Oh boy Splat3 being fun I hope this doesn't come off like a rant I'm just being thorough bc that community question post I'm so sorry if this is A Lot

Splatoon 3 veers between 'insanely, super fun' and 'not even remotely' on a near daily basis.

For what feels like the first time in the series' history the matchmaking and connection issues have synchronized to both be so bad that it feels like you barely get to play, and if you do play then you'll rarely get a fair fight and either play against a comp thats not fair for one side (IE triple e-liter and an inkbrush in splatzones) or against opponents with skill level that's unreasonably higher or lower than your team's.

Even with a wired connection I rarely last more than 3-4 matches at best before losing connection in the lobby and having to find new teams, and its not rare to have to go through the queue multiple times because of disconnects while waiting. This has never happened in 1 or 2 to me, back then I'd get maybe one or two a month. Now I get dozens in a week, and nearly everyone I play with does too.

Winning isn't everything but I've had remarkably few matches that felt... like actual matches. Most of my wins have been crushing curbstomps of people that felt like they just got the game or never had a chance because it was a quartet of chargers or whatever.

The same happens for my losses w/ them usually feeling like I went against a team of pro tournament players or being put with 1-3 other splatlings or chargers whenever I play a non-shooter, to the point I've nearly given up on playing my mains that I enjoy and just picked up TTek because I would constantly be curbstomped bc of tri-splatling + 1 squiffer comps and stuff like that outside of X Battle if I don't play a jack of all trades shooter (which, annoyingly, has a system to avoid exactly this problem that works perfectly but was never added to the normal modes)

Between all that and a multitude of minor things (Hero mode being a drop in quality from Splat2's, Splatfests being a noticeable downgrade from Splat2's, Big Run... feeling awkward the way it was handled, a number of balancing issues from launch like crab dominance and tentamissile spam, etc) the game feels more frustrating than ever before in the series when it goes badly despite it feeling better than ever when it goes well thanks to nearly every other facet of actually playing the game being massively improved

I have tons of fun when it feels like it works, but I've honestly just drifted to playing Salmon Run near exclusively because Salmon Run is consistently enjoyable w/o most of the above issues and usually the worst that happens is Nintendo going on a streak of really not fun comps to use (or it being Spawning Grounds, which isn't balanced for Splat3's new aggressive salmonids at all)

Totally fine to be thorough! I've been reading everyone's responses and really learning a lot about what people want out of this game

I'm glad you mentioned the 'Not fun to win' aspect of matchmaking, because I don't see it mentioned a lot: It's not always losing that's the problem, because it's equally not as satisfying to end up stomping new players because you and your X friends run out to try new weapons and still have built-skills over the years...We want people around our level to practice against!

I'm genuinely surprised to hear someone say Hero Mode was a downgrade; there's been so much praises sung (and I genuinely had a good time myself). However, still a valid opinion!

It absolutely is fun when things go right! The connection works, the matchmaking actually balances (rarely but it does for me), and even some losses feel fine because it felt like a fair match that we just came up short

I still say hold out a while longer for all the new goodies we should get! Hopefully things will improve with time, but I can see everyone's frustration as things stand right now

The way some of the men on here talk about women is absolutely appalling. Really??? You think that's how God wants you to talk about your sisters in Christ? By calling them whores and acting like all women are scum whenever you see one woman acting badly? Gosh. If you won't stand for it when women talk about men that way then you sure shouldn't talk about women with your buddies that way.

I like to think that whenever Gen is well and truly stressed and in need of a break he "kidnaps" Irene and "leaves on an expedition to save her" and so someone (usually Costis) has to go after them and finds them on like, a Sounisian beach or something laying on monogrammed his and hers beach towels and begs them to come home.

Sketch dump! Vol. 3 August 2022

Literally dumping all the presentable works here as promised, whether I’m proud of them or not!

The first image was inspired by a color palette of a random YT playlist thumbnail! I really loved it and wanted to turn it into a cosy travel & rain scene with colorful city lights smeared like dripping wet watercolors. The second one is a KH3 reference! Do you recognise this scene? I don't know how he would possibly end up there in the first place, but he sure is determined to find his dear brother by breaking through the edge of the world!

How to make Ingo smile, step 1: Make him spell "Emmet"! And a goofy cartoon collision moment ahah!

They are very satisfied after a challenging match, win or lose, and they want you to come back for another ride! I love the twins as they appear in Pokémas the most and try to capture the personalities their English VAs give in my art. They are adorable, excitable, cool and very much admirable!

Emmet always wants to look cool, and Ingo surely gives the most heartfelt handshakes! This piece was to celebrate 1K followers on Twitter! The first three months were wild as so many people found my works!! I fondly reminisce that time, not only I was doing well with my first fanart account, I also felt very happy in general! I was so in the zone with art, being super creative free of worries. It's awesome to see most of the people who commented this back then are still posting/in contact with me!! Thank you so much for sticking with me and my little shenanigans!

Early Breakmas AU sketch (Team Break Submas); going full speed after trainers to collect their pokémon... What would you do if these two giant traffic cones approached you at high velocities?

Excadrill & Archeops, the soft & fluffy guys! Some of my first sketches of the submas mons. Excadrill has become my no. 1 submas mon, I adore that tough little missile knight! Archeops is definitely one of the most appealing ones! I love how he kinda has 4 wings he glides with. However I cannot unsee the snake in a parrot suit ahahah, pardon me! Also I pity the poor guy's in-battle idle animation where he has to flap SO HARD just to stay afloat!

Also Durant & Galvantula! I never was a fan of Durant but I've found ways to have fun drawing this little mischievous creature. They're after your ankles nyehehehe~ Galvantula also wasn't appealing to me until submas fever hit but now I think it's a pretty cute beast! I really like how I drew that fur, which is funny because it was that bristly blue fur that didn't strike my fancy back then!

Still enjoying this sketch! Took me some time to read the lines though ahah, the sketch so loose. He's leading a complete opposite life now...

Surprise!!! I held an art raffle on my Twitter account once but I never finished the piece for no good explanation other than getting stuck with the depot agent designs. I wanted to finish this so badly but just couldn't get over that mental block. It still bothers me I couldn't do it!

Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 - Okita Chapter 5 English translation

This translation is of the 5th Okita chapter 《记忆ノ五》  from Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 as viewed through the extras menu... translated it because well... just look at the CG lol. 

unfortunately, unlike yuugiroku 3, which i have CN tl for pretty much the entirety of the game, what tl i have for the main yuugiroku 2 story content is all over the place (missing chapters for hijikata [1, 2, 4, 8, 10], souji [4, 6-9], saito [6, 7, 9, and 10... i think? can’t be certain since the translations I found for his route were the only ones not divided by chapter], harada [1-4, 7, 9, 10] and kazama [4, 7, 8, 10, and possibly part of 9]. also, i never found anything for heisuke, yamazaki, sanan or shinpachi as copy-able text, so I just ended up translating whatever I felt like doing... which is what happens when my only goal is to simply fill up as much of my queue as possible. 

also, sorry but what translations i’ll be posting for yuugiroku 2 won’t really be in order since i schedule my posts in the order i translate... and i didn’t exactly go from from one chapter to the next.

Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 Okita Chapter 5

After receiving the mysterious vial from Sannan-san that was to be brought to Okita-san, I immediately went over to Okita-san's room to give it to him.

Yukimura: Okita-san, are you there?

Souji: I'm here.

Yukimura:......May I come in?

Souji:  Go ahead?

Yukimura:......Excuse me/Pardon me.

His voice sounded somewhat dispirited, and as I went/entered into his room with these doubts......

The first thing I noticed was the bundled futon/bundle of blankets [sphere of blankets is the tl and i can't think of how else to reword that right now].

Yukimura: Okita-san? Were you sleeping?

Souji: Yeah. I was hiding under the blankets and crying since I couldn't do what i want [or something like that?].

Yukimura:…………

Did Okita-san want to go to the festival that badly [what i have translates more to "that much"]......?

Chizuru: Um/Well, Sannan-san had something for me to give to Okita-san/gave me something to give to Okita-san——

Souji: Sannan-san did?

Jumping out from beneath the futon/blankets, Okita-san sat up.

Yukimura: Yes. I was asked to give this to you.

Souji: ?

Once he saw the mysterious vial I handed to him, he tilted his head.

After/Once he read the attached letter, he immediately understood something. 

Okita-san spoke with a bitter/forced smile.

Souji: Sannan-san is quite interesting——

Yukimura: Interesting?

Souji:......No, rather it's amazing how ruthless/callous/cold-hearted his way of thinking can be.

Yukimura:…………

Seeing how Okita-san was still smiling, my suspicions/doubts grew.

Yukimura:......Is it something bad?

Souji: It's nothing like that. Rather, it'd be better to say that this is Sannan-san's kindness.

Yukimura:.......But, that ruthlessness referred to/meant......

Souji: Hey, Chizuru-chan.

Yukimura; Y-Yes.

Souji: Is it considered a kindness if you do something that simultaneously has the potential to hurt someone else...?

Yukimura:…………

Okita-san spoke with a very serious expression......

I wonder/ed why?

Now, my heart felt full of/My heart now felt full of uneasiness/unease/worry......

Souji: Anyway, can you wait a bit for me? There's something I have to do.

Yukimura: A-Ah/Ah, uh, Okita-san......!?

Ignoring how I called after him, Okita-san left the room.

Where was he going......?

[after a while....]

Souji: I'm back, Chizuru-chan.

Yukimura:......Welcome back, Okita-san.

Souji: Then/Well, it's about time to go to the festival.

Yukimura: Eh!?

As soon as Okita-san came back, he said that/those words [reword again later?]. 

Yukimura: But, Okita-san still hasn't been given permission to go out/leave......?

Souji: It’s fine, there's nothing to worry about. We're wasting time, so shouldn't we go now? [reword again later? gave up for now]

Yukimura:???

Okita-san left the room with me while I was feeling/still feeling/ still confused/bewildered/dazed ——.

Yukimura:…………

At that moment, I couldn't see Yamazaki-san anywhere/Yamazaki-san couldn't be seen anywhere /.  

As he watched me warily look around, Okita-san laughed.

Souji: You're going to trip if you wander around so much......  Look.

Yukimura: Eh————

Souji: Come here, Chizuru-chan.

He said to come here/Come here, is what he said...

I repeatedly shifted my gaze between Okita-san, with his gentle smile, and the hand he extended towards me.

Yukimura: Um/This, perhaps......

Souji: It's dangerous, so let's hold hands. There will be plenty of people at the festival so you might get lost if you’re not careful, right?

If I didn’t want to get lost, we could just do that until we reached the shrine at the festival.....

While I was still contemplating this, Okita-san however just smiled, and did not retract his hand.

Yukimura:…………

My heart felt like it was beating faster as I pressed a hand against my chest, while my other hand reached out towards Okita-san——.

Just as I was about to put my hand in his.

Yukimura:!?

I suddenly noticed that there was something odd behind the smiling Okita-san.

( The one) Lying/collapsed over there, wasn't that......?

Run up to that person Look at Okita-san <-

Yukimura:…………

Somehow I should have expected this/I don't know what I expected/why I had any expectations, and fearfully looked at Okita-san/stared back at Okita-san in horror.

Yukimura: Um. Could it be that, that just now you......

Souji: How perceptive (of you?). You're very sharp, Chizuru-chan.

Although I was praised by Okita-san, I couldn't feel happy right now......

Souji: The vial from Sanan-san seemed to contain medicine that makes people have good dreams.

Yukimura;......In other words/That is to say, sleeping pills.

I couldn’t help but furrow my brow at Okita-san, who was still smiling.

Yukimura: Okita-san, did you use that sort/this kind of thing on Yamazaki-san......?

Souji: It's fine, there shouldn't be/it doesn't seem like there are any side effects.

Yukimura:…………

That wasn't the issue I was concerned about, and I fell silent as my worries lingered.

Then/After, Okita-san bitterly smiled as he grabbed/caught my hand, which I hadn't extended towards him.

Souji: While/Although I don't intend to ask...... that medicine, perhaps Sannan-san is also taking/using it.

Souji: I think life is inconvenient now if you can’t sleep. 

Although I did think that Sannan-san was a very gentle and kind person when I first met him.

Recently, I feel that he has been slowly descending into madness/slowly losing his sense of reason......

Souji: What's wrong, Chizuru-chan. You look upset. The festival's today, so you should be happy/more spirited/cheer up.

I felt speechless while Okita-san smiled as he feigned ignorance/As Okita-san smiled and feigned ignorance, I felt speechless (reword?).  

Although I was worried about Yamazaki-san, who was lying there on the ground, I was pulled away by Okita-san.

I'm sorry, Yamazaki-san......

Afterwards——

Yamazaki:......Ugh......

After Chizuru and Okita left headquarters, Yamazaki woke up shortly after.

Yamazaki was staggering as he sat up, and held his head as he spoke regretfully.

Yamazaki: To be caught off guard/I wasn’t careful......but I didn’t expect for this type of forceful method to be used......!

alas poor yamazaki. tis this kinda of treatment that makes me wanna translate a certain drama... but since it’s +20 min, that unfortunately won’t be a priority in the foreseeable future..

77 ... and half of them are old archives, so honestly my dash experience is so refined. Sweet bliss. Any friends I don’t follow, I prefer to check manually! My dash is just super geared towards visual content / NCT updates rather than writing these days.

Oh definitely, usually during comebacks at some point I have a mental breakdown over how badly I wanna kiss someone all over HAHAHA. I know From Home was a particularly rough time for me in that regard sjhfgasd

All the time, but honestly, I’m never really on it, it’s just something I do with my hands while I’m multitasking while chatting with people on discord, giffing, cooking, etc.! Just pick up where I left off, scroll a little, laugh at something, realize I’m burning my stir fry, set it down, repeat.

I love being tagged so that I can read what my friends are up to! These days it takes me forever to do them, though ^^’

Saw these questions by Teauke on my dash, and y’all know I love talking/ranting about The Sims; let’s go! ^0^

1. how big is your mods folder?

That’s my mods folder with only mods/hacks/overrides; no CAS or build/buy CC installed. It’s a miracle that nothing conflicts, at least not as far as I can tell.

2. how would you describe your style? A sporadic mix of tv/gaming fandom-inspired conversions and recreations, of mostly fanciful and/or cultural themes & genres.

3. What is your favorite challenge? I’m a builder at heart, so I love recreating lots and interiors. Challenges where we find IRL rooms/scenes and remake them in TS3 are always the most fun for me.

4. do you make cc? if so, what kind? I make fanciful & cultural custom content (occult, sci-fi, boho, etc). I make CAS CC sometimes, but I prefer making buy/build CC.

5. what type of cc do you hoard? Not everything, but a lot. As creators retire and links die, I’m even more paranoid than I already was that CC will no longer be available anywhere.

6. what default eyes and skin do you use? I don’t use default-replacement skintones, but I do use Buhudain’s You Are Real mod.

As for eye defaults, I absolutely love Moonskin’s Shiny Glass replacements.

7. how many urls have you had, and what are the meanings behind them? All of my simming URLs on MTS, TSR, the officials, and Tumblr are some variation of my first name, Murfee Lee. Because yes, I am that darn creative.

8. who is your favorite gameplay blog? 9. who is your favorite storytelling blog? Ugh, there are too many good ones out there.

10. who is your favorite cc creator? All of my favorite creators retired years ago: DyM/Hekate999 (fantasy build/buy), Parsimonious (everything), Luna (everything build/buy), Qingshuangtongzi (Asian everything), Amethyst (Asian CAS), Art-Sims (CAS everything), etc. I swear, the day Sandy/ATS3 (everything build/buy) retires is the day I’m having a panic attack.

11. how do you edit your photos? Badly. Tweak the brightness & contrast and call it a effing day.

12. what is the last screenshot you took? It’s a surprise.

13. what do you do when you are unmotivated? I am never “unmotivated,” so much as I am distracted. I think the reason I’ve simmed so long is strictly because I’m always inspired by fandoms. If I get distracted by a tv/game, it becomes my next muse (aka current obsession). It’s not that I get unmotivated to finish the old stuff I pretty much abandon, it’s just that there aren’t enough hours in the day for me to do everything I want. Sometimes I return to older saves/gameplay. Most times I don’t though--unless someone messages me wanting to see it again (and that’s effing rare). 

14. who is your current favorite sim? Sakura and Nasir are my alltime favorite sims. But I must admit that I patted myself on the back pretty dang hard when I created Tsukihime-Sama for my Moon Medicine gameplay. I love every sim I made for that gameplay (which I really need to finish one day, ugh), but my Lunar Moth Goddess? 👌

15. who is your current favorite sim that is not by you? Every sim that @obscurus-noctem​​ is out here sacrificing goats in order to create. It’s just disgusting how pretty everything on their blog is. Those mersims? Those graphics? That editing? Makes me effing sick. 

16. recreate someone else’s sim in your style. I think I saw a challenge like this a few months/years ago, but never did it. But I DID do the Picrew version.

17. do you talk about sims with people in real life? One of my professors plays SimCity. Naturally, we bonded over how wack EA is. ^_^

18. how many of the packs do you own? All of them, except the Stuff Packs. Barring Fast Lane and Movie Stuff, none of the other SPs are worth the price; it’s just build/buy/CAS CC any MaxisMatch creator.could make for free. I’ve always felt that way about SPs, which is why I never bothered with them in TS1 or TS2 either. I will say though, that TS4′s SPs are something else entirely, which brings me to #24 (see below).

RANT ALERT!

If anything, TS4′s SPs are doing way too much (adding new gameplay, careers, lifestates/NPCs, lots, etc!? WUT.) Or rather, its EPs aren’t doing nearly enough. I love that TS4′s SPs add meaningful content. But if they’re raising their bar, that means the Expansion Packs need to rise by the same degree, to stay relevant, if anything.

But EA, in their infinite ineptitude, seems to be scaling back with their EPs! Cutting what should be 1 cohesive EP into multiple SPs & GPs piecemeals the content and cheats people out of money, by having us pay more for less! The TS4 SPs do a lot, yes, but now let’s talk about the Paranormal SP for example:

Paranormal Stuff does perhaps the most any SP in The Sims 1/2/3/4 ever has, and has by far the most worth for its money...but at a dire cost:

- the career only has 5 levels instead of 10 (thus being nowhere as deep as TS3′s combination of the Ambition EP’s Ghost Hunter and the Store’s crystal ball--which links with the Supernatural EP’s Spellcasting skill)

the crystal ball is a 1-trick pony

unlocking Bonehilda is tied to grinding skill/career levels, only for her to do EFF ALL once she finally arrives (and her face looks like melted cookie dough WTF)

most of the gameplay is tied to the pack’s new lot/venue

and the ghosts are still meh

So rather than TS4 having an actual Supernatural EP, instead it has the ok-but-disappointing Realm of Magic Game Pack (which I’ve already ranted about), the watered-down Paranormal Stuff Pack, and the INCREDIBLY OP Vampires Game Pack (which I’ve salivated over). That’s already $40--the cost of TS3′s Supernatural Expansion Pack, mind you--but with the glaringly absent inclusion of Fairies, Werewolves, AND Zombies. O_O WHAT THE HELL, EA. To get the full Supernatural experience in TS4 is gonna end up running people not $40, but perhaps DOUBLE, if werewolves & fairies get their own GPs (unless EA waters them down in SPs, which would still be anywhere from $50-60). EA is robbing people blind.

Leader was stunned when they woke up in the middle of the night to see Villain standing over them. “Shhh,” they whispered, putting a finger over their lips. Leader swallowed hard but nodded. They couldn’t help but notice the spike of anxiety in their chest at seeing them in the flesh. They were in trouble, they had to be in trouble, that was the only reason they’d be here. They were going to hurt them, they were going to be punished so badly for being away, for letting the team get in their head-

Villain reached forward and stroked Leader’s hair, making them jump. “Don’t be afraid,” Villain soothed. “Slow your breathing down. I’m taking you home.” Leader nodded, but much to their surprise… there was no relief at hearing those words. They weren’t sure if they wanted to leave here or not… No. They couldn’t fall for the team’s tricks.

Leader bit back a whimper as they forced themselves up out of bed, screwing up their face as they disturbed the wound by getting up a little too fast. Villain was surprisingly gentle and patient, helping them out of bed. “Lean on me, I doubt you’ll be able to walk back unassisted.” “T.thank you, master, for coming for me,” Leader managed as they hobbled down the hallway. “You didn’t think I was about to let you go back to such untrustworthy and dangerous heathens, did you?” “I… No, master.”

Villain smiled as they guided Leader further and further away from their freedom.

“[Leader]!” Vigilante suddenly called out. “[Villain], get away from them! You’re not taking them back there!” Vigilante had their knives out, ready to fight. Villain smirked and smoothly produced a gun, and took aim at Vigilante. Leader felt something in their chest tighten. “No, please, [Vigilante], just go!” Leader cried. “Let me go back with them.” Vigilante clenched their jaw. “I don’t care if you hate me or mistrust me, [Leader], I can’t let you go back with them. You want me to prove I care? Well, this is it... Take me instead.”

“Why would I want filth like you?” Villain answered. “[Leader] is clearly worth more than you. They are mine- and I care about them very much.” “You don’t give a damn! This was nothing but revenge because [Leader] rescued [Hero]. [Leader], please understand that. Remember that! We care about you so much! We just couldn’t find you! [Leader], we couldn't find you!”

Leader was speechless, but there was a pang of sorrow in their heart seeing a tear slip down Vigilante’s face. “[Leader], even if you walked away from this team forever and never spoke to us again, please. Do not go back to them.”

“[Leader]?” a quiet voice murmured from behind Vigilante. It was Hero.

Villain gripped the gun tighter. “It’s time to go, [Leader].” Leader sniffled, seeing the pain in Vigilante's expression. Leader hoped their expression showed how sorry they were. They forced themselves to look away. “Yes… master.”

Leader started to limp away with Villain holding on tight to their arm.

Vigilante snarled and ran down the hall, knives ready. Villain turned and fired a shot, alerting the whole building that something was wrong. The bullet hit Vigilante in the right shoulder but they cried out and kept going, raising the knife to strike.

In a quick movement, Villain dragged Leader in front of them and fired another shot. It whizzed past Leader’s ear, missed Vigilante, but hit it’s mark. Hero cried out and dropped to the floor. Vigilante froze before they could hit Leader with the knife.

“[Hero]!” Vigilante and Leader cried out at once. “I’d go help them if I were you,” Villain said. “Don’t want them to bleed out now, do we?” Vigilante was torn, but when Villain put the gun to Leader’s throat, drawing a yelp from them, it became clear they had no choice.

“Go,” Leader pleaded. In that moment they didn’t care if Villain had a gun at their throat. They added. “Just forget about me.” Vigilante looked back at Hero’s limp body and started to back away. “I’m so sorry, [Leader], I’m sorry for everything.”

Villain dragged Leader away before anyone else could try to stop them.

“Clearly you’ve been compromised,” Villain said as they shoved them into the back of the van. “But I’m sure we can… entice that back out of you. Who knows what lies they’ve filled your head with.”

Leader sat alone in the back of the van, hugging their knees, hoping the pain in their leg would die down. They wept as quietly as they could in the back, so afraid for Hero. Seeing how Villain considered them property, how Vigilante had only cared for their welfare… If I untied you right now, would you go straight back to them? Really, without a second thought? “I’d stay,” Leader whispered. “[Vigilante], I’d stay with you all. I’m so sorry.”

1. Why did you choose your URL? It comes from a YA book that was one of my favorites as a kid, although why I latched onto that particular book for a url, I couldn't tell you. After a few years, though, artichoke has now become part of my identity and I do like to think I have many layers, so ... there we are.

2. Any side blogs? @charlotte--lennox is my personal journal side blog that I constantly forget that I have, lmao. I haven't updated it in months, but for better or for worse, it's still there.

3. How long have you been on Tumblr? On fandom tumblr, since 2018. On tumblr in general, I had a few blogs sporadically since like 2008.

4. Do you have a queue tag? Theoretically I do, but I don't have a queue lmao. I keep feeling like I should fill the queue up and put it to use again, but, idk something about it makes me feel a bit merpy.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? To participate in the Loki fandom and also to promote my fanfic.

6. Why did you choose you icon/pfp? Bc I love Chloe Bennett and low-key want to be her, and the ace flag background bc I enjoy being "out and proud" as ace on tumblr, since I'm not out anywhere else, heh.

7. Why did you choose your header? Because I made it when I was playing around in Photopea and it turned out kinda good, so I figured I'd use it. I only changed it recently; it was the cover art for Stars Hide Your Fires for months and months, which I loved bc Thor and Loki are so pretty and SHYF is, I think, ultimately my favorite fic I've written.

8. What’s your post with the most notes? My post+ post, lmao. I haven't looked at it in awhile but the last time I checked it was at like 77k. Relatedly, it's really funny how we all flipped out over post+ and then never heard anything else about it again; not sure if tumblr decided to kill it or not, but I do like to think that, if they did, my post (and all the lawyers who commented that I was right) had something to do with it. The headache of my notifications being held hostage for a few weeks should have accomplished something.

9. How many mutuals do you have? I have no idea - maybe like 12? Nah I'm sure it's more than that but I honestly don't know and wouldn't even know how to check.

I am up to 1730, which I feel really badly about, bc I did my follower celebration call for prompts at 1605 or something and since then I have gained followers and only filled three prompts so, yknow, not a great look. Well yeah, I know I've gotten into it with people over wanky things; I do try not to be antagonistic if I can help it but, that said, sometimes it can't be helped. 15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog” posts? Generally the fastest way to get me to not reblog something is to include some "reblog this right now, I don't care if it fits your blog or not, this is important" note, like, well I probably would have reblogged it but now I'm not going to.

16. Do you like tag games? I do, generally, but sometimes I'm tagged in things I don't really care to participate in (but I appreciate the tag!) and other times I'm tagged and I just completely forget to respond to it, so it probably seems like I don't like them, womp womp.

But then within fandom, there are some blogs that are more well-known than others, and I think at least a few of my mutuals are fairly well-known in the Loki fandom. Ymmv, though.

I will answer questions about @dreamautonomy (my main that’s not officially a main) and @defectiveconantoy (my more popular Tumblr).

1. Why did you choose your url? I came up with the name Dream Autonomy waaaaay back in 2008. At the time, I was inspired by Kazimierz Dąbrowski's theory of positive disintegration (TPD), where he explained that one must go through anxiety and psychological tension to achieve autonomy and true individuality. In my teens, I dreamt of independence and autonomy, to live on my own terms and break away from society’s rat race. I still do to this day.

For my DCMK stuff, I’ve considered the name Conanology, but someone on Twitter took it. I wanted something witty. Then, I stumbled upon that Reddit post with the counterfeit Conan and Ayumi action figures. They looked so ridiculous and badly made it’s almost a joke. The thread’s first comment: perfect as a funny username. Unfortunately, defectiveconan was already taken here, so I settled with defectiveconantoy (also nicknamed by me as DFCT - DeFective Conan Toy) instead.

2. Any side blogs? @relaxwithanime because there’s a lot of relaxing anime, and I want to showcase relaxing anime scenes. @sillydogpictures, which has no posts. I wanted to show pictures of dogs with intentionally or unintentionally silly faces. 🐶

3. How long have you been on tumblr? It’s complicated! I began lurking back in 2010 or 2011 but didn’t create an account until 2014 with the original dreamautonomy, now the defunct @olddreamautonomy. I never used it until mid or late 2020.

I made @defectiveconantoy back in October 2020 because I considered participating in the DCMK Secret Santa event. I eventually decided not to, as I was busy with school and coping with the pandemic. I didn’t need more deadlines then.

4. Do you have a queue tag? Nope! I should make one once I learn how.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? I planned to use @dreamautonomy as a creative blog for posting photography, graphic design, food and travel stuff, motivational stuff, and more. Never happened!

DFCT was made for Detective Conan and Magic Kaito fandom stuff, nothing else.

Stupid me made @defectiveconantoy a completely separate account, even after realizing minutes later that I could have made it a side blog. Oh well! I mostly use Tumblr for fandom stuff nowadays, so I deleted my old Dream account and made a new account as a side blog under @defectiveconantoy. Now, I no longer have to use different apps and browsers for both blogs. Life is good!

6 . Why did you choose your icon/pfp? For Dream, I chose Retsuko from Aggretsuko. That scene wonderfully represents the agony of one’s twenties: working miserable jobs, not being taken seriously, and wishing life was more fulfilling than the average adult life. There she is being “one of us” on a Sunday by lying in bed and scratching her butt. 😂

And for DFCT, how could I not post action Conan from The Fist of Blue Sapphire with the counterfeit action figure’s head replacing the original Conan’s head? 🤣

7. Why did you choose your header? For Dream, because Retsuko’s bouncing her little tail off. For DFCT, because Ran is precious in that scene, all soft and shy.

15. how do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts? it's usually the quickest way to get me to scroll right past something; I don't appreciate the emotional blackmail. tumblr is supposed to be my fun downtime; if I reblog something that[s more serious and real worldy, it's because I have the spoons to handle it that day, or really want to because I want to share it.

16. do you like tag games? I do. but I don't usually get to them right away because of not being able to copy more than a paragraph at a time on tumblr mobile on my phone, so I have to remember to get on my chromebook to do them, lol

17. do you like asks games? also yes, and same deal with it taking time for me to get to, sometimes. If I haven't answered something like this, assume I didn't see it or just haven't gotten on tumblr on my chromebook yet

1. Why did you choose your url? Because I wanted a Gloryhammer url badly. My urls are usually always song titles

2. Any side blogs? Just my first url saved and an old Artblog. I can't even draw.

But yeah I forgot access to those blogs.

4. Do you have a queue tag? Nope. Haven't had the need for one

5. Why did you start this blog in the first place? I heard from someone back on livejournal that tumblr was a good place for posting gifs and gif sets. So I came here

6. Why did you choose your icon? It's a photo of me. I don't exactly know why I one day decided to use my face as an icon. Maybe to not seem like just a blog for one thing? I assume that whenever someone has a certain person/character on their icon, that they are a blog for that thing only or something.

I actually think it was a mistake to choose your own face as icon, because I think it attracts more bots and weirdos than actual people who like your content.

7. Why did you choose your header? I try to make it accurate to whatever I'm currently really into just like it was with my icon. But this also constantly changes. It's a Screenshot of a Music Video at the moment, and I just made it pink because that is my color.

I once tried to make a header with the most things I like/post but it looked too messy so I gave up.

8. How many mutuals do you have? Over 90 ( yes I tried to count but lost track)

9. How many followers do you have? 764 and this number constantly changes because I keep blocking the obvious bots and then sometimes it seems as if some people unfollow as well
