caroline bringing out the humanity in klaus, and klaus encouraging the vampire in caroline. and them both being better for it. both characters pushing away a part of themself out of fear, but all it takes is the exact half of themselves they’re hiding from embodied in a person to draw them out.
caroline being this beacon of morality and light and empathy for klaus
while klaus is a symbol of strength and unapologetic acceptance of their nature for caroline.
them not ending up together is tragic not only because they would be so good WITH each other but because they were so good FOR each other.

HIII if you don’t mind sharing, what are your fav klaroline fics? New and old, I’m in need of new reads 🙏
I'm probably not the best person to be doing new fic recs. 🥲 I have sadly not been reading that much Klaroline myself these days. When I do read fic, it's for other stuff. So my recs are either old or new-ish. But hopefully you can find something to your liking that haven't read yet here.
Buckle up because I took my sweet time with this list, nonnie.
Tumblr media
. Inertia Overcome by @avari20
The first KC fanfic I remember reading the reason why I finally got pulled into the fandom after years of watching TVD as a reasonable spectator (so rly, if you guys can't stand to see me around anymore after all this time, it's this fic's fault for being so good). Honestly one of this fandom's statement works. If you haven't read it yet, please do.
. Timeless by @marvelouskatie
Same as the above. One of the most iconic KC fics of all time imho. The canon AU to end all canon AU. When I first decided to come out of the shadows and create a tumblr and actually start interacting with folks, this was the first fic that was recced to me. I was very grateful then, and now I'm here to pass this knowledge on.
. Picturesque by @supernutellastuff
Honestly of the sweetest, most heartwarming fics I've ever read! It's a human AU that's a How I Met Your Mother sort of adaptation, and honestly the first time I've ever enjoyed HIMYM. I love a good ensemble fic and this is just it! Supernutella is so talented.
. Quiet Light by @definedareasofuncertainty
This fic was WRITTEN FOR ME because of how much I pestered my friend Luiza about Carolijah and this will forever feel like a trophy to my heart. 🥰 It made me feel ALL THE FEELINGS. I hated Caroline, I loved Caroline, I loved my baby Elijah, I hated him, I also hated Klaus (he's such a fucking asshole omfg), but then the end was just DHAGHDDASAS!! You think you're in for a certain kind of story and it turns out to be so much more. It is, deep down, about the brothers, how selfish they are, how they can hurt each other more than anyone, but how they love one another above anything else, even when they want to kill each other (and fall in love with their brother's girl!!!). It's beautiful, like everything Luiza writes, and it genuinely made me cry.
. long limbs and frozen swim by @definedareasofuncertainty
I saw a discussion the other day about how whoever wrote this fic JUST GOT IT, and I have to say I completely agree with the person who made that comment. Luiza just NAILS Caroline's grief and loneliness after her mother's death, how isolating and gut-wrenching it is. Klaus being the person who finds her, who knows exactly what to say without her ever having to spell it out, the one who can truly see her, is so honest too. This fic is sensitive and absolutely beautiful. Luiza's writing is perfection and this is for sure one of my all-time favorites.
. Whisper to me, Help me remember by @lalainajanes
This story reimagines the plot with the "villains" of TO S3 in a way that proves my point that the premise of that season was good, but execution was absolute crap. All of the potential the De Martels had to be incredible antagonists was completely destroyed at the hands of the show writers - but explored to perfection by Laine's much more capable hands. Klaus is freed after 10 years in captivity to find that Caroline had been working with Tristan this whole time in order to take him down - except something is not quite right about that. While you're at it, please read all of Laine's fics! It's a delight.
. Into the Woods by @jinxedwood
I wept when I read this because it's the post-TO canon fic I didn't even know I needed. Caroline's search for a way to stop her twins' merger ends up leading her to someone who's been watching over her on the Other Side. 😭 I thought I'd always rather live in denial when it came to how TO ended, but this fic made my heart so full! Also, jinxedwood's use of fae mythology here was incredible.
. All I Need by @euvixen
This story is HOT. It taught me things about the werewolf AU universe I was not prepared to learn, but I am a much happier person after reading it. It's a canon mates AU that will leave you 🥵🥵🥵🥵 I speak as though the story was merely about the smut, but it's actually much more than that. A TVD S3 reimagine of sorts that is incredibly satisfying. That's my favorite season of TVD, but this is still even better.
. the birth and death of the day by @little-miss-sunny-daisy
Anyone who's known me for a some time knows how this fic was my entire personality for a while there. I'm obsessed with Kelly's writing, and I have this fic on a freaking pedestal. I first started reading it when it was on a six years hiatus, and I was *so* into it I didn't even bother me that it might never get updated because it was so good I was just happy I'd found it. But then my silly comments inspired Kelly to come back to it, finish it, and it has honestly been my greatest accomplishment as a part of this fandom because this is a masterpiece. It's a TVD/Supernatural crossover where Caroline is a step-sister to the Superbros. It's truly, truly epic, with beautiful writing. This could genuinely be a show. It's amazing, just read it.
. this is a harvest by @highgaarden
This, right here, is the perfect Klaroline-within-canon story. This is the story that put my revolt to rest and gave my spirit some much deserved peace where those two are concerned. This is exactly what canon should've been like. I'm not even joking, this is IT. If you'd asked me what I thought the perfect Klaroline development should be like I probably would've said something very vague because I couldn’t explain it, I’m not that great or creative a writer, but now I can just show you this story and let you bask in the amazingness of a fantastic read that will not only keep you thoroughly entertained, but will also be the answer to all the questions you didn't even know you had.
. Paradise Lost by Borzoi
When i grow up, I want to learn how to write like Borzoi. All of their fics are incredible novella-like reads. It's addictive. And this is probably my favorite (it varies though, sometimes I'm in a Parisian Deal era). What happens after Klaus and Caroline sleep together in 5x11, and how they eventually find their way back to each other. It's just one of those stories that you can't stop reading after you start. It's so rich, so deep, so perfectly IC. One of those fics to end all fics.
. The Stubborn Grace of Being Loved Regardless by @helpless-in-sleep One of the modern day classics, if you will. This fic is such a stunning, vivid and delicate picture of Caroline's mind as she was dealing with the consequences of the abuse she suffered at the hands of Damon. She's still human, but she's probably more IC than we've seen her ever on the show when it comes to this. The bond she forms with Klaus is truly incredible too, and speaks a lot of how the two of them really do have a lot in common (even with Caroline still as a human), but it's really the Caroline study part of the story that touches me. The writing is absolutely beautiful as well.
. it takes a while to settle down by theviolinist
This story is a punch to your stomach, but it is PERFECTION in 8k words. It's hot, it's bittersweet, it's SO in character and, in my head, I kinda like to pretend that this is what happened before Caroline married Stefan. lol
. Wanderlust by @bellemorte180 Anybody who was a part of fandom around the time this story was being published can tell you how much of an EVENT it was. There were discussion groups about the mystery. It was so entertaining. Erica's attention to detail and how she wove the little clues throughout the chapters made this a genuine thriller. I particularly some of the side-characters here. It's honestly another fandom staple I think everyone should read.
--
In terms of newer fics that I can rec you, I have two that are on my TBR. One of them is a WIP that I've been slowly going through, and the other one I know was recently finished.
. make them bow by @stars-and-darkness
This was recced to me by two friends recently and I started reading it a while back and thought it was incredible! I have sadly been awful with keeping up with stuff, but just based on the raving reviews and the five chapters I read, I fully believe it to be just as awesome as it seems to be. The writing was so good, and I was just in love with Klaus' voice in this story. It was so reminescent of early-days TVD Klaus, which is by far my favorite Klaus of all. Sexy and dangerous and so smooth. I loved it! Need to get back to it.
. Wolf Club by @Radioactive79
Listen, if you like kid fics, this is absolutely for you. The whole story is narrated by an eight-year-old OC, the daughter of Ray Sutton, the first werewolf Klaus kills when he's trying to start his mass-production of hybrids. She's a little wolf herself, and a while little thing who was subjected to her fair share of child trauma. Klaus has no idea what to do with her, but ends up taking her with him as continues on his journey, and ends up forging a bond with the little girl. I cannot tell you how delicious this story is. It has Klaroline, yes, but for me the little girl is the absolute star of the company. I usually hate OCs, especially children, in fics, but this one is AMAZING. Seriously. The way this story is written is glorious. I can't recommend it enough.

Why do you think that many people tend to devalue Klaus’s relationship with Cami, Aurora, and even Hayley? Honestly, I think that out of all his love interests in the show, Klaus truly only loved Cami, Aurora, and Hayley. Cami understood Klaus very well, and she loved him despite all his flaws. Cami encouraged him to become a better person for Hope. And when Klaus was imprisoned, the person he imagined was Cami.
Klaus was hung up on Aurora for centuries. He painted her constantly. While he loved Cami, he definitely also loved Aurora. He’s the type of person that falls in love forever. And while this is a super unpopular opinion, I think that if he was alive during Legacies, he would’ve ended up with Aurora.
Hayley wasn’t really a love interest and I don’t think Klaus loved her romantically - but he totally loved her platonically. She was his best friend. He truly valued her as a person and respected her so much.
Say what you want about Klaus, but he had excellent taste in romantic partners. All his lovers, including Caroline, are beautiful and amazing. And this is no hate to Caroline and Klaus shippers, but I really think that Klaus only loved Cami, Aurora, and Hayley. His feelings for Caroline are rather shallow when compared to his feelings for Cami, Aurora, and Hayley - so why do you think so many people ship Caroline and Klaus together?
Oh anon, I love talking about Klaus Mikaelson and his fucked up relationships.
Why people ship klaroline? Whenever I come across shippers of them, they always say it's because Klaus and Caroline had the biggest chemistry in all of tvdu. Which, in my opinion, is false. I personally think Caroline looks uncomfortable and pissed off with Klaus in half of their interactions, and their development is so bad done and weird so they just have him give her puppy eyes out of nowhere and have her laughing at his jokes when she hated him the episode before.
I think that a big part of why people ship klaroline is because Caroline was the first woman Klaus showed an romantic interest in in the series. We have Klaus who is the villain, who until the moment has been nothing but evil to everyone around him and out of nowhere he gets soft for her, so people lost their shit and started shipping them like crazy. Which mind you, is exactly like happened: Candice herself said klaroline just happened because the fans liked them.
But in my opinion it was just stupid. If they wanted Klaus to have any interest in Caroline, they should have built it better; the only explanation we get of his interest in her is nearly ten years later when Caroline says in The Originals she believes he only liked her because she reminded him of when he was human, innocent and young. And I kinda get this, because despite how much he goes on about being feared Klaus does love having people who say he can be saved, loved and etc.
The fact that the plot and timeline was often bended to their will is a turn off for many fans as well and it always pissed me off too because it didn't make sense and still doesn't. The biggest example I can think of right now is when Klaus sent her money for the Salvatore school: he was supposed to be trapped in Marcel's dungeon by then, but the timeline of these shows has never made any sense anyway. Or how in they inserted Klaus in every one of Caroline's scenes in The Originals; Daniel Gillies himself was upset by this, they even had to delete some of his scenes to fit hers in, which is a reason of why season five was so rushed and full of bad writing.
But honestly that's the main reason I can think of. Whenever I stumble across a klaroline ship the comments always are "their chemistry" or "they look so good together" and more things about the ship. I honestly think klaroline wouldn't have blew up the way it did if it had been done these last years, but many of the plots that there are in tvd wouldn't have made it to the screen if it had been streaming this year.
I fully agree with his other ships. Canonically Klaus just loved romantically three women: Tatia, Aurora and Camille. However, I don't really think he was in love with Tatia, just infatuated. He's not as affected by her as Elijah is, but once Klaus loves you or he takes a serious romantic interest in someone he really never forgets about them: Camille and Aurora are the biggest proof of this.
Losing Aurora really took a toll on him and shaped him to be the character we know and people often brush over this because they don't like Aurora/for shipping reasons. I think she's his most interesting romantic relationship, and they're my favorite tvdu ship. It's kinda canon he loved her more than any of his other love interests and don't get me wrong, I love Klaus and Camille but in my opinion Klaus always forgot about her whenever Aurora was around which just pissed me off.
If Cami had remained dead by the time Legacies took place, I do believe Klaus and her would have gotten back together. To me, Aurora was never truly evil and I think they should have handled her character better, but Klaus understood her even after everything she did to him and viceversa, and their chemistry is just so perfect and they had sexual tension in every one of their interactions. But if Cami had been alive, I honestly think Klaus would have remained with her.
Everyone who follows me knows I believe Klaus loved Aurora romantically the most, but by the time Legacies takes place Klaus would probably adore Cami a lot more than it's already shown in canon and perhaps they would even be married, and she was good for him and his family. In the modern day, Aurora wasn't good for him or his family at all (she was literally trying to kill Hope) and in general, she needed to work on herself, to try to let go of Tristan's abuse before getting into a relationship with the man whose family is responsible for her fucked up mental health.
However, I do think Hope would stop her family if they tried to kill Aurora, she's really empathetic in these kind of things and they had a slight respect for each other by the time Aurora died. Klaus and her would probably talk, perhaps she would even have a conversation with Camille before leaving to live her best life which it's what should have happened in canon. Hayley would probably thank her for saving her daughter too, and I think they - by this I mean the whole Mikaelson family - would agree to try to not kill each other again, but who knows with them?
I love Klaus and Hayley together. Whether people ship them romantically or not isn't important to me, I can see their potential and though I personally think they wouldn't work, I can understand why other people do. I really like how often she stands up to him whenever she feels he's getting too cocky, or when it comes to their daughter. I love how much their relationship developed in the last three seasons and how gutted he was after her death, he didn't just love her for being his mother's daughter but for being his best friend and family. It was beautiful for me to see how much Hayley fought for him and never gave up, they deserved to raise their daughter together or at least, Hope deserved it.
And I honestly agree: he has amazing taste. I would get with any of these girls in an instant, they're all beautiful.

Klaroline WIP Wednesday: Mixing all the Colors like we're Making a Monet ch2
Y'all asked for this. Partially inspired by @impossiblekryptonitecolor for piquing my interest in Sentinel AUs. This fic is not a Sentinel AU and you do not need any knowledge of Sentinel AUs to understand it, bit some of the underlying themes are there so if you them you might enjoy this too!
“You know love, I always thought champagne was our thing, but I’m starting to believe it might be clubs.” She doesn’t dare open her eyes, too afraid of what more sensory input would do to her, but the smell of cedar wraps around her like a blanket. She breathes it in, and the pounding of her heart slows enough that she can tune into his. It sounds just like it did in Miami, as unique as any fingerprint, and it’s enough to make her let out a sigh of relief, tension leaving her body like a marionette whose strings have just been cut. “Klaus.” She breathes, grateful for the respite. She feels the heat of him prickling near her hand, and grabs his own without thinking, tugging him onto the couch with her. He stiffens in surprise when she buries her face in his shoulder, fingers still interlocked with his, and she doesn’t even care if he has someone waiting for him right now, he’s here, right when she needs him, as he always is. Caroline needs something to ground her in reality, and if there’s one singular thing her senses can focus on, it’s Klaus Mikaelson. Ironic, given that she came here to escape him. With her burrowing into him the way she has, it’s easy to just focus on him. The cedar probably comes from the cologne he wears, because it’s easily the strongest smell, sitting right on the surface. She breathes deeper, still somewhat lightheaded from her momentary freak-out earlier, and she can smell the sharp scent of pine needles, ozone, and death. It’s both fitting and foreboding, and she wonders if the tingling she gets on her tongue when she’s with him really is chemistry, or if it’s a prey response from being so close to a man that screams danger in every foreseeable way. “Caroline, are you alright?” She feels him brush one of her curls away from her face, feels the silky (and undoubtedly expensive) fabric of his shirt on her cheek. If she was a cat she’d be purring. She knows she has about five seconds to answer before he gets impatient and flashes them out of here, witnesses be damned. Still, she’s having a hard time putting the problem into words now that the worst of it is over. “Too much.” She rasps out, trusting him to understand her the way he always does. He hums, and she focuses on the vibrations as she does her best to tune out everything but him. “Vampires have a tendency to blur the lines between regular lust and bloodlust, especially in settings like these. In fledglings, it can make their powers come to the surface against their will.” He pauses, shifting as he tilts her chin up gently. She’s barely had time to take in those stormy eyes she loves so much before he continues, minty breath ghosting against her face, “Your features haven’t changed, likely due to your impressive control, but we should still get you some fresh air.” She swallows thickly, head still swimming, “I think that’s a good idea.” He tells her to wait there and says something to the management, who have her confirm that she knows him (which she does via a picture from Miami that he’s clearly very surprised she kept), before handing her a bottle of water and sending them on their way, Klaus grabbing their coats on the way out. Enzo is going to be so fucking annoying about this.

Klaroline WIP Wed - freaky friday time travel fic
my prompt was the future Caroline Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes swap places and I was like, okay, I am going to shoehorn an entire plot in here after prom but before graduation. author is loading canon and firing it into the sun
-------------------------------
The package was sitting innocently enough on the porch swing when Caroline got home from school. After a weird day of fielding concerned questions from her peers about Elena’s whereabouts–Stefan and Damon locking her in the Boarding House all weekend after prom was a last-ditch effort that looked like it wasn’t working–Caroline wasn’t really in the mood for a surprise.
When a cautious sniff towards the box brought her the acrid smell of oil paint and turpentine, though, she had to bite down on her smile. The smell liked to cling to Klaus after he’d been painting all morning, as she’d discovered two days ago, the morning after prom. She’d been crossing the Square, coming from the Sheriff’s department toward the Mystic Grill to meet Matt for lunch and flashcards, when her name being called pulled her head back to the here and now.
“Caroline!” Klaus’ smile was delighted to see her as he crossed the street to meet her on the grass, dimples brighter on his face than the sunshine, and god wasn’t that cheesy and ironic, just like her agreement to be friends with the nightmare creature that had plagued their lives for months. Even stranger, that she actually wanted to. Okay, maybe he hadn't been plaguing their lives very hard recently. What with the others unleashing Evil Dead and Elena taking home all the queen bitch prizes previously scooped up by Katherine, Klaus had almost seemed like your friendly neighborhood serial killer in comparison.
She waited until he caught up, swinging a large brown paper bag by string handles. “A word of advice?” she offered. He raised his eyebrows in intrigued curiosity. “Don’t go loudly chatting up the Sheriff's teenage daughter in the middle of town when you look like… that,” She gestured at all of him, including his loose-necked henley and comfortable jeans liberally smeared with paint, “Unless you want to get called a dirty old man behind your back.”
The laugh was practically startled out of him. He looked like an artist grad student at most, the kind that would debauch you on the furniture props, but judging by the slightly judgy looks from a few faces she could see around the square, that was too old for just barely eighteen Caroline. Oh yeah, Liz would be hearing about this before the day was out, and wasn't that just what Caroline needed?
Klaus leaned forward slightly, for all the world looked like he was sharing confidences with her. "Do you find me old, sweetheart?" he asked, dimples on display.
"Ancient, decrepit," she deadpanned.
His voice dropped a little softer, and unconsciously this time she leaned in a little to hear him. “You know our kind don’t measure time in years, sweetheart, it’s more about experiences.”
With a scoff and an eye roll, she leaned back. “Oh my god, you did not just ‘Age is just a number’ me. It’s jail for you, sir.”
“Mmm, they haven’t built a prison that can hold me yet, but if you prefer that sort of role-play, I'm sure I could think of something,” he said cheekily.
“Wow, okay!” She laughed, trying not to think of ‘Klaus’ and ‘role-play’ in the same context, “You are feeling much better than the last time I saw you.”
He seemed to sober, tension pinching his soft mouth. “Silas hasn’t shown himself that I’m aware of. Elijah is refusing to hand over the cure to either Rebekah or myself. Her on the grounds that she failed her trial, and me…” Klaus glanced away.
Caroline tried to dredge up some sympathy, really she did. “Well, we are all very much hoping there will not be an apocalypse hell-on-earth. I never met your parents and I would like to keep that track record going, thanks.” Klaus ducked his head, laugh soft, and Caroline nearly preened. “So, what’s in the bag? Thumb screws? Arsenic? Stolen lollipops?”
“Your imagination is a never-ending delight, love. There’s an art supply shop down the street that orders my paints for me. Which is fortunate, I was getting low on Cadmium Orange.” His fingers fiddled with the bag string.
“That is a very specific color,” she teased gently.
He tilted his head to the side in a self-deprecating sort of way. “Well, I need it for a very specific bit of shading, you see. The fall,” he gestured vaguely with one hand at some unseen painting, “Isn’t quite right. I’ve been working on it all night.”
Wrinkling her nose at him, she adjusted her purse on her shoulder. “Is that why you have that ‘freshly bathed in linseed oil’ smell?” Knowing she was about to set the tongues wagging but unable to resist the look it would put on his face, she reached out and snagged his hand, flipped it over backside up. Bright yellow paint was smeared on his skin. “You missed a spot.” she pointed out helpfully.
He rumbled softly in his throat. “So I did.” When Caroline looked up, his hungry blue eyes were on her, quiet, watchful of what she’d do next.
“So,” she said, drawing out the vowel, “I’m supposed to meet Matt for lunch.”
“The human?” Klaus managed to fit a world of disgruntled judgment into two words.
“Ugh.” Caroline dropped his hand with a bit of force. “Matt is failing some of his classes and needs a study buddy. I happen to be queen of the flashcards, thank you very much. Finals are next week, and I just want…” She paused, emotion clawing up her throat and she swallowed. Blinked. The sun that seemed so bright before–but not warm, never warm, never again–seemed a pale imitation of itself. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Klaus’s hand hovering next to her arm as if wondering if his touch was unwelcome.
This wasn’t helpful, this wasn’t what she needed, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the Square, for god’s sake. Her chin raised, she looked Klaus in the eye. He looked solemnly back. “I just want us to make it through graduation. All of us. So.” She pasted a smile on her face. “I do what I can, which means flashcards.”
Something bitter tilted his mouth. “The talents of a general and they have you tutoring the quarterback.”
Caroline scowled at him. “It’s not a waste of my time to care about my friends. You certainly benefited from that.” With a huff, she turned to go, and he stepped sideways into her path.
“Admitting you care, love?” There was something predatory about the glint in his eyes.
Raising her eyebrows loftily, she pushed past him, trying to ignore the heat from his body that seemed to cling to hers. “In your dreams, Klaus,” she shot over her shoulder as she headed toward the Mystic Grill.
While her vampire hearing might have been bogged down by the noise in the Square, she was annoyingly attuned to Klaus’ presence. His parting words reached her easily: “Someday, you will.”

Reader Bingo Board 3: Top Row Bingo
For context, there were three full Bingo boards, then all three versions condensed to be 4x4 and finally all three versions condensed to be 3x3. Here is one way to score bingo on the third board.
Tumblr media
Role Reversal
As I Lay Dying by princessoftheworlds
Summary:
Tom. The baby vampire one-tenth of her age. She cannot even bear to think about their kiss from last night. It had been pure lust at first. Then something genuine had started to leak into the kiss. Some tender affection, light and pure, had found a clutch on her blackened, dark heart, and she swore that, when there was a burst of warmth in the pit of her stomach, some tingling feeling almost like the clichéd butterflies, she was incapable of feeling such things. It was all too much, so she pulled away and caught a glimmer of hurt and disappointment in Tom’s eyes, something she was sure that he himself was unware of, before it was covered up by confusion. Immediately, that warm, tingly feeling evaporated For Tomione Day. Klaroline!AU
2. Teacher/Student
Personal Preference by seollem
Summary:
Professor Riddle is pleased with his new protégé.
3. Marks/Hickeys
It Comes With the Teething by yuwoo
Summary:
He's just bent over and said something he can't remember in the moment—something genial, something congruous with his reputation—when the girl rolls back on her heels and he inhales her hair. He almost doubles over as he spits. An A/B/O fic where Tom has a drooling problem.
4. Car Sex
(Okay, the sex doesn't happen in the car, but shhh!)
Neon Roads by quinault
Summary:
A mysterious stranger, a hijacked car and a night that promises to end badly. [Inspired by Drive (2011) and Mr. Robot]
5. Alpha/Omega
A Dildo a Day by mrsren
Summary:
Hermione Granger is in heat. As resourceful as she is, she knows just how to get herself through another heat cycle. What she hadn't planned on was accidentally moaning the Head Boy's name where he could hear her.

SEND ME A SHIP (+ number) AND I WILL TELL YOU... Carol/Maria 2, 15 (Captain Marvel/The Marvels) and because I am me! Hizzie 10, 11, 20
Carol and Maria
2. ...why I do or don't ship them.
I ship them. I ship them quite a LOT. And that's because from the MOMENT we started seeing those flashbacks, it felt like I was watching a love story.
And then they had their reunion and Maria looked like the breath had been knocked right out of her chest. And Carol with this hangdog expression? And the piles of photographs that Maria had kept to remember Carol?
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, but this isn't just friendship.
Add in amnesia during which most of the memories that were trying to break through revolved around Maria and her daughter? A kid that Carol was clearly around so much that even after YEARS of being missing she still seemed to think Carol hung the moon? I mean, COME ON, I can be expected to be only so strong here.
And The Marvels did NOT help. If anything Carol was pining after all that she had lost even MORE.
It's like a tragic fairy tale.
15. ...how I wish their story would go/would have gone.
Well first of all I wouldn't have killed Maria. Because it's stupid and I hate it.
Second of all I wouldn't have had Carol ghosting the woman she was clearly in love with and their daughter for 20 years.
Because it's stupid and I hate it.
Or if I did do that, then The Marvels would have involved a very chaotic Time Travel fix it.
Ideally she'd have remained in contact and gotten back together with Maria in the intervening years (FYI here's a fic I found where Carol does go back and it's adorable (or here's an old fic I wrote that contains a smidge of how I would have wanted Carol to have kept in touch)) and though I do think I want to have kept Monica getting dusted by the Snap (because I do enjoy SOME angst), Maria would have been snapped too.
And then Carol would have gotten the both of them BACK.
But that was ideally.
Now, my hopes rest on Carol finding a way to get back the stranded Monica (or to join her). Because if they're making this Alternate Universe Maria be kind of a mirror of Carol... then let's go all the way here and have this Maria be mourning her Carol the same way our Carol is mourning her Maria.
Tumblr media
They can be each other's second chance.
---
Hope and Lizzie
Tumblr media
10. ...rate the level of stupid they reach in their pining.
Can we reach levels above 10 out of 10? Because... duuude. When you have Lizzie constantly casting herself to play one half of a romcom couple and yet convinced that she's the matchmaker, or third wheel? And Hope being Lizzie's Totally Personal Hero? And Lizzie constantly pulling a Prince Charming on Hope? And Hope obsessing over Lizzie while lacking humanity all at the same time saying with her whole chest how she cares nothing about Lizzie?
AND BOTH OF THEM SOMEHOW COMPLETELY IGNORING THE BIG FLASHING LIGHT OF THE SIRE BOND AND WHAT THAT MEANS?
*voice full of saccharine condescension*: 'oh, honey'.
11. ...how quickly I started shipping them when I got into the fandom.
If memory serves me right... I started shipping them pretty early on. Wayyyyy early on, like before 1x12 even.
But where it became serious was the episode with the dress.
Like, the fact that she just went 'this family heirloom dress needs to be worn by the prettiest girl I know'? Goddammit, Lizzie.
Tumblr media
And then of course there's the way you just have to admire the sheer gall of pulling a Klaroline parallel unintentionally?
But most of all... it might have been the way Lizzie spent the episode protectively glaring at the jealous boys. And the way she rushed over to hug Hope when she was about to have her breakdown in the middle of the dance floor.
Also. That face. Specifically.
Tumblr media
20. ...how and when they should get/should have gotten together.
Ideally, at the end of the season 5 that never was.
I consider s4 to be the season where Lizzie realized and accepted that she's in love with Hope. Burt also accepted the idea that it was never going to happen and chose to try to move on.
S5 should have been the season where Lizzie is trying to do that while Hope is coming to accept that there's feelings there from her side too and that the idea that she might have realized that too late hurts.
Culminating in a big fight where they finally drop all the cards on the table and address all the things they'd been skirting over.

Note
for the choose violence asks let’s go with 1, 8, 14, 17, 21, 23, and 25!
the character everyone gets wrong
Caroline or rather how some interpretations turn her into a perfect girlboss.
She had some relatable flaws.
Being jealous of her friend and being in a one-sided competition with her. Not having a filter and letting the insensitive, socially unacceptable things come out of her mouth. She was downright harsh. Not being able to keep a secret.
The whole "being a vampire made her better" thing is strange to me. She was still wildly jealous. With Tyler and that random party girl. With Stefan later when she thinks he and Elena are getting along too well?
I think the only thing that changed with her character is that the telegraphing of those scenes are done in a way to make it seem like she's a boss when in reality, she is still that insecure girl. Which is understandable and relatable. How many of us have insecure moments?
common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Some people act like the sire bond broke after Elena turned off her humanity and I think all that happened was she got a reprieve from it but every time we see her after she is tortured gets her humanity back is a moment when she's sired to Damon.
It's why she handles his death so differently than the other deaths she experiences. I think the sire bond was trying to drag her down with him.
that one thing you see in fics all the time
Reading mostly Klena, I see a lot of Klaus being obsessed with the bite mark he would have left on Elena and making him possessive over it.
there should be more of this type of fic/art
More rarepair art and fics! I honestly just love them. They aren't canon? Good. They barely had scenes together? Fantastic. They weren't even in the same show? Stellar.
On a real note, the thing I think I'm starting to pin down about my love of rarepairs is how creative you have to be to write them. There is no canon to follow. This is all from your own head and I eat it up.
part of canon you think is overhyped
Klaroline.
I just - don't really understand where the connection was supposed to come from. He put her life in danger to show Tyler the control he had over him and then heals her. And she's like "are you going to kill me" and he's upset that she thinks he'd be a monster on her birthday. And that made him like her?
Ultimately Caroline chose Stefan, the man she'd been pining for since the first episode despite his commitment to her friend and Klaus never really did much to pursue her. He wanted to be her last love but then just...meh?
It just seems people mostly like how those two actors look together and the chemistry they had. Which....the show is full of hot people. They all mostly had chemistry with each other.
ship you've unwillingly come around to
Forwood.
The vocalness of the KC fandom made me just want to turn my brain off for this but the more I think about it the more I like their early days. One of the rare friends to lovers ships that I enjoy. And I think a lot of it had to do with him being there for her with Matt and her being there for him with his supernatural journey.
They really could have been cute all the way through. Just a stable, supportive couple for the entirety of the series. I think it needed some stability in that way.
common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
Elena is a crybaby.
And so what if she does cry a lot? So what if any of the female presenting characters cry? What is it about women crying that makes us point to them and claim they are too "emotional" as if it is a bad thing but when a male character kills someone's friend or relative because he got rejected that isn't "too emotional".

A small Klaroline drabble bc i miss writing, no promises I'll ever do more than this, but wrote this in an hour based on this amazing prompt.
Tumblr media
Some friends joined for the sprint and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of their brains! If you see this, feel free to write on this prompt too and tag me, whatever ship!
---------------------------------
Long as I Can See the Light
The night is dark and full of horrors, and she is very much one of them. Dried blood cracks on fingers clutched tight on the wheel for the 24th straight hour of hurtling towards a ten year inevitability. She runs a tongue along her teeth, the taste of copper still strong despite the hour. She is shaking, shaken, what she calls vampire guilt lighting her synapses, images flashing across her field of vision. Elena lying still, Stefan’s face anguished above her, the stabbing motion through a chest wall, the feel of a heart in her hands. It still beats, for a moment, after it’s removed, did you know? An unbidden reminder of life clinging in spite of it all.
Caroline’s never been sure she’ll ever get over those moments, and now she’s not sure if magic will let her. She feels the panic rise, a physical sensation that has her clutching the wheel harder, blowing air out through her nose, calm breaths one two in out calm calm calm.
Panic won’t help this situation, not in the least, and the only thing that will is close enough that now the panic shifts focus to the coming reunion.
What’s he been doing all this time? Would he even remember her? She’s pretty sure the answer is yes. After all, she's had quite a bit to worry about on her plate yet somehow she still found time to remember the rasp of his stubble on her thighs. Not now, Caroline.
God.
The smell of the city hits her like a freight train, sweet decay, earth and muck and something ageless and unnamed beneath the typical scents of civilization. She glances down at her phone in the passenger seat, a chipper Australian voice telling her to turn off on the next exit for Esplanade and tries to ignore the smudges beneath her eyes, stark in the rearview mirror. There’s just no time to look her best. She isn’t even sure what time she has, whether things had already been set in motion the moment her hand sliced through that man’s rib cage.
She isn’t sure of anything except that Klaus is the only one who will know what to do.
-----------------------------------
Klaus steps back from his work, eyeing the canvas with a thousand years of experience. Something about the light source is off, and he rocks forward, using a palette knife to daub shadows amidst the light. It's fixed now, masterful even if he says so himself, but somehow not enough.
Nothing really is these days. He knows and recognizes the ennui of an eternal existence, but that certainly doesn't make it easier to bear. Maybe someone needed killing. Maybe he needs to see the Northern Lights again. Maybe he needs to torture Rebecca. Something, anything to break up the monotony which spreads years out like taffy, stretching beyond human lifetimes, beyond anything but his own kind's lifetimes.
And there is the rub - immortality is, in the end, unbelievably boring. What new things to see and delight in when you’ve experienced it all? It becomes a matter of degrees, a matter of who you share those experiences with. His thoughts flash to a place he’d pretended long buried. He lets go of the pretense in times like these, testing the weight of promise like a tongue against a loose tooth - funny the things that stick with you through the millenia - and thinks of breaking it.
He won’t. He knows this, but the act of testing the bonds makes him feel like he’s in control of this feeling; this strange, heart-flipping, enraging and exhilarating feeling. He thinks of checking in on Mystic Falls but the last time he did he had severed the head of the reporting hybrid with the force of his thrown mobile, and he didn’t need to see what surprises Kol would program into his replacement phone this time.
He inhales in an action long useless and looks at the canvas, the play of shadows and light, and reaches a hand out to play god. Voices rise, a sussuration that reaches through the plaster, and he sets down his palette with annoyance, deciding that if art isn’t the answer, perhaps a spot of death would be.
He descends the staircase, hand trailing down the antique balustrade, fingers picking up trails of dust he’ll need to eat the housekeeper for, and approaches the voices. Two men - some of his guards, Thierry and Alan perhaps, and a higher pitched voice interrupting, tone demanding with a note of desperation behind it that his mind latches on to before the rest of his thoughts catch up and he realizes that Caroline Forbes is in his foyer, her form emerging as he rounds the landing, her legs bare, covered in blood and her face sallow and oh, the dichotomy of vampire, he hates it, he hates himself, he hates her, he thinks she is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
“Caroline?” His voice betrays nothing to her, and he watches her stifle a flash of annoyance that almost makes him smile.
“Hi, Klaus. Can you get your lackeys to back down? No offense, lackeys,” she says, offering one of the vampires clutching her arm a bright smile. “I just know how he is.”
They drop her arms at a word and step away, leaving the two of them standing alone in the foyer. The sound of locusts whirring outside is almost overwhelming as she lifts her eyes to his, searching.
He’s not sure if she finds what she’s looking for, but she speaks anyway, her eyes bright and trembling.
“I killed a hunter last night, and I didn’t know where else to go.”

tvd 3x11 rewatch thoughts
okay Bonnie should've been way more pissed at Jeremy for cheating on her AFTER SHE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD + LOST HER CONNECTION TO THE WITCHES?? like.. what? absolutely no consequences for him?
the hybrids are way too easy to kill like why don't they have better instincts, how exactly are they superior? just bc a stake doesn't kill them?
At the risk of turning into a tyler lockwood stan account, everyone gave tyler soooo much shit for being sired to klaus as if he chose it or had any control over it and YET when klaus tells him to bite caroline he does what he can to not do that
speaking of - telling tyler to bite her is the first time klaus has acknowledged Caroline's existence and later this episode he's telling her to live life and what not? why? where did that come from? this man doesn't care ab his hybrids that he spent a millenia trying to make but he cares about this random girl he's never spoken to before?
also like why don't they have an alpha situation going on? if they're part werewolves and they're sired shouldn't he also have an alpha instinct? idk how the werewolves thing works
The wickery bridge scene is so good. Stefan's voice crack at the end when he tells her he doesn't care what elena thinks 🥺
liz and matt are way too chill about caroline getting bit like my girl is on her death bed lmao
okay WHY does klaus care about caroline wanting to die or not? why is he telling her that there's more to life? the fact that he personally came to deliver the cure itself barely makes sense but at least they gave a reason - winning sheriff forbes support (which means nothing lbr) but he's saying all this to Caroline for what? how does he even know she's having an existential crisis?
oh forwood/klaroline parallel where they both get her a bracelet for her birthday

what are your top ten favorite klaroline fics?
Hello, nonnie! I see your asks have made the rounds. Really nice to see lots of rec lists circulating!
I had to give this a thought. It's very hard to come up with just 10. I could easily do a part II. 😂 But without further ado, and in no particular order, 10 of my favorite KC fics:
. The Parisian Deal by Borzoi
I honestly vary between The Parisian Deal and Paradise Lost as my favorite Borzoi fics. It depends. I think I'm in my Parisian Deal era, though. I've recced this a few times over the last few months, whenever someone's asked me for my favorites or humanity-less Caroline fics. For me, this is the best one that comes to mind. Borzoi's fics are all brilliant. I love their writing style to bits. It reads like a novel, it draws in and it grips you by the throat until the very end. This one features Klaus being called to the rescue by a desperate Salvatore clan when Caroline turns off her humanity and fucks off to Europe. Unlike her friends, Klaus doesn't threaten her, doesn't try to force her to feel; instead, he offers her a deal. And it's perfect. I love this story with my whole heart, I can't even tell you.
. In the Backseat by Lila2
After leaving Hayley as a wolf in the Bayou and earning the hatred of his entire family, Klaus shows up with baby Hope on Caroline's doorstop. He has no idea what to do with a baby, is too proud to apologize and is in desperate search of some validation, which invariably leads her back to her (just like in 5x11). Caroline is torn between being mad at him for having a baby with freaking Hayley, and also the fact that she loves kids and there's a part of her that resents him precisely because he gets to have them, when she never will. In her own way, Caroline puts him in his place and convinces him to make amends and go home, take Hope back to her mother - but only if she comes with him on the road trip. And boy, is it worth it. 🥰 It's a fic that has the baby as a catalyst for everything, at the center of everyone's woes in different ways, but it's not about the baby, in case you're a baby fic hater. And the writing is just chef's kiss.
. the birth and death of the day by @little-miss-sunny-daisy
For a good while there, this fic was my entire fandom personality. Whenever anyone gave me a second of their time, I'd preach about the birth and death of the day. I was obsessed. Kelly is a brilliant writer, so, so, so talented. I am not kidding when I saw I wish I could write like her. And the greatest proof of that is how this fic was everything to me, in spite of not being at all my cup of tea on the tin. I don't like Supernatural, I never watched more than two episodes, and the Klaroline bit here kind of takes on a secondary role to the end of the of the world. But it's such an intense and brilliant character study on Caroline that it had my whole heart from the start. Her relationship with her BROTHERS Dean and Sam is so heartfelt, and it exposes so much of who Caroline really is as a character. The plot is INSANE and AMAZING and HUGE and it's so incredible how it ties in so seamlessly with the Mystic Falls shenanigans. And then there is Klaus! When I saw secondary, I don't mean irrelevant. I just mean there's more to the story than just their relationship. But it is still brilliantly developed. Honestly, just writing about it brings me back memories. I love it so much.
. Quiet Light by @definedareasofuncertainty
I am biased when it comes to Luiza's fics because I'm a fangirl and I have been one since day one, before we even became friends. But in the years (years 🥲 we have been here so long, friend) we have known each other, her writing has only gotten better and better. It's atmospheric and understated and it has this mindfulness about it that I can't really explain. It really feels like being in the characters' stream of thinking, you get instantly pulled into it. It evokes emotions without it ever having to be minutely described, and I think that's such an incredible talent. I wish I could write like this! And Quite Light not only brings all of those things forward, but it also brings COMPLEXITIES and MORAL QUARRELLS and it was also WRITTEN FOR ME. 😌✨ Luiza thought she was getting revenge on me by torturing Elijah, but LITTLE DID SHE KNOW I actually loved it. I went into this thinking it would be just a rom-com style story (which I love), but it's so much more. By the end I was crying real tears. 🥲 It becomes such a beautiful story about the relationship between Klaus and Elijah. Honestly brilliant.
. light years by @definedareasofuncertainty
Honestly, this fic has a very specific target audience, and that target audience is ME. I'm not even exaggerating; this is one my favorite pieces of fic ever written in the KC fandom. The way a Klarolijah fic speaks to me can be so personal. 🥺 I love the Klarolijah dynamic. I really do. But it takes a very specific balance for me to feel it. It can very easily go from me loving it, to me wanting to throttle someone. And this! THIS!! This is absolutely it. 🥲 And it's just about my favorite thing ever. This is actually three mini drabbles combined into one. Each of them is written through a different POV - Klaus', Elijah's and Caroline's. And the combination of all three, the way they tell the same story through different eyes, is just !!!!!!!!! Honestly, I don't have words. This has ✨Yokan my beloved✨ written all over it and I feel it very much. Luiza has a ridiculous talent for writing things on the spot. She got prompted to write an Elijah piece, and then a Caroline piece, and then a Klaus one, and she wrote them all in like 30 minutes on one of her mini drabbles challenge, and OH MY FUCKING GOD. I hate her for how good she is. 😭 (I don't, I love her, but I also v much envy her talent).
. this is a harvest by @highgaarden
I spent a solid few minutes here thinking about which of Hannah's fics I wanted to list, because she has this huge catalogue and I've basically read all of them and have gushed over almost every single one over the years. But even though there are others that could easily be in my top 10, I always end of going back to This is a Harvest. I remember when I first read it, I closed the tab at the end and was just… Done. Not in a 'I can't stand this story/ship/fandom anymore', but in a 'this is the fic to end all fics' kind of way. And it's not so much about the style or the writing, which are both stunning, but the way the story is told. It's a canon divergence that spans over years and I felt it in my heart that this was where the story could've gone. The choices they could've made. The way Caroline's story could and should have ended. And I was satisfied. I started writing and reading KC fanfiction after TO was over because I was so indignant about the way the show ended, so unhappy that I needed to give it my own spin, and read other folks doing the same, and when I read this story I felt like I had achieved that. This is it, I can put this to rest.
Obviously, I was way too deep by then that I couldn't really abandon the fandom (even though, just between us here, I kind of wish I could), but for a whole week or two, I was at peace. This fic gave me peace. That's it.
. Into the Woods by @jinxedwood
"But Yokan, how would you like to see Klaus' part in Legacies play out?" Like this. Exactly like this. This story accepts the finale we were dealt in The Originals, and then makes something absolutely amazing with it. I love the premise, I love the mythology involved, I love how unique this take is, and I love how even though it's poignant and bittersweet, it still packs up everything about Kc that made me love this ship so much. Caroline has been in Europe for years trying to find a way to help her daughters with their Gemini situation, and then she ends up stumbling across something else entirely. While she thought the thing she most wanted to see on a brief stint on the Other Side would be Gemini witches, her heart betrays her by taking her to who she really misses the most.
. it takes a while to settle down by theviolonist
This story is so old school it was written before Steroline. It's about Tyler. But we all know who Caroline ends up marrying, so in my heart, this is really what happens before Caroline marries Stefan. And honestly, it works just as well. This story is a punch to your stomach, but it is PERFECTION in 8k words. It's hot, it's bittersweet, it's SO in character. Caroline's denial, telling herself that Klaus is there to see her because he still ones revenge on Tyler, when it becomes very obvious, very fast, as it always does on the show, that it's never about Tyler, it's all about her. UGH. Honestly, brilliant. (third fic on this list with a The National reference on the title, I SENSE A PATTERN).
. As One Wishes to Live by @lalainajanes
I had never in my life read a genie!AU, and simply could not wrap my mind around anything of the sort that wouldn't be extreme crack!fic. Imagine my surprise upon reading this story. It's bittersweet in the best possible way. At the same time it's endearing and adorable (and so very IC) to watch Caroline fumbling for a fair and non-insane way to handle Klaus, the genie Katherine accidentally gifted her with (and who just happens to look incredibly alluring), it's so very poignant to read Klaus' POV. He's Klaus in the way that he's suspicious and dismissive and kind of snobbish, really, but he's resigned to his fate. This is a Klaus who has been broken by years of enslavement as this prop who's there exclusively to serve others. Every time he mentions one of his past masters, you just get that stab - and so does Caroline. Laine is one of the most prolific and talented KC writers ever, and I have read and enjoyed so, so many of her fics, but this definitely has a special place in my heart.
. Psychedelic Kicks by @notalittlebutalottie
This is an ensemble story that has Klaroline at heart, but that gives every other character a moment to shine. And shine they do! Everyone gets their own side stories, and absolutely loved following every single one of them. Lottie made me care for characters I hate in canon, like Katherine and Kol. Even Stefan and Elena had my heart here. This fic is a journey, full of ups and downs, and it has such a satisfying end. It's also incredibly original in its setting and tone, which I think it's one of Lottie's greatest talents. It's very are for historical fics to be set in the 60s, and not only did Lottie choose this very particular time, but she also did such a remarkable job incorporating the decades' aspects into the story. Not just the fashion, and the music, and Woodstocky vibes, but the social and political unrest as well. This is a story with LAYERS, my friends, and it's incredible. I could totally see this being a TV show or a movie tbh. It's that good.

Nothing in TVDU fandom is more annoying than fake Haylijah stans who are actually Klaroline stans feeling threatened by Klayley's potential.
Like— leave Hayley's ships alone. They are like roaches, they obviously hate Hayley (or any woman that is in a "competition" with Caroline in their minds) yet they pretend to be a fan because they can't admit that they feel threatened.
This shit happens when they try to involve Delena/Stelena too. They don't give a shit about Elena or Stefan, they just ship them together because they hate to admit the fact that Caroline’s true love was Stefan. Or they use Delena as a reason why Klaroline didn't happen.
"Julie knew Klaroline would OUTSHINE delena." Shut up. Klaroline wasn't supposed to be a thing in the first place, you got more than you deserved from the writers. Delena was inevitable from the start, whether you liked it or not.
Honestly, the only good thing Julie ever did, was to keep her people pleaser ass away for a moment and NOT make Klaroline endgame, that ship had enough fan service already.
Omfg do I agree , Jesus I don't think I've ever come across a Haylijah who isn't a Klaroliner who gets absolutely defensive over them and have the "platonic soulmates☺️" bullshit under pretty much any klayley edit like please stfu or smth and leave them alone idk??
Haylijah is genuinely the blandest worst written ship in the three shows and that's genuinely the consensus amongst not even klayleys but trust me every unbiased person I've come across in this fandom who doesn't give two shits about them/Klaroline will tell you the same thing
Also how dumb do you have to be to think Julie, the biggest attention seeker who capitalized on ship wars for years only fucked over one of her popular ships out of insecurity and not the fact Klaus had no place in tvd anyway since the beginning, steroline was in the works since season 2 and the ship never made any sense anyways and was more of a "test moment" which are Candice's words herself about what happened in the writers room and how random the ship was
Like once my people here accept that Klaroline as a "relationship" never existed, Caroline spent 99% of their run hating his guts and wishing him death and Klaus didn't give a fuck about her either outside of the fun of humbling Tyler this fandom will kinda heal

Joseph Morgan smut
I never really see any Joseph Morgan smut so why not make some ~btw I’m not the best at this so bare with me
*third person pov*
Y/n and Joseph have been a little distant lately where he still has to finish filming the originals
It hasn’t really been the best for y/n her instagram comments are full of fat jokes
Why? Bcuz everyone is jealous of her relationship with Joseph everyone was still stuck on the one ship in the vampire diaries klaroline
Did it hurt her a little? Yes ofc she loves Joseph with everything in her
*y/ns pov*
Im laying in bed like usual waiting for Joseph to get back from filming it’s currently 10:00 am I decent to go on instagram knowing it’s not the best decision ex specially with all of the hate knowing I’m going to start getting insecure again and oh boy was I right
Hundreds of comments calling me fat, ugly, people saying Joseph deserves better, or that I’m to young for him I am 25 yes that’s a 16 year age gap but if he doesn’t have a problem with it should It really matter
Everyone truly believes I’m just after him bcuz he’s famous no he came to me at a time when I needed someone and I fell inlove with him
As I finish reading the comments I feel tears feel up my eyes i figured it’s better if I turned off my phone and layed down so that’s what I did and soon dosed off
It was around 11:00 when I heard the door open I knew he was home but tried to fall back to sleep but after a few minutes I feel the other side of the bed dip and arms wrap around me
Y/n luv are you awake? I hear his soft British accent echo in my ears I soon feel his hand slowly come to my face rubbing my dried tears
“Luv I know your awake I can tell when your faking you know” he says in a soft tone
I slowly open my eyes to see Joseph already looking at me
“Why have you been crying sweetheart”he says sounding concerned
Just stuff but I’m glad your home” I sigh cuddling into his arms
It’s the comments again isn’t it? I didn’t answer him but I knew he could feel me nod into his chest
“My sweet girl don’t listen to then your nothing of those thing they say , you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, you are the one I love” his voice spoke soft and sounded so innocent
“Joseph?”
“Yes my luv”
“Do you think I’m too young for you or not good enough?” I spoke quietly
“Of course not I wouldn’t be here right now if I truly believed what any of them said” his words followed a kiss connecting to my forehead
“And if you don’t believe my words then let ne show you princess” his lips soon connected to my lips
Our tongues slide together his hands going to the side of my face pulling me closer
He soon pulls me over onto his lap
His hands go down to my hips gripping them pushing me down on his lap
I can feel him poking me through his sweats as his hands much there way up my shirt taking it off and unclipping my bra
After he gets my top half fully undressed he flips us over so he’s hovering over me
“Ahh what a beautiful site” he says but doesn’t sound very innocent anymore
His mouth connects to my breast, his tongue swirling around my nipple
I could feel his hands going down to my pants slowly sliding them down and off my ankle leaving me in nothing but my thong
“I think these will have to go luv” he spoke hooking his fingers around them taking them off like he did with my pants
As he hovers over me his eyes scan my body I soon start remembering all of the comments making me feel like I’m fat I put my over my stomach but he jerks up back up above my head
“Ahh what do you think your doing sweetheart?”
“Uh-nothing” I spoke out shyly
“That’s what I thought now be a good girl and keep your hands up there tonight is about you” his lips connect to my neck making there way down farther and farther until they make it to where I need him most
He slowly spreads my legs placing his lips on mine ;)
“ I can’t believe this is all mine” he started off with sticking one digit in but it soon turns into two
At this point I’m a moaning mess his mouth lapping me at clit like its his last meal and his fingers pumping in and out of me I feel my stomach tighten I know I’m close
“So tight and wet for me are you close yet my luv”
I couldn’t even get out an yes without screaming as I came around his fingers
As I’m a panting mess he makes me look him in the eyes as he kisses me lining his self up with me he asks
“Is this okay sweetheart”
“ god yes please I need you” I didn’t have to say that twice before he started pounding in and out of me
I throw my head back my back arching digging my nails into his back and every thrust made me moan louder and louder as I got closer
“Fuck luv so tight who’s pussy is this”
I couldn’t anwser the pleasure slowly took over my body
“I said who’s pussy is this” he grunts out
“All yours it’s all yours daddy” I scream out
“Good girl”
That was enough for me I came all over his cock
He falls down in the bed beside me
“God that was amazing”
“Fuck yeah” I saw cuddling into his chest
As I close my eyes I realize I haven’t took my birth control and he didnt pull out
“Omg Joseph”
“What’s wrong?” He jumps up worried
“You didnt pull out”
“Aren’t you off birth control”
“No Joseph we talked about it I thought we both agreed I was gonna stop taking it for a while”
“So you could get pregnant?” He asks as he starts to smile
“Yeah” I sigh
“ you don’t want to have a kid?”
“Ofc I want to have a kids but what if you don’t and you leave?” I spoke quietly
“I want to start a family with you more the anything princess” he says raising up kissing me

I don’t think that it’s talked about enough how weird the fandom is for pitting Hope against Caroline. Some people have an obsession in making Hope and Caroline compete for Klaus’s love and affection. People claim that Klaus loves Caroline more and that he would pick her over Hope every time. They will make up fake situations in which Klaus can only save one person, and he of course picks Caroline over Hope.
I think everyone knows that Klaus loves Hope more - that’s not really debatable. But I honestly don’t get this weird obsession over making Klaus pick Caroline. This obsession is strange, odd, and kinda disturbing.
Hope’s not one of Klaus’s love interests trying to steal him away from Caroline. She’s his literal daughter. Imagine if a stepmom got angry about the fact that her husband loves his daughter more than her - everyone would be justifiably weirded out. Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t want to be with a guy who would pick me over his own children.
And anyway, why does it even have to be a competition? Why can’t Klaus love Hope while also loving Caroline? Why does Klaus have to love Caroline more than Hope?
Of course, this obsession isn’t solely based on Caroline and Klaus shippers. All of Klaus’s love interests are somehow always in competition with Hope for Klaus’s love. It’s very important for the some people in fandom that Klaus loves his love interest more than he does his daughter for some reason.
And I find it odd that it’s mostly this fandom that does this weird competition between child and potential stepparent In OUPT, no one is said that Emma Swan loved Hook more than her son. In The Walking Dead, no one claimed that Rick loved Michonne more than his son.
And even in this fandom, this weird competition is only between Hope and Klaus’s love interest. No one is demanding that Caroline love Klaus more than Lizzie or Josie. No one is claiming that Hayley loved Elijah more than Hope.
Its just kinda creepy to me how people will go on rants and say that Klaus loves another woman over his daughter when the love for his daughter is completely different from whatever romantic love he feels for some other woman.
This may come as bashing towards Klaus’s ships. Really, don't ignore this. Don't blame me if you get your feelings hurt.
People have been bitter about Klaus having a daughter since the baby plot was introduced because they knew it would mean his priorities/love would shift.
Sure, Klaus says he intends to wait for Caroline however long it takes (a fake promise he didn't intend to accomplish, in my opinion, especially because once Caroline finally admitted they had something going on he said he would leave and never come back), but that changed when Hope came into the picture because then Caroline wouldn't be his greatest love, his favorite person, etc etc. It's not a surprise klaroline fans often think Caroline was the woman he loved the most romantically even when their interactions prove otherwise, and it's not something new either how much they hate whenever a new woman is introduced in his life (at least in the romantic aspect). Cami is the biggest proof of this.
Parents often love their children more than anything and Klaus did love Hope more than everything (I'm not gonna have the same debate again, if you think he loved Hayley/Caroline/Cami more grow up, seriously), even if he didn't act like it. He isn't a good father, obviously, but at least his daughter was the most important thing in his life. Seeing as Cami isn't a really big Klaus’s ship, Hayley and Caroline are, in klayley/klaroline shippers eyes, the women Klaus loved the most when it took like three seasons for both relationships to get along.
It's canon Klaus was sexually attracted to Hayley even in season three (I believe it was stated somewhere by Michael Narducci, but it was obvious anyway), and he clearly was attracted to Caroline too, and I'm pretty sure both girls felt the same way as they literally had sex, but lust has never been an equal to romantic love and we're talking about the man who slept with any pretty female who challenged him, Klaus feels sexually attracted to almost everybody. Klaus never loved Hayley romantically, and he never loved Caroline like that either in my opinion, but even if he did he still would not chose them over his own daughter.
Any time he has put somebody else above Hope, has always been because he was hurt or influenced by someone else's actions (see this post to see what I mean), and I acknowledge he's a selfish git who does what he wants, but Klaus would never actually put anyone over his daughter once everything was said and done. I mean, the only reason as to why he even rekindled his relationships with Hayley and Caroline was because of Hope, and his relationship with Hayley actually started because of Hope, because otherwise they would've gone their separate ways after sleeping together.
Klaus has a fucked up mentality, but his love for his daughter was probably the only thing that was a constant for him. How the fandom makes it a competition is crazy, because Hayley and Caroline didn't care about him that much either. Hayley was willing to let Klaus die in season four if that meant Elijah (the man she loved the most btw) would return to her, and Caroline literally married Stefan and went on with her life without thinking twice about Klaus.
Caroline doesn't love Stefan or Klaus more than she loves Lizzie and Josie, Hayley doesn't love Elijah or Jack more than she loves Hope and that's something people need to see because honestly, it's getting tiring.

Klaroline Wip Wed: Bloodied Edges of the Crystal Queen
Yes I started another fic. No I don't feel shame about it. I won't give away much but basically, it's a fantasy story with some very very mild Harry Potter influences and some found family adjacent vibes. Oh and angst. So much angst.
Plot: A girl wakes up in an enchanted palace with no memory of who she is or how she came to be. She's less concerned about it than she should be.
She sometimes thinks that she should want to explore beyond the mountain peaks and sharp cliffs, but she doesn’t.
She’s tried before, curious about what lays beyond the thick clouds that shroud her home, but whenever she does she feels this tug of… something. A tightness in her chest that builds and builds and makes it hard to breathe. She never instructs Lya to turn around, convinced she can push through the squeezing sensation, or that she’ll get used to it, but her beloved steed and best friend always does so anyway. The second she struggles to get enough air, Lya races back to the palace, refusing to leave her side for the rest of the day. She’s not unaffected by these attempts either, feeling an eerie sense of dread that prickles against her skin for hours afterwards. She starts to feel, deep within her bones, that going too far from the palace would kill her.
She never wants to leave after that.
It doesn’t bother her. She gets a good amount of space in every direction, and the mountains are stunning in every season. The winters are harsh, but the snow is beautiful and undisturbed, creating a whole world of white. She makes herself thick armor and a visor when the blizzards start, keeping the cold out as Lya (who is happiest in a snowstorm, even though it makes flying tricky – she thinks the thestral must love the challenge) beats her heavy, bat-like wings, flying higher and farther than she dares in summer and doing tricks all the while. The unpleasant feeling is always much fainter in a blizzard, too. She thinks it has something to do with the fact that no other living thing would be outside during a storm, let alone able to spot her. Food is trickier to find in the frost, but not impossible for Lya, who leaves her at home on clear days as she spends hours scanning the snow for prey with her hawk-like vision. She brings home whatever she can – rabbits, boars, mountain goats, even the occasional eagle - and her castle helps her as she skins, prepares, and cooks it (fire, for whatever reason, is created by a hand motion that her arms remember but her mind does not). They ration the food strictly, with her learning that it never spoils if she encases it in crystal. If the storms last all day or Lya’s hunt is unsuccessful they eat the preserved portions until they can replenish their supply.
Her zone of safety, so to speak, becomes smaller as the snow thaws and the sunlight strengthens, but she isn’t inconvenienced. With the fading of the frost comes the arrival of migratory birds, foliage, bees, and eventually berries, along with all of the game they hunted in winter. She’s learned through trial and many, many errors how to best prepare the springtime meals, as well as how to hunt both with and without Lya. She also rips out chunks of the earth containing the most beautiful flowers she can find, making pots of different shades and sizes all over the palace to preserve her treasures. The sunshine makes her more content, and she spends many afternoons relaxing against the warm bark of a pine tree, gazing at her view of the mountain range and listening to birdsong.

brother's best friend + klaroline + harry potter au
In foresight, perhaps he shouldn’t have offered to room with Elijah.
He was driving him bloody mad, what with him going to bed at ten and waking up at seven (because for heaven’s sake, who even did that on holiday?) and all his organizational tendencies. Klaus liked his room just the way it was, thank you very much, and that included his socks under his bed and his wand on his window pane and not in his drawer.
Elijah had somehow managed to organize Klaus’s room, turning it into some kind of haven for neat-freaks (They were in the twenty-first century, what kind of eighteen-year-old boy cleaned up after himself?) and it was driving Klaus up the wall when he had opened his closet that afternoon and had found the meagre amount of everyday robes he owned pressed and folded.
He liked his robes stuffed into his drawer, alright, sue him. Muggle clothes were much more comfortable. And Elijah had even ironed those.
He wouldn’t be surprised if he one day found his boxer briefs ironed too.
Elijah maintained he was doing it to influence Klaus on his organizational skills, but Klaus knew it was payback for rearranging his room last summer as a dare from Kol.
Klaus had no idea why he had managed to let Rebekah and Henrik wheedle him into coming home for Christmas, and normally, he could bring himself to regret it, but he couldn’t.
There was only one reason for that, and in Klaus’s opinion, it was a very valid one.
Caroline bloody Forbes.
Rebekah’s best friend, who had come home for the holidays as well, whose family had lived a few streets away since before she or he had been born. She had been a constant presence in Rebekah’s life since she had been able to crawl, what with them being born only a few months within each other. She had come to Hogwarts a year after he had, bright and inquisitive, as all her teachers remarked. He hadn’t been particularly close with her when they had been children, and had even spent time with her against his wishes to entertain her when Rebekah hadn’t been home when they had been children, but hadn’t really taken notice of her other than thinking of her as his little sister’s best friend.
They hadn’t really had a friendly relationship until she was fifteen, which mostly included both of them sniping at each other whenever possible and Elijah rubbing his temples as he tried to calm them down.
But when she had turned sixteen.
Good. Fucking. Lord.
It was like his view of her had done a complete one-eighty. Klaus had found himself captivated by Caroline when he had seen her on the train, his mouth dropping open at the sight of her. She had spent the last two months with her parents in Barbados on holiday, so although she hadn’t completely changed, there certainly were a few…aspects…that had…well…improved.
Not that she hadn’t been pretty before, but after that bloody vacation…
Her skin had become slightly tanned, and her hair had gotten longer and wavier. The colour had also become more prominent, and there had been a few freckles under her eyes.
Her eyes had stayed the same, but, then again, they had always been beautiful.
And she herself had also slightly changed. She had become slightly more sure of herself, become more confident and out-spoken that she had been last year. Rebekah claimed it had been because of some bad summer-fling experience bloke called Jesse, and even though Klaus hated the boy for doing something potentially hurtful to Caroline, he had thought that the new change looked good on her.
He had become completely vocal about his feelings to her, and had shamelessly flirted with her, alone, and in front of people. Rebekah had gone completely ballistic when she had found out, but had gotten over it (after three months or four), and Kol had simply rolled his eyes. Elijah simply didn’t care, and he told him that plainly, but was also clear if he did go out with her, he wasn’t to string her along.
“She is still Rebekah’s friend, Niklaus, and if you do manage to woo her, you are not to sway her with false intentions,” he had told him sternly.
Well, that hadn’t been a problem, Klaus thought grumpily, since it had been a year and Caroline still hadn’t succumbed to his charms. In fact, she had somehow managed to hate him even more when she had found out.
And false intentions were the last thing on his mind.
Kol had laughed gleefully when he found out that Caroline had rejected Klaus the first time, and had fallen off his bed howling when Rebekah told him about the second time. The third time had ended with Kol in the hospital wing and Klaus in detention scraping gum off the desks in the potions classroom.
It hadn’t been a good day.
Caroline snapped at him every time he flirted with her, and he couldn’t for the life of him understand why since every other available female (and a male or two) his age wanted to shag him. It wasn’t because of sex, Klaus was sure of that, because she was no blushing virgin, if the tales he had heard from Tyler Lockwood were accurate.
Of course, that had ended with Lockwood in the hospital wing for a month after when a drunken Kol explained what he had done to Caroline a few months ago.
Caroline hadn’t said anything to him, hadn’t yelled at him or thanked him, but her antagonistic behaviour had gone slightly down, and Klaus had thought that she could be softening enough for him to try his luck with her another time.
Sadly, he had been proven wrong.
She growled at him when he flirted with her, snapped at him when he made innuendos about the two of them, had even attempted to hex him one time.
They had gotten detention for supposed duelling, but they had done detention together, and Klaus chose to look on the bright side of things.
He had stayed at Hogwarts a year after his graduation, interning under his Defence Against The Dark Arts professor for a more thorough understanding of dark spells and curse-breaking.
And it had been a year since then, and the subject of his every thought was right in the next room, sharing a wall, sleeping next to Rebekah. The walls were pretty thin, sometimes he could even hear her soft breathing as she slept.
This was one such night, and Klaus found himself walking down to the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea to help him to sleep. He did not want to think of her sleeping, as those thoughts lead to the clothes she wore when she slept, which then lead to uncomfortable situations.
But, of course, he found Elijah in the kitchen as well, taking out the sugar and a mug for himself as well.
“Couldn’t sleep?” he asked Klaus, eyeing him through the cabinet’s glass door.
“No, I just felt that three am was the appropriate time for tea,” Klaus drawled, making Elijah roll his eyes.
“I'll make you a cup,” he said, taking another one out, before muttering, “or two, you sound even snippier today.”
“I heard that,” Klaus scowled.
“Keep your voice down, Niklaus, Kol will be up and we both want him to sleep through the night, don’t we?”
If it was one thing Klaus and Elijah agreed on, it was keeping Kol asleep for as long as possible to keep him from causing trouble.
“Why are you up?” Klaus asked Elijah, his eyes drifting to the quill and parchment on the table. A sly grin spread across his face when he noticed the too familiar swirls of hot pink ink on a few pieces of parchment littering the floor. “Ah, I see. Trouble in paradise with Katerina, is it?”
“There’s no trouble in paradise with Katerina,” Elijah gritted out. “There is no trouble at all.”
“Or paradise?” Klaus grinned.
“No,” Elijah growled. “We’re just having trouble with the long distance thing, that’s all. It’s working out fine.”
Klaus ducked his head and smirked, knowing that Elijah would probably spend the whole vacation fretting about his relationship with Katerina, who was all the way in Bulgaria studying dragons. At twenty, Elijah and his school girlfriend had travelled in different directions for their careers, but were trying to make it work.
“Of course,” he said dryly, taking his cup from Elijah. “And what a lovely thing that is. We wouldn’t want to let go of Katerina, of all people in our lives, what with her being an absolute delight.”
Elijah gave him a look of loathing his charms professor would’ve been proud of. “I wouldn’t talk too much about my love life, Niklaus, taking a look at yours.”
“Don’t you mean his non-existent love life?” Kol asked, striding into the room, much to Elijah’s chagrin. “You morons. Do you even know how loud you two are being? You're lucky you haven’t woken Bex or Caroline up yet.”
“And you? Did we wake you up? Or did you simply follow me into the kitchen ad have been eavesdropping ever since?” Elijah sniffed.
Kol flashed a grin and held up an Extendable Ear. “Guilty. And why wouldn’t I, with such an interesting topic to talk about, along with even more tantalizing subjects? My, my are those girls of yours pretty, brothers.”
Elijah narrowed his eyes, and Klaus growled. “Kol, be quiet. Niklaus, restrain yourself.”
“Yes, Nik, do restrain yourself. Murdering me isn't going to help your case with Caroline, if it can be helped.”
“Kol, you're lucky you're still alive right now.”
“Kol is lucky to survive each passing day, Nik, considering how much he seems to get away with in front of Mum and Dad,” said Henrik, strolling into the kitchen, already up an Extendable Ear to answer Elijah’s upcoming question.
Klaus gritted his teeth. “Honestly, there’s no bloody privacy in this house. What is wrong with you all? Why can't you be more like Finn?”
“Dull?” Kol piped up.
“Finn is not dull, Kol—”
“Oh, shut up, Elijah, we all know Finn’s dull,” Henrik said irritably.
“Go back to bed, Henrik. Now.”
“I can't sleep,” said Henrik, ignoring Elijah’s order. “And since you lot were being so bloody loud, I decided to investigate. All for nothing, I suppose, if I'm going to receive treatment like this,” he said, glaring at Elijah, then moving towards the refrigerator. “Didn’t Mum buy ice-cream today?”
“I ate it,” Kol said proudly.
Henrik threw an apple at Kol, whose face was saved any damage by an inch by Elijah’s quick wandwork, with made the apple burst into tiny feathers. Kol snarled and moved towards Henrik, who slammed the refrigerator door shut.
“Quiet!” Elijah hissed, making both of them stop in their tracks. “Rebekah and Caroline are both sleeping, and it is three in the morning. Go back to bed. All of you. Now!”
“For someone who’s telling us telling us to be quiet, he’s certainly making a lot of noise. Rather hypocritical of you, Elijah,” Klaus said, who had been observing the exchange with an amused expression.
Elijah let out a growl. “Making tea was a mistake. Go up to bed. Right now.”
“Why, so you can sit here and write to your stupid girlfriend in peace?” Henrik grumped. “Find a new one, Elijah. Katherine scares me.”
“Katerina,” Elijah corrected.
“Potato, potahto,” Henrik said, waving a hand dismissively. “She’s frightening, Elijah, how are you not scared of her?”
“I’m sure his fear of her is eased by her…other…talents,” Kol said, smirking, making Klaus choke into his tea and Henrik snort.
“Enough!” Elijah snarled. “Kol, Niklaus, Henrik, I want you all upstairs in one minute otherwise Rebekah will wake up. And then, so will Caroline.”
“Oh, don’t worry, Elijah, I'm sure Nik wouldn’t mind,” Kol grinned, making Klaus cease his laughing at once, causing Henrik to laugh even more.
“You're one to talk,” Klaus growled. “Whatever did happen with Davina Claire, Kol? Mind sharing with the class?”
Kol’s expression soured. “Keep your bloody nose out of it, Nik.”
“Well, I certainly don’t mind sharing,” Klaus said, sitting up straighter. “Kol attempted to use his wiles to charm Davina Claire into his bed and instead was hit under each knee with his own broom.”
Henrik doubled over laughing, clutching his stomach, and Elijah hastily cast a silencing charm on the door. Kol growled.
“And just in case you don’t believe me, I charmed a muggle camera device to work and recorded the whole thing,” Klaus said smugly.
“Piss off, Nik.”
“It was glorious,” Klaus said happily.
“Is that why you tease Nik about him and Caroline?” Henrik asked.
Kol smirked. “Hen, there is no Nik and Caroline. He’s desperately, head over heels in love with her, and she hates him. It’s wonderful.”
Klaus growled. “If you're going to have so little faith, Kol, we won't name you godfather of our child.”
“I thought I was promised that honour,” Elijah said indignantly.
“And you're going to be, Elijah,” Klaus said to him, snarling at Kol.
“Oh, come on, we all know Elijah’s too stuffy to be named godfather of Nik’s future kid even if he doesn’t knock up Caroline. Who’s going to tell the kid tales about his parents’ love story?” Kol sniggered.
“It’ll be Caroline,” Klaus said, his tone making it clear that the matter was already decided.
“She hasn’t even gone out with you yet, can hardly stand to look at you on a good day—”
“I don’t even understand why, I've done absolutely nothing wrong—” Klaus protested.
“You hung Stefan Salvatore from the ceiling by his ankles the week before, Niklaus,” Elijah said dryly. “I happen to think she’s rather fond of her friend.”
“Bloody Salvatore,” Klaus grits out. “As much as I love Caroline, her taste in friends is questionable.”
“I think they’re shagging,” Rebekah said, waltzing into the room, sitting on one of the bar stools. “At least, that’s what I think she told me.”
“WHAT?” Klaus roared, making Henrik start and Rebekah jump slightly, causing her to growl at him.
“Well, I think they are, I never said they were. And, really, Elijah? Silencing charms? I was up before Kol came into the kitchen. Make me some tea. You're lucky Caroline is such a heavy sleeper.”
“Yes, yes, that’s all very well, Bekah, but coming back to the more important point, Caroline’s shagging Salvatore?” Klaus says, unable to keep the fury from his tone. She wouldn’t go out with him, and would instead choose to shag Stefan bloody Salvatore?
Had someone hexed her?
“Nik,” Rebekah said, her tone irritable. “Stefan is a sweet, smart, and caring person. He’s good for her, much unlike you.”
“Bekah, I will strangle you—”
“Niklaus,” Elijah said, his tone edged.
Klaus slammed his fist down onto the table, making Henrik start. “Rebekah, did Caroline, or did she not, tell you she was shagging Salvatore?”
“I don’t know exactly,” Rebekah said, adding a spoon of sugar to her cup. “But she had said he looked cute, and that he was very talented—”
“Talented in what?”
“You're a man, Nik, I'm sure you know,” Henrik sniggered, earning a death glare from Klaus.
“Why are you getting so worked up, Nik?” Rebekah asked irritably. “You're not her boyfriend, you can't get possessive.”
But he could get murdery.
He was allowed to do that. Probably.
“Find out,” Klaus told Rebekah, looking blankly at the wall. “Whether or not she’s dating Salvatore.”
“His name is Stefan, Nik, you could at least—”
“No.”
Rebekah sighed. “He’s a really nice, Nik, he’s really smart too. He’s really good in Herbology, and he was top of the class for harvesting Wormwood before anyone else could. Everyone was really impressed, and we—”
“We?” Elijah asked dryly, looking at Rebekah, who turned a slight shade of pink. “Or just you?”
Klaus looked at her quizzically; so did Henrik. Kol, however, had a smug smile on his face.
“Stefan Salvatore, Rebekah?” Elijah asked, a disapproving look on his face. Klaus looked between them, not sure what was going on.
“You know, Bekah, last I talked to Caroline, she said she became friends with Stefan in the first place because of you,” Kol smirked. “Either Caroline deceived me, which she rarely does, or you're not telling the truth.”
Rebekah bit her lip. Klaus groaned. “Am I missing something? What's going on?”
“Caroline and Stefan aren’t shagging, Nik, Rebekah and Stefan are,” Kol said gleefully.
“So I have reason to hate Salvatore either way?”
“Oh, this should be fun,” Henrik muttered.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Elijah asked indignantly, looking at Rebekah over the counter as she nervously pulled on her braid and batted Henrik’s away when he tried to as well.
“Because you lot never like my boyfriends!” Rebekah grumbled. “And you're always so mean to them. Especially Nik.”
“Just looking out for you, Bekah. They’ll know not to hurt you,” said Klaus, mentally counting the number of knives they had in the kitchen at the time.
“Oh, Bekah, you should’ve known better than to use Caroline’s name instead of your own,” Kol chided. “You nearly gave poor Nik a heart attack. You know how he detests Salvatore. And how he wants Caroline to have his babies.”
“Kol!” Rebekah screeched.
“What? He does. We all know it. He knows it. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he already has their names picked out like a fifteen-year-old girl.”
“Watch it, Kol,” Klaus snarled.
“Oh, you do, don’t you? What are they? I promise I won't tell Caroline, even if they're weird. They’re weird, aren’t they? Can I tell Caroline?”
He could hex Kol. He deserved it.
“Wand down, Niklaus,” Elijah said sternly, noticed Klaus’s slowly raising arm.
“Can we please stop talking about my brother and best friend’s hypothetical children?” Rebekah asked, covering her ears with her hands. “It’s putting disgusting images in my head.”
“The making process?” Kol grinned.
“KOL!” Klaus roared. “SHUT THE FUCK UP OR I’LL TEAR YOU APART IN FRONT OF CAROLINE!”
“I HATE YOU, KOL!”
“But imagine how cute they’d be!” Kol said happily, seemingly intent on making all of them suffer. “One all sunshiny and one all surly. It’s perfect!”
“Elijah, we’re going to be down a brother. You're going to have to explain Kol’s sudden disappearance to Mother and Father,” Klaus growled, rolling up his sleeves.
“Mum said no fighting in the house,” Henrik said, sounding like a five-year-old.
“Do I look like I care?”
“Calm yourself, Niklaus.”
“But Caroline isn't dating anyone, is she, Bekah?” Kol asked seriously, turning to Rebekah. Rebekah shook her head glumly. “Well, that ought to cheer Nik up. How are you feeling, Nik?”
“Still irritable,” Klaus snarled.
“Remember, Nik, if you kill me, Caroline will never forgive you. You’ll be Caroline-less. She’ll ever date you. Forget her having your beautiful imaginary babies.”
“Stop talking, Kol,” said Elijah, rubbing his temples.
“Nobody wants to be Caroline-less,” Kol said earnestly, shaking his head vigorously.
Klaus sighed. “I give up, Kol. I won't kill you. Today.”
“Lovely,” said Elijah, a smile that was all teeth appearing on his face. “Now, I'm going back to bed, and I didn’t want to use this tactic, but unless you all go to bed right this instant, I'll destroy the coffee maker with a hex, and Caroline won't be able to have her morning coffee.”
There was a scramble as everyone moved out of the chairs, and even when Klaus settled into bed, the tea not having helped at all, he couldn’t help but fid the sound of Caroline’s soft breathing oddly relaxing.
OOO
“Coffee,” said Caroline groggily, moving towards the coffee machine, her arms outstretched. “I need coffee.”
She reached out for her mug in the cabinet, only to find a fresh-made pot of coffee on the dining room table. She raised an eyebrow suspiciously; no-one in this house drank coffee. The perils of being British, she supposed.
“Caroline!” Kol crowed from behind her, and Caroline turned around with a weary sigh to see Kol jumping towards her, Klaus slowly following from behind, making her fold her arms. He gave her flirtatious smile and she shot him a glare, turning back to Kol.
“Kol. Where’s Rebekah?”
“Good morning to you too, Friend I’m Generous Enough To Host And Make Coffee For Even Though I Don’t Like It,” Kol said pointedly. “Let us forget about Rebekah for the moment and have breakfast, shall we? We have so much to catch up on.”
“It’s been nine hours since we last talked, Kol. And it’s eight a.m. So no.”
“Oh, come now, Caroline. Indulge Kol and his whims. They worsen by the day, I'll have you know, as he becomes more energetic,” Klaus said, taking a sip of his tea.
Caroline gave him a once-over, then looked at Kol. “What could you possibly want to catch up on? We talked about literally everything in the known universe yesterday. You made me sit with you for three hours and cut into my muggle yoga class.”
Klaus’s hand jerked making tea spill all over the table, making Kol snicker and Caroline close her eyes in frustration. “Yoga?” Klaus asked, his voice strained.
“Yes, yoga, Klaus. It’s not that uncommon. And stop staring at me like that, it’s not like you’ve just realized I have good legs,” she said without thinking.
Klaus smirked. “No, that realization occurred a long time ago, sweetheart.”
“God, shut up.”
OOO
“Caaaaaaroline,” Kol sang as he bounced towards her, making her look up from her parchment wearily.
“Kol, not now. I'm studying.”
“But I want to show you something important.”
“Kol, if this is about the orange flobberworm that you thought was pregnant yesterday, I swear to god—”
“No, it’s not that, and I was right anyway. It laid eggs in Elijah’s lettuce bed.”
“How do you know that it was Elijah’s lettuce bed?”
“He threw a raging fit for a pre-decided time today.”
“Okay. That’s it. I'm done. One day with your wacko family is enough. I'm going home. If you need me, send a patronus. I'm only a house away.”
“Wait, Caroline,” Kol said, flopping down on her bed. “We didn’t get a chance to talk this morning because of Nik and his incessant drooling over your shapely legs.”
“Creepy, Kol.”
“Your words, not mine.”
“I never said that—”
“Moving on, Rebekah, Henrik, and I have prepared something I'd like you to see.”
“If you built that terrarium for the flobberworm that you'd talked about, Kol—”
“It’s not about the flobberworm,” he whined. “It’s a lot more important, so you have to see it. You don’t have a choice, actually, I don’t know why I bothered asking you. Nevertheless, Bekah, Henrik, and I think it will be useful in your future life decisions.”
Caroline sat up. “Is it information about future employment opportunities in the Ministry—”
“God, Caroline, are you ever not boring? No, it is not about your silly job opportunities and whatnot. It’s actually something much better.” He motioned towards the door and Rebekah and Henrik strode in, followed by a reluctant Elijah.
“You're doing this?” Caroline asked Elijah incredulously. “Why?”
“Because Bekah has agreed to ask Stefan the Brooder to develop a flobberworm-resistant pesticide for Elijah. Tedious thing, that. But easy when you fancy yourself in love,” Kol said, smirking towards Rebekah, who sneered at him in response.
“Don’t tease her, Kol,” Caroline said sharply, even though she internally agreed with Kol. “And you’ve got ten minutes, so you better make this good and quick.”
“That’s what she said,” Kol sniggered, and yelped as Elijah whacked him over the head. “Alright, alright, I'm sorry. You'll have to come downstairs for this, Caroline, we need the TV for this.”
Technically, TVs weren't a magic thing and weren't allowed in most households, but Kol had fallen in love with the thing after seeing it at a muggle thing and they had somehow smuggled a ninety inch plasma TV into the Mikaelson house.
Narrowing her eyes, she followed Kol downstairs, where she flopped down onto the couch. Kol turned o the TV and went to the mirror option, connecting it to his laptop. Raising an eyebrow, she looked at him as Rebekah and Henrik stood in front of him, and Rebekah clasped her hands, looking at the screen.
Elijah looked deeply uncomfortable as Caroline looked at him, not meeting her eyes.
“Shall we get started?” Rebekah asked, and Caroline raised her eyebrows suspiciously as Henrik handed her a glass of wine and a plate filled to the brim with the dark chocolate cookies Freya had recently sent over.
“Wine and cookies? Is this bribery?” she drawled. “To make sure I don’t cause a scene if I don’t like whatever this is?”
“Of course not,” Rebekah said, looking offended, then shooting her a smile. “But do inform us if you feel the need for more wine.”
Caroline snorted, and Rebekah turned to Kol. “Switch it on, please, Kol.”
Kol pressed the remote, and the screen blinked as a slide came into the view, proudly displaying the words:
WHY CAROLINE SHOULD DATE NIK. PRESENTED BY: KOL, REBEKAH, AND HENRIK MIKAELSON ASSISTED BY ELIJAH MIKAELSON
Caroline promptly spat out her wine.
Elijah looked like he was about to melt into a puddle of guilt next to her, and Rebekah and Kol just rolled their eyes. “Honestly, Caroline, I'd appreciate it if we were able to get through this with minimal fuss.”
“Minimal fuss? MINIMAL FUSS? You prepared a fucking PowerPoint presentation on why I should date your brother and you're telling me not to be fussy? Are you fucking kidding me?”
“No, we aren’t,” Rebekah said irritably. “Now sit your scrawny arse back down and listen.”
“I'm sure Nik would disagree that her arse is scrawny, seeing that he looks at it almost every chance he gets—”
“Stop talking about her arse, you pervert—”
“I'm leaving,” Caroline said, getting up.
Rebekah turned to Elijah, her expression full of desperate determination. “Elijah, now!”
Looking like he was the worst possible person to ever be born on the planet, Elijah held up his wand, muttered something and Caroline fell back down onto the couch, twin shackles twisting around her wrists and pinning her to the seat.
“Ooh, this could have promising uses, ‘Lijah, you simply must teach me that spell,” Kol said gleefully, causing a revolted Elijah to turn back to Caroline with a pleading look on his face.
“You must understand, Caroline, that I was blackmailed, I wanted nothing to do with this—”
Rebekah snorted. “Nothing to do with this, my arse. Weren't you the one muttering about Nik and Caroline’s incredibly annoying unresolved sexual tension yesterday?”
Elijah turned to Rebekah with a betrayed look on his face. And Caroline had had enough by that point. “Where’s Klaus?” she demanded, looking around as if he’d vanish from thin air. “He’ll put a stop to this.”
“Nik is out with Finn's kids,” Rebekah said daintily. “They wanted ice-cream, and Nik wanted to drink, so the kids are probably at a friend’s house while Finn thinks they're with Nik, while Nik is probably drowning his thoughts away.”
“It’s eleven am on a Sunday.”
“And it’s Nik. Moving on to the first slide. Kol, if you'd please.”
Caroline had figured out she had no choice in the matter, and instead of wasting her energy on protesting, it was better to just sit, watch, and ignore the whole thing completely.
SLIDE ONE: NIK IS TALL
“Tall? Really?” Caroline snorted despite herself. “That’s your opening statement? I’m literally three inches shorter than him.”
“Caroline, shut up and listen.”
Studies have shown that women are more attracted to men taller than 5’9”, a height which Nik surpasses. Studies have also shown that men with tall heights also have large penises.
“KOL!” Caroline screeched. “Stop the presentation! Stop it now!”
“Look, Caroline, I hated writing that part as much as you did, and even though it made me want to tear out my own wind pipe, it is a relevant point. It took a lot of effort for me not to throw up while writing it, so you will listen.”
SLIDE TWO: NIK IS BRITISH
“You're all British.”
“Caroline, stop interrupting.”
Studies have shown that women, particularly American ones, are attracted to men with British accents. As stated by Miss April Young, friend of Caroline Forbes, she too, is a part of this propaganda.
Caroline blushed. Just because she thought Orlando Bloom was hot in Pirates of the Caribbean did not mean she was part of the stereotype, okay?
Okay, maybe she was. Just a little bit.
SLIDE THREE: NIK IS AN ARTIST
“This is like a Tinder profile, Caroline commented dryly.
“Technically, it is,” said Rebekah, picking at her nails.
“Klaus is going to kill you.”
“What he doesn’t know won't hurt him, Caroline, and I thought I told you to stop interrupting.”
Nik is a very talented artist, who has had artistic experience more than fifteen years.
“Kol, five of those years went by in finger painting.”
“Read the slides, Caroline.”
Studies have shown that women enjoy men who are artists, relishing the fact that these men like to draw them naked.
“Are you kidding me?” Caroline screeched. “This is your brother!”
“It’s less painful to write this than go through another minute of your irritating sexual tension, Caroline,” Rebekah complained. “But, yes, you're right, we just couldn’t write this, so we bribed Stefan to.”
SLIDE FOUR: NIK IS ATTRACTIVE
Caroline pressed her lips together silently. Okay, so maybe, this one was slightly true.
Nik is an attractive eighteen-year-old man, who has blonde hair and blue eyes. Studies have shown women are more attracted to men fitting this description. Nik also is intelligent, and has nice eyes. Due to Caroline being attractive as well, their children will be beautiful.
“KOL!”
“Don’t blame me, Rebekah added that.”
Below the lines was a photo of Klaus lounging against a wall, taken at Freya’s wedding.
Okay, if Caroline bit her lip after looking at it, it was only because he was wearing a suit, and suits looked hot on everyone. It was like girls and lingerie.
Caroline rolled her eyes. “You forgot to mention that he knows he's attractive and he's incredibly full of himself.”
“Let’s focus on the main points, shall we?” said Kol, clicking the remote.
SLIDE FIVE: NIK IS ALREADY IN LOVE WITH CAROLINE
Nik is already in love with Caroline, and has clearly shown his affection by flirting with her and desperately begging her to go out with him multiple times, once even offering to not hex Lorenzo St. John for a week, something that is a great hardship for Nik.
Caroline sniffed. “He’s an ass.”
“Enzo? I agree,” Rebekah said, sneering, pressing a button.
SLIDE SIX: GIVE NIK A CHANCE, HE’S WORTH IT. AND IF YOU DON’T, WE’LL BE BACK WITH PART TWO. THANK YOU
PRESENTED BY: KOL, REBEKAH, AND HENRIK MIKAELSON ASSISTED BY ELIJAH MIKAELSON
Caroline shot them all a look of fury, especially to Kol. “First of all, I hate you all. Not you, Elijah, I'm just disappointed.”
Elijah looked close to tears at the amount of regret on his face. Kol and Rebekah huffed. “So, are you going to give Nik a chance or not? If you're not, we already have Henrik working on the next part.”
Before Caroline could say anything, a clicking sound was heard from the door, and Klaus stepped back inside, his hair dusted with snow. Unlike his younger siblings, he was not oblivious, and his attention was turned to the screen, which, despite Rebekah, Kol, and Henrik’s desperate attempts to turn off the screen. His dark eyes caught on the screen, and he turned towards the five people sitting on the couch.
“What is this?” he asked, his voice dangerously soft.
“Now, Nik, don’t get testy—”
“Kol, shut up,” Henrik hissed. “You'll make things worse.”
“I don’t make things worse, you make things worse, you and Rebekah, you're both the same, always pinning the blame on me—”
“Kol, shut up—”
“Rebekah, I will rip out your tongue—”
Klaus slowly walked towards them, looking at Elijah. “Elijah? You were involved in this?”
“I had no choice, Niklaus, they threatened to die my ties pink with Lockhart’s non-reversible dye—”
But Klaus had stopped paying attention, he was now looking at the screen, which was still displaying the words from the last slide. “Well?” he prompted, passing Rebekah the remote. “As it’s about me, I have a right to see it. Turn it on.”
Muttering under her breath about controlling elder brothers, Rebekah pressed the button, and the screen flashed to the first slide.
Klaus grinned.
Caroline’s cheeks burned.
“Well, well, well,” he drawled, the ever-present smirk on his face. “Looks like our little situation got so desperate that my siblings had to intervene. Regretting not giving into my requests before, love?”
“Shut up, Klaus,” Caroline gritted out.
“Hm,” he said, then went over to the next slide. “Nik is tall,” he read out. “I am tall, thank you, Kol. Studies have shown—ah. I imagine Stefan is permanently traumatized, Bekah?”
Rebekah shot him a venomous look.
“Nik is British. What a tremendously surprising announcement. All women, particularly American ones, are attracted to men with British accents…and it looks like you're part of the club, love,” Klaus smirked, looking at Caroline.
“I hate you,” Caroline seethed.
“Apparently not,” Klaus mused. “Since I have a British accent and all.”
“Fuck you.”
“Oh, yes please,” he said, his tone low, and Caroline restrained a huff. His siblings all covered their ears, and Elijah chose that moment to apparate, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik running out of the room.
Klaus read the rest of the presentation in silence, his smug smile growing with every slide. When it was finally over, he switched off the TV and vanished Caroline’s shackles, causing her to fold her arms across her chest, glaring at him.
Klaus, for his part, said nothing, merely looked at the floor and smiled.
“It is not funny,” Caroline hissed.
“I know, I know,” he grinned.
“Then stop laughing!” she snarled, and he immediately looked back at her, pressing his lips together. They sat on the couch together in silence for a few minutes, before Klaus spoke again.
“Why won't you go out with me?”
She didn’t even have to think about her answer. “Because you want to sleep with me, and I'm not going to be another notch on your bedpost.”
Klaus looked at her, his expression quizzical. “Is that all you think you would be?”
“Yes.”
Klaus let out an incredulous laugh. “For someone so intelligent, you're really quite dense sometimes.”
“What?”
“I am in love with you,” he said quietly, and Caroline’s breath hitched. “I am in love with you, and it is as simple as that. And when one loves someone, he doesn’t merely aim to bed her. He aims for everything. And I want everything. I want you, Caroline. So go out with me. Take a chance.”
She stared at him wordlessly.
“Go out with me, and you won't regret it. I promise.”
She looked at him, and his lips curved into a smile. “I dare you.”
There it was.
She turned around, cast an imperturbable charm on the door, hearing Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik’s loud huffs of irritation, and looked back at Klaus, her eyes calculating. “Yes.”
He leaned back slightly, taken aback. “Yes?”
“Yes,” she repeated. “Yes, I will go out with you. I will date you. You get one chance,” she said, leaning forwards and placing just a hint of a kiss on his lips, “so make it count.”
“Oh, I intend to,” he vowed, pulling her towards him and kissing her, this one laden with promises.
She wouldn’t tell Kol and Rebekah, not just yet.
Looking at the second presentation would be amusing, anyway.
