|| REVIEW ||⠀ I picked up The Light Between Worlds on a whim, and I never expected to fall so deeply in love with this story. Although it’s primarily marketed as high fantasy, Light is really a genre-bending tale with a foundation in historical fiction and elements of fantasy that reads like a contemporary. If you’re a fan of Narnia or romantic British literature, you’re going to be just as obsessed as I am with this book! The writing is so ridiculously beautiful, I used over a stack of tabs to mark all the quotes I liked. Light is serene and wondrous, I felt every emotion of the characters in my bones. It also meant a lot to me personally, since a huge part of the story focuses on finding the definition of home and where you belong. The first half of the book is told from Evelyn’s point of view while the second is from Phillips’s perspective. Both were expertly woven together and equally as impactful, not to mention the freaking ADORABLE romance that had me curled in a ball crying because it was just so dang cute! I will give a firm warning that the book heavily focuses on depression, suicide, and self-harm (with a few instances in detail), so you should be aware of that going into this book if that’s something that might affect you.
