Brother Bear is one of those stories I don't often credit for forming a whole section of my personality. I had picture books, I had the games, I watched it all the time. It really instilled this idea of false monsters to me. That monsters are the things we make within ourselves.

Also it just gave me this lifelong obsession with the concept of spirit guides, and animals being used as symbols to understand life. Balto did that for me too but I could write an essay about that too lmao.

And like idk it made me see nature in such a mystical way. It gave me some level of oneness with nature that at a young age I didn't know how to describe. I remember talking about it with other kids when I was little and my class read the picture book and there was something that nobody else understood. I wanted so badly for someone else to feel what I felt about it but it was hard.
