For @thegreyhenley !! I’m super proud of this lil nugget, and I’m even prouder knowing it’s gonna help not only with such a beautiful gift for Rhett but with an awesome cause as well. -Astrid

“Woah there Flash, don’t wanna take a tumble now do we?” Link says teasingly, he knew it would bug the taller man but he also knew that he would listen. Sure enough, Rhett slows his pace and huffs in annoyance. Link just smiles. This was a regular occurrence on their morning walk. It still baffled him how it seemed like just yesterday they were thirty something year olds hosting GMM. Now they were a couple of old farts pushing seventy and Rhett was in denial about the fragility of his aging frame. It was even easier for Rhett to hurt his back nowadays, and it had gotten bad enough that he had had to start using a cane. So Link wasn't about to let Rhett put himself in the hospital from stubbornness.

A few moments pass then Rhett breaks the silence, he knew Link was right and only looking out for him.

"Thank you brother."

Link chuckles then replies thoughtfully.

"Always".

Hi this is Grey :) I think of two things: Rhett in Gentlemen of the Evening on that stage the first night, giving off that "fuck you" sexy vibe out of desperation, and then the two of them at the river, talking about Owen ;__; I also think of them with Nina in the first chapter of What Blooms in Ash, and how brilliantly you showed the differences in their personalities via their interactions with their daughter.

Yesss those parts were fun to write. Exploring their personality differences is my favorite thing!

Tour of Mythicality show-goer’s tips [no spoilers]

This post is only about the pure logistics of attending the Tour of Mythicality, including what you can and cannot bring, what merch to expect, some VIP experience tips, etc:

(for cinnamon rolls such as @thegreyhenley, @madie600, @ladycynthiana, @heatgeneratingtechniques and whoever you can think of and tag!! Be prepared to enjoy yourself!!)

1. You will go through a metal detector. Emptying your pockets ahead of time would be a good idea. The security guard will briefly check your bag.

2. No food and drinks is very strictly enforced. If you have food on you, even if it’s just a snack, you’d have to finish it before entering the venue. Water bottles are not allowed. I saw people in front of me in line getting all the way up to security check and having to go back out to put their water bottles back into their car. So don’t risk your spot in line by bringing one. There is water inside either via drinking fountain or at the concession stand.

3. If you have a GA or “floor” ticket, you will most likely be standing. Wear comfy shoes. The stage is slightly elevated so you should be able to see the Boyz, even if you’re stuck behind a tall guy. The vibe of the crowd was mostly very polite and courteous so you don’t have to worry about a crowd “surge” (my hubby said this happens at metal shows but I wouldn’t know)

4. There will be NO AUTOGRAPHS. I know. This broke my heart to learn too, but I think it’s better you know now instead of bringing your copy of the book and holding it through the whole show just to find out you can’t get it signed. HOWEVER,

5. THERE WILL BE AUTOGRAPHED COPIES OF THE BOOK ON SALE!!! There will be a specific merch stand just for books, where they have both signed copies and regular copies. I don’t know how many signed copies they will have but I can only assume that they go fast. I bought mine for about 17 dollars (there was a 20% discount for some reason??) as soon as I got in on my VIP day. The signed books have a page that the regular books don’t have where the autographs are

6. MERCH!!! You can buy a tour shirt that looks like this for $35, with all the show locations and dates on the back (I think this one sells out pretty fast, so safe bet is grab it before the show)

AND you can buy the cockatrice shirt illustrated by the infamous “wolf shirt” artist that Link wore on the show, also $35 (I was able to buy this one after the show)

They will also have the badges that you see at the beginning of each chapter of the book, although not every single one (they didn’t have the risk your heart for an animal one, I was so sad). They will also have lots of stuff in the online mythical store, including the pomade, mugs and mythical hats. I saw a tote that said “birds don’t fart” (???) for $10. They also have the old camo print mythical hat and classic logo merch bearing the green Rhett and Link logo.

7. VIP: my VIP day had a 7:30 show and we lined up in a separate line and went in at about 6:00. You will receive a lanyard indicating that you are VIP. All the metal detector and food and drink policy are the same. You will line up for meet and greet after the show. They allowed one group of people at a time (either you go in alone, or you go in with your friends/husbands) in to the meet and greet room where you can have a brief chat with Rhett and Link, give them a gift even, and take a few pictures with them. You would hand your phone to a staff there who will take the photos for you. They also won’t be signing autographs during the meet and greet either as a policy so please don’t push them. After the photo you will get a tote with Randlr on it and a sticker pack inside and a signed poster. The posters at the merch stand are rolled up and sealed in plastic but the VIP posters are flat and unfurled, so prepare to guard it with your life on the way home.

8. Q&A will depend on how much time they have after the show. The NYC one only felt like 10 minutes while the Huntington one was at least 20. It goes by fast so if you have a question that means a lot to you, be prepared ahead of time and raise your hand as soon as they start taking questions. At the NYC show the space was really packed and they were only able to get the microphone to people in the front rows, so take that into consideration as well.

9. Enjoy yourself!! I cannot stress this enough: Rhett and Link have such an amazing stage presence that you will be impressed, proud, entertained and happy and remember it for the rest of your life <3 <3 <3
