speaking of greece and also oc side projects, i was trying to do worldbuilding on the "godless" ocverse. still in the concept stage but heres what i got
what i've already established is that this is a fantasy world where all of greek mythology is real, but the gods have abandoned the earth for a long time. after almost 2000 years, we're in the equivalent of the 1800s/early 1900s. the general conditions (as well as designs) are based on real life greece during that era. the main difference is that its much more peaceful- part of the reason im setting this in an alternate world is because im not doing this to tackle ottoman occupation, the pontic genocide, or world wars 1 and 2. a lot of that stuff is heavier than what i wanna do.
but i am still trying to tackle one thing about greek culture, specifically in relation to the gods. the history of hellenism is still something very deeply ingrained into the country's culture, and yet... idk if you guys have noticed, but the country has been christianized (the fact that the gods absence lines up w the anno domini era is on purpose). my goal isnt to romanticize ancient greece by any means, there was a lot wrong with it and im not one of those "roman empire" guys lol. but what i wanna do is get into that weird "gap" in greece's modern identity vs its ancient one, via the feelings of the characters and being abandoned by the gods and the bygone age of heroes. (and im aware ofc that a big part of that IS the heavier side of the country's history, even if i wont directly be tacking the aforementioned real world events)
MOSTLY i want it to be a fun romp though, i wanna pay homage to the adventures of heroes like odysseus, jason and the argonauts, perseus, heracles, etc., who would all be REAL historical figures in-universe! (well, heracles is a demigod) most likely ones the protagonists would idolize in their own adventures. im referencing the cambelion monomyth/hero's journey as a format for that, but i don't intend to lean too heavily on it either.
all that being said, i made a map :)
Tumblr media
i chose the name "ilia" from the ancient greek name for troy- "ilion," which is also the namesake of homer's iliad.
the region is split up into different territories. all the territories still worship the gods equally, but they each have one main major sanctuary to focus on the olympians+hades (and i included both hestia and dyonisis, i think it would be funny if both region didnt consider the other one a true part of the lineup). the position of the symbols shows you where the major sanctuary is located.
again, all regions worship all the gods and have different temples throughout (smaller towns and villages may have their own temples dedicated to more specific deities) however, the major sanctuary in each area is what defines it because the hiereus or hiereia of these temples acts as a head of state (of course, a world where gods are real is a theocracy). the requirements for a hiereus/hiereia are to be gifted by the god of the temple, and be a dedicated scholar of their domain. theyre selected from a large group, through a democratic processes, usually leading for life.
i have names for each reason but theyre not set in stone so ill keep those on the back burner
i dont have a lot of specifics plot-wise figured out anyway, but wanted something to visualize the idea. itll put me on the path to figuring out exactly what that could entail! after all, even with the gods gone, plenty of supernatural things remain. enchanted/cursed relics, hallowed ruins, ancient monsters, the underworld, olympus, oracles, and, of course, the gifts!

to my TheoBros
hi friends. I don’t know if anyone will see this because it’s been so long, but if you do, I just wanted to tell you thanks. The Theocracy Project meant so much to me, and it was so much fun. I had never had an outlet like that nor had I ever gotten to work with other talented creatives like I did with everyone who pariticipated. So I just wanted to say thanks, and let you know I haven’t forgotten about this awesome little universe we created. Thanks for letting a dorky kid get immersed in the magnificent world everyone involved created, it meant the world to me and still does.

Sharing my writing #4
This one is about the project of mine I’m currently most passionate about (”Secrets of Lunyan”, a fairly standard fantasy trilogy with lots of angst and slightly cosmic horror implications that I look forward to actually write now that I have invented tons of characters. Incidentally, it’s where the OCs from my quiz come from).
I wanted to start with the geography. It’s pretty semplified for storytelling purposes, but so far we have:
-Othanar, in the west. A very vast territory, technologically quite arretrated (the main inspiration is medieval/Renaissance Europe), but with the largest number of trained wizards. The most powerful among these wizards form the ruling class. Othanar is a theocracy, since said wizards are also the priests of Falham, the main divinity of this universe, protector of humankind. Its main economical strenght, apart from trading, is its monopoly over magical education.
-Agzym, in the south. A very wide territory, but mostly barren. It’s not an unitary state like Othanar, but in city-states in the shape of towers moving through railways or crawlers or of airships. They have the lowest number of mages, trained or born, but they compensate by being the most technologically advanced area of the world (steampunk style). Every city-state forms a tribe, every one with its own sacred animal, but with very diverse cultures and costumes. Occasionally there are conflicts between cities, but it’s actually quite rare, and usually the relations are peaceful. The main danger are the wraiths that haunt the land, especially in the north, near Lunyan.
-Uaxhakil, in the south-west. Its original population was the most numerous Agzym tribe, that inhabitated the most fertile part of the territory and decided to convert to a sedentary lifestyle and form its own political entity. It’s a monarchy. One of its last bonds with Agzym is the worship of a sacred animal - in their case, a butterfly. Around nineteen years before the beginning of the story, the former king attempted to expand its territory by waging war to Agzym. The army managed to conquer several territories, but the tribes of Agzym united and ended up taking back their lands. The amount of deaths, including several slaughters of civilians, was extremely high on both sides and as a result, while peace was signed, the two lands still see each others as enemies. Uaxhakil was always a secluded country anyway, although it’s got a faithful trading partner in Othanar and before the war peaceful contact with Agzym was not uncommon. They underwent a technological revolution for a few decades before the war, starting to use firearms (mainly imitating Agzym’s technology, although the results are less efficient and the army still mostly uses bladed weapons as is the tradition) and small airships (originally created for exploration purpose, but converted to military purpose when the war started). Occasionally there are wraiths attacks, but less commonly than in Agzym. However, there are several trained mages. Some of them, as Falham priest, are the most powerful entity after the king (along with the army). Some others form élite battalions.
-Deorhnem: in the north. Its mainly inhabitated by two different people. One came from Agzym but moved north several thousands of years before. They are now very different than their southern ancestors, apart from keeping the tribal structure and the cult of their sacred animals. Every tribe has at least one wizard, be it trained or born with magic, that acts as the leader. The other people is native to the north and organized in republican fortress cities. Most of the population receives military training and those that form the army have the task of defending Deorhnem from the dragons and monsters that have been threatening it for millennia. There are very few wizards among them, but it’s not really a problem. Their technology is mostly on par with Othanar. They actually trade with Agzym and have tried using firearms, but it turns out they are mostly useless against the dragons, since they are mostly blind and hunt in packs and loud noises only make attacking difficult.
-Pawyr: in the east. Its inhabitants are not human but madil (children of humans and nymphs, or descendants of these children with enough nymph blood). As such, all of them are born with magic (except for first-generation madil, that have a 50% chance of being able to use magic, but can pass it down to their own children). Most of them don’t really have a wish to train in magic (although magic learnt by training is different than the one they are born with). Politically it’s formed by small independent monarchies. The main dangers are two demi-gods/demons, but I’m probably going to talk about them in another post.
-Lunyan, east of Othanar and the center of the whole story. Several thousand years before the story begins it was a sort of steampunk Atlantis (but on land), inhabitated by powerful trained wizards (every knowledge about how to learn magic comes from here), but it was mysteriously destroyed. However, its magic and knowledge remained, at least in part. Near the ruins there is the studying center, managed by the Othanar Falham priests, where people can go to train as wizards. Those that manage to learn enough either go back to their own lands, and if they are powerful enough they usually become part of the ruling class, or they go to another to help fighting whatever is the problem there (wraiths, dragons, etc.). However no one dares walking through the actual ruins. Space and time are quite distorted in there. There’s a reason why.

hi bee!! i love love love your fics and i think you're one of the best character writers i've ever seen :) do you have any original writing stories you're willing to talk about? i love hearing about writers' ocs and stories!! (i hope one day i can pick up an original novel of yours at the store and fall into the story and try to write fic for it half as nice as your fic! xD) thank you for always sharing your writing :)
GOSH thank you!! and i don’t have much interesting to offer as most of the original stuff i’ve written in the past few years is poetry (lmao), but i have a couple of ongoing projects. one is a piece of nz-set contemporary fiction about gay people fighting a guerilla war in a post-capitalist theocracy despite being unable to stop sleeping with each other. the other is an original version of the nate & aj universe that i’ll hopefully publish online :)

I want to know about Reputation and What Does A Pirate Need From God?
👀
Reputation? What Reputation?
You've actually seen a couple bits of this one! c: It's between Virmire and Ilos, where Adrian's running on fumes, grief coffee, also a lot of grief and terror and just. Kind of has a public breakdown in front of the Council, probably the most memorable moment (and one that damn near tanks her reputation, literally the only way she halfway came back from that was because Sovreign showed up in the next 48 GST hours) being when she goes fuck it, and asks Tevos to meld with her because goddamn it /she could at least gain some insight/. (Also thanks to @sparatus ' tinhatting because oh yeah the whole Beacon bullshit is exactly why she'd refuse :'D GG Tevos saving face was totally worth it)
What Does A Pirate Need With God?
More of a concept than a WIP right now, but so far it's like the... tentative 'start' of the Unnamed OC Project (I say 'start' because I think the leadup for how the four MCs wind up where they are could be whole narratives in and of themselves xD But pretending for a second I'm going for an actual novel approach, this would be the opening scene).
Elora Ryba has been a scourge of the sea for near on ten years, and has spent the last two putting together provisions and crew, intending to fulfill an old promise in what will hopefully be her final raid; after this, she's planning to merrily fuck off into the proverbial sunset in one way or another. And since that promise included the possibility of marriage... well, even if she were a legal captain, Elora can't perform her own marriage, so that's why she's taking a little extra time to find a priest before leaving: She Lives In A Society and Theocracy Is The Name Of The Game, and finding one corrupt enough to join her crew but not corrupt (or worse, moral) enough to turn her in is... tricky.
But not impossible.

im going to ramble about one of my characters
feel free to ignore this, im just putting my thoughts on paper so I don’t forget them, and I figured maybe one or two people might appreciate some OC while im drowning in school work.
Warning for some TTS spoilers.
Ira is one of the main character in The Third Son. He’s a professor of theology, and he’s recently moved to Gainesmoore, Friscia (the setting of the story) from a university in Terscepolos, Lussany. Both universities encourage collaborations and academic exchanges to sorta.... encourage cultural exchange and get more points of view etc, etc. You get the point.
Lussanite culture and government policy is very ingrained in their religion. They worship a pantheon of Gods. Networks of temples specific to these Gods carry out public projects (plumbing/water access, for example), education, scientific research, and charity work. These temples function as multiple arms of the government, capable of reaching the public more efficiently than a single bureaucracy. This also means that their specific religious teachings are inseparable from cultural norms in very concrete ways.
Ira is an atheist. In a world where magic is a scientific reality, this means he doesn’t believe that there’s a sentient being controlling these magics. There’s no way this couldn’t be alienating for him, considering accessing any goods or education means going through a temple, a priest, and a theocracy, and that Lussanite culture is extremely family and home-based. Given that Gainesmoore is also run by a theocracy, its safe to say he didn’t move to escape religion. However, in some ways, it probably feels better to be isolated from people he’s never met than people who are supposed to be his family. Friscians already don’t expect Ira to worship the same God that they do, so the standards and the stakes are far lower.
But that loneliness keeps creeping up on him. He lives in a small house with two dogs. Building a new life when he’s surrounded by academics he barely knows is HARD, so much harder than he ever expected. He has to deal with the cultural isolation of being in a Western culture, and the death of his familial connections--which, though shaky, at least EXISTED when he lived in Terscepolos.
Of course, he can rationalize it for awhile. After all, big moves and big changes are hard. It’ll get better, eventually. He’ll get over the culture shock, eventually. He’ll find a community, eventually. He’s very good at creating a persona that is confident, self assured, and in control of any situation, and that keeps him safe. Combined with how he seeks out a community in the local BDSM scene, he finds some sort of stability.
He maintains this persona when he first meets Roslind (if you haven’t read The Third Son, Roslind is our narrator and Ira’s friend with benefits). After all, he’s the accomplished academic, the handsome dom, a man so confident that he’d proposition someone in a coffee shop (ok, lets be real, Roslind is the least intimidating person in existence, but we’ll let him think this part is true).
But even in this relationship, the persona inevitably falls apart. I think when Ira starts to get closer and more intimate with Roslind, not just as a sex buddy, but as a friend and a partner, he'll realize how he’s let his life spiral so drastically out of control.
I’d get into the consequences of THIS realization but that’s a spoiler I’m not willing to give out, so you’ll have to trust me that my favorite brown atheist gets a sweet, sentimental ending.

okay now I gotta ask after Varian Ironcrow
Full Name: Varian Ironcrow. Before that, though, he went by a number of different names. His original name, long, long ago was Victor Mendoza.
Gender and Sexuality: Male, Bi/Pansexual
Pronouns: He, Him, His
Ethnicity/Species: Human (nano-cyborg?) of Chicano ancestry
Birthplace and Birthdate: ORIGINALLY, Los Angeles sometime in the 22nd century AD. Most recently, awakened with virtually no memory in a ruined city 10 years before the novel starts. So, kinda- ruins of Valmaren, 1014 Ascendant Era.
Guilty Pleasures: Drinking, smoking (both tobacco and cannabis). He refrains from all of the above to set a better example for his adoptive daughter, but indulges when she’s not around.
Phobias: Isolation, His past/himself.
What They Would Be Famous For: Leading the militant wing of an anarcho-syndicalist revolutionary union/organization that seeks to undermine the theocracy and redistribute its resources. Literally inhuman combat skill and ability to recover from grotesquely ‘mortal’ injuries. (Including a headshot! Which is why the amnesia for everything before 10 years ago)
What They Would Get Arrested For: See above.
OC You Ship Them With: Verity Black
OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Lacuna, Thorne. His best friend Masano when he gets fed the fuck up with Varian’s bullshit.
Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Trickster stories where someone outwits/charms a ‘stronger’ foe and gets away with it scott free.
Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Doomed Tragic Romance
Talents and/or Powers: Superhuman physical capabilities, reaction times, accuracy, combat abilities. Regeneration. Charismatic in a roguish sort of way, natural leader, physically fearless.
Why Someone Might Love Them: He cares deeply and passionately about friends, loved ones, and social issues. He puts on a ‘cool guy’ act but opens up pretty quickly to a heart-on-his-sleeve sort of guy. He projects his own dislike for outside control onto others and so is very aware of peoples’ boundaries/agency. He’s a surprisingly great dad.
Why Someone Might Hate Them: He’s an unrepentant wiseass ruffian who is more than willing to resort to violence to bring down a corrupt regime. He’s a fundamentally vengeful man. If you’re not on his side, he’s an implacable foe. If you are on his side, he can be infuriating.
How They Change: He softens a bit over the course of the story, reining in his vindictive streak and learning to prioritize his compassion over his anger.
Why You Love Them: Wisecracking (visibly!) latino scoundrel gunslinger revolutionary? He’s everything I wish I could be.

oc relationships questions meme
6. What OC is the Mom Friend?
Well, there are a few in-story factions with different respective Mom Friends.
Among the main ragtag band of misfit heroes, Josie is definitely the Mom Friend. Maybe not at the beginning, exactly, since the main cast’s team needs to come together and get their dynamics going… but Josie will emerge as the Mom Friend among the main cast and they’re going to have very mixed feelings about it, because they don’t particularly want to be the Mom Friend on their free time when that’s also largely their role on the team at S.T.R.O.M.A. (the FBI off-shoot that is basically the Division of Mutant Shenanigans), but okay fine, Josie will do it.
If they need time off, then Margot would be the backup Mom Friend, but she’s more the Wine Mom Friend or the Vodka Aunt Friend than the actual Mom Friend, so that could be messy.
Among the main villains, Joanie and Margaret are the Mom Friends, with Margaret being the Mom Friend who’s more likely to make you dinner or cookies or something and actively push you to open up to her and will always be there for your soccer games and your dance recitals, and try to shelter you from everything she deems potentially inappropriate (and will insist on using euphemisms about it, even if she’s speaking to fellow adults), while Joanie is like a mix of power-suited working Mom Friend who’s got everything handled and wants to support you while also keeping everyone on track, and of, “I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom! Right, Regina?”
But as nice as that sounds, Margaret is a Far-Right Born Again Christian self-appointed moral guardian who wants to enforce her views of how everything should be on everyone and is okay with using superpowers to do so (and if she had ever read The Handmaid’s Tale, she would think Atwood’s Republic of Gilead had the right idea in their totalitarian white Christian theocracy)
…while Joanie wouldn’t exactly call herself a fascist because, see, that is some very aggressive, loaded language with a lot of baggage attached and she doesn’t want to censor anyone, of course not, but she would prefer that we use a more diplomatic equivocation that doesn’t confirm or deny anything and sounds more like a Craigslist ad than a statement of her sociopolitical beliefs or an answer to whatever question you asked (unless the question is about her love of Ayn Rand)
So, them being the Mom Friends doesn’t make anything better about them; it means that they are the Mom Friends of their group and also pretty terrible people (which doesn’t make them any different from most of the people on their so-called “team”)
Among the All-Stars, you have Ruby Marvel (who would say she’s more of the Dad Friend, because she tries to be the Mom Friend but is sometimes really bad at it) and Darkshroud (whom most people would peg as the Dad Friend, because he projects an image that is in the brooding, emotionally distant, vaguely anti-heroic model and supportive but distant and Not Good at emotions, but that is largely an act and he’s very different when you really get to know him. Still given to periodic bouts of brooding, though).
The All-Stars are basically the in-universe equivalent to the Justice League or the Avengers. They’re the most recognizable U.S. superhero team, arguably the biggest and most notable team in the world, and they’re regularly touted as the Face Of Heroism. They have lunchboxes, they have a Saturday morning cartoon, some of the big members or former members have Oscar-winning biopics directed by the likes of Oliver Stone and Steven Spielberg.
But since 1986, they’ve been doing less and less hero work, to the point that most of the current lineup is more concerned with their reality show and “their brand” than actually acting like superheroes. Two of them (Red Queen and Prince Nebula) are failed pop stars who happened to have mutant abilities, so when their albums weren’t selling, they decided to go BS their way through getting superhero licenses and put in to be new sidekicks to Captain Firebrand and The Myrmidon, and broke out as heroes in their own right in 2012.
and one last team: among the Wardens, Yael is the Tough Love Mom Friend/Mama Bear Mom Friend, Lucien is the, “Let’s go to my office, have tea, and talk out what’s bothering you” Mom Friend, and Elizabeth is often misidentified as the Mom Friend because she has more chill than her wife/co-founder of their team/co-principal of their school, but having more chill than Yael doesn’t really mean much.
7. What OC really needs the Mom Friend around?
On Josie and Margot’s team…… well. Sebastian and Lucy are likely the worst offenders in this regard, followed by Pete in a distant third place, because:
Lucy is young, inexperienced, eager, and more of a doer than a planner so she’s the one who’s most likely to need a chill down talk lest she run headlong into an obvious trap or something;
Seb is a Mess, a complete human disaster, Pete has more than once rightfully likened his psyche to a bag filled with wet cats, and to be fair, he’s trying his best……… but he’s still a Mess, though, and a mess who can turn into a nine-foot-tall wolf-man and is nearly 30 before doing so for the first time and has rather an uphill struggle about learning to control it;
and Pete is young-ish but experienced, and a Mess but he’s a better adjusted Mess who’s been putting more work into his therapy sessions than his abruptly a werewolf best friend up there and consequentially getting more out of them, and in lieu of a Mom Friend, you can generally rely on him to be like the Cool Older Brother friend, or something
……except he doesn’t always think before running his mouth off about something, or before starting shit with someone, or before agreeing that it’s totally a good use of team time to go to the mall with Lucy and sit on a bench outside the Hot Topic and make judgmental comments about all of the little Hot Topic goths because, “You never know! Observing the current social climate in that environment might help us figure out some of the things we can’t currently make heads or tails of,” which is a cute way of saying, “Because I want to make fun of the Hot Topic edgelords with Lucy, this sounds fun”
So it’s less that he needs the emotional support of a Mom Friend and more that he needs the impulse control of a Mom Friend.
And okay, he and Seb often play each other’s impulse control, and Pete is more willing to listen to his Princess than to most other people… but sometimes, they both fail at impulse control and enable each other in questionable things that could be as small as, “Okay, I get that you two wanted to win a silly bet but did Pete really need another pair of lime green hot-pants?” or it could end in a trip to the emergency room, so.
Having someone as backup impulse control for Pete isn’t a bad plan.
On the villain team: Julian and Annie, hands down, need a Mom Friend — but considering that Margaret is one of Annie’s abusers and only tolerates Julian under the condition that he, “acts less gay” in her presence (and maybe listens to her “theories” about conversion therapy and lets her “help save him”), and considering that Joanie may not outright abuse Annie but she definitely enables the people who do and still doesn’t treat Annie very well, while not just enabling Julian’s substance abuse but actively giving him whatever he wants and then some, as part of an official plan that she helped come up with, designed to keep him dependent on the higher-ups in their so-called, “team”…?
Uh, yeah, “Julian and Annie need different Mom Friends” is a massive understatement.
On the All-Stars: Knightshade II and Zephyr Haze need a Mom Friend most often (the former because she’s the youngest team member and technically still a sidekick [to Darkshroud, though she sometimes teams up with Grimm, who was the first Knightshade], and the latter because he’s a Mess and, like Seb, he’s trying, but still, he’s a Mess), and unfortunately for Ruby Marvel, she’s often in need of a Mom Friend herself, despite her being one of the Mom Friends. At least Darkshroud is usually there to rely on.
And on the Wardens, well. Most of the characters who need a Mom Friend most aren’t technically on the team yet because they’re the students who came to Yael and Elizabeth’s school from particularly awful circumstances, or whose powers are harder to learn to control and/or ostensibly more of a curse than a blessing, and most of them are under the age of 18. That said, Yael is Josie’s Mom Friend, even if Josie isn’t officially on her team.

Name: Carolina Lucia, don't call her "Carol"
Age:  24
Race: Human.
Gender: Female, prefers to be addressed as “miss” or “lady” if ever possible
Occupation: Heiress, “Newspaper reporter”, thief
Quirks:
Carolina only steals various pieces of property of the Lucia family.
Her newspaper doesn’t sell well but she really doesn’t need the money.
Likes: her title, her father, boots! Writing, jewelry, stealing
Dislikes: her family, writing, needles, the theocracy(actually they scare her)
Alignment: Neutral because the rebellion doesn’t interest her and the theocracy scares her.
Bio:
Carolina was dropped on the doorstep of some poor upper-classman a few days after her birth with a note staying “She’s yours to deal with.” Surprisingly she was taken in with little question and raised as the man’s only heir, despite what her father’s family wished. She lived quite comfortably for the first 20 years of her life… until her father’s untimely death and her sequent removal from his trust. Somehow the will was changed to take out Carolina as his heir and named her in the circumstances of her father’s death. At first Carolina fought through the proper legal channels to clear her name and have her title restored but she was only able to get a small… very small portion of her father’s fortune to go away. She used her funds to start a small newspaper as a cover up for her real activities of stealing from her former family to get the fortune and title she so rightfully deserved. So far she was able to recover a few pieces of jewelry, some books, and the actual will but she wants more before claiming back her title.
Appearance:
Carolina is 5’3
She has white hair that just passes her shoulders and black eyes
Personality:
Carolina is a ditz~ she seems airheaded and a little too slow and nosey for her own good… most of the time but give her credit because half the time it’s all an act! IF given some time, she’s shown to have a functioning brain up there with a can do spirit but has a very cynical side along with her positive outlook on life. Since she was raised in the upper-class, Carolina still acts very prim and proper despite how much she tries not to but years of boarding schools and etiquette lessons don’t go away in one night. Sadly

Oh man that's a chewy thought
I think that if the Followers were going to take on a project like this, their ideal sitch would be operating as independent "cells" primarily with teaching the basics if needed and a focus on gentle deprogramming of fascist propaganda. The Legion being as it is in game is violently opposed to any sort of disobedience.
What does your OC want to do with the Legion? How does his theocracy look? What does the religion look like? I feel like these are more important questions before the Followers would enter negotiations.
Without knowing more and depending on the story you want to tell, I could imagine Followers as is traveling in cells, trying to educate their way, getting captured (not killed), then forced to teach only what your OC might want them to.
Fallout lore nerds i need help
What would it take for the Followers to agree to teach basic literacy to inhabitants of Legion occupied zones, if they were allowed through the territory? If the pottery maker they teach literacy to ends up working for the nascent bureaucracy of the nascent state they disapprove of, does this influence their ideology as a group?
Assuming this is a state of "caesar is dead" and "his heir is not at all down with fascism and slavery but does seek to consolidate a theocratic state"

Who's your favorite theocracy ally?\\
As I’m sure I’ve illustrated, I’ve got no intention of gaining “allies”, but Nohs DOES seem to claim my day bed fairly often, and Luna drops by from time to time… bloody annoying girls …but all are pleasant company.
Oh and not to forget the bartender and the mercenary I met a while back, of course.

Can someone read this bio and tell me if it seems okay?
Bio: Errina was born to a teenage girl in the back of a mechanic’s shop. The teenager had been hidden by her mother during her pregnancy, as neither of them wanted her father, the mechanic, to see the child his daughter had had with a man he hardly knew. They threw the baby (Errina) out in the cold alleyway to die. She would have perished, but a man heard her childish shrieks and followed them to where she was lying, freezing and wailing, in the shadows. Not knowing what else to do, the man picked up the child and returned to his home with her, where he cared for her until she was healthy and stable. He considered taking her to somewhere she could be properly cared for in, but had grown inexplicably attached to the baby and decided to raise her himself. His name was Zeke Saher, and he gave her the name Errina.
Errina grew up in Zeke’s tavern, where she saw all sorts of criminals and thugs coming through. She often hid in the basement, not wanting to run into anyone who might hurt her. When she was twelve, Zeke (who she now called her father) asked her to start working in his tavern, to which she obliged, feeling as if she owed him for raising her himself. But on her first day of work, she was harassed for hours before two men grabbed her when her father’s back was turned and kidnapped her. They tortured and abused her both physically, mentally, and sexually for three days before her father, who was rather old and feeble, attempted to save her. He was shot dead by one of the men, but managed to keep them busy long enough for Errina to escape. She never got her chance to say goodbye to him.
Errina lived on the city streets for a year, sneaking around and stealing food and money to survive. When she was thirteen, she was caught trying to make off with a large loaf of bread, and she had to beg the shopkeeper not to turn her in. By some miracle, when she was turned over to the authorities, they didn’t punish her. Instead, because she bad become such a popular thief, they decided to make use of her talents and turn her into a military spy. This involved forcing her through training that was both physically and mentally scarring. While training, she had an accident that brought her close to death and left her with permanent brain damage. Because of this, she was dropped from the military spy training and thrown in jail, where she had been headed in the first place.
Now fifteen and in prison, Errina was beginning to lose her mind. She became convinced that she could see the future, and had psychic powers. She insisted that her name was not Errina Saher, but Sybil, a name meaning “seer” or “prophetess”. Her insanity was not just a result of brain damage, but also early signs of schizophrenia. She saw visions and heard voices, which she claimed were guiding her on the path of a prophetess. After seven months of imprisonment and insanity, Errina (now Sybil) broke herself out of jail. She hid herself within the city once again, this time working instead of stealing. She never stayed in one place for too long, making sure that she would never be caught.
She began calling herself “Madame Sybil” (completely unrelated to the Madame Sybil of the 1800s, who was a poet) and gained a reputation as able to see the future. People who wanted her to do psychic services would need to find her, pay her a high sum of money, and swear an oath to never give away her location. Still, she always moved after she had a customer, just in case. Several young girls (between the ages of nine and thirteen) began working under her, who she claimed to be divine as well, but still beneath her. The girls didn’t care that Sybil was only fifteen; they loved her anyway.
Maybe it was the mechanic’s blood in her veins, but there came a point where Sybil’s insanity where she fell in love with technology. It was the only thing she considered to be as divine as herself (and possibly the Tyrant), and she began believing that not only were robots and cyborgs better than humans, but that humans were unworthy to live. If a human came to her as a customer, she and the young girls would lure them in, making them think they were welcome, before murdering them brutally. Sybil’s girl servants began purposely hacking off their own and each other’s limbs and going to mechanics in hope of getting mechanical replacement parts. They were growing frightened of Madame Sybil, and wanted to please her so she wouldn’t decide to kill them if she ever realized that they were only human, and not divine in the slightest. Many bled to death in this process, but the few who lived continued to serve Sybil devotedly. Even though they knew they weren’t divine themselves, they believed that their mistress was.
Despite her experiences with prison and forced spy training, Sybil still supported the Theocracy, seeing the Tyrant as the god who had given her the psychic powers she treasured. Her insanity was only worsening, having been a combination of schizophrenia, brain damage, and solitary confinement while in prison. She knew she was being hunted by the military, but that didn’t change her feelings for the Theocracy itself.
Sybil also fell in love with one of her servant girls, who was named Genevieve. Genevieve couldn’t reject her mistress, and felt honored to be loved by the divine Madame Sybil. Despite Genevieve being only thirteen while she was fifteen, Sybil loved Genevieve and treasured her. She treated her better than the other servant girls, and she never let anyone touch her.
