Sometimes we allow moments to live thru pictures and video because we have no other choice and although you can come in the middle of the night or early mornings with your guns, batons and riot gear physically removing objects and people we love and are connected to you will never be able to erase our memories because that’s a choice. NO DEALS. BEYOND THE SKETCHBOOK. Sometimes I need help and I’m not afraid to recruit ask for it, a few years back out of frustration and anger about the fake state of Hawaii’s lack of respect and disregard for the communities opposition of the TMT telescope I was trying to raise awareness thru my platform which was and still is fashion and design but even that wasn’t enough to me so I reached out to my favorite local lyricists and put together a Rap group and named this project “The Lower ‘Āina Project” and till this day it’s one of my favorites because of the content and meaning behind it not to mention the opportunity to work with a bunch of people I respect and look up to. Oh and if your trynna find something to hate and wanna ask me if I made money off of this I can tell you right now I’m lucky if I broke even after paying for everyone’s flights,food, drinks and the videographers but I was and still am passionate about what’s happening here in Hawaii I@ gonna fight the good fight anyway I can and best believe when it’s go time imma be front line and I’d like to see any of those other brands making mauna related shirts and profiting of off it and I don’t have a problem with locals getting the bag but we also needed and still need people to come up and put all on the line for Hawaii and our culture because it’s almost go time again and with that being said. “See you on the mauna”.
