"There are plenty of overt references to the landscape as well, of course, starting right off the bat, with the frenetic fuzz rock of “My Blood Runs Through This Land,” invoking the rocks and the water and the incredible yearning you feel when you’re far away from the people and places you love before gradually climaxing like a rare Washington lightning storm. At other times, she conjures images of dark, primordial forests, like on album highlight “Treeline,” with its graceful throb, or “Salmon Stinta” and “On the River” bringing to mind a lazy, swaying river."
