“i trust the care that you give him, i’m just always worried that whatever's wrong with him is going to end up being much more serious than it looks... it’s a bit irrational, i know.” a sore paw doesn't suddenly mean he'll be needing emergency surgery, yet for whatever reason, the fear still fills them regardless. their only hope is that with a little more time, they'll eventually learn not to panic at the first sign of any pain from the dog. “ah, that’s what i thought. can’t say i blame you, though. if i kept seeing adorable animals at work, i’d probably dote on them too.” that’s actually part of the reason why she’d gotten arlo in the first place. working from home has its benefits, but after a while, being encased in the same four walls with only the television and a blank word document for company could make anyone weary. emily had needed a companion; someone to brighten up the space and to force her out of the apartment instead of staying locked up in her office until she’d hit her desired word count for the day. “i can see that... don’t get me wrong, it’s very cute.” clearly, they’re not immune to people who are good with dogs, but who can really blame them? they’ve always believed that anybody who doesn’t like animals can’t be trusted and it hasn’t steered them wrong so far. “do you have pets of your own, or is taking care of everyone else’s enough for you?” it seems like it could be a lot for one person; to be surrounded by pets needing attention all day and being unable to get a break, even in their own home. but if she had to take a guess based on the sight in front of her alone, theo could just be the exception to that theory. though a quiet sigh of defeat passes emily's lips at the mention of treats, one look at arlo's face is all it takes to make her cave. come on, how can she deny such a sweet face? “if you keep this up, i'm afraid he won’t want to come home with me.”

I feel like we’re always talking about missed opportunities and ‘hidden knowledge’ (i.e. Dylan’s necklace extended discourse). So, in a similar vein: what do you think the counselor’s middle names would be?

I wanted to ask everyone this and kept forgetting! You’re going to wish you asked someone more creative than me because I have an incredibly lazy answer. A few months back I read a fic that gave Dylan a middle name I violently hated (bad personal associations) and I was like, okay, this sucks, but what would I give him instead? And then I thought, dumb idea, what if they all had their actors’ names as middle names? I figured no way, they couldn’t actually sound good, right? Too easy. But… it actually kinda works? For most of them anyway, I did make some tweaks.

I actually think Dylan’s middle name is Dylan. I think his first name is Miles and he goes by his middle. Flows better that way to my ear.

Ariel is too similar to Abigail, it’s too singsongy, but Winter is actually Ariel’s middle name. Abigail Winter Blyg didn’t really speak to me either but what if we shifted the season and gave her Autumn instead?

Kaitlyn Brenda Ka. I just think giving her the middle name Brenda is very funny. It’s so incredibly 80’s. I’m obsessed with Kaitlyn naming her Barbadian D&D character Brenda in that one 80’s AU fic.

Emma Halston Mountebank. Yes. Sounds expensive. I don’t know what Emma’s social background is supposed to be but that name sounds like a horse girl to me. I feel like she wants to project wealth and success even if she has more humble roots than it seems.

Alastor walked in, his smile almost faltering as he spoke to a nurse.

"Where is my son?!" He asked in a rushed voice.

The doctor reluctantly walked through the doors, alastor walked toward him.

"Ah the radio demon! He was brought in half an hour ago he lost a lot of blood and since hes hellborn-"

"Is he alive?" Alastor asked, alarmed, the static I his voice growing..

"Yes but sir you must understand he wont-"

"Can I see him?" Alastor interrupted.

I'm doing everything I can but the wound was already infected when he arrived

"The wound was infected. He won't make it through the night," the doctor explained before leading alastor to the room.

"Theodore!" Alastor exclaimed as he ran to his son's side.

"NO no no no no!!" She cried as she looked down at his wound.

"Is he breathing?! Is he going to survive this?!" Aponi asked, the fear in her eyes overbearing. "Who did this?!" She yelled before turning to Alastor. "DID YOU KNOW?!" She yelled, a mix of anger, fear and sadness in her features.

Theo took his mother's hands, drawing her attention to him so his parents wouldn't be fighting right now.

"Mama, I'm so sorry for forgetting what you taught me," he whispered as he held his mother's hands in his own, his grip getting Weaker as the minutes passed.

"Oh, my son," she whispered as she wiped the sweat and hair from his forehead.

"We danced," he stated, dazed, as if that was the only thing he remembered.

"Yes, sweet pea, I taught you to dance," Aponi smiled sadly as she looked into his eyes.

"You would put my feet on yours," he stated, remembering when he was a child no older than 9.

"You changed the steps every time," Paoni whispered as she kissed his forehead.

Theo chuckled before wincing, attempting to say something before Aponi shushed him.

"Shh, I know, I know," she whispered.

Time stopped.

Alastor frowned, tears pricking his eyes at his dead son on the bed.

"One two three?" Aponi whispered as she shook him gently before letting out a scream so powerful and full of sorrow, that even heaven would be able to hear it.

Alastor placed his hand over Aponi's, attempting to ease her sorrow and cries, only for her to pull her hand away sharply, continuing to cry over her baby.

And just like that....

She had lost two children.

Due to the curse Malleus cast that has enveloped all of Sage's Island, everyone is sleeping.

Yunru Zhao - Yunru is surrounded by friends. He has a place where he belongs. When it was revealed that it was possible to return to his home world, he chose to stay in Twisted Wonderland. The friends he came to treasure were here after all. In the ideal dream world, the overblots had never happened.

Theodore Little - Theodore is back home, but he is a student of NRC still. Rather than living a lazy life, he is going about helping his parents with things. He gets along better with his parents in the ideal dream world, and they are not constantly nagging him to do things. He is happy and does stuff because he wants to, not because he is told to do it.

KūnMíng Ruǎn - KūnMíng has a happy family life. His mother is alive. He lives with just his father, sister and mother. The four of them are happy together and do activities together. After becoming a student of NRC, KūnMíng is able to make his family proud.

Matthew Topps - Matthew knows his parents in the ideal dream world, and they are happily living together. He has all of his family with him. With them all together, he has less hesitation to go to school far away. Every day, he sends messages back home to let them know what life at NRC is like.

Jiǎn-Yǔ Song - Jiǎn-Yǔ is happy surrounded by friends and family. He never got an injury in the past when he had met Xuě Lóng for the first time, and they had become quick friends. Jiǎn-Yǔ also makes quick friends with Ziwei Lin and Jiawen Zhang. In this dream world, nothing has gone wrong.
