My Twin: NO, NOT THE MAN IN THE YELLOW HAT.

Me: Also, his name is Theodore "Ted" Shackleford.

My Twin: WH, WHERE DID YOU GET THIS INFORMATION.

What's Stopping The Man with the Yellow Hat?

you read the title. what's stopping theodore "ted" shackleford from just throwing george on the street, and then speeding away?

george is an annoyance to him, right?

throughout his life, ted has always been portrayed as someone extremely stressed and worryful. it is also quite evident when stuff gets invovled in his work.

lets talk about his yellow hat now. he has had it since he was a child and it means so much to him. he gets really upset when anything bad happens to it. this could indicate that it is hard for ted to part with certain stuff.

there is no reason to not think the man in the yellow hat suffers from depression.

while george might be quite an annoyance to him, he's one of the first real friends he has ever had. being one of the first real friends he has ever had has made it hard for ted to part with george.

george and ted share a familial bond, with george being his son. the conflicts george has caused is quite similar to the ones a young child might cause.

and ted, being his father, will love him unconditionally either way.

TL;DR: Ted would be a total wreck if he just shoved his best friend AND son out of his life like that.
