Okay okay, so we've seen you absolutely are a firm believer in Animal sounds and behaviors Sebastian right?

Now it makes me curious.. do you think some of these habits he ever accidentally carried over into being back to his mostly human daily life? Whether is be some sounds, old behavior he just didn't scrap, or otherwise; any of them that might've stuck with him?

Oh they absolutely do ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿ very much so. Wayyy back I was supposed to draw up some scenarios about this specific thing in mind but uh. Oopsie *executive dysfunction blast*

Being a Creature for over a decade comes with its quirks, many of which are not easy to shake...not that he'd even care to try to, tbh. Old habits die hard and he's just tired, man, he couldn't be bothered to rein it in to appeal to the public anymore— this is as good as it's gonna get and if you have a problem you can take it up with the wall

That being said, let's talk about em!! The most obvious is his lil ear fin thingies; they still very much respond to emotion and he's actually become quite reliant on them for nonverbal communication. As a matter of fact, he didn't realize just HOW much he relied on it until after his big ole tail disappeared and he remembered rather quickly that humans have extremely limited variations of social cues (no this isn't an autism moment what pfft.....totally)

Smiling was also an adjustment he had to acclimate himself to. He couldn't recall when baring his teeth became a sign of aggression/fear to him, but the discomfort other (well-meaning) people brought him was realized very early on. On that note, he tends to get snarly when troubled or anxious, so. A good chunk of the time LOL. A small inconvenience happens and his lip is twitching

AS FOR NOISES his vocal chords were pretty much returned back to normal, so physically he isn't capable of a lot of the ones he used to be able to do, but that doesn't mean he won't give it his best shot. Unconsciously. He never tries to purposefully recreate any of the sounds because he just assumed they would make themselves known whether he liked it or not LMAO (it would be because. Embarrassing. But he bid farewell to his dignity a LONG time ago and now he's just resigned). Like if he stubbed his toe or some shit he would hiss from deep in his chest, and that's about the extent of his current range 😭 now me personally I like to think that he can purr still but it is a Deep Dark Secret the likes of which are career-ending

And now misc thangs 🕺

he was weird about food for quite a while, and it took a lot of work with Pai to get over it. This kinda looked like: refusing to eat anywhere other than his room, refusing to go out for dinner, staring long and hard at the raw meats section in the supermarket and consequently making the butcher uncomfortable. You get the idea

He'll instinctively reach for his non-existent lure when he enters a dark room, effectively grabbing at nothing

Avoided bodies of water at all costs for a hot minute. Took to washing his hair in the sink while he begrudgingly worked through some things with his lovely spouse whom he is so grateful for

His bed? Nest. Painter? Making it every morning without fail

He doesn't have to worry about shedding anymore but the Trauma of the experience was so great, he is thoroughly lotioned

i would say that after ken's experiences with emi and bonding with his dad, he becomes more open to various possibilities. yes he's happy he's slowly recovering what he'd lost long ago, but there's definitely something in particular that's missing in his life.

he hasn't thought about love in a long, long time. back in america it was always crushes, or simple dates but nothing ever lasted longer than he wanted it to. ken sato hates cliffhangers.

you, on the other hand, weren't hoping for much. all your life you've worked - very obviously - as a tool for the KDF, but what good did it bring you except to push yourself away from people?? so you did, not wanting to be around people quite often, so much as to even isolating yourself.

after learning of your boss' potential demise, what good is there staying in an organization that left you completely shallow? gone was the need to remain in KDF, signing the very last paper regarding your resignation.

"i should get an eye patch," you muttered, staring into the mirror with a dull look. it was no news for the frontliners to experience heavy injuries, but you definitely did not expect one of your eyes to become completely dysfunctional.

it had only been a few days since your departure from the shackles when you just had to bump into the well-known, ecstatic baseball player, ken sato in a convenience store. purely out of coincidence, of course. squinting your eyes, you sent a nod his way.

a shiver ran down his spine when he read those words. he didn't need to see it, but he could tell there was more to than what meets the eye.

"something the matter, ken?" mina questioned, her holographic screen dissipating.

"oh- how difficult do you think this is gonna be?"

and approached you he did. not exactly, but again. it was purely out of coincidence when he saw you sitting by the window of a quaint cafe, sipping on your favorite beverage.

"baseball boy?" you called out behind him while he was "trying his best to order his favorite drink." his words, not yours.

"fancy seeing you 'round here."

"yeah! well. you know me - super down to earth," he chuckled nervously, clearing his throat after.

but you can see just how bad he was suppressing himself from throwing the biggest questions he had for you. out of respect, you had hoped. nodding, you walked back to your seat after grabbing your long-awaited dessert.

that was - until - the same baseball boy practically begged to sit at the same table as you. there it was. one would expect the fan to do most of the questioning towards their idol, but in this case it was different.

you were no fan, and ken surely wasn't one himself. the KDF doesn't really have a good image going on, after all. it was the slight glimmer of hope in your heart that this man had a pure heart, just wanting to explore what he hasn't in this big, cruel world.

heaving a huge sigh, you gave in. this can go on. what's the worst that could happen?

and it did. for hours. hours turning into days. days turning into weeks. months. suddenly a year had passed, and you were now in his arms, being the little spoon you had desired for so long.

he hears story after story of yours. all the secret missions you'd gone through before resigning. the eye that you'd lost a long time ago.

ken sato was careful with your heart, soul and you. he cares for you like the world's most fragile glass, holds you in his arms like he might lose you the moment he lets go. he kisses every single scar of yours like he was silently acknowledging the sacrifices you'd made through the years.

and for the first time, you felt like there was some meaning. you needed to see this through. you wanted ken sato more than ever now. the way he smiles, the way his eyes glimmer when you tell him something new. the way he cups your face and reminds you of your worth.

it's mind boggling to know someone slightly younger than you has such a vast and mature mind, ready to accept you when no one else has. life had always been stagnant. you wake up, you face the days ahead. some conversations with or without you. unwanted noises that bothered you to the core.

it was just something about ken, his voice perhaps. or it could be the way he wants to listen. he chooses to listen even when he doesn't understand, because this man would do anything in the world to be in yours.

"i don't know what the others have told you, y/n. but in my eyes, i can keep them on you forever and i'd never grow tired."

and those were the words that left you speechless, the fresh warm streak of tears flowing down your cheeks. it was such a rare sight to see someone so stoic, so persistent break down. but even then, ken sato was there to hold you tight, whisper soothing words into your ear and pepper you with endless kisses.

you'd grown absolutely smitten for this man, and i would say you'd never regret a single moment with him.

Glad you noticed the monitor! Actually, Hal, Ford and Bill all have one! Bill, well, for obvious reasons lol, Ford because he was deemed dangerous because of his intellect and his collaboration with Bill, and Hal because of a mix of both.

Being Bill's kid as you said, he definitely has some frightening powers and the staff are worried he might not have full control over them because of his relatively new existence (it's a bit more complex than that but I don't want to ramble too much lol) He definitely inherited Ford's resourcefulness as well, on top of being a clever kid, so it's the worst combination possible, which gives the staff all the more reason to worry. I'd say he's dangerous because he has the potential to do a lot of harm, just like his dads, but not because he's an active threat, if that makes sense.

The only silver lining to this whole fiasco is that Hal is a very well-behaved child, so much so that people often wonder how he turned out so well after spawning from two of the most dysfunctional guys to exist lmao. So it's mostly them being cautious but they're mostly afraid of Hal accidentally using his powers rather than intentionally causing harm out of malice.

If anything, he's the staff's favorite for being so cute and easy to handle and most people at Theraprism try their best to accomodate him, given that he hasn't done anything wrong and just had the bad luck of being born the child of Bill and Ford (he does love his dads though, although it's more complicated on their side since he was unexpected) Axolotl is especially fond of Hal, which is super funny because both Bill and Ford constantly make him cry on a aily basis for being so difficult and mean/rude to him haha

Eden lied.

Eden tries to fight against the voices in her head. In my headcanon, she understands what she wants to do or feel in a situation but is unable to control her actions and emotions. Eden wants to love Prudence in the dysfunctional way she’s seen within her family—like how Prudence loves Orla, how Percy loves their mother despite not being loved back, or how Sally continues to love her despite his constant disappointment. Yet, she finds herself unable to feel that level of emotional connection she wants, and it frustrates her. Like she is in the paradox of caring too much about the fact that she cares too little.

Aiden, on the other hand, accepts the voice, which is why he wasn’t particularly angry at Viktor and Prudence's actions during his childhood. Back then he believed everyone had that same voice urging them toward violence, so to him, it was just normalllll. (He eventually learned that other people’s minds do not work like that, but by that time he was used to the way everyone treated him so it was fineeeee.) This boy is unapologetic yet fully aware that there’s something broken in his head—something no one knows how to fix so he doesn’t blame others for their hatred toward him. His parents’ resentment? Justified. Their decision to send him to a mental asylum? Makes perfect sense.

I’m still not sure what my Crownies think about Victor yet 😭 But Aiden stabbed him.

What you mentioned about escapism is not creepy at all to me, in fact it’s utterly relatable. I’ve done that all my life with literature and Fanfiction and I’m so touched that my little worlds provide that for you and we can scream about them together here.

As for Maureen-

There will obviously be more fics coming but since I haven’t got a good fragment to share without divulging larger plot points right now, let me babble to you about recent character progression obsession of the week for mess

Namely: Maureen and Bubbles.

Because I love Bubbles and we didn’t have him long enough and he was so excellent and a little ornery and very self effacing but so stubborn and capable and I just 🤧🥹😤😢 about him. But I also like to think about my gremlin bombardiers all together in training and then also their navs? Because yes, Maureen was a bit hoity toity about being a pleasure pilot before the war and was mighty salty about being demoted and yet, she wanted to hang in there and continue with this new purpose in life and prove to herself she could actually succeed and contribute meaningfully.

Then, her demotion to Bombardier actually her lands amongst a set of individuals that suit and match her even better, and it’s just a grand thing in many dysfunctional. But furthermore, the navigators and the bombardiers had such a close working connection and they’re both in the damn nose bracing during practice runs in hopes that their baby pilot actually lands this thang right. And also for mathematics and homework and targets, etc, so much to work on together. I theorize that she worked alongside many navs, some we know and others we never meet.

But then there’s Bubbles Payne. And he has a very big influence on her. I imagine that while she enjoys army life in those early days she’s got tons of her old habits hanging on. Some are more obvious and brazen as we’ve seen. Others are literal insecurities and coping mechanisms from her home life that come out as flirtations or provocations but they’re not, not deep down. And I think this straight shooting man would see through that and be one of the first to call her out on it in a very constructive way. Like, there’s no place for them here anymore. Which is challenging but freeing?

Maybe she comes to him needing some supplies and she’s turning on the charm and the sultry voice and Jo Payne is just: squints in honest wholesome confusion, because it ain’t like he doesn’t recognize a woman trying to get her way. It’s just, he’s used to it at a bar with a hooker who wants a wage and not an enlisted officer in his workplace, ya know?

But Maureen hasn’t ever been on a level playing field with men before. She’s never been just one of the boys, or a member of society really. She is what she can demand or wheedle or seduce out of others. So when she tries that with Bubbles and he’s just *digs in his bag for the calculator to aid in her ordinance* he also lets fly with a real kind and measured but firm sorta “I dunno where it is you come from, Lieutenant, and what sorta eye battin’ contents they held their, but here you’ve got a job. And when ya need a tool for that job, you’re guaranteed the use of it. Same as all of us. Ain’t no favor required, just -do your job. That’s what we’re here for.”

She may end up getting a tattoo of a string of little bubbles. And when she gets into the stalag at long last she asks after him, assuming that his plane got shot down.

Until she learns it did not, in fact, get shot down at all.

KIA. Confirmed. For all of them. But Bubbles’ lesson lives on, it wasn’t a matter of favors anymore in her new life, but merit. And wasn’t that a heartache and a thrill all at once?!

Chapter 13 is still in development, as I did a re-write of it, and it's long now, so ouch, but don't worry, it's more complete than incomplete. I was just lacking the motivation this month cause executive dysfunction and other factors like getting a new job, so my brain is just all over. Hopefully, I'll get on it, and you all don't have to wait too long since i did want the later chapters to take place in these holiday months because relevant timing, but as I said, it depends on a lot of factors which i unfortunately can't control. Ahh, sorry for the wait.

But also, yeah, I'm so glad people enjoy their dynamic! I'm so conflicted about if people either find it too OOC or boring. I'm just writing tobecky in my own view on how they would be as adults and if they haven't seen each other in years. But I'm glad that people do like them. I love writing tobecky like how they are in Canon, but if most couldn't tell, my bread and butter is writing them in different scenarios or "what if" situations where there is a change in their dynamic. Also, I hope i didn't mislead people into thinking it was slow burn enemies to lovers. If anything, this is just rivals to strangers to friends to lovers, but they're both oblivious.

I just love my brother so much 😭 Allahuma barik lahu He doesn't have much to offer but his devotion to our family and how he is always in service for any one of us and how he just would go out of his way to make sure we are comfortable and safe is so selfless and I pray Allah swt count all of these acts in his good deeds and make them a way to elevate his rank in Jannah ameen ya rabb. Tbh, he wasn't really like that before, sübhanallah he was the template of any north african spoiled selfish only male child whose mom spoiled rotten and raised him to believe he is entitled to everything. But noticing this huge transformation in his personality, his humbleness, his genuine care and worry for our family, and especially for me is making me fall deeper and deeper in gratitude for Allah swt who changed my brother's heart and created ways for him to gain extraordinary deeds, because as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ says "the best of you is the best to his family" - and even if this Hadith is often explained in talking about one's wife, I'd like to think of it in general terms of family in the case of my brother 😭 Allahuma barik lahu wa barik bihi wa barik fih, Allahuma grant him khayr in this duniya and the hereafter, mend his heart and solve his problems, in deed you are the Almighty, you are able to do all things. Ameen.

Tonight, I was at my friend's house which is on the other side of town, and I got sick, and it was pretty bad and I called him and said " I got sick come pick me up" and even though it was late, and he was super tired and about to sleep he drove across town to come get me, he drove me to night-shift pharmacy and then got me food, even though his eyes were closing at the end. And then he mistakenly used my pet-name to refer to his daughter in the middle of the conversation and my heart just exploded with love for him 🥹

I am literally nothing without my brother, reflecting back on the years and how we weren't that close in my teenage and early adult years and how we finally found our way back to each other after my marriage is so heartwarming. Sübhanallah, even in the most dysfunctional of the families, Allah swt will bless you with that one person that will be there for you, care for you, protect you and show you that you are loved. In deed, Allah is the most merciful. I don't know why I am writing this, I just found myself pouring my heart out. Maybe to send out a little hope for girls who are currently not having the best relationship with their older brothers, do not despair, Allah's mercy is endless, He swt can turn things around in a heartbeat. And maybe to encourage guys to be a little kinder to their families and especially their sisters. It makes a huge difference for your sister to know that you've got her back and that you're there for her. But probably I am fever-blogging lol.

My thoughts: I absolutely found this fic by chance, and boy am I glad I did! The writing for this fic is absolutely amazing, the way I feel every single emotion the author wrote was crazy! Eddie is this story is such a little grump and the contrast of the shy teacher was so adorable, my favorite moments were when she was being defiant towards him and he didn’t know how to act because no one had ever stood up against him in his kitchen 🥹 totally recommend, this is a slow burn and I thrive in slow burns, can’t wait to read more from this author!

My thoughts: I am in absolute love with this series and can’t wait for updates ! I am so obsessed with the Breaksfast Club narrative, the enemies to lovers, the popular girl x school freak. It’s so enticing and I am a sucker for it! But what the author does that I am loving is that they set themselves apart from the original movie, js the interaction of the reader with other characters, I won’t spoil it, but it’s a little heartbreaking 💔 from the little that I have read from the 3 chapters so far, it is great!

Not Very Noble

My thoughts: I have a huge fascination with Medieval things, and think there isn’t nearly enough Eddie Munson Medieval themed AU’s and I think that’s a problem! This in particular is so well written, so beautifully put, it made me weep, and cry like a big baby from reading this, and it’s not even complete yet!!!!!! Y’all KNOW how much I buss down for an Enemies to Lovers trope 😩 I really hope they update this soon because I am patiently waiting 🥹

Not Wholly Evil

My thoughts: I LOVE me some pirate au, I think it is so incredibly fitting for Eddie to be set in this role. It is still on-going so it only has 2 chapters, but that was enough to make me sign up for the tag list!! It’s is beautifully written, the descriptions are so good it makes me feel like I am IN the Hellfire ship. Super excited to see where this is take me, and I hope they update it soon because it’s my new obsession!

My thoughts: holy shit my dudes, I think I found my new hyper fixation, to add to the list of stories I will check daily for updates! This is only the first episode and it already has me in a death grip 🫥 I am in love with 1940’s due to Bucky Barnes, and mixing Eddie in with that aesthetic threw me for a loop!! This is not the fic for you if you want cannon content, it is clearly set in another world, a different decade, and seems to me like it’s Eddie’s personality adapted for a 1940’s farm boy view, and I think I’m in love. Plus my fantasy of being a southern Belle (that’s my name if you didn’t know) is in an all time high with this. I can already picture all of the angst and all the crying in my bed at 2am this story will bring me, and I’m so excited 🤩

My thoughts: Honest to god, this is one o the best writing I have ever read on this app. The way Jade uses her words to describe the scenes, ughhhhhhh I can't explain, but Jade writes like a scene of a movie. It does not feel like the supporting characters don't feel like they seize to exist as soon as the main characters move on to a different scene. I love how the supporting characters are all incredibly detailed, feel like real people, and have real people reactions to things; weird, I know, haha. I love how much I adore this story so much. it does not feel like a simple fic, like I would invest in a start-up for this to be published into an actual book. It is so good, so sweet. I absolutely adore this story. It makes my heart do three summersaults per second every time Jade posts a new chapter, the characters have my fucking heart 🥺

Meet The Munsons

Summary: you were barely acquaintances in high school, but his reputation as a delinquent and freak didn't exactly endear you to him. now he's moving in. at the risk of being too literal: oh, brother.

What to expect: kind of incest, but not really? male masturbation, swearing, mentions/implications of a deceased parent, reader is a tad judgmental but that's what character development is for!

My thoughts: I have read and re-read this story about three times. If I'm not mistaken, this is the only complete one on this list. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! it made me so giddy. a grown woman giggling and kicking my feet like a little girl. I love the evolution of the characters and the way, slowly but surely, their feelings start to slip out, and by the end, you are totally like, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JUST HOLD HANDS, I BEG OF YOU. Not gonna lie, the "kind of incest" threw me off at first, but then you find out that they aren't actually related in no way possible; the reader's mom marries Uncle Wayne, and they are not raised together, so their not that weird situation of raised like siblings, which would make it really weird when they make out pretty heavily. Can't believe I'm defending incest.

The "Yes" Policy

What to expect: slow burn, eventual smut, strangers to lovers, flirting, mutual pining, angst, drug/alcohol mention/use, depictions of poverty, sort of grumpy x sunshine, but Eddie's just tired, reader and Eddie are mid-late 20's

My thoughts: This fic singlehandedly made me fall in love with the sunshine x grumpy trope, the thought of Eddie being a girl dad makes my heart double in size. Him being a single dad, Wayne being grandpapi is too cute! them doing their best to provide the best for their little princess, and the relationship between Miss Mouse and Adrie has my heart.

To Have and To Scold

My thoughts: I don’t usually like reading real person fics, like when the character is actually a real life person, I much prefer a fictional character because otherwise sometimes I get weirded out. That being said, I decided to give this fic a try, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the story. I picked it up and couldn’t put the phone down till I finished! The characters are engaging, and story is so sweet 🫶🏼

My thoughts: I honestly fell in love with this story, it is so mysterious, and so touching, funny, endearing, and most of all, a big tease. I fell in love with these characters, and their personalities, how they are together, and how the interact with one another. The idea of an older protective Eddie, that is conflicted with the thoughts of seeing Tooty as a little girl, but now she is a grown woman is mesmerizing to read, and Richie does an amazing job at writing it all so well.

Disjointed

What to expect: Fake marriage. Friends to lovers. Medical trauma. Lemon/Smut. Angst. Slow burn. No Vecna!!

My thoughts: This a new type of fic for me, I had never read anything in the nursing realm, an amazing first! I appreciate the reality of it all, from what I understand the author has personally experienced some of these scenarios, and im guessing has been/is a nurse practitioner, so makes for an extremely believable, and amusing plot!!

Eddie is such a sweetheart in this, and mean in some chapters, but it's all for the feels!!

My Thoughts: I love Enemies to Lovers trope! That much isn't any news to you guys! This fic is so lovely written, I love how real the characters feel, and how immersed I was in reading this, I am so related to the character because I too am a crybaby. Eddie is such a sweetheart in this, I just want Bambi to hug and kiss him 🥹, and mean in some chapters, but it isn't in a toxic sort of way.

This fic is so nicely written, It has long chapters which I fiend for, I absolutely adore it when a fic has 20K words in one chapter, it only has 4 of them because it takes place as a chapter for each season, which is generous btw, wish I'd thought of this!

They are really, for better or worse 🥹 they just compliment each other in ways that are dysfunctional, I think possibly legally a grey-area in a few states?, but it's also very real.

Because yeah, that's exactly what they are. They are inevitable. But that doesn't mean this way is any less hard. In fact it sucks having to go through the motions of figuring out just how much they mean to each other while having to keep up appearances that are so much more difficult than in the original fic. Because here, Lexa made a commitment. She is married and made vows, and it feels kind of fucking awful for Clarke, because she's still not actually the one being chosen, right? It takes Lexa damn near smothering them both in teeth laced kisses when she buries her face in Clarke's neck and whispers that, no, this has never just been fucking.

Not for her.

In fact she hasn't slept with anyone at all since the second time they got together for lunch, and that was weeks before they started this thing between them.

It just doesn't... It hasn't felt right touching somebody else.

Not even her actual wife.

Clarke is the first women she's been with that she knows she has to hide from Cos. Everyone else it was a point of discretion, but with Clarke?... It's something entirely else. She's the first one who makes Lexa actually feel nervous, like she's doing something dangerous, but fuck she does not want to stop. Not for one second does it even cross her mind to put an end to it, even tho she knows how much trouble she's in pretty much from the start. Because when something good happens, something bad, something funny or sad or celebratory... the only person she wants to see, to talk to, to hear what they have to say about it, is Clarke.

So yeah. Inevitable is the word for them. Because onevitably this is what they do in every timeline. They fall into each other and dance around it until it hurts. They let all the feelings and the love and the sex and attraction consume them until it's too big for either of them to even want to control. And then when the house of cards comes toppling down around them, they just stand in the middle of their path of destruction, leaning on each other as they watch the world burn
