Making Waves

Hey peeps!

Sorry for the radio silence art-wise; I just finished my first semester at SCAD, so I’ve been pretty swamped with work! And surprise surprise, going to an art school where drawing is basically all of your homework doesn’t really give too much time to make personal pieces. I might post the traditional stuff I’ve been working on later though so ehh?

But this was for my Color Theory class! It was our last assignment and we could use any medium we wanted, so I was FINALLY able to pick up my precious iPad and do what I do best. So here’s a redesign of Monsoon! My ocean-themed superhero from my Super Heroines story.

I haven’t put too much focus on this world compared to DnD OCs, but it’s fun to come back to when I get tired of fantasy clothing and wanna go more sci-fi/magical girl. Monsoon’s original design was… *cringes*… but I really enjoy this new look for her. I think it properly gets across her sass and gracefulness, since she incorporates various dance styles and routines in her combat.

Anyhoo, more art in the future maybe? I’ll think about posting my homework and then I’ll maybe go over my work in my AP Art class from last year since that’s 12 already finished pieces I haven’t released yet and am still pretty proud of. Maybe I could make it a YouTube video with commentary or something?? Would people watch that???

Started working on a design for Benthesikyme - daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite.

I've been sick a lot the last few weeks, so I had to take a force-hiatus on art while I sorted that out! Seasonal allergies are trying to end me this year.

Anyway, this is the first colour concept for her! I gave her a red cloak for now, but I'm still deciding whether or not to keep it red?? I thought it would be kinda cool to bring in a 'Red Sea' concept for Benthi (and yeah the sea can turn red and it's a whole science thing my sleep-deprived brain cannot comprehend at the moment lol)

last post i reblogged got me thinkin about how DRAMATIC the lives of my dolls used to be. my main dollhouse storyline was that the dollhouse was actually a resort hotel with a hot tub (bowl of warm water) and all sorts of other features, and there were two main families on vacation there, staying in rooms side by side, leading vastly different lives otherwise. except the parents of both families all knew each other as kids and were all secretly in love and have been thinking about each other for years, but they had a huge falling out and swore to never see each other again so when they find out they’re all staying there they try their best to avoid contact…. but while on vacation there’s a major natural disaster (usually all of them mixed into one), and two of the kids (one from each family, the youngest smallest weakest most pathetic children) go missing and the rest of them are barricaded in their room due to earthquakes and flooding and fires, and one parent from each family swaps and two of them go on a rescue mission while the others try to get out of the rooms, all while the kids are learning to get along despite their differences, and the parents realise that they got the fathers mixed up originally and now they don’t know whose real parents are whose, and also actually the resort ends up being under a terrorist/hostage situation, and the parents that are on the rescue mission keep almost dying and saving each other….. and then by the end of it the parents realise they’re all 4 in love and should just be a blended family and all the kids get to be siblings with 4 parents and live in a mansion together. but they all have ptsd from the events of their vacation and end up all sleeping in one room together forever.

i’ve wanted to get one of these wave rings for years and today I finally got one 🌊 I easily could’ve ordered one online when I first saw these years ago (saw pics on tumblr and insta and fell in love) but I have a thing for wanting things to be sentimental and I really wanted to get one of these wave rings while I was on a beach vacation near the ocean. today I finally got one and I utterly adore it 💙 and it matches so perfectly with my butterfly ring that I’ve had for 10 years now. they’re a perfect match and I’m so so happy! it’s simplistic and beautiful and I love my new ring <3
