I don't think some wot book fans understand that I just wouldn't be interested in the show if it did a lot of the things they want. No value judgement (everyone likes different things), but some book fans want to change how show fans perceive the show. They want us to perceive it exactly as they do, and that's just not how it would work for me. I either just wouldn't be watching the show or I'd be wishing it explored the aes sedai and their warders more because that's the kind of thing I'm interested in. You can't make everyone think the same way you do.

I have shifted 5x before, back in late 2022, though I took a break from shifting for my mental health and have not shifted since then. I have been on my journey towards shifting again since I ended my shifting break in May of 2023 :)

I've decided not to write any more long posts about why some people don't like Disney's Belle. I've probably been dwelling too much in other people's negative thoughts that I disagree with. But here are the rest of the critiques of Belle's character that I've read, and my short, succinct thoughts on each one.

I still think it's very interesting that some critics think Belle is too sweet and gentle, too feminine, and not "strong" or "modern" enough, while others think she's too defiant, too "modern," and not sweet or gentle enough.

Her desires at the beginning are ill-defined: she wants "adventure" and "more," but has no specific goal. This is true, but personally, I don't mind it. Plenty of us don't know exactly what we want from life, but do know that we want more excitement and wonderment.

She does nothing but read and complain in the village; she makes no effort to achieve her dreams of adventure, and she never does any realistic peasant chores, which makes her come across even more as a spoiled rich girl. I think it's implicit that Belle and Maurice are too poor to leave the village – that's why Maurice sets out to gain fame and fortune with his invention. And I think Belle's never doing housework onscreen was part of Linda Woolverton's feminist agenda. Maybe it's not realistic, and maybe it's overly "second wave feminist," but I do think it was fair of Woolverton to want to break away from the Walt-era Princess model and not show Belle cooking or cleaning.

Her dreams of adventure are side-swept in favor of a mere love story. I think there are two ways of addressing this issue. One is to argue that her dreams of adventure do come true, just in a way she never expected. The other, supported more by the song "A Change in Me" from the musical, is that she does lose her dreams, but for the better, as she realizes her life doesn't need to be like a romantic storybook to be happy.

Her romance with the Beast isn't nearly as fleshed-out or as realistic as fans claim it is. This is subjective. Some people think it's one of the best-written romance arcs in cinema.

She affects meek politeness and plays games with Gaston instead of plainly refusing his advances. First of all, if Belle didn't care about politeness, she would be a hypocrite to criticize Gaston and the Beast for their rudeness. Secondly, Gaston is intimidating. Third, this is only the beginning of her journey – with the Beast, she arguably learns to stand up to someone who mistreats her, which lets her decisively reject Gaston and call him a monster later on.

She seems to blindly love all books without questioning their content, which could be dangerous, especially when the French Revolution arrives. Belle has no trouble thinking for herself. If she can open her heart and mind to the Beast, and loathe Gaston while the rest of the town adores him, then I'm sure she can tell good books apart from bad and dangerous books. And the fashions in the movie are such a mish-mosh that I'm not sure if it takes place before the French Revolution or after... or if the French Revolution will even happen in this fairy tale world.

She sacrifices her own needs for men. Yes she does, but it's not framed in a gendered way, and both the Beast and Maurice do the same for her.

She emasculates the Beast. Well, I'll admit that the Beast's arc isn't very empowering for him – that's the whole point, that he learns to give up some of his personal power and love unselfishly. But is that necessarily a bad thing? I'll also admit that sometimes, I feel troubled that the Beast lets the mob attack the castle and does nothing to protect his servants. Still, we probably shouldn't judge a character whose mental health is clearly suffering at this point: immobilizing, suicidal despair doesn't only exist in fiction, so we should think twice before we call it "weakness" or "emasculation."

She needs male characters to rescue her – the Beast from the wolves, Chip from the cellar. I respect the complaint that the Disney Renaissance movies still rely too much on the "boy rescues girl" trope, but there's no shame in needing to be rescued. Especially because in the forest scene, Belle is just one human facing a whole pack of wolves, and in the cellar scene, her father is rescued too.

She never uses her skills, knowledge, or passions to solve problems – the only purpose they serve is to unite her with the Beast. I think this is just a genre problem. The whole story is geared toward uniting Belle and the Beast in love, and every story beat serves that end.

She almost leaves the Beast to die in the snow and stays angry about the West Wing incident even after he saves her life. The former is only a split second, while the latter is only in self-defense when the Beast unfairly blames her for his injury. Besides, consider the context of how the Beast has behaved until this point!

She's a hypocrite for giving the Beast a second chance yet dismissing Gaston as a monster. She doesn't give the Beast a chance until he risks his life to save hers. If Gaston had done anything like that, she would have given him a second chance too, but he doesn't. Gaston is also far more cold-blooded and narcissistic than the Beast ever is.

She's to blame for the Beat's near-death at the climax because she reveals his existence to Gaston and the other villagers. Of course she is. It's explicitly framed as a terrible mistake and she openly blames herself. But it's an impulsive act of desperation to save her father, and she tries to explain that the Beast is kind and gentle. Until it's too late, it clearly doesn't cross her mind that the villagers could form a mob to kill him!

She plays a nurturing, motherly role to both the Beast and her father. I agree that heroines shouldn't need to be nurturing. But it's not inherently anti-feminist to be that way!

She's sidelined in the final battle. Yes, this is true, but her presence is still essential to the scene, and not every heroine needs to be an action girl.

Her portrayal falls short of the original Beauty's greatest virtues: her kindness, selflessness, and compassion. Belle still has those qualities, they're just combined with more "modern" ones (adventurousness, defiance toward unjust authority figures, etc.). Besides, Disney had already made several excellent movies about heroines defined by kindness and gentleness. What's wrong with giving Belle a slightly different set of virtues?

She's too traditionally feminine and ladylike. I think most of us can agree that "femininity" ≠ "anti-feminist," and anyone who thinks that way is a little misguided.

Her creators glorify her at the expense of the other Disney Princesses. I agree that it was unfair and mean-spirited of Linda Woolverton to imply that the three Walt-era Princesses are "insipid," but I do respect her insistence on making Belle a different, more "modern" heroine. And I agree that Paige O'Hara was mistaken when she described Belle as "the first Princess not looking for a man" (neither Cinderella nor Ariel dream of romance until they actually meet their princes), but I don't hold that against Belle.

She's too blatantly written as a role model – she doesn't feel like a real person, but like a living instruction manual for how a "smart," "empowered" woman should behave. This is valid. But I personally do think she seems like a real person as well as a role model, and I think she's engaging enough that I don't mind the obvious "role model" qualities.

I'm not on bird app, and TikTok is geoblocked here, so I don't usually get too deep into fandom drama, nor am I interested in it. Unfortunately, it seems like the drama is spilling over here, and it has me questioning my reading comprehension for the past few days honestly. So here goes nothing, if you don't want to read about fandom discourse (which I recommend, for your own mental health), feel free to ignore this post. I just feel like I'm going insane so I need to get it off my chest.

From what I've read here, someone on bird app demanded Lou to explain some racist/misogynist memes he posted on insta over a decade ago, which were still on his page until very recently. Lou replied with this screenshot:

I've heard rumors of a certain subsection of the fandom impersonating bucktommy fans in order to stir up controversies. Again, I'm not on those sites, I can't confirm that, but I do admit the timeline is a bit suspicious. I get why some of you immediately rush to defend Lou and theorize that he was hacked, but I feel like it's such a cop out. Too many problematic figures get off scot-free just by claiming they were hacked. I'll hold out my judgement on that until more verified information comes out.

So for consistency's sake, I'm going to play devil's advocate, let's assume it really was Lou who tweeted that. I still don't see how it makes him an ableist?

First, it wasn't him who made this comment, the owner of that instagram account did. It wasn't even someone else's tweet or meme that he reposted, or did he signify his agreement to this statement. It was literally someone else's insta bio, a line that somebody else used to represent themself.

Second, look at the insta account itself. It's a K-pop stan account with 0 post and only 1 follower. It follows 19 celebrity pages, so it's safe to say someone made this account especially to snoop on celebrity news. How did Lou even find out the existence of such an account? That user must've initiated some kind of contact with Lou first, either through DMs or comments. Lou's an actor on a hit TV show, I'm sure he gets random comments from strangers every day. For a random stan account to stand out, they must've made an impression, probably not a good one either.

Third, it was posted as a direct response to someone demanding explanation for Lou's past problematic insta content. Why would he make an unrelated ableist joke about bullying blind kids in response to that? It's clearly a sort of gotcha attempt at pointing out the hypocrisy of the people pestering him online lately. They accuse Lou of being a bigot and try to get him fired, but at the same time they make jokes like this, so they're not in a place to judge him. Which is..... a shit retort. Lou's social media history WAS problematic, people have to right to question him on that. Him hitting back is whataboutism, but it doesn't make it less true, those people ARE bullies.

As I've said before, you don't have to be okay with Lou's past. I personally don't care, as I don't know him as a person, I also don't know who he was 10 years ago and what kind of environment he was in. As long as he's not actively using his platform to promote harmful views or using his fame to exploit people, I'm as okay with him as his co-workers are.

You do you, you can dislike him, outright hate him even, but you have to ignore all context and twist words around in order to paint him as an ableist asshole with this and this only.

I'm scared as fuck that Tom gonna quit acting just like Joffrey actor because he gets so much hate and they even call him a rapist

First of all, I'm afraid of it myself, and I'm also worried about his mental state. Secondly, let's calm down and think. Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) was much younger. When S1 of GoT was released, he was only 18. For comparison, Tom was 27 when S1 of HOTD came out, he already had a lot of media experience, because he worked on some big projects. Plus, judging by his interviews, this guy has a very stable self-esteem and a philosophical attitude to everything that is happening. Come on, when he was asked at some event "Which character would you kill", he said "Rhaenyra". He adores Aegon and loves this role, which he talks about a lot and often. During his promo for the first season, Tom literally glowed with inspiration. Also, he's currently starring in another series, and it doesn't feel like giving up an acting career. The comments under the new posts on his Instagram are mostly positive, so he knows for sure that his fans love and support him. Of course, I'm worried about his mood during the promo for the second season, but I think everything will be fine. Time will show.

Since there’s been a lot of yume related confessions, I want to give my whatever cents as something of an ex yume. I think that the community is misunderstood to a degree. However I think the view that most are nuts and unreasonable is also not unfounded at all, and that’s mostly why I don’t associate with the community anymore. It doesn’t surprise me that there’s considerable crossover with dolls - dolls are a really good way to have a 3 dimensional version of your FO (fictional other) and I actually got into this hobby through yume stuff! As for why I left? Well.

From the outside or to a newcomer the yume community is very welcoming and they make a huge deal about being ‘just like everyone else’ ’just normal people’. They will insist the stereotypes are not true (fighting over fictional characters, hating people over tiny things, ending friendships over head canon differences). The problem is this only rings true if you’re also a yume or until you ship their FO with another character. I’ve met people I was convinced were the nicest people to ever exist until they found out I shipped their FO with an existing character. You can truly only maintain decent friendships in that community if all your FOs are unrelated and there’s no clash, and I am saying this from years of experience in the community. If you are lucky you can find a group of people with the same FO who assure you ‘sharing’ is ok and just want to bond over a shared love of the character but you are one wrong headcanon away from ending up on their bad side, and you HAVE to be ok with the fact that at least one (often most) will appoint themselves as THE fan of that character and act like their word is law and matters more than anyone else’s, they WILL secretly judge anyone they don’t thing is as obsessed (rich) as them (usually cos they don’t buy as much merch) no matter how much they pretend they don’t (again, I know this from YEARS of being in the community) if so the stress of wondering if the person they’re subtweeting about today is you just isn’t worth it.

I admit I still check in on yume accounts on twitter for content purposes (to make a long story short I like the concept and dislike the community) so I saw yume people tearing the recent confessions apart and it reminded me why I left, it really showed me again how unselfaware they are about their own actions. One of them I recognize as a person who is extremely over protective of their FO, constantly making angry posts about how people with the wrong opinions on him should die, insulting or back hand complimenting shippers of the main ship for their FO, but they’re still insisting they’re a normal and rational person being subjected to unfair assumptions from outsiders and the confessor is the bully. Got RTs about how positive and wholesome the community is. They even accused the confessors of aphobia?! Well, this confession is coming from inside the house (as well as from an ace person confused what the hell being yume has to do with it given that the entire spectrum of sexuality is well represented in this community) although it’s a house I’m leaving because of people like you. I still sympathise with the reasons someone would be yume, including wanting a doll of their FO. It can be a very comforting thing for people. Lord knows just holding my dolls hand has gotten me through some tough days. But I regret getting involved in the actual yume community and all its rotten malice disguised as toxic uwu positivity so much. I don’t judge anybody for seeking comfort in imagining a relationship with a fictional character, that’s not the red flag for me.

The red flag is being active in the yume community itself, which I will never not associate with bullying, classism, crab bucket mentality and a persecution complex to exclude and belittle ‘outsiders’ by design. And when you add the doll community to that mix, it’s like the worst of both mixed together. I expect the usual suspects will have something to say about this confession over on twitter and elsewhere but I’ve heard it all before. I expect you to blame me for my experience and insist it’s a really positive space, because I know exactly what you guys are like and how much you love victim blaming. I know most of you won’t but if at least one of you would stop for a moment and think why people like me are saying things like this, maybe you can fix your attitudes and your community won’t stink as awful as it does.

I've always had this thought and wanted to ask other Tiger & Bunny fans about it, but how do you think the Petrov family was doing after Legend's death? How do you think Yuri got through law school to become a judge while taking care of his mom??

First off, I absolutely think Yuri and Olga were not wanting for money at all after Legend's death, even before Yuri became a judge. There were probably no financial worries whatsoever for Yuri getting through law school, either. Mr. Legend was the hero in Sternbild for the longest time, so there was likely a sizeable life insurance policy and inheritance for them.

Also for sure Maverick threw hush money their way because while the alcoholism was bad enough then that meant Hero TV ABSOLUTELY was not gonna let the news out that Legend's death was because he was about to kill his wife and child. Case in point for this one is that when Ben got the info for Kotetsu about NEXT powers fading, Ben only had info about the alcoholism; not that Legend was an abuser nor that Yuri was his son.

I could make an entirely separate post and go on for days about the fuckery I think was going on between Yuri and Maverick, but I wanna stay on-topic for your question. another day... maybe... if its asked...

So... onto the sadder part!

What Happened to the Petrovs?

So... disclaimer: I am NOT a mental health professional... however I am a childhood abuse survivor, so I'm really just pointing out patterns I recognize from my own experiences.

In Ep. 16 of Season 1 when we got Yuri's backstory reveal, I couldn't help but make mental note of his mom and how they interacted. When we first see her, she's not only elderly and disabled to where she needs mobile assistance, but she's also clearly having some sort of memory lapse into a time where the abuse wasn't happening, given her cheery way of talking when she does go into these episodes.

However... When Yuri reminds her that his father is dead, it shocks Olga and kind of snaps her out of it... and her instant response is to start verbally abusing Yuri and throwing things at him.

Yuri not flinching we could first think 'yeah his reflexes as Lunatic are probably making him aware he doesn't need to dodge' but like... what if it's that and that he's used to it...?

I think that the mental condition we see Olga with in the beginning hasn't been going on for too long. If we go off the first movie's timeline of things, Yuri implies that he came to Sternbild and was just appointed as a judge for the city.

Also there's this air in the way Yuri was walking around the house and talking to his mom in S1. Ep16 that makes it feel like this is one of the first times in a while he's been around her. he's also still learning the ropes of being a caretaker for an elderly person, bc as someone who used to work with CNAs and nurses in a retirement home the last thing you want to do when someone's having a memory lapse is forcefully pull them out of it, unless of course the writers for the show themselves just didn't know

All of this to me this feels like Yuri has only just recently come back to Sternbild and moved in with his mom in order to take care of her.

With Olga she obviously was very in love with her husband and adored her son before the downward spiral began. That much is apparent later on in Season 2 where we see Olga (albeit almost permanently in this memory-lapse state) being quite tender and affectionate towards Yuri and acting towards him like she did when he was a child (cue the heartbreaking flashback to how she really really wanted to make the cookies Yuri loved on the night she died).

However, in the moments where she's lucid again and acting negatively towards Yuri, I think this is the truth of their dynamic after Legend died.

Trauma from abuse can do... weird things to people.

Now any of us can sit back and say 'if my child went through the horrible agony of killing their own father to save the both of us I would simply cherish and care for them, RIP but I'm built dif', or 'if my husband started abusing me and my son I would simply divorce him' but... people and legality can be more complicated and messier than that.

I'm not going to get into the semantics on if Yuri's mom was a completely bad person or anything like that (bc the whole theme of the Petrovs is 'there are no only good or only bad people, there's just people), but I'll flat out say that I think a bit after Legend's death Olga was at the very least verbally abusing Yuri.

The complete disregulation of her brain from the abuse and violent death of her husband PLUS all the ways Hero TV was probably covering things up must have messed her up some type of way that she blamed Yuri for their life being turned upside down and was resentful towards him.

On the flipside, on Yuri's part, he absolutely has a deeply complicated relationship with his mother on TOP of how fucked up he is from his father. He doesn't regret stepping in as a child and saving her, but for sure there's a painful wound still stinging in his chest about how their relationship was damaged and never really recovered. With how bitter and toxic things with his mom probably got, Yuri might have left home at some point or was even kicked out.

As for Yuri's personal mental state, I mean the show highlights pretty clearly that he is NOT okay. Yuri has very intense PTSD to the point of constantly reliving when his powers activated and he killed his father to having hallucinations of his father mocking him.

His perception on morality has been pretty skewed to the point of being super vengeful to whoever he perceives as 'wicked', which comes through not just as Lunatic but in his dayjob as a judge where he's known for giving out heavy-handed sentences.

(i mean usually this vengefulness as Lunatic is directed to serial killers or violent criminals, so.... it could be worse, I guess...?).

Now... Back to Yuri and his mom... So for those of us who did survive a toxic family/parent, I'm sure we can look at anyone who asks and say 'lmao fuck my shitty family, I don't care what happens to them' but... let's get real, that shit hurts. Especially like in Yuri's case where the family member wasn't always abusive or at least wasn't in the beginning.

So when the times comes for whatever phone call that Yuri got to come take care of Olga in her old age, I think he was still bitter about how she treated him and was mentally prepared for everything to be nonstop difficult and depressing. And I mean from there we see in the series how things go; exactly that.. But as Olga's mental state deteriorates, in some fucked up bittersweet way her relationship with Yuri greatly improves. Like... to the point where in the very end Yuri was happy to talk to her on the phone and spend time with her. Which again, for those of us that have lived this IRL, is HUGE.

I'm not going to get into Season 2 endgame spoilers, but the ultimate fate of the Petrov family depresses me to no end. I DO like though in S2 Ep20 how Yuri was able to get a LITTLE bit of closure for himself.

I just still maintain a lot of things for him in the end of the series should have been handled differently.

By the way, do you have the impression that Turgon and Thingoil are characters that I think Tolkien liked and admired much more than most people who write fanfics, that Tolkie really admired them and has better opinions of them than many people in the fandom in relation to fanfic about them.

Hi Anon!

I am probably not the most knowledgeable about fandom-wide opinions because most of the opinions I'm exposed to are from people on my dash that I've chosen to follow, and I read fic by and recommended by that community of people. That being said, I try to branch out and remain open to various interpretations. My experience participating in fandom this way has actually led me to a lot of people and writers with quite nuanced, generally favourable opinions on Turgon and Thingol! It's only from those people that I have heard that this is not necessarily the norm 😔.

Based on what I have heard and occasionally encountered, I do think Tolkien "liked and admired" Turgon and Thingol more than many readers in fandom, but, crucially, I don't think he was approaching them with the same mindset as most of those fans who take an unfavourable, even hostile, view of them.

I'm not an expert on Tolkien the Man, i.e. who he was as a person and how that was brought into his writing, but I do know that he was a scholar and enjoyer of literary traditions that did not follow the conventions of dominant contemporary storytelling. Many of the stories that inspired Tolkien were about legendary, epic heroes who were violent, fallible, selfish, etc... but still heroes -- basically because the genre said so. I didn't study Norse and Anglo-Saxon culture and traditions like Tolkien, but I did study Homeric literature a bit and the stories and heroes of the Silmarillion have always reminded me of those legends and characters (it's why I love it!).

I think it's impossible to reach a conclusive argument about the morality of or a verdict on the actions of e.g., Homer's Achilles or Odysseus. It can be diverting, an interesting mental exercise, creatively fulfilling, but I think the storytelling is ultimately incompatible with that kind of analysis. The characters just are what they are, and if the text says they are Great then they are. That's that.

I believe it's that way with Thingol and Turgon. We are told they are glorious and wise kings but a lot of what they actually do doesn't seem very glorious or wise. (Feanor is like this, too -- big time lol.) I think that's because the genre/traditions the Silm is inspired by do not necessitate that the story back up a character's "quality of excellence." We are just invited to accept it.

My sense is that that is not satisfying to many people (works for me though!). It is interesting to judge characters for their actions. It's what contemporary novels/TV/film/etc invite us to do, and many like doing it (again, not really me, but I'm strange).

(Tolkien's later writings, like LotR and some of the post-LotR writings, do invite this kind of reading, and I think that Tolkien at that stage was taking pains to show as well as tell us that X character was noble/wise/brave/etc. Which brings me to an issue that I think is at the root of so many interpretive disagreements about the published Silmarillion, namely that it's compiled from a selection of drafts written over decades and those drafts are not always compatible with one another in terms of genre and tone. Christopher did his darned best, and anyone who has read through HoMe will appreciate what an impressive job he did, but while he could iron out inconsistencies, without extensive rewriting -- which he was determined not to do -- I think incompatibilities like this were unavoidable. So we get Tinwelint from the 1917-19 Tale of the Nauglafring blended in a soup with Thingol of the 1950s Narn i Hin Hurin and the result makes for a bit of a strange aftertaste. There's even some full-on characterisation whiplash for those who are looking very very closely, as us fans like to do. Turgon is another character whose story is drawn from disparate strands of the Silmarillion's textual history, hmm... maybe something there.)

So, I have been theorising that all this is possibly why there seems to be a disconnect between Tolkien's presentation of characters like Thingol and Turgon and how much of the fandom receives and interprets them. Storyteller and reader are looking at things through incompatible lenses. Which is interesting! I think the problems (and vitriol) arise when people are not recognising that their opinions are filtered through a particular lens.

Probably far more than you were looking for with this Ask, but this issue has been circulating in my mind. I hope it makes some sense. I am trying to articulate half-formed thoughts through the fog of a head cold.

I've had a lot of ideas about the project being public in LCSyS, but was holding off including it for few reasons – the audience’s voices would conflict with Es as their own character. Knowing the public was watching would change the way the prisoners acted (even if they thought they were acting natural). It’s a long time that the families would have to deal with the public knowing about their loved one’s almost-crime. I also like the idea of this au ending with the prisoners returning to very normal lives. 

Buuuuut it is such a fun idea, and popularity seems an essential part of an actors au. So, I’m not naming this as canon, but here’s a pitch if you liked that idea and wanted to run with it :3

The team doesn’t tell the participants that they’ve been recording/collecting certain material to release. If a translation is left out by accident, the prisoners just assume it’s for a foreign team member – they have no idea how close/far Milgram reaches. 

The third trial begins. The prisoners are inside the prison, and on the final stretch of the trials. On the outside, Jackalope contacts families for signatures to release the material publicly. The team thought about censoring names and things, but seeing current fans’ investigation skills, they knew it was a matter of time before they put pieces together anyway. This may be super illegal but for the sake of the story I’ll say that family consent is enough lmao.

Some of them are easy to convince to sign off on everything, since it can raise awareness for their loved one’s struggles. Muu’s family takes the longest, as it would risk ruining their reputation. (They’re only swayed because it truly is a great opportunity to show off Muu’s talents for those modeling scouts, and she didn’t actually kill anyone in the end.) Kazui’s family refuses to release his info, but Hinako uses sway with her marital status to sign off instead (I pictured things happening fast enough where she hasn’t gotten an official divorce yet). Hinako still struggles with what he did, but she thinks he’s doing something incredibly brave now. I’m not 100% sure what’s going through Amane’s father’s mind, but if the murder really was in line with the cult’s beliefs, maybe he believes that Amane will be be a shining representation of their religion. He wants to show her off as their little golden child.

The experiment is published in its current form: music videos, voice dramas, timeline conversations, interrogation questions, etc. It’s brought to more than just science/psychology circles, though. Jackalope has no shame in marketing it as entertainment, hence the stockholders mentioned. He assures the sociologists that this will be a major breakthrough for them. He tells music labels he's got the new hit thing for them. He leans into the excitement of releases and merchandise in the hopes of gaining attention for the experiment. Needless to say, it works. Even though the audience has no sway over Es’ decisions, they are encouraged to make decisions for themselves on what they would judge each prisoner. There’s the same types of theory/analysis/discourse posts passed around. 

When the trials end, the prisoners are released into the world to find they’re famous. Instead of trudging back to their lives feeling that society hates them, they find tons of adoring fans telling them how much they understand and forgive them. Even if their final verdict was guilty, they have hundreds of voices assuring them that they are loved. That they are not alone. This attention really helps Haruka, Amane, (and maybe Es) who don’t have a good home to go back to. Not only can they reenter society, they are welcomed with open arms. They are looked after and showered in love. Some of the adults realize they want to use this popularity to lead the charge of social change. They create/support projects meant to help people who are facing their struggles.

And of course, there’s the other type of fame as well. Yuno loves answering fanmail and turning her karaoke hobby into a music career. Kazui goes from a life of feeling rejected and disgusting to scrolling through comments upon comments of men oogling him. Mahiru gets offers from fashion magazines and blogs to write up sections about self-love. Amane gets to live out her dream of being a performer, hinted at in her first two mvs. Fuuta is flustered by all the positive attention his appearance/voice is getting. Mikoto… well, I just wish him luck when he opens tiktok…

Which brings us to the live event! The prisoners have tried to keep in touch while adjusting to their new lives as almost-murderers-turned-idols. They’re amazed at how well-recieved the trial songs were. Those were some of their most personal, shameful secrets, and people relate to them? People love singing them?? People want a concert featuring them??? Jackalope encourages them to get together for one last encore. Some are thrilled with the opportunity, others are still nervous about the whole thing. Some think it’s in poor taste, that Jackalope is milking them for entertainment. But with a bit of conversing amongst themselves, they realize they all want a chance to sing like that again, and see each other in one place again. (It’s ironic because in my head Mahiru is the one to convince everyone to come ;--;) 

It’s strange putting on the uniforms again. Es is unsure about putting on their guard’s cloak. But the minute they stop onstage, they’re met with wild applause. They can sing their fears and dreams to a huge crowd and see in real time how it’s reaching others. They hear the cheers after each song. They hear that it’s streamed all over the world. All of them have an absolute blast, and pour their heart and soul into their performances.

Hello. Welcome to my first post I hope it isn't too shit for your tastes. I know that he's an asshole but as my tag says, I'm mentally unstable. I don't condone any actions the characters I write about have done, I'm just here for fan service. So here it is.

Judge Claude Frollo X Fem!Angel!reader

Claude was convinced that he knew what an angel looked like. He knew what you, his lover, looked like.

Claude was convinced that an angel looked like the most beautiful creature in the world, while demons looked hideous. He didn't know it was the other way around.

You looked very human, but only because you were always in human form, you never showed anyone in the land of the living your angel form.

You had a normal face, human body, and regular skin. But you had these large gorgeous white feathery wings, and two golden halos, crossed over one another. The wings often got in the way, they trailed on the floor behind you slightly and you have often smacked a few people with them, either by accident or because they stepped on them by mistake. The halo's would glow slightly in the dark.

Claude was so sure of his ideals on angles he had countless tapestries of gorgeous women in white dresses with beautiful wings. His ideologies only solidified once he met you.

The day that he met you was something neither of you had forgotten.

Frollo and some of his men were traveling to the outskirts of Paris to investigate a campsite that had suddenly popped up. Convinced it was a gypsy camp they set out to raid and purge it. They were very wrong.

Instead of being met with fearful gypsies, they were met with you. A woman with large angel wings and halos. A woman in a flowing baby blue dress with white crosses decorating the hem and a white and light grey corset. A woman with a soft, wistful, almost sounding lost voice.

The judge jumped off of his horse and approached you as you greeted the humans.

"Hello there humans. How may I help you?"

The men were flabbergasted when Frollo accidentally stood on one of your wings and, in surprise, it shot up and smacked him dead in the face, causing him to tumble back.

He stood up and stared at you as you folded your wings once again while apologizing.

"I'm so sorry dear human. My intention was not to cause you harm. Oh my are you alright, I swear sometimes these things have minds of their own."

The judge was flabbergasted at the sight of you. As soon as you set your wings back into place he got down onto one knee with his head bowed low. He then kneeled down on both knees, placed his hands down on the ground and laid his head on them and began praying to you. The soldiers did the same.

"Dear angel walking this earth please forgive me for stepping upon your holy wings and causing you harm. Please forgive me for my insolence of not bowing before you sooner. Please bless me with your forgiveness and light." He pleaded to you.

You thought he was weird. Very weird.

Over time the two of you became closer, before eventually falling in love with one another. You had managed to make him see the error of his ways towards the Romani people. He did as you said and made peace with them, after all, who was he to deny a messenger from heaven?

More time passed and Claude eventually proposed to you. That was when things around the two of you started to become odd.

Claude noticed that you had become far more possessive around this one woman. She wore a tight fitting black and red dress with far too much makeup for Claude to be comfortable with anymore.

She had long black hair and deep red eyes with flawless pale skin. He thought he knew what was going on with you. He thought you were jealous, after all the mystery woman did give him very flirtatious eyes and try to make him leave you for her.

Thinking that he knew the answer to your possessive behaviour as of late, he began showing you off more. He kissed your hands more, especially with the strange woman around. He bought you more gifts than usual and presented them to you in public. He thought that this would ease your mind about him possibly leaving you while simultaneously telling the woman he would never leave you for her.

But it didn't work. None of it.

The woman was more persistent than ever. And it was apparent to everyone that she was up to something. The more people focused on her, the more they would feel like she was dangerous.

One day, you had had enough of her. So you decided to expose her for what you knew she was. A demon. She had come to the land of the living to try and snatch Frollo's soul to drag both it and him to hell.

"Hello there judge~ How are you tod-" the woman started before being pushed away by your wings.

You stood between the demon in disguise and your soon to be husband, wings stretched out and puffed. The people around you stared in shock. You had never had such an angry look before.

Frollo was able to see over your shoulder as he stepped up to you.

"My dear, let us leave she is not worth your time." He muttered, trying to keep you from doing something that may end with you losing your halos.

"You must learn to stay in hell, where you came from you wretched beast." You spat at the woman.

"CRISTO!" You yelled. Immediately after that her eyes turned black.

She shifted back to her natural state. A woman with large horns and pitch black eyes with goop dripping from them. She lunged as people screamed in fear.

You too revealed your natural form. A large all white figure with four arms. Two more sets of wings grew from your back. Eyes open along your body, all with different beautiful colours.

The demon woman took one look at your angel form and froze with pure fear, before screaming in terror and erupted into flames as she escaped back to hell.

You turned to face Claude, he too looked terrified.

Everyone learnt a lesson that day. The images of angels were changed to look like the reality of their appearance. The teachings of the lord above became very different after you burnt all of their Bibles and replaced them with your Bible. The true Bible, the one that god himself had written.

"This is what a true angel looks like my love. We look like a terrifying creature, with many eyes, wings arms and other terrifying features to scare off demons. They look like what you think angels look like, in order to steal your soul" You spoke, your voice still wistful and lost sounding, but it was also distorted slightly.

When that happened people who loved those of the same gender were no longer shunned. Women's anatomy was taught properly. By you. A woman.

Wilder vs Zhang

I have somethings to say about Wilder, but first, I want to discuss the PPV event as a whole.

It seems like having big fights promoted by Riyadh Season is going to be the norm. Which is fine - really. The fans get the fights they want to see and the fighters get paid well, so it makes it worth their while. It makes dollars, so it makes sense. However, what I don't like about Riyadh Season is the pageantry that comes with it. This event being a prime example.

Every event that has been promoted by Riyadh Season moves at a snails pace. The main card started at 2:00 pm eastern and it ended at 7:30 pm. That shit is ridiculous! A PPV fight event shouldn't be more than 2 1/2 hours, but its definitely bound happen when you add in a lot of unnecessary bullshit between fights like having a 20 minute rap performance from some unknown rapper.

Surprisingly there was no rap performance this time. Instead we had the "pleasure" of hearing from the excellency, Salman Al Saud, give his take on the previous fight. Im not mad at the guy - I know he means well. I can tell he is a fan of the sport and what he has done helped boxing keep the momentum of interest steady as opposed to people only tuning in two or three times a year. But man, the pacing of these events are horrific.

Alright, lets talk about Deontay Wilder. His last fights were sad to watch. Tyson Fury really did a number on the guy. Yes, his lack of boxing skills and the weight difference was the main factor for him losing, but this time around there is another factor for his loss. The man lost his passion. Wilder looked very pensive and didn't rely on his signature "RIGHT HOOK" too much, and when he did, it was very hallow.

In the post fight interview after his loss to Joseph Parker, he seemed very content with himself and stated that if this was his last fight then, well, it is what is. Im paraphrasing, but that was the energy he was giving.

Ive been following Wilder loosely for the past few years. The most notable thing was that he partook in a reality game show called "traitors", where you live in a house with several other people and you have to lie and outwit your opponents to make it to the end and win $200,000. The show showcased that Wilder is a bad judge of character. He ended up leaving the show before the halfway mark. During the shows reunion, he stated -again Im paraphrasing- the reason why he left is because being in that house brought up past childhood trauma and that him being on the show where he has to lie to win goes against who he is. Im not sure why he would join a show like that to begin with. Maybe he needed the money? Yeah, he need the money. Thats why these people join these shows.

I say all that to point out after losing the trilogy fights to Fury, his mental health has taken a massive hit. Before the trilogy, he was a hardheaded knockout artist. Now he is emotional when you ask him questions during interviews. However, he does seem to be in good spirts when hes not fighting, so I think retirement is the best thing for him. He had a good career. If he decides to fight again i think - you know what, no. I think Zhang knocked some sense into him. Hes done.

@nightofnetter Excuse me, I know I get this question all the time, as well as (abled-bodied) people just thinking that I must be aroace, or even, as insufferable Big Name Fan petitprincess1 would say, "mentally disabled", by default because I'm wheelchair bound which means I face like, real oppression and have more pressing issues in my life to worry about than obsessing over fanfiction for a show that I don't even like, but I'm reblogging the entire wasted tangent that I guess if you're ableist, (which I'm guessing that you are, judging by the obnoxious moving gif that could cause actual serious physical harm to someone in your header) you could say that your whole rant that I didn't need to see anyway has fallen on deaf ears here, but I've decided to reblog with full context (despite you trying to hide it like I wouldn't notice) in order to publicly humiliate you anyway, because I think I'm going to genuinely enjoy being the one asking these very same questions that have been asked of me for years, for once.... Um, so, like.... I know that you're obviously not okay right now so I'm not going to ask that... But like... I'm not sorry because just like... What the genuine ever loving fuck is the matter with you? What the fuck happened to you? And what the fuck is wrong with you?

First of all, if you don't even like the show that much, then stop reading the fanfiction and leave the fandom and you can remove all of the posts pertaining to it from your blog, including mine. Nobody needs anymore obnoxious fantis here, and if I were you I would just go ahead and have your blog be deleted all together.

Second of all, and again, the only thing here that's truly harmful is the fact that you have a tacky moving gif as your header that may cause people with certain sensitivities to have actual seizures...

Like, is that ... Cop? In your obnoxious moving gif header that could cause seizures, also having a seizure? ... Were you having a seizure when you wrote that huge wall of text in the tags of my own post thinking that I wouldn't catch it and reblog in full for everyone else to see just to make sure you know that I hate you? I would assume that you were having your own little seizure on my post just then, all things considered.

But this video made by a lovely 25 year old ace in the fandom showcases the fact that terminally online aroaces just like you have been harassing and bullying aces just like her for using fiction to experiment with and figure out their own sexuality and where they might fall on the ace spectrum and she talks about as well as provides evidence for the fact some of the people using Alastor to help figure themselves out also happen to be aroace minors who are being bullied, harassed and policed by militant aroace weebs just like you and while I don't necessarily approve of minors being in this fandom at all I do think it's very sad so I wanted to just show at least the thumbnail of this video to prove that it exists and it's not only the "acephobic" allosexuals (is that how you say it?) that think your behavior has passed obnoxious and annoying at this point and that you need to stop with this shit. "There you go, little man. Very good."

Geralt's voice was so incredibly soft. Amaryllis didn't realize that such a deep, raspy drawl could become so gentle. She felt a smile break out on her face as Geralt gently tipped the bottle so the baby goat could latch on better.

"You're very good with animals," Amaryllis said as she watched the baby goat place its front hooves over Geralt's lap. "Did you grow up on the farm or you did you buy it later?"

"I grew up there. Ever since I was a kid, I was always surrounded by animals. Mostly horses and cows. We used to own some goats as well back then. There's a chance we'll buy some again. Eskel would love that. Goats are his favorite."

"Eskel...?"

"My brother. One of them."

"Ah, right. How many of you are there, again?"

Geralt petted the goat's head, then gave Amaryllis a bright smile. Whenever he talked about his family, his face lit up. It was clear they meant a lot to him, and that he would do anything for them- the same way Amaryllis would also walk through fire to protect the ones she loved. She added "we're both protective and family-centric" to her mental list, right below "we both love animals."

"There's four of us. Eskel, Coen, Lambert, and me. I think you would get along well with them."

"I get along well with anyone who loves animals," Amaryllis replied softly. She scratched the goat behind its ear. "I was always fond of these goats. I even brought one into my room when I was five. Papa freaked out."

"I bet," Geralt laughed. His eyes glimmered when Amaryllis mentioned Jaskier. "I've heard he isn't a big fan of the goats."

"He hates them," Amaryllis chuckled. "I mean, actually I think he's scared of them but he doesn't want to admit it."

Geralt hummed softly. The baby goat stopped nursing, so Geralt gently let it go. He wiped the bottle off with a tissue.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm here, then," he said, "he can finally make someone deal with them. Don't tell me that's not the only reason he's letting me stay."

Amaryllis laughed, shaking her head at him. It was clear Geralt was only joking, judging by the mirth in his eyes, and his small smile.

As promised, Amaryllis dedicated the next couple of days to talking to the individual candidates, getting to know them a little bit.

She's learnt that Geralt was indeed very introverted and a little standoffish, who needed some time to loosen up around strangers. It seemed like he had only a handful of people he felt completely comfortable around, and it warmed Amaryllis's heart to see that she was soon becoming one of them. While Geralt was nearly not the chatterbox that Jaskier or even Amaryllis was, if he found a topic he was interested in, he could talk for almost hours. He was very smart, but thought himself not to be, for some reason. He had a very special, dry sense of humor that mostly manifested in bad dad jokes and cynical one-liners that made Amaryllis snort with laughter every time. He had a very soft, very caring heart underneath the seemingly rough exterior.

He was a wonderful father, too, which felt a little bittersweet. On one hand, Amaryllis felt her heart melt whenever she saw Geralt with Ciri. He was completely gone for his daughter - Amaryllis often wondered that if Geralt was her actual father, he would've been the same with her. She didn't envy Ciri, she actually really liked the girl, and she deserved a good father. That didn't mean a nasty little voice inside her brain didn't perk up, sometimes, telling her that she wasn't wanted by Geralt the same way Ciri was.

But then, she reminded herself that Geralt didn't even know about her existence, and the way he was with her now- caring, patient, and clearly more open-minded than he usually would be, meant that she did have a place in his heart.

For similarities, she noted their mutual love for animals, nature, and sports. Geralt was surprised that Amaryllis was a rugby fan, but he immediately offered to teach her how to play it. Neither of them could sing to save their lives (which pained Jaskier to no end, in relation to his daughter), they both liked their coffee black and they were both protective of their loved ones.

All in all, Geralt was a surprisingly fun guy, and Amaryllis took a great liking to him. He could have very well been her father, and she would have been completely okay with it.

To her surprise, she didn't even need to seek out Radovid, because he approached her instead, himself. Amaryllis immediately noted they both enjoyed taking matters into their own hands when it was needed.

He sat next to Amaryllis on the porch and started talking to her on his own volition, very carefully avoiding bringing up the actual reason they were spending time together. He was very smart, it was clear why his business thrived. He always seemed to know what he needed to say to butter up his conversation partner - though, it seemed like it wasn't just about that, this time. He genuinely seemed to be interested in talking to her.

Amaryllis never thought arguing with someone could be fun until this point.

"Okay, but the point is the adrenaline. And the scare. So, it's a horror."

"A psychological horror, maybe," Radovid hummed, "but not in the strict sense of the word. It's more of a thriller because it gets your brain going in a way a horror doesn't."

"A horror movie gets my brain going!" Amaryllis huffed, though she couldn't help a smile. "I'm investigating in every second!"

"Not in the way you do during a thriller. A horror spoon-feeds you the information- which isn't necessarily bad, I like it, too, but in a thriller, you need to find the answers on your own."

Amaryllis shook her head with a fond smile.

"Maybe you're watching the bad kind of horror movies, then."

Radovid chuckled softly. While he seemed to be initiative, he also knew right well when it was time to retreat.

"Maybe we could watch a good one together."

Amaryllis hid her grin in her tea mug as she expanded her list in her head. Horror movie fans, which no one would have guessed of either of them. He also liked fashion and had a good eye for interior design, things Amaryllis was also interested in. Amaryllis decided to ask him for some tips on the wedding decorations, strictly in secret because if Jaskier found out she was asking someone else for help in that area, he would be offended.

When Amaryllis first saw him, she was sure he would be stuck-up. He was a bit of a control freak, for sure, but he liked having fun. He shared some crazy stories with Amaryllis about house parties gone wrong that made her practically neigh with laughter. He seemed to be always down for mischief, he simply didn't have the time to get involved in it too often.

He had a sensitive streak in him too, maybe some insecurities as well that Amaryllis could relate to. They were both very good at hiding those insecurities, though. So, that was another thing they had in common - they both knew how to move forward seemingly unharmed even when things were falling apart around them.

They were also both ambidextrous, and cleaning relaxed them. So, the list was building up nicely.

So, Amaryllis would have really loved if it turned out she was Geralt's, but she would've also enjoyed finding out she was Radovid's.

She stared down at the Kinder Surprise he ironically sneaked into her pocket, wondering what this line of thinking must have meant.

One thing that was obvious about Yennefer from the start, was that she hid a truckload of insecurities beneath her sassy exterior.

She was very good at witty comebacks, which Amaryllis also often excelled at, hence why she often won the banters with her papa. Yennefer's sense of humor was similar to Geralt's in some ways (Amaryllis wondered if it was part of their personalities, of if they rubbed off on each other during the time they dated), a little dry and using lots of irony. Amaryllis had a lot of fun listening to her.

She could be very soft-spoken too, and it was clear she also had a very caring nature. She seemed to still carry a lot of doubts within her about her cooking skills, though Amaryllis was sure she belittled herself a little bit too much.

Yennefer loved to gossip. She wasn't outright mean but she definitely seemed to enjoy getting involved. That was another thing they had in common.

"So, what do you think," Yennefer whispered to her with a cheeky smile, "what is Valdo trying to overcompensate for?"

Amaryllis snorted. "Papa always says that he has a small... you know."

"Oh, I know. A flute," Yennefer said, feigning innocence. Amaryllis laughed harder.

"Well, what do you think?"

"I'm sure he's actually a very lame person. That's why he's antagonizing Jaskier all the time. He's trying to hide the fact he's a miserable moron."

Amaryllis grinned. Yennefer sent her a little wink, and she felt warmth spread through her chest.

While she often acted mysterious and unapproachable, it was clear she could warm up like butter in the right company. And frankly, she was adorable - she made Amaryllis swear that she wouldn't tell anyone, and then she showed her the plush unicorn.

It made Amaryllis squeal. She also had a soft spot for unicorns, and she still often slept with stuffed animals, especially when Sara wasn't next to her for some reason.

She could hold her liquor as well, apparently, which she was immensely proud of. Amaryllis was also pretty well-versed in that area. Jaskier never understood how she could still stay on her feet even when he was already crawling on all fours.

"Do you think Jaskier would let me help out in the kitchen?" Yennefer asked her. "I know I keep crowing but I actually do like to cook. But then again," she sent Amaryllis a smile, "I'd only cook here if you joined me."

"Gladly."

Amaryllis wasn't so bad at cooking, either, and the idea of cooking together with Yennefer actually sounded really nice.

If it turned Yennefer was her other parent, Amaryllis would be happy...

Oh, wait. Shit. She actually really started liking all three of them. That was... not quite the plan. The plan was to peg one of them down as the one and only and move on from there. But they were all so much fun, so different in their personalities and yet, still clicking with her instantly.

She once again found herself wondering what's next.

Jaskier cursed the way his heart fluttered when he spotted them together at a table in the dining room. Seeing three of his ex-lovers having coffee together was an incredibly surreal sight, one that he needed to get used to in the upcoming weeks.

He calmed down a little bit, not feeling homicidal anymore, but he still did his best to avoid them as much as he could. He realized being angry at them made no sense - after all, they were just helpless victims in Amaryllis's scheme -, and creating an uncomfortable, hostile environment wasn't good for either of them. He passed Amaryllis the reigns and stood back to observe the process from afar, instead.

He immediately realized they got along really well. Jaskier would have lied if he said seeing Amaryllis laughing and smiling around them didn't warm his heart. His treacherous mind wondered to dangerous areas, sometimes, reminiscing about something he never had - Geralt hushing a crying baby Amaryllis gently until she fell asleep against his chest, his big hands cradling her tiny head gently. Or Radovid helping an elementary schooler Amaryllis with her homework, taking her hand, and showing her how to form the perfect letters. Teenage Amaryllis confiding in Yennefer about her first crush, blushing as Yennefer coos and playfully ruffles her hair before she threatens everyone who came close to her daughter with assault.

In those moments, Jaskier's heart fluttered like a caged little bird. He may have even let out a dreamy sigh, here and there- until reality hit him in the face and he realized he couldn't turn back time. Amaryllis wouldn't get these moments, what if it was too late now to try and chase something like this?

As so many times in his life, his heart triumphed over his restless brain when Radovid noticed him staring, and sent him a smile. Jaskier felt his cheeks flush.

"Hey," Yennefer greeted him as she turned around in her chair. "Wanna have coffee with us?"

Her voice sounded almost hopeful, and her eyelashes were so goddamn long. Jaskier's composure crumbled like a wet biscuit as he walked to their table.

"Some coffee with your sugar, we mean," Geralt grinned. Jaskier hated the way his smile made his heart leap again. "You still drink it like that?"

"I'm not a psychopath like you," Jaskier replied eloquently as he sat down. "Black coffee, ugh. Why would you want to inflict such pain upon yourself?"

"Why would you want to drink syrup?"

"Hey, did you call me over to insult my coffee-drinking habits?" Jaskier snorted. He reached for an empty cup and filled it up, before dumping two packets of sugar in it. Radovid laughed.

"I won't say anything but... damn."

"How are you guys getting along?" Jaskier asked as he stirred his coffee. He decided to play along and be nice, just out of politeness, of course. "Isn't it uncomfortable?"

"I'm in the middle," Yennefer sighed. "So, you can imagine. A sharp elbow here, a hard knee there. I think my side is all bruised up."

"Geralt snores really bad," Radovid added, "I've never heard anything like this. It's something straight out of the X-files."

"Don't listen to them, it's all peachy," Geralt said, dryly. There was a cheeky glint in his eyes as well.

Jaskier hummed. They haven't killed each other so far, so that was good.

"And what about..." he trailed off. They all looked at him expectantly. Jaskier bit his lip.

"What about Amaryllis? Did you guys get any closer to a solution?"

The silence that followed his question spoke for itself. Honestly, it made sense. Jaskier had no idea how Amaryllis even planned to figure this out in the first place- after all, enjoying someone's company didn't mean they were related.

"She's a wonderful girl," Yennefer said. She took a sip of her coffee, getting lost in her thoughts for a second. "Very smart. She's a lot like you."

"Aww, you just called me smart!" Jaskier teased. Yennefer rolled her eyes with a small smile.

"I was going to say except for that one trait."

"How rude."

"She's a very cheeky one, too."

"She really is very intelligent," Radovid chimed in with a smile. "Really good conversation partner, but mischievous, too."

"Sweet girl," Geralt smiled. "She's also getting along with Ciri really well. As for the truth... I'm not sure."

"We're not sure," Yennefer corrected him softly. "I also have no idea. In some ways, she's exactly like me, in others, she's my exact opposite."

Jaskier fiddled with a lock of his hair as he looked over each of them. Clearly, he could see bits of them in Amaryllis, the same way he saw himself in her. But he didn't know if it was just his mind playing tricks on him.

Maybe they needed to aim for physical similarities, if the answer wasn't so easy personality-wise, but that one was a little tricky, with Amaryllis resembling Jaskier the most. Still, if he looked at them, and let his eyes linger a bit longer... Amaryllis's chin had a shape that was similar to Geralt's. And when she frowned, it looked just like Geralt's own scowl. But... her nose was a bit like Radovid's from a certain angle, and the way she motioned with her hands was like he did, sometimes... but her skin tanned easier, so it wasn't a reach to imagine she was Yennefer's... and the dexterity of her locks kind of reminded Jaskier of Yennefer's hair, and their smiles also looked a little similar, and...

Oh, God. She could've been literally either of theirs.

He was surely going crazy staring at them and analyzing their faces. It seemed like Amaryllis's weird obsession rubbed off on him. Also, that beard was a really good look on Geralt. And those small wrinkles around Radovid's eyes were very attractive. And he noticed a few white hairs among the black in Yennefer's hair and it was so adorable, they were so gorgeous and they all smelled really good. Was it his heat coming up, or a stroke?

"You okay?" Yennefer asked him, a little worried. Jaskier blinked.

"Yeah, it's just you're hot... the coffee. The coffee is really hot."

He grabbed a biscuit off the plate and stuffed it into his mouth, effectively shutting himself up before he said more stupid things.

"My money is on Yennefer," Sara said casually. She smiled at Amaryllis who stared towards the table where her father was talking with the candidates. "What do you say, Miss Holmes?"

"I absolutely have zero idea," Amaryllis admitted with a sigh. "I like them all, but I don't know which one it is."

"Well, you know what," Marion chimed in, casually popping a sugar cube into her mouth, "if Geralt isn't your daddy, he can be mine."

"Marion!" Amaryllis gasped in horror. "You're talking about my potential father here!"

"You should have heard what Vera said about Radovid!"

"You snitch!" Vera huffed, whacking Marion over the head. "Don't judge my fetish for blond guys!"

"You are all so gross," Amaryllis shuddered. She looked at her fiancée pleadingly. "Please, tell me you're not rooting for Yennefer because you want to bone her."

"There's only one person here that I want to bone," Sara grinned, pinching Amaryllis's butt playfully. Ciri decided this was the perfect moment to join their table, causing Amaryllis and Sara to blush deeply, and Vera and Marion to cackle.

"I hope you don't mind," she said, already plopping down on a chair. "I hear you are all being delightfully gross. I like that."

"Welcome to hell," Amaryllis laughed. Ciri grinned at her. She was a sassy, but kind-hearted kid, and Amaryllis really liked her. She remembered practically begging her papa to give her a little sibling when she was younger. It was almost like she got one, now, even if it wasn't certain that Amaryllis was Geralt's kid.

"How do you enjoy having your own private residence?"

"It's great," Ciri admitted with a smile, which quickly turned into a smirk. "So, who do you think is gonna sleep with who very soon?"

Sara spat out her coffee. Amaryllis's eyes widened. Vera and Marion once again burst out laughing.

"What... what?" Amaryllis stuttered. Ciri nodded towards the other table.

"I can smell repressed emotions. Sniff the air."

Amaryllis shook her head in disbelief. She peered towards Jaskier, who giggled at something Radovid said. Yennefer gave Geralt a playful shove.

If Amaryllis sniffed the air, she could actually smell her own confusion.

Jaskier was still trying to catch his breath after laughing so hard when someone approached their table. He looked up and gasped in delight.

"Vespula!" He cooed as he rose to his feet. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, grinning. "What brought you to my humble inn?"

"You're asking like you don't know," Vespula chuckled. "I came by to visit my grandma, and I decided to see whose lap you were on this time."

Jaskier chuckled fondly. Vespula, while not as close a confidante as Essi and Priscilla were, was a friend. She was Angela's granddaughter, so she sometimes dropped by the inn to visit her, and she checked on Jaskier as well. Her and Jaskier actually hooked up once or twice while Amaryllis was little- she was pretty much the last person Jaskier dabbled with, in the romantic sense. She was another Omega, who turned out to be a good gossip partner, rather than a serious relationship.

She looked down at Jaskier's confused companion, blinking.

"Oh, three at once? Not bad."

"Erm, this is Vespula," Jaskier said with a chuckle. "She's an old friend of mine."

"I was there when Jaskier gave birth," Vespula announced with a smile. Yennefer's eyebrows jumped up.

"I'm sorry?"

"I was the nurse in training," Vespula explained, "it was the first childbirth I've ever seen. It made me realize I never want to pop a baby out myself."

"Was it that bad?" Geralt asked. Jaskier sent him a pointed look.

"Oh, well. The crowning is one hell of a visual experience. Very surreal."

"Bon Appetit to me," Radovid sighed, putting down his fork. Jaskier groaned.

"Thanks for the explicit details, Vespula. These are my... eh, you know what? This is insane already. So, you know how I said I didn't know who the other parent was?"

"Yes, and you screamed three names during the... oh!" Vespula's eyes widened, and her lips curled into a smirk. "It's them, huh?"

"Indeed."

"Amazing," Vespula grinned, clapping her hands together in delight. "You know, Jaskier and I also slept together, so I know exactly why you're all wagging your tails around him. Don't give me that look, we all know what a young Jaskier looked like. Not like he's such a bad piece of skin, now. I checked his phone number on his medical file and hit him up."

"That's deeply unethical," Radovid huffed. Vespula laughed.

"Deeply, indeed. Anyways, don't worry, I'm not in the picture, the pie is all yours to eat. Question is, who's gonna eat the pie?"

"Vespula..." Jaskier groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. Vespula ignored him.

"I assume the one who filled it in the first place. And I know just who did."

She grinned at their shocked expression.

"You do?" Geralt asked, his eyes wide. Vespula nodded.

"Of course. Babies look exactly like their parents when they come out fresh."

"Who did Amaryllis look like," Jaskier asked, grabbing Vespula's shoulders. "Tell me!"

"Well, it's so obvious," Vespula smirked, "can't believe I didn't notice right away!"

"Who did she look like?" Yennefer asked, leaning over the table in her haste to get the answer she needed. Radovid looked like he was on the verge of passing out.

"In that moment, she looked exactly like Jaskier and..."

She looked down on her wristwatch and made a dramatic gasp.

"Oh, I need to get back to the hospital, sorry about that."

"No," Jaskier groaned, reaching after her as Vespula slipped out of his grasp, "you can't just drop a bomb like that and then leave! Vespula!"

She shrugged and sauntered out of the dining room without saying anything else. Jaskier huffed and gaped as he turned back to the other three.

"Okay, I think we're all losing our minds a little bit," Radovid concluded, "she was obviously just taking the piss out of us."

"She almost got us," Geralt chuckled. Yennefer rolled her eyes.

Jaskier plopped back down on his chair with a sigh. Indeed, this situation seemed to be messing with everyone's heads.

Ebony Jackson hasn’t been on TV in almost 14 years— but the star of the very first season of 16 and Pregnant says she’s still being judged and ridiculed by the show’s fans, even after all this time. 

Ebony— who was one of only two girls from the very first season of “16 and Pregnant” who wasn’t chosen to move on to ‘Teen Mom— took to Instagram on Tuesday to talk about how being on the MTV reality show has impacted her life. 

“Since this show, my life has literally been a wild ass rollercoaster with my life under a microscope,” she said.

In her new rant posted to her Instagram and Instagram Stories, Ebony— who gave birth to daughter Jocelyn on the show— said that the show’s fans are particularly harsh to her about her 2011 arrest, when she and her baby daddy Josh Rendon were thrown in jail for child endangerment and drug charges after their home was raided by police and discovered to be absolutely filthy.

Jocelyn– then just a toddler— was temporarily removed from Josh and Ebony’s care after the arrest.

Ebony stated that she recently got an influx of new followers on Instagram, due to someone on the Internet making a post about her that mentioned the arrest.

“I see that somebody put up a story, or some kind of update about me, which is a lot of assumptions. And if you guys are still basing my life off of how I was as a teen, that’s ridiculous,” Ebony said. “That’s not how I am now. I’m a completely changed person.”

Although Ebony wasn’t chosen to be on ‘Teen Mom,’ she has had a very interesting life since appearing on “16 and Pregnant.” She and Josh got married, had another daughter together and then got divorced. Ebony then married James Baldrick and had another daughter with him. Over the past 14 years, Ebony has gone to rehab, suffered an ectopic pregnancy loss, left Josh for a woman, and lost custody of Jocelyn and Jayda– her other daughter with Josh. She also suffered some serious medical issues, including an accident that left her in a coma for four days. 

Josh’s mother, Christy, now has custody of Jocelyn and Jayda. Meanwhile, Josh is currently in prison, after being being sentenced in February from charges— including attempted murder of a police officer— stemming from a 2021 police chase in a stolen car. (He took a plea deal to avoid the attempted murder charge.) His release date is currently listed as October 2033, and he doesn’t have a parole hearing until 2027.

Anyway, Ebony insisted that, these days, her life is nothing like it was when she was on “16 and Pregnant,” or how it was in 2011 at the time of her arrest.

“I’m not on drugs, I have a very good job and I take very good care of my kids that I do have with me,” she said. (She’s referring to her Jaelyn, her daughter with James, and her stepdaughter.) 

“And my other two [kids] that I share custody with, I will definitely be in touch with them soon. But I had to get better from being literally in a coma for four days. I was on disability for a whole year. But please, make all the judgements about my life that you want to. I’m done.” 

On her Instagram page, Ebony posted another video about her life today.

“I am so tired of your assumptions and lies about my f**king life! For crying out loud, I am 32 years old. That arrest happened when I was 21. That’s damn near 11 years ago, guys,” she said. “I am a completely changed person, I have a very good career, I have a house. I’m literally complete opposite of what I was back then. But you guys give me no benefit of the doubt.

“…you have no idea what I’ve gone through mentally, physically.”

Ebony explained the arrest, and also what led to the events that happened in 2011.

“I’m tired of your assumptions about me and that situation. You weren’t there and don’t know anything other than pictures and videos…” she said. “‘How did it get that bad?’ you keep asking or ‘I would never let my house get that way’ comments from you all. First of all, I had lost a CHILD prior to that arrest, as a matter of fact, about a couple of weeks before it happened. I wasn’t eating, and I dropped down to 101lbs…. and for a 5’5 woman completely unhealthy. I wasn’t doing anything around the house, let alone caring for myself or my kid.

“So yes, [Jocelyn] was taken away. I was put into counseling and got my rights completely reinstated within 2 months of hard work,” she continued.

“Then, when myself and Josh split up, Josh and his family came and TOOK my kids, there are police records proving I called them. But nothing could be done. Josh and his family have the kids, that is right, but it’s not for any reason other than I was not in a good place to have them and they deserved the world and that’s what I couldn’t give them. At the time being I didn’t even have a place of my own.”

“I have turned my life a complete 180 around because my kids deserve more. I haven’t even so much as been in trouble with the law since then,” Ebony said. “I’m grown now, I’m no longer that person you guys think you know.”
