I have wanted to make art about this film for a long time, you know, I love Joaquin Phoenix and I had to see it, I remember when I saw it at its premiere, it was really exciting and I was impressed to see how so many people managed to identify with the film. This was a time where I read a lot of Joker fanfiction and loved his chemistry with Sophie.

I think that even though the Joker is a villain, at some point in our lives, we can feel like Arthur. There comes a breaking point where sometimes you can be considered a clown, whether due to bullying or simply human cruelty, and laughter is usually a mask that we often use in adult life to hide life's problems. . daily. And that is something that the film masterfully narrates.

I love Phoenix's performance in this film, I think it was quite natural and you got to connect with him at all times, one of the scenes I enjoyed the most was the one dancing on the stairs, also when he meets Sophie.

I hadn't said this before, but I have a fascination with drawing paint, especially body paint, and I try to use it in a way that makes it look realistic, with a lightly smeared effect between his features.

Been wanting to see this for a while and even though I heard good things it was even better than I expected. Thing is this is a dark movie which focuses on the extremely unlikeable and disturbed joker orgon story, so is a gripping but uncomfortable film to watch (this seems to have come to a surprise to a lot of people based on the chatter as I left the cinema). Joaquin Phoenix is freaky enough at the best of times so I'm not sure if the upcoming oscar nod should go to him of the director that picked him for the role. But he was great as a joker probably closest to the way the character is meant to actually be portrayed.
