This vet has been violently abusing animals for almost 50 years, and no one is stopping him

Dr. Daniel Koller has spent his nearly five-decade career as a vet not helping animals, but violently abusing them.

Countless complaints have been filed against the Oregon-based "care" provider, and the details are bone-chilling. Koller has hung multiple dogs from their collars until they lost consciousness. He beat a sweet German Shepherd so badly that the poor thing lost multiple teeth — that pup would later be found by Koller's employees dead and carelessly stuffed into a freezer. He slammed a cat to the ground, squeezing its head between his shoe and the floor as he administered a sedative through a reused, dirty needle — a practice that one former employee said was common to reduce costs. It is hard to quantify the damage that Koller has inflicted on people and their furry family members over 50 years. But surely if these stories are public knowledge, someone must have done something to stop him.

Unfortunately, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Over the course of his time as a vet, Dr. Koller has had his license suspended or revoked at least four times. But he has always gotten it back. In fact, he is currently practicing as a vet, since the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board gave him his license back in 2015. This veterinary board, like so many across the United States, rarely brings disciplinary action against vets who perpetrate abuse and violence against the animals they took an oath to care for. How can we trust the people who are supposed to be saving our pets lives if the very institutions created to hold them accountable let them get away with vicious abuse? Sign the petition today if you think every state's veterinary board needs to ensure real action be taken against vets who abuse pets, starting with permanently revoking the licenses of convicted abusers!

Himeko the elephant was brought to the Himeji Zoo in 1994. She has been imprisoned there since, totally alone: for 24 long, lonely years. During "business hours" at this noisy zoo and amusement park, Himeko faces away from visitors and copes with her stress by bobbing and swaying non stop. She also bangs her tail repeatedly against the steel door of her pen. The rest of the time she is trapped in a tiny, dark concrete indoor cell—with no food or water readily available—for 18 hours a day. Each day, Himeko is forced to "perform" for the crowds. Trainers enter her outdoor enclosure and intimidate her with painful, sharp bullhooks. They force Himeko to do tricks, like walk around in a circle and kneel down to have her head brushed with a broom. Veteran elephant biologist Dr. Keith Lindsay visited Himeko at the zoo in 2017. After seeing her living conditions firsthand, he labelled it "substandard and unacceptable." This is an undeserved punishment for an animal that is naturally highly intelligent and social. Elephants live up to 60-70 years, and are exceptionally social animals who have families and friends. They grieve their dead. But Himeko still has a chance at a better life: experiencing soft soil on her feet, companionship and enrichment to occupy her very intelligent mind. The Elephants in Japan campaign is working with top elephant experts and organizations to help Himeko and other solitary elephants in Japan. BUT we need your help! The tight-fitting metal cage suddenly surrounds you. Your heart starts to race as your mind turns fuzzy and blank, realizing there is no escape. This feeling is panicked desperation. And it's what piggie mamas-to-be experience every day in factory farms as they're stuffed into gestation crates, where they're locked for months on end. Gestation crates are extremely small cages used to confine pregnant pigs until they give birth to a new litter of baby piglets. At that point, the babies are torn away — and then the mama is forcibly re-impregnated and thrust back back into her cruel, inescapable coffin of a cage. The average sow is forced to breed offspring for slaughter five to seven different times before the industry is done with her.

While locked in these enclosures, the mamas watch helplessly as their excrement piles up around their legs, unable to move or turn around. They can barely even stand up or sit down. Of all the pigs raised for pork in the U.S., 95 percent come from factory farms, where these types of torturous Medieval enclosures aren't the exception — they're the rule. Numerous companies, including Smithfield Foods, have tried to fool consumers by pledging to phase out the use of gestation crates. But now, over five years after their initial promise, nothing has changed. Smithfield Foods, Inc. is the largest producer of pork both in the U.S. and also in the world, murdering nearly 30 million pigs every single year. It's time for them to realize we're watching, and that we demand they follow through on their promises. Sign the petition telling giant factory farming corporation Smithfield Foods, Inc. to finally end its use of all gestation crates! Sign the petition.

Ministry of Agriculture. Instead of protecting dogs from another massive slaughter, like the one that happened in Whistler in 2010, the new guidelines instruct owners how to “humanely shoot” unwanted animals. The Sled Dog Code of Practice was created in response to the April 10, 2010 brutal killing of 52 sled dogs owned by Outdoor Adventures in Whistler BC. The operator claimed he was forced to massacre the dogs because his sled dog business was going bankrupt due to the economy and lack of tourists. The new guidelines were intended to provide standards and care regulations for sled dogs, but a section titled Guidelines for shooting domestic animal species, leaves room for healthy dogs to be shot. Diagrams in the section show how to properly position dogs for a fatal shot and written instructions are included for further guidance. “Once the dog has relaxed, it can be taken outside, the leash secured to a solid object, and the dog offered some food. The firearm is then aimed at a point midway between the level of the eyes and the base of the ears, but slightly off to one side so as to miss the bony ridge that runs down the middle of the skull,” the guidelines state. US Government to implement Human Rights into their Ruling

Hello Mr. President,

Human Rights has been neglected for too long now, and it is time to make a change so America will be a better place to live in for its people.

I want to see Human Rights implemented into the US Government’s rulings by initializing an amendment that is based on this. The US Constitution is the voice microphone of the people in America, and it is with this process that Human Rights is being demanded as a serious part of the US Government’s rulings.

“Human rights are moral principles or norms that describe certain standards of human behavior, and are regularly protected as legal rights in municipal and international law.”

My goal is to make sure human rights are implemented into the US Government so there will be less corruption. We the People was written for a reason but you need to use your voices by signing this petition please!
