming so that's cool. Mitch is possibly going to end up with me [and Loris] and then there would be Bryce and Kori. However, after chatting with Stephen and Jared yesterday, I've concluded that I am in a pickle! Let's say Kori/Bryce are legit about this Three Kings thing. Well, I know I'm a possible third wheel for it. On top of that, I'm assuming Mitch might get boned if we lose again, however, Stephen trusts Mitch a lot and so wants us to use him to take shots at Bryce/Kori if we lose again. Mind you, according to Jared, Stephen is a sneaky dude (Sneaky Pete), and him and Rhys don't trust him longterm. SO what does this all mean? All of my allies are hot messes. And on top of it all, I am beginning to feel for Sharky. Yes! I get that its been optimal for me to get him out, but it still sort of sucks now that I've talked with him more. Unfortunately, it is for the best he goes for my game right this instant and hopefully the wrath of him and his allies shant be too horrible.

So we swapped!!! And by some fucking miracle, we have a majority of me, jack, Alyssa and Bodhi. Was very unexpected tbh but we'll take it! Michael and Drew joined us which is good cause they r both v.good at challenges which I would hope means we can immunity run. Cause no thank u hate tribal not dealing with that. Drew also like carried us in the challenge which was a yeet, I swear I tried tho hehe. Mo and rhys I want to try and get to work together, would be very fun n flirty. Sharky messaged me like "lol I'm leaving" and if he does, I'm fucking fighting people, cause that is NOT ON. HE is my one true love and if he leaves I will be annoyed so much and will be quite fucked tbh.love that for me!!

at orientation last year we were told about a “rule of 7” to not overcommit ourselves. I’ve just about doubled that threshold and depending how the next few days go it might go even higher. Pray for me.

I wish I had more energy to dedicate to this game but i need to fucking relax in my free time. So I’ll talk to people at my current rate and hopefully that’ll get me to merge. Then I’ll drop all other responsibilities and fucking dominate.

I really think the game is starting to slow down for me. Now what I mean by that is I am continuing to get more woke and more misty, and the aura of this being all stars and the spectacle of the other players being so great is starting to dissapear.

I feel very much as though I have perfected my craft in terms of how I like to play, and I'm doing it very well here. It's cool to think about on a meta level like from AnnaJane's perspective: "oh my god Jared did really well for himself in Wakea and had major influence to where some people couldn't even notice, I wonder how he'll stack up against these all stars." I can feel myself back in that zone and coming into my own even in this field. To the point where these legends like Chris and Bryce and Sharky, I know deep down that I can play ball with them. Now, they may beat me at the end of the day and I may go home at some point, but I can understand even at this moment that I am probably top 3 if not the #1 best player here. Or at least I CAN be.

I want to zoom in on this and really get my shit together and take advantage of what is in front of me because with the game dynamics as they are, I can very clearly see myself as the winner. I need to keep doing what I'm doing, but at the same time make myself dissapear and be able to do this undetected.

My new strategy is called "fast and loose" because I'm going to get into these conversations, knock it out of the park and get out. Leave people feeling good about me every time I leave the room. I don't need to spend a ton of time working on anyone to the point they can tell what I'm doing. Calls? After tonight they are done. Not calling with anybody unless they ask. I want to be gaining social capital and influencing people's decisions without being detected so it has to be a hit and run.

I will reevaluate my position soon and probably recalculate my alliances, maybe I was wrong about Stephen and I need to get closer with him while no one else is. But at this moment I need targets going into the merge. That's how I'm gonna set it up. I want everyone to be shooting at each other and then at the key moment boom challenge advantage, boom idol, boom you gotta vote out Bryce can't vote for me, oh look I'm at the end.

Having the One World twist is so interesting because in a usual game when you don’t know everyone until you get to merge usually. You don’t know what’s going on, on the enemy tribe, you don’t know who’s inactive, who is starting drama or who is messy in challenges. Because you’re focusing all your social energy into your tribe alone so when someone you haven’t made contact with on the enemy tribe gets eliminated you think nothing of it. But here there are no walls, you can see and communicate with everyone and it’s in your best interest to focus your social energy into the one world chat because that’s what everyone else is doing. So my point in saying this is it’s now incredibly difficult to imagine having to lose 8 people before we get to the final 10. Because literally everyone is social, there are like two quiet people but everyone else you talk to on the daily and everyone is kicking ass in these challenges (except like two people). I think that’s why I keep thinking myself as an early out is because it’s so hard to imagine anyone else getting voted out. But fuck that I got shit to prove.

I can’t even begin to explain how it feels to have been immune for 10 days in a row. My glow up front wakea is real.

Bodhi wants to get the 4 of us OG Cyrena's in a majority alliance, which is super convenient bc we can just combine our alliances into one. Problem is? I would HATE to vote either Drew or Michael out, especially given Drew singlehandedly got us immunity this time. So if there was ever time for an immunity streak...

Also I keep forgetting to search for idols this is why I never find one
