EXCITING NEWS!! Today, the company I do art for, XGen Studios, released The Low Road on Steam! It’s such a great feeling to finally get to show all of the illustrations I’ve been working on over the past 3 and a half years. It feels a bit strange to not get that immediate feedback that we’re so used to as artists these days, but it’s so rewarding to see it all come together in the final months and weeks. Working with this team of supportive and hardworking creative individuals makes these Long Projects feel short.

Chris Womersley was born in Melbourne in 1968. His debut novel, The Low road, won the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Book in 2008. First Impression

Hi guys! long time no see! It’s been a while since i posted my last review in this blog. I’m terribly sorry because my part-time job, my uni-life, and anything else made me had to stay away from this blog for a while. But, no need to worry because i am back! Christmas and New Year Holiday still happening WOHOO! How was your Christmas eve? was it good? Yes, i do hope so! and Happy New Years!!

I found this book at Big Bad Wolf that was held on my town 2 years ago (i completely forgot) and i read about the synopsis is quite fascinating. Because it was like a poems for me and it just a few lines in there that describe about the book. It challenge me for sure and i decided to buy this book immediately.

Synopsis

A Suitcase of stolen cash has brought three criminals together.

One has a bullet in his side. One has blood on his hands. One has vengeance on his mind. Each has run from their past. Each will now fight for their future.

A modern Thriller, The Low Road highlights our desire to outrun our demons, and the dark consequences we face when we are forced to confront them.

Point of view : Third person, because we read the story and by reader & author’s perspective i presume

Setting of Place : i don’t know for sure where this story take place but it kind of dirty, grimy, lost city and the despairing suburbs so it might be New York, Stockholm or even Sydney yeah i do not know exactly.

I read this book at the beginning of December, 2017 and finish it at the beginning of January, 2018. Yes, it took one month long because i had to deal with my final exam papers which drive me insane and another part-time job that i do as usual. At the beginning, i really like how Mr. Womersley wrote those kind of words in this book because i can imagine it how it takes but yeah i still confused where this story take place. And this book was my first crime-mystery-thriller english novel i read. it challenge me and it is hard to read it in crowded places even when i read it in silent place it still hard to understand. I do agree with Mr. Haigh that Mr. Womersley book is hard to keep reading but it’s harder to stop. because i felt that way when i read this book! And this is my favorite line

More confusing about the conversation that written in this book (seriously) because he did not use any mark to tell us that this is a conversation. and yes we have to guess it by ourself. For example in this picture (Can you guess or even imagine how those conversation goes without any mark? because i don’t is it only me the one who stupid or you felt it too)

This book have Four Part that every part of it are amazing! I do recommended this book because the ending was not predictable and it such a great book! I gave 5/5 STARS for this book really! (i should read more of this genre because it drive me insane more than my final papers). Well done Mr. Womersley you do a great job!

I’ve been working on this point and click adventure called The Low Road with XGen Studios for the last few years now and I’m super proud of the work that the team has been able to put together. We’ve been through a lot. Our founder and CEO, Skye Boyes, passed away suddenly over a year ago in the midst of the production of this game, and I have to say that it’s been an emotional challenge at times to power through without his inspirtation, leadership and friendship to fall back on. We’ve overcome a lot and we still have lots of work to do ahead of us, but it feels great to finally start sharing all the hard work that has been put into this game.
