The rose whip mini game was freaking hilarious. Pardon the terrible drawing below (I'm lying on my futon right now and the only thing I have is my phone with this Collage Maker photo app on it so I finger painted this real quick over a screenshot lol):

Basically you stand in front of a table with three sets of stacked buckets/cylinders. Each stack is two cylinders high. You need to knock over the cylinders. The bottom cylinders are worth more.

There are three lines to mark where you can stand - the furthest for practice (three practice throws), the middle for actually doing it, and the closest one for little kids. You get a rose whip, which... I dunno where they got this from, it's a green plastic whip which has a loop on one end and a fat squishy bulbous leaf-like tip, and you put your arm through the loop and then loop the whip a few times in your hand, then hold the leaf part. There are lots of particulars about how you have to hold and toss it to play the game fairly with a proper level of difficulty, like: your hand must start at your side, you can't toss too high, you must toss straight (up-down) and no thrashing the whip around when it reaches the table, lol. I managed to knock over the two top cylinders on the left and the middle stack, but both of my attempts on the right stack missed lol. (Also I should note I assume I had double the number of attempts because I bought two tickets for every minigame)

You get random participation prizes for every mini game even if you don't win. I got a random postcard which was Hiei. Hahaha

I’M DYING 😂😂😂 We caught the Yu Yu Hakusho 25th anniversary event at J World Tokyo and I fulfilled my childhood dream lmao.

Some of the highlights included checking out the life size character cutouts, measuring the Kuwabara meal (I happened to have a tape measure on me OK, and this baguette or whatever was like 33cm), writing a message to Yoshihiro Togashi (god knows if it’ll actually make it to him, but I had fun), and then spending too much money playing the hilarious minigames.

One of them was a bunch of random challenges and I happened to get one to draw a recognizable YYH character in 15 seconds. The staff member running the game was like “uwa, Yusuke, umai! (Wow, Yusuke, it’s good!)” Roflmao….

Hello!! As some of you may know, life has been difficult these past couple of years. I have missed the fandom and I have especially missed being creative, so I thought I’d do something for the fandom!!

I am calling this an exchange because I will soon start posting my newest YYH fic, but I know the pairings are not for everyone. The exchange part is voluntary. At first I couldn’t decide what to draw, but then I thought of that Keanu Reeves video where he’s surrounded by puppies, and was like THAT but it’s Kuwabara with kittens!

Are you familiar with human stories in which a robot..."short circuits" I believe is the phrase, after receiving an impossible command? Their electronic brain destroys itself trying to obey.

The Jagan could be used to force them to control themselves which would have a similar affect. I hope. I'm no expert and frankly no one has survived facing the Sisters before. And if course that's provided you can get through whoever they decide to use as a sheild.

As for time, no not much if you value the lives of those bent to the Sisters' will. The longer their minds are invaded, the easier they are to control, and the more damaged their minds become until they are broken beyond repair.

And if that happens to Mukuro, we won't need Hiei and his Jagan. I will ensure those Sisters experience unimaginable pain before being wiped thoroughly from the face of the earth.

How does this work? Anyone can create fanworks that feature Kazuma Kuwabara! It can be shippy or platonic but he must be the main focus. It can be headcanons, meta, fanart, videos, fanfic, graphics, fanmixes, gifs, any kind of fanwork!

Kuwabara Birthday Week!

A short little oneshot for my wonderful Kazu. WARNING: kinda sad, but super hopeful at the same time, I think? @thekazumakuwabara

The warmth of the small campfire was losing its battle against the still winter air. It had been hours since I placed any fuel in the pit, letting the flames die down to embers. The sun would be up soon, and it would be time to finally stifle the coals with dirt.

The night had passed slowly as I meditated by the fire; time itself granting me a reprieve from its usual hectic sprint. These last few hours had felt like a lifetime, and I was thankful for the gift. My memories had seemed to play in full, one by one, my entire story growing from my heart like a patient mulberry tree.

A weighty stack of papers sat in my lap. My handwriting had never been the best, but I had taken great care in keeping the lines clean. The arthritis in my fingers had made my task so much harder, and I'm sure that my grandchild would chide me for not just using the tablet she had bought me for my last birthday. Izumi would come to appreciate the extra care that a handwritten account entailed, of that I could be certain.

My biography was finished now, but one could hardly mistake it for being a story solely about me. It was a story about my family, and my dear friends, first and foremost. They were the real stars of my life, and I could only hope that I'd ensured their legacies would run strong through the Kuwabara bloodline for many centuries to come. They deserved that and so much more.

The sun would be up soon, so I set my trowel to work. These woods were sacred and the fire must go out, even if my knees protested being bent against the earth.

Warm pink began to stain the sky as I walked free of the tree line and to the edge of the cliff. The ocean churned softly against the beach below, a beach where one of my brightest memories lived. This place had been my respite for a few decades now, always quiet, always beautiful. I was sure I would always remember this place, no matter what lifetime I lived.

“You have a higher calling than reincarnation, kid.

Genkai's voice was always unmistakable. Whether her words were warm or colder than ice, I'd heard them many times when I came to this place to meditate. She understood me like no other, for we had both grown incredible power from inescapable mortality.

“Then why does that sound like responsibility that I'm completely unprepared for?” I asked as I perched my aching bones on my favorite stone.

She turned to look at me, her hair as bright and warm as the budding sunrise, and her youthful smirk not betraying her true age. “If you thought you were ready for it, you'd be the wrong guy for the job.”

I laughed as a frigid ocean breeze washed over me. The cold didn't bite at my joints this time, and I felt confusion take the place of my mirth.

It was short lived, however. I had been expecting this, after all.

The sun was rising.

And gods, was it beautiful.

I recently started rewatching YYH and ur blog has been my go to reminisce about it ♡. I hope ur doing well and drink a lot if water! ♡

Oh my goodness, this is such a lovely ask to get in my inbox!!! I’m glad you’re having a good reminiscing jaunt into YYH! I don’t know if you know about my sideblog, which is basically YYH 24/7, but if you haven’t, you can check it out: @thekazumakuwabara. Someone sent me an ask there recently to make a gifset so I’m working on it.

As for doing well, I’m doing ok. I could be better, but I’m physically healthy, and I’m doing fine, maybe might hang out with my friends this weekend, who knows. But I am hydrating, and I’ll continue to do so! I hope you’re doing well anon and drinking lots of water and eating and all that jazz. Other than that, we’re getting a cold front here, so I’m just all bundled up, drinking hot chocolate and watching Halloween themed TV eps, so it’s all good here for now.

The other week Nobuyuki Hiyama was a guest on Megumi Ogata’s AbemaTV show “Seiyuu to Yoru Asobi.” (Thanks to @thekazumakuwabara for tipping me off!) It’s his 30th anniversary since debuting as a seiyuu-- he was only 5 years into the business and 25 years old when he got the role of Hiei. The two talked about old projects and new, and of course YYH was brought up a bunch. 

Highlights:

-- They played the clip when Hiei and Kurama were first introduced, much to Ogata’s dismay. She retold the story mentioned in the Livedoor interview about that first session, and how she didn’t know which mic to jump in on to record. Hiyama did his best panicked impersonation of her and she defended herself reminding everyone it was her debut. 

-- They talked a little about the new OVA for Two Shots, and their feelings of, roughly, “It’s usually easy to return to a character, but these were the characters before we played them, so that was kind of hell.” They are looking forward to its release. 

-- Hiyama finds Hiei really funny, because although he has a certain “baddy” image to him, he’s actually quite chatty, especially in fights. He talks himself up so much, especially when he’s introduced, and Hiyama thinks that really stands out about his personality. 

-- They watched he promo video for the OVA together, which lead to the revelation that Tomomichi Nishimura, the narrator, was approached one day to play a nameless blue ogre. Naming him Jorge Saotome was a decision the seiyuu made himself on the fly with an ad-lib, and it stuck. They love him. In the preview, Jorge says, “I’m in it too!” which confused Ogata because she didn’t remember seeing him, but Hiyama says he was narrating Two Shots and is also featured in “Sink or Swim.”

Um, I dunno if this is useful but it's a graphic I didn't see for a while in game and tells you what kinds of cards are strong against other cards. It's also and idea of what kind of cards pair well as support cards. For instance, blue cards are supported by green and are good against red cards! The percentages on the deck page tell you how well those cards pair together. For instance I had a Hiei card paired to a support Jin card and it was 80%. Now paired to a support (green) Yukina card, it's at 100. I think the support abilities trigger more often the higher that is. Otherwise a lot of the game is just tapping the screen to advance.... I can try to answer other questions?
