On 27 April, every year we celebrate the world design day thanks to @theicod . This year the theme is 'Be professional!', a reflection on the designer's role not only in designing well, but our greater responsabilities towards humanity, the planet and culture. . What does professional conduct in design mean to you? Each designer has their own creative journey, although it takes time to be reflective and conscious about the best approaches that might have your career. Part of the meaning of being professional includes setting ambitious goals and take the risk to make then happen. A professional conduct invests plenty of time in research and experimentation. In 2008 I surprised a Beijing @theicod conference audience and came as a koala. Designers outside of Australia are more interested in seeing koalas than understanding Australian design, so I came to lecture as what they wanted.
